I said yes to the dress at Strut Bridal and I’m so glad I did!! I’ve been dreaming of this day forever! I grew up watching “Say Yes To The Dress”, so I was envisioning my perfect dress since I was young! I am a plus size girlie, so shopping tends to be difficult. I either shop online, having to make returns time after time because nothing fits properly or I shop in person but have to pay an arm and a leg for the cute stylish outfits. So I figured wedding dress shopping was going to be even harder to find the perfect one. I mentally prepared myself to have limited options in dress styles and also expected to spend a lot on the dress. Oh, was I so wrong once I got to Strut Bridal! There were so many options in plus sizes! My mother, future mother-in-law, and I were physically able to look at the dresses on the hangers and pull what we thought looked nice, as well as the stylist pulled some choices she thought would fit nice! I was able to try on like 8 dresses! Which I’ve been to other stores where we weren’t allowed to pull any dresses and I only got to try on 3-4 options within the appointment time. At other stores, I would have to use my imagination to envision the proper sized gown on me. Here at Strut Bridal they actually had sizes that fit me and I could see the physical dress on me without having to use my imagination. The other big positive of Strut Bridal is they are affordable!! Like I said before, being plus size I assumed from the get go I was going to pay more, but at Strut Bridal they have dresses that range in price starting from $699 even if they are plus sized! So, if you are a plus size girlie and are stressing about wedding dress shopping head to Strut Bridal and you’ll have the opportunity to see and feel what wedding dresses look like on yourself because they offer so many sizes at a reasonable price!! I can’t wait to wear the dress on my wedding day! Until then I’ll just keep looking at my pictures of the beautiful dress I picked! -

Arianna was a breath of fresh air!
I love this place. I got my dress there today! Arianna helped me so much and I will forever be greatful. She chose a dress for me that made me literally cry. I didn't think that a-ha moment about a dress would come for me, but it did, at strut, with the help of Arianna!! -

Where do I start? When I had my first appointment at Strut the stylist was amazing, asking me questions getting to know me first. I was allowed to look through the dresses and they have a wide variety of dresses and sizes. The price range was pretty decent as well. When I had a lot of questions other employees would help out as well. The staff were energetic, friendly & helpful. My second appointment was awesome as well. The stylist again got to know me first then we walked through the dresses. She listened to my concerns, wants and needs. -

We love an inclusive bridal shop!
On Saturday November 9th, I brought my loved ones with me in hopes of finding my wedding dress. We made an appointment online a few weeks before, we opted for the one where we got champagne, snacks, and a senior bridal stylist. The store called a few days before the appointment to get some additional information and we were all set. When we arrived, we were welcomed by Tamiko, my bridal stylist. She brought us over to the area that we were going to be using, and while she set up the snacks, my maid of honor and I perused the racks and racks of dresses. Once everything and everyone was settled, Tamiko asked some questions about the engagement, the wedding, and of course the dress. We immediately jumped into it, we grabbed a few dresses just to figure out what cut and fabric I liked, and I’m glad we did because I didn’t really know. The whole time we were trying on dresses, Tamiko was with me and she was amazing - she really listened to me, encouraged me, and knew how to zip and clip those dresses! Hahaha. We pulled a few more dresses and little did I know, my dress was in that selection - actually, my top 3 were in that selection! When I tried on “the” dress, I reallyyyy liked it, I just wasn’t ready to use the “love” word yet and get ahead of myself. I tried on the last dress but instantly knew that I wanted to go back to the other dress and try it on with a veil and accessories. The veil was the push that I needed, that was my dress, I could imagine myself walking down the aisle and partying at my reception. Tamiko pulled the most perfect veil and headband to go with my dress, and as soon as I walked out to show everyone, that was confirmation. Strut Bridal was my one and only stop in my wedding dress shopping, it’s a beautiful shop, and the plus size dresses are what initially attracted me to this shop but they now have straight sizes too, so it’s truly size inclusive. I 100% recommend Strut to any future bride, and I 100% recommend Tamiko as a stylist if you’re able to get her! Thank you Strut! -

