Best Decision We Made

Style and Story was the very first vendor we hired. The photography was the top importance for us and we knew we had to have the best. They did not disappoint! We did both our engagement photos and wedding with Maykell and he is just amazing. Great personality, so much energy, really knows how to get the right shot. Neither of us are models and the idea of acting cute or romantic in front of others was a challenge. But Maykell knew exactly how to get authentic and emotional shots, half the time without us even realizing it was happening!

For our engagement photos we ran him all over town, even taking him out on a broken old railroad bridge! And then at the wedding, he let us soak him with champagne just to get the spray shot. He put up with our crazy families, us being stressed about capturing everything possible, and posing our excited dogs. He was just amazing. Couldn’t recommend him enough.

While I would say Style and Story is higher end budget wise, they are worth every penny!

Photography that truly captures the moment!

Style and Story captured our interest early on in our wedding planning process. I looked at several photographers but I kept coming back to S&S because of their vibrant color and artistic style of photography. Our main photographer was Maykell and he did fabulous work for both our engagement photos and our wedding photos. He was very generous with his time, responsive to emails and texts and answered any and all questions in great detail along the way. His turn around time on photos was incredible! We had our engagement photos back within a week and our wedding photos back within a month of the wedding! We hired a second photographer for the wedding to shoot alongside of Maykell and between the two of them, they covered all angles of each part of the night! The way Style and Story reveals your wedding photos to you is by inviting you to their studio for a viewing party where 12 of their favorite photos are blown up on their display wall and then they show you the digital album on the projector screen. It’s amazing and such a fun way to see your wedding photos for the first time! We are so glad that we chose Style and Story to capture our wedding day!

Words cannot describe

We could never say enough good things about Maykell and Style & Story. They were much more than our “wedding photographer.” Their whole involvement was a true experience that we were so lucky and happy to have. Our pics are loved by all our family and friends and our house is plastered with probably way too many prints. Even the reveal itself was so emotionally moving and brought back a flood of feelings from the wedding day. You will never regret money spent on fantastic photography and video to capture the day.
They truly care about you, their work, and delivering their style, all while satisfying your needs and desires.

Our Easiest Wedding Decision

Style & Story and its incredible photographers have been the calm within the storm of wedding planning from the very beginning of our engagement. We knew from the moment we met them at a wedding show over a year ago that they were for us. Their energy is unparalleled, and their professionalism and willingness to get the shot makes us SO excited for our wedding this August. Stephen drove 2.5 hours to Put-in-Bay for our windy October engagement shoot. He rode a VERY rocky ferry boat, spent all day with us exploring the island, and got completely soaked with us to get the most incredible shot. Style & Story are 100% worth the investment and so much more. Stephen has already given us engagement photos and memories that fill our home and photo albums. We cannot wait for our wedding day with him and know those photos will be just as amazing.

One of the BEST decisions of our wedding!

Where do I start? Stephen and Morgan were absolutely phenomenal on our wedding day! It started from the moment I emailed them until the final photo was taken! Stephen’s kindness and sincere interest in not only our event, but our story truly brings home how much this company loves what they do! Stephen was responsive and has a great sense of humor! On the day of, him and his assistant Morgan were an absolute pleasure to work with! I don’t love having my photo taken and neither does my husband, but they made us feel comfortable and we had so much fun! We loved working with them so much!

The best decision that we made for our wedding, was booking Style & Story Creative. Ever since I saw their pictures, I knew they were going to be perfect. We really enjoyed working with Ben and honestly, he has a passion and was born to be a photographer. I loved how he always was on top of things(literally, to get some of the best shots ever, he stood on a bunch of stuff!) and he just always stayed real to who he was and what he was about. I loved that he was able to relate to my husband and I's taste and our style. One of the most important thing about my wedding that I knew would mean a great deal to me, were my wedding pictures, and Ben went above and beyond and delivered the best pictures I've ever seen. I cried for both my engagement and wedding pictures, and it takes a lot for me to cry over pictures! Thank you SO MUCH Ben!! I couldn't have asked for anything better!! You truly brought my childhood dream to life and I appreciate everything you did!

