There are your average wedding planners and then there is Studio DBI — the full-service, wedding ORCHESTRATORS that does nothing less than make your dream wedding come true. We cannot say enough amazing things about Liza and her team.

Liza came into our lives at the perfect time. We were barely into the planning when we spoke to her on the phone about our Tuscan-style wedding, and everything just clicked. She even surprised us with a home olive tree when we first met at our home — and at that point, we knew she was going to be the perfect person to plan and execute our vision.

My partner and I have type-A personalities who have bouts trying to relinquish control to each other, so it was refreshing to hand the reins over to someone who earned our trust immediately. When you meet Liza, the first thing you think of is “wow, this lady got style!” We quickly learned that not only did she has a great sense of style, but she was polished, organized, creative, and didn’t skip a beat on anything — we are not over-exaggerating about that at all. She literally had everything covered.

Fast forward to the wedding. The day was action packed and at times stressful, but every time we saw Liza, we felt better. What really impressed us that day was how calm and collected she was, and that feeling transcended to us and the rest of the wedding party. She made sure we had time to pull away from the wedding, take a step back, and enjoy the moment. Looking back at that exact point in time still makes us emotional. We looked at every single detail — from the florals, to the stationary, to the tables and chairs, to the food, and the overall vibe — and it was all Liza and her team who made it happen.

Abosutley, positively, the best vendor I have ever worked with. For all you brides out there, I cannot recommend anyone better than Liza. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful Liza was during the entire planning and execution of the floral design for our wedding. I was impressed by Liza from our first conversation over the phone. She was wonderful and warm, great listener and knew exactly what I was envisioning. I would mention my cholor scheme and some of my ideas, and she knew what I meant. She did not try to take over my ideas, she enhanced them. Following our conversation, she emailed me the proposal with the pictures of what she envisioned given my guidance, and she was spot on. Liza knows design and knows flowers. If you are looking for that bridal magazine look, she will deliver. If you are looking for that urban, outside of the box thinking, she will deliver. No matter your style, she knows exactly how to execute that design. Liza will also work well with your budget and will help maximize your vision while sticking to your budget. I loved working with Liza not only on the professional level, but on a personal one. She is a lovely, kind, classy, stylish, hip and extremely intellegen woman. She has accomplished so much at such an incredible young age, she is truly an inspiration.

I cannot say enough about Liza and Studio DBI. Seriously - she is the BEST. I have never met a more calm, collected, and detail oriented planner in my life. She had everything organized down to the smallest detail, without ever breaking a sweat. Any time I had a question or concern, Liza had already had it solved, taken care of, with a solution better than I could've ever figured out on my own.

She's also one of the kindest people. And it doesn't stop with Wedding Planning. Her floral talents are to DIE for. Our mantle floral arrangements still have people talking! She not only made my vision come to life -- she made it like a true dream - above and beyond anything I could've imagined.

I will absolutely, hands down, 100% recommend Liza and Studio DBI to any and everyone -- her professionalism, her grace in even challenging situations, and her genius and creativity made our wedding day absolutely perfect.

I don't have enough good things to say about Liza and Studio DBI. From our first meeting to talk vision to the end of our wedding night, Liza went above and beyond to make our wedding feel seamless. Despite only hiring her as a 'month of planner', Liza was so incredibly helpful recommending vendors that saved us a ton of money. I was always so impressed by her quick responses to the dozens of emails I sent, generally within hours. On day of, I literally didn't have to worry about a thing and didn't know if anything 'wrong' happened. The flowers were even better than I would've imagined. At the end of the night, everything was stored neatly in our hotel room. Can't recommend Studio DBI enough.

Liza at Studio DBI was an absolute dream to work with. We hit it off right away and she always listened carefully to what I was looking for, my likes and dislikes, preferences, etc. She was so easy to accommodate meeting times and locations. Her kind nature and attention to detail were the perfect balance and mix of what I was looking for. I truly considered her a friend by the end of it all. The flowers she provided were exactly to what I wanted, her services with planning and coordinating were unmatched, and her support and enthusiasm the day of added that special touch. I absolutely loved working with Liza! She was amazing -- always available to talk through the details and make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. She is a very talented florist and decorated. I even had a room change last minute and asked her to create this beautiful alter scene very last minute and she made it happen. I can't rave enough about the work she did! She also made sure to incorporate small decor items I had wanted. Again, very easy to work with and so nice/professional. If you want great, beautiful decor and flowers, be sure to hire her. I promise it is worth it.

