Stephanie is the best
Stephanie Naru is not only one of the most excellent photographers on the East Coast, but also one of the kindest.
My husband and I hired an all-star lineup of vendors but to have Stephanie with us all day on our wedding day literally cheering us on, holding our hands, and supporting us through this long, overwhelming, exceedingly special day was invaluable to us.
Stephanie and her team captured our wedding true to vibe and true to color--which was so important to us given we had a very colorful event. Her style is undoubtedly vibey and on trend yet extremely classic and we can't wait to look back on these photos for the rest of our lives.
If you are looking for a photographer, please please please hire Stephanie... you won't regret it!! -

Stephanie is a true pro at what she does! We booked her for a summer engagement shoot in Brooklyn Heights and a winter wedding at Brooklyn Winery after seeing how natural both the style and the couples felt through her work. The whole way through, she was professional, and we could not have felt more in good hands. She made our engagement shoot feel fun and loose, and that really showed in the photos, and the wedding photos capturing the emotion, fun, and beauty of the night will be ones we will cherish for the rest of our lives. We also got a healthy preview of photos the morning after the wedding that gave us something to get excited about before the full drop. We have no doubt you'll feel you've made the right choice picking Stephanie! -

Hiring Stephanie was hands down the best decision we made during our entire wedding planning process. We worked with her and her team for our city hall elopement, rehearsal dinner, and our larger celebration with friends and family—and every experience was exceptional.
Stephanie, along with her assistant Erin and videographer Jordan, went above and beyond on our wedding day. Stephanie is incredibly organized, professional, and such a joy to be around. She made both me and my husband feel completely at ease in front of the camera, which made the whole experience fun and stress-free.
At one point, I started to feel unwell from the heat, and both Stephanie and Erin were so supportive and thoughtful. They made sure we stayed in the shade, gave me time to take breaks, and Erin even ran out to grab me a Gatorade before the ceremony started. You’d never know from the photos that I wasn’t feeling my best—they turned out absolutely stunning.
If you're looking for natural, beautiful wedding photos that truly capture the emotion and joy of the day, Stephanie and her team are truly the best. She even sent us a huge preview gallery in less than 24 hours, and we can’t wait to see the full album and video. Cannot recommend them enough! -

When we started planning our wedding, one of our top priorities was finding a talented photographer to capture the day. Working in film and television, I know the indelible power of images and it was important to us to find someone who could shoot everything from portraits to candids with style and emotion. I don’t think we could have found anyone better than Stephanie Naru.
We first discovered her through a recommendation by the photographer of a friend's wedding. When we saw her portfolio what stood out most to us was her naturalistic sense of color and composition and the way that she elevated the subjects while including the environment in perfect balance. When we met her we were impressed by how easy she was to communicate with and how well she was able to take our sense of style and personality and synthesize through her own lens.
Stephanie also excels at planning and day-of logistics. It was important to us to capture some photos in locations very personal to our story in the Catskills about 20 minutes from our venue. Stephanie was not only very accommodating but also helped us figure out a schedule that allowed us to achieve our ambitious goal with as little stress as possible. At the venue, once we had captured our portraits and family photos, Stephanie faded into the background, continuing to capture all the important moments without needing any more direction. At the end of the night she grabbed us to see if we wanted any last specific photos, giving us an opportunity to gather our closest friends for a few fun shots.
We were delighted with how the photos turned out and are so happy to have them in addition to the memories we formed that night. We cannot recommend Stephanie highly enough! -

We worked with Stephanie as the second photographer for our wedding in Windham, NY on June 2023. She is a consummate progressional, blended seamlessly with everyone, and was a joy to be around. booking stephanie for our wedding reception was easily the best decision i made. her photos are flawless and her style is so artistic, romantic and elegant. the cherry on top is that she is truly a sweet, warm person and a joy to work with. my husband and family loved her. she is very easy to communicate with, is eager to learn what a client's comfort zone and vision are for their event, and is so much fun. i definitely plan on working with her again! thank you, stephanie :) -

Stephanie has done my sister's engagement and wedding and my cousin's wedding. We loved the deep, rich colors in her editing style so we booked her for our engagement session and we had booked her to do our wedding in June 2020 as well! Our engagement session was so lovely. She was friendly, warm, and comfortable to work with the entire time. My husband was so nervous that his smile would look forced in all the photos, but she really captured the way we look at each other and our love was palpable in every photo! She unfortunately couldn't photograph our wedding, but she took all of the raw images from the day and edited them for us, and they came out beautifully. -

I met Stephanie in a yoga class she was teaching (yes, she’s also a phenomenal yoga teacher!) & learned she was a photographer. I was looking for one for my wedding at the time & Stephanie was incredibly supportive & helpful while I was deciding & looking at other potentials photographers without ever pressuring me to hire her. I’m so incredibly glad I went with her! Not only is her energy so soothing & joyful on a highly chaotic & emotional day, she captured all the moments I wanted plus some gorgeous shots I could never have planned if I tried! She was so accommodating, professional & friendly, everyone in the wedding party & our families loved her! And she got our edited photos to us so quickly! I was so pleased with our engagement & wedding photos & the wonderful experience that I hired her to do our maternity & newborn photos as well, about a year & a half later 😊 Trust me, newborn photos are tough & my week old daughter decided she was NOT sleepy & did not want to stay calm despite every effort. Stephanie maintained a gentle & calm manner & environment, took her time & gave us plenty of time to soothe & calm my baby & take breaks as needed (even capturing some beautiful unplanned shots in the process) & got really gorgeous photos! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding or family photographer! -

Stephanie is the best - she’s communicative, creative and compassionate! We first hired her for our engagement shoot back in 2015, had so much fun working together, and then hired her again in 2019 for a newborn shoot after the birth of our daughter and again in 2020 for a family photo shoot. Stephanie immediately made us feel comfortable and had great ideas that allowed us to connect as a newly engaged couple and later as a family of three. It felt more like inviting a good friend to capture incredible memories. Stephanie is talented and professional. You couldn’t ask for a better experience or final product. -
