Colleen Sent on 10/09/2017My fiancé purchased my Hearts on Fire engagement ring at State Street Jewlers and we both have nothing but great things to say about the entire experience. He worked with primarily Laura, but Jeff and Martha also helped throughout the process as well and all of them helped to find the most perfectly fitting ring for me.
State Street is the only jewelry store I will ever use hands down! Every single person who works there is extremely helpful, honest, and knowledgeable of all of their products and will work with you to get the best, high quality jewlery without making you go over your budget. -

Over it. Never going back.
I have been a loyal customer of State Street Jewelers since I moved here in 2021, along with my parents and siblings. I purchased my wedding band from them and have consistently brought my engagement ring (a white gold, diamond-encrusted band) in for maintenance. Over the years, I’ve experienced multiple issues with repairs—always met with excuses that seemed circumstantial at the time. But now, I’m fed up.
If you look at the photo with the circled stones—no, those aren’t missing diamonds. They’re so deeply embedded into the metal and misaligned that they look missing. That’s just one example of their poor craftsmanship.
I have lost several diamonds from my ring, almost always within one to four months after a repair (see the other two photos of the three missing again), despite paying extra to have the prongs “improved.” Each time, I was told it must be from washing dishes or showering with it on. I NEVER do that. I’m extremely careful with my ring, especially because I kept losing stones. Yet, after paying for multiple replacements and supposed prong fixes, I recently needed a simple resize.
When I picked it up two weeks later, it was too small. They corrected the mistake, but instead of offering any discount or acknowledging the unnecessary stress on the ring’s integrity, they gave me a BOGO coupon for a glass of champagne at a local restaurant—as if that somehow makes up for years of expensive, faulty repairs I was repeatedly assured would fix the issues.
At this point, after spending so much money on repairs and preventive measures, I can no longer trust State Street with my jewelry. Their lack of accountability and consistently subpar workmanship have completely eroded my confidence in them. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone who values quality craftsmanship and reliable service.

We purchased my ring from State Street Jewelers several years ago when we lived in Geneva. We had a wonderful experience with Heather as she personally selected my engagement ring diamond from Antwerp and communicated well with my husband to choose the perfect stone for my ring.
However, my most recent experience was very disappointing. We were transferred out of state a couple years ago and return frequently to visit family. A couple days before Christmas in 2023 we stopped in to have my ring cleaned at State Street jewelers The employee at State Street took my ring to the jeweler and after examining my ring said that my ring needed a prong on the main stone needed repair, as well as some repairs were needed on the channel setting of the wedding band. They quoted us over $500 in repairs on my ring. We decided to wait to get it repaired until we got home since we were leaving in a few days. We planned to go to the jeweler we have been using and trust for the past seven years. My ring was carefully examined by our home jeweler when we brought it in for repairs, and they assured us after a thorough examination that there is nothing wrong with my band or the prongs on my stone. They said NO REPAIRS were necessary at all on my ring.
State Street has a history of being a wonderful, trusted jeweler In the Geneva and Tri-City community. I suggest getting a second opinion If you are doing repairs with them.
I am extremely disappointed as I was so excited to come back in there after being away for a while. I believed them when they said my ring needed repairs. Had we not been leaving in a couple days I probably would’ve left my ring with them to do the “repairs” they said that I needed.
Be careful and always get a second opinion! You may want to shop around before buying with State Street. It seems like they’ve changed since we purchased with them years ago.