We used Liza's floral and wedding coordinating services for our recent wedding and I have to say that I was thrilled with both. The flowers at our ceremony and reception looked beautiful and Liza even threw in little touches like flowers in the bathrooms that were not included in our contract but which I really appreciated. In picking out the floral design Liza's approach was very practical- she was prepared for our first meeting with a slew of photos on her ipad for us to review which made it really easy to hone in on what I liked and didn't like. Other florists asked us to describe "our vision" for the event which as someone who did not really have one I found difficult. Liza was a really good listener and she was able to quickly interpret from my vague description exactly the look we were going for and executed it just as we discussed without a lot of further back and forth after our first meeting. She also was able to deliver a beautiful, simple and modern Chuppah which went perfectly with the look of the wedding. As far as wedding coordinating services Liza was very organized, responsive, and accessible. On the wedding day itself everything was executed exactly how we had discussed and I saw her working feverishly throughout but she never once approached me with any issues other than gently making suggestions about moving on to the next stage of the timeline so I didn't have to worry about a thing all night. At the end of the night all of our stuff was packed up and delivered back to our hotel room before we even got there and thoughtfully my bouquet and leftover cake were stored in the hotel refrigerator. I felt as if every detail had been thought through and that Liza really went the extra mile to make sure that everything went off without a hitch.

There is only one word we could say to describe Liza Boukard's design skills for our Summer 2014 wedding....and that word would be "AWESOME." As someone who does NOT understand everything that goes into the floral and overall design aspects of a wedding...I can honestly say that Liza took the time to take in my wife and my inputs and incorporate them into a product that AMAZED our wedding guests! Honestly, when you are planning a wedding, its so hard to see the forest among the trees, so it really comes down to TRUST. Trust that the professional you are working with understands your desires and truly incorporates them into the overall final product. Liza did with flair and we can say that our guests were amazed and still brag about our wedding 6 months later. Hire her and know with CONFIDENCE that you are in very good hands!

Hiring Studio DBI for month-of coordination was one the best decisions we made in planning our wedding. We called Liza three months out, somewhat stressed about lack of space in the restaurant where we were having both the ceremony and reception. We had interviewed other coordinators who were skeptical that we would be able to do what we wanted to do there. Not Liza--she was excited about everything we described and immediately got to work coordinating with the restaurant. Within days she had developed a floor plan and a schedule that put our minds completely at ease. Here’s everything else Liza and team did to make our wedding extra-special: Confirmed all vendors--if there were any issues, we never heard of them; provided a structure for a ceremony backdrop after our failed DIY attempt; directed a rehearsal at our apartment on the night of Liza’s own anniversary; prepared a bridal bouquet that perfectly reflected the bride’s style and the feel of the wedding; made sure we paid all vendors and recommended tip amounts; oversaw all set-up and takedown at the restaurant; returned all personal equipment and decorations to our apartment and even walked our dog so we could stay out later. We are so grateful to Liza and team!

They were professional and fabulous from our first meeting to the last minute of the wedding and were worth every penny and then some. Liza Bourkard is a gem! She worked with me in the month prior to my daughter's October 19, 2014 wedding. She was energetic and organized in tying up loose ends. She attended a pre-wedding meeting at the venue, worked up timelines and lists, and provided the florals and tape top designs for us. It was at the wedding, however, that she really shone! She and her assistant were on site early and worked throughout the day and evening to smoothly handle the "run of show" as well as the emergencies that arose (an extensive pipe/drape installation that collapsed because it was not properly weighted by the rental company; as well as appalling dinner service by the caterer). After the event, Liza followed up with the providers whose performance caused us issue, wrote emails to back up our complaints; and ensured that our satisfaction with our event was at the forefront of her efforts. She is truly a gifted professional.

I loved working with Liza and her team! They provided the flowers for my wedding and they turned out so beautiful! They were extremely responsive, friendly and reliable. Liza and the rest of the Studio DBI team provided exceptional service for our wedding on Oct. 4! We used her for month-of services, which was the best decision we made for our DC wedding of about 200 people (mostly out of towners).

