    Special place for events

We had our 60th wedding anniversary party at Steel Magnolia Barn and it was a wonderful experience. The venue is just beautiful and Megan was so kind to work with and made the decor look stunning. It was just like the wedding I dreamed of as a young lady. There are so many thoughtful touches and details throughout the venue, it really is beautiful by itself. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a special place for a wedding or event.

    Perfect Day

I used Steel Magnolia Barn as my venue to get married in September of this year. It was the smoothest, nicest, most accommodating experience ever! The venue is beyond gorgeous and the owner is amazing, knowledgeable, and flexible to work with. She helped me a lot with the process with me being a first time bride. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day. It will be recommended to everyone I know!!!!!!!

    An amazing venue!!

Steel Magnolia Barn well exceeded any expectations I had! The venue was beautiful and had so many options for ceremony sites. The bridal suite was amazing and the perfect suite for the bridal party to get ready in. The open vendor policy gives you complete control over the structure of you're day which I really appreciated. Megan is super flexible and was so easy to work with leading up to the big day. Also, definitely book the decor package!! Megan and her team go above and beyond and decorate the place BEAUTIFULLY and even take care of plates, chargers, glasses, etc. We were super grateful for that! Overall, this is an amazing venue in the Nashville area that was the perfect setting for our special day.

    Stunning Venue! Highly Recommend

This is such a stunning venue and Megan is so great to work with! Not only do they have an awesome Décor package you can use (tables, linens, chairs) but also great garland, vases and cake table options and all sorts of beautiful items! For me the atmosphere was the most important part of my wedding. I wanted the night to feel classy but not stuffy and warm and welcomed but not casual and this place knocked it out of the park! No need to pay for tons of draping to add to the barn it’s stunning just as it is! Gorgeous feature walls, fabulous chandeliers, multiple ceremony site options and not a single detail overlooked! Make sure you plan to spend plenty of time in the super cute bridal suite too. If you want a fantastic new venue this one should be on the top of your list to check out!

“You Get What You Pay For”

To start with, the venue itself is absolutely beautiful! That was one of the main reasons why I decided to go through with booking this venue. Plus included in the price are chairs and tables (round and farmhouse). The owner offers a decor package but we decided to bring in our own decorations.

Unfortunately, there were stressful aspects during the planning process with Megan (the owner). She has her cell phone listed as the business point of contact and one of the times I called to discuss information about the venue she answered unprofessionally and came off very rude. I wanted to go over our timeframe at the venue. She gave me the timeframe and said, "You have from 9-10 and 10-11 to get your stuff and get out.". I was very put off guard at the tone. Sometimes she would respond to questions via text but there was definitely a lack of response on her end. I wasn't local, so I was able to visit the venue twice before the wedding day. She was having renovations done and once they were done we wanted to come visit the venue and see it finalized. After it took a week to get a response, I was told to just let her know and she would unlock the door. And that is exactly what happened, she didn't even take the time or want to schedule with us to meet with us. So my now husband and I looked around without anyone there to meet. After that, there were only a few conversations.

Now the day of the wedding, there was a lot of miscommunication which made it stressful for unnecessary reasons. We had discussed having chairs and tables being in another room. She told us that was something that we had to take care of and set up. I didn't expect to get an attitude and then her husband decided to make rude comments while passing by without being involved in the conversation. I was told that "I get what I paid for". Chairs and tables were what was included in my payment. In regards to the tables and chairs they end up making it right but being treated that way especially the day before the wedding was completely unnecessary. Megan did step up and apologize for her husband's remarks but we shouldn't have been put in that position in the first place. I understand people have things going on in their personal life but it's not an excuse to treat people who are paying for your services to be rude.

    Steel Magnolia Barn's reply:

Hi Lindsey! We appreciate your feedback as we do want to learn from any mistakes we make. I do wish to address a couple of your comments here, regarding the time frame... you asked me what hours you have the venue and I did respond with "You have the venue from 9am until 10pm for the event and then get your stuff out by 11" and then you asked me what happens if you can't get everything out in that time frame and I responded with "its never a big deal if you go over a little but we usually don't have much issue with it." I went back and reviewed our text and I answered a lot of questions from both you and your mother and there were a couple times I missed a message but that occasionally happens when you are corresponding with a lot of brides and I apologize for that. In regards to your visit with your husband, I let you know ahead of time that if you came that Monday I had appointments that day and would be in and out but would leave the gate open for you.... you responded with "Okay great I'll let you know when we head that way just so you know." The miscommunications were the day before the wedding when you arrived for rehearsal and setup. The package you paid for was for the venue rental and included the tables and chairs.... not setup of the table and chairs... however prior to the wedding we did message your wedding planner and got a layout and set up the tables and chairs with the layout she provided us with. We also relayed the message to the planner that if the couple wanted to use the fire pit they would need to bring logs... the fire pit is something that is not included in our brochure or contract... just something that we have on hand if couples would like to use but they must provide the wood. The planner miscommunicated this to the bride and this was address and resolved by the planner. The "you get what you pay for" comment was referring to both of those incidents where table and chair setup and logs were not included in your package. I apologized numerous times to Lindsey for the mix up and both the planner and myself made sure the fire was stocked with wood for the reception. I also stayed late and helped with pack up and cleanup of all of Lindseys decor to make sure the reception went smoothly and in hopes her family could enjoy it. Your wedding was beautiful and I'm glad we got to be apart of your special day.
