    Beyond Wonderful

    We were beyond pleased with Straton Hall Catering. We booked the beautiful venue, Cedar Lodge on Honey Creek. Several days later the Venue Director, Tiffany notified me that she was able to book Straton Hall Catering for our daughter’s wedding. Honestly, we did not know anything about Straton Hall except Tiffany was very pleased that she was able to book them. We met Jay at our tasting and that’s when we understood Tiffany’s excitement. Jay made the entire experience fun. He was always upbeat and made all of us feel special. Our wonderful Wedding Planner, Anna of Swanson Signature Events, scheduled the tasting and gave Jay a list of the appetizers and entrees that we were interested in. We went to his restaurant in Brunswick. He had a beautiful private room upstairs and we tasted all of the wonderful food. Jay described everything as we ate and explained how it would be displayed. He made recommendations along the way as we discussed everything. We selected Fruit, Mushroom Brochette, Crab Cakes, Shrimp and Oysters as our appetizers. The Shrimp and Oysters were displayed beautifully and were prepared to perfection. Jay’s staff walked around serving the other appetizers while pictures were taking place. We are very picky about how our seafood is cooked and many times it is over cooked. Not with Straton Hall. We had a dear friend who always cooks seafood well. He made a special point to tell us Jay knew what he was doing. The seafood was great. As entrees we selected Shrimp and Grits and Maple, Pecan crusted Chicken. The chicken was great but his award winning Shrimp and Grits stole the show!! I have had so many people tell me how great all the food was and especially the Shrimp and Grits! Their next statement is always “Do you think Jay will share his recipe for Shrimp and Grits.” We also had his famous Macaroni and Cheese Station. A must have!! Everyone knows Jay by now. We have talked about him so much and everyone noticed how hard he was working during the wedding reception. Jay was very well staffed. He had lots of people with him working the reception. We consider Jay a special friend. Due to cancer my husband was unable to eat at the tasting and the night of the reception. Jay saved him a sample of all the food to freeze for later but my husband and I plan to go to Jay’s restaurant after he is well and order everything on our daughter’s menu. We are especially looking forward to seeing our friend Jay again. Clearly, I would recommend you book Straton Hall Catering. If they don’t have your date available, change your date.

    Beyond Words The Best

    Straton Hall made our daughters wedding a huge success! Jay was always just a phone call away. He was gracious, professional and easy to work with. As I worked with Jay over the many months before the wedding it's like he could read my mind, he was always one step ahead. Straton Hall has the friendliest and the hardest working staff. They even realized before anyone else that the bride and groom departed with no food and quickly made them to go boxes. They thought of everything! Thank you Straton Hall we couldn't have done it without you.

    Phenomenal.

    I really do not have enough words to thank Stacy, Jay, and the team at Straton Hall for making all of my dreams come true. From the first time we met at the loft to saying "goodbye" after our wedding, they truly felt like a family to us. Stacy took my vision and went beyond what I could have ever imagined- when I look at my pictures I truly cannot believe that was MY wedding. It was SO BEAUTFUL. All of our guests continue to tell us it was the most beautiful and wonderful wedding they have ever been to and I owe so much of that to Stacy. The food was phenomenal. The design, the rentals, the cake, and oh my LORD the flowers were unbelievable. The staff that day went above and beyond to take care of our guests, it was seamless in the middle of a thunderstorm and nobody would have known. I could go on and on about Straton Hall but all you need to know is if you are getting married in St. Simons or really anywhere- call Stacy Bass.

    WOW!!!!!!!!!

    WOW. It's hard to find words for how great Stacy and his team are. Usually, when someone wears a lot of hats, they do each task "okay". Somehow, Straton Hall runs venues, does florals, catering, and event planning, and does each with extreme excellence. We have done countless weddings with the Straton Hall team and they never lack in any area. Food is SPOT ON and creative (request the three types of mac n cheese), the set up is on time and organized, they are super responsive leading up to events, florals are impeccable, events are fun and unique. THEY DO IT ALL!!!

    Unforgettable Wedding Weekend

    There is nothing bad I can say about Stacy and the Straton Hall team! :) They are AWESOME! The first time I met Stacy, I knew I was going to LOVE working with him! He made wedding planning stress free and enjoyable. Every time we met with them, he made me feel at ease and helped in the decision making process (which I tend to struggle with).
    We used Straton Hall for the rehearsal dinner, flowers, catering for the wedding, venue/wedding decor, and the bride's cake. I gave him very basic descriptions on how I wanted my flowers to look and they turned out amazing. The colors were beautiful together and everyone keeps talking about them! The food was great for both the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. The appetizers during cocktail hour were a huge hit! Our destination wedding was a huge success and a party we will never forget! You can't go wrong choosing Straton Hall Events!

    Dream Wedding on Jekyll Island

    Once we met with Stacy and his incredible staff, we knew right away that they understood our vision and were excited to help take our ideas to the next level. Since this was a destination wedding for us, it was very important that our planning partners were experienced in the Golden Isles, and knew the ins and outs of event planning in the area. With over 20 years producing and coordinating countless stylish events, the choice to work with Stacy and Straton Hall was a no brainer. Stacy and his team are available at any moment to consult, advise, and collaborate to make sure every detail is perfect. From the unique and delicious food and beverage options, to the wide variety of floral and style accents available from Straton, they truly have the tools to bring your ideas to life! It was a delight working with Stacy. His calm and creative energy made planning a dream! He is beyond talented, and will truly wow you with his expertise and keen eye! Stacy and his team are incredible, passionate, and nothing less then fabulous! We are over the moon with how our wedding turned out! The day was everything thing we wanted, and more!     Outstanding event

    I contracted Straton Hall for my niece’s bridesmaids’ brunch. Stacy, Lulu and the rest of the Straton Hall team couldn’t have been better to deal with and the presentation of every element of the event was flawless! They handled everything to the last detail - all I had to do was show up!

    All I can say is Margo, Margo, Margo!!!! I had my reception with Straton Hall and it was absolutely beautiful!!!!! I was under the weather the week of my wedding and Margo handled everything. She reassured my family that we had nothing to worry about and she was right!! The decor was so intimate and beautiful just as we requested and she definitely exceeded our expectations. The venue had beautiful exposed brick with chic decor and was perfect for a small group. Not to mention, the food was amazing!!! I would recommend this venue but mostly importantly I want to thank Margo French for everything she did for me and my family. My wedding day was perfect!!!

    My Husband and I got married May 11th on Jekyll Island. Planning a destination wedding it is important to hire someone you can trust. Jay went above and beyond. He was a joy to work with, was always prompt to respond and we benefited from his local knowledge. He put us at ease, made my mom happy (which is hard to do) and created a beautiful memorable wedding. We will be forever grateful to him and his team! And the grits really are amazing.     Stacy and Margo were absolutely wonderful to work with!!! Their vast knowledge and experience in catering and flowers made our daughter's wedding beautiful! They just think of everything and know what will work the best. We were doing a destination wedding at St. Simon's Island, so we depended on them for every detail and they did not let us down!! We would highly recommend them to anyone who is planning an event!!!!

    What can I not say about working with Straton Hall, from the very first time I spoke with Jay on the phone I knew he was going to take care of me and give me the wedding I have always dreamed about. He was incredible to work with and made me feel confident and comfortable every step of the way! I live in Maryland so the entire thing was long distance, and I never even met Jay until about 3 months before our wedding when we went down there for our tasting. Over countless phone calls and emails he completely nailed my entire vision and pulled off an event I could never dream of. We could have never pulled of such an amazing event without him and team at Stratton Hall who even fulfilled my request for a blue velvet cake : ) I would hire their team a thousand times over and hope to see them again when we take trips down to Georgia. Do not hesitate in hiring them, they will make all your dreams come true!!

