Beautiful venue with great people

Ashley and the team at Stone Mountain Lodge were fantastic to work with for our wedding. We had an October wedding and the venue was beautiful in the fall colors. And we loved being able to have some of the guests stay at the venue (we also provided a shuttle back to Boulder for the remainder of our guests).

The communication was fantastic so we knew exactly what to expect and how to prepare for the wedding. Would highly recommend going to check out the Stone Mountain Lodge and working with Ashley for your wedding or event.

Outdoor haven

Ashley was very professional and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. She really helped put our mind at ease. Everything went so smoothly. The day of was beautiful and everything was set up per our discussions. It was easy to accommodate our 80 guests. This was also one of the most cost effective places we found. I highly recommend. Thank you Stone Mountain Lodge for making our day everything we wanted.

This venue is a dream come true! Our expectations were exceeded and we could not be more happy with our choice of venue and the staff at Stone Mountain Lodge. This venue features stunning views and convenient onsite accommodations for guests.

The staff at Stone Mountain Lodge was always accommodating and helpful to us throughout the process and also to our guests during their stay at the cabins. Plus they were able to recommend great vendors which facilitated the process and relieved a lot of stress. The location of the ceremony was in walking distance from the reception area. Nestled cozily in the mountainside, this venue offers the perfect touch of nature and was just what we dreamed of for our special day. The scenery is gorgeous and pictures do not do it justice!

I can not say enough amazing things about this place! They are very attentive yet spacious, fun yet professional, and extremely helpful. Every time I would come to the venue, I was greeted very warmly, Ashley was very attentive to all my questions, no question was a silly question. She gave great suggestions, has an incredible wealth of knowledge on weddings. They really know what they are doing, I felt very calm being in such capable hands. The venue itself is well groomed, they've made a lot of updates and improvements in a short amount of time. I am very thankful for everything they did and just for who they are as people! Very supportive and friendly staff.

We picked Stone Mountain Lodge for our daughter's wedding. We were looking for something laid back but elegant. The venue is beautiful and Ashley is the best. She is so easy to work with and everything was perfect! If you are looking for a lovely outdoor wedding, this is the place to have it.

We fell in love with Stone Mountain on our first visit a year ago. The romantic old-school cabins are warm and charming, and the surrounding nature is peaceful and beautiful. Christina and all of the staff are amazing. So accommodating and friendly. They printed us out a few area hikes and helped us with all of our questions of where to find things in town.
We had our wedding here this month and couldn't have had a happier more incredible weekend!! Our family stayed onsite and grilled, went swimming, mountain biking and hiking and had the best time! Christina and Erica were available for my unusual rehearsal time, and very patient with things going crazy and off schedule lol, and they helped my big day to run smoothly! They were there in the background to see if I needed anything and help keep me calm and communicate with everyone outside my bridal cabin. Everything was an absolute Dream!!! We can't wait to return for years to come!!!! The entire family had a great vacation!! :)

SM was a beautiful setting to have our wedding this past July. Yes, it’s a little out of the way and yes, if you look at reviews from a year ago, some of their facilities used to be damaged by the devastating Lyons flood BUT none of that was present or an issue for us. I’m pretty sure all the damage has been repaired by now and the grounds are a picturesque setting for a ceremony and reception.

The cabins are cute! The bathtub in one of the cabins had some issues with not immediately draining, which presented me with an interesting situation while I was dying my hair black (didn’t want to stain my toes or feet) but overall it was a minor thing. I wasn’t in the lodge rooms myself but some of my friends were and when I poked my head it, it seems cozy.

Convenient again was the ability to rent linens directly from them. We didn’t have to set them up or take them down and they looked great! If you wanted, you could rent an Oskar Blues bus, again making sure all your guests are safe and happy. We had the venue for the entire day (big plus) from 11am to technically 11pm (but essentially they let us party until midnight). We could rent sound systems, lighting systems, extra tents, and more. It was a one-stop shop and that was awesome.

The only things I’d say that anyone really needs to be aware of is that cell phones don’t work up there. Wireless internet is available but slightly slow.

There’s a ton of ways to make this place a budget friendly venue or an everything-you-ever-wanted-that-money-can-buy venue. We found it to be a great value for our money. Highly recommend.

