Curt is Amazing!!!

Stax O Wax is amazing! We hired Curt to DJ our wedding after my sister used him a few years ago and saw what a fabulous job he did. He delivered another exceptional evening of fun!

Curt is very easy to work with, very professional and very accommodating. We had a few obscure requests for songs, and at very specific times, and he made it happen without blinking an eye! He is fun and kind. It is clear he enjoys what he does and always has a smile on his face! Throughout the entire planning process, he was very responsive and helpful. The night of the wedding, he checked in with us frequently and made sure we were happy with how everything was going. He also assured us that we could change things up at any time. He really wanted to make sure that we had the best night ever!

When our wedding had to change due to CoVid-19 restrictions, we were only able to have 50 guests and no dance floor. I was worried about how the evening would go with such a small crowd but it ended up being incredible! Curt kept people dancing and singing the entire night. Many of our guests commented afterwards on how great he was and how they never wanted to leave the 'dance floor,' due to his musical selections. He is very experienced and knows how to read a crowd.

Thank you, Curt for making our wedding reception so incredible! We had the time of our lives!

Incredible DJ!

If we could give Curt more than 5 stars, we would. He was referred to us by a family member who had him DJ at their wedding, and we would easily recommend him to anyone else. He was always prompt to answer calls and respond to voicemails or emails, and kept lines of communication very open during the planning process. He also made sure the wedding was exactly what we would want. He asked a lot of questions and was extremely knowledgeable! Additionally, his DJ skills were appreciated greatly on the dance floor - our friends were dancing all night long, and more than once told us that they were impressed by the DJ!

Curt and Stax O Wax were incredible, and we would recommend them to everyone!

Wedding DJ

Curt was absolutely amazing!! He made our special day even more perfect. From the beginning, he ensured that we were well informed and was willing to help or answer any questions we might have had. His experience and professionalism was evident through the whole process. He definitely kept the party going and ensured to check up periodically to see how we were doing. Our DJ, Curt Zimmerman, was the epitome of professionalism. From our initial phone call, to our e-mail communications, online planning and the event itself - Curt honored our wishes and worked with us to craft the reception we wanted. He was extremely responsive and did an excellent job of being unobtrusive but present. Can't say enough good things about our experience. We definitely had a large and varied number of requests and details for him to keep in mind and he nailed it.

I was asking around to find a good DJ, and one of my friends said, "Stax-O-Wax was Phenomenal!" She said that she had used them 20 years ago. I was thrilled to see that they were still in business. We worked with Curt, and he was Great! Our dance floor was packed all night long. I would Absolutely recommend Stax-O-Wax to anyone who needs a DJ!

Curt was absolutely wonderful!!!! Everything went perfectly and I could not have asked for more! He played all of my requests but also felt out the crowd and played songs to keep everyone dancing. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone planning a wedding!!!

Stax O Wax was phenomenal for our wedding! From our first initial meeting with Curt he was extremely professional and knowledgeable. Having done many weddings before, he guided us with the do's and don'ts for our ceremony and reception and made us feel like we were in great hands. When it came to the wedding day, Curt was fantastic! He made sure all the songs we wanted were played, and did a great job filling in the rest of the playlist for the night. Overall, we definitely recommend Stax O Wax to anyone in need of a DJ, our night was so much smoother and stress free because of him!

Curt was fantastic! He was able to work with us on arranging payment options and was extremely professional. He played great music all night that was excellent for all ages and it wasn't too loud, but it was loud enough to have people dancing outside as well as on the dance floor inside. He also made the cake cutting and speeches and first dances run very smooth. I would tell anyone that wants a d.j. at their wedding about curt and stax o wax.

I have used Stax O Wax before and knew how great their services are. However, my now wife wanted to use a family friend who was less expensive. But the DJ sets the entire mood for the whole event. I stuck to my grounds and we hired Stax O Wax. Now I knew they would be great but when the bartenders, who have seen just about everything, tell you how great the DJ is then you know you have a great DJ. The dance floor was always full with everyone dancing from kids to adults. And yes my wife was very happy I fought her on the DJ as she LOVED Stax O Wax!!! Thank you Curt for an amazing job!

