This venue was recommended to me by a friend, and I have to say, you can't beat the price. The venue is flexible and allows decorations on the walls (but nothing sharp to hang them with) and candles can be used as long as the flame is contained. They have a very serviceable kitchen and large freezer, parking is available and easily accessible, the sound system is great, and the lighting options were pretty. They also assign an 'attendant' from the city to assist on the day of the wedding, both to make sure that you can keep your security deposit, and to help with the venues quirks. there is a lovely view of the water and a cute park right behind the building that is perfect for pictures. I would definitely recommend to a friend :)

Steilacoom Town Hall was chosen because of location. It has beautiful surroundings and was meaningful to bride and groom. The drawback was the the staff. The staff was not flexible. They are very "by the book." I understand contracts and the purpose of them but human compassion and understanding would be nice. The answer was always no and harshly dished out. (We wanted to store the centerpieces in boxes in townhall the night before and were willing to sign not responsible for loss but it was not even open for discussion)(townhall was not rented the day before either - I even offered to pay but shirt of renting for two days the answer was no!)
The day of reception went well, however the staff SCREAMED at guest for taking a beer outside. I know it's the rule but a normal voice verbal warning (and maybe a sign) would have sufficed for adults. Honest mistake that was quickly rectified. The wedding was wonderful so it's hard to say if we would go back to location, I'm going to say Yes because we loved the wedding and believe in the best of people.

Just be adviced that they are by the book and may chuck it at you! Haha

My husband and I chose this place because of the location and price for rental. With that being said, if we had known how the mandatory attendee would act, we would've gotten married elsewhere. She was extremely unhelpful and rude. Pauline, the person we mainly dealt with was mostly pleasant and we didn't have any issues with her. She did seem a little bit short sometimes and when we were discussing dates with her, it was slightly difficult because we had to change our date once, but other than that she was okay. The attendee though, she was a real treat! She tried to dictate the entire set up of the reception! We had a planner there that was more than qualified to place things in the right area and knew what she was doing, but this lady would not give it up! She even got pissed at me for having drinks in the conference room. I snuck one in anyway because it was 90 degrees and I was in a heavy dress!! Plus my 6 year old and all of the others in the room were on fire and parched. Shame on her for being so unwilling to be helpful and compromise!

As a bride who holds the town of Steilacoom very near and dear to my heart, it is to much of my disappointment to say that the Steilacoom Town Hall services were nothing short from horrible. From the coordinator, Pauline, scolding me because I wanted at least 25 minutes to scope out the venue for my wedding ( mind you I had scheduled this meeting a MONTH in advance), to the town attendee who supervised our reception who demanded our eight and half month pregnant friend to take out the piles of trash, which turns out the trash was not even ours, but from a previous event. There is zero empathy, zero compassion, and zero flexibility. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, the last thing you want to deal with is a vendor who is completely unwilling to help or support you in any way shape or form. I am not only completely frustrated with the type of customer service we received, but also the complaints from our guests saying how incredibly rude the mandatory attendee was.
