We were one of the first weddings in the Scandinavian tents at Royal Gorge, and even though they had never done it before, they really delivered and created a magical experience for us and our guests. Aside from the wedding day, Sugar Bowl really has a lot to offer in terms of: play day at Lake Mary, Lake Mary as a rehearsal dinner location, on-site lodging + bar + breakfast and the wedding venue of course. We were able to create a superb weekend experience for ourselves and our guests and everyone had a blast the whole time. The venue locations are unbeatable in terms of their privacy and scenery, you truly have the whole thing to yourself. I can't say enough how Sugar Bowl and their staff is so accomodating and flexible, and the value they deliver really beats your expectations. They really put in so much effort to making your day go as well as possible and stay on top of the details. We were happily surprised by the really high level of food and beverage that was delivered. Coming from the Bay Area, we had pretty high standards, and they were definitely met. This is no standard wedding food - our meals were full of fresh seasonal produce and packed with flavor, and the drinks did not disappoint either. All of our guests raved about the food and drinks, along with the overall experience. Can't recommend these guys enough in terms of the hospitality they offer, attention to detail, and value for your money. Doing a wedding with Sugar Bowl really feels like it can be curated to you and the experience you are looking for, and feels a lot like a family and not at all corporate.

Our daughter's June 2024 wedding at Sugar Bowl was an absolute dream come true! From the breathtaking scenery to the impeccable service, everything exceeded our expectations. We held the ceremony at Lake Mary, and despite our initial worries about the June weather, it turned out perfectly. The sun shone, and many guests even enjoyed swimming, kayaking, and playing games in the lake. The taco lunch provided by Sugar Bowl was a huge hit – absolutely delicious and a perfect fit for the casual, fun atmosphere.

The Sugar Bowl staff, especially Kim Parisi, the wedding coordinator, were simply outstanding. Kim’s expertise and dedication were evident from the start. coordinator, She truly went above and beyond in every single way.

One example of their flexibility and responsiveness was the last-minute change of venue for our rehearsal dinner. Due to unexpected winds at Lake Mary, we were advised to move the dinner to the lodge. The Sugar Bowl team seamlessly transitioned everything, making the lodge just as magical for the rehearsal dinner as Lake Mary would have been.

Initially, I hesitated about adding the Disney lift for the cocktail hour due to the cost. However, I am so incredibly glad we decided to include it! It added such a special and unique touch to the celebration, and our guests loved it.

Having our guests stay at the lodge was another highlight. The opportunity for everyone to enjoy a full breakfast together the morning after the wedding created a wonderful sense of community and extended the celebration beautifully.

I could go on and on about how happy we were with every aspect of our daughter's Sugar Bowl wedding. The entire experience was truly magical, and we are so grateful to the Sugar Bowl team for making it so unforgettable.

We got married at Sugar Bowl's Lake Mary Venue in August 2024. It was truly magical! First, the venue itself is stunning. The lake is owned by the resort so it's very private and intimate. Many of our guests had never been to the Tahoe area and we're blown away. Kim was super communicative and helpful from Day 1 - we used her list of preferred vendors and everyone was worked with was excellent. The food was delicious, the staff were professional and courteous and the whole day ran so smoothly. We were able to use the Belt Room Bar for our after party, which was the perfect way to top it off. We would 1000% do it all over again - it was the perfect place to get married.

I can't say enough about my experience working with Sugar Bowl. We chose a Sunday wedding at their smaller venue, Lake Mary. The moment we toured the venue, we knew it was the one for us. Lake Mary has a natural but beautiful feel to it. There is a view of Lake Mary and you are surrounded by trees. Throughout the entire year working with Sugar Bowl, they were responsive, possessed great attention to detail, and executed the day with so much care. I felt so well taken care of, especially since I had not hired a coordinator otherwise. We were even able to keep the venue and catering to a reasonable cost. We are so grateful we found this venue!

OH MY GOSH, I can not recommend Sugar Bowl enough! It was such a dream having our special day here. Not only is the venue beautiful, but the staff is amazing and soooooo helpful. We did a lake day at Sugar Bowl's private lake as a welcome party where canoes, paddle boards, and other water gear was provided. As well as food and drinks! Such a relaxing way to welcome guests for the weekend. For the actual wedding day, the staff was so attentive and so welcoming to all guests. For example, we had the cocktail hour at the top of the Disney Ski lift and the staff were already ready with appetizers and drinks as guests made their way up. There are so many beautiful parts of Sugar Bowl that can be explored also. How often do you get a whole ski resort to yourself for the weekend?? The ceremony was beautiful with greenery and wildflowers all around and the reception on the outdoor lodge deck was perfect with outdoor string lights already set up, lawn games, plenty of space for a dance floor and the bar just right up the steps - perfect setting. Also, guests are able to stay at the lodge, which is a bonus since guests can celebrate to their fullest and just have a staircase commute back to their rooms. Rooms were also coordinated with the help of the Sugar Bowl staff.

And I can't say thank you enough for Lisa (venue manager) and Sarah who helped us leading up to the wedding weekend and day of the wedding. Such great communication and make you feel so special. They helped with all the little details and coordinated with our planner and other vendors to make sure everything went smoothly. Lisa helped us from giving a tour of the venue, to choosing dinner selections, drinks, activities - she wore many hats and was so easy to work with. We're truly thankful for her and her team.

Sugar Bowl is also away from the tourist trap of Tahoe during the summer peak season (around 40 minutes from Lake Tahoe), so it's the perfect location for your guests to escape from the crowds but still get that Sierra mountain experience. Highly recommend Sugar Bowl as a venue! Beautiful, convenient, and the people here were such a pleasure to work with and are SO kind. And multiple guests came up to us saying it's one of the best weddings they've been to ;)

Our wedding at Sugar Bowl was everything we could’ve ever dreamed of. There was not one moment that we were stressed with the planning process because everyone on the Sugar Bowl team was readily available to answer questions and make our vision come true. The venue is pretty much all inclusive, so the only other vendors we needed were florists, DJ, and photographer which really helped alleviate the stress leading up to the wedding.

Lisa, the Weddings and Special Events Manager. She answered every phone call, text, email in timely manner and was very communicative throughout the months leading up to the wedding. The day of the wedding, she made the entire night run so smoothly. We honestly would not ask for a better evening.

The food and beverage staff were phenomenal. All of our guests were so impressed with the food and the drinks. The bartender Bob also made it very special for our guests. He created delicious and unique drinks that all of the guests really enjoyed.

Overall our wedding at Sugar Bowl was so unique, fun, and everything we ever envisioned on our wedding day. Everyone always says “something will go wrong on your wedding” and I can easily say absolutely nothing went wrong thanks to SB staff and especially thanks to Lisa! I highly recommend working with this team to make all of your wedding dreams come true!