I can not say enough good stuff about Curt and Stax O Wax!! They exceeded our expectations in every way possible. I had a vision in my head of how I wanted my ceremony music to go and without much discussion on it, Curt did it exactly how I had envisioned it! Everything was perfect from beginning to end and Curt definitely kept everyone on the dance floor. In fact, I can't remember a time the floor was empty until it was time to go home! Curt was attentive and professional from day one. He worked with us to select songs and offered some different options that we really liked. A true pro with a lot of experience in weddings and events. We were given access to an online catalog of songs that made things really easy. Curt even followed up with us to ensure everything was the way we wanted it, even confirming correct pronunciation of everyone's name in the bridal party. Curt was very agile in being able to adjust to what needed to be done at the time. I would highly recommend Stax O Wax productions for any event.

Curt was the DJ at our wedding and he was absolutely amazing! Not only is he a great guy to work with, but he made our wedding better than we could have ever imagined! He is fun, timely, and professional. My husband and I wanted to walk out to Chelsea Dagger and he had a great remix that we used and everyone loved it! I could not believe how great the service from Stax O Wax was. They had open communication from "Day One" when looking into them, answered all our questions, and just went above and beyond to make our wedding reception one to remember. I'm not saying the reception venue was ugly by any means, but the "uplighting" that they provided around the room really glammed up the place. It made the area look a lot bigger and nicer. Overall, it was well worth the money. The dance floor was full the entire night, before and after our first dance. I couldn't ask for a better turn out. Thanks, Shawn & Curt!

I got married on May 2nd, 2015 and had contracted the services of Stax O Wax for our musical entertainment. I am not one to really write reviews but I have to for this company. Our DJ for the evening was Curt and he was amazing! I had him help me with a silly joke on my dad for our first dance and he delivered perfectly. He was extremely great to work with. He was very accommodating, kind, informative and he was always happy and smiling. I definitely recommend him as your wedding DJ. He will make sure everything turns out perfect for your special day and he is concerned if you are satisfied or not. I couldn't have chosen a better DJ because he is the best there is! Stax o Wax Dj company did a great job during our ceremony as well and the reception. They made sure that we were aware of how things were going to go from the beginning to the end of the night and were constantly making sure we were having a good time. They had people on the dance floor the whole night. Stax o wax went above their expectation of just being a DJ for the evening by making sure we knew the next step of the evening from speeches to entrances.

Stax O Wax did both of my cousins weddings over the past 2 years and we were so impressed with them we decided to have them DJ our wedding. I wasn't very picky with music but wanted to make sure we added some "special" songs to our play list and they were so great and adding them in right at the prefect time of the night.

I married a man with 4 toddlers and we wanted to make sure we included them as much as possible so we had them each pick out a song to play...the kids LOVED that part and LOVED that the adults got up and danced to their songs...even to "Let It Go" from Frozen.

Throughout the evening the DJ came up to us to make sure everything was going good...and it was :) I appreciated him checking in!!

I would recommend Stax O Wax to anyone...they made our evening so special!!

Curt did an amazing job at our wedding! Their site was very easy to use. We chose songs that were not listed on their song lists (pre-processional, processional, and cake cutting song), and they secured them for us with no hesitation. Curt even gave us the option of having remixed our processional (Storybook Love Instrumental) (with us hearing it and giving our approval first :) to make it better fit the occasion. All of our must-have's were worked in, none of our banned songs were played, and he and his assistant checked back with us throughout the night to make sure we were happy and to see if we needed anything. We had guests dancing all night and a number of guests complemented me on how great the DJ was.

Curt was professional through out the entire process. Prior to the event we had access to a website which we could update at our leisure. He called the week of the wedding to confirm everything and then reviewed it with us again the day of. The dance floor was never empty. Everyone from grandma to our college friends enjoyed the night. My wife and I couldn't of asked for a better DJ service for our wedding. From all the lighting they did to dress up the room to working with us to do anything we wanted it was absolutely amazing. Our guest said that it was the best wedding reception they have ever been to. The dance floor was packed at all times. One of the biggest surprises was all the pictures that they took and posted them to Facebook it was like having a second photographer. If your looking for a great time at your wedding reception hands down you need to book these guys made our wedding night something we will never forget.

Stax O Wax did an amazing job at our wedding and we were so glad we went with them for our DJ! They were very quick to respond to questions during the planning process and we liked the online portal they use to keep track of your music requests for things like introductions, cake cutting, etc. Shawn was awesome to work with at our reception. He would check in with us from time to time and always checked if someone wanted him to make an announcement that we hadn't planned on. We didn't have too many special music requests so most of the music choices were his, and he did a great job. People were out dancing until the end of the night and I've received so many compliments from our guests about them. I would absolutely recommend Stax O Wax!