Absolutely amazing and incredible! Ben and his team are a dream to work with. They make you feel like the most important two people in the world -- the exact way you want to feel on your wedding day. Their professionalism and talent radiates through their photography, and we receive so many compliments all the time from how wonderful and beautiful our pictures were. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer, and would recommend them over and over for people who are looking for gorgeous photos that capture the love of your wedding day!

Ben was amazing! Of all the things that went wrong on our wedding day, Ben was the only reliable and truly professional we had working with us on our day. He did all the thinking for me and he worked his butt off to get us great shots. We are so thrilled we had him capture our wedding day. What a genuinely nice and kind person too. The experience from the beginning was above and beyond. Worth every penny and even more!

Wow! Just wow! Photography was one of the most important elements for us since it was documenting our wedding day. We worked with Ben and Lace and they were phenomenal! Not only do they make you feel completely comfortable while they are taking the pictures, but they are able to capture multiple breathtaking shots. When we reviewed our photos with them, there were very few that we did not like. We were impressed with what they were able to capture throughout the day. After seeing the pictures it was like we relived the day all over again. Their skill is unmatched and were a pleasure to work with. When looking for the right photographers I highly encourage you to check them out for your big day. You won't be disappointed!

I attended Ben & Lacey's wedding that was photographed by Ben from Style & Story Creative. I was blown away by Ben and how he interacted with everyone and really took the time to get the shots he needed! I would definitely recommend this team to friends and family!

As best man (and father of the groom), I spent much of the day with Ben and those who were helping him. I was absolutely floored by his energy level, enthusiasm, attitude and pride in his craft. He was polite but directive in just the right way...and displayed a great sense of humor when the inevitable small complications occurred. The resulting photos were great...I would highly recommend Style & Story Creative to anyone in need of event photography.

I was at my friends wedding Sept 13 and noticed how wonderful the photographers were. They were from Style & Story Creative. They never got in our way, but they were able to get some great photographs. I noticed that they were all over the floor during the reception taking some amazing photos. I would love to have them for my wedding one day!

As a photographer myself, I was worried about who was going to photograph my wedding! When we hired Style & Story Creative my mind was put at ease. Ben made our wedding day completely incredible. I never had to worry about him getting certain shot because I knew he had things covered! Our photos turned out incredible and I will never regret hiring them to photograph our wedding!

Planning a wedding is stressful. Working with Style and Story was not! I was recently a bridesmaid in Brooke and Michael Spafford's wedding. Through out the entire day, they were professional and elegant. Wedding photographers can at times be either in the way, or pushy and rude. Ben and Lacy were perfect. They were available when they needed to be, but did not try to "run the show". The pictures of the wedding turned out beautiful. I wish I could go back and use them for my wedding.

I can not say enough positive things about Style and Story Creative. From meeting Ben as a bridal party member to my own engagement session and my own wedding I have been constantly impressed with his artistry and dedication to his work. Stunning photos. And everyone I worked with did an excellent job listening to what I wanted from the experience. I also want to mention Ben's patience with adding my dog in the mix and help keeping the mood up beat with the bridal party during a chilly photo shoot. Words can not express how pleased I am with my entire experience. Worth every single penny!!

I am a friend of Steve Nord and Sarah Merhaut and was at their wedding last year. It was a great wedding and Ben and Les did a great job. They were very engaged and were two of the most fun photographers that I've seen. They captured every part of the wedding and I know Steve and Sarah were very greatful.

As the father of the bride, I have to tell anyone considering Style & Story to capture your special moment - don't consider any other vendor. They captured every nuance of our daughter and son-in-law's wedding day in a way that can only be considered artwork and cinematic genius. Their team of photographers and videographers were with us the entire day and managed to capture every glance, word, laugh and tear in a way that can't be described as anything but magic. Highly recommend them to a rating beyond what the star rating allows.

Style and Story did both the photography and videography for our daughter and now son-in-law's wedding on 7/14/14 and there aren't enough words to say what fabulous work they do. From the initial video interview through the very last minute of the wedding day, they were professional, fun to work with, and really captured the story of Jillian and Andrew's journey in such a unique and intimate way. Unbelievable, creative as can be, unobtrusive yet captured every moment. The photographs are gorgeous, stunning, inventive beyond belief. The wedding video isn't a video - it's a cinematic masterpiece that brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. There aren't enough stars in this rating scheme to tell anyone how much we recommend Style and Story - they are simply fabulous!