    Jay, Stacy and all of Straton Hall’s team were such a pleasure to work with. I planned my wedding from out of town and it was so nice to have Straton handle the event setup/planning/decor, catering, and florals. They do it all so beautifully!! They perfectly made what I imagined a beautiful reality - and truthfully even better than I had imagined. My wedding was at the lighthouse and everything looked and flowed seamlessly. They worked so well with all my vendors and with the event venue. I would absolutely recommend Straton Hall for any event or wedding! They made the planning process fun and I could totally relax knowing that the details were in their hands. The food, drinks and CAKE were unbelievable and my guests are still raving about how great everything was. Jay and Stacy thank you again for making my dreams come true and perfectly realizing my vision!!!!

    Jay and Stacy were wonderful! On the day of our wedding Jay was unbelievable! He kept me very clam during the storm that hit an hour before our ceremony outside. Him and his team worked fast to get everything dried off in time to have the most beautiful evening. Our band left due to the weather and he was instrumental finding a DJ for our special evening. They were fantastic! I suggest Village Creek Landing in a heartbeat. Straton Hall made our evening very memorable and helped with such ease!

    There is no one else to hire in the area! If you need catering...flowers...decoration...Straton Hall Events is THE BEST. The minute you meet Jay Anderson and Stacy Bass you will know you are in good hands! People cannot stop talking about how beautiful and fun our wedding was! And the CAKE...I have friends that literally want the it flown in from GA to NY because they can't stop thinking about how delicious it was!!!!!

    I was the Maid of Honor at a wedding Straton Hall did everything for- food, flowers, cake, the planning, everything. It was beautiful and there were no worries. I went to the planning meetings and Jay and Stacy made everything so easy from the very beginning. The bride and groom got to enjoy the evening with their family and friends. They used the same venue for the ceremony and seated reception. The room was totally transformed while we were downstairs for a 1/2 hour cocktail and appetizer time. It was almost magical! The flowers were even better than we had envisioned. And guests are STILL talking about how great the food was!

    FIVE STARS doesn't do Straton Hall Events justice! Our wedding day was happy and carefree, and everything I had ever dreamed. We chose them for our Golden Isles destination wedding! They exceeded our expectations from start to finish! Jay was my very first contact and he took any worries instantly away. His proactive nature, unparalleled attention to detail, genuine caring and FUN personality made the planning and coordinating actually enjoyable. We hired them for the design and rentals, FOOD, cake, FLOWERS... They took care of it all! Even though I emailed him numerous times with questions and changes, he promptly got back to me with suggestions and solid solutions. We wanted an elegant coastal evening and chose the gorgeous historic Old City Hall in downtown Brunswick for both the ceremony AND reception. I fell in love with all of the wood and marble, the romantic, vintage feel of the place. Worked with Jay and was very pleased with his flexibility and creativity with our menu. We had a Tasting that Jay made so fun, especially for my fiancé. The menu was fresh, in season and as local as possible. Sampling the cake choices, awesome! I talked with Stacy and Lulu about flowers and that I wanted mostly greenery, succulents, purple. And I wanted candles and that's exactly what we got, PLUS. There were CANDLES everywhere, along both sides of the aisle and at the front, even floating in big glass containers. And the FLOWERS! There were soft purple flowers, delicate blush ones, different shades of succulents, and these exquisite huge flowers I had never heard of from Africa called Wedding Proteas. Gorgeous! The ceremony was held upstairs. Short but SO sweet! Carla Pryor of St Simons Elopements was our officiant and she was awesome! Had obviously worked with the fellas from Straton before.     Jay Anderson and the Straton Hall Events staff made our dreams come true! They were flexible, professional, and truly listened to us! Jay was so easy to work with and made the wedding planning process stress free and fun! I truly felt like we were sitting down with a friend. We used them for catering, florals, venue/ceremony decor, and cake. Many of our guests commented on how great the food tasted, my beautiful bouquet, the creative reception décor, and the amazingly crafted groomes cake (the Ramblin' Wreck car for Georgia Tech)! We will recommend Straton Hall to all of our engaged friends!

    I can't say enough about how much Jay & Stacey (& their team!) exceeded our expectations on our big day. From the initial tasting & planning to the final on-site execution my guests & I couldn't stop talking about the menu, delicious food, warm & professional individual service from every single server & bartender, & beauty of the presentation. Best of all, they really strive to blend with what you're going for & add tons of thoughtful touches like having the bride & groom's plates ready to go before the guests, etc. Absolutely best value on the island, too! We were able to customize our menu based on our budget without compromising on quality. Lastly, as a nervous bride and former event planner myself, these guys had my back! I knew I could count on them every step of the way. I bounced off many questions as I planned and they had awesome advice. You can tell they've been pros for a while. I trusted them with so much & they never let me down. Super value & bang for your buck! Even clean up & packing up of left overs went seamlessly...that's impressive :)

    We worked with Straton Hall for our reception florals and catering and were happy beyond words at the end result! Jay and his team were great to work with totally brought our vision to life. Jay was a great partner and was respectful of our budget and vision while offering ideas on how to pull it all together. Having great food was a must for us, and we were beyond pleased. And the venue looked more beautiful than we could have imagined! I highly, highly recommend Straton Hall for catering and decor. 5 stars all around and well deserved!

    We used Straton Hall as our wedding florist and they did such an amazing job!! We worked with Stacy and he made picking out our wedding flowers and decorations so much fun and stress free! He was so easy to work with and was very responsive in communicating all of the details throughout the entire planning process. He completely understood my vision and our flowers were absolutely stunning! Straton Hall went above and beyond our expectations and I am so happy we chose them to be a part of our big day!

    I recently got married at the Crane Cottage in Jekyll Island Georgia. Being that I love to entertain and host large events and am some what of a DIY girl, flowers and decor were one of the most important parts of my day! I am from South Jersey so planning an out of town wedding when you are as hands on as I am definitely isn't an easy task! I was so happy when I found Stacy because he got my vision! I was coming to Georgia for one weekend before the wedding and needed to wrap up all the planning in that short amount of time, Stacy was very accommodating in meeting with me and I left that day feeling confident he would be able to create my vision! The day of the wedding I found that not only was he able to create it but he far surpassed it! My bouquet was like something out of a magazine, elegant over the top and exactly what I had explained to him! The staff was helpful and efficient and never did I see them not working their butts off! Everyone of my family/guests who came in contact with Stacy that day said he was kind and hard working! From decorating my cake to making center pieces from a fairytale Stacy did it all! Because I wanted to create every inch of my own day I even chose to provide my own linens, and out source for chairs dishes etc. I sent pictures of all of these items to Stacy for design advice, he had no obligation to help me with any of these little extras but of course being the sweet heart he is he did and offered me great advice! All in all his work is out of this world, he's happy and cheerful and makes the bride feel like her wedding is the most important job he's working on, and his eye for design is one that will leave you speechless! My guests said the wedding weekend was like a fairytale, and Stacy was a huge part in making this happen!

    Not only was Stacy such a blast to work with, he created our dream wedding! He completely understood my vision for my wedding and made it even better than I could have imagined. The glass bulbs with flowers hanging from the willow trees during our ceremony created such a serene setting. Our table settings looked right out of BHLDN weddings, very romantic and elegant! He was very patient with all of my emails and kept reassuring me throughout the wedding planning process.

    We were throwing surprise birthday two-night party for our mom. Stacy and Jay with Straton Hall were fantastic in helping us plan the menu. They were flexible in the minor changes we asked for and delivered the food on two separate occasions The food was hot and ready to be served. It also stayed that way a good hour after arriving. They were also sensitive to the fact that this was a surprise party so the first evening's timing was crucial. They showed up exactly on time and instructed us on any helpful serving tips. They were also the most responsive when I contacted a few caterers. Because of their attention to detail, professionalism and quality, I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing catering, event planning, etc., down in the Golden Isles area. Straton Hall, and Stacy and Jay in particular, were fantastic!