When I look back on my special day, I can only describe it as WOW. Shawn and Curt were able to grab the essence of what my husband and I were all about and wanted for the day. We were able to have so much fun on our day because the music was perfect in every way. I can't say enough thanks for Shawn and Curt. Our wedding was August 1, 2014. While waiting for our ceremony to begin, I was told by our venue that the father of the groom had not arrived yet and the ceremony would be forced to start without him due to the weather looking "ify" and dinner being on a tight schedule. Needless to say, I was sent into a panic. Shawn and Kurt also came to speak to me, but instead reassured me that the weather would hold up and everything was going to be ok.

From the second they got there, to playing the BEST dance music, to the time we were dancing the last dance, these guys were nothing but magnificent. From start to finish, they made sure that I had everything that I need, and that the night would go EXACTLY how I wanted it to go. They put so much time and effort into making the mood of the night fun, exciting, and relaxed. Couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Thanks guys!

Our wedding was on July 26, 2014. Stax O Wax helped to make our day truly amazing! They played exactly what we asked for and more! As soon as the dance floor opened, it was flooded with people. Many people even stayed until the last song. We received many compliments on the music and how much fun guests had at our wedding. I loved how John even got out on the dance floor with us to demonstrate a few group dances for those who didn't know the steps; it definitely bumped up our guests' participation! The service was impeccable and John and Shawn were always checking in to see if we needed anything or to let us know when our special requests were going to be played so we wouldn't miss them. Their set-up looked great and they matched their main lights to one of our wedding colors. The volume of all the music was perfect, even during our outside ceremony, and especially during our cocktail hour when guests were able to enjoy the music but still converse with each other. I would definitely recommend Stax O Wax!!!

Our wedding was on 7-11-14! STAX O WAX was AWESOME!!!! They played exactly what we asked and more! As soon as the dance floor opened, it was flooded with people! Many were dancing until the last song. People are still commenting about the music and how much fun they had! The service was great... always checking in to see if we needed anything or let us know if a request we had was about to be played to be sure we were in the room to hear it and not out taking pictures. Their set-up looked great! The volume was perfect! Plenty loud to dance and sing to, but also allowed our guests at older tables to visit if they wanted without screaming over the music. We enjoyed working with Stax o Wax for our June 2014 wedding. Shawn was great in keeping the timing of everything in place while we were distracted with our guests. Our main goal in choosing a DJ was that the dance floor would be packed the whole night... and it was! It was a dance party to remember. I was doing a lot of research for a DJ while preparing for my wedding. I live in Atlanta, GA and the wedding took place in Chicago, IL. So, I had a lot of skepticism about choosing a DJ that I could only plan with over the phone. I found Stax O Wax during a daily Google search and this company really made the best sense for me. It was in my price range and Curt, our event DJ, was very understandable of my living and wedding location situation. Curt and his expertise were beyond my and my husband's expectations. When I was searching for vendors for my wedding I was very skeptical of everyone. Stax o wax exceeded my expectations in every way. They were very quick at responding to emails, they were very helpful in helping me to plan, and the night of could not have been better. Shawn kept me ontime which was ggreat because it was easy to get caught up talking. Once the dancing started I am not sure I ever sat down. I danced all night. Stax o wax definitely gave me the party I was looking for!! I would recommend them to everyone I know without fear.

Curt and Shawn were the absolute best! Not only are they kind, professional and funny. But they were understanding and patient throughout the whole planning process. A big worry when planning a wedding is wondering if your guests are going to get out of their seats and have fun. I can attest that everyone was on the dance floor from the moment the party started until it ended. So much so in fact, that even after the last song played guests stuck around hoping the music might start up again. Brides and grooms, these are the guys for you!

Normally, I’m the type of person to just read reviews; however, in this case, I felt it necessary to write one. Shawn was INCREDIBLE! We first spoke with him the Monday before our wedding. He did a fantastic job of walking us through what to expect that evening, asking us what we wanted, and providing us with the necessary insight from his experiences to make this the most memorable night of our lives. Then, when we met him at the reception, he was extremely kind, friendly, calm, and professional. He came and checked up on us from time to time, kept tabs on the time, and made sure everything went exactly as we wanted. AND, just as important as all of that, he put together the most excellent song set! Being a musician myself for many years, and putting together countless live shows, I can attest to how important the selection and flow of songs is to the energy, feel, and tone of the entire night. Shawn was spot on with the song selection and flow. The crowd was up and dancing the entire night, having the time of their lives. Some of our friends, who we spoke with two weeks later, said that this wedding was the most fun wedding they have ever been to, and would love to do it again every single weekend. Shawn was great to work with, from the first phone call to the day of our wedding. He was very professional, gave us little "tips" throughout the evening so we wouldn't forget anything ( for example,reminding us to go from table to table to greet our guests). Stax O Wax was wonderful and I will direct my friends to use them in the future for their weddings. Curt patiently answered all of our questions as we planned our reception. He thoroughly reviewed all of the details of how the evening would flow and he gave great advice on what songs would make the dancing fun and continuous. FABULOUS! Stax o Wax may not been the most scenic office but they are great at what they do! Any questions I had during the planning process I received a quick reply (usually within an hour or two), and Curt helped us pick songs everybody likes to dance to! He had the dance floor packed all night! He even handled a problem we had with the venue! Definitely worth our time!

