Sugar Beach Events catered my wedding at Maui Pineapple Chapel in June. My guests are STILL talking about the delicious food that was served! I was so impressed with the entire process—they were very communicative throughout planning, responding promptly to my questions via my planner. Our tasting was really thorough and beautifully presented. We did choose a few of the dishes, but what really impressed me was that they agreed to serve a dish that was not included in the tasting, nor did it appear on their online menu. I really wanted Kalbi ribs on my wedding day and they agreed to make it especially for us! My guests got to choose between a really delicious fish dish and the ribs and everyone said it was absolutely divine. On wedding day, I was really impressed by the staff that was in attendance. While I was getting touched up before family photos, a very sweet staff member came to the bridal suite to make sure I was able to eat one of the passed appetizers since I wouldn’t get much time during cocktail hour. During dinner, everyone got plenty to eat and my guests were raving about the food. I knew at the tasting that I was making the right decision in hiring Sugar Beach Events to cater my wedding, but they exceeded every expectation I had! Thank you so much for giving my guests delicious food on my wedding day! -

Sugar Beach Events was at the top of our list to choose for our destination wedding before the pandemic. It was a lot of discussion and planning to decide whether it would be a good idea to hold a wedding during this time. I'm so glad we went for it and everything fell in to place. The location, service and people are all amazing. It was hard to pass this up. We plan to visit during their off days to join in their other services. I highly recommend SBE for your next destination wedding. -

Dream Wedding
Our magical day went so smoothly from start to finish. Kristen responded to our many questions immediately, sometimes late in the evening.
The grounds were impeccable and oh that sunset view for our special day. The interior, bar and grounds are so stunning. If you are planning a wedding or special event, this is the spot.
The bridal suite was so tastefully done, providing a professional steamer and wet bar for make up or hand washing.
The champagne list was amazing as well as the desserts created by Chef Lee. . The sever was spot on, making our guests feel comfortable and safe.
Sugar Beach events will always hold a sacred place in our hearts! -

My husband and I recently got married at Sugar Beach. We had such an amazing experience from the start working with Kristen and Ashley. We got engaged in Kauai and when we came back to California and looked at some venues and we could not find any that felt right, so we decided to look at venues in Hawaii. We finally decided on Sugar beach after reading so many good reviews, as well as speaking with Ashley and looking at everything they were going to offer us. As we all know its so difficult to book and make decisions from so far away, but Kristen walked us through every step and gave us a time line and advice as we started moving forward. She made the process seem seamless.
Our day from start to finish was absolutely beautiful. We cannot imagine having to have gotten married anywhere else. The venue is beautiful, the setting for the ceremony is breathtaking, the food is delicious and as I have said the service is amazing! We would definitely recommend this venue to any person who is considering it. -

We had our wedding there on 10/11/2019. It was more beautiful than we ever could have imagined! Kristen was such a blessing!! She helped make our vision come to life. She was so attentive and responded to our many many emails so promptly. She made the wedding planning process so much easier. Sugar Beach has a list of vendors that you choose from, and ever vendor was beyond amazing!!! Kristen and the whole staff made that day so magical and we can’t say thank you enough!! 💜❤️ -

Thank you so incredibly much to Kristen and the Team @ Sugar Beach Events, My wedding was a month ago, and my family and friends have not stopped talking about the amazing time they had at my wedding. They were so impressed by EVERYTHING, the food, drinks, friendliness of staff, and most important, the location. What first caught my eye, when researching wedding venues, was the breathtaking view @ Sugar Beach Events and the moment i saw it in person i knew it was it! Kristen and Gabrielle were amazing, they made me like i was their priority each time i reached out to them, always getting back to me same day, no matter what! I thought planning a wedding from the stats would be a challenge, but it was quite the opposite. I never once felt overwhelmed or stressed out, in any way. I can honestly say, Kristen, the best wedding planner ever, made my dream wedding absolutely perfect, and i can not thank her enough. She is so considerate, has an amazing personality, and truly cares about her clients. There is not one thing i would change. If someone if thinking about having a destination wedding, then Sugar Beach Events is their place, they will not be disappointed. -

The entire process was easy and enjoyable from the minute I reached out to Sugar Beach Events for our wedding- not to mention BEAUTIFUL! Looking back on the wedding day, it seems like something out of a magazine! Kristen, Gabrielle and Ashley were so quick to respond and were beyond patient with our 10,000 questions and requests. Kristen always took the time to listen to my vision and her suggestions exceeded expectations. The day of the wedding, every single Sugar Beach Events staff person and vendor was amazing, attentive, and professional. It was more than we could have ever imagined! Not to mention the quality of food that was served- every item was delicious and perfect. We wholeheartedly recommend the team at Sugar Beach Events! -