Our experience with Stone Mountain Lodge was magical from beginning to in. The customer service is what is most remarkable -- everyone there is genuinely warm, helpful and friendly. Not only do they provide what is expected via the event contract, they go above and beyond with little things throughout your event. The staff is easy going and accommodating as well. The rooms can be small, but are well kept. The cabins are lovely and perfect for the wedding party and family. The site includes an outdoor ceremony area, reception tent and garden area -- all the space you could need. We did a pot luck for our wedding and having cabins with kitchens near by was essential. Also, we did a lot of research on venues and Stone Mountain is quite affordable comparatively. Get married on a Monday -- even cheaper! LGBT friendly too! Thanks especially to Christina and Erica!

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony at Stone Mountain Lodge. It was so beautiful there and we will always remember it so well.
We had a Renaissance theme for our ceremony and the place was so beautiful and magical. The people who helped us were very friendly and accommodating. I felt very taken care of there and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the future.

I was completely satisfied with every aspect of our wedding at Stone Mountain Lodge. The staff made sure everything was set up in a timely manner, as well as being a help with anything else we needed. Our wedding coordinator Erika was so helpful with any questions I had throughout the planning process as well as being there for me on the big day. I am so very thankful she was part of my team. I absolutely love the abundance of beautiful flowers and plants, with the rock face in the distance creating such beautiful scenery. The biggest bonus of this venue is the lodging on site. It made it possible for all my closest friends and family to have a good time and not have to worry about driving an hour back home after the reception.

We absolutely loved our wedding at Stone Mountain Lodge! It was the perfect place for our outdoor wedding and most of all the staff there is wonderful! Leah, our event coordinator, was a life saver and was willing to go to extremes to make sure our day was everything we wanted it to be. The property was just perfect for our day and the staff did a wonderful job getting everything set up for us. It was a beautiful place for our wedding day and the wonderful people there made it even better. Booking all the lodge rooms and cabins for the night of our wedding was the best decision we made and it made everything so much easier on everyone. I would recommend this venue to anyone and can't wait to go back for a visit!

My husband and I had a beautiful, small ceremony at Stone Mountain Lodge. We could not have been more thrilled with our wedding. The staff really went out of their way to make sure our small number of guests were accommodated. Because we had a small package in the beginning of December, the tent was not up for weather related reasons but the day was beautiful as were the grounds. We had a small reception in the Garden Area that was ideal! The pond is a little low after the floods but, nice with the ducks regardless. Thank you, Stone Mountain Lodge staff, for helping us have the perfect day! Thank you for your constant contact prior to our ceremony and all of the helpful hints and tips. I will recommend you to anyone needing a beautiful wedding space!!!

Stone Mountain Lodge was an amazing venue for our wedding! My husband and I wanted the perfect outdoor wedding to really display the Colorado splendor. This was majestic! With a beautiful arch cascading with flowers and the Rocky Mountains in the background it was the most romantic setting! We will forever be grateful for all their help and for making our day the most special and memorable ever!

The venue at Stone Mountain Lodge was exceptional! We were thrilled at how beautiful the location was. Almost all of our guests were visiting from out of town and it worked out perfectly to have everyone stay there the wedding night with the exclusivity package. The staff, especially Gabbi, did a great job taking care of our needs and making our wedding day flow smoothly. Thank you for such a wonderful weekend!

We LOVED our wedding at Stone Mountian Lodge!!! After many visits and tours of other facilities, Stone Mountain was the best overall value and the setting was what we wanted. You get the entire grounds for the whole day and your guests can stay on site. The ceremony site also makes a great area for whiffel ball or other yard games. I would recomend getting ready (at least the bride) in one of the cabins though since there is no restroom in the bridal tent. Although the bridal tent was the perfect place to stage out of right before the ceremony. There is no cell service on site though, but I LOVED that!!!!! The staff was great, everything went smooth, and it was just a wonderful experience!

We had an amazing time at Stone Mountain last weekend for our wedding. We rented out all of the cabins for our family who all live out of town and it was the prefect place for them to relax and get to know each other over the weekend. I had an outdoor yoga class in the garden area the morning of the wedding. The ceremony and reception were a blast. The staff at Stone Mountain were very helpful and professional and accommodated our needs. All of our guests had such a great time! The only hang up (which is out of their control) is cell phone reception. However, there are landlines in each of the rooms!! Thank you for making our wedding weekend one to remember!

I fell in the love with Stone Mountain Lodge after my first visit and after my wedding I love it more. The venue was perfect for the style of wedding my husband and I wanted and for our personalities. I loved the fact that I could have it all day and not have to be rushed to get in and get out. The staff was friendly and flexible. Gabbi did a great job with making sure everything was just the way I wanted it. I have heard some of my guests say it was the best wedding they have been to and have heard only positive comments from friends and families. I highly recommend Stone Mountain Lodge!!!!

