Great wedding venue
We worked with Samantha Cohen for our big day. She quickly responded to all my emails, which was quite a feat. She was extremely patient with both me and my Mom, who is sometimes hard to please. The bar was awesome and everything went according to plan! My plan sort of fell a part...but the wedding itself went great. Ha! Anyway, it's a great value. We used salon A for the ceremony and then we used B and C for the reception. We also loved using the bar! And there was a cute outdoor area for the bar, and that was a great place to catch your breath after killing it on the dance floor and also being drunk and sweaty. The groomsmen defintely took advantage and smoked cigars. Overall, it was super fun, super easy, and well worth the cost. I highly recommend. Lastly, we were unfortunately super disappointed with the catering, but we ended up getting quite a refund thanks to the negotiating skills of Samantha. So she really is on your side and wants to make sure you, the client, is happy in the end. -

Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center
Stoney Creek was the venue we used foe my daughter’s wedding ceremony and reception this past weekend. I can’t say enough about the great service from all of the staff and the value of the venue. Perfectly Coordinated Day
Josh and I are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Samantha Cohen at Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center for our big day! Samantha and her team were extremely professional and provided quality customer service. They went above and beyond the call of duty. Samantha dealt with lots of questions from us, both via email and phone and was always fast to respond. We started planning our wedding a year ahead of time and from the beginning to the end Samantha was never hard to get ahold of. Samantha helped us layout out the room, provided her advice and detail when we were not sure what was typical for a wedding and in turn our day was beautiful and we received many complaints on how classy everything looked. We live in Saint Louis and had our wedding ceremony in Mexico MO and then returned to Stoney creek for the reception. Planning a wedding from afar made us nervous but after our first meeting with Samantha, we were put at ease and continued to be.
The day of the wedding Samantha’s bar staff was BEYOND helpful. Most of our guests were best friends with Bobbi by the end, she was fast, professional, and fun!. Dylan was our other bartender and hand-delivered Josh and I drinks when they had to run over for more tonic from the other bar. Tyrel also helped make our night run very smooth with floating around the room all night checking in on everything!

Everything was Perfect

My husband and I held our wedding reception at Stoney Creek. The entire staff was incredibly helpful from our amazing coordinator Bailey to the front desk staff. We felt at home. Our wedding day was spectacular thanks to Stoney Creek Inn. I would highly recommend them! The rooms were wonderful! :) -

Stoney Creek Inn was absolutely WONDERFUL for our wedding reception venue. Bailey, our coordinator, was quick to respond and kept notes on all the details we discussed over our 10 month engagement! Bailey was wonderful to work with. She was always pleasant and helpful and helped us a lot with my daughter's wedding reception. She worked the night of the reception and personally took care of a lot of details. We would recommend her highly! -

We had a wonderful experience with Stoney Creek Inn and would recommend their venue to anyone. Their staff is top notch- the most accommodating folks you could possibly come across! The gal behind the front desk even gave me her personal contact case out of her purse the morning after our wedding so I wouldn't have to take my contacts home in cups of water. Such a great place!
The only thing I would change about our experience from start to finish would have to do with the cake. They ended up throwing away most of our groom's cake because it was all cut and not consumed, which is their policy (anything cut gets tossed). I would be sure to ask them to keep any left over cake (even if it's cut pieces) if you want to eat on it later. -

We did the Rehearsal Dinner at Stoney Creek on Friday night and the Reception on Saturday. Our event was flawless. They were so easy to work with and ready to help us with everything. Bailey was wonderful She was knowledgeable and helpful with every detail. I would definitely recommend them!!!!! -

We absolutely loved working with Bailey at Stoney Creek. Very professional and our event turned out better than we could have imagined. We used Stoney Creek Inn for our wedding block. A handful of our guests stayed at this hotel, and everyone was very impressed. The hotel staff, including Emily at the front desk, and Whitney and Bailey in the event planning office, were all amazing! The hotel staff are extremely competent and delightful. After a stressful week of planning, stepping into the hotel eased my nerves, and made me excited about the big weekend ahead.
I cannot speak highly enough of the Stoney Creek Inn! -