We had our wedding here in July 2021 and it was everything we imagined and more. We had to postpone a year (COVID) but they very accommodating and understanding. Lisa Tomasi and Jose Yi are wonderful to work with, and we appreciated how responsive they both were to our questions! The entire weekend ran without a hitch and all we had to do was enjoy! Sugar Bowl as a wedding venue is incredible - it's charming, rustic, intimate, and has amazing views. The lift ride to the top of the mountain for cocktail hour was unforgettable and made for some great photo ops! The food was also outstanding. Everything was all around excellent and we are so glad we chose Sugar Bowl to tie the knot.

We are so happy that we picked Sugar Bowl as our venue! The staff and the food at this venue are phenomenal! And the lodge has such a chill, family vibe. We got married at the Village Lodge and had our rehearsal dinner at Lake Mary. Both were beautiful. The day at the lake on Friday before the rehearsal dinner was a great way to greet all of our friends and family, was a lot of fun, and made wedding day a lot less stressful. Tammy helped us out with our food tasting and was there on wedding day and is a treasure. Lisa is the new coordinator there and did a terrific job keeping us organized. We recommend using the Disney lift if you can--such a treat to go up there to signature cocktails, friends, family, and music with a view. We also had a kid-friendly wedding (we had ~25 kids there!) and the lawn games were clutch. Beautiful day, fantastic venue, can't recommend the whole experience highly enough.

Our experience at Sugar Bowl (Lake Mary) was phenomenal! The wedding coordinators and staff were flexible and easy to work with. The food was unbelievable, our guests were blown away, and most went back for seconds. Sugar Bowl created the ideal wedding experience. When reminiscing about it after my husband said: "It was so much fun I want to do it all over again!"

Having skied at Sugar Bowl for several years, the resort held a special place in our hearts, and now that we were married there, it is even more special to my husband and me. Allison was fun to work with, attentive to our many silly questions, and very good at her job. The rest of the Sugar Bowl staff was equally helpful and friendly. Because Sugar Bowl employees do the set up, break down, and everything in between, we were able to have fun with our guests and each other instead of stressing about centerpieces. My husband and I have heard from many of our guests that ours was the most fun and beautiful wedding they have attended.

The cocktail hour at the top of Mt. Disney is absolutely worth doing. We had been up there many times in winter, but the wildflowers were going OFF during our late-August wedding, and I'm so excited to see our photographs from up there. Our guests loved the chair lift, as well. We loved not having to find a caterer (Sugar Bowl does catering in-house), and the food was amazing, too! Having many of our guests stay at the Village Lodge with us turned our big day into a fun weekend getaway and gave us more time with our many out-of-town friends and family. The Village Lodge basement area also worked perfectly for our after party (just add glowsticks and speakers).

I cannot recommend Sugar Bowl highly enough.

We got married at Sugar Bowl in July 2017 and it was the most magical and phenomenal place to have a wedding ever! Between the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain scenery and the rustic ski-lodge vibe, it was the perfect place for my husband and I to tie the knot. We did the rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception at The Lodge which made accommodations simple and easy for our mostly out-of-town guests. We opted for the Disney Chair cocktail hour which was one of the most epic, beautiful experiences ever---I would highly recommend it if it is within your budget! Allison (the wedding coordinator) was professional, responsive, and very organized and everything went very smoothly all the way through the process. She handled all the details from keeping us within budget, to helping put all the décor in place, and to guiding us through the day timely and with very little stress. Most our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to—this venue will absolutely not disappoint! Thanks Sugar Bowl, Allison, Jose and all of the staff!

Our advice to a couple deciding to book their wedding at Sugar Bowl Resort is: do it. We were married at Sugar Bowl Resort in August, and the entire weekend was so perfect. We will try to keep this brief, as we could sing Sugar Bowl's praises for days.

From our first meeting with Meghon, we knew that there was no other place that could top Sugar Bowl Resort. Meghon helped us through literally EVERY part of the planning process. She was always responsive to all our questions and provided excellent advice. She made planning this extremely important day enjoyable and without stress!

As half our guests were from the East Coast, we wanted to create an entire weekend instead of one day. We booked the entire Lodge for our guests, which meant assigning hotel rooms to our close friends and family. Jose, Sydney and Lisa put up with all our changes and weekly emails, and helped us with all the hotel details. They were always responsive, and extremely professional. The hotel staff took care of everything from check-in to check-out (literally everything).

We choose to book Lake Mary for a lake day with our guests on Friday, as well as for our rehearsal dinner Friday night. The Sugar Bowl staff took care of every detail and the food and service was exceptional. The location was gorgeous for the rehearsal dinner, and after all our guests went back to the Beltroom Bar for cocktails and dessert. Shout out to all the great bartenders!!

Sugar Bowl really took care of everything: planning and coordination, vendor recommendations, lodging, food, decorations, flowers, and set up and take down. Amanda and Meghon worked with all our vendors to make sure everything on the day went smoothly and on time. The entire weekend was so perfect, and that is due to the attentiveness, professionalism and exceptional customer service of the entire Sugar Bowl Staff. We heard from many guests on Sunday that it was the best wedding that they ever went to, and we have to agree!! Thank you!

Sugar Bowl does absolutely amazing weddings!!!! They have a wedding coordinator Meghon who is fantastic, organized, and made our day stress free and fun. We also used her as our florist. Her personal work is beautiful. Meghon made sure all the accommodations we needed for my nephews with food allergies were safe, and made the weekend so relaxing and stress free it was perfect. We rented the lodge for our wedding, reception and rehearsal dinner. Everything went off just as planned. It was almost completely stress free. My mother, father nor I had to check on anything the day of the wedding. It was a very fun and enjoyable event. I loved that our family got to stay onsite and that we got to stay 3 nights and use the horse shoe puts, basement, and the outdoor fire pit was a hit with our guests who wanted the mountain feel! It was stunning!

Our wedding at Sugar Bowl was amazing. The organizers, Meghon and her assistant Amanda, were spectacular. They are very easy to work with, their prices are reasonable for what you get, and the setting is gorgeous without being over-the-top Lake Tahoe pricing. If you're looking for a Tahoe wedding without the price tag, this is the place for you. Also, having wedding coordinators who work for the venue means that you almost get a wedding planner included in the price of your wedding!

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience at Sugar Bowl. Meghon is amazing and wonderful and helps out with all things venue related- she also has good recommendations for other vendors(photographer, DJ etc) and is an expert in all things wedding related. Meghon's assistant Amanda helped us coordinate things on 'the big day' and was also amazing and kept things on track, searched for a missing family member(he wasn't really missing), etc. The venue is gorgeous- we got more comments on this than anything else. We needed minimal decor because nature did all the work. But, the whole thing is outside and we lucked out with absolutely perfect weather for an absolutely perfect day! Thank you Sugar Bowl!