The daughter of a dear friend was married this past May, and Style & Story Creative were hired to document this wonderful occasion. On the morning of the wedding day, I arrived early (9 a.m.) as an extra set of hands for the mother of the bride. I was not alone in my early arrival...Ben and Les, along with their wonderful troop, were there as well beginning a FULL day of documenting the event. As I was assisting with the set up for the wedding, Style & Story were meticulously taping and photographing every detail of the preparation...and I do mean every detail! I would not know the extent of their vision until after the proofs and video were complete. Never have I seen a photo package like this, total perfection!

From the minute we met them, they were both so personable and enjoyable to be around. They made the whole day such a blast! I really enjoyed having them to be there a part of the wedding and that we were able to get some amazing pictures out of it.

Style and Story Creative photographed my niece's (Brooke Spafford) wedding on June 21, 2014 and I cannot even begin to express how amazing and breathtaking the photos and videos are. Ben and Lacey have an artistic touch that you cannot find anywhere else! They captured all of the special moments of that day in a way that only Style and Story Creative could do. I was a bridesmaid in Kelly and Blake Kishler's wedding. I've been in other weddings but Style and Story were the most fun photographers I've ever encountered. We took photos for hours but the time flew by because new and creative poses and locations were always being introduced. The photos turned out amazing, too, and are perfect to remember such a special day.

Ben Hartley and the rest of the Style & Story Creative team did an absolutely amazing job with my husband Blake's and my wedding photos! From the very first meeting with Ben and Les, we knew we had made the right choice for them to capture our engagement pictures and wedding day. We felt completely at ease working with them during the engagement shoot, and were even more excited for the wedding day when we got those photos back. During our wedding day, Ben went above and beyond to capture all the important memories and moments of our special day, including some that we missed witnessing ourselves. I was so impressed by Ben & Lace at my cousin's wedding. They went above and beyond my expectations of a photographer. They were able to capture every detail of the day perfectly, and added a special creative touch to the photography, making the pictures special and different from your typical wedding photos. The entire crew was professional and helpful. As a member of the bridal party, I was worried about becoming quickly tired of taking pictures, but Ben & Lace were able to keep them fun. Both the pictures and the video turned out better than I could have even imagined possible!

Style story creative will blow you away with just a few clicks through their gallery, but to actually experience their talent as a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding was incredible! Ben is amazing he mad Jamie feel like she was the only bride he has ever shot, and that she was looking her ultimate best that day. They are funny and so great to work with! They take whatever measure they have to to get that perfect shot! It was so energizing and enjoyable to be a part of the process, and to see the results made it even better. I also got married the week after with a different photographer, and I will always regret that. I've already told my sister she will have to use style story creative on her big day in the future!

We had a great experience with Ben & Led at Sarah and Steve's wedding! I was a bridesmaid and the photographers were so much fun and caring! It was an extremely cold day and they let us wait in our warm cars until the last possible moment to stay warm. Not to mention that they are so talented we only needed to take a few pics because a knew they would be fantastic!

As I watched my daughter get married on September 13, 2014 I was overcome with many emotions. I especially could not believe that my little girl was so grown up and now she was getting married. As Father of the Bride I also watched in awe as her photographer, Ben Hartley and staff from Style and Story Creative, moved about shooting photos of Kelly, her husband, the bridal party and family and friends. Ben was wonderful the day of my son's wedding in September. I particularly noticed how calm and personable he was while being very busy. He seemed ready and "up" for their special day, which was exceedingly long with virtually no break. Between the wedding and the reception, pictures were taken for three hours, including many in a park setting. His positive demeanor and stamina were amazing. My son and his wife really enjoyed the photography aspect of the day, and the quality of the photos is exceptional. They really liked working with Ben and Les on their engagement photos also.