Don't waste your time doing your home work and looking up other DJs for your wedding. Stax O Wax is a must and we are SO happy we used them for our wedding this past Saturday. Curt and Shawn were always just an e-mail or phone call away whenever I had questions and were so quick to respond. We upgraded to have the lighted façade on our dance floor and it looked awesome with the rest of our room! Stax O Wax kept the night moving at a great pace and provided my husband and I wonderful tips of advice as we got closer to our wedding day. During our reception Curt was awesome about checking in with us, making sure everything was going how we wanted it and they did their job by keeping our dance floor packed all night. We wish we could do it again!

Stax O Wax was the DJ company for my now sister-in-law's wedding last December. Shawn did such a good job of getting everyone on the dance floor and "reading the crowd", that my husband and I guaranteed him for our own wedding. A few days before the wedding, he spent a good amount of time going over our song requests with me and asking questions. We were lucky to have both Managers DJ our wedding and to provide the uplighting. They were quick to respond to any email or question I had during the planning period and they gave very detailed answers. They have an easy to use web-site planning form to help you plan and organize the wedding,....loved that!!! The week before the wedding, they finalized all the plans with us to make sure everything would go smoothly and perfectly. They even helped us map out a reception time line. During the reception, they checked with us periodically to see how things were going and if there was anything they could do. They even took pictures which was fun to see a few days after the wedding. Overall, they were fantastic and I cannot be happier with the reception music and lighting!!!

We just had our wedding last Saturday. Curtis was our DJ and he is awesome!!! They made sure everything went smooth. The entire night they were at our beck and call. Our reception hall even messed up their dinners and they performed hungry ;) They go above and beyond. I would highly recommend them and will use them again in the future. Thanks guys.

Everything was absolutley WONDERFUL with Stax O Wax. From the very start to the very end. Both Curt & Shawn were so helpful with all of our planning, and responding to our million questions and requests we asked of them! We got the 2 star package, and everything looked amazing and 4 days before the wedding I needed a projector & screen and they were able to get it to me! Which was so awesome!! Stax O Wax did a fantastic job at my wedding reception! They were recommended by the reception hall as well as by my aunt, who had them do her wedding 15 years ago! I met with Shawn months in advance and was he able to work with my budget. We got the 2 star package and some up-lighting. My husband and I really wanted to have our say in what songs were (and weren't) played, so we spent hours planning with their online profile and playlists builder. The database had almost every song we wanted. A few days before the event, Curt, from Stax O Wax unexpectedly called. He informed us that he would DJ our event and he wanted to go over the playlist, party introductions, and order of events right then and there (Apparently, Curt's and my schedules conflicted so we couldn't figure a time to call back--this is the only reason I was tempted to deduct half a point for flexibility). Curt took pictures at the reception, with permission, to be displayed on Facebook. These turned out to be some of the first (and great) pictures we actually saw after the event, which was really cool! Everything went smoothly, he did a great job of keeping people dancing, everything sounded great, and the lighting effects were sufficient. Everyone had a great time!

Shawn was our DJ, and we really enjoyed working with him. He played a nice variety of songs that all of our guests enjoyed. The dance floor was packed all night with people from age 6 to 60. Shawn honored our “please play” list and our “do not play” list (even when guests requested some of the “do not play” songs at the reception). In addition, we had some unique requests from guests during the event. Shawn did a great job of checking in with us and also providing us with some guidance for responding to those requests based on his experience. I would definitely recommend Shawn and Stax O Wax to future brides!

Kurt is AMAZING!

If we did our wedding over again, I would book them in a heartbeat and ask them to replicate everything they did! They showed up EARLY! Set up EARLY! we got pictures from them before our photographer! I called him about 20 times with questions for the wedding and he helped with every single one (and half of them were not even about the DJ!)