Perfect wedding venue
Take this from someone who has planned a lot of large-scale events in her career - Sugar Beach Events team is on another level in their professionalism, attentiveness, and execution mastery.
We had an absolutely perfect wedding from top to bottom. SO many people kept asking if I was nervous or anxious throughout the wedding planning process and every time, my honest answer was "not at all." Kristen and Gabrielle were extremely responsive and followed up with us every step of the way to make sure we were on track with our side of the planning. The day-of coordination was on point. Kristen gave us honest and prompt feedback on all the vendors when we were going through all our options, and she was transparent about the pricing and offerings so we never had any doubts or fuzziness about the process and what we were paying.
The venue: it's a perfect setting for a wedding - so much better than a giant hotel/resort where you're being gawked at by hundreds of hotel guests and you're just one of thousands of guests the venue may be serving at any given moment. At Sugar Beach, YOU and your event are the ONLY thing the whole venue is focused on, and the setting makes for a perfectly intimate event just for you and your guests. The lawn and the beach frame the sunset perfectly for the most gorgeous photos. The amenities in the house - like the bridal suite, the upstairs balcony, even the bathrooms - make the day-of experience super seamless (you don't have to go back and forth between the salon, the dress, etc).
The food was excellent - there are so many options to choose from and they are all delicious. Again, having the entire kitchen and chef (CHEF LEE FOR THE WIN) dedicated to your wedding has so many advantages - in how flexible they are with the menu options and attentiveness to each individual guest's dietary restrictions. This was definitely a highlight that our guests raved about after the wedding.
Overall, I can't think of a single thing that was missing or lacking in the wedding - it truly was a wedding of our dreams and we are forever grateful for the Sugar Beach Events team for all their hard work to make it happen. MAHALO!! -

I don’t even know where to start. The place is absolutely stunning, the chef is extremely talented, and the staff were attentive and wonderful. We were lucky enough to have great weather the entire time, it was a little windy, but we were able to have our ceremony and dinner outside, with a perfect sunset. Darren from Bliss worked with Sugar Beach to get our menu situated, let me tell you, people are still talking about that food. We didn’t want to make people chose one protein, so we ended up going with a buffet that included fish, steak, and pork. Chef Lee threw down and laid out a mean spread of food. The deserts were phenomenal. We should have brought some sweatpants for later. Kristin, the captain, was super sweet and attentive, there to help Ayron and I out if we needed something. To everyone at Sugar Beach Events that helped that day, Misa, Nik, Todd, Benjamin, Tatiana and Melanie, thank you. Our day was what it was because of your help. It was a day Ayron and I will never forget. We will be forever grateful! -

Beautiful venue and amazing staff
We are so happy that we choose Sugar Beach Events! My husband and I knew we wanted a destination beach wedding but planning it from thousands of miles away made us very uncertain. However, we are so thankful when we found Sugar Beach Events and started working with Kristen. She was amazing and so easy to work with! As busy as we were, Kristen made sure we were on top of it all. She answered all of our questions (we had million questions!) and reassured us everything would work out. Our experience from start to finish was great. From the initial consultation via email to the day after our wedding (guests left items). We loved it all!
We were both a bit nervous on the our wedding day (hoping nothing goes wrong) but knowing Kristen was there made it all better. We felt like we did not have to worry. We can truly say that our wedding day was our kind of perfect and we would not have changed anything. From the beautiful venue and delicious food to the amazing staff members. Our guests raved about the food (especially the appetizers and popcorn).
All the staff members at Sugar Beach Events were very welcoming and kind to us and our guests. It seemed that they knew how overwhelmed the bride and groom could be and it felt as though they were looking out for us. During the reception, we found our sweetheart table filled with appetizers that we had not gotten a chance to try since we were busy talking to our family, friends and taking photos. They also added a very sweet touch to our special day by sending us off with two slices of our wedding cake, that we also did not get a chance to eat.
The place were staying at was only a feet away and so we took a little bit longer with our loud group to leave the venue but we did not feel rushed at all.
We cannot express how grateful we are for the amazing experience! We would like to thank Sugar Beach Events and the staff members for making our wedding day extra special. The venue felt magical and the staff was the perfect touch. I am getting a bit emotional just writing this review. Again, thank you!