This vendor hosted the rehearsal dinner for my son's wedding. I personally spoke to Bailey from Stoney Creek Inn. She was a most helpful person who handled my every wish. I was planning this event from several driving hours away and was so PLEASED with the service. All the way around, it was a wonderful experience. Anyone would be "more than pleased". Stoney Creek Inn could not have done anything better! We decided on the food we wanted and Bailey took care of it all. If we had any questions, a random visit, phone call, or email was welcomed, making it easy on us! They allowed us to store decorations for several days leading up to the event, and then set the vast majority up for us (besides the things that we needed to finish ourselves). It was an easy and painless process thanks to the staff! -

Stoney Creek staff were incredibly professional, helpful, open-minded and just plain nice! My husband and I enjoyed working with them. Whenever I would send an email to my consultant I would get one back with in the day. They answered all of my questions and were willing to do what it took to make our day beautiful. I knew I would no have to worry about the reception look or the food or all of our vendors getting there on time because I was sure that Stoney Creek would handle it. And they did! From our first stop by to see what they place was about to the last night we stayed in the honeymoon suite Stoney Creek has been nothing but a joy.
A lot of my friend have gotten married lately and I was nervous about planning our wedding because of the horror stories from my friends. I have no horror stories and I think that is largely due to Stoney Creek! Why my friends had to call a million places and coordinate everything, I just left it up to Stoney Creek.
We planned our wedding long distance -- my fiance and I were living in two different places too, neither of which was Columbia--and I had an easier time planning than many of my friends who live in the same town where they got married.
Stoney Creek is the best and I would recommend it to anyone! The staff is great, it is a great value, and because of their organization and responsiveness you don't have to worry about a thing! -

We had a block of rooms for guest here and we used one of the suites for the bridal party to get ready the day of the wedding. The room was spacious and the photographer was able to get some great pictures as the bride and her attendants prepared for the ceremony. Everyone was extremely helpful and gracious. -

The staff at Stoney Creek went above and beyond. Every person that my family, friends, or I were in contact with was very friendly and helpful. All I have heard is good things about the rooms, food, service, and all around quality of this facility. I appreciate all the help that Whitney and the rest of staff provided us to make my reception an exceptional event. I would recommend them to any bride looking for a place to have their reception. We didn't have the ceremony or actual wedding reception at Stoney Creek but did host the Going Away breakfast at your facility the morning after the wedding. We, the family of the groom, and many of our guests stayed the entire weekend at Stoney Creek and thoroughly enjoyed all of the hospitality as well as the amentities that your hotel had to offer. Aside from a few minor concerns, I believe that everyone had a wonderful time. I couldn't say enough about how much we all enjoyed ourselves. The entire wedding was perfect and your facility AND your staff helped make it so. Thank you! -

The Stoney Creek Inn was centrally located for all of our out of town guests! The staff and especially, Brooke Berkey, were very accomodating from my first conversation about reserving a block of rooms to the details of the wedding weekend. The room decor is fun, our hospitality room was the perfect place for our guests to sit and visit, and the complimentary breakfast helped to start each day. -

It was the best decision my husband & I made regarding our wedding day. It took so much stress of the bride and turned out so beautiful. Best part we did not have to worry about setting everything up and take anything down. Also have to say Brooke Johnson our hospitality sales professional was wonderful. She was great to work with. Brooke was wonderful to work with she has such a positive enthusiastic attitude. She helped me with colors arrangements and went over things I hadn't thought of. The reception was effortless for us. She also assisted in getting us set up at Hoss's. She was very attentive and called us to follow up was alkways available when we needed her great communication skills....we will definitly refer to her. She kept her eye out for rooms as they were booked up at the beggining when family needed hotel room and was able to find us 2 rooms.

