Joanna provided hair for me, my mum, my mother-in-law-to-be, my 3 bridesmaids, and our flower girl, and every single one of us was floored by her skills as a stylist. She was extremely efficient and accommodating and was able to create styles for each of my 6 attendants that suited both their personalities and preferences. Joanna, you are truly gifted! My wedding was July 16th. I really got lucky by finding Joanna especially since I didn't book her until the week of my wedding!! And on top of me booking late, I was undecided on if I had wanted an updo or my hair down. She was extremely patient and kind and she helped my decide which hairstyle would go best with my dress. (I went with an updo) I'm african american and had extensions sewn in, for my wedding. My hair looked more beautiful than I could have ever imagined!! She is perfect in everyway. This is your go to girl..and I would recommend her to any bride who wants to look and feel flawless on their big day. I could not wait to share our review with every single gal looking for the perfect touch to her beauty team. Joanna was on board the whole journey. Patient with this nervous MOB through two hair trials and countless emails just to confirm. She arrived early with her calming smile and her AMAZING talents. She not only made us look stunning but our hair stayed perfect THE WHOLE DAY! Through humidity, sunshine and LOTS of dancing. She was not only to replicate a picture given to her but also offer suggestions and create beauty beyond expectations. She even created an adorable braid style for our flower girl. A true gem!

Joanna is such a pleasant person! When we chatted about my event, she was so easygoing and personable, and it made me feel so at ease about my big day. It was like talking to an old friend! She was even willing to work within my budget. I would recommend her to any bride-to-be!

Joanna was a great addition to our "operation wedding" team! She was so laid back and personable the day of the wedding and that was so appreciated! I had a few people who were apprehensive about getting their hair done, but after they saw Joanna work on a few other girls they were sold! She really takes her time and listens to what you want and does exactly that. My hair looked great all night at my wedding and it was all Joanna! I would recommend Joanna in a heartbeat!

I was so lucky to have Joanna do my hair the day of my wedding. She came to my parent’s house and styled my hair, my six bridesmaids and mom’s hair. We all had pictures that we showed Joanna and she was able to create the style we wanted with her own little spin. Joanna is very sweet and went above and beyond to make sure my hair was perfect and wouldn’t move.

Joanna was lovely to work with! She single-handledly did my hair for my wedding along with my seven bridesmaids and mother. Every looked great and my photos are turning out awesome. She was able to handle all hair without assistance the morning of the wedding.

Style and Sass Hair by Joanna did my hair as well as my mother's and sister's hair for my July 11th wedding. Prior to my wedding date, Joanna and I arranged a time for me to do a trial. There we got to dry my desired wedding updo/style and get to know each other. Joanna is not only talented with hair, but also very kind and easy to talk to. I knew she was a perfect fit for our hair on the big day.

On my wedding day, Joanna arrived :30 minutes early to set and up and was ready to go! My mother, sister, and I looked stunning! All of our hair stayed set throughout the event despite the hot July day.

Fast forward to today, and I am still using some tricks Joanna did on my wedding day to successful style my hair day-to-day!

I highly recommend Style and Sass Hair by Joanna for your upcoming wedding or special occasion!

Joanna was absolutely amazing! After having a trial done for my hair at a different place, I was not very excited about my hair for my wedding. I was given Joanna's name by a friend. When I called to see if she was available, Joanna made every effort to find time on our event day for my mom, my sister and myself. She also squeezed in a trial run. Moments into my trial, I was completely at ease and knew my hair would be wonderful. She listened to what I wanted, what I liked and what I did not like. Joanna made the necessary changes, while providing her expertise. She was absolutely fantastic. The day of the event, Joanna showed up with all of the proper supplies and did all three of our hair. She made each of us look beautiful in our own unique way. I have passed her information on to many of my friends that are getting married and I hope that they will use her.

Joanna was wonderful all the way through the planning process. I had a trial with her a couple months before my wedding date and instantly made a connection with her - she is just so friendly and understanding. Day-of, she completed all 10 women with ease. My bridesmaids are picky when it comes to their hair and by one glance and a photo, Joanna created the exact hair style that each of them wanted.

I rarely wear my hair up so on my wedding day I wanted to look like myself, just glammed up. I was originally skeptical to have a half up/half down do as I was told the curls will fall and will be a mess by the end of the night. However, this was not the case. Joanna created loose curls that lasted all night long. I can never seem to do this myself, but I have Joanna to thank - thank you Joanna! I am happy to recommend Joanna to any bride/bridal party in the future.

Joanna did a fantastic job on my wedding day. She was prompt, professional and had such a calm, relaxed demeanor (which is much needed on such a hectic day.) She did 8 ladies in less than 5 hours! All of their hair styles looked beautiful and held up the entire night. She even did hair styling for people that were last minute wanting theirs done. I totally recommend her! Thank you Joanna!

Joanna was such a pleasure to work with. She did my hair, my bridesmaids' hair, and my mother's hair for my wedding. We were all so pleased with her work. Joanna really listens to what each individual wants. She works with you to find the perfect look for you. None of us wanted to look too "done up," and Joanna totally got that. She is very flexible as well. My sister, mom, and I all did a trial with her, which was great. Joanna was with me most of my wedding day, and she was so much fun to have around. I think it's important to feel comfortable at ease with the people who are with you on your wedding day. Joanna has a great personality. She is easy going, funny, and able to get along with everyone. And as I said, her work is amazing. Our hair looked good the entire day and into the late night. You can tell she knows what she's doing and enjoys doing it. I would highly recommend Joanna.