Stax O Wax was great to work with from the very beginning. From the first inquiry my fiance and I sent, we were called not even an hour later from Stax O Wax eager to work with us. Shawn was wonderful. Absolutely responsive and helpful before the wedding. I felt relieved knowing that someone besides me knew how the timing of the reception should go! There was a great selection of songs online with a super easy way to put them on our play list-- but for the few that weren't on there, no problem-- Shawn had them for us. He totally got our sense of humor, totally respected how we wanted our reception to be, and even made sure that my mother-in-law's surprise serenade was going to be fun and cute (and not mortifying) before he gave her the mic! We never stopped dancing all night, and looking at the pictures now, I can't believe some of the random relatives who also partied all night long!

Shawn made the reception so so so much fun, I never had a worry or stopped smiling all night. What more can you ask!?!

After reading many reviews and listening to my Mother’s advice, (My Mother had used Stax o Wax when she remarried years after my Father had passed. She said they were phenomenal and weeks, months, and even years after her wedding she still received compliments on her DJ and everyone wanted to know who she used. She said to me, “Well, Shannon, they’ve been in business for almost 30 years so they must be doing something right”). I sent an email to get a quote on packages and within minutes I had a response and personal phone call. To put it simply, I was stunned at how quickly I was contacted and in that moment it was evident that Stax o Wax was all about customer service. After getting some questions answered, Dave and I made an appointment to meet with Curt of Stax o Wax. We were very impressed with all Stax o Wax had to offer and how down to earth and professional Curt was. On our drive home, Dave kept saying how impressed he was and said, “I don’t think we will find a better DJ company to go with”, and I couldn’t have agreed more. Within the next week we signed a contract with Stax o Wax and thus our journey began. We had our online planning and request forms that I was able to input and update our information up until the week before our wedding. I’m a Mother of an almost 16 month old and a teacher, so being able to do this on my own time and at my own pace was a lifesaver! Anytime I had a question, again, Curt or Shawn immediately answered any and all of my questions. The week of the wedding, Curt called me to go over all of my forms and to give me the run down of how the night would play out. Dave and I did choose the 5 star package and added lighting, and the video montage, so we knew we were going to have a night to remember! We did have Curt as our main DJ/MC and the whole evening ran without a hitch. Curt would check in with us throughout the night, and would make changes (per request); he was very accommodating and flexible. Our video montage turned out beautifully, and the great part is we have a copy of it to keep and show to our daughter, and future children! Our night was filled with great music, dancing, laughter, and irreplaceable memories! I speak for both my husband and myself when I say going with Stax o Wax DJ Productions was one of the best decisions we collectively made. During our reception and since our wedding, I have received so many compliments on our DJ and the music, and have heard I can’t remember when I had such a great time at a wedding, and I can’t believe how much fun and how beautiful the night has been. All of our guests and my husband and I had such a fun filled evening, which is what a wedding is all about! So, if you’re looking for a professional company that truly does value and put their customers first, answers any and all questions and responds to emails and phone calls within minutes, listens to your wants and needs, makes your night about you, keeps your guests entertained, puts on a phenomenal show, and has everyone out on the dance floor, then I HIGHLY recommend Stax o Wax DJ Productions for your upcoming event; we weren’t disappointed with them and I guarantee you won’t be either!

Just got back from my honeymoon (AWESOME!!!!), and needed to write this... Stax of Wax did such a great job for me that I couldn't even imagine having anyone else. We had our ceremony outside in the gazebo, and they did the music and helped get the bridal party down the aisle all at the right time. That didn't happen at rehearsal!

When I got to our reception, the room was beautiful! The LED lights matched my bridesmaids dresses and cake perfectly! The reception was everything I hoped it would be. Everyone danced and had so much fun. I was hearing comments from my family all night about how great the DJ was. Thank you SOOOOOO much!

Stax O Wax DJ - what can we say but "FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!!!!!". We've been to numerous weddings & venues were Stax O Wax were the entertainment and they've yet to disappoint. Never has there been a time when they didn't have the party up and dancing. The lighting used to highlight the room was just wonderful and colors were custom designed to match our wedding theme. John & I can't thank Stax of Wax enough. They were incredible to work with. Anytime I called or emailed, they were right there to answer. I wish my photographer and florist were as professional. They played all the music I wanted, and they really know how to keep the party going. I also had them do the uplighting, which made my room look beautiful. Stax is the best! I will be happy to speak to anyone that would like a referral.