    Straton Hall Events was absolutely amazing for our wedding! We traveled to Jekyll Island from Stone Mountain and everything was beautiful!!!! Kim was great and very professional! She made sure that we knew who she was and what she and the staff would be doing for us for the evening!!!! I loved her willingness to help and make our reception special!!! Kim showed great leadership and handled us and our needs with care. Straton Hall Events has a winner on their team. The food was delicious and well prepared!!! I recommend Staron Hall Events to anyone who is having a wedding near Brunswick, GA.

    Stacy, Jay and the team are wonderful! Planning a destination wedding is hard, however Straton Hall made it very easy. They responded quickly to every email and answered all my questions. The tasting was outstanding. Stacy took the time to talk with the bride and groom so he could get a feel for what they wanted. Very professional but yet fun to work with. I highly recommend Straton Hall for your special day.

    When my daughter and I met with Stacy from Straton Hall Events in March 2014, we knew instantly that this would be the company that would help us plan an awesome wedding reception. We clicked with him immediately. He asked my daughter what their favorite foods were, favorite colors, etc. He asked me about our budget and then he put together a wonderful plan, including flowers for the wedding, the bride and groom's cakes, and the decorations and food for the reception. Since we live in Memphis, we put all of our trust in him to make Jenny's dream a reality. Everything was perfect! The food was not only delicious. but artistically displayed .The shrimp and grits were a hit. Beautiful flower arrangements adorned the tables, all in a white, green and gold combination. The star fish was the running theme of the wedding, and so starfish were beautifully incorporated into the floral arrangements. The wedding cake was exquisite and delicious. The groom's cake, a Clemson theme, was a chocolate delight. At the chapel, beautiful wreaths adorned the doors and the bride's bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets were just what Jenny wanted. It was almost like Stacy read her mind! Anytime I emailed Stacy from far away Memphis, he responded quickly, always telling me to stop stressing! We could not have asked for a better experience. Stacy and all his staff are the best and made so many wonderful memories for the bride and groom.

    I knew I wanted a fabulous 30th birthday, but with my job couldn’t afford the time to put it all together, and didn’t want any of my inner circle to have the stress of coordinating it all either. The ONLY call I made was to Stacy at Straton Hall, and I could not possibly be any happier that I did!! With a short conversation and a couple of emails, the entire party was planned, all I had to do was show up and enjoy! Having been to many events Straton Hall had put on, I knew the caliber of what I would be getting, but showing up that evening, I was blown away! The Loft above The Southern Table and Bar was the perfect venue, the food was delicious, the bartender was on point, Island Sound provided additional lighting and DJ’s for the evening which took things up another notch, but the “icing on the birthday cake” was the Straton Hall team, every single member of their team were all so professional and courteous and bent over backwards to accommodate anything myself or my guests needed! For being one of Straton Hall’s smaller events, I never once felt like my event was any less important to any of their team. I absolutely cannot wait until my next opportunity to work with these amazing men and women again!

    Stacy and his crew at Straton Hall Events were amazing. Stacy is a visionary when it comes to pulling events together, and he's great at making things work for all budgets. I would highly recommend Straton Hall to anyone that is planning a wedding or other event.

    Stacy Bass and Straton Hall Events Staff did a fantastic job in creating our daughter, Shelby Gornto's dream wedding. Stacy was always available to answer many questions, to give suggestions and direction as well as keeping the Bride and Mother of the Bride as calm as possible. We would definitely recommend Straton Hall Events for every wedding and event. The professionalism and quality of service was way above our expectations. The food, , its presentation, and the flowers were outstanding. We enjoyed working with Stacy and Straton Hall Events staff.

    When I first met with Stacy and Jay, I knew my daughter would love Straton Hall. Jay and his fabulous team helped plan, design, and cater our daughter's wedding and it was beyond beautiful. Despite some rather nasty weather conditions, the outdoor ceremony and reception could not have been more stunning with the décor and design by Straton Hall and tents/chairs/tables from Beachview Tent. When my husband and I went through the wedding pictures, we were amazed at the attention to detail, the floral arrangements, the food presentation and the designs were just stunning. Jay was calm and reassuring during our entire wild week of stormy weather and was so spot on with his customer service! The food was not only beautifully presented, it was to die for! Our guests were delighted by the quality, quantity, and variety. As parents of the bride, we would highly recommend Straton Hall as a full service wedding designer, caterer, and florist; if we had another daughter, Straton Hall would definitely be our one and only choice!

    I highly recommend Straton Hall Events! I live in Augusta, Georgia and planned my wedding to take place in St. Simons Island, Georgia which was a challenge at times, given that it was a destination wedding, and I also work full time and had limited phone availability during the day. However, Stacy was always very responsive to my emails and was so cheerful and understanding of my needs which was so helpful for me since I had new questions practically every day. Our overall experience was completely seamless!

    The event itself was incredible! The food and our wedding cake were delicious and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed it. The set up was beautiful as well with flowers that added such a romantic and elegant touch. Nick and I were able to eat thanks to the terrific staff that took special care of us and our wedding party. It was exactly what we wanted. Nick and I were able to enjoy our wedding and did not have to worry about a thing. I want to thank Stacy and his team from the bottom of my heart for all of your hard work and perseverance through the numerous challenges you all faced on September 20, 2014 at Villa De Suenos especially during the periods of high winds and heavy rain. Stacy and his team proved that they can weather just about anything! Please personally share this with your team that all of your efforts and kind consideration did not go unnoticed. Nick and I will always hold Stacy and Straton Hall dear to our hearts for everything you all did for making our special day unforgettable and magical.

    Straton Hall Events was the caterer, florist, cake vendor, and event design group for our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and wedding reception - talk about "one stop shop!" The service was absolutely impeccable from the start of the planning process to the big day itself! Planning from out of state is an intimidating task, but Straton Hall made the process fun, exciting, and, most importantly, an absolute breeze! When we were in town, the Straton Hall staff did everything in their power to meet with us at our venue to discuss details. Not only did they truly listen to what we wanted for the event, but also researched and suggested ideas that complimented our "wedding style!" It can also be scary having the same caterer/event design group working both your rehearsal and your wedding due to the fear of the food or decor being too similar. This was simply not the case. The two events couldn't have been more different - each perfect in their own way. When it came down to the big day, to say that our outdoor ceremony and reception were "rained out" would be a complete understatement. Straton Hall remained calm, cool, and collected throughout set up and created an unforgettable event. The ceremony was forced from its original location to being held under the tent where the tables for the reception were originally supposed to be set. Straton Hall, along with Heather Marshall of Island Weddings Day of Coordination and Beachview Tent Rentals, flipped the layout in no time to create the perfect, intimate reception setting that we were hoping for - all while the guests were still underneath! I will go as far as saying that the back-up plan ended up being better than I ever could have imagined and was even better than our original plan! I would recommend Straton Hall to ANY bride looking for a fabulously fun catering and event design group that can work with any budget and work amazingly well under pressure. Well done, Straton Hall!

    I have NO complaints about Straton Hall and the amazing staff who work there. Stacy Bass, the owner, helped me through each step of the process. I was not living in Brunswick at the time I was planning our wedding in Brunswick, and that was never an issue for Stacy. We met in person when we could and maintained communication through email during the entire year I was planning my wedding. Every email I sent was promptly answered, and all of my requests and adjustments were immediately made. I was never made to feel like I was a burden or unreasonable for my many requests (I sent quite a few emails, trust me).

    Straton Hall provided all of the flowers for my wedding in addition to my food, wedding cake, grooms cake, and reception decoration. The best part was that I simply had to tell Stacy what I was envisioning and he took care of the rest, creating something more beautiful than I ever imagined. If you are able, use Straton Hall for your wedding. My husband and I were thrilled with their service. Stacy was so easy to work with, and he made my wedding (both planning and day-of) as stress free as possible. The servers at my wedding were also wonderful. As I said before, I have nothing negative to say about my experience with this vendor.