For any brides who feel that they don't want a wedding planner the whole engagement (for budgetary reasons or because you want to plan it yourself and think it's fun -- I was both), I cannot recommend Liza enough for month-of planning. The month-of is when all the fun starts and you want to be able to sit back, relax and enjoy all of your hard work while she handles all the details, which she did. When you are that close to the wedding, you want to be able to spend time with your family, friends and fiance; you DO NOT want to be on the phone to a million vendors, sending out timelines, going over logistics and worrying about details -- trust me. I did not have to speak to a single vendor to confirm anything or figure out timing or details. She put together a DETAILED and well-thought out timeline and was able to execute a flawless weekend for us. Logistics and the nitty-gritty details were NOT my strong suit, and she took care of it all perfectly.

Finally, Liza and her assistants are all so laid back and enjoyable to be around. She never inserted her opinion without me asking, but when I did ask her advice on something, she had such good ideas that we never would have thought of ourselves. You can tell she is able to adapt to any and every style of wedding and be fully on board with it without any judgement or unwarranted opinions. We really appreciated that about her.

All in all, Liza and the Studio DBI team made for a fun, relaxing and PERFECTLY executed wedding weekend for us that was flawless from start to finish. My family, husband and I could not recommend her highly enough!

Liza and the team at DBI were awesome! She came up with really creative suggestions to fit what we wanted -- which was challenging because we had no color, no theme and just a couple of wildly varying pinterest pictures to go by! I LOVED the bouquets, the boutineers, the garland for the ceremony and all the different table arrangements. We had the ceremony and the reception in the same space, and the flowers really helped transform so it felt totally different. She had really good suggestions for varying the arrangements by tables to keep the tables uncluttered and save us a little money. Liza also gave us great advice on linens and lighting to help really make the room. Highly recommend!

Liza is the best! She was able to make my daughter's citrus wedding concept so perfect. The luscious citrus garlands strung across the backs of the chairs and railing behind the bridal party at the Newseum looked fabulous. Then they were re-purposed at the reception, hugging the sweetheart table, lining the wedding cake table, providing a backdrop to the wedding guest book puzzle table, and elsewhere. They completed the look of the gorgeous and varied floral and fruit arrangements on the tables. The guests even enjoyed the sweet clementines scattered on each table. My daughter's vision became Liza's vision. It was a pleasure working this Liza over this past year and I highly recommend Liza and StudioDBI to anyone.

We used DBI for our recent wedding and were very pleased with the results! Like a previous reviewer, I didn't have a real vision for my flowers other than color and a couple of flowers I liked. Liza did an amazing job putting together a proposal for me that was within my budget and incorporated the flowers I knew I wanted. It was simple yet elegant and exactly what we wanted.

I had different ceremony and reception sites, and this was no problem for DBI. They showed up on time to both sites, and were incredibly professional. They truly went above and beyond when one of the centerpieces got jostled by another vendor, and came back to our reception venue to fix it! They were also incredibly flexible, and let us keep the glassware and flowers an extra day to use at brunch.

Their work is beautiful and I'd recommend them to anyone!

Liza did an amazing job with the flowers for my wedding! I was looking for simple bouquets and a few center pieces for my wedding in Old Town. Unlike many brides, I didn't have an exact vision for my flowers other than "blue and green." What Liza designed was simple amazing - perfect green and blue bouquets for my bridesmaids, a stunning ivory bouquet for me (complete with sparkles!) and some beautiful centerpieces. I could not have been happier with the product.

In addition, Liza was incredibly responsive and flexible. She sent great summaries of the flowers she recommended and followed up about a month before the wedding to make sure that everything was on track. She was perfectly on time on our wedding day and totally wowed us.

I had wanted to keep the flowers at my wedding to a minimum, but have the ceremony space which was indoors be filled with trees. Not only was Lisa on board with using a small amount of flowers to make a statement she bent over backwards helping us plan how to create the look we envisioned.
The flowers arrived on time and were exactly what we talked about.