We cannot say enough good things about Meghon and her team. Everything about our weding was perfect, and I can truly attribute that to the amazing staff. She was always responsive to email and budget conscious. This was especially true with flowers. She was on point with every vendor recommendation I asked for. She is crazy organized, which helped me to also be organized and or everything to go smoothly. Everyone always says stuff goes wrong at weddings, but seriously, I can't think of anything. Everyone also said it is some of the best wedding food they've had and the most amazing wedding they've been to. No one wanted to leave at the end of the weekend!
Additionally, the staff are amazing. Anything we asked for from anyone magically happened. Also one of our friend's flights was delayed and they landed in Reno at 1am. As you can imagine, it's difficult to find Sugar Bowl in the dark, especially when you've never been there. The front desk staff sat on the phone with them at 3am, helping them to navigate every turn and make sure they didn't get lost. This is level of customer service they had with every interaction with all of our guests and us all weekend.
Everything was amazing and I can't thank Meghon and her team enough for our perfect day. We had zero complaints from any guests about anything (amazing, seriously), besides the fact the weekend ended too soon. We can't say enough positive things and will never forget our weekend at Sugar Bowl. If we had to do it all over again, hands down, without hesitation we would use Sugar Bowl.

This outstanding venue and magnificent staff made for a once in a lifetime event for my son and daughter-in-law. The staff was accommodating and most helpful. They honored all our requests. Having guests stay at the lodge and surroundings condos made this 3 day gala magical. Anyone planning a very special event should look into this venue. You will be so glad you did. I could not ask for a more perfect venue for both my rehearsal dinner and wedding. We had our rehearsal dinner at Lake Mary, and we were taken back by this hidden gem in the Sierras. Our wedding was at the Village Lodge and my family and friends had so much fun spending the weekend at Sugar Bowl. Meghon and her staff made my entire wedding planning easy, and she gave me the wedding of my dreams. Meghon was also my florist and she did an incredible job with our flowers. I was speechless when I saw our arch, tables, and decor around the venue. The food at Sugar Bowl is amazing! I would highly recommend this venue!

The venue and service exceeded my expectations by a million! I knew it would be a beautiful venue, but I was literally blown away by how gorgeous the grounds were and how amazing the entire staff was! The service was phenomenal and everyone was so helpful! The lodge was awesome and all my friends and family were able to stay on-site so it was a great summer camp/dorm feel which everyone LOVED! Meghon was so helpful and responsive throughout the whole planning process. I literally wish I could have a wedding there every weekend. I hope a friend gets married there so I get to attend a wedding there soon! I can't say enough good things about the entire experience. It was seriously the wedding of my dreams!

Meghon was a true professional that delivered us a wedding that exceeded our expectations.

The staff and venue at Sugar Bowl Resort far exceeded my expectations! We were on a fairly strict budget and so were forced to decline many of their extra options that were available (The Disney Chair Lift, the Lake Mary Rehearsal, floral services). Despite this, their most basic package included spectacular lighting and decor, a full weekend of devoted and attentive staff, and floral decorations around the lodge that were coordinated with our wedding flowers and colors! Furthermore, Meghon surprised us with adding her own finishing touches at the ceremony site, which were breathtaking. We asked for a reduced price menu and still received an assortment of main dishes, salads, and appetizers that had even the most foodie of our guests salivating! We received the kind of service one might expect if we had opted for ALL of their extra options! I highly recommend Meghon and her staff at Sugar Bowl Lodge for ANY special event you may be planning, especially your wedding.

Davie and I were married at Sugar Bowl Resort on June 6, 2015 and could not be more thrilled with the entire experience. From the very beginning to the very last moment, the Sugar Bowl team was exquisite. Meghon was the best wedding coordinator I could have imagined. Meghon was always available for questions and was incredibly helpful along with Amanda on making all our dreams come true for our day. When she first told me if we can dream it, they will make it happen, I wasn't sure it was possible. I have never been more happy to be wrong! Every single detail was perfect. Additionally, Chef Alan made the most incredible French-Vietnamese fusion meal for the 140 guests. From the walnut chicken to the filet and custom pho bar... the guests were so happy with the food and could not stop complimenting the chef. The entire crew set up the hotel with flowers, tables, and more to make every guest feel welcome and loved. The fire pit was awesome for s'mores and hanging out each night. The hotel was perfect! We had most of our guests staying at the hotel or in houses on the property. Jose was amazing getting all the rooms sorted out and helping all the guests. If you love a beautiful mountain setting and crave a weekend-long wedding event, this is absolutely the best place for you! I could not be more complimentary of Sugar Bowl. Thank you!!

Today, on the anniversary of our son’s wedding at Sugar Bowl Resort, my husband and I are reminiscing about the happy celebrations during the long weekend we enjoyed at Sugar Bowl. I cannot speak highly enough of Meghon, with whom we worked long distance to coordinate the rehearsal dinner at scenic Lake Mary. Meghon did all the flowers for the wedding, and they were absolutely gorgeous. The entire resort was reserved for the weekend, with the wedding guests free to enjoy boating on the lake, early morning trail hikes, and casual time together. The food was delicious and the staff was wonderful, managing all the details in a relaxed and professional manner. From the breathtaking scenery to the friendly and professional staff, everything came together perfectly. Thank you, Sugar Bowl staff and management, for inspiring special memories that will last a lifetime!

We thought Meghon and the entire Sugar Bowl staff were very friendly and helpful. The pricing seemed very fair and straightforward and the setting was incredible.

Sugarbowl is amazing. We originally chose the location because of sentimental value (my husband taught me to ski here) but were blown away at what a perfect wedding venue it turned out to be. Staff are always friendly and go above and beyond. The wedding co-ordinator Meghon was so easy to work with and always made herself available whenever we needed something. She also did our flowers for the wedding and they were gorgeous. She worked with what I wanted but added her own touch and they turned out beautifully.
Both my husband and I grew up in Canada so most of our guests had travelled quite a ways to be at our wedding. Sugarbowl was such a special place as you have the whole resort to yourself for 3 days. It was a spectacular setting to have a family reunion. Many of our family members had never been to Tahoe and were blown away. Everyone said it was the best wedding venue they had ever experienced.
We did the chairlift for cocktail hour and had drinks and appetizers at the top of the mountain. It was spectacular and worth every penny.
The food was delicious!! We were very impressed and everyone was raving about it.
The fire pit that was lit every night was also a highlight. Smores for the kids then late-night talks with our family and friends sitting in Adarondak chairs around the camp fire was a great way to cap off the evenings.
The prices were reasonable and the co-ordinator Meghon made suggestions to help us stay within our budget. There were no surprises when we saw the bill.
I would would say that Sugarbowl as the perfect wedding venue. I have no regrets and would have my wedding there again in a heartbeat. We have perfect memories of our wedding day thanks to Sugarbowl.