I couldn't have been more thrilled with Stone Mountain Lodge. I just read some past comments and I'd like to reassure others that this venue is amazing!! I was scheduled to get married 2 years ago. However, a family circumstance left us postponing our wedding. When I booked the venue, it was under the old management. It was great but has significantly improved. Gabbi Polen, the events coordinator, is phenomenal and works hard to make everyone feel accommodated and happy. I would get married here again without hesitations. I also would recommend this venue to close friends knowing my experience was top notch!!

My husband and I had a fabulous experience with the staff at Stone Mountain Lodge when we had our wedding there a couple of weeks ago. The staff were very cordial and responsive to the needs of all the different personalities that attended our wedding. The list of vendors that we used from there recommendations were wonderful and we could not have asked for better. There were no hidden costs and they really allowed us to have to have the wedding we truly wanted. I would highly recommend others to book with stone mountain for events, the price is reasonable and the people are great!! They even let us have our dogs in the wedding!!! =) Thanks to everyone at Stone Mountain Lodge, especially Gabbi!!

My now husband and I had just moved to colorado from illinois and we had moved our wedding around so much we just wanted to get married and start our new life together.
Needless to day after moving more than 1000 miles and starting a new job, we were on a serious wedding budget. I found Stone Mountain Lodge on the internet and looked at the website. I was blown away by the services provided for the cost! I showed my partner and he was sold too, it was what we wanted and affordable. I called Holly the next day and it was so easy to reserve the date. Holly was helpful and patient.
We received a few phone calls prior to the big day checking on us, giving us the status of the site and even though it was still winter, they turned the fountain on for us!
Holly was so awesome trying to keep me calm and let us use whatever we needed that we forgot! Everone stayed in a cabin after the wedding, the cabins were affordable, clean and super fun. Even if we had lots of money and time to plan our wedding, we would still have it at Stone Mountain Lodge! We are now expecting and cant wait to go back to celebrate our new addition and every anniversary!!

This was a beautiful venue, and grounds were beautifully groomed. Bridal tent was a welcome place to get ready for the Bride and women to stay cool and get fussed over. The staff could not have been better, they were available and ready to help our every need. We had some cell phone signal issues, but the office staff, was always helpful with use of the land line. Mosquitoes were out in force, was an evening ceremony.

Stone Mountain was absolutely perfect for our wedding

The venue is gorgeous and exactly what we pictured for an outdoor ceremony and tented reception. Our guest raved about how beautiful the venue was and also really enjoyed staying on site at the cabins/motel. Ashley was extremely helpful for both the rehearsal and before/during the ceremony. If you are looking for a low key, beautiful outdoor venue in the foothills, I highly recommend Stone Mountain!

Our wedding was on 9/9/17, and everything was as planned. Ashley and team were so professional, caring, friendly and downright easy to work with! We had the privilege of attending a wedding there after we booked them for ours, and we knew as we watched them in action that our wedding would be just as great. The venue did not disappoint! It is absolutely beautiful, and the rooms are being redone. All of our guests loved it. We highly recommend that you book the entire place so everyone can stay - it was seamless and really a blast!

Having our wedding at Stone Mountain was just so special! The location itself is not too remote so that it was easily accessible from our hotel in Boulder and family members throughout the state, but it was also secluded enough that we were surrounded by beautiful Colorado nature! The staff was incredibly friendly and flexible and responded quickly to my many questions, as we were planning our wedding from out of state. At first we seemed to be passed from point person to point person (who were all very lovely) but once that was settled, the person who ended up being ours, Shawna, was just phenomenal and helped us with everything down to the set up the morning of the wedding. We also had our friends and younger family member guests stay on site in the rooms and cabins which was such a cool addition to the event as people were able to continue spending time together right on site after the wedding had ended and there was a strong communal vibe to the entire event! This venue was just perfect for us!

The staff was great! They were a ton of help and everything looked beautifully! It was really hot though and it didnt seem like they really had an answer on how to help that. But other than that everything was fantastic! The grounds looked beautiful and everyone was very polite and helpful! The price was to die for! It was the absolute cheapest price that I found for what I wanted out of a mountain wedding! My prerequisties were outdoor ceremony, close reception, some sort of water like a river; lake; pond; etc., and fair price. I got all of this from Stone Mountain Lodge!

