San Diego Wedding

Michael was the best person to work with. We knew from our initial call with him that he had a great personality and would be able to deliver on our wedding day. We went and saw Michael multiple times when he performs on Wednesday nights and he was just as genuine and charismatic in person. Michael worked with us every step of the way. Michaels live performance for our first dance was incredible and he kept our guests entertained throughout the evening! Highly highly recommend.

Our Family's Go-To DJ/Musician

Michael, along with his team at Still Listening Productions, was the DJ/performer for our wedding. We chose him because he also performed at our sister's wedding and we knew we could trust him to deliver a high-quality experience. And we were right! Michael and his team were consummate professionals. And having Michael switch between live music and DJing meant that we had a live rendition for our First Dance and for the Parent/Child dance which really enhanced the moment. We danced the night away at our wedding, thanks to Michael and his team. Still Listening Productions has become our go-to music provider for any major family event!

The absolute best!

Don't look anywhere else! Michael was truly the most incredible performer we could have asked for. We spent ages pouring over videos of live bands for our wedding, and just felt... *bleh* about all of them. Sure they were fun, but they all felt too kitschy and over-choreographed. Plus, we really just wanted live music for the first half of the wedding, whereas for actual dancing, we just wanted to bop around to all of our favorite remixes. We jokingly asked our planner if this was possible, and she surprised us by recommending Michael! And he did exactly that - it was the perfect balance of beautiful instrumentals during our ceremony and cocktail hour, gradually building up into a seamless transition into allll the fun dancing songs. He was super accommodating with some of our non-standard requests (ex. playing some spanish songs) and was an incredible emcee as well. Absolutely 11/10 - wish we could work with him again!!

Truly The Best DJ

Michael was absolutely amazing and such a pleasure to work with! He was there to help us throughout the whole planning process and was always willing to meet with us if we ever had questions. He used our music playlists as inspiration for the wedding day and totally understood our vibe. He was able to read the dance floor so well and keep it full all night long! From singling live in our cocktail reception, to being our classy MC and fun DJ, he was incredible. We got so many compliments about our cocktail and reception music. Our guests loved him and are still reaching out to us to comment on how great he was. Our wedding reception was so fun and memorable thanks to Michael. We could not recommend him enough!!!

Amazing!!!

Michael was fantastic!
He provided music for our cocktail hour, dinner and dancing.

We had a very small wedding of 50 people, most of which were not big dancers, which was a concern of mine before the big day. Michael was able to get people up and dancing. The kids were non-stop dancing all night.

He did a great singer songwriter set for the cocktail hour and dinner. Im from England and he was really considerate to put in a few songs from England without me knowing. It was really really good.

He also DJ'd for the evening dancing where he did a great job getting everyone up.
He was very very considerate, he met with us a few times before the wedding to understand exactly what we wanted to make our day extra special.

Thank you Michael for really making our day and getting people up and dancing! 🤘

Cannot recommend Lee enough!

You can’t go wrong with Still Listening Productions! Lee provided the perfect soundtrack for our November 2021 wedding at the La Jolla Woman’s Club. He seamlessly switched from our ceremony to our cocktail hour to the reception itself. I seriously cannot recommend him enough, he listened to all of our requests and was so easy to work with. He sang live during the cocktail hour, and we kept having guests coming up to us asking for his website/information because they loved him so much!

He also learned our first song (A Million Dreams), and created a version that was absolutely perfect for a first dance. I would absolutely recommend both Lee and Still Listening Productions for your event!

Great DJ, Great music!

Michael performed and DJ'd my son's wedding on 10/9/2021. His choice of music was perfect and really got our guests dancing. The best part is he performed one of his songs (Best Love) for the mother/son dance. It was beautiful, perfect, and thoughtful. I wanted the song to be very special. When I read about why Michael wrote it, I knew it was the "one"! I was extremely grateful when Michael agreed to perform it. I was so focused on the moment dancing with my son, I didn't realize everyone in the room was silent, watching and listening to us. Michael made that part of the wedding especially memorable for my son and I! I highly recommend Michael for your event!!!!

Absolutely amazing!

Still Listening productions is amazing. Michael Tiernan played live and DJ-ed our wedding and weeks later we still have guests bringing up how phenomenal of a job he did. Michael expertly read the crowd and kept the dance floor going all night long. Every song he played seamlessly transitioned into the next, not only while playing live, but also while DJ-ing which was so impressive! Michael is beyond talented on the guitar and his voice is amazing! We cannot recommend him high enough.

The music was incredible!

Still Listening, and Michael in particular, really took our wedding to the next level with great custom arrangements for the ceremony and cocktail hour and incredible DJing the rest of the way. Could not recommend enough! Everyone loved the music and Michael was great to work with.

Michael Tiernan is AMAZING!

If you hire Michael Tiernan for your wedding (or any event for that matter), prepare to be blown away! He is an incredibly talented musician, amazing DJ and one of the nicest people you will ever meet. We had quite a journey in our wedding planning process (thanks in large part to COVID) and had to pivot to a small, 30-person, outdoor ceremony and reception. Michael was so accessible throughout the planning process, he has a very easy to use online form to put in your song requests, and we were able to do a Zoom call to kick things off. We even got a little acoustic show from him during the video call as we chatted processional songs, so much fun!

For our wedding ceremony he performed beautiful, bring-tears-to-your-eyes, acoustic versions of our chosen processional music (You Make My Dreams – Hall & Oates and Can’t Help Falling in Love - Elvis). He also played incredible acoustic guitar during our cocktail hour. Pretty much every single one of our guests told us how amazing the music was either during or after our wedding. He’s a fantastic MC during the moments you need one (introducing the wedding party and toasts, etc.), and when it comes time for dancing… you won’t find a better DJ! We weren’t sure if people would be up to dance during our August wedding (again b/c COVID) but had a small outdoor dance floor and Michael’s amazing DJ skills had nearly ever guest out on the dance floor.