I am so thrilled that I got to work with Liza and will sing her praises over and over to anyone in search of an extremely talented event designer. Liza is not just your average florist. She looks at your event as a whole and is excellent at understanding your vision. However, beyond my own vision, what impressed me the most about Liza from the start, was that she was able to enhance my vision and suggest small ways to make ideas pop. I decided to work with Liza for the simple reason that I immediately trusted her to come up with unique, but stunning solutions when faced with a challenge, rather than look to me for direction. She just made things easy and I instantly trusted her judgment.

Not to mention, Liza's flowers were simply incredible. She 110% nailed the look I was going for and I continue to receive so many compliments as guests reflect on the event. There isn't a single thing I would have changed.

I also hired Liza for overall event design and I was thrilled with how effortlessly she made all the pieces come together -- paper products, linens, chair rentals, draping, etc. all came through her and she helped streamline the process and eliminate the number of vendors that I had to manage. She even went so far as to set-up a final walk-through meeting with our team at the hotel in the weeks leading up to the wedding so that I felt comfortable with all the moving pieces.

Finally, Liza provides excellent value for her services. Her flower prices were extremely reasonable as compared to her peers and she offered excellent transparency in terms of the costs of all the services she outsourced. Liza truly seems equipped to be able to make a major impact to your event no matter your budget.

My husband and I planned our wedding in about 2.5 months. When my mother-in-law identified locally-owned, small business Studio DBI and owner Liza Bourkard as the best florist for our DC-area wedding, we didn't hesitate to move forward -- and we were so happy we did. As an individual, Liza is awesome -- she is the consummate professional (creative, organized, responsive, timely) and really nice. She gave us excellent suggestions for our chuppah, bouquet and center pieces and upon request linked us to our deejay, DJ Mark Maskell (www.djmaskell.com), who proved amazing as well from serving as our Master of Ceremonies to going above and beyond throughout our wedding. We can't say enough good things about Liza and Studio DBI, and Mark! Because they are both such engaging personalities, they will certainly add to the warmth of your event. Independently they are both phenomenal at what they do and together they pack a one-two punch (we later learned Mark's wife is a wedding planner so I'm convinced there is no challenge to large for this dynamic duo!) We got married this past September and I must say that the highlight of the experience was working with Liza and her team. I first met with her regarding our floral design but after one meeting I knew there was no one else I could trust the details to but her. I am not well versed in flowers but my fiance and I had a very specific vision that we could not quite put into words. Liza took my "muddy" description and turned it into a crystal clear picture.
We also opted to use DBI for our planning and I must say, were it not for her attention to detail and comforting words during my "bridezilla" moments, I don't know if we would have had such a magical wedding. The day of went completely smooth and we were able to kick back and enjoy because we were so confident in the DBI team. I will definitly be going to them for all other big celebrations to come!

My husband and I highly recommend Studio DBI for wedding flowers, design, and coordination. Thanks to Liza, we had a beautiful, flawless, October wedding at Decatur House in Washington, DC. Over the months that we worked with Liza, we were always impressed with her patience. Liza listened to us and had a genuine interest in learning what we had in mind for our wedding. Thanks to the coordination by Studio DBI, we enjoyed our wedding day without stress. Finally, the flowers were exquisite. I LOVE Studio DBI. Liza could not be easier to work with. I had a very specific concept of what I wanted for our wedding flowers in terms of "feel" and style but no idea as to specific flowers. Liza was absolutely spot on with her interpretation of our vision- the flowers were simply lovely and perfect. Translating subjective verbs and emotions related to flowers is not easily done and Liza excels at her job. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and spot-on with my vision. She even made several last minute adjustments and additions the week of the wedding without comment or complaint- she just made everything work. It was obvious that she truly cared about the job and went above and beyond to make everything perfect.

I found DBI online after comparing several other florists I found online and a florist my family has used in the past. I feel lucky to have found Liza and she is now our go-to florist. If I hadn't already booked a day-of coordinator I have no doubt Liza would excel at event planning as well. She is the type of vendor you want, easy to work with, great communicator, affordable, friendly and calm. And her talent with floral arrangement is impeccable.