    I gave a five-star review because this is truly a five-star venue.

    Straton Hall recently catered my wedding reception and I was blown away! Stacy and his team did a fabulous job. I was very particular about what I wanted and how I envisioned everything and they listened to me, made great recommendations and produced a wonderful event. The food was excellent, great service at the reception, beautiful decor and the flowers were absolutely beautiful! They also did my wedding party bouquets and boutonnières. I highly recommend Straton Hall!

    The staff at Straton Hall were extremely professional and on point the day of our wedding and leading up to our big day. Stacy and Jay went above and beyond to make my dreams become much more than I could have ever imagined! I know without a doubt that I would not have been as pleased if I had gone with any other company. They made the stress of planning a wedding completely go away!!!!     Stacy and Jay were so great through the whole wedding process! I didn't use a wedding planner and was stressed out about the logistics - but using Straton Hall put my mind at ease through the whole process. Straton Hall did everything for us from rentals to set up/break down, flowers, catering and cake. It was so much easier having them handle everything. We had a "Coastal Georgia Evening" - the food was amazing, cake was beautiful and delicious and the flowers were gorgeous! I was very happy with all of our flower arrangements, both bouquet and table top. My only complaint: During the cocktail hour, only 1 bar was open and my Dad had to run up and ask them to open the other bar, which they promptly did, but I wish the huge line hadn't formed at the 1 bar in the first place. Overall so happy with Straton Hall, would absolutely use them again, it was a pleasure working with Stacy and Jay!

    Stacy Bass and his staff are the BEST! He just catered my daughter's wedding reception this past weekend on St. Simons Island and did the flowers for the wedding. He also catered her bridesmaids luncheon on Friday before the wedding on Saturday on the third floor loft of Straton Hall. My daughter, April, loved that room because it was the first stop we made in planning her wedding and Stacy made us feel like family. The decor in his loft is so interesting and personable, her bridesmaids loved it and the food was great. At the wedding reception I could not eat for our guest stopping by my table to tell me how great the food and decor were. The shrimp and grits were out of this world along with the mash potato bar and all the other food items. Stacy made us feel like family from the first visit to start planning the wedding until the last I was dotted and T was crossed. He has a very friendly staff that makes you know they love their jobs and are appreciated by Stacy. I am going to miss talking to all of them now that the weddding is over. I would highly recommend Stacy Bass and Straton Hall Events to anyone. Words can not describe the personal and professional treatment your will receive from Stacy, Margo and his staff. I am so greatful someone recommend him to me for my daughter's wedding.

    Where do I even begin? Stacy Bass, of Straton Hall Events, made my wedding dream a reality just last evening. From the moment I first met Stacy, I realized, right away, that his work is more than just a business for him. Instead, it is his passion. As I explained my wedding day vision, he listened patiently and offered suggestions that would make my wedding unlike any other. As a detail-oriented and self-diagnosed OCD bride, over the course of my engagement, I met with Stacy on several occasions and also peppered him with questions via e-mail. Through every contact, Stacy patiently responded providing answers to all of my questions and assuring me that my wedding would be spectacular. He was absolutely right. My wedding was just last evening and one of the first things I wanted to do was hop on this site to let other brides know that if you are looking for a one-of-a-kind and unbelievable wedding – then Straton Hall should be your choice. Stacy was responsible for our flowers/décor, event coordination, and cake on our wedding day. For our rehearsal dinner, he did it all from the flowers/décor to the food to providing the venue. For our rehearsal evening, Stacy designed the event to reflect the southern upbringing of my groom. For the wedding, he satisfied our desire for a “beachy” yet elegant evening. The flowers/décor were exquisite. Our event coordinator, Heather Marshall, met every single need. The coconut crème cake was divine. When I saw Stacy’s work on my wedding weekend, after waiting for this day to arrive for a VERY long time, it brought tears to my eyes. My every single dream came true. I can also say that the time leading up to the event never felt like work, instead, it was an experience. A man who began as simply a vendor, I now consider a friend. In closing, I know from personal experience, if you want the very best and if you are looking for a one-of-a-kind wedding day you will never forget, then look NO further than Stacy Bass of Straton Hall.

    Our daughter's rehearsal dinner and wedding reception were absolutely stunning due to the hard work and brilliance of Stacy Bass, Jay Anderson, and their fabulous staff. Coming from out of town for this destination wedding I relied totally on Stacy for all of my needs - food and decorations for the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception; all the bridal flowers and church flowers, and the two cakes. Stacy transformed the house we had rented for our Low Country Boil rehearsal dinner and then re-evented the same venue for the wedding reception the next night. He creates magic and is able to make it all seem effortless and fun! At the 11th hour I threw special requests at him and he was able to make it happen. I will always be grateful to Stacy and Jay for making my daughter's wedding week a dream come true. I only wish there were more stars I could give them!!

Stacy Bass's talent for transforming our tent into something beyond anything that we could have imagined is nothing short of brilliant and Jay Anderson's catering talents insured that our guests raved about the food. I can't thank all of you enough for your talents, your energy, your attention to every detail, and for being both professional and making us feel right at home throughout the process. We had an event at Sea Island a few years ago and were very disappointed in every aspect of that experience. Straton Hall is the best of the best and we're very thankful to have found you.

    Stacy & Margo were an absolute pleasure to work with. They made the entire wedding planning process so easy and stress-free. They handled all of our reception catering, wedding cake and all of the flowers. Everything came out awesome. The staff that set everything up and worked the reception were wonderful and so friendly. All of the extra little touches they did finished off the whole look of our wedding and reception perfectly. We are still getting compliments about how great the food was and how beautiful everything turned out. I really can't compliment them enough!

    Straton Hall provided catering services for my daughter's wedding of about 100. They were extremely efficient, working with us all the way up to the wedding. They provided beautiful decor, setting up everything and taking it all down while we enjoyed ourselves. The food was hot and it was good. The choice of selections for the food was super and the staff did an excellent job serving. They were courteous and efficient from beginning to the end. My daughter was very well pleased. They provided the flowers and the cake for the bride and the groom. They were beautiful and tasted very good. I would recommend them anytime for any event!

    Although this event was not a wedding, it was a cocktail reception for 200 guests from a convention of Georgia Historic Sites. Straton Hall Events provided an outstanding array of interesting and delicious hors doeuvres which were presented with creative table settings. In addition, since the reception was held on a Plantation, the Straton Hall staff dressed in formal attire and hoop skirts to represent plantation styles. The guests loved it! Margo, Stacy and Jay were all so enthusiastic and helpful in assisting us in picking menu items and very accomodating with alternate plans in case of rain. It was truly a joy to work with them!

    From the moment we met, I just knew Stacy got me and my vision! Stacy was not just the florist at our wedding at the Jekyll Island Club on October 27, 2012, but was a visionary event designer for our wedding weekend! I could never thank you and your amazingly talented professional team enough for everything. The floral and event design was truly spectacular! From the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, to the pre reception, reception, and brunch everything was perfection and Stacy, Jay, Lulu, Kim, and the rest of the team didn't leave out one detail! Stacy and his super creative team constructed this amazing event that Cliff and I nor our families or guests would or would ever want to ever forget. Stacy took my dreams and ran with it, creating the most magical weekend so surpassing my idea of the perfect wedding!! Everyone is still talking about my phalaenopsis cascading/broach incrusted glam bridal bouquet (along with everything else)- it was really something out of this world.
    Stacy and his team were extremely professional and also very personable. We have become great friends and my mother and I are really looking forward to First Fridays at the Manor :)! I would highly recommend any and all of the services Straton Hall Events offers. They are all wonderful and are loved by my husband, family, friends, and me!!