We were so happy with our wedding reception at Stoney Creek Inn. Everything was so beautiful and the staff were incredible. They stayed on top of everything so we didn't have to worry about anything the whole night, it all ran so smoothly. Brooke was absolutely wonderful to work with. We gave her a general idea of what we were able to spend on food and how we wanted the reception to be and she made suggestions to help us stay within our budget yet still have the experience we wanted. She was very helpful and always had a very happy and positive attitude. She was also very prompt with returning our phone calls/e-mails about questions or changes we had for the party. We appreciated all the options we had with Stoney Creek to tailor our reception to be perfect for us. All the staff were very nice and treated us and our guests very well. The cost of the facility was a little more than other places, but the quality of service and the beauty/coziness of Stoney Creek was worth it. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful it was. We appreciate everything Stoney Creek did to make our reception a wonderful night that we will always remember. -

This worked out perfect for us! If you don't have a lot of family that can help with setting up and cleaning up then you will find this service excellent! We didn't have to worry about anything that day, just show up and get married! It was great and I would recommend to anyone! -

Brooke was the perfect person for the job. She was very professional and compassionate. Brooke made our adventure a wonderful experience.
Stoney Creek offered a warm and inviting setting. All of our guests were very impressed with the decor and "feel" of the venue. All of the staff members were helpful and friendly.
I would highly recommend this venue for any event, especially wedding receptions. -

The stoney creek inn in Columbia quickly and efficiantly planned and set up my wedding in less than five hours. The food the decorations and the outdoor cerimony was all very good and beautiful. I would recomend Stoney creek inn in columbia to any bride. -

Stoney Creek and Brooke along with the other consultants were wonderful in helping guide me along through the process of pulling off the perfect wedding reception for our daughter and her fiance. Since the groom was from South Carolina, there were may out of town guests - perfect to stay in the hotel there. Both the rehearsal dinner as well as the reception were held at Stoney Creek making it easy for everyone involved. Brooke was able to house and store the gift baskets, favors, and any other items we needed for both events. She was helpful in locating vendors for the chair covers and Stoney Creek provided many necessary items needed such as linens (various colors) as well as table service etc. One of the most helpful things that Stoney Creek provided was a Bridal Fair where various vendors were present to showchase their specialties. The cake lady and caterer were specifically selected from this fair. To determine the menu, Stoney Creek provided a tasting of entree choices for us to sample. This was most helpful - the food was perfect and beautifully displayed. The ice sculpture was displayed in a way to showcase the unique carving. The rooms for the reception was arranged so that there was lots of space and the dance floor was centered in the middle of the room - perfect for the crowd. The buffet and bar held ouside of the room was a great way to keep things from being crowded. Best of all everyone enjoyed a wonderful time. Stoney Creek was the perfect place for our daughter's wedding events. Can't say enough good things about our experience! -

My husband and I recently got married and had our reception at Stoney Creek. I was very impressed with Bailey and her help with everything. I feel that one of the greatest things is that when you reception is done, they clean up the entire place for you and place all of your stuff in a locked room for you the next morning. Overall our experience was very good! We had our food catered from Bleu and got tons of compliments from people. I was informed multiple times that normally you don't want seconds at a wedding and with Bleu you did! -

We worked with Bailey and she seemed to ease all our worries and fill in all the gaps that we missed trying to do a lot of the planning ourselves. Bailey was very professional, pleasant and helpful in all she did for us. The rooms that we blocked off were all very clean and more than we expected in comfort and decor. Our guest that stayed all evening were very well pleased. The reception food was surprisingly excellent and waiter services great. The whole evening had a relaxed, exciting and fun ambiance which was exactly what we were going for with our guest to enjoy every aspect of the evening. With the help of Stoney Creek staff... the whole evening went smoother then we ever expected. Thank you Ms Bailey and staff for a beautiful experience! -

loved everything but the set up [that we chose] it was too spread out to be effective for the night, would have been better to squeeze everyone in together and make them talk to each other...they did suggest this, so it would our poor choice rather than theirs, just figured it might help someone else make a better decision in the future if I throw that out there. Otherwise they are AMAZING!!!