We had a great DJ who knew how to keep the dance floor going. Everyone had so much fun! I think one of the big keys to a great party is the music, and Curt nailed it. He also MC'ed for us, which really helped me keep on a schedule and not have to worry about anything at all during the reception. I have absolutely no negative feedback and am really glad we hired Stax O Wax.

From the very beginning of choosing a dj for my wedding, I knew it was going to be Stax O Wax. My family has had them at every family function for as long as I can remember, weddings, graduations, and even my parents 25th anniversary. They have never let us down. No matter who the dj has been, they have always gotten my family on the floor. They really do a fantastic job. So when I wanted them for my wedding, everyone in my family was excited. They knew they were going to have a good time, and they did. My husbands family, who have never seen them before, were raving about how great the djs were, and how much fun they had. I will always recommend Stax O Wax to anyone that is in need of a dj.

Stax O Wax, Was outstanding they played to the crowd and it was magical how they kept everyone on the dance floor. They asked me several times through the night how I thought things were going and I really appreciated that. We choose to have additional uplighting around the entire room and that was worth it,the room looked amazing.We had both Curt and Shawn at our wedding and that was special as I know that they are the best and I,m not sure they are usually able to do that. I would highly recommend Stax O Wax as they are as professional as you will ever find and a pleasure to share the night with and thats very important. Thanks to them our evening was perfect!!!!!!

I used Stax o wax for my dream Valentine's wedding. It was perfect. They helped me when I couldn't think of songs for my ceremony and reception. Their suggestions were incredible. The ceremony music & sound was perfect. I was worried that it wouldn't sound that good because we were having it at my reception hall, but Sean said that it would be just the way that i dreamed, and it was. My room looked so beautiful with all the uplighting that they provided. Everyone danced all night, even my aunt was out there with her cane dancing with us to LMFAO. Stax o wax is the best, and I am so glad I used them.

Curt and Shawn at Stax O Wax were the greatest. When I would panic and needed guidance they were there to help. The music for the ceremony, reception and dinner were fantastic. Our guests really had a great time. I would use them again anytime. And their price was reasonable by comparison.

Stax o wax was phenomenal!! They were extremely attentive to our requests throughout the entire planning process. They made the flow of the night perfect and I felt completely relaxed and comfortable the entire night. The dance floor remained filled the entire evening. They knew exactly what to play to keep the party going. They also provided us with beautiful lighting to make our room really pop. Shaun and Curt were absolutely wonderful to work with and I will highly recommend them to anyone I can! Outstanding!! They made my wedding night a night I will never forget:)

I have been to weddings and parties that stax o wax have been to.. Infact they did such a great job at my first wedding 10 years ago , that my husband and I decided to hire them for our 2nd wedding ! They were outstanding ! They did our ceremony and did a beautiful job working with our minister on fading the music in and out... During our reception, they kept the crowd going and kept the floor packed, at one time the floor was so packed that my husband & I had moved to the carpet side of the banquet room to start dancing.. We did get the package with the stax o wax dinner show , and YES it was amazing ! Thanks again stax o wax for a outstanding job at our wedding ! You ROCKED !!!

For our New Years Eve wedding my husband & I knew we had to have a fantastic DJ, and we had seen Stax-o-wax at a friends wedding over 2years before, I am so glad we had them for ours!

The music was amazing, the DJ's ensured that they knew that we were enjoying it, asked me multiple times if I needed anything. They were delightful!! Even when our videographer was being a pain, they remained professional and didn't even let me know there was an issue!! I am extremely grateful for that!

At midnight Stax-o-wax got everybody on to the dance floor, we did the count down and they dropped confetti all over us!! It was amazing and so unique!! Our guests loved it!!

Thank you for everything!!! I highly recommend you!!