    I cannot say enough wonderful things about Stacy, Jay and their professional staff. They went way above our expectations in every area. Correspondence was easy and it seemed like they knew what I wanted even when I couldn't quite put it into words. Our entire wedding weekend was a fairy tale thanks to these guys! We are still getting comments from guests like the following "the best wedding food I've ever had" "dream come true" "it was like something out of a movie" etc. and EVERYONE has asked for their number... He responded promptly and let us know that our satisfaction was his goal. The flowers were magnificent, exactly what my daughter had envisioned. We would recommend Straton Hall without reservation.

    Stacy, Jay and the rest of their staff are the most delightful people to work with. They created a beautiful ceremony and reception for my sister in 2004 and were extremely easy to work with, so it was a no-brainer to go back for the assistance and lovely talent when we began planning my wedding.

    We created the menu, in which they did wonderfully, as expected. We wanted a relaxing, southern, chic look and feel. They have such amazing ideas. From our southern, heavy-finger-foods menu, to our peach infused cake and cupcakes with peaches as toppers and decor, to our rustic southern set-up with mason jars, magnolia leaves and an assortment of peach flowers - They NAILED it! Everyone love dthe hor's douvres, the food, the cupcakes, the decor. It reflected us to a T, as well as Straton Hall's effortless attempt to carry through our vision. They are the most down-to-earth, southern-hospitality at its finest. Genuinely cared about our experience, and they created the day as if it was not just another "job" for them to do.

    I would definitely recommend using them for any kind of event!

    They aren't your typical caterers or event planners -- they become your friends and treat you like family!

    I'm so glad I chose Straton Hall to cater our wedding. My husband knows Stacy personally so it was easy who we were going to ask. I had no worries about how our wedding reception was going to be. I've seen their work and I know they are top notch! I highly recommend them to all bride's to be! Just sit back and enjoy your day because it will be the most beautiful day you've ever experienced!

    I had an amazing experience working with Stacy & Jay at Straton Hall for my wedding. They have such impeccable taste which creates that something special you're looking for on your wedding day. The Southern cuisine we chose for the food was delicious- I'm still craving the shrimp and grits! I wasn't sure what direction I wanted for my flowers but Stacy gave me great ideas and came up with the most gorgeous centerpieces and bouquets. Most importantly, though, everyone there was a pleasure to work with and kept everything running smoothly for me. I am the type to be a little high-strung and was certainly nervous about my wedding day but I couldn't have asked for better service.

    Thanks to Margo and the staff at Straton Hall for the fantastic job they did catering our daughter's wedding on Jekyll Island. From start to finish, Margo was always pleasant and easy to work with. There was a possibility that the arrival of a tropical storm might ruin the plans for the wedding on the beach, and so the day before the wedding, Stacy, one of the owners, said that he could arrange an indoor space for the wedding, if we needed it. (Fortunately, it was a beautiful, sunny day, and the tropical storm did not arrive until the following week, so the wedding proceeded as planned on the beach.) The food was delicious, and the wedding cake was an artistic masterpiece modeled upon the bride and groom's ideas for the cake. The wedding was a huge success, in part thanks to Straton Hall.

    This was a dream come true and you made it all perfect. The flowers were the prettiest that I have ever seen and the food wasn't just delicious....it was almost too pretty to eat.     Stacy and Jay did a terrific job making my wedding day so special! The flowers were stunning, the food was excellent, and the wedding cake was beautiful and delicious. It is a great convience to order food, flowers, and cake from one vendor. Everything was done punctually and they were very helpful in assisting us in making cost effective choices. I felt very comfortable leaving my special day in their hands and they did not disappoint me! Straton Hall's staff was excellent and the events of the day were carried out efficiently.

    My daughter's wedding was two weeks ago at the Jones Center on St. Simons Island and Stacy with Straton Hall provided a reception that will never be forgotten! Food was fantastic with the delicious shrimp and grits, beef tenderloin and pecan crusted chicken! As mother of the bride, I had told Stacy that I wanted a few surprises and wanted people to be wowed when they walked into the reception! Well they were! He had gone that extra mile to display curly willows with little candles and also some elegant topiaries! It was truly beautiful! And my friends are still talking about how good the food was! Straton Hall is the very best caterer in the area! If you pick them, you will agree with me-----------they are awesome!!!!

    Stacy with Straton Hall did a perfect job with our wedding at Villa de Suenos on St. Simons Island. They took care of not only the flowers but our wedding cake as well as the food. I cannot say enough about the quality of each of these services. Their presentation was simply spectacular. The shrimp and grits has been raved about ever since and some of the guests said it was the BEST that they have ever tasted. We also had osso bucco which was fantastic. The attention to details was impeccable and their staff was efficient and very fun to be around. The flowers were amazing. Especially considering that I did not even see them until the day of! I felt as if their team were part of our perfect celebration. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a wedding that turns out just how they envision their special day. PERFECTO!!!

    Straton Hall did a fantastic job with my wedding! Their presentation was beautiful and all my guests raved about how good the food was, especially the cake. I wish I could show you a picture, it was sooo elegant! The best part was how pleasant and easy they all were to work with. I just told Stacy what I wanted and he made it happen without my having to give it another thought. I never contacted them without getting a prompt response, and it all turned out exactly like I wanted. Great job!

    Straton Hall catered my son's rehearsal dinner at the Lighthouse Museum on Saint Simons in October, 2014. Jay was my "go to" person with Straton Hall. His business partner Stacy Bass is very visible during the process also. This company is just wonderful!! They provided a "turn key" service. The food was scrumptious. The floral arrangements were just lovely! (LuLu is spectacular) I didn't have to worry about anything. Straton Hall's reputation is the epitome of Southern Gentility and Grace!!

    Straton Hall would be an absolute MUST...when hosting ANY EVENT...in the Golden Isles!!

    What can I say! Stacey Bass and Jay at Straton Hall were Incredible. From the low country boil around the pool at the Beachview Club to the Fabulous food and service at the wedding reception under the tent, it all contributed to the perfect wedding weekend for Megan and Mark. You and Jay were always there with help and advice to make my job as mother of the bride much easier and stress free. Also, your staff was friendly and professional and on top of our every need both evenings. We received so many compliments on the food and the cake was delicious. We loved the kissing fish on top!     Stacy and Jay were very accommodating to our menu wishes when we went for our tasting and came up with an amazing menu for a great value. When our wedding day came, I had no idea how many additional things they would do to add to our decor. They had their own decor for the buffet line - dry pasta, vegetables, etc. in glass containers, 6-8 foot tall iced tea and water containers, etc. I thought we would get the basic catering deal with just the food, but they made our tent look even more amazing with the add-ons they bring with them. Not to mention, the food was AMAZING.

    We knew from the minute we met Stacy that Straton Hall was for us. His parents home had burned to the ground earlier in the day but he still kept his appointment (our inital) with us! When my daughter and I reviewed his portfolio everything was stunning. She did not have a "vision" for her flowers so she simply turned to Stacy and said "you are the expert, do whatever you think would look best within our budget." He did not disappoint her! The wedding was held at The Jekyll Island Club Hotel at Crane Cottage and it was absolutely perfect!
    If there were any problems, Stacy and his staff made them disappear before we were aware. We also rented an antique car for the exit and it pulled up right on time. I can't say enough about Stratton Hall and would not hesitate to use them in the future!

    Stacy and team did an amazing job on my wedding. Food was amazing, cake was amazing! We received compliments on the food by many guests all night long. Stacy was a saint and helped us all along the way. We also stayed at Brunswick Manor for food tasting. Great atmosphere!