Ben and Lace of Style and Story Creative shot our wedding in November last year. They were great to work with through the whole process. I got married in November of 2014 and I can't express how amazing our experience was with Style & Story Creative as our wedding photographers. I attended my niece's (Abby Dandurand-Fink) wedding back in November. It was such an amazing day. It was wonderful to see Abby and Josh so happy! I was so excited to see the pictures from their special day. Style & Story Creative couldn't have done a more amazing job capturing the emotion, joy, and fun from their most special day. The pictures were incredible!!! From start to finish...the pic's from Abby getting ready, the ceremony, and the reception pictures preserved the day beyond expectations. In fact, as I looked at all the pictures it took be back to November 1, 2014 and I was so happy to re-love that day...AMAZING!!! They took pictures that looked like they came out of top Hollywood magazines. One of my favorites of the two of them was one titled, "Genuine Joy", and it shows exactly that, Abby and Josh embracing and you can see the genuine joy between them. Engagement pics: Ben and Les shot these. Their willingness and creativity comes out throughout the whole session. It flows so easily and they make what can be a somewhat awkward situation fun! And they did an amazing job with our pup. He was only 6-months old at the time, but they were great working with him. The day ended with a perfect lakefront sunset with some of the most epic shots I've every seen. Really fun.

Wedding pics: Ben 2.0 and Lace shot our wedding! Again, you can tell why Ben and Les trust them with their brand. They are amazing and very professional. One thing we loved was at times, Lace was able to get unbelievable side/candid shots while Ben worked to get the "standard shots". So even while Ben was occupied making sure that every family shot was taken, or the head-on shots were taken, Lace was able to get completely different perspectives with all kinds of different lighting, etc. Very cool!

Wedding videography: So worth it! First, it's amazing to have everyone on the same page, so that the photographers and videographers are working together. It makes the day so much less stressful. Second, their work product is INSANE. They were a lot of fun and willing to work with all of our crazy requests.

Overall, we had the chance to work with the whole team. You really can't go wrong. It's not by accident that they do not have a rating below 5 star.

I got the privilege to experience Ben and Les Photography when I was a bridesmaid in James and Jessie Sherman’s wedding. Their wedding was beyond beautiful. Ben and Les made sure to capture every little detail of the wedding. The thing I really enjoyed about getting our pictures taken for the wedding was the fact that they made it fun. I was in a wedding a year before where it is all traditional, slow pace, and forced smiles. A wedding day should be fun and full of excitement. I truly believe that Ben and Les added to James and Jessie’s big day. Not only did they capture every detail of the night and make it fun in the process but they were also willing to stay to the very end of the night when Jessie, the bride, and all her bridesmaids jumped into the pool. That is something I will never forget and now we have an amazing photo to go along with the memory. I am so impressed with their work I have even recommended a few of my friends to Ben and Les Photography.

Every photo I see of Style & Story Creative is completely amazing. We got nothing less when Ben and Les photographed my best friends wedding. Every pictures flowed together to perfectly. Ben and Les photographed my sister's wedding on Oct. 19th. They were so much fun and we had an amazing time with them. My sister's wedding photos are absolutely breathtaking. They are all magazine worthy!! I will be using Ben and Les when I get married! I highly recommend Ben and Les.

Ben and Les and crew performed their service with amazing professionalism. The photos they shot were creative and artistic. Even with these beautiful shots being taken, I never saw them in the way of the wedding or guests.

Ben and Les did my sister and brother in law's wedding! They were amazing and the pictures turned out better than expected! The part I like the best about them is that during the ceremony you never knew that the photographers were there. I have been to weddings where you feel as if the photographers were part of the wedding party but with Ben and Les, I did not feel that way at all. I am so glad my sister and brother in law found such wonderful and friendly photographer! Thank you for capturing the beauty of their day!

Ben & Les did an amazing job of capturing the love and happiness at the wedding of my two best friends. The memories that they captured are a wonderful reminder of the happiness that was felt by everyone in attendance at their wedding and also the fun that we had that entire day! Ben & Les did an amazing job at my best friend's wedding! I was a bridesmaid and so I was able to experience their work up close & personal. They got great shots before, during, & after the wedding-making sure they didn't miss any important parts of the day, but yet did not seem intrusive at all. You can tell when interacting with them that they truly love what they do, really care about the bride and groom, and love being a part of the couple's special day! They are incredibly professional and were also willing to stay late just to get one of the coolest shots of the day.....the bride & her bridesmaids jumping into the swimming pool in the dark after the reception was over!! I would recommend them to anyone who wants to have great photos from a great couple. Thanks Ben & Les!