Sugar Bowl was an amazing venue to have my wedding! The venue was stunning, the chair lift was incredible, the food was great, and the Sugar Bowl staff and Meghon were so accommodating the entire weekend. Working with Meghon during my engagement really helped, she was always quick to answer emails and worked with me on things that I wanted to do a little bit differently than what their norm was.

I loved being able to have The Village lodge exclusively for the weekend. Having the rehearsal dinner there too made the weekend feel like a big family/friend reunion. I was told by many guests that my wedding was one of their favorite weddings they've been too, the chairlift really gives guests an awesome experience.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about my experience with Sugar Bowl and my wedding. The staff was amazingly helpful and willing to go the extra distance everytime. I did a LOT of shopping for venues in the Tahoe/Truckee area and this is by far the beat deal available. The affordable price came with so many extra perks (like the wedding coordinator) that you just don't get at the other local venues. I wish I could get married at Lake Mary again!!

We used Sugar Bowl for a destination wedding weekend and Meghon and her staff were attentive, helpful, very responsive and overall wonderful. I am the mother of the groom so we hosted a Friday night welcome dinner for all guests at Lake Mary and the setting was fabulous, excellent service, and great food. In addition to the event coordination, I also worked with Meghon on the flower center pieces for the tables which were perfect for the venue. She has a wealth of knowledge, is detailed orientated and her coordination let us enjoy the event rather than worry about the details. The wedding ceremony and reception the next day was picture perfect, once again with excellent service and great food.

WOW! What a wonderful venue for my June 21 wedding!! It was just perfect for our rustic/outdoorsy themed wedding! Even if you did not have any decorations..this venue SCREAMS rustic and woodsy. The staff were wonderful during the whole process: before, during, AND even after. Weather was great and we did not know we were marrying on the first day of summer aka the longest day of the year!

Meghon was sooo wonderful and absolutely responsive. After hearing all my friends current horror stories, I appreciate her fast response! When you talk/email her she felt genuine..Again my friends' current experience with their CURRENT venue planners..cringe worthy. I loved and appreciated her suggestions. We also decided to hire her for flowers. Again, it fit perfectly with what I wanted. It was also very convenient to have the food, flowers, hotel, setup all under Meghon! It helps to have someone who sees the vision the bride sees! Thank you Meghon many of my guest commented on just how wonderful you all were!

Booking Sugar Bowl meant you had the whole place to yourself. We decided to book the Disney Lift...and the ONLY complaint I have was that I wish that the person operating the lift told my guest that the bar on the ski lift came down...BOY riding the skilift during the summer is FAR different than in the winter...SCARY ISH! I had a few guest who were literally crying so be prepared. My husband and I are outdoorsy and we ski/snowboard often I did NOT expect to be THAT terrified! Other than that it was a wonderfully unique experience for our 170 guest.

Anyhoo I can't stress how wonderful this venue is. Many of my guest kept commenting on it too. The grounds are also well maintained. The grass was lush and pretty. I wish I can get married all over again! =)

We hosted our daughter's wedding at Sugar Bowl's Lake Mary venue. For the year leading up to the wedding, communication was easy and thorough. Meghon was extremely friendly and professional providing us lists, venue visits, and a tasting. For the rehearsal and event, Amanda took over. Amanda was a delight. She answered all our questions and managed the site with a friendly demeanor. All of the Sugarbowl employees were friendly and professional. Lake Mary is stunningly beautiful for an outdoor wedding. Many of our guests commented on the gorgeous scenery, fabulous food, and fun activities set up for the reception. My daughter and I are Tahoe locals and we looked at nearly every venue in and around Tahoe. Sugarbowl was the best price and provided the best service.

In my opinion sugar bowl gets 5 stars for everything. We had our wedding there this June and it was amazing! Meghon and her team were more than accommodating and made everything so special for our big day. They were very professional but approachable and we felt like we could ask them anything and no task was too big. They even went as far as learning many of the guests names and helping some of the older guests with food etc. The wedding was a huge success, everyone had an amazing time and even our guests mentioned to us how wonderful the staff was at sugar bowl. Thank you Sugar Bowl Staff!

We had our wedding at Sugar Bowl this past October and it was the best place we could have chosen. I cannot recommend this place enough. It was the first venue we saw and we booked it that day, knowing it would be perfect for us. The planning process was so easy and smooth; Meghon and Pat took care of whatever we needed, but we were able to plan and coordinate the things we wanted to. They are extremely flexible with what they will do and provide really good recommendations on timing, set up, and logistics. We showed up the day before the wedding, dropped off everything we brought and had a half hour meeting to go over set up etc. and after that we didn't have to worry about a thing. The best part was that neither we nor our guests had to lift a finger, and the whole weekend was executed perfectly and our stuff was packed back into boxes by Sunday morning ready for us to take home.

They really went above and beyond our expectations and all the little things I'd forgotten (our cake needs decoration? It's cold and we need heat lamps?) they took care of. I could go on and on about everything they did that made it perfect. A lot of our guests stayed Friday and Saturday night, and the ability to have everyone there with no stress made it perfect. I've heard and seen so many stories of brides frazzled on their wedding day trying to get everything set up right or deal with emergencies that come up. I was honestly so relaxed because I knew that even if something did go wrong it would be handled. Additionally, the place is beautiful. If you like the mountains you won't find a better venue. Now we are just hoping one of our friends gets married there so we can attend a wedding at Sugar Bowl!

The BEST wedding venue!! The Sugar Bowl staff made our day perfect and stress free. Sugar Bowl went out of their way to accommodate all of the wedding needs for me and my guests. I cannot say enough great things about everyone there. Honest truth - our guests are still talking about how much fun our wedding was. I owe a huge thanks to everyone at Sugar Bowl for making that happen.

Sugar Bowl made our prep hassle-free and our wedding day smooth and easy. Meghon and Pat were excellent coordinators on site and their team was there to answer any questions and help make our guests feel comfortable.

