The Stranahan House was the perfect venue for my big day. The scene right on the water was absolutely beautiful! The team at the Stranahan House was incredibly accomodating in making my big day everything I imagined it would be and more. Lindsay was amazing to work with -- even before we booked our venue, she gave us her cell phone number in case we had any questions. As the wedding planning went on, we were always in touch and she answered all our questions. Then, when we had significantly more guests than we anticipated, she kept me calm and always found a solution to make it work! Our guests loved the historic venue, the view from of the New River, and were so impressed with how everything turned out.Lindsay was amazing to work with -- even before we booked our venue, she gave us her cell phone number in case we had any questions. The Stranahan House is the most historic house in Fort Lauderdale and in the perfect location on the Intercoastal, right on Las Olas Blvd. We chose it because we were having multiple wedding ceremonies, and needed something with ambiance that didn't break the bank - because it is a museum, the Stranahan House charges a low rental fee for events. We had our ceremony under their already standing tent, adjacent to the house and then tented the pavilion outside the House gates for our reception; cocktails were on the water. The House was open during my event so that my guests could enjoy it a little history of Fort Lauderdale during cocktails. They required that we rent a luxury restroom unit so as to not overload the little restroom at the venue itself, as well as security during event hours, which was fine. They work very closely with certain vendors who know their rules very well, so catering was extremely easy (with Hugh's Catering - reviewed by me as well). Lindsay C. was our contact at the Stranahan House and she was with me from the time I arrived at my venue until after everyone left. The event was wonderful and Lindsay was beyond helpful. Everything turned out beautifully! The team at The Historic Stranahan House was very flexible to meet with us when we were available and make sure that our vision came to life. We did not hire a professional wedding planner, so they helped out a lot with the organization of the event.