DIY Friendly

We loved working with Ashley at Stone Mountain Lodge. This was a beautiful location and offered mostly DIY. This allowed us to hire our favorite vendors and restaurants from Denver while also getting amazing views in the mountains. Since it is out of the downtown area you can have fun bands at Stone Mountain Lodge and they offer on venue lodging which is great for a small group of guests (70is ppl) Our wedding turned out beautiful and the photos are mountain friendly without being extremely out of budget. It is a great distance from Denver and allowed us to enjoy the Denver fun while also showing our family a small mountain town like Lyons.

We loved working with Carrie at Stone Mountain. She was so bubbly and truly cared about your wedding. The location is gorgeous. Many people told us that it was the prettiest wedding they had ever been to. They were helpful with any questions that we had, although sometimes it took them a while to get back to you, but I am sure they were dealing with it being the height of wedding season. I would get married again there in a heart beat. You can't beat the natural arbor, the location, and the upgrades they have made on the tent.

Please don't look at the 'overall' rating for Stone Mountain Lodge and be discouraged. I can assure you that since their management change things have gotten much much better. As the other couples who have had recent weddings have said, this place is second to none in venues for your outdoor wedding needs. It is a picturesque location with all the amenities of a large expensive venue, with the simplicity of a 'mom and pop' kind of place. We LOVED the fact that their isn't cell phone service on property as people were really into the wedding rather than giving their thumbs a workout all afternoon. Our guests loved the location, kids had a blast, and it was nice to breath in the clean mountain air on our special day. Gabi and her staff were very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy.

I absolutely fell in love with how beautiful this place is. I love the set up! They have a unique, adorable garden area which we used as a cocktail hour spot as well as a ceremony site and a reception tent. I thought it was a great value for what you paid for. The only downside was they were a little hard to work with. I got switched off to 3 different people while trying to plan a 150 person wedding. On the day of the wedding, quite a few tables were in the wrong spot when I had drawn out a well detailed map and we went through it at a walk through along with a few other details, but not bad over all. They were extremely helpful with directing our guests ahead of the traffic due to the flood construction which was super helpful. Overall, very minor things and we had the best wedding possible!

Great outdoor venue and gross hotel rooms

The wedding venue and wedding related aspects are quite good and high value for a gorgeous DIY venue.
Venue changed ownership half way through the year of our planning and no one told us, which made for a couple months of frustration. The new owners as of Feb 2016 seem good. They are clearly new-ish at the business and stressed, but good folks really trying to run a quality operation.
The accommodations ranged between ok and really gross. I was embarrassed at the smell & dingy rooms that our families ended up in. A few are better, but make sure you have toilet paper and sheets for pull outs. Having rented all of the rooms made the venue really ideal in terms of our freedom of use But the rooms were not good. Not sure what we'd do if given the chance to do over- walking to rooms made for a really fun party, but several folks mentioned how bad the rooms were after. Be aware- this is a consideration both ways.
Overall- the wedding venue was great. We had a beautiful wedding (after a massive year of work and planning) at a fraction of what it would have cost at an all inclusive venue

The setting was perfect for what we were looking for and the price was pretty good compared to a lot of other places we looked at. The lodge is kinda out of date but is maintained fairly well. The landscaping, tent, pond, and ducks really do make this venue unique. There did seem to be some lack in communication a few times which did add some stress to the planning process. I would highly recommend booking the rooms way in advance if you wish to have your whole family stay there.

First off I want to say that Stone Mountain has beautiful grounds and my ceremony and reception was very pretty! However it was very stressful,I scheduled my rehearsal in advance with my "wedding coordinator," and no one was to be found that day.They also neglected to mention the road was closed and had MASSIVE construction occuring right outside my venue causing a detour. Both public bathrooms had overflown toilets which thankfully I noticed before my guest started showing up. The cabin (22) was filthy, there was black skuffs, dirt all over the bathroom floor, and hairs all over. We had lots of spiderwebs and bugs all over the room, a simple vacuum would have made a world of difference. Several of my guest complained of the same and sewer smells in the room. One guest refused to even stay even though they paid.They kept my deposit for lights that were left on a tree that i was asked to leave and the bathroom being dirty. I tried everyday emailing and calling to speak with the manager about my deposit. Finally she called and blammed her choatic life on the reason of no returned response. She agreed completely to return my entire deposit, for the keeping of it was a misunderstanding. She complained about her staff and said the reason for them not being at my rehearsal was lack of her making them take responsibility for their poor work ethics. She repeated put her staff down saying that they need to start being written up because things like this keep happening and they need to learn. She is the one who is suppose to guide and manage them! Also, my event coordinator was no where to be seen on my wedding day, Carrie blamed this on my "maid of honor," saying they back off because they never know how the maid of honor will handle someone else giving direction. I wanted them clearly to help us! Sadly we will not spend our anniverseries there...I really truly hope they become more professional and clean things up around there to make it shine like it deserves!