Flowers - Meghon & Pat happen to be florists, so that was easy.
Catering - they have excellent chefs and menus on site, so no need to outsource. The tasting was a wonderful experience in the snow!
Photographer - they have a list of recommended vendors and we loved Chris Cooke!
Cake - we ordered apple pie from a local bakery and Meghon took care of the whole process, from the tasting to the cutting
Decorations - we went with a rustic, woodsy theme and Sugar Bowl helped out significantly by providing baskets, wooden rounds for the tables, mason jars for flowers, an archway, and shepherd's hooks for the ceremony aisles. We described our style and they created it for us - so easy! We even intended to write out table seating with chalk and Sugar Bowl staff, Riza, took care of us for us with her beautiful handwriting.
Location - up in the mountains; it's definitely a destination for most, but at only 45 minutes from the Reno Airport and about 3.5 hours for our Bay Area friends and family, we decided that a "convenient getaway" fit the bill. Keep in mind, the 20-minute drive down to Truckee is a windy mountain road, so stay away after drinking or late at night.
Lodge - the rooms are quaint and clean and fit a wide range of numbers, so we could house our relatives and groups of friends easily on site. We only wish they had more rooms to fit all of our 117 guests. Luckily, it's just a short drive down to Truckee where hotels and restaurants are located.
Fun perk - we booked the Disney ski lift for our cocktail hour, which was a huge hit - even my grandparents went up the lift!

Our friends and family are still raving about the scenery, the location, the Disney lift, the food, and the service. We really could not be happier with our choice!

We got married at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort on 10/6/12. We loved the rustic, historic feel. We immediately clicked with Meghon, the wedding event coordinator. She is genuine, friendly & put us right at ease. She & her staff were flexible & allowed creativity. They accommodated special requests regarding my culture’s unique traditions-my family was so honored and impressed. The staff also set up all of my handmade decorations in such a way that was more beautiful than I could have imagined & returned everything to me in perfect condition! I didn't have to worry or bother any family or friends with these details. Meghon also did all the flowers-I had no idea what I wanted & she still produced incredible work that was exactly what I wanted! I highly recommend her for the flower services. Dinner was fantastic! Our friend, who is a professional chef at a gourmet restaurant, said it was the best food he ever had at a wedding! We also used the basement of the ski lodge as a kids room, with a kid friendly buffet, coloring, games and movies. All the parents raved about this! After all the kiddos went to bed, the staff quickly transformed the room into the after-party room & the festivities continued into the night! Mike with the lodging & accommodations staff was also extremely helpful throughout the whole process, making sure that all our guests staying on-site were taken care of. Finally, another highlight was the Sunday Brunch-It was so nice to say goodbye to everyone & not have to worry about pulling quiches out of the oven or doing dishes. We just relaxed & enjoyed everyone’s company for as long as we could. Everyone said that our wedding couldn't have been at a more beautiful location or be more relaxed. Meghon really went above & beyond to make our day stress-free & more perfect than we could have imagined! All this was affordable, with no sacrifice of elegance, quality, or service. We are so happy to have had such an amazing weekend, all thanks to Meghon & her staff.

My goodness our wedding was the most BEAUTIFUL wedding I have ever seen!!! The wedding coordinator was AMAZING as well as the entire Sugar Bowl staff. From start to finish, everything was perfect and exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The venue is ideal, as we had everything to ourselves-no outsiders to be seen!!! The food was incredible and the chef also went above and beyond-we couldn't have had a more perfect and memorable day!!! I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone and everyone.

On my 40th Birthday in 2011 my husband took me to a Lake Mary Dinner. Our parents had raved about the dinner and the location so we thought it would be a wonderful little celebration place. We fell in love with it right away and decided right then that we would have to look into having our wedding there. I contacted Meghon at Sugar Bowl the next week and booked Lake Mary for our wedding on August 11th 2012 and the Lodge for the entire weekend. Meghon was a wonder. I had worked in catering in NYC for many years and so was coming into the process with many expectations. Meghon met all of those expectations. She organized absolutely everything and did my flowers to boot which were stunning. I wanted a low key, small wedding that was rustic yet sophisticated and it was exactly what I imagined. Not only was it beautiful but food was incredible. Guests raved! They said that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. The location is amazing, having your guests stay at the Lodge and share Tahoe for the weekend was the best, the food was to die for and I whole heartedly recommend it. It was the perfect event for us and we could not have asked for more.

Everything about our wedding experience at Sugar Bowl was perfect for us! Our wedding was "destination" for the majority of our guests and for us as well. We were worried about planning from afar and how everything would tie together for the big day, but Meghon (wedding coordinator), Lisa (hotel manager) and the rest of the Sugar Bowl staff made the planning process and our actual wedding such an amazing experience. Meghon is extremely helpful, hands-on, experienced, professional, and is full of great ideas and input along the way. Lisa and the hotel staff were so easy to work with in terms of coordinating the 27 rooms and reservations for our guests and they were great about providing updates along the way. Even when they aren’t open full time, I felt that they coordinated well with one another and worked together to be there when I had questions or needed information. We also loved the complementary wine/food tasting that you get to do once you've booked your wedding date at Sugar Bowl. We were able to include my parents and even rode to the lodge in a snow cat due to the weather. The whole "adventure" was a really great way to kick off our experience with Sugar Bowl. Not to mention, the food is amazing and they feed you until you are full to the brim!

I guess you can say we did the "whole shebang" in terms of what is available when you book at Sugar Bowl. We arrived the Wednesday before our wedding and hosted an outdoor movie on the lawn. The front desk staff was really helpful and filled up buckets of ice for us and even let us borrow their cute little popcorn maker. They also kept the camp fire going for us late into the night so our guests arriving late could enjoy it. From the first day, our guests commented on how great it was to have such a beautiful venue to ourselves and how nice the staff was.

We hosted a rehearsal dinner/welcome BBQ at Lake Mary on Friday night. The setting was absolutely gorgeous, the food was delicious, the bartender was super friendly, table settings looked great - everything was wonderful! Meghon even went above and beyond by putting little vase centerpieces out for me at the last minute. I was supposed to provide potted flowers, but completely forgot and she just told me not to worry about it and it would be taken care of and would look great, which it did! I highly recommend taking advantage of Lake Mary if you can, whether it is for a rehearsal dinner, or using the “water toys” during the day, or for your ceremony. It is such a beautiful location and made our rehearsal dinner a special experience for us and our guests.

On the day of our wedding, Meghon coordinated all the vendors and helped to round up family & wedding party for pictures and kept the whole event on track and organized. If there were any issues, we never knew about them. Meghan and the rest of the staff were helpful and relaxed the whole time.

Meghon also did our flowers and they were absolutely amazing! We went with a "rustic wildflower" theme and she created exactly what I had envisioned. She is so creative and talented! If she's available to do your event flowers, I would highly recommended going with her.