When my mom and I were scouting out venues the moment that we walked in we knew right away this place was it, we ended up canceling the rest of our appointments that day because this place just had everything we were looking for. Food and drinks were at the top of our list and Chef Lee's creativity with her food presentation was one of my favorite things about this place, not to mention how delicious everything was. Our guests would not stop talking about how amazing the food was and how beautiful this venue is. We loved how we were able to transition to different areas of the venue and yet everything was still so intimate. Kristen was a DREAM and I mean DREAM to work with! I am a planner myself so for me I always had a ton of questions throughout the whole process and Kristen was always so responsive and patient. Everyone kept telling me how calm I was leading up to the wedding and that is because I knew I was in good hands with her. Not once did I ever feel stressed out, Kristen took care of it all and knew exactly what I wanted (even when we forgot the map to bustle my dress, Kristen figured it out like a pro!). I wish I had the time to go up to every single person on staff and give them a huge hug because they were just so amazing! Not once did I have to go to the bar to refill my drink as the servers knew exactly what I was drinking and made sure I always had a fresh drink. Now that is service! Chef Lee- you have created and mastered the absolute perfect experience that a wedding couple should have when they get married. Your venue is absolutely gorgeous and yet it feels so intimate. Your staff is top notch and you truly made us feel like we were the only couple getting married at your venue and we weren't just another number. Kristen - Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything that you did! I wish I could work with you all the time!! -
Nicole Sent on 10/13/2017This was more than we had hoped for in our dream wedding and reception venue! Everything, literally everything went off without any issues. From day one of contacting the venue, they were very responsive and super helpful! We started working with Denise and she was amazing! She did leave in the midst of our planning, but handed the reigns over to Kristen who was just as amazing! It was an easy transition, with no bumps! Kristen did an incredible job with every aspect! We couldn’t have asked for more! This was such a perfect evening for us. She made my vision come to life! Absolutely stunning beach setting great for those sunset pics, gorgeous bridal sweet, private ceremony (no beach goers watching), perfect venue! The food was top notch, the waitstaff was incredible, the officiant was superb, the drinks were strong, the flowers were gorgeous, the fire thrower was sooo cool, the dj kept me dancing all night long, the photographer was outstanding, and everyone there was so attentive! Every vendor Kristen recommended was more than we dreamed of! She was so incredibly helpful, and always very responsive! She really made this such a memorable day for us! I’m so happy we chose this place! You should too! You won’t regret it!

My husband and I were looking for a private venue that was right on the beach, but also wanted the option to have the reception to be indoors. We were visiting Maui in July and made an appointment to come see the venue and we were just blown away by how beautiful the garden and building itself was. We went ahead and booked with Kristen and her team right after that visit!
The whole planning process was made really easy with Kristen. She was always quick to respond to any of our e-mails and really kept us on track, but never in a pushy way lol. Thank you, Kristen! I always thought planning a wedding would be insanely difficult, but she made it really easy for us!
The vendors that were recommended by SBE were amazing! They all did an amazing job for our special day and I'm so thankful we went with each and every one of them! However, do be aware that if you bring an off island vendor, there will be a mandatory management fee that must be paid. We wish we had known that prior to bringing in our off island photographers.
Lastly, the food that we chose were show stoppers. All of our guests loved all the cocktail food, kudos to Chef Lee for an amazing spread of delicious bites throughout the evening!

This is long overdue, as I wanted to put in some meaningful thought and give the Sugar Beach team a review that did them justice! There were many caterers to choose from on Maui, but after much research (aka social media stalking) and after exchanging initial emails, I felt that their style, approach, and overall communication set them above the rest.
I'd like to give a massive shout out to Jessica for helping me plan out the menu, going back and forth on the number of hors d'oeuvres to order, and answering any little detail that popped into my head over the 18 month planning process. Never did she drop the ball or make me feel like a bridezilla :).
On the day of our wedding, the Sugar Beach crew went above and beyond to make our guests feel welcome, have fun, and of course fed us with some of the best food we've had at a wedding! I didn't get a chance to meet the crew personally, but many of our guests commented on the great service and accommodations they took care of even without us noticing. You really pay for what you get! I'd highly recommend the poke bar (such a hit!) and creme brulee stations; they were such a treat for our guests and the poke bar especially gave them that true, Maui vibe.
If food and drinks are a big ticket item for you on your wedding, no doubt Sugar Beach will fit the bill. They offer fine dining level cuisine, amazing service throughout the whole planning and post (clean-up) process, and would recommend them to anyone getting married on Maui!

We are so happy we picked Sugar Beach Events for our wedding venue. Kristin, our wedding planner, made everything an absolute BREEZE. I do not think this could have been any easier. The vendors they recommend are absolutely amazing as well. They do everything they can to make your day match your expectations as much as possible. The ONLY reason I did not give a full 5 stars was the food. Unfortunately, after having an amazing tasting months before our wedding, the food we received on our actual wedding day completely missed the mark. We had very high expectations for the food, and this just was not met. Of course, their customer service is still great, and they felt awful they were not able to meet our food expectations. I think this was a rare glitch on their part though, if you ask around the island, they are pretty much known for their food. We are so bummed we were not able to enjoy that. My one piece of advice for any Brides having their wedding here, BE DETAILED with exactly what you want. Don't be afraid to speak up and ask questions. If you assume they are going to read your mind...you will most likely be disappointing with the outcome. Had I double checked and been more detailed about the food and a couple of other small things, it probably would have come out 100% perfect. I will take a 99% perfect wedding though, ANY DAY. We had our wedding at Sugar Beach in February 2020. We got to do a tasting and meet Kristen and everyone at Sugar Beach right after we got engaged. Kristen was super responsive, attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. For any picture or idea we ran by her, she knew the best ways to make it happen. The venue is GORGEOUS. From the outdoor ceremony with a beach backdrop to the beautiful indoor reception area. There's a lot going on on the day of the wedding but Kristen was calm and organized and made sure everything ran smoothly. We're so thankful for Kristen and the Sugar Beach team and couldn't have asked for a better coordinator and venue to have our wedding at.