We could not be happier with our choice to hire Michael for our wedding and if you’re looking for a wedding musician/DJ…stop looking and hire Michael!

Absolutely recommend Still Listening Productions

Michael is THE BEST! From the very first song through the end of the reception, the dance floor was packed all night. He did a great job of changing the songs frequently enough that if you didn't like a song, it wasn't long until he mixed it into the next song. We worked with him to share our tastes and favorite songs, and he delivered on every front, including as the MC. He also played live guitar during our cocktail reception, which my husband and I didn't get to listen to, but I heard from our guests was really great. He also worked with us in advance of the wedding to cut our first dance song a bit shorter. We cannot recommend Michael and Still Listening Productions highly enough.

Amazing Artist

First, I would like to begin by saying that Michael Tiernan is an incredible artist, period. He not only has amazing original music, but he is able to make every song he plays or sings his own by his unique voice and style. He was AMAZING at our wedding last April, and we had many guest ask us about him, and comment about his amazing voice, and good looks :) He is very personable and caters to the crowed, and there was never a dull moment. He was excellent at MCing our wedding reception, and carrying us through the night until our very last song. I would definitely recommend Michael Tiernan for his warm personality, easiness to work with, and of course his beautiful talent.

We couldn't have been happier - highly recommend!!

Music is very important to me and my husband and we were having a tough time trying to decide between having live music or a DJ. When we found Still Listening we thought they were too good to be true. Micheal worked closely with us on our song lists and even played a few samples of our top song picks during one of his Wednesday performances in Del Mar. We were SO impressed with his live music, comfortable / not forced emcee work, and DJ-ing skills. All of our guests kept complimenting him, saying how great the music was and asking for referrals.
We couldn't have been happier - highly recommend!!

Make your wedding magical with Michael!

Wow what can I say. Michael Tiernan is incredible. He helped make our wedding day truly magical! We saw him first perform at En Fuego in Del Mar and were excited to have him be a part of our wedding. Initially we were not sure if our budget would allow us to have Michael but we couldn't stop thinking about him and made sure to make it fit into our budget for the big day. We could not have been happier with that decision. He did a mix of playing live and DJ. He has a large repertoire of songs so was able to play all of the songs we wanted! He was really able to read the crowd and play music to match the mood. He was personable, professional and fun! We highly recommend Michael to anyone looking to make their wedding special!

"Here Comes My..." Rave Review of SLP and Michael Tiernan

I’m not sure a glowing review will ever convey just how ecstatic we are or how completely lucky we feel to have had Michael Tiernan from Still Listening Productions as both our Musician and DJ for our wedding, but I’m sure going to try!

I first connected with Still Listening Productions and Michael Tiernan about a year before I was even engaged when I was looking for a Musician/DJ combo for my company’s annual Holiday Party. After seeing him perform for a corporate crowd filled with different ages and tastes, and hearing nothing but positive feedback, we knew that Michael would be perfect for our upcoming wedding. As soon as we booked our venue, Michael was the first vendor we contacted in order to ensure he wasn’t scooped up by anyone else!

Michael was an absolute pleasure to work with! When we had trouble finding a song that we liked for our first dance, he worked with us to create a slower, more first-dance worthy version of Tom Petty’s “Here Comes My Girl”. He sent us recordings that we could use for our dance lessons, and played it live for us at his Acoustic Wednesday’s gig at En Fuego Del Mar (do yourself a favor and grab a Margarita at En Fuego one Wednesday evening when Michael is playing, you won’t regret it!). He also sat down with us to go over any questions that we had before the wedding, and to get an idea of what we were looking for on our big day. This meeting was crucial because Michael helped give our music tastes life in the recommendations that he made for the different portions of the evening. From the acoustic ceremony and cocktail hour, to the DJ’d dance party at the end of the night, everything that Michael sang and played was perfect. Michael’s voice and guitar skills are impeccable, and his ability to read a crowd is superb. Every single person who we’ve talked to after our wedding has specifically complimented Michael’s work at our wedding without us even asking.

If you are considering a completely live, acoustic wedding, a 100% DJ’d wedding, or a combination of the two, look no further than Still Listening Productions and Michael Tiernan. No really, stop looking. I can guarantee you that you will not find anyone who sounds better, who has better customer service, who can read a crowd better, or who will make your wedding feel absolutely perfect. Still Listening Productions and Michael Tiernan are that one in a million find, don’t make the mistake of not booking them for your wedding.

We can not thank Still Listening and Michael Tiernan enough for making our wedding absolutely perfect. The music was the most important aspect of the evening for us and Michael absolutely delivered above and beyond. We had some unusual requests for our ceremony music and Michael did such an incredible job making it his own and thinking critically and thoughtfully on how it can work for this specific moment. For the reception, he DJ'd and was accompanied by Johnny Tarr on sax. It was such a unique touch and the two of them really brought the party. We received compliments from guests of all ages that the music was amazing. Michael was also a complete pleasure to work with throughout the process from beginning to end and an incredibly nice, sincere, and thoughtful guy. After getting a recommendation list from our venue, we weren’t satisfied with a lot of the businesses until we came upon Still listening productions. We absolutely loved the fact that everyone on their team was able to DJ, MC, and also play musical instruments. Every one of their team members are musically gifted!
Michael Tiernan was available for our wedding day and my wife and I couldn’t have been happier with his professionalism, courteousness, and passion for his love of music which made our experience with him so seamless and extravagant. He was able to perform live during ceremony, cocktail hour, and during our first dance. We also had a special request for one of our relatives to sing while he was playing the guitar which he happily agreed to. He truly worked very hard to ensure that the whole process for my wife and I was worry/stress free and we couldn’t have asked for more.
My wedding also include both Korean and Persian guests and this was no problem for Michael. He was able to beautifully integrate music from both of our cultures into his DJing.
Responsiveness - Excellent
From the time that we booked with him, it was easy to have questions answered via email or phone and all documents he provided were clear and concise.
Performance - Excellent
As I mentioned above, his performance throughout the wedding day/night was perfect and seamless. He showed up earlier to the venue to setup multiple areas for his performance which made transitioning between different areas of the venue very seamless. All of our guests love the fact that he was able to play live music as well as DJ.
Cost - Excellent
Compared to other companies we were looking at, we feel that the price that we were charged was very fair. Throw in the fact that he was able to play live music, DJ, and incorporate different cultural music into our wedding truly made for an unforgettable day for us.