One of the big draws of Sugar Bowl was the ability to use the ski lift. We had our cocktail hour at the top of the mountain immediately following the ceremony. Our guests (most of them at least) loved riding up the lift and lucky for us, we had perfect weather so the views from the top were amazing. We decided to offer a white sangria as our signature cocktail. They made it in house and it was really good! My only complaint is that we weren't informed that there aren't any restroom facilities at the top of the mountain, so a lot of guests went down early because they had to use the restroom.
Regarding our reception, our wedding food was DELICIOUS and the staff was really attentive…for example, we put out a few pizza’s at the end of the night for a “late night snack” and as soon as I turned around on the dance floor to go inside and grab a slice, one of the staff was standing there with two pieces for my groom and I. : )

A few other noteworthy comments…every morning the deck and grounds were spotless, even first thing Sunday morning. The staff seems to work really hard and you can tell the property is well kept.
I also wanted to do a candy bar, but was having a hard time shipping all the glass jars, etc. When I asked Meghon for help, she said to bring the candy and she would handle the rest (and she was excited about it!). Our Candy Bar turned out beautiful, all thanks to Meghon. She incorporated rustic wood log rounds, moss, flowers and set up all the candy, jars, etc. It was one of my favorite parts of the decor and she tied it all in with our theme perfectly.

All in all, we are so grateful that we had our wedding at Sugar Bowl and couldn't be happier with the experience. They made our event seamless and stress-free from start to finish. I highly recommend Sugar Bowl if you are looking for a beautiful venue, great food, amazing staff, and good value.

Short version: Sugar Bowl is awesome and a great place to have a wedding!

Long version:
We recently had a small wedding (70 guests) at the Village Lodge at Sugar Bowl, and it was a blast! Many people told us it was the best wedding they've been too! Much of the credit goes to the great people at Sugar Bowl, especially the wedding coordinator Meghon, who went to great lengths to take care of us and was delightful to work with.

The lodge is secluded and private (a bit like an upscale summer camp). I really loved that the ceremony, reception, and lodging were all in the same place. It was so nice to be able to walk up two flights of stairs and be in my room. The whole place has a magical atmosphere - the historic lodge, the huge deck, the beautiful party lights, the mountains, and the babbling creek. We took photos at the Rainbow Bridge overlook, which has amazing views of Donner Lake.

We really liked that Sugar Bowl took care of many of our wedding needs and saved us from having to find additional vendors. We rented the whole lodge for the wedding weekend and filled it exclusively with our guests. It is difficult to describe how amazing it is to see someone down the hotel hallway and automatically know them. We were able to personalize everything! Meghon took all our instructions and ideas and made them look way better than we had imagined. She has a good eye and loves flowers! As for dinner, the food was great and the servers were all very good. And we loved the bar. By the end of the weekend, I think everyone was friends with the bartender. =)

The weather was beautiful in early July. It was plenty warm (even hot!) and dancing under the stars was amazing! We hosted bagged lunches for everyone, so no one needed to leave during the day. Instead they got to enjoy the mountains by hiking, biking or boating (Sugar Bowl provided loaner mountain bikes and water toys!). We also had a campfire both nights with s'mores. Because our ceremony and reception were held outdoors, we did have to deal with a few mosquitoes, but fortunately Sugar Bowl provided a basket of mosquito repellant and sunscreen for the guests to use and has some fancy propane traps.

We felt Sugar Bowl was a great value. For the price of a very modest wedding in Los Angeles, we got to feel pampered at Sugar Bowl. We have no regrets at all that we got married at Sugar Bowl, even though most of our guests had to travel more than 100 miles.

p.s. We hosted a welcome BBQ (instead of a rehearsal dinner) for all our guests at Sugar Bowl on the Friday before the wedding. The Sugar Bowl burgers were great! The potato salad also got rave reviews from the guests.

From the first time meeting Meghon nine months before our wedding, to hugging her goodbye at the end of our wedding weekend extravaganza, my new husband (!) and I felt Meghon was professional, kind, thoughtful, gracious, and endlessly helpful.

Neither my husband nor myself are particularly detail-oriented or knowledgeable about the ins and outs of wedding planning. Meghon took complete care of the cake and flower details by coordinating with vendors in Truckee. We simply researched the general information we wanted: i.e. type of flowers, cake design. With her extensive experience (she coordinates 16 weddings per summer! for the last several years!) she will always give you appropriate advice and recommendations to your questions and to fill in the gaps of your knowledge (i.e. who gets a corsage? how much cake is needed for your wedding guests? etc.)

Additionally, we had a mishap with our ceremony officiant just two weeks before the wedding! We mentioned this to Meghon and she immediately recommended a nearby and affordable officiant to save the day. Meghon had the perfect sense for us as a couple...our new officiant (Viviane) matched our personalities perfectly and the ceremony was beautiful!

Meghon consistently worked to get us the best deals, and even went so far as to organize a golf outing for my husband's Tahoe bachelor party. She is honest and straight-forward about any and all wedding expenditures, no hidden fees or unexpected surprises (and if you're confused about a price/expense, just ask and she will explain thoroughly!).

The complementary (after submitting venue deposit) wine and food tasting at Sugar Bowl proper is a luxurious and delicious experience (to be shared with a handful of close friends and/or family...4 additional guests) that enables a couple to get a true sense for what their guests will experience during cocktail hour appetizers and the reception. The chef is amazing!

During the week leading up to the wedding, we were quite anxious (understandably as we didn't know what to expect!) about everything from ceremony music to centerpiece set-up. In just 30 minutes of meeting in person with Meghon, all our anxiety was put to rest, she knows exactly how to handle all situations! The ceremony/cocktail hour/reception/bonfire after party went off without a hitch...I was unaware of even one scheduling, food, alcohol, etc. "issue"...Meghon and her team handled every detail calmly, kindly, perfectly.

If it weren't such a generally exhausting process, Dan and I would get married again and again at Sugar Bowl!

Working with Meghon was wonderful and helped make the planning and execution remarkably stress-free. She kept us on the right timeline for making decisions, providing reminders as well as lots of suggestions about local resources for music, flowers, cake, etc.

It was also wonderful having the entire lodge for our guests throughout the weekend; our core group of family members arrived on Wednesday evening and stayed until Sunday, which gave us some very special time together before everyone else arrived. And it was great that so many people were staying at the wedding site and didn't need to worry about driving after the celebration.

Sugar Bowl was the most awesome place to have my daughter's wedding. They took care of everything. I think that the most valuable asset was having the built-in wedding planner. Megan was so sensitive and helpful and when it came to the actual wedding day and event, she basically took over all of the organizational things, even down to the distance between the bridesmaids when walking down the aisle. I can't recommend her enough. The venue was, of course, beautiful and all of the people at Sugar Bowl so helpful -- a wonderful event!! Thanks for the opportunity to recommend you!!

