Whisk and Paddle is amazing! We ordered a champagne Strawberry cake for our wedding day and it was so beautiful and delicious! I love that they bake you a mini 4 inch cake on your one year anniversary, free of charge! My husband and I are so grateful for their professionalism and care they took in baking our cake for our wedding day, it looked beautiful and it makes looking back on the photos so special. Top-tier experience!
Everyone RAVED about the delicious strawberry and champagne layer where we also added raspberry preserves. It was absolute perfection! I also fell in love with a very simple, elegant style that was made with fondant, but, personally don't like the taste of fondant. Holly & Erica were willing to try it out on buttercream. The TEST cake looked beautiful but the actual cake on delivery was AMAZING and exactly what we envisioned. We also ordered chocolate tartlettes and dessert shooters for guests wanting something besides cake and they DISAPPEARED. Everyone raved at the fantastic offerings. These ladies made the experience wonderful. They also delivered all the way to Peoria for a reasonable charge. I absolutely would not hesitate to recommend this perfect wedding dessert bakery 100%. I can't say enough good things about the experience all the way around!

Whisk and Paddle made our cake and macaroons for our wedding at The Paseo. The owner, Erica, was wonderful throughout the whole process. From cake tasting, coming up with the design, answering questions, and finalizing before the big day, Erica was very responsive and helpful. Amazing wedding cake
We worked with Erica for our wedding cake and she was super patient with us. We had changed our minds and tossed different ideas around many times. Perfect Experience For Our Wedding!
We used Whisk & Paddle for our wedding deserts (at the Landmark). We did a small wedding cake and a desert spread (cupcakes, brownies, cookies, smores tarts). All the deserts were delicious and our guests loved having a bunch of different options instead of just 1 big cake. Whisk & Paddle were great to work with, very communicative over email. Erica and her team absolutely worked wonders on our cake for our wedding day. From the initial consultation to the finished product and everything in between, Erica was very flexible and willing to meet our many requests. We made a last minute decision to change our whole cake design a week before the wedding and she met the challenge unphased and executed on our vision FLAWLESSLY, it truly blew the Pinterest inspo out of the water. She was very understanding of the many challenges that come from organizing a wedding and was very flexible with her timeline as ours kept changing constantly. We were absolutely in love with how our cake turned out and are very happy to have picked Erica and the Whisk and Paddle team to bake our cake. The ladies at Whisk & Paddle were amazing! Our wedding cake and desserts were absolutely delicious. We did a small 2-tier cake for the wedding party and did a dessert spread for our guests (tiramisu shooters, cheesecake bites, cookies, and s'mores tarts). Our guests asked which desserts they should try and I could only tell them EVERYTHING. Our original plan for our desserts fell through and we found whisk & paddle two weeks from the wedding- they were so flexible and understanding and made amazing desserts even with the short timeframe we gave them. 10/10 would buy desserts from them again!

It was such a blessing when our wedding venue had us choose from 2 bakeries as part of the package they offered. Not only did we end up with an amazing cake but we didn't even have to do any of the work of finding this fantastic bakery! The cake was perfectly simplistic on the outside and absolutely delicious on the inside with a different flavor for each tier. The additional cannolis we also ordered were so good. They even asked how heavy our topper was and added extra supports to make sure it was supported, something I wouldn't have even thought about!

Sue Jacobs is a sweetheart who makes the most delicious sweets!
We had a dessert bar with a beautiful two tier cake, cheesecake bars, churros, & donuts. We ordered extra dessert for our party size, and holy cow, it was almost all gone! I thought I’d have extra EXTRA for myself afterwards. Everyone was asking where her bakery was and how they could get some more to go!
The cheesecake was especially a hit, which was great because it’s my husband’s favorite.
She remained very flexible through our covid postponement and this busy wedding season. She was a delight to meet and sample cakes with.
So, in short I highly recommend!

I found and ended up going with Sue Jacob's Cakes for our wedding cake because she uses real frosting, not fondant. We had a 2 tier wedding cake with carrot cake (no nuts) and spice cake with cream cheese frosting then had cupcakes as well which were also spice, carrot cake and chocolate chocolate chip. All the guests really enjoyed them, they were moist and not overly sweet. The spice cake was still very delicious even a few days later.