    Our first of 4 daughters got married on May 6, 2011 and she and her man booked Straton Hall on St. Simon Island, GA. We live in Michigan so we were not familiar with Straton Hall. I must say I was very pleased with their choice of caterers. Stacy & Jay were very helpful with me in the decisions that had to be made from a long distance away. I dealt with Stacy in regards to the food & the bar for the wedding night. He was very friendly and helpful! the food was excellent. Everyone from Michigan that attended the wedding loved all the food! The wait staff was very friendly and attentive to the guests. Especially Nancy the bartender for the evening! She was the best!! I would defenitely recommend Straton Hall Caterers for any event!

    My son just got married this past weekend at St. Simons. We were given the name of Straton Hall Catering, from Curt at the Lighthouse. They came very highly recommended and we were not disappointed!!! From the time we met Stacy he went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we got exactly what we wanted and that things would be to our satisfaction. Any questions that we had over the course of the year leading up to our big event were answered promptly. My husband, son and fiance visited them this past February for the food tasting and were extremely pleased with their choice of caterers and couldn't wait for the wedding for everyone else to get to sample their delicious food!! Not only did they provide a better than five star meal for our guests, but Stacy came to the rescue before the wedding after a flower arrangement had been destroyed in delivery. he fixed it and you could not tell that anything had ever happened! He sure saved the day!!!! Jay fixed the most wonderful food for the evening. The guests were all talking about how fantastic the food was and a lot went back for seconds. Stacy was on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly and the wait staff was extremely friendly, they smiled and were friendly to the guests and made sure everyone was taken care of. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Straton Hall Catering, the owners and staff go above and beyond the call of duty and we are still getting compliments on the great food we had at the wedding. I highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding that wants the absolute best food at the best value and the best staff in town to carry it out and make sure everything goes as you want. thank you, thank you, thank you Stacy and Jay!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will be back to st. simons soon and plan to visit you all.

    I have been involved with a lot of weddings, and this was our son's wedding and I cannot say enough about how AWESOME these guys are to work with. We had approx. 100 guest and they were all talking about how wonderful the reception was, and the food was the best ever at a wedding. We highly recommend the shrimp and grits, and tortellini. Stacy and Jay ( owners of Straton Hall ) went well beyond the call of duty when one of the large centerpieces got destroyed by a delivery person, and re-made the whole thing and looked like new.
    We will also be back to see them at the Brunswick Manor bed and breakfast soon.

    I hired Stacy Bass of Straton Hall Catering for my daughter's wedding that was held on April 23rd, 2011. Being that she is my only daughter, it was very important to me that I hire someone that I had no doubt would do a professional job and serve delicious food. Stacy and his staff did just that. I met with Stacy on several occasions. He was great in providing me with suggestions and guidance on not only the food items that were served, but on how they were to be served and displayed. His stations were elegant and inviting. All who attended had nothing but great things to say about the delicious menu. Straton Hall also created a beautiful wedding cake and did all the flowers for the wedding and reception. Everything was perfect. They made all the bouquets, boutonnieres, coursages, and floral arrangements. One arrangement was placed in the center of the venue's swimming pool and was absolutely gorgeous.

    I highly recommend Stacy Bass and his staff at Straton Hall. Stacy is eager to make your event everything you want it to be and is responsive to all your questions and/or concerns. His staff consists of very courteous, hard-working professionals. Straton Hall is a caterer/floral designer that you can have confidence in and their performance will meet all your expectations. They exceeded mine.

    There are not enough words to express how thankful I am for Jay, Staci, and their incredible team. I was stressed and worried about many things, but no worries were ever present with Straton Hall. They delivered and wowed beyond our expectations.
    Jay and Staci listened to everything we wanted and enhanced what we had. They were absolutely conscious of our style and our budget and were never the pushy types. My flowers and centerpieces were gorgeous. We really didn't want to take away from the natural beauty of our venue (Saint Simons Lighthouse) and they absolutely made sure that everything complemented our style and our surroundings. Jay even took the time to whisk me away and show me everything before all the guest arrived. I was able to soak in all the details I had been envisioning for months.

    The food was great! They even sent us home with leftovers so that we can enjoy it for a couple more days. The staff was also amazing. Our bartender had a great personality, and everyone was so kind and accommodating. Someone kept coming during cocktail hour (when we were taking pictures) and made sure I had drinks and a few bites to enjoy!

    Thank you for making sure we had a stress free and beautiful day. We will think back on this day fondly and we will always appreciate how everyone at Straton Hall made us feel welcome and well-taken care of.

    Stacy and Jay did an outstanding job on our reception. The food was prepared with care, creativity and was delicious. The venue was decorated over the top with beautiful Christmas scenes in every room. The major attraction was a floor to ceiling Christmas tree decorated with thousands of Radko ornaments. We could not have been more satisfied with the professionalism of the Stacy-Jay team. Our guests commented all night on the elegant and tasty cuisine. We highly recommend them to anyone seeking something special.

    After a year of planning from 800 miles away, our daughter was married on St Simons Island. Throughout the process we worked with Stacy/Straton Hall. Stacy was our event planner, florist and caterer. He delivered beyond our expectations in all areas. Everyone kept telling me to just let him “do his thing”. Being the control freak I am that was hard to do – but I am so glad I did. Not only was his finished product beautiful (and delicious), - Stacy, Jay, Margo and the rest of the staff seemed to charm their way into our guests heart. It was a memorable evening and several told us it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended. Some folks in Texas highly recommend Straton Hall.

    Wonderfully delightful and professional

    Professional! Creative! Delicious! & Fun! I could go on and on about Stacy and his staff at Stratton Hall Events! We used Stratton Hall for the rehearsal dinner and welcome party the night before the wedding, as well as, all the catering for the wedding. I met with Stacy at the rehearsal dinner venue a few weeks before the event to go over all the final details for our sit down dinner for 55 guest and the welcome party immediately following for 125 guest. Stacy took all my stress and anxiety away! I knew that it would be gorgeous, delicious and professional. Their floral designer made all the table centerpieces and a huge beautiful arrangement for the entry table. They also strung lights and decorated tables in the outdoor space. Stacy is so fun to work with and he has a special gift of knowing your vision and then making it happen! The food was delicious, his professional staff passed appetizers during cocktail hour and delivered a wonderful dinner as they took care of all our wishes! My son, his bride and I were so very happy about the wonderful evening that was so professionally orchestrated by Stacy and his exceptional staff, we can’t thank them enough!! Highly recommend and I would definitely use again!

    Me and my husband got married October 14, 2017 on Jekyll Island and utilized Straton Hall as our florist.
    If I was rating the beauty of the flowers and how perfect they were I would easily give the highest rating!
    We were on a limited budget with flowers, and Stacy really did work with us. However, the excel sheets he sends with "updated" prices are often confusing and not completely updated. I will say that this made me nervous in the planning process, but once I saw the outcome I can say that he most certainly is paying attention to what you want.

    **I will also note that the majority of our planning happened right after Hurricane Irma hit Georgia, so this may have had an affect on Stratons Halls catching up on missed work.

    The Straton Hall team made our wedding day a stress-free dream! For the entire wedding weekend their services were used for bridal luncheon catering, rehearsal dinner florals (which were used at the reception also), florals for ceremony and reception, reception catering, the wedding cake and pies for dessert. I was referred to Straton Hall by multiple people. I did my research early in the wedding planning process and got quotes from various catering companies on SSI. I chose Straton Hall as my caterer because of their professionalism and willingness to offer help before they were hired. Other caterers had similar pricing structures but tacked on additional fees for things like wearing a standard uniform.
    In addition to their professionalism and competitive pricing, I loved that I was able to bundle so many elements into one vendor - Straton even handled the table and chair rentals. I never once doubted their ability to streamline the whole planning process for me and Jay was there to help every step of the way further instilling my confidence in their work. We had planned on having outdoor seating for the reception; however, due to an unexpected drop in temperature, Jay had to make a game-time decision to bring that seating inside and keeping that stress off my plate. The only "negative" that I have to add is that the shrimp and grits were sadly not as good as they were at our tasting but the guests had no clue and still loved them! If you're having a wedding near the Golden Isles, I would highly recommend using Straton Hall - I did my research, experienced the results and was not disappointed! And be sure to get the candied bacon!!