We would highly recommend Still Listening Productions for your event. We hired Josh Bonas to perform at our wedding, and we could not have been happier with our experience! Josh is soooo talented, professional & fun! He is a wonderful musician. His acoustic performance was flawless. When it came to the DJ portion, he encouraged our guests to request songs, and that was really fun for our younger guests. I can't say enough great things about Josh and Still LIstening Productions. Still Listening Productions made our wedding magical. I would recommend stopping here and booking Michael Tiernan for your event ASAP (I know I will!). He was so helpful and thoughtful throughout the entire planning process, but delivered above and beyond during our wedding. I honestly don't have the words to describe how wonderful him and his wife are, and how his music (both live and DJ) made our wedding one to remember. Michael has a special talent for knowing the vibe of a room, and how to keep the energy right where it needs to be. He is also extremely genuine, and heartfelt. You can tell he truly pours himself into your event.. not because he is supposed to, but because that's who he is. He played live for our ceremony, cocktail hour, our first dance, and dinner. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! SLP is an awesome business with extremely talented DJs/musicians! We booked Collin Elliott for our wedding day and he was THE BEST!! Not only did he play live guitar during dinner, but he kep the entire event moving seamlessly and people were on the dance floor THE ENTIRE NIGHT! Not only was he an awesome, professional, and personable DJ (with great taste in music) but he was SO thoughtful and surprised my husband and I with a final song (live guitar playing Hey Ho) for us to dance to as we ended the night. My now husband and I love listening to live music but we also like to get the party started with the help of a DJ; however we didn’t want to pay for a live musician and a DJ. When our wedding planner recommended Still Listening Productions it was the perfect combination that we didn’t even know existed.

We had Collin Elliott from Still Listening perform acoustic songs prior to/during the ceremony and throughout cocktail hour. He then switched over to DJing the reception and doing the usual announcements/intros. He played a good mix of music that got everyone dancing and he wasn’t overbearing with his announcements (like how some DJs try to take over the show and go over the top; he said the perfect amount in just the right way).

Two of our favorite moments of the night were when he switched from DJing to play two live songs – one for our first dance (which he specifically learned at our request) and one at the end of the night for the last song. Everyone absolutely loved him and the general concept of having one person do both – we got so many compliments on his behalf! We definitely recommend Collin and Still Listening for weddings or other events, they were highly professional and extremely talented.

Couldn't be happier with choosing Still Listening! Josh did an amazing job at our wedding playing the entire ceremony and cocktail hour acoustic (with some of our favorite songs) and even learning (and slowing down) our all-time favorite song for our first dance! We were fortunate enough to work with Michael for our wedding on 10/08/16. He played acoustically for the ceremony/cocktail hour and DJ'd for the reception. He also sang the first dance, father/daughter, and mother/son dance live. He had never sung the song we had picked for our first dance and sent us a sample prior to the wedding - we were blown away, it was better than the original!

Michael was so easy to work with - by the time we connected with him a few weeks prior to the wedding, my fiance and I were ready to be done with wedding planning and had hardly picked out any songs. After getting a feel for our taste in music, he made spot on recommendations.

I have to agree with the other reviews, that he was super involved in the reception process - and made the whole evening flow perfectly.

Do not hesitate to work with Michael and Still Listening Productions for your wedding/event, I promise you will not regret it! All night people kept coming up to us telling us how great he was and when we talk to people about our wedding the one thing everyone mentions is how great the music was. Choosing Michael Tiernan for our wedding music was the best decision we made! He made the planning process easy and fun with his friendly personality and easy going demeanor (not to mention his incredible musical talents!) On our wedding day, he played a combination of live and recorded music just like we requested. His live songs for our recessional, first dance, father/mother dances, etc. were exceptional and the personal touch he added made them truly unforgettable. Also, his DJing at our reception was top notch - we loved the music he played! Michael had moms, dads, and all of our friends on the dance floor all night long. We were lucky to have Josh Bonas for our wedding and reception! We hired Lee Coulter through Still Listening Productions to play live music during our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and to DJ during our reception. Lee has such great energy, he provided exactly the kind of warm, upbeat, and soulful music we wanted at our wedding.

He’s a really cool guy and so easy to work with. He met us before the wedding to talk about the plans at a spot where he was playing that night and he even previewed of few of our requests during his set! He even learned to play a couple of songs for our ceremony (Sound of Music Wedding March and Michael Franti). We also absolutely love his original music (check out his albums on iTunes), so we asked him to play some of his songs during cocktail hour.

Lee executed our vision just exactly as we’d imagined it. We had some parts that needed tight musical cues (entrance music) and aspects of the ceremony which included both live music performed by him and recorded sound clips. It all went perfectly. The music he played during our reception was perfect, he’d asked for songs we loved and we loved every song he played. He had the dance floor filled the entire night.

We chose our wedding vendors based on their energy. A number of guests asked for his contact information and at least one reached out to him to hire him for an event after hearing him play at our wedding. Thank you, Lee, your music is a gift to the world and was such a beautiful part of our wedding!