FAB-U-LOUS.
I booked this appointment having already had my mind set on a dress from David's Bridal. And trust me when I say, "don't put a deposit on a dress if you still have other appointment."
My appointment was with Nick and he was absolutely amazing. He started by offering us drinks and snacks and made us feel Uber special. He picked out 4-5 dresses for me to try on based on the limited information I provided and he nailed it on the first try. I tried on all the dresses he brought but I was already in love with the first one. The dress was a real pain too considering all the buttons but he was patient and so kind throughout the entire appointment. I wanted to wear the dress again at the very end and he buttoned it all up for me again without hesitation.
If I could give him 5 stars on his own, this would be a 10 star review. I'll update this review after my wedding to include a photo of the dress. In the meantime, here’s the backside! -

I had the pleasure of working with Tamiko for my very first dress shopping. I went with the package for up to 5 people to come with me, which included mimosas or champagne and macarons which were delicious!
I didn't think I'd say yes to the dress on my first go. With the help of Tamiko, she got me out of my comfort zone, and helped my voice out my honest opinions to help me say yes to the dress.
I wouldn't have been able to do this without Tamiko's help! -

His energy, positivity, and hype was everything I needed to find my dress. I also loved how he made sure to stay within my budget while finding my DREAM dress. He UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT and brought my vision to life! -

Unbelievable!
Strut created a core memory for everyone in my bridal group, and they STILL tear up talking about how special it was. I booked a private appointment to bring more loved ones and enjoy a little charcuterie! Omg, it was so much more than that. Nick and Tamiko went out of their way to make the entire experience unforgettable and to ensure I felt special. They coordinated with my loved ones, set up an amazing spread of snacks and displays, and implemented some personal touches that I am still so moved by.
They were so warm, affirming, and thoughtful. I have always been terrified of the dressing room, but Tamiko made me feel so comfortable. She and Nick are brilliant and honestly knew what would fit me better than I did. They brought in dresses that I would have never thought I'd look good in, and I quickly saw myself in a different light. This sounds so cheesy, but it was literally a healing experience for me and my body image. It allowed me to love my body and, quite possibly, see myself the way my fiancé sees me.
I knew I was going to find my dress because I had so much trust in Tamiko and Nick. Near the end, I tried on a dress and fell in love with it, but I decided to try on the last two just for fun. The moment I put on the next dress, I felt overwhelmed because I did not think I could EVER pull it off. I asked Tamiko what she thought because I just didn't trust what I was seeing, and she gave me her honest opinion that she liked this one more. When I stepped out, my family and friends loved it, but Nick's comment really stuck with me. He said, "Now, this is the dress that gives you that Jessica Rabbit shape!" The entire day I kept saying I wished I looked like Jessica Rabbit, so Nick's statement confirmed it was my dress because I actually agreed with him!
Also, can we just talk about how affordable the dresses are?? I could not believe the price tag. My dress cost less than half of what I was quoted at another store for a dress that didn't fit me and didn't even make me feel good! Absolute madness.
This is a long-winded way of saying that I cannot recommend Strut enough. I drove from San Diego to Long Beach because of the amazing reviews from my friends who also traveled to Strut for their wedding dresses, and it was absolutely worth the trip. I also highly recommend a private appointment if you'd like to bring more people or if you feel like you'd enjoy that type of experience! I loved being able to bring all those that I wanted there, and they even offered a tripod to Facetime those who couldn't be there. I wasn't planning on having a bridal shower, and now I definitely don't need it because the entire appointment felt like one. Thank you, Tamiko, Nick, and Strut! I can't wait to go there again for my Bridesmaids dresses! -

Highly recommend Strut Bridal in Long Beah for your wedding dress! All the girls there are amazing! Ariana helped me during my dress appointment. She’s very engaged and a great listener. Kellee and Becca were wonderful in giving their honest input when I was looking for accessories. I used their tailor, Maria, as well and she was wonderful and had my dress ready very quickly! -

Being a plus size bride I was so nervous to go shopping for a dress! Then we got to Strut and it was the most amazing experience ever! Ariana was so wonderful to work with and after seeing inspiration pictures and talking with me she knew exactly what I was looking for. Within about an hour and a half I said yes to the most amazing, fairy tail dream dress EVER. If you are looking for great quality dresses and a good shopping experience this is the place to go! -