My daughter was married here recently. While it is a lovely venue, the service we received on the wedding day was not. We were to have the services of a coordinator for the day. We only saw Erica when she came to lead us to the ceremony. At the ceremony, the sound system was not working so no one heard any of the ceremony. This venue is located near a highway and this is their business. It is hard to understand how they would not have a working sound system. When I confronted Erica about this the next morning, she was not sympathetic. She did offer to get us some money back for the inconvenience but so far that has not happened. I don't care about the money, I just don't want another bride to have this issue. There were other things Erica promised us she would do but these did not happen also. My daughter and I were very disappointed. If not for the ladies of the catering company (Smoke Shack BBQ), we would have felt totally abandoned.

This is a beautiful facility, it's in a great place and the people in the office are very nice. I would have a wedding here again, but I would make darn sure that I had assurances in writing about the maintenince of the facility and EXPECIALLY there would be no showings during the time I rented the facility.

Holly advised us to rent the whole place the night before the wedding, to make sure we would have the place all to ourselves and so that we could be sure to have the rehersal and dinner there. She said no one else will be here if you rent the whole property for two days.She then had 3 diffrent groups touring the facility while our events were under way. People were walking around waiting to meet her during the rehersal and dinner. They were in the tent with our stuff on the day of the wedding. It absolutly drove me nuts trying to figure out who belonged and who didn't. The tent wasn't very clean,because of all the people trooping through there. When asked Holly replied, that she didn't rent any of the cabins to others, (we had all of them) but she didn't say anything about showing people around. Then Holly got the config for the tables wrong and then she threw it back on me, when she could of just said lets add two more tables.
She always had an answer, but it was pretty much spliting hairs and it wasn't what was implied. So, when we got our deposit back it wasn't even close to what she had said earlier and she wouldn't e-mail me an invoice. I called the lodge and received a message stating that I would get an invoice with the refund check for the deposit. Still waiting! So, it's a lovely facility, we had a beautiful wedding, and the front desk people were pleasant. The single thing that would have allowed everything to flow nicely and saved a lot of aginst would have been not to have people meet at the venue to view it for future rentals while an event is going on. And, they came and they stayed, no quick in or out here.
Plus there was alot of drama about who paid for their rooms, with cards being charged for too many rooms, and not having records of people who did pay. I have tried to be completely fair about this review and have not noted other small detractions.

The location was very pretty. Communication with the staff was terrible. There were a lot of things that our contract with them stated that they changed. We were able to start setting up at 9:00 am on our wedding day, and that we would have until midnight that day to clean up. We arrived at 9:00 am to find the caterers from the previous days wedding starting their clean up, which delayed us an hour and 15 minutes. The caterers from the previous days wedding were told they could not start the clean up until 9:00 am. Our wedding was delayed at least 1 hour because of the delayed starting. And then, at 4:30, the staff at the lodge forced us out. They said we had to be out by 5:15 even though our contract stated we had until midnight. Needless to say, I was not a happy bride with them. Other problems that We had with them are: While we were having our reception in the reception tent, the staff people were showing another couple the property. The package that we paid for was to be an exclusive package where there would not be other people in the area while we were celebrating. Then, my boss whom was one of my guests, told me that when he got there, he went to park his car in the parking lot, and the Stone Mountain Lodge staff told him he could not park there, that he had to park in the street. They had told us previously that our guests could park anywhere. I am afraid of other things that may have happened that my other guests did not mention to me... PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE... DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING at this location. They are extremely rude and unprofessional. They make you feel very unwelcome and they really rush you to try to get you out of there, even though your contract will say you have until midnight. I felt so rushed, that there were things that we did not get to do that we had planned on doing for our wedding. We barely even got enough time to eat our food and dance our dances. There was not any time for others to dance because all of the songs danced were the traditional First dance, Father/Daughter Dance etc. A few other things: The "heater" in the Bridal Tent did not work and it was a chilly morning. The restrooms are on the opposite side from the Bridal Tent, so, if the Bride is getting ready, and needs to go you will have to either let your guests see you before hand, or hold it until after the wedding ceremony like I did.

my guest and family felt rushed during the reception, although the vendor was less expensive then others we felt we were over charged since we booked a year in advance and did our own food and music. we also rented two cabins for the night before. on a good note they offer a night stay on your one year anniversary.