Hands down best DJ there is! Michael was recommended by our wedding venue and as soon as we met him we knew why! Everything was perfect! Joshua Bonas did such an amazing job at our wedding, we couldn’t be happier! We first heard Josh play at En Fuego and knew after listening to a few live songs, that we wanted him for our entire wedding. Josh was so easy/accommodating while planning the wedding/choosing different songs. He was able to bring a relaxed feeling to our wedding (which my husband wanted) but also added a beautiful/elegant touch (which I wanted). He played during the prelude and processions during the ceremony, and the acoustic guitar (Canon in D), as I walked down the aisle. All while it was 105 degrees outside (hottest day on record for October)! He also played the guitar during our cocktail, and we received so many compliments of how good he was. One of my most favorite memories of our wedding was when Josh sang/played our first dance live- Making Memories of Us by Keith Urban. Josh kept the dance floor packed the entire time! All I wanted was a DJ that knew how to keep the party going and Josh nailed it! We highly recommend Josh, he is extremely talented and so professional. We look forward to listening him at En Fuego in Del Mar on Wednesday nights and reminiscing our wedding day.

We hired Joshua Bonas as our DJ for our wedding and he was wonderful!! All of our guests loved his style and were so impressed with his talent. Our ring bearer loves Michael Jackson and brought his construction paper list of requests to Josh at the start of the night and Josh was awesome and played "Beat It" for him, which got everyone on the dance floor!! My grandparents are avid square dancers and he played some old country for them and let them show off their moves as well, which was really neat. Our dance floor was packed the entire night, with dancers of all ages. Josh really has a knack for feeling the room and keeping people entertained, as well as keeping the music personalized to the wishlist my husband and I gave him. We were so happy we chose to go with Josh for our big day!! He knocked it out of the park and I wish we could go back and relive it again already!

We hired Lee Coulter for our wedding this weekend and he was a hit! Every single guest asked about him and complimented his guitar and DJ skills. I had to ask him for his card so I could give it out to my guests, thats how fabulous he was! The music was absolutely wonderful, he played everything we wanted and more! He also learned "Can't Help Falling in Love with You" by Elvis for when I walked down the aisle! Not a dry eye in the house!!!!!!! I really cannot say enough good things about Lee. Seriously, stop looking for your DJ and live music, and hire Lee. Right now. Michael Tiernan played live music during our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, he was amazing, our guests are still talking about what a great musician he is. He created an amazing atmosphere for the entire wedding. He was our DJ for the reception and had the younger and older generation dancing until the end of the night. Michael Tiernan was our musician - he’s absolutely amazing! We never thought we’d want a live musician but that was one of the things we had at our wedding that was so different from other weddings we’ve been to. Our friends and family were amazed with Michael’s performance and have been asking how we found such a talented musician (White Lace Events & Designs introduced us to him!).

We actually went down to see Michael perform at En Fuego and got know him a little bit before the wedding. Right away he started to understand our style. In fact, we told him we loved R Kelly’s Remix to Ignition and he played the acoustic version for us that night – that’s how talented he is! We told him we wanted Better Together by Jack Johnson as our first dance and he offered to record it for us so that we hear what it would sound like. And, the very next day he sent us the recording! It was perfect! While he offered to make any changes we requested, we never did because it was already perfection. We also told him we wanted to incorporate 1-2-3-4 by the Plain White T’s into the wedding and he recorded that too! Basically, if you want him to hear a song before the wedding, just ask and he’ll perform.

It’s been a month since our wedding and we are finding ourselves making trips to En Fuego just to hear him preform….keep in mind that En Fuego is an hour and a half south of us and on a Wednesday night nonetheless! Basically – hire Michael, he’s so talented and you’ll be glad you did!

Tolan was absolutely amazing. A coworker of mine recommended Still Listening Productions as our wedding DJ, so my now husband and I checked out the website. We were looking for someone to play at our ceremony as well as DJ, and we fell in love with Tolan's voice. So much that we had him play one of his original songs as the bridal party was walking out. Tolan played as our ceremony musician as well as our DJ throughout the night, and I cannot tell you how many people have complemented me on both. He set the mood for a beautiful ceremony with his wonderful guitar and vocal skills, and then created an unparalleled dance party when it came time for the reception. Even my wedding coordinator complemented me on how easy and professional he was to work with. I had a beach ceremony followed by reception all outside, and Still Listening Productions provided all the equipment needed making my job a lot easier.

Michael was amazing!! We were blown away by how much he cared to find out what vibe we were going for and how he followed through with that. You'll quickly see how talented he is, if you have him play anything acoustic and sing! He played guitar for our ceremony and cocktail hour, then switched modes to DJ for dinner and reception. I should also mention, each one of those 4 parts of the wedding (ceremony, cocktail, dinner, reception) were in 4 different places! He set up in all 4!!! Before the wedding, we had appointments with Michael over Skype to hear what songs he could do. I had a special request for my walk down the aisle, and he took the time to send me a separate recording of how he arranged it. Top notch service! During the reception, we had a rowdy crowd that danced the night away. He was great at judging what to play next to keep the party going...so much so that the crowd was chanting "One more song!" over and over and over. It was truly awesome.

Besides the music, Tracey was great working with us for the uplights, and photo booth. Our photo booth was staffed the whole time (they were also awesome) and people LOVED it.

It was really more than we could've asked for and Still Listening Productions made it very special and memorable. Huge thanks to them!