Very thankful we chose Sue Jacobs for cake and desserts at our wedding. From the first meeting Sue was inviting, helpful and thoughtful. Sue made sure to check in with us regularly to make sure everything that we would want or need for the wedding would be taken care of. Sue Jacobs really does have the best cake. We were searching for a cake for our wedding that happened this past January. I like sweet cake and my wife doesn't do sweets all that much. However, after having Sue Jacobs cake, I don't think there is any better. It is just sweet enough to satisfy the sweet tooth but is not heavy on your stomach like all the other cakes I have had. We ordered flowers to put on the cake as well and she did a great job of putting the flowers on the cake as well. We had the top three layers as almond vanilla and the bottom layer as red velvet and it turned out perfectly. I highly recommend using them for any type of occasion, especially a wedding.

We first met Sue Jacobs at our venue's open house, and she is delightful and full of positive energy. Upon tasting her cake at our venue's open house, we knew we had a winner! We wanted a cake that wasn't too sweet, and that's exactly what we found. When we went to the tasting at her bakery, we were given the most popular flavors, and that made it easy to narrow down our favorites. We had a four tier cake and choose three flavors: lemon poppyseed cake with lemon whip filling (our favorite), pink champagne cake with strawberry cream filling, and chocolate chocolate chip cake with milk chocolate filling. Each of the flavors were not too sweet, moist, and very flavorful. On the day of the wedding, the cake not only looked great, but tasted delicious as well! I would recommend Sue Jacobs Cake and use her again in the future.

My husband and I knew the moment we sampled Sue Jacobs Cakes that we found our wedding cake vendor. The pink champagne and Chocolate Chocolate Chip are both to die for!
Working with Sue during the venue open house, the cake tasting, the wedding and every other time in between was so pleasant. Sue treated my husband, our kids and I like family. She had a box of toys readily available when we came in for our tasting which kept our toddler busy the whole time.
Sue came to my wedding early to set up and my best friend was there to help or answer any questions for her. My best friend mentioned how Sue was so pleasant and sweet— something I already knew. Sue’s cakes speak for themselves. My absolute favorite is the Chocolate Chocolate Chip. We had a 4-tier cake with Pink Champagne, Lemon Poppyseed and Chocolate Chocolate Chip. I’ve received so many compliments on the cake flavor choices and I completely understand why. I would DEFINITELY recommend Sue Jacobs Cakes for any occasion.

Best dessert buffet a girl could ask for!
I did not want a wedding cake, much to my mother's chagrin - husband does not like cake, and I've never been a fan of dried out, thin slices of cake that I've had at other weddings. But surprisingly, I was having a hard time finding a good baker that offered any sort of dessert buffet.
In comes Sue with the dessert buffet of my dreams! I met Sue at her bakery, gave her my vision, chose the different confections, and she made it come true! Her sweet, caring personality comes through in the confections that she bakes, and she was wonderful and easy to work with!
Her dessert and cake flavor selections are plentiful and SUPER delicious, but it was hard coming to a consensus on what we wanted because I wanted ALL OF IT! We ended up going with brownies, silver-dusted donuts, cake pops, and mini cupcakes - all of our guests raved about the desserts and we barely had any left at the end of the night!
Thank you so much Sue, we appreciate all of the hard work you and your team put in to make our wedding dessert buffet the best!

So yummy and so affordable!
I love Sue!! She is the sweetest, kindest, funniest person and her treats are AMAZING! She did a small cake for us and let us customize it exactly to our liking, including making each tier a different flavor, and she did donuts for us that were out of this world. I've literally never had a better donut. Highly recommend.

Delicious Desserts.
I loved how Sue runs her business. You go to her shop and taste everything. We were able to adjust some due to allergies of our guests. We got every flavored covered especially since it was going to be the fall season we had a variety. Everyone loved the desserts and had a variety to choose from which made them happy. Thank you so much for making our dessert selection so wonderful.