Studio DBI were professional and creative, always amazing to work with! We loved their flower arrangements, and couldn't have imagined a more easily flowing and relaxed wedding day, as they provided day-of planning services. Liza and her team met with us within a month of our wedding and constructed a detailed wedding day schedule, I did not spend one second of my wedding day worrying about the timing of events! In addition, Liza went above and beyond to make our wedding day special- including a late night delivery of our wedding cake to our nearby hotel suite, since we weren't able to enjoy it during the reception! Liza , aka DBI events, helped to make my wedding all I wanted it to be. Liza knows how to "run with the punches". While I don't recommend making changes at the last minute. I DO recommend Liza. She was adaptable and make the revisions I requested. I respected her as the gifted designer that she is. And this talent enabled her to bring the verbal rambling of this bride into a room filled with color, warmth, beauty, and simplistic elegance.

From the simplistic, elegant and clean floral table displays to exceeding my expectations with the bouquets I was pleased.( could you tell). The popcorn table was great and your ability to work within my budget was even better.

I would only recommend DBI for events that you want people to rave about, be impressed by, or stand in amazement and awe. And only then.

Liza and her team where so amazing. Throughout the planning process Liza was super responsive and accommodating. She even answered the phone off hours when I was in the store with some random thought I wanted to share! I was so shocked that she was willing to have the conversation. During the site visit, she had so many wonderful ideas while staying within our budget. We had already received the quote and proposed flowers, but being on the site it was like her creativity was sparked. By making the slight adjustments based on the actual location, I really believe our wedding was more beautiful then we could have imagined.

On the day of the wedding, her team arrived on time and quickly proceeded to set-up the event. They were quiet and respectful and worked well with the catering company. Had they not come in to give us our bouquets, I would have never know they were there! I loved working with Studio DBI and would do it again tomorrow without a second thought!!!

When I first contacted Studio DBI to discuss my wedding bouquet, the wedding was about four months away. In my initial conversation with Liza, I was immediately impressed by her professionalism, how well she listened, and with her creative suggestions. Over the course of the next four months, Liza was always quick to respond to my (many, many, many) emails and phone calls, and was always pleasant, caring, calm, and helpful. Not only was I impressed by Liza's exceptional customer service, but I was blown away by her creative abilities.

Liza crafted (what I will always consider to be) the GREATEST WEDDING BOUQUET IN HISTORY for me. Liza listened to my unusual requests to include deer antlers, cotton, and wheat in my wedding bouquet, and she really understood my obsession with the color yellow. She stayed true to my vision and produced a bouquet that far exceeded my expectations.

Since the bride's bouquet is probably the second wedding detail that gets noticed (only after the wedding dress), I was thrilled that my bouquet was absolutely stunning. I was so enamored with my bouquet that I opted to dry it after the wedding. My Liza-crafted wedding bouquet dried beautifully. I proudly displayed it near the front of our apartment and am reminded of the greatest day of my life every time I walk through the front door.

I cannot thank Studio DBI enough for their beautiful flowers they did for my wedding! They were picture perfect. Life has been hectic and challenging so it made planning a wedding not as a priority. I had done some research through wedding wire for florists and came across Studio DBI. Immediately after sending a request, I received an email from Liza about setting up some time to talk about what I was looking for and more so get to know me. We quickly connected and was happy that we hit it off. Within our initial phone conversation, Liza knew exactly the style of my wedding and what I was looking for. I sent her some pictures of flowers I liked and had in mind. She quickly put together a proposal and photos of various flowers that she had picked in keeping with what we discussed and what I had sent over. Liza and I kept in touch throughout the planning which was great. A week before my wedding she had emailed me to let me know that peonies may not be available as the weather has pushed back the time when they are supposed to bloom. She had suggested another type of flower which would give a similar look - I trusted her and knew that no matter what with or without peonies they would still be a beautiful arrangement.

On the day of my wedding I had the flowers arrive to the hotel where I was getting ready, Liza had arrived with her colleague to my suite to drop them off. I could not believe how gorgeous the flowers were. She surprised me with being able to get the peonies! I loved them so much! They were everything I was looking for. I would recommend Studio DBI to anyone.

Liza was so sweet and easy to work with, I was happy to have her and her team be part of my big day.