Absolutely amazing!! My wife and I decided early on that a good DJ/musician was the most important thing for us when planning our wedding. Thankfully, Michael Tiernan was recommended to us! He was personable, professional, and best of all, an incredible performer. Michael played guitar during our ceremony and DJ’d our reception. We got so many compliments about his performance and his MC ability. He kept in touch with us in the weeks leading up to the reception to confirm the music selection. Even sent us a video of him practicing our processional song! We had two of our friends sing at different points of the night, and Michael worked seamlessly with both of them. Catch one of his live shows in the San Diego area and you’ll be more than impressed with his work. He pours heart and soul into his music and you can tell. Michael was fantastic! He sang during the ceremony and cocktail hour at our wedding, and then was our emcee and DJ for the reception. Not only was he a wonderful singer--you could feel the heart and soul he poured into each song we asked him to sing--but he was also a very professional--verifying he knew how to pronounce the bridal party's names--, yet a fun DJ who knew what the crowd needed and when. The songs he chose to play during the reception kept our guests on the dance floor all night! We hired Michael for our wedding, and we couldn't have made a better choice!! He played guitar and sang for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner, and he sounded amazing! Everyone was commenting on how good he was. Prior to the wedding, he sent us a list of songs he knows, and then we had a call with him to go over the songs we liked and the vibe we were going for. My husband and I were initially thinking of having a live band at our wedding however when Michael Tiernan was recommended to us we did some research, read reviews and knew we had to have him at our wedding. With Michael we found a good mix of live music and a DJ and were beyond impressed with his talent. He sang and played acoustic guitar during our cocktail hour and for our first dance, father-daughter dance and mother-son dance. Michael impressively learned these songs and sent us an audio clip before the wedding to make sure we liked them. I would argue that his renditions sounded better than the originals! Michael’s DJ skills kept the guests dancing and many of them commented on how great the music was. It was clearly one of the highlights of the night!

Michael worked well with the wedding coordinator to keep the timeline of events organized. He is a friendly, reliable, fun and talented musician who I highly recommend. You can’t go wrong hiring him to entertain at your wedding or event! We plan on watching him live when we are back in town.

We couldn't have chosen a better musician/DJ for our wedding... Period. Not only do we personally feel that Michael did an incredible job ... Our guests couldn't stop mentioning him! Not just days, but weeks after our wedding friends and family would mention how "amazing our wedding was, especially the music guy... He was ridiculously good!"

To say Michael Tiernan is ridiculously good is an understatement! He could not have been more on point, more personal, more in touch to exactly what was going on... Michael Tiernan is simply amazing – seriously, you shouldn’t even be debating on whether you should book him – book him right now! Michael truly made our wedding day so special – he is a super talented musician, but more importantly, just an awesome guy. My wedding planner, Staci Tiras-Jones from Bliss Events, highly recommended him because I wanted to have live music and a DJ (originally was looking to book two different people). My husband and I went to hear him play during the week and we were blown away – in fact, we continued to bring friends out to hear him even after booking because he is just a really fun performer. All through the process, he is really easy to work with and helped give great suggestions for songs and for our lights (he did our Gobo and uplighting, which looked awesome!). On the actual wedding day, he sang/played guitar for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and our first dance. It was really awesome because he worked on an instrumental song for me for the bridesmaid’s processional (Led Zeppelin – Bron-Yr-Aur) and also did an amazing slowed down version of Mumford & Sons – I Will Wait for my processional. I also have to call out the fact that both my husband and I were debating between two songs for our first dance, so Michael sent us a video of him playing both to help us decide – how nice is that?! The DJ’ing portion of evening was perfect…the dance floor was always packed – people didn’t want to leave it! The last song of our wedding was really special too – Michael really makes your wedding the best day ever. I wish I could re-live the night again!! I can’t tell you how many comments we received afterward saying how awesome Michael was – truly, I feel honored to have had him be a part of our wedding day. Highly recommend!

Michael was fabulous! We weren’t planning on having a musician for our wedding, but a few months beforehand I changed my mind. We already had a DJ, so we asked him and our wedding planner if they had a recommendation and Michael came highly recommended to us. We contacted him and set up a time to watch him play and then met with him afterwards as well. We were impressed with his music and got a great feeling from him so we hired him! Michael was super easy to keep in contact with via email and we met with him again to make sure all the music choices and everything were finalized. He is such a nice, easygoing guy and was really easy and fun to work with.
For the wedding day, Michael showed up early to make sure everything was perfectly set up. We had hired him for the ceremony, cocktail hour, first dance and dinner. He sounded ridiculously amazing the whole time! It was the perfect added touch we wanted for the wedding. We had so many people come up to us and ask us who he was and tell us how great he sounded. We couldn’t have been happier with our decision to have him as part of our special day and it was well worth the money spent. We also had some technical difficulties with the officiant’s mic during the ceremony and Michael saved the day! We can’t recommend him enough! When we began the vendor selection process, we knew the entertainment was at the top of the list. Picking the DJ was probably the hardest choice, and then we FINALLY found Michael Tiernan. In a word, Michael is epic. We knew immediately he was the perfect DJ/musician for our wedding. He offered live and recorded music, which helped settle the decision of band vs. DJ. His vocals and guitar playing were fantastic and we've had a ton of wedding guests come up to tell us how incredible he was, or ask where they can buy his music. Michael is a very chill dude, but he still is on top of his game. He kept notes on all our requests and just knocked it out of the park! He played live for the ceremony, cocktails, part of the dinner hour, and all the major dances (first dance, father-daughter, mother-son). I'm actually sad we missed cocktail hour because so many people mentioned how fun it was and how great the music was! People were even dancing during cocktails from what I hear! We were able to give him all of our song requests, and he made sure to follow the list and picked the best ones on the list without me even clarifying. He even learned how to play the duet "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Callait solo! It was flawless. The dance floor was literally packed the whole night and we wish the party could have gone longer! Thank you Michael for making sure our wedding was a BLAST!