Sue Jacob was given to us as a part of our venue package. We were very impressed when we met with her at her shop. She was very polite, had lots of ideas. and most importantly had samples for us! Her cakes are made with of a homemade frosting recipe which is to die for! We did not want fondant, her frosting was amazing. Everyone liked her cake we had plenty of left overs to take home that was nice.

Sue was so great to work with! She makes amazing and delicious cakes and they are very affordable! For the tasting she has so many options to taste, and it’s free to taste! Her cakes and frosting are absolutely divine, and It looked incredible! I love that she doesn’t use fondont and that her cakes still look so perfect with her frosting. Sue is also a super sweet person which made the experience that much better.

Sue was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was so warm and friendly, and offered help wherever I needed it. We requested a very simple cake, but it was done beautifully and was so tasty!! She even provided gluten free cupcakes for a few of our guest. She was very quick on her feet when she learned the florist did not drop off the flowers for the cake. She found a centerpiece that was not necessary and deconstructed it to take what was needed, and then reconstructed the centerpiece to still look great. I would highly recommend Sue Jacobs cakes.

Sue made our wedding cake as she was part of wedding venue package at the wright house. She did a fabulous job and is obviously been doing this for a long time. She responds super quick via email, and my cake was exactly what I had shown her. The cake tastes delicious and i got soo many compliments! You will be happy with Sue, I highly recommend her.

I can not say enough nice things about sue Jacobs cakes. I recommend her to everyone I know. If you love cake then you want sue making yours. Amazing cake, and she's so easy to work with. She took a challenge and ran with it when I wanted to use ecoflowers on my cake. She did an amazing job, we will be hiring her to do more cakes for us in the future. So good. I am dreaming about the cake we have in the freezer. So hard not to eat It!

Sue was very flexible with meeting us and she even let our caterer meet with us at her bakery! We tasted her cakes and instantly fell in love with how moist it was, the flavors were not too sweet and the frosting was creamy. We got a three tier cake that looked like a birch tree. The flavors were chocolate with raspberry and pink champagne with strawberry. I showed her a picture of the design and she made it come to life! Would highly recommend Sue!

Sue is absolutely amazing at what she does and I am so glad we went with her for our wedding cake. She is extremely responsive through email and so friendly upon your consultation and delivery! She surprised me with homemade macaroons in my bridal suite and provided a mini cake to take home. Her cakes are very moist and delicious and she executed my design vision perfectly! She is a preferred vendor from our venue so we received a small discount for using her through them. However I believe her normal prices are very affordable!

Sue was amazing to work with. She captured our vision so perfectly after just one consultation. It looks even better on the cake than it did in my own vision. It looked so good that I almost felt bad cutting into it.
She combined elegance with the personal twists we requested and, above all else, she made it look appetizing. And it tasted incredible! Her cakes are even more delicious than they look, and she offers so many options that it's impossible to not find something you love.
She also added some personal touches to the day (in our dressing room) which were unexpected and delightful! She went above and beyond.
We got tons of compliments on the cake, both for its taste and appearance. We couldn't have asked for a better person to work with on our special day.

Sue was so easy to work with and the cake was seriously the best I have had. We got a 3 tiered cake, all different flavors, all SO delicious. As well as a sheet cake to accommodate my budget and still feed all the people we needed to. My favorite was the champagne with strawberry cream filling! The way she arranged the fresh flowers on my cake was absolutely beautiful and I could not be happier with the whole experience. :)

We had a wonderful consultation and actually planned out a design but that wasn't enough for Sue. She was so intuned to what we wanted that, about a month before the wedding she found a style that fit so much better with our theme. She called me immediately with descriptions and picture. I 100% agreed with her and she immediately changed the cake plans. I was so happy that she was really listening.

Found Sue Jacobs Cakes on Yelp when looking for a cake for my daughter's wedding reception. Sue is great to work with. Everyone loved the cake. I don't think there was any left (except for the top tier that we took inside to save for their anniversary). My daughter decided to go with fresh flowers on her cake and she said the flowers on the cake came out even better than she imagined. If you want a beautiful and delicious cake I definitely recommend Sue Jacobs Cakes!