    I would absolutely recommend Straton Hall for anyone's wedding needs. I planned my wedding in St. Simon's/Sea Island from Augusta and Jay and his team were a one stop shop. They handled the design, catering, rentals and florals. They have wonderful taste and know exactly what they are doing. They really listened to my taste and preferences and did a phenomenal job creating exactly what I had in mind. Also, Jay was a blast to work with which was a relief during all of the wedding stress!! Everything turned out beautiful and they made my weekend perfect.

    They did an amazing job on my southern flared wedding in the old south colors... right down to helping pick out what type of food would satisfy the theme and the hungry guests....mini tomato sandwiches, lemonade, caramel and apples...

    Straton Hall really impressed us with the initial and final product. In between was a little so so but everything worked great. Food was great especially for the price! Well done Straton Hall!

    Straton Hall Events went above and beyond my expectations! Our guests were raving about the food and beverages. From the taste to the presentation, they truly are one of a kind. As a destination wedding bride, it was great to have a team that I could totally rely on. I was blown away at the reception by how incredible the decor, food, appetizers, drinks, dessert were. They really transformed our venue into an elegant evening and I hope I'm able to work with them in the future. I have received numerous compliments on the quality of everything that night. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Straton Hall! :)

    The presentation was beautiful, but we were disappointed with the quality of the food. We had such high hopes, especially after the tasting, but what was actually served on our wedding day was not good. We were supposed to have a macaroni & cheese bar, but were given very runny mac & cheese soup with the only add on toppings being more cheese. Our pecan chicken was extremely dry, the roasted vegetables were underwhelming (and were missing the vegetable variety), and they didn't put out menu signs like we had talked about. But, our cake was awesome and the shrimp & grits, salad, and rolls were very good. All in all, Tracy and Stacy are very nice and warm people, we just felt like their business wasn't very interested in our little wedding. To top it off, we tipped all of the waitstaff at the end of the night and they didn't even say thank you.

    Straton Hall Catering provided the food and beverage services for our wedding reception. While the staff and their professionalism was rather exceptional, the food was less than desirable. For the amount of money that we spent on the reception alone, we expected perfection and that was not what we received. We opted for a buffet style, but did not anticipate the food to be cold when it was served. None of our wedding favors were placed on the tables and our seating place cards were not displayed as well. Our guest had no clue as to which table they were to be seated and we had to have a family member call out guests names to have them seated. I did not realize this would not have been taken care of being that I was advised to drop the favors off prior to the wedding ceremony. I will take part of the blame for the snafu because I should have communicated better, but I just expected more from such a prestigious catering service like Straton Hall. In addition, there was no bridal table reserved for the bridal party and we had to have a table full of guests moved so we could sit down after our first dance. Otherwise, Straton Hall did provide a good service because they were willing to work with us to fix the issues we had. If you are going to utilize their services you must communicate very clearly your expectations in order for your needs to be met.

    I had always heard tons of great things about Straton Hall. The business actually started in my home town and then moved to Jekyll Island. Stacey the owner can be very difficult to work with, but his taste is amazing. To be fair the flowers were beautiful and the food was amazing. The reason that I rated them so low was all service related. At the time of my wedding he had a lady working for him named Cricket. At the first meeting she was great, but then the week of my wedding I went to review the last of the information with her and she had ordered the wrong flowers and hadn't take notes from ANY of the emails that I had sent her. She then shrugged it off and said that the flowers she ordered were pretty and basically for me to just deal with it (she ended up being fired the week after my wedding. Not because of me but I have a feeling she had done this to other people too.)

    I was a pretty go with the flow kind of bride so I shrugged off the flowers being different. They weren't what I wanted but they were nice all the same. My most frustrating moment was with Stacey. He had stored my cake for me since a bridesmaid made the cake (she has done it professionally for years). When she went to pick up the cake the day of the wedding all of the fondant had melted. Stacey tells my bridesmaid that she "better get the bride drunk before she sees the cake." He didn't offer an apology or even pretend to care that the cake was ruined. Then during the reception several people reported to me that he was bad mouthing the cake to his employees and said that his cakes were so much better and it would have never happened to his cake. (Cricket had also told me a story of how he melted another cake that had been stored with him the year before). I reported what happened to my husband and after our honeymoon he called Stacey to express his disappointment in his service. Stacey told my husband that the cake baker (my best friend) was a liar and he never said or did any of those things. So not only did he melt the cake and mock me, he also called my friend a liar. All we needed from him was a simple apology. I understand that mistakes happen, but when they happen you apologize.

    If you want food quality, definitely go with the caterer, it was superb, but be prepared for some serious customer service issues and day-of drama.

    We used Straton Hall to cater our New Year's Eve wedding in St. Simon's Island, GA. When we reserved the venue, there was only this and one other caterer recommended, and this one had a much more agreeable package, so we went for the food tasting.

    And I have to say, the food quality is AMAZING, and it carried through to the night of the wedding. However, as a DIY bride (who works as an event planner) I would not recommend using this caterer without a wedding coordinator (not just a day-of).

    The caterers really sold us on them being a full-service provider (in fact, we used them as our florist as well) but when it came down to the last month they became increasingly difficult to work with, to the point that we considered going another direction. The day of the wedding arrived, and the flowers were not delivered to the ceremony, so we had to send a runner to go get them. To top it off, the bar was shut down one hour early (as not per the event contract) and my now husband and I were argued with about this at our own wedding (because they didn't like the answer from our day-of coordinator).

    We learned later from our guests (thankfully they didn't make our wedding day dramatic) that during the reception, food was left empty or out too long and became very cold and guests were denied it when they wanted more and when our day-of coordinators spoke with the staff, the waiters were great but the owners were rude. Then, when it came time for clean-up the staff was hurried and unhelpful, so most of the guests had to stay and clean up (something that we had also discussed in our contract).

    I still do recommend this caterer, but with caution and only with a seasoned professional at your side. You need someone really strong to put up with all the BS and to keep them to their word.

    Straton Hall dropped the ball

    $21,000 down the drain.... We contracted with Straton Hall in April 2022 for our daughter's October 2022 wedding. We had secured the venue (not Straton Hall or it's properties) in May 2021 and also used the venue's planning/coordination services. The venue highly recommended Straton Hall and had photos of previous events they had done at the venue to share with us. We also reached out to friends in the area who had used them for their large events and they highly recommended them. We came down in April, May and July to meet with Jay and our venue coordination team. I thought we were all on the same page and the event would be amazing.

    The day of the wedding was anything but... We did not the get the quality of florals we paid for and arrangements that were paid for were missing from the event.

    We had a spectacular tasting in July to run through our menu. For passed appetizers we had mini crab cakes, cocktail corn cakes with mango sauce and signature mocktails. For the main course we had an pear salad with dried cranberries and goat cheese fritters, Prime Rib, Shrimp and Grits, a mac and cheese bar, grilled roasted vegetables, and rolls. We also used them for the bride and groom's cakes. The tasting was fabulous and we felt great about having them as a our caterer.

    We had planned for 150 guests and added 50 more guests 4 weeks prior to the wedding to be prepared and not run out of food.