I hired Jonny Tarr from Still Listening Productioln for my big day without ever having met him. I just had a good vibe that he was the one that would make my wedding an epic celebration. It’s now been a week since my husband and I got married and all of our guests are still talking about how amazing the music was from the ceremony to the last song of the reception. People who didn’t even attend have been commenting on how they heard our music was the best at any wedding they had ever heard. My husband and I are both in the military and our group of friends attends a lot of weddings so that is saying a lot. I came down the aisle to an acoustic version of “All of Me”, the cocktail hour led to some live Coldplay and Bruno Mars and we entered the ballroom to an emceed “Turn Down for What” to start the party off right. I get chills thinking about how amazing the music was and how talented Jonny and Michael both are. Not to mention they are absolute gentlemen and super fun and Jonny’s accent is awesome. I would recommend them to any couple getting married hands down every single time. Thank you so much Jonny and Michael! You guys were the game changers of our big day.

I am beyond thrilled that we hired Michael for our wedding on June 21st, 2014. Having Michael as part of our big day was one of the best decisions we made! He did a beautiful job singing and playing the guitar for our ceremony and cocktail hour. When I started walking down the aisle and heard him singing the song we chose, it brought tears to my eyes. Michael was so amazing to work with! He listened to all of our suggestions and gave us great ideas for music and even ideas for extra personalized touches we could add, like having my now husband’s favorite football team fight song play during the garter toss. We were even able to make our first dance really personal with Michael playing the guitar as the best man sang our song.

Michael truly brought so much life to the wedding and especially the reception. The dance floor was packed all night and the variety of music was absolutely perfect! Michael also made a special mix for our father/daughter dance that was spot on! I did not expect much for the end of the wedding but Michael said we would go with the flow and see how it ends… HE BLEW EVERYONE AWAY! We ended the night all singing Journey together before he brought out his guitar and got all of my guests to participate in one last song with my husband and me in the middle. It was truly magical! I have recommended him to so many of my friends and I wish I could get married again to relive it all, especially the amazing time we all had out on the dance floor to Michael’s music!

When my fiancé (Laura) was planning our wedding reception, one of my biggest concerns was the music. I've been to many receptions where there is an obnoxious DJ playing music at about 200 decibels and demanding that people get on the dance floor. Laura assured me that Tolan was understanding of my concerns and wanted to help us have the type of event that we hoped for. When she told me he was also a talented musician, I was sold. Musicians understand people as well as music.
Tolan put together our playlist and program that was perfect for the event. The dance floor was always crowded with guests having a great time.
Tolan acted as the Master of Ceremonies, DJ and Facilitator all in one. He is very professional, talented and humble and I would recommend him to anyone wanting to ensure their event is not just successful, but memorable as well.

Michael is amazing! We were blessed enough to have Michael DJ our wedding in April and we still have people talking about how wonderful he was! His acoustic set was perfect. He took the time to perfect our requested songs to make the ceremony, procession and recession extremely meaningful, touching and absolutely flawless. He then also did a live set during cocktail hour and dinner, which made the time so much more fun, and even worked with my dad to work some songs into his speech to make it unforgettable (I am smiling as I type). One of the things that I loved about working with Michael is he makes everything so easy. We had a very creative grand entrance and he scheduled a separate call just to make sure he got it all and made all of our crazy requests seem like no big deal. Michael puts the heart, thought and time into making your event exceed your dreams. He put so much thought into our song selections to play some of our favorite genres and artists (even ones I mentioned off the cuff he remembered) and just made our wedding the best party ever. Michael was the musician and DJ at our wedding a few weeks ago in April. We had heard that he was the best in town when we booked him last year, and there is a reason he and his company have that reputation. Not only is Michael an extremely talented singer/songwriter who can play any song you request, he is an awesome emcee for any event and can really get the party started. Through the planning process, he was so easy to work with and incredibly helpful with all of our questions and silly requests. On our special day, Michael created an emotional and loving ceremony experience, a casual and chill cocktail hour and an awesome party with his songs, voice and awesome DJ skills. When looking for our wedding musician and DJ, we asked a few of our other vendors for recommendations, and they ALL had Michael at the top of their lists. We then spoke with him and a few others. He followed up our call with a personalized video giving us a sampling of his acoustic performance of a couple of our favorite songs. At this point, Michael clearly stood out from all the others, and we had to hire him!

Overall we couldn't have asked for more from Michael. He was very professional, and genuinely the nicest guy. He went out of his way to learn a couple new songs for us for our ceremony, which he performed beautifully.

We had a change in schedule and added a new venue for our ceremony (separate from our reception site), and Michael was very flexible to accommodate the late changes.

Michael noted all the little details from all of our discussions to really personalize the music selection. My wife and I live in Boston, and during one of our conversations with Michael we mentioned how cool it would be to incorporate "Sweet Caroline" somehow into the music selection. Michael ended up surprising us at the end of the night by gathering everyone onto the dance floor and performed an acoustic version of "Sweet Caroline" while we all sang along. It was a very memorable moment, and a special touch to the evening.

Michael is truly awesome - as a musician, a performer, a professional and an individual. There is no doubt that we have absolutely no regrets choosing him for our music. If you are looking for a wedding musician and/or DJ, I highly recommend going with Michael, you will not regret it!

Michael is AMAZING. I would highly recommend him to any of our family and friends who are looking for a musician and DJ for a wedding or event. He jammed out on his guitar during cocktail hour (which i missed due to bride and groom pictures but heard he was fantastic), sang our first song, sang the song my dad and I danced to, and did a special performance for our grand exit on the guitar which involved some of our guests singing along. The music he played for the dance portion of the night was perfect, the dance floor was NEVER empty and my husband and I danced so much our feet hurt the next day and legs were sore - and no we are not weak, we really danced that hard! I feel so lucky to have had Michael as our DJ/Musician, and can't imagine our wedding without him. He nailed it. You won't be disappointed if you book Michael.

We had the honor of having Collin Elliott perform and DJ at our wedding. From beginning to end, Collin was engaged and invested in making our wedding day special. He had the unusual challenge of setting up sound systems in four different areas, and did so flawlessly.

At the ceremony he played acoustic guitar. I will always treasure walking down the aisle to a beautifully played acoustic "Something" by the Beatles.