When I got engaged I knew instantly that I wanted Stax-O-wax for our DJ. They have been in business for years, and have been hired to do weddings for our family a few times, so I had seen them in action before. My fiance had never heard of them but after meeting both Shawn and Curt (owners) on our first meeting he was all game, and ready to sign a contract on the spot.
They had a plethora amount of music to choose from, so much in fact we decided to only choose the songs that we did not want played (chicken dance, hoki-pokie). If there was something that we wanted and we did not see on the huge list, they were willing to purchase it from I-Tunes. We decided to let the professionals do what we hired them to do!!!!!
We hired them to play the music for our ceremony, play at our reception and have up-lights put in our venue. We were so happy with our choices. During our cocktail hour they played e-z listening music that led up to the dinner performance that people were able to be entertained as dinner was being served. As my new husband and I looked over our guests we could see the amazement and joy on their faces, dinner was finally not a bore at a wedding.
We did not have to worry at all when we opened the dance floor with our first dance. Shawn and Curt played the music and our guests LOVED THEM !!!!!!! They would check periodically to see how we thought things were going and to keep things on track and told us when certain songs were coming up that we needed or wanted to know about.
These are actual comments from our guests that at 6 months later we are still hearing."Who were the DJ's at your wedding", "That was the best wedding we have been to in a long time", "Those DJ's that you had were great we danced all night", "the dinner performance that they DJ's did was awesome", "We could have kept dancing".
So my friends in my opinion the music at your wedding or any event that you may be having really does make a difference. The decision of hiring Stax - O -Wax really was a no brainer to me. We were extremely happy, our guests were happy, and my new mother-in-law was so happy that the three of them had to take a picture together so she could show them off to friends that were unable to attend from S.C.

If you want your wedding to be a hit, HIRE THEM YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe my luck when I found my dj on the internet. I started looking at reviews and asking my friends if they knew any djs and 3 out of 4 said that I should check out Stax O Wax. I went to there website and asked for an online quote, and within minutes, I received a call from their staff. What service! That was what I got through the whole planning for my wedding. It was great! They are very nice to talk to, and very helpful.

I had Sean at my wedding as the dj, and he was incredible. He knew exactly what to do, and when to do it. I didn't have to worry about a single thing. Everyone danced, and he played all of the songs I requested. My wedding was so much fun. Stax O Wax is worth every penny.

Like many engaged couples my fiancée and I had a clear idea of how we wanted our wedding reception to be conducted and turn out and I am thrilled to say that Curt brought to fruition everything for which we had hoped. Stax O Wax accommodated each of our requests and took the time to painstakingly ensure that every detail was to our specifications from preparing our desired hue for the decor lighting to tracking down specific versions of songs that we requested. Curt was also completely adherent to our lengthy play and do not play lists. Throughout the planning process and the night of the event Curt worked well with the other vendors and made an effort to check in with us to verify that things were just as we wanted and he also sought feedback to see if there was anything that we wished to change as the night went on. There was no need to change anything though since he gave us exactly what we wanted. I highly recommend Stax O Wax and plan to use them again for future events.

Working with Stax O Wax was a delight from start to finish. I was impressed when I received a friendly and professional call right after placing a quote request through their website, and their online song selection system was fantastic.

At the reception itself, everything was absolutely perfect. Curt was a terrific emcee and a friendly and reassuring presence for all of us as we navigated through the entrances, toasts, special dances, cake cutting, and more.

Curt's song selection was flawless and diverse and facilitated a great time for everyone. Many, many guests commented that they had never had such a good time at a wedding.

I can't recommend Stax O Wax strongly enough!

I was referred to Stax o wax by two other people and I am so glad i choose them!!!! There are so many companies out there~word of mouth is the best reference! They made everything so easy and it all ran so smoothly, I had nothing to woory about! We got married on friday Spt 9, 2011 and our first venue ended up closeing, but that wasnt a problem for them~they just followed us whereever we wanted to go! The music was excellent and everyone got to hear a variety of whatever they wanted! Very friendly people too! They are so organized, that you dont have to be! I will deffinately be telling anyone I know that is getting married about them!

These guys were FANTASTIC!!! Seriously the best DJ company that I've seen. We had Shawn and Curt, both of the owners, playing at my wedding and everyone was raving about them and continues to. Already I have 2 of my wifes gf's who are getting married soon wanting to book them. The music was great, the mixes were awesome, and they were always there checking up making sure we were having fun which I see as extremely important. I know a lot of DJ's play that "traditional cheesy DJ Music" for weddings. Everything we had that night was new, my age group (27) and had everyone on the Floor. The floor was packed the whole night too which I was surprised with my family....so double great job to them! Definitely worth it!

We hired Stax O Wax for our wedding on August 6, 2011 and it was our goal to have the most fun wedding/party ever. Shawn and Nick certainly helped us do that! From the get go Shawn was very friendly, personable and easy to work with. He responded in a very timely manner to any questions we had leading up to the wedding and provided lots of helpful insight and suggestions to some of the things we wanted to do.

From the start of the reception to the very end, Shawn and Nick were awesome! They started the dance off by getting everyone on the dance floor and kept them there the entire night. Shawn and Nick incorporated a variety of music that appealed to everyone. We had many people say that it was literally impossible to leave the dance floor because every time they tried another good song would come on. Shawn and Nick truly took our reception to the next level and gave us the party we wanted.