I do not think words can express how awesome our wedding flowers from DBI events were. From our very first meeting with Liza, she had so many great ideas. Since our wedding was in November, I wanted to use fall colors but wasn't really excited about red, yellow and orange. Liza suggested deep purple, red and blue as an alternative, which was a great combination. The flowers used in my bouquet were so unique, as opposed to traditional wedding flowers. Also, we were married in a building that use to be a library, so I really wanted to play up the library theme. Liza suggested she create "book trees." Basically she used pages from books as leaves to create tall centerpieces. The book trees also had garlands of flowers throughout. They were such a conversation piece and really tied the whole library theme into the reception. The service provide by DBI events is above and beyond that of a florist and the prices are comparable.

We can't even begin to put into words how amazing Liza is as a decorator and a coordinator. She was simply the best decision we could have ever made for our wedding.

Her taste is unbelievable. After just a few conversations, she was able to propose decor options quickly that were right along the lines of what we wanted. We had a lot of opinions of what we were looking for, and each time she would respond right away and give us more options, on the phone and in person. She knows the area very well and works with so many vendors that it was magnificent. The wedding ceremony and reception turned out beautiful, and she was able to do so many things with a tight budget. It looked so elegant.

She was even more impressive as a coordinator. There was not a single thing she was not on top of during our wedding and well in advance. We hired her as our day-of coordinator, but she was talking to vendors and coordinating months in advance. She always gave it 110%, having phone calls and e-mails with us whenever we needed to talk about something, talking to our vendors multiple times so that everything was perfect, and having a minute by minute schedule that was executed flawlessly. Even when little things came up during the wedding, she handled them with such grace that we never knew many of the things that happened. She was s huge part of why our wedding was a blast and could not have been the same without her.

If you have the chance to work with Liza, definitely do not pass it up. She's simply amazing.

I didn't really think I had a vision of what I wanted my wedding to look like. I met with Liza and let her know what I had planned so far and some general ideas of what I wanted. I didn't think it was helpful at the time, but she must have massaged enough information out of me because not only did she come up with a beautiful designs, they complemented my wedding seamlessly. When choosing vendors for my wedding, one piece of advice I received was to meet with at least three companies before making a decision. When it came time to choose a florist, I actually met with four potential vendors and spoke on the phone with countless others before luckily finding DBI. When I first spoke with Liza over the phone, we talked for almost an hour about the breakdown of my floral needs; after our conversation, I sent her various images of centerpieces and bouquets that I liked. Soon after, when we met to discuss everything in more detail, it was obvious to me that Liza and DBI were the perfect choice for my wedding.

Liza wanted to know all the details—what my husband and I wanted the “feel” of our wedding to be, the design my wedding dress, etc.— and she really cared about having a cohesive theme for all my wedding flowers, manifesting what I truly wanted, and staying within my budget. After our meeting, she promptly responded to all my emails and phone calls with follow up questions or tweaks that came to mind—and was happy to incorporate any updates. For example, I was choosing between a white orchid centerpiece and a more colorful mix of hydrangeas and roses. When we left the meeting, I had decided on the white orchids. Later, after deliberating with my sister and sister-in-law, we felt like the more colorful flower mix would better in my venue. Liza had absolutely no problems with changing course—it was clear that she was there to bring my vision to life. Every time I spoke or emailed with her, I felt like I was speaking with my sister since I felt so comfortable and at ease, and at the same time, she was so professional, remembering every last detail without any hesitation (everything from ribbon color choices and ceremony as well as reception flower choices).

A note on the budget: I remember sharing the image of the white orchid centerpiece that I originally wanted with another florist in Georgetown and she laughed at me when I told her what my budget was (and later accidently sent me an email again making fun of me!). On the other hand, from the very beginning, Liza assured me that what I wanted was compatible with my budget and we tailored everything to ensure that I stayed within what I had in mind to spend.

On the day of my wedding, during the cocktail hour, the wedding coordinator took my husband and I aside and asked us if we would like to take a peek at the ballroom (this was just minutes before the guests were to be seated for dinner). The flowers in the room just took our breath away—it was exactly what I wanted: the tall centerpieces were grand, sitting in very dramatic vases with submerged orchids, the flowers sitting on top were a beautiful, full mixture of hydrangeas and roses and the low centerpieces served as an elegant counterbalance. I remember my sister had a chance to see the room before everyone else and she too remarked: “This is exactly what you wanted!!!!”