I have to preface that I am HUGE cake lover. When it comes to eating/trying cake, I CAN be pretty picky. I mean, I love all cake but I know when I am eating some good cake. I knew the cake was amazing the first time that I tried Sue Jacob's at an open house at The View and that nothing would compare. I only tried one flavor so I knew I had to see what else she had. Me and my now husband set up a time and to taste tested a few different flavors. We picked Pink Champagne with one layer of Strawberry and one of Vanilla. All of our guests loved the cake flavors that we chose as well. I had one of my bridesmaid tell me that her boyfriend isn't a sweets person but wound up having 4 piece of cake because it was that good. If you want a fantastic tasting cake that will leave you wanting more, Sue Jacob's is the place for you!

My maid of honor and I went into Sue Jacobs cute cake store for some cake testing for my wedding cake and I was blown away, Sue made it fun plus she had great flavors and it was so hard to pick which flavors I wanted to use, we went with rich vanilla and tropical filling (coconut and pineapple), and I showed a few different pictures of what I wanted and Sue made my cake EXACTLY how I envisioned it and we received a lot of compliments through out the night from our guests! We've had many weddings in many places over the years in our family and they unanimously agreed our cake from Sue was the BEST they have ever had. We all love cake and ordered three times the cake needed for our 25 guests. Sue provided a box so we could save the top for our first anniversary, but needless to say, that beautiful, delicious cake was enjoyed by all until it was gone (including the top!) by the time we were married a mere 48 hours! We chose lemon poppyseed with lemon fillng, pink champagne with strawberry cream, and vanilla with raspberry for our layers. Pink champagne was the slight favorite and everyone was completely in love with her special frosting! We will be visiting Sue for an annversary cake (our out of state family is definatley jealous) - there are so many more fabulous flavors to try. Thank you, Sue - you were wonderful and so accommodating - an absolute delight to work with!

She is honestly the cutest business lady I've met and she has such a lovely passion for cake design. We just got married April 14th and our wedding cake was absolutely beautiful. Best of all, it was fondant free, because she uses the most amazing butter cream frosting that melts in your mouth.
We had a four tier cake and two tiers were chocolate cake with milk chocolate filling and chocolate chips inside, one tier was red velvet with cream cheese filling and the other was a vanilla cake with me on and strawberry swirl filling. This cake was fantastic!
Sue is amazing and her artistry is one of a kind.

We loved Sue! My husband and I did not want to get a cake for our wedding. We met Sue at one of the Open Houses. We tried her cake after coaxing us a bit and we were SOLD! Sue was recommended to us by our photographer SJA Studios. We had already met with one other vendor at the suggestion of a friend who was getting married, but we thought their cakes were too sweet. We only met with Sue once, but she was so sweet and kind. She helped us decide on and choose our wedding cake. We decided on a 3 tier cake with 3 different flavors and fillings. We had chocolate, marble red velvet, and pink champagne. She also gave us a separate top tier cake for us to save as our anniversary cake with directions on how to save it properly. Our wedding cake was white and the bottom tier had a rose floral/swirl design, the middle tier had a sideways pattern with navy ribbon, and the top tier was smooth with gold cascading glitter balls from the top fading down and navy ribbon. We provided our own cake topper and our venue the Boojum Tree provided the cake knife and server. Sue's cakes are both beautiful and delicious and our guests came back for seconds and thirds to try all the flavors. She also offered us a discount for paying in cash.

Sue is not only amazing at making the most beautiful cakes, but she is an awesome person. Our cake was beautiful, delicious, and exactly what we asked for. Sue is kind, generous, and professional. Just two months after the wedding, I already book her to make my nephews birthday cupcakes. She is now my go to any time I need a yummy treat!