So let me start off by saying I already had a dress that I hated. I had two previous bridal experiences and they were horrible one being at David's bridal in Long Beach. Ri or Ree (sorry I don't know how to spell her name) was my consultant and I am so thankful for her. I knew I wanted a new dress I just wanted to be sure it was the one. So what I loved about this shop is I could try one an endless amount of dresses and they fit! Ri totally understood my fear of making another purchase of a dress I would end up hating after. So she took her time with me brought me tons of styles and could totally envision my style and vibe! I couldn't be more thankful for someone so patient! She helped me get in my top 2 about 3 times just so I was sure about this big decision. Thanks again Ri! Your did an amazing job of helping me pick the one! I can't wait to share my wedding photos with you! -

During all of the craziness of Covid, Astrid made dress shopping so memorable and fun! I got to work with Tamiko and she was so amazing. I told her my ideas and she brought dress after dress that left my guests and I in awe. Being a big girl I had always dreaded the day I would go look for a wedding dress, but at Strut I was able to try on dresses that were too big for me and dresses that I fit perfectly in. When I got to say Yes to My Dress it was a perfect moment where I felt lime a little girl playing dress up again. I love this store and am recommending it to all of my friends! -

Strut Bridal and everyone who works there is fantastic! They worked with my budget, helped me to decide on a style and look I loved (I didn't make this part easy, either!), and just made me feel relaxed and comfortable! I primarily worked with Yulina and Maritza, who were so much fun to be around and made me feel like a part of the family every time I was there! I would highly recommend them for any bride looking for an easy and fun experience, all while finding her perfect gown! -

I was all excited and invited my aunts from both sides of my families, my mother, my twin sister and one of my bridesmaids to come along with me. After trying on dress after dress and nothing really fit I became discouraged. I eventually just settled on a dress at David's Bridal. However, I did not make the purchase or a payment at the time. I was so tired of hearing "Once it comes in your size its going to look amazing on you." I pretty much just gave up. Another young lady from my church was married last year and recommended Strut's bridal to me. I didn't really want to go because I was tired of being disappointed and I liked my dress even though I didn't love it. But after talking to my mom and sister I decided to go and give it a try. Why not? It can't hurt I didn't pay for the other dress so I called and made an appointment and the rest is history. Once I arrived Tamiko was so nice and helpful. She took my information and then after I finished my paper work she set me up with my stylist Maritza. Maritza was awesome!!! She came along asked me questions and really tried to get a feel of who I was and what style I was looking for before she started pulling dresses. Once she pulled the dresses she took me in the dressing room. My mom and auntie were waiting patiently in the dressing room with me and Maritza came in and put them out and told them to have a sit and relax. Maritza keep communicating with me, making me laugh and helping me put on my dress which I definitely did not get at the other bridal salon's I visited. When I found my dress she knew it and so did I. My aunt even cried. I put down my payment that day. They have remained in contact with me keeping me update on the status of everything. I was so impressed that I cancel my appointment with David's bridal for my bridesmaids and made an appointment with them. My bridesmaids felt the same way. I -

My review is so long overdue because I purchased my dress in 2019 but covid delayed my wedding until 2022. I tried to avoid needing to go to a bridal shop for a really long time for two main reasons: I’m a plus-size person (usually a women’s size 18 in dresses) and I’m not a feminine person (since buying my dress, I’ve realized I’m nonbinary). I didn’t feel excited about dress shopping, actively tried to avoid it, and went mostly because it made my Mom happy.
Enter Maritza. She is an exceptional listener and really validated my feelings about not wanting the “princess treatment.” She picked all the dresses for me, which was an enormous relief since the idea of browsing the dresses myself was overwhelming to me.
She really hit the right balance of letting my Mom, MoH, and me express our opinions while offering input in just the right doses. After our appointment, we went to another plus-size bridal shop appointment, and it was such a different experience. We called Strut from the car to order the dress we liked best! We were also referred to an absolutely stellar tailor, Lara of Folklore Dress Studio, and she was just as lovely to work with as we made alterations that fit me for the wedding 3 years later! -

Since the restrictions have lifted, I was finally able to get an apt for my wedding dress for my Feb '21 wedding date. Strut got me in as soon as possible. I was helped by Tamiko and another very nice assistant (sorry I forgot her name). They brought out so many lovely dresses. They have a wide variety for curvy girls. They had veils, belts, and hair accessories all in house. They were very helpful and I ended up finding my wedding dress there and it was such a WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! Thank you so much. -