At cocktail hour he played a tasteful compilation of songs, keeping people of all ages entertained.

Dinner was perfectly mic'd up for speeches and had upbeat music at the appropriate volume for people to converse while still enjoying the background music.

For our first dance, my husband and Collin worked together to surprise me . Collin's low-tempo, acoustic rendition of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" left me in a state of sheer joy. There wasn't a dry eye in the house! Even my wedding planner, who has worked weddings for 20 years, said she has never seen such a touching first dance, and we owe that to Collin.

Collin kept everyone on the dance floor all night, sticking to some of our selections and making experienced choices from there.

Lastly, while setting up our sparkler exit, Collin made the exceptional call to play songs with which wedding guests could interact and sing along. It was another magical moment thanks to Collin.

Thank you Collin for making our day so special for our guests and for us!

As parents of the bride,we couldn't be happier with the kids' choice of music providers. At the wedding, the reception...Michael was terrific, setting just the right mood for the occasion. Not only were you waaay better than the average dj/musician, you genuinely listened to what the kids wanted, which made for a special celebration that all our guests enjoyed. Also, my husband & I were were darned impressed when after closing his Father-of-the-bride speech with a line from a little-known Bruce Springsteen song, you then played that song! Just perfect.

I am so glad that we booked Collin for our wedding - he was fantastic. He did a great job as a DJ, and kept everyone dancing throughout the night. Josh played guitar during our ceremony and cocktail hour. His voice is amazing, and he absolutely set the mood and tone we wanted. When he played "Falling Slowly" as I walked down the sandy beach aisle there was not one dry eye. Our Malibu Beach wedding was absolutely perfect and a big part of it was Josh. Michael Tiernan was highly recommended from our wedding planner, Paige at Bliss Events, so we decided to meet with him and we do not regret it. Just WOW! Michael ended up taking care of the music and the lightning for our wedding.

I'm from France and my wife from Ecuador, so it was tricky to incorporate different styles of music but Michael nailed it. On top of that, he played all of our ceremony songs as well as all of our dances himself and he was so good. Music was great, he's an amazing singer and entertainer too, he's so talented! It doesn't get any better than this people, if he's available, hire Michael Tiernan today - you will not be disappointed. The price is right and even lower than other companies that were doing less than Michael.

My husband and I first saw Michael Tiernan perform at our friend's wedding two years ago, where he played acoustic guitar (and sang) during the cocktail hour and then DJed during the reception. He in one word: rocked. When my husband and I became engaged, we knew we wanted Michael Tiernan for our wedding. Having already seen him at a wedding, we knew Michael was talented but we had no idea just how nice, accommodating and HOW talented he really is. I have three dads (the result of multiple marriages, but I love them all) and Michael didn't bat an eye when I asked him to perform abridged versions of three different songs for each father-daughter dance. When asked for a recommendation for the mother-son dance, Michael pulled out his guitar and sang the first line of "Have I told You Lately that I Love You" by Van Morrison. We had goose bumps! He also was able to remake "I Will Wait" by Mumford and Sons into a slower paced song that was much easier to walk down the aisle to. Aside from his creativity, Micheal has a fun, energetic spirit that made the guests feel entertained and welcomed. Probably half the guests during the wedding came up to me and commented on how great our DJ was (even my own aunt who is also a DJ!) and everyone we've talked to since the wedding brings him up again. Having a musician who can perform so many different genres so well AND be such a talented DJ (the dance floor was NEVER empty) was such a treat and ultimately made the wedding a success. I cannot recommend Michael highly enough!

Michael performed our ceremony music for us at our outdoor wedding. He was fantastic all around. From the planning to the execution, I can't say enough wonderful things about him. All of our guests commented on how great our music was. His suggestions for song choices were spot on, and the ceremony flowed perfectly with the music. My daughter hired Michael Tiernan for her wedding last week and I can't say enough about his skills as a musician, DJ, and emcee for the evening!!!

His rendition of "Marry Me" on his acoustic guitar had everyone tearing up as the wedding began. Michael has an impressive range. In fact, he was able to sing everything from Guns and Roses to Dire Straits to Sixpence None the Richer (all requested by the bride).

In addition to his considerable talent as a musician, is his ability to pace his songs to match the slow dance needed for the "non-dancing" father-of-the bride vs. the upbeat fun enjoyed by the groom and his mother!

Michael moved our guests smoothly from cocktails to dinner; from speeches to busting their moves on the dance floor (not an easy task for any DJ facing a crowd aged 3 to 72). Throughout the evening, the dance floor was NEVER empty - something I haven't seen at a wedding in years!

Colin SUPER DJ and Amazing Guitarist – you were all so amazing, but Colin is probably the most fun to write about as he was the biggest surprise of all. To be honest Alia and I both love music so much, we felt we better interview a few DJ’s, this is the part that had to go right to make a party a REAL party and that is what we wanted. The day Alia met Colin she came home elated and said she was positive he was going to be incredible, the interview process could stop. Colin exceeded our expectations by about 5 million percent, it was unbelievable and every guest loved him. He played all of our favorite music but threw in just the right amount of his own to keep the party going perfectly. You are also a fantastic musician and your live set was awesome, another part that just made the whole day. Finally at the end of the night when Alia and I felt nothing could be more fun, Colin jumped up on top of the fence with his guitar, orchestrated a fire exit and belted out the Lumineers, Ho Hey, with more emotion and love than the band themselves. Alia and I were in shock and so overwhelmed with emotion we could barely speak. Working with you was like hanging with an old friend (completely effortless), we consider you a friend and hope to refer you and your company as much work as possible. If we had to rate your performance on a scale of 1 to 10, we give it a 20! Again, every guest came up to us and said where did you find this person, we have never seen anything like it. You made the party a party and that is exactly what we wanted, thank you.