Joanna was fantastic to work with and is very good at what she does. She was very easy to work with and was willing to be flexible to our needs. She met us in our hotel suite and did everyone in the wedding parties hair (5). She was very easy going and helped keep everyone relaxed and calm all while sticking to the necessary schedule in order to be finished in time. I would highly recommend her to anyone in need of this type of service.

Joanna has been cutting my hair for a few years so I didn't hesitate when I asked her to do my updo for my wedding. Timing was great and I kept on track for the entire day. She did a great job and I received several compliments on my hair all day.

I would recommend Joanna to EVERYONE! She honestly made my wedding day a dream come true! My hair was better than I ever could have imagined, she went above and beyond & I was so fortunate to have her from beginning, touch up for pictures after mass, restyle for multiple Chicago locations and reception. She was extremely professional, very flexible and accommodating & was even able to track down wireless curling iron to do on-go touch up (although the curls stayed all day & night so it was more precautionary). Wish I could attach a picture - one that my husband and I will treasure forever - thank you Joanna!!!

I first did a trial with Joanna after my makeup trial; she came recommended through my makeup artist. The trial went very well, and she was able to capture the look I was going for (updo with orchid) in the first try. On the wedding day, she did my hair and various members in my bridal party, including my mom, mother in law, grandma in law and aunt (she traveled to my hotel room where we all were so that made things very easy). We all LOVED our hair, and my style stayed put all day long (like, 10am-12am) through our photos, the ceremony, dinner, dancing, etc. I would definitely recommend Joanna (and I have!) to brides-to-be.

Joanna did a great job! She single-handedly took care of hair for me, my five bridesmaids, and my mom. Joanna is the best! She did my hair for both my rehearsal dinner (Which I was running extremely late for before I got in her chair!) and my wedding! She is extremely professional and very calm, cool & collected! I went through multiple trials with other stylists prior to Joanna and decided to go with her after having paid a 50% deposit for another stylist team, that is how great she is! She keeps everyone calm and is really fast! She did my updo for my rehearsal dinner (Wash,dry, curl & updo) in under 30 minutes~ I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who needs a great stylist~!

Joanna did an Amazing job on my hair for my wedding! I've gotten my hair done on numerous occasions by a variety of stylists but Joanna's results were by far the best. I had a curled, half-up style with head band. It was a very windy day so I was concerned about it holding, however, I had nothing to worry about! After a long church ceremony, two hours of pictures outside in the wind, and a 5 hour reception full of dancing, my hair remained perfectly in tact. I would recommend Joanna to anyone who wants to look and feel beautiful on their big day!

Joanna was amazing. I think what I liked best was her confidence she portrayed to me. She never once second guessed herself. She saw my vision and made my hair perfect for the most important day of my life. It was exactly what I wanted. I simply can not thank her enough!!

Joanna was absolutely fabulous to work with for my December 17th Wedding, everything from the pre-wedding trial run, to the cut/color before the wedding, to the wedding day hair for my bridemaids and I.
Joanna has excellent style and was able to give each bridemaid a different look, that worked with their hair/personality, everyone looked absolutely STUNNING!!! All the girls hair including mine looked just as good by the end of the evening as it did in the morning!!!
I have very fine, thin hair--- Joanna recommended using extensions which I was kinda of leary on to begin with, but with her years of experience in hair, I had no doubts she would make me look the best I could be on my wedding day... I got the long, clip in hair extensions from Sally Beauty Supply, Joanna was able to clip them in, cut, and style as though it was my own hair... No one could tell I had extensions!!!
Thank you Joanna for making me and my entire bridal party look amaizing on my BIG DAY, you hit it out of the park!!! I can't thank you enough for your talent, hard work, and professionalism for my wedding day!!!
I will forever recommend you to any friend/family member looking for a great hair stylist in the Chicago area.

I had a difficult time finding a good hairstylist for my wedding. After going through two trials with two different people, I thought that I would never find someone who understood what I was looking for - and then I met Joanna! She is extremely talented, professional, genuine, and a pleasure to work with. Joanna took the time to listen to what I wanted and would not rest until we perfected my look. My first trial with Joanna took longer than we both anticipated, and she insisted that I come back again so we had my look perfected before my wedding day.

Joanna takes pride in her work, and you can tell with working with her that her utmost concern is that her bride is 100% happy. She is such a pleasure to work with and puts everyone at ease. I highly recommend Joanna for any hairstyle needs!

Joanna came highly recommended by other make up artists and photographers in the field. She was wonderfully flexible, patient, listened to my feedback and was flexible around my changing day-of schedule. My hair stayed in place all night, despite the heat, humidity and dancing. While her prices were on the higher end of hair stylists I interviewed and she charged a travel fee to work on site where we were getting ready (where others did not), her prices were not unreasonable and well worth it, since I looked and felt my best on such a special day. I also got a cut and color with her before my wedding and both were great! The color worked well with the camera and made my dark hair more defined in pictures.

Joanna did a great job doing my hair and 4 bridesmaids for my wedding. Everyone's hair turned out great and lasted all night (even through wind and rain). The cost was a little more than salons in my area, but it was worth it to have her come over to the house so we didn't need to drive any where.

Joanna is very professional, creative and does amazing work. She did a trial for me 6 months before my wedding, took photos of my hair, and was able to create exactly what I wanted again on the day-of. Obviously the more ladies you have standing up in your wedding, the longer she will need to we did need to start very early. The up-do also started to fall out a bit into the evening but, that's probably due to the dancing! Otherwise, all good things. I would definitely recommend Joanna for any event and would use her again myself.