Our perfect wedding turned out that way in large part due to the fantastic job and professionalism of Meghon and the Sugar Bowl staff. They were kind, courteous, helpful, and fun. We enjoyed everyone we came into contact with from the gardeners to the cooks, wait staff, bartenders, etc. Having the entire place to ourselves for the entire weekend was glorious. Being surrounded by family and friends the night before and the morning after really made it a special occassion that so many could relax and enjoy all weekend long.

Sugar Bowl was just the perfect place for my now husband and I. Overall, the scenery was stunning, the staff helpful, the food delicious, and the weekend unforgettable.
We made a long weekend out of it. On Thursday we had an outdoor movie night, and Sugar Bowl provided the guests with popcorn and soda. They even had blankets when it got cold!
On Friday a bear stumbled across the property, and all of our out-of-state guests at the Lodge LOVED it (how did you do it Allison?!?) The same day we had the rehearsal dinner at Lake Mary, which was so lovely as we got to spend the day down at the lake. Everyone in the wedding was invited to the Lake (not the rehearsal), and Sugar Bowl provided us with stand up paddle boards and a canoe! People LOVED that. We brought some food and people wandered in an out over the course of the day. I HIGHLY recommend this option.
Saturday was perfect in so many ways. We did the Disney chairlift, which you should 100% do if it is within your budget. My nephew and his wife couldn't take their infant on the lift, so Allison arranged for them to be driven up in a truck! The food was just AMAZING (we had lamb due to my family's kiwi heritage). The kids could run around on the lawn during the speeches, which they loved.
Finally, the staff went the extra mile. One staff member insisted I get to try all the food up at the cocktail hour. Another staff member found my friend's lost jewelry after the event and mailed it back to her free of charge. Everybody was smiling and helpful and just the best.

Sugar Bowl turned out to be a great place to have a calm, relaxed, beautiful and delicious wedding. It would be hard to beat Sugar Bowl in value for a destination wedding. It was also great to be able to house 90 people directly on-site, and the remainder of the guests within 15 minutes.

We were caught in between two wedding coordinators (change occurred 2 months before wedding) but the changeover went well and the wedding went off without a hitch. The setting was amazing--natural beauty that can't be topped. Most important was that all the organization planning worked perfectly on the day of the wedding, AND the food (much to my surprise) was topnotch. The wedding reception dinner for 130 people was just as well prepared, hot, fresh and tasty as the tasting for six had been three months before. I had expected the quality to go down but it did not. The salads, veggies and sides, salmon, beef, pasta and chicken were all amazingly well prepared. Kudos to the chef and team!!!

The flowers were done privately by the former wedding coordinator, and the coordination between her and Sugar Bowl was also seamless. (I have reviewed Meghon separately and would recommend her heartily.) The decorations we provided were placed and hung just as we requested.

My only criticism is that it would have been nice to have some market umbrellas shade us during the outdoor ceremony; plus the deck heaters could have been turned on earlier in the evening since it got chilly. These however are small things that did not mar our occasion. The alcohol was more expensive than we would have liked; but Sugar Bowl cooperated with our bringing some wine from off site.

I would strongly recommend Sugar Bowl, and would happily hold another event there. How great to have a business that really delivers what it promises with solid organization and a quality product.

Sugar Bowl gave us the best possible wedding weekend we could ask for - from the timely, professional and patient correspondence in the planning of our event to the wonderful food and service throughout our wedding weekend, I can honestly say that I can't imagine a more fun and memorable way to get married. Meghon and her assistant Amanda were outstanding in their efforts to make sure that everything went according to plan and were extremely diligent and accommodating in handling any problems that came up (which was bound to happen). My fiancee and I wanted to have a "mountain wedding" in the Tahoe area. After looking at ten or so venues throughout the region, one thing because clear: Sugar Bowl Ski Resort would provide impeccible service and understand our busy lives througout the planning process. The entire staff was completely responsive and helpful from the moment we took the initial site tour to the moment we left the venue the day after the wedding. The wedding coordinators paid attention to details that I would not have even thought of throughout the planning process. The food was excellent and they provided a kid-friendly buffet at a reduced rate - was helped on expenses because the wedding was a family-friendly event. All and all, the wedding was everything we dreamed of and we cannot imagine having it anywhere else!

From the stunning mountain views overlooking Lake Mary to the incredible experience provided, every moment was magical. We had an amazing wedding at Sugar Bowl and we're so thankful to the entire Sugar Bowl team! The location is stunning and even better than the pictures show. We had to switch up our schedule on the fly because of weather and the guest raved about how seamless it was all handled by the Sugar Bowl team. We waited out the rain indoors, they served out guests drinks and appetizers early, then once the weather subsided, they hustled to get everything ready and we were still able to have the outdoor wedding of our dreams. The event felt very personal and unique. All our guests loved staying at the lodge and accommodations were better than we expected.

Lisa, Sarah and the Sugar Bowl staff were wonderful to work with. Bob kept the party going at the bar and Mary was attentive to anything our guests needed. The house keeping staff were speedy and reliable. Jose made sure everything we needed was provided. The entire Sugar Bowl team went above and beyond to make our day special.

Everything was amazing. The food and staff and location were all great! Everyone that attended was impressed. I would highly reccomend.

My husband and I got married at the Sugar Bowl Village Lodge on August 23rd. Before I get into just how awesome the staff was the weekend of our wedding, just a few reasons that we chose Sugar Bowl:

1. Compared to the outdoor venues we were looking at the in the San Francisco Bay Area and the other ski resorts in the area, Sugar Bowl was an absolute steal! Plus, included in the price is Meghon, their in-house wedding planner, who seriously kept me sane during the planning process, as well as free lift tickets when you come to do your tasting.

2. The Village Lodge is yours for the weekend. No other people to deal with. Just you and your loved ones. The bridal suite is also comped.

As for the wedding itself, I am definitely a Type A person who did a ton of DIY before the wedding. I showed up to Sugar Bowl Friday afternoon and was tired, stressed, and worried about how things would turn out. Come Friday night, though, I was completely relaxed and was able to truly enjoy the wedding weekend. Every time I turned around, something else had been set up perfectly by the staff--decorations, cake, flowers, DJ equipment. I didn't have to lift a finger all weekend. They coordinated everything with the vendors as well. They took care of the entire rehearsal dinner, the post-rehearsal festivities, the wedding, reception, and Sunday brunch. Literally, everything was perfect, and this was huge because it let me bask in the happiness of marrying the man I love. There's also a lot of freedom to customize your wedding into something that reflects you and your partner. Meghon was totally open to all our ideas (even the crazy ones!). We had hiking, yoga, lawn games, post-rehearsal pizza, bride & groom cock

Sugar Bowl was an absolutely amazing venue! The staff, especially Meghon (the wedding coordinator), were more than happy to accommodate any of our wishes. A bride and groom should never be told "no" in regards to making their day the best it could be and we never heard it once! The only reason they got a lower score on responsiveness was due to Meghon's vacation in May when the hand-off of coordination duties was not as smooth as it could have been. However, the staff was pleasant to deal with and all issues were resolved.