    The day of the wedding... We did not get chargers for the tables. The reserved tables had chargers on them, the other tables did not. We paid for 200 chargers. We paid for 9 staff members, the venue told us we received 4-5 for the event. I can't speak to the appetizers because the wedding party didn't get any. The mocktails were white grape juice and apple juice with sliced apple as garnish. The salad was plated as promised and guests enjoyed it. The main food was cold and the order of guests being served was nothing like we talked about or planned for which cut time off of the dancing segment of the evening. We were told a sous chef would be there to saute the shrimp and that didn't happen. The shrimp and gits were all mixed together and served. The food was not warm at best. The bride's wedding cake did not have the florals we discussed nor paid for. We were told the cakes would be cut by the bride and groom and taken to the back to be plated and served. The venue staff cut the brides cake leaving the groom's cake uncut until the groom's sister began cutting it with her dinner knife and serving it. (How embarrassing) We ran out of sweet tea before dinner began. A floral arrangement was missing from the container on that table. We have reached out to Straton Hall several times since the event and have nothing back. It is my understanding that Straton Hall has been sold but Stacy Bass, the owner at the time of the event, has made no attempt to make this right with us. Sadly, our daughter's wedding was not the caliber of florals, food, or service that we expected, were promised, and paid for a month before the event. Straton Hall dropped the ball and we certainly didn't get $21,000 of service, florals, or food.

    WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Straton Hall came very highly recommended to me through the venue where our wedding was being held. The 1st conversation I had with Straton Hall was with Margo, who was lovely throughout our entire process! After speaking with Margo and planning out numerous menu options I asked for a meeting with Stacy, he was hard to get in touch with and sent very short rude emails when trying to set up a date. Our first meeting was okay, I thought Stacy was funny and very talented but he took very few notes during our meeting & didnt take any of the photos I had brought for him. Through the next few months Stacy and I emailed A LOT and again most of his emails were short and rude. Our food tasting went VERY well, food was AMAZING! Jay, Margo and Stacy were great! After our meeting I had no doubts about how perfect our day would be BUT the day of the wedding ALL of our flowers were wrong! our food was COLD! the cake was PITIFUL (tasted great BUT awful presentation) & on top of EVERYTHING Stacy was overheard calling my mother a BITCH! I understand that catering is what Straton Hall does for a living BUT this was my only wedding & I hoped (especially for the amount of money we were paying) it would at least be close to perfect!

    I must say after reading all the wonderful reviews on Staton Hall I was great dissapointed with what I saw on my wedding day. From the begging I did not like the attitude of their florist but figured you did not have to like the artist to love their work. Their communication from the beginning was horrible. I constantly had to chase them to get updates. Paying <$900 I guess wasn't good enough for their time in giving their 100% effort. My bouqeut was not as I had asked, they gave me a cluster bundle of flowers instead of the cascade waterfall bouquet I was paying for. My cake topping flowers where also not the flowers I had asked for, and got small rose toppings instead orchids going down my cake. The center pieces seemed as if they were all shoved into the vases in 5mins, poorly placed. The only good thing was none of my guest knew any better and my venue was amazing! At that point you just have to go with the flow!

    Shockingly Rude and Unprofessional

    It seems to me that you will only have a good experience working with Straton Hall Events if you use them to perform your entire wedding planning process. Unfortunately, they were a preferred contracted wedding vendor with my wedding venue. As they were the only vendor with a functional website at the time that I was choosing them, I made them my first selection. I was assured that they were the best in the state, that being said, I feel that I received subpar service because I wasn't one of their all-inclusive wedding brides, but just a client for a smaller project. It was impossibly hard to receive any e-mails and responses from them. I went months without ever hearing from them, and they were not proactive in the least bit in working with me. I supplied as many photos, examples, and descriptions of what I was looking for, however, they repeatedly refused up until the week of my wedding to supply any sort of photographs or confirmation that they "understood" what I wanted. Stacy, the owner, also called my husband, and aggressively and unprofessionally berated him, saying that he had never been so micromanaged before and that we needed to just "trust them to do their job". That being said, the wedding day came, and I had never been so sorely disappointed in my life at my wedding florals. I repeatedly vocalized my concern to the florist and the wedding venue that I was concerned that they didn't truly understand my vision of what I wanted and what they were going to do on the day of if they did not deliver. Well, it turns out, they didn't deliver what I had asked for, not even close, and nothing was done. So now, I will for the rest of my life have wedding photos that I do not want because of the flowers that I never asked for that they told me to just "trust them because I'll love them". The long and short of it is, even thinking back to all of the e-mails and conversations, the flowers don't look anything like the examples I submitted or the descriptions that I provided to them. I wanted them to submit representative examples of everything that I asked, and even then, they said that they took "inspiration" from those photos, and their "inspiration" and "interpretation" wasn't anything that I wanted in the end. It was so shocking to me that we had to have the wedding venue and other vendors that knew them to get involved before they would even respond to any e-mails or messages, and that when they finally did, they thought it was appropriate to speak so rudely to their clients. Overall, a shockingly dismal day.

    I would not recommend this company to anyone. The food is overpriced and nothing more than average. They do not communicate well, for example: We rented a banquet hall that they cater exclusively. When we first toured the hall, the foyer was filled with couches and chairs, which we assumed would be there for our wedding since we werent told otherwise. A week before my wedding, I find out that the furniture is rentable, and because we did not rent it for our event, it would not be available. I had planned the entire cocktail hour for the foyer, and we ended up not having anyplace for our guests to sit during the cocktail hour. I had problems with them throughout the entire planning process, but the worst thing was that we rented the room for $1000 for 4 hours (6p-10p), at 9:30pm, my MIL starting taking down the centerpieces because the catering manager told her we had to be completely out by 10:00 or they would charge us $100 an hour. He also told the lighting company they had to take down all their lighting equipment by 10. I was furious! We paid $1000 for the event to last from 6-10, this timeframe does not include set up or take down. I halted everyone from taking anything down and told the manager we werent paying them anything extra, and the event will end at 10. Could you imagine my guests having to see the reception room being dissambled before it was even over? Do not use this company!!!

    Straton Hall did NOT do what they said they were going to do for my wedding. They were very difficult to work with and did not communicate well at all. I emailed them numerous times without responses until AFTER supposed decision and money deadlines. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. We paid big money for a Shrimp and Grits STATION and a DESERT TABLE with my wedding cake and grooms pie and got a big bowl of grits with some seasoning and shrimp in it to where my guests had to serve themselves out of. They served the grooms pie on clear plates that we didn't need. (they knew I wanted to use the mismatched china that my family and I had either rented for the event or collected ourselves) They brought out cut slices and set them on random food tables When we cut our wedding cake. We didn't get to eat one bite of our food bc Stacy and team were taking away the food right after we had our first dances. I also asked for a drink station with glass canisters with spouts people can turn of infused water/punch/ and tea and showed them multiple times pictures of what I wanted and got pitchers of water/tea with lemons cut up in them and one punch bowl. Jay and Stacy were both told likes and dislikes throughout the process and asked specific questions throughout that were promised and didn't happen. One example is the fact that I showed in person and thru email numerous times the photo of what I wanted my flowers to be and it literally took months for stacy to get it right. the first flower proposal had two types and colors of flowers. NOT AT ALL what the picture showed or what we talked about. Completely unprofessional and short rude email responses when actually got responded too. Would never recommend them to anyone. Looks are very deceiving in photos. BEWARE!

    As guests, we saw a S. Hall employee cutting from the rosemary bushes at the venue site for decoration and/or food!! I believe the bride paid S. Hall around 12 thousand dollars---that should be enough to cover rosemary--tacky tacky tacky! In addition, the decor they provided was common.

    The front of the house staff was standoffish and snooty. The serving staff MALE and female were all piled into the women's restroom getting dressed for the event and you would have thought they were at a house party the way they were carrying on.... the mother of the groom had to use the restroom during all of this! They wear khakis and black golf shirts--is it too hard to arrive at the event already dressed?

    Lastly, I was unable to stomach eating food because there were platters of deviled eggs reported to be sitting out unrefrigerated before noon...the food wasn't served until 2pm!

    They say you get what you pay for...well not in this case!