We were very happy with the service provided. Jennie was very good about responding promptly, courteously, and professionally to my many inquiries. The reception set-up was great and looked as we wanted it to. The only thing we could not do was put up additional twinkle lights suspended from the light fixtures to the corners of the room. The bartenders were nice and the service was good. They were able to accomodate the number of people attending without a wait. -

Working with Stoney Creek, especially Sam Cohen, was a DREAM! Sam was very attentive to our wants/needs, had answers to all of our questions (if she didn't, she knew who to reach out to and get back with us in a timely manner), gave advice when we weren't sure on how to execute something, and was on top of all communication. There was never a bad interaction with Sam. She is a true professional! I can't say enough good things about her! We picked Stoney Creek for our ceremony and reception venue for a few reasons but one of the main reasons was because EVERYTHING was in one place. That was very important as 95% of our family and friends were from out of state and not familiar with Columbia, MO. Literally the ONLY hiccup we ran into during our entire experience with Sam and Stoney Creek was a pipe and drape issue rehearsal evening. However, Sam and Matt Slavit (Conference Center Manager) were attentive to what we expected and made sure we had the proper scenery for our ceremony. Sam even made sure to find my husband and I during our wedding reception to touch base before her shift was over for the evening. If I had to do this all over again I would definitely choose Stoney Creek. Everything and everyone was FABULOUS! -

I greatly enjoyed staying at Stoney Creek Inn for our wedding night, and so did all of our guests. Only thing I did not like was that we brought over 30 nights of combined reservations and only received a $30 discount on our suite. I was rather disappointed that it was not more. -

The Staff at Stoney Creek was awsome! Everyone did everything they could to make sure we had anything we needed. If something changed, they made sure it was covered somewhere else. They were extremely polite and helpful. -

We had a block of rooms here for us and our out of town guests. We also reserved a room the next morning to open gifts in. Both were easy to book.
I thought for a nicer hotel in Columbia, the price was great with the discount we received. The lady who is in charge of booking/events was super nice and helpful. She was always on top of things. Anytime I emailed her, she would respond or call me within an hour or two. -

I really enjoyed working with Brooke at Stoney Creek. She was thoughtful and helpful and provided the perfect amount of feedback and advice. I felt comfortable the night of the wedding knowing that everything was taken care of.
My biggest concern was the cost of the alcohol as well as the waste of leftover food. I would have preferred to have been able to bring more cost effective drinks into the venue and save the left over food for personal use or donation. Both of those concerns were brought up and I understand the reasoning provided by Stoney Creek.
Those were my only two concerns with the venue, everything else was perfect! Thank you for being part of our special day! -

From the planning and suggestions for vendors to adding flowers to our table decorations the day of the wedding she was very helpful, very busy, and did an excellent job. She helped us save $$ where we could and everything was so beautiful! Everybody told us how much fun it was and how good the food was. The only thing at all I could have liked was if they had water poured on the tables at dinner. They had stations but the guests had to find them and get them themselves if they wanted. She assembled our candy bar just where we wanted it, moved the gift table inside where we wanted it, as well as the photobooth. She was there until about 10:00am to meet vendors setting up cake, DJ, video, etc. until after 10pm helping us with every little detail and making sure everything was OK. We would liked to have had a better way to account for numbers of drinks. Seemed like quite a coincidence that it came out to exactly 300 drinks. We did have the bar open from 5:30pm until midnight for 250 people! Also used 2 or 3 kegs of beer. All in all we were very happy with all their service. Loved the room to open gifts next day!