Hiring Stax O Wax for our wedding was easily one of the best decisions we ever made. In addition to creating an awesome atmosphere, that many of our friends said felt more like a club than a wedding, Shawn's attention to detail and preparedness prior to the wedding made for a flawless reception. A DJ can make or break a wedding, so if you want a wedding where people walk away and say that was one of the best and most fun weddings they have been to I would hire Stax O Wax. That's response we got and we can't give Shawn and Nick enough thanks and credit for making our day so fun and memorable.

Stax O Wax is the most amazing DJ vendor! If you have been looking for a DJ that will make your wedding or party a hit, then these are your guys. My husband and I waited 14 yrs to get married. Honestly the biggest reason was that we were afraid of how it would work out when we got our families together. His family is very traditional Mexican, and mine is American. Two completely different music expectations. We met with Shawn, and he was confident that he could make it work. We hired him, but were still really nervous about how it was going to work. 4 days before the wedding we had every detail worked out, except the music. Stax O Wax gave us access to their site which has a great song planner guide, and sent us several reminders to fill it out, but we just kept putting it off because we were so
nervous about mixing the two musics together. Shawn met with us in person and we went through everything together step by step. We really felt better after that meeting. On our wedding day, everything was perfect. Shawn was very attentive the whole evening. He really cared about our comfort
as well as our guests. He was so perceptive as to which music to play. By the middle of the wedding, EVERYONE was on the dance floor! It was amazing! Shawn was excellent! I would recommend him to
anyone who wants to throw an event that people will talk about forever. I also want to add that we chose to use the uplighting provided by Stax O Wax, and it was fantastic! We were married at our venue, and used the uplighting for our reception. It truly changed the look and feel of the room. Everyone loved it!

You will be blown away when you hire Stax O Wax. We had Shawn and Nick for my daughter's wedding and they were FABULOUS! We had at least 20 people say they are going to hire them for their next event and EVEN MORE people comment on how funny and entertaining they were. They played a great mix, were funny, personable, professional and most of all listened to the bride and did whatever she wanted. We were so entertained during dinner which is usually a pretty dull time waiting for your food to be delivered, but we had Shawn and Nick entertaining us throughout the dinner and we were all cracking up and singing along. It was amazing. You won't be sorry when you hire them, you will be the talk of the town. A good DJ can really "make" the reception. We had a full dance floor, with all age groups out there ALL NIGHT. Best decision ever. Thanks to them, my daughter's dreams came true, a fabulous reception.

Hiring Stax O Wax was the best thing we did during our wedding planning! From the beginning to the end they made it comfortable, easy, and just the way we wanted. We would not only recommend them, but also plan on using them again for any future music needs. Our wedding was 6-26-11, and we have been getting so many wonderful comments from family and friends!
Shawn, and his son, were such a big part of making our day wonderful...we cannot thank them enough!

Curt and Shawn were the DJ's for our wedding on 7-2-11. They were AMAZING!!!!! We had many many many compliments. They came highly recommended to us and now we will always highly recommend them. I used Stax O Wax for my Wedding back in 1999. They were wonderful. We have used them three times for our family's weddings. I had Stax O Wax for our wedding reception and would highly recommend them to everyone!! Curt was our DJ and did a phenomenal job!! He was always a step ahead. Curt called the week of the wedding and double-checked everything, and wanted to make sure it would be what I wanted it to be. Curt gave me good advice about how to keep the night going smooth and keep everyone happy. He communicated with me throughout the whole night and I had so many compliments from my guests at how fun it was. I again would highly recommend Stax O Wax, they do such an incredible job!

Stax-O-Wax was a great idea!!! I got a recommendation from them through my sisters friend. Curt discussed all my song choices with me, pointed out which songs would leave the dance floor empty and which would get it rocking. I really really appreciate him being 100% honest with me. Curt was professional and very flexible, as he has to set up twice b/c there was miss-communication on my part. Thank for making my ceremony and reception a blast!!!

I used Stax O Wax for my wedding this past weekend. Shawn was my DJ and I could not be happier with the job he did. Not only was he a great DJ, he also did a great job making sure the reception ran smoothly. He was always very helpful to me and my husband and made sure we knew what to expect throughout the reception. It was very reassuring to know that we had someone taking care of all the little things to make our reception wonderful. We have had so many compliments on our wedding and everybody had a blast dancing! I highly recommend Stax O Wax!