I can’t say enough amazing things about Liza and her staff. They are professional, prompt, flexible, budget-friendly, and most importantly work wonders with flowers and treated me like I was their only client. Going forward, I will be using DBI for any and all upcoming celebrations and events and will recommend them to all my friends and family.

Liza was a joy to work with and was a sea of calm amidst much wedding chaos planning. Not only was she completely patient with a perfectionist bride, but she did an excellent job of taking the ideas and bringing them to life. DBI is expensive, but they have everything you could possibly need - from the candy bar supplies, to a wealth of vases, gorgeous fabrics, flower chandeliers, access to stunning flowers and more. Liza was fantastic. She found creative ways to make my vision work within my budget. She was incredibly flexible in terms of redesigning arrangements, changing ideas, squeezing in calls between my work meetings, etc. The flowers themselves were stunning. I got so many compliments on the bridal party's bouquets and the table arrangements. She worked with my caterer and wedding planner to design the wedding cake and provide the flowers. She even surprised us with a stunningly gorgeous arrangement for the bride and groom dining chairs. Our theme was modern-rustic, and we had an outdoor wedding. She created lush, soft, flowing bouquets and arrangements. Even though it was 97 degrees the day of our wedding, everything held up beautifully. The pictures of those flowers - even at the end of the night are still just so beautiful! Liza came prepared to keep the flowers chilled in the heat. Super thoughtful and detail oriented. We contracted with Liza Bourkard at StudioDBI to act as the coordinator for my daughter’s wedding based upon a couple of phone calls and my daughter’s meeting with her more than a year ago. Liza’s role was to begin 6 weeks from the event and the goal was to turn over the management of the vendors and the day of timeline to Lisa. What she did over the year, with just a few suggestions and phone calls:
• Suggested a much better location for the event than the one we were considering
• Identified a wonderful photographer when we were having a great deal of difficulty securing one we liked
• Pointing us to a DJ who was as perfect as one could have been
• Helping us find a last minute videographer who handled himself with great care and kindness
The key, however, were the actions of Liza and her assistant Stephanie near and on the day of the event. They developed a carefully crafted timeline with everything timed and practiced. The rehearsal dinner really included a rehearsal of the ceremony. We ran it through enough to work through the kinks and the awkwardness, changing an order here and a word there. The actual ceremony would follow with ease and comfort.
Everything was planned in advanced, the timeline well established and the hotel all set. Nonetheless, things happen. The key is that, at all time, even when I was aware of what was happening (and to be honest, I usually found out after things were fixed), I was always greeted with “we’ve already taken care of it” or “we’ll take care of it”. Most importantly, everything really was taken care of.
Whether it was the bridesmaid being stuck in the elevator, or the Chuppah not fitting into the room or my daughter needing to eat something right after the ceremony (she’d not eaten all day and was starving!), Liza or Stephanie just took care of things. There are undoubtedly other things that went sideways that I’ll never even knew because they were just handled. Thank you Liza and Stephanie.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Liza Bourkard and Studio DBI for my wedding. When I first met with Liza, I had a vague idea of the overall look that I was trying to create for my wedding, but was at a loss as to how to execute it. Liza walked me through a series of images, which allowed me to develop a specific look for my wedding. I met with two other vendors after meeting with Liza and found myself comparing them to the way she approached her floral design. I ultimately hired Liza and Studio DBI to do the flowers for my wedding and I was thrilled with the results. Liza is extremely responsive and professional, and I highly recommend Liza and Studio DBI.

Liza was pretty great! She took the crazy images in our heads and was able to put it together into a workable vision. She is calm, professional and dependable. We had a teeny budget, and she went out of her way to make everything work for us.

Liza at Studio DBI went above and beyond to make our wedding not only beautiful but run smoothly. The flowers were amazing, Liza and her assistant were on top of every detail that we requested and Liza's husband even got called in to bring a steamer from 20 minutes away when we realized we needed one.

Very highly recommend!

DBI Events took our vision and made it a reality beyond our wildest dreams. They transformed our space for our wedding. Their attention to detail was thoroughly appreciated. The flowers were great, from what I saw. I rarely notice flowers at an event, but I did at our wedding. My boutonniere fell off before the ceremony, but that's probably because I was giving too many hugs. Other than that it was fantastic.