We have/will continue to recommend Sugar Bowl to any couple beginning to plan their wedding. Our day couldn't have been more perfect! We are already planning our vow renewal there in 9 years!

The delicious appetizers were put out on a tiny table next to the bar where no one could get to them. It was also unnoticeable. Very little was eaten. Had it been in a better spot they would have disappeared. That was money thrown down the drain. Our suggestion is to put them out on a bigger table right in the center of the grass not located next to the bar which attracts big crowds and lines so when people are milling around they will see it.

Lisa and her team helped us create our absolute dream wedding. It created such a great atmosphere to have everyone on site for the whole weekend. Food was not a hight priority on our list when choosing venues, but the Sugar Bowl catering exceeded all expectations. Lisa worked with us to understand what options were available to us for each event of the weekend, so we were able to create the exact event that worked for us and our guests. Highly recommend!

The venue at Lake Mary is about as beautiful as one can imagine. Sugar bowl was very professional and efficient. The sugar bowl wedding planner, Lisa, was a delight to work with!

To start, my husband and I had the wedding of our dreams at the Lake Mary ceremony and reception site at Sugar Bowl.​ The day was imperfectly perfect: despite a thick layer of smoke from the surrounding wildfires and very gusty winds in the afternoon, everything turned out so wonderfully that these weather concerns only added to the day (I'm not kidding-- the wind cleared away the smoke, then died down in the evening, and whatever residual haze was left made for the most gorgeous sunset!).

Our vision was a "rustic elegant" outdoor wedding that felt like we were deep in the woods, but we still wanted comfort and accessibility for our older guests. Lake Mary was the perfect venue for this. It feels so remote and tucked away in the mountains, but has all the necessary facilities right there (bathroom and kitchen), plus some paved pathways for easy mobility. We had a smallish wedding (70 guests) and didn't want to feel like we were in a space that was too big for our size. Again, Lake Mary was the perfect fit for our guest count plus band and vendor team. Finally, we wanted the space to be fun and flexible, and once again, Lake Mary with its horseshoe pit, fire pit, wooden deck, canoes and lake paths fulfilled our vision on every level. The setting is absolutely gorgeous and once dusk sets in, it is really magical.

As far as services go, the Sugar Bowl team was fantastic. They wanted to fulfill our vision and were extremely flexible with us. I don't think Allison ever told us "no!" When you choose Sugar Bowl for your venue you truly are getting a full-service wedding planner on your wedding day with Allison and her team: they worked their butt off for us! I will say that communicating long distance in the months before the wedding was difficult, however. We were not local to Tahoe and I found it challenging to get a hold of the team by phone and email in the height of wedding season, and as our day grew closer I became increasingly worried about delayed email responses and unanswered questions. However, I needn't have been, because once we arrived with our boxes of decor and plans, Allison and her team were terrific about the setup, working with our tricky beverage limits and food allergies (the food itself is fantastic, the other reviews don't lie!). They adapted items to be wind-proof, knew how to place decorative items beautifully, and were really sweet about making sure we felt comfortable and happy. When the winds prevented us from having an open fire in the pit and threatened our s'more station, Allison provided a gas fire rental for free. It's for these reasons that we're so glad we went with a small locally-run business like Sugar Bowl, because they truly cared about making our big day special (vs. some other venues that just want to make money!).

Finally, some fun facts I would have liked to know when planning: We got married in August, and though there were lots of gnats, there were NO mosquitoes or yellow jackets! The high was 78ish: on a hotter day, the deck in the direct sun would have been very hot, but it was perfect for us with some umbrella rentals. We were glad we rented extra toilets, and our guests had a blast with the canoe!

I wanted to be married "out of town"... my now husband!!! suggested we at least check out sugar bowl... the second we parked I knew it was the place. We took a tour with Meghon and picked a date the next day :) our dream wedding took place in a dream spot, it is truly a gorgeous and unique venue and with the lodge for your guests it makes the weekend feel more complete. They were flexible and helpful at every turn....not to mention the after hours party option in the basement !!! Our guests partied until 5 am and we didn't hear a peep after we crawled into bed either :). The food was delicious too-we had the halibut and I was so nervous to have fish at my wedding but it was YUMMY! I'm honestly hoping a friend gets married there so I can go as a guest!!!! Sugar Bowl was an absolutely beautiful backdrop for our rehearsal dinner and wedding! We had to settle on a Monday because they only book one wedding per weekend, but it was worth it. Megan was very responsive leading up to the wedding and made price adjustments to stay within our budget. She also did our flowers, which turned out lovely. My only complaint was she didn't replace the lodge flowers remaining from the Saturday wedding prior, so they looked old and dead. Her assistant Pat served as the "day-of coordinator" and he was super helpful and flexible. We had a few minor glitches (crooked candles, an inkless pen), but overall the ceremony went smoothly. Lisa and Julie took care of our lodging and even surprised us with wedding cake/fruit/champagne that night in the honeymoon suite. Your wedding day is guaranteed to be very memorable at Sugar Bowl!

We had a memorable wedding at the Sugar Bowl facility and everything went smoothly. The quality of the food and the venue were both wonderful and Megan, the wedding planner was very professional.

Our experience was fantastic - beautiful venue, very organized, and delicious food. We had numerous comments how wonderful the wedding/recepetion was.

We just had our wedding at Sugar Bowl just over a week ago and overall it was a great experience. The venue itself is just so beautiful, from the lawn ceremony spot to the reception deck. The lawn is kept so nicely and the deck has pretty lights hanging above the festivities. There are also beautiful spots all over for photos. It was also fun to have everyone staying at the Lodge for the weekend. I felt like it helped us see our guests more, which was so nice. I will have to say it was pretty stressful in the weeks running up to the wedding, since you are on the hook for every room (not a percentage of them like any other hotel). The price for the rooms ($200/night) is a little steep for the quality, but it was convenient for guests to stay onsite.

The food was probably what really set Sugar Bowl apart from other venues. Everyone came up to us raving about their dinner and one guest even said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had! And the Sugar Bowl servers and other staff were also awesome. So friendly and helpful! I will have to say that I was a little disappointed in the day-of coordinating that was included in the site fee. Allison was very hard to get ahold of in the weeks before the wedding and there were a few glitches that day that could have easily been prevented with a little more attention. I would honestly recommend hiring a day-of coordinator separately.