I booked this appointment last minute because I had come from a bridal dress shop earlier that day that did not carry my size. Feeling down on myself, I found Strut nearby and asked if they could squeeze me in so I could possibly find SOMETHING and not waste my whole day. They were super cool about letting me in thirty minutes from when I called--so soon that I had to really book it to the shop to make it on time!
When I entered the shop it was decorated neatly but appeared busy and "lived in" in a cozy way and smelled like fresh coffee, since they offered free coffee and water as refreshments near the front of the shop. I had to wait for a while, but this is only because my stylist Tamiko had had an appointment ahead of me and I'd barely squeezed in last moment with no prior warning. My future mother-in-law and I waited patiently, but the owner of the shop and Tamiko assured us several times that they were aware of us and trying their best to get to us, which I appreciated.
I was shown to the back fitting area for me as one of the last appointments of the day and Tamiko took in my preferred style and size and any concerns I had about my wedding dress. I asked for very little glitter and beading, A-line shape, and a sweetheart neckline that I could customize with sleeves later.
She brought me dresses in my price range and in my style somewhat--dress one was meh but not far off from what I was asking for, the second one was fabulous and nearly what I wanted, and the third one was The Dress.
A snag in the moment came in the form of my mom's criticism on Facetime but Tamiko did her best to smooth the moment over and make me feel like I was making my own decision to take the dress home.
Tamiko and another co-worker stayed after hours without rushing me or making me feel guilty for being past hours despite my protests that we hurry so they could go home. The visit ended with a very positive note and big hugs to the stylists there who connected with me on a personal level and made me feel beautiful and welcomed.
I loved the service, personalization, grace, and expertise from my stylist, Tamiko. The prices were pretty standard but didn't feel unfair. The selection for plus sizes was enormous and ranged all the way up to size 38. If you are plus-sized, this shop is the shop I would recommend for your wedding day. -

Finding the One
I arrived on time and my advisor was running behind. But I tell you when she started working with me she ask questions to get to know me and then she began to help me find different styles of dresses that I may like. The first one I tried on I fell in love with. I tried on the second and I felt like a princess. My advisor was so helpful. I recommend Strut Bridal. -

This place is not a good business. They charged my card never ordered the address refused to refund me and have not ordered anything for me. I’m fighting to get my money back from them and they have become unresponsive. I changed my mind on coming to the shop because of the customer service I received made me skeptical to move forward with them. I’m now stuck in there, one-sided contract with no dress and no refund and no response from the owner or the manager of the store. They take zero accountability and our thieves. Save yourself the time, energy and headache and shop somewhere else -

BUYER BEWARE - I've filed a complaint with the BBB
I have submitted a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). My complaint and response received from owner of Strut Bridal is on par with the complaint submitted to the BBB on 11/21/22 and several 1 star reviews submitted on Google and Yelp. I cannot give this business even 1 star in good conscience. I wish I would have reviewed the BBB website for complaints, and read all 1 star reviews instead of only trusting the overall rating before entering this business - lesson learned! On 2/13/23 I ordered a mother of the bride dress from Strut Bridal Salon. The Strut employee took my measurements at the store and supposedly ordered accordingly. On 4/14/23 I returned to Strut Bridal Salon for my fitting and alterations appointment only to find that the dress was at least 4 sizes too large. After visiting 3 separate seamstresses that the Strut Bridal employee directed me to, all agreed that the dress was too large and would require a full recut/remake for it to fit as intended. All 3 seamstresses, including the seamstress at Strut were unable to do this due to the level of recutting required. After the Strut employee informed the owner of the situation, the owner offered no assistance whatsoever and indicated that Strut had fulfilled the terms of their contract.
BUYER BEWARE - Strut's contract indicates they will have no accountability for the recommended size provided by their own Strut stylist. Additionally, they will not be accountable for the sizing provided by the manufacturer. I believe that Strut's contract implies that once the dress is ordered and paid for, they have no obligation to ensure that the dress is wearable, and that their hands are washed clean of any further assistance should the dress not be wearable. I believe that Strut Bridal does not conduct business in good faith and does not deal honestly with their customers. A dress should not require a full remake to be wearable. In my case, this dress required a full recut/remake, not just simple alternations, which costed me nearly the amount I paid for the dress and caused me severe stress finding a master seamstress on my own capable of remaking the dress. I believe my request for half of the cost of the remake ($150) was more than reasonable. I paid over $500 for the dress and the remake was $329 - over half of the cost of the dress itself. Attached are photos of email correspondence between me and the owner of Strut Bridal. -