Aside from our wedding cake looking absolutely beautiful, it tasted SO good! People kept telling us for days after the wedding that the cake was amazing. Sue Jacobs Cakes is the absolute best! Sue is an absolute peach to work with and she was so attentive to my needs and wants for my wedding cake. She was very sweet and professional in speaking to me through phone, email and in person and every time I spoke with her she left me feeling confident that I would have the cake of my dreams on my wedding. Oh, and her cakes! I've had the pleasure of tasting many flavors and each and every one of them exceeded my expectations. Our wedding cake was absolutely beautiful and perfect, and tasted WONDERFUL! We had the most beautiful wedding cake we could have ever asked for! Sue did an amazing job. We met with Sue about six months before our big day and when we met with her she was so open to our ideas, she took very detailed notes on what we wanted and how she could create our dream cake. We picked very unique flavors that were so perfect to what we liked. She didn't care that it was May and I wanted a pumpkin spice cake she was all about what we wanted and that was so great to actually work with a vendor that values your opinion and let's you have what you want even if it's a little different! Our guests couldn't stop talking about how tasty the cake was, they went back for seconds, and a few were caught stealing cake from other people's place settings! Sue we can't thank you enough for our gorgeous and delicious wedding cake and we can't wait till our anniversary to eat that top layer! It's taunting us in the freezer!

May 14, 2016 wedding. We met with Sue about six weeks prior to our wedding and were provided many choices in many price ranges. I showed her a picture of what I liked on Pinterest and she recreated it for me. Samples of cakes were provided and she was so warm and friendly. There is no way someone would not like her. My cake was beautiful and delicious. The frosting was wonderful and not too sweet. It was ready exactly as planned. I would highly recommend Sue Jacobs.

Sue is fantastic!! Our cake was so beautiful I had a hard time cutting in to it I just wanted to keep it that way forever. It is equally as delicious though and there was not even any left over my guests enjoyed it that much! Sue is also one of the sweetest vendors I had the pleasure of working with and I will be stopping in to see her in the future for other events in our lives as well! :)

Sue was willing to try a customization of our cake. The artist of the family drew 3 pictures and Sue had them printed on edible ink somehow so all 3 layers of the cake were custom drawn by the bride. Sue is fun and thought of everything about the cake. I will only use her in the future!

Delicious and beautiful! We had a little hiccup with our original cake vendor, and Sue made our lovely cake for our wedding with just 12 days notice! I called her and explained the situation, she was so so sweet and understanding. She had my (now) husband and I come in for a tasting the very next day and everything was wonderful. We made our picks and that was that... Excellent service, amazing cakes... could not ask for more!

Delicious! The cake was beautiful. We also had different flavored cupcakes so guests weren't forced to eat only one flavor. I would suggest ordering 50% more than your guest total - everyone wanted to try all of the flavors!

My experience with Sue Jacob's Cakes was phenomenal to say the least! Sue was one of the first vendors my husband and I met in the wedding planning process and she made it so much fun. She is one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of working with and I feel fortunate to have had her be a part of our wedding day. Sue listened to exactly what we wanted and then brought in her expertise to make an amazing wedding cake! She brought a number of options for us to try, though I don't think any of the flavors compare to the lemon chiffon. It is, hands down, my favorite cake I have ever eaten. She was also able to make gluten free cupcakes for a number of our guests, which were a huge hit! I would gladly recommend Sue to anyone and will dream of her lemon chiffon cake for many years to come.

I don't know where to begin?!?!
First let me tell you about Sue, she is absolutely wonderful to work with, she took to the time to meet with my fiance and I to discuss our wedding cake. I gave her pictures that I found on the internet and she was able to create the most gorgeous delicious cake. She is great at letting you know how many other weddings she is doing, which I thought was really nice because she knows how to pace herself with weddings, she never takes on more than she can handle. She was great getting back to me when I would email her and she is great at confirming what it is that she is doing and what flavors you picked out and what not.
Now her to cake! It was sooooo good!! We chose flavors that I personally didn't think that I would like, but they were soooo good!! Her cake is so light and moist and flavorful and the icing is light and sweet, most icings are really thick and heavy but Sue's icing is fabulous! For our flavors we chose pink champagne and lemon poppy seed, my mouth is watering writing this review!