I was a little disappointed the wedding coordinator who arranged everything was not able to be there day of the wedding. There were a few things that didn't look how we had planned but nothing major. The conference center was beautiful and Bailey was amazing to work with during the planning process. I would totally recommend this location to another bride. -

The Inn was used for guest rooms only. Several of my guests did not book rooms that they said they were going to, for which I am sorry. Those that did stay loved the rooms, felt they were clean. But all agreed that the breakfast was substandard. The equipment was not working, the food choices were poor quality (i.e. mushy/soggy muffins) and although they loved the rooms, for my crowd, the morning meal service is sometimes a deal breaker. Bailey and the other ladies we worked with in the sales department were absolutely fabulous! They helped us more than we could ever have hoped and always quickly. The front desk staff, on the other hand, was generally rude and not willing to help with anything we were asking. They acted as if we were a waste of their time, even though we were taking up around 20 rooms in the hotel. -

Stoney Creek Inn provided a block of rooms for our wedding. While everything before the actual stay went well - we hit some snags when we arrived and did not receive the best customer service at all times. It was apparent that one hand did not know what the other was doing when we arrived back at the hotel after our wedding reception.
Positive:
Quick response to front desk requests/emails before the wedding confirming and updating reservations
Great facilities
Went out of the way to help me on the day of my wedding - I requested that they print out directions to be handed out to all of the guests so that they could get to the ceremony and reception. They took the time and were very, very accomodating.
Negative:
We were told we would have access to the bar/conference room area to congregate after the reception ended and we came back to the hotel. When we arrived we were treated very rudely by the staff and told that this was absolutely impossible. We instead had to sit outside in the smoking area in the 90 degree heat with the lovely mosquitos. Had we known this (and had not been informed by the front desk to the contrary) we would have planned the after-party at another location. This was extremely disappointing.
One of our guests - a member of the wedding party at that - spoke to the hotel twice to reserve and confirm his room - which the clerk then entered under the wrong date. Therefore, he had no room and was told there was nothing that could be done for him as the hotel was sold out. As he reserved under the wedding block I find it inexplicable that his reservation was entered under the wrong date and then confirmed incorrectly.
Though assured that the wedding block rooms would show detailed notes to prompt the hotel staff to pass out our gift bags - they did not do so properly. Only a handful of our guests received their gift bags without going to the front desk to request them on their own.Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center Columbia's reply:

We planned 4 months in advance for a
Wedding, booking two rooms. 1 for the bride and bridesmaids and the other for the groom and groomsmen. We were approved by Bailey in reservations to have 8-10 people in our room. With that being established we ordered 2 roll away beds per each room. As we arrived only one room had a Roll away. There were no extra pillows or blankets to be found at the front desk after we requested it throughout the day. The night before the wedding we had a bridesmaid sleep on the ground and another sleep in a wooden chair. Same pretty much goes for the groomsmen. The front desk told us that weeks before they hosted wrestling teams who ended up breaking and stealing their roll away beds. Honestly, we didn't appreciate you telling us about your problems, you should have said: yes sir we apologize and will go and purchase two new rollaways.. Or something along those lines. We love this hotel but were very displeased with the quality of service and professionalism they gave us regarding this matter on our wedding weekend. The next morning the front desk told us that someone overbooked the entire hotel for that weekend. Very poor planning. We paid a lot of money for 2 rooms and 2 nights to receive that kind of service and want to request at least one night of payment refunded due to these "mishaps". Not the kind of stress we wanted on that weekend.
The catering and rehearsal dinner however were wonderful.

Wedding and Reception
The wedding ever coordinator “Megan” was very unprofessional and the only one who ever caused the year of planning to be extremely stressful! In addition, the carpet was stained really bad the day of the reception right in front of the dance floor, the dance floor even had black gook on it, some of the linens were all wrinkled and we only got about half of the food we ordered and paid for!! Do Not have your wedding or reception here!!!-