Michael Tiernan. Besides being the coolest guy you will ever meet he is also insanely talented. We had Michael do live music for our ceremony and cocktail hour at the Estancia Hotel in La Jolla and it was one of the best decisions we made! He was able to learn my husband and I's song and during the ceremony I was standing there with my dad waiting to start walking and I started crying because it was so perfect. The live music is such a great way to keep the ceremony intimate and personal!

He has an amazing voice and as far as DJing goes - if you want someone who is going to play awesome music, keep the dancing going, and look cool doing it he is your guy. The day after everyone was talking about how they had never danced so much in their lives!!! You couldn't get off the dance floor because every song was great!

He is the best!

Michael did an amazing job for my wedding. At first we really wanted a band but it just didn’t fit into our budget. Our wedding Coordinator (Suzanne from BB Wedding and Events) recommended we talk to Michael who not only DJ’s but also plays the guitar and sings. My husband and I hit it off with him right away. He did an amazing job DJ’ing the event and getting the crowd on the dance floor (which wasn’t an easy task with a smaller sized wedding) but he also sang and played during the dinner service. It was awesome. I got the best of both worlds! I couldn’t have been happier.

I knew the second that I saw my 78 year old uncle out on the dance floor we had the right DJ.
From the very first time I met Michael, he was friendly, had great recommendations, and asked questions about songs and dances that I hadn't even thought of. He took all of our likes and dislikes, all of our requests and bans, and created this great playlist that started at our cocktail hour and ended with our last dance.
He made sure that the wedding was about us, not a platform for him to put on a show. This was an evening about us, not about him and he not only respected that, he enforced that.
He had every song that we wanted - even our obscure and indie requests - found songs that matched and built the most amazing playlist that had the party dancing all night. I mean the whole wedding party - Grandmothers, Great-uncles, kids and everyone in between - spent the night dancing and singing along with the music.
If you're looking for a great DJ, this the guy to go with. I couldn't imagine my wedding day ending on a sweeter note.

Hiring Michael to play at our wedding was hands-down one of the best decisions we made. His heartfelt music and friendly personality set the tone for what was a dream wedding for us. After raving about the ceremony/cocktail hour music, guests hit the dance floor near the beginning of the reception and they never left!!! Everyone from our 3-year old flower girl, to our NYC 30-something friends, to our grandparents went nuts over the music!! I cannot envision our wedding running more smoothly (or being more fun!), and a lot of that had to do with Michael. He is a true professional, yet makes it look so easy. Still Listening Productions did an absolutely amazing job for our wedding! I seriously cannot rave enough! We met with Michael (via Skype since we were planning our wedding from out of the area) only a handful of times before our wedding, and he made planning our music selection the easiest task. He is extremely talented and creative, and he really has the knowledge of what works best to keep guests entertained. Michael played acoustic guitar for both our ceremony and cocktail hour. He was accompanied by a violinist for our ceremony, which added the perfect romantic touch. For our reception, the live Trio kicked off the dance party, and then Michael DJ'd as the night drew to an end. It was the perfect combination, and our guests young and old all loved it!! He also really goes the extra mile in learning special requested songs or adding unique touches to the event -- he even serenaded us as we made our exit to the getaway car. Michael was wonderful! He played an accoustic guitar for our ceremony music, and was also the DJ during the reception, ending with a specific song request on the accoustic guitar for our final song. He met with us a few times to give ideas on music for everything, had song lists that we could choose from, sent us videos of him singing a few songs that we wanted to hear his version of to make sure we wanted him to sing them during the ceremony, etc. His DJing was great, and the dance floor was full from the beginning of the reception to the end. He was incredibly responsive and so fun to work with. I would recommend him to any bride and groom. The best value because we got so much out of it.

Josh Bonas works with Still Listening Productions as a songwriter/musician/DJ. I would HIGHLY recommend him for any wedding/event! The dance floor was crowded the whole night and Josh knew exactly what songs my guests wanted to hear. He is very knowledgeable regarding songs/artists. He helped my husband and I pick out wedding songs and must-plays. Josh is beyond a 5 STAR! If I host any event in the future, I will make sure to have him there!

Michael is awesome! It was so great to have him share his musical talent with us on our wedding day. He was the musician at our friend's wedding and we loved him so much we booked him without meeting with anyone else or listening to his music again. Michael helped make our day special and fun. I highly recommend him!

Easy to work with!

They were an all around great group to work with, starting with Michael who was the booking manager. He is very responsive, and made the planning very easy. We had two bookings through Still Productions for our wedding - a live musician for our ceremony/cocktail hour and a DJ for our reception. Our musician, Jonny, was terrific! He was willing to learn our special requested song, and sent us video samples so we could get a feel for the ceremony music beforehand, and it turned out perfectly. He was so talented and was really easy to work with and communicate with. His music created a really great atmosphere for our cocktail hour and provided a personal touch for our ceremony. He was also incredibly flexible with us as we worked through dealing with rain and having to make a decision the morning of to move everything inside. Our DJ Jolin was also really great to work with. He worked closely with us on a special mother-son dance with a very random song choice that required some queuing from the DJ and it went really well! He had us give him a list of must plays and got through most of them. Definitely listened to our don’t play. We allowed guests to make requests and that worked out great. He wasn’t the most energetic MC but he had good transitions and felt the room well with music choices.

Jonny Tarr was a hit at our wedding.

Jonny Tarr from Still Listening Productions was our DJ and musician at our destination wedding at L'Auberge Del Mar and he was incredible. We submitted an extensive song list for him for play at the dinner and dancing, and he fulfilled all of those requests without a problem. But where he really shined was when he sang and played guitar for our ceremony, cocktail hour and even surprised us by performing the song for our first dance. He was fantastic, and numerous guests approached us at the end of the night exclaiming how impressed they were. Jonny obviously celebrates the beauty and excitement of music, and it showed in everything he did for our wedding.
