When I reached out to Starry night bakery, I was overwhelmed with the quotes I was receiving from other vendors. Shannon answered to my message almost immediately. Giving her my vision she was very confident that she could make that happen for us. We set up a tasting and her talent definitely shined through her desserts. We ended up having a very big dessert table. Our guest still table about the desserts. The price was within reason and a no brainer when it came time to book Starry Night. You can't go wrong with booking them!

Best Bakery ever!!
We chose Starry Night Bakery because we decided to do an assortment of treats and a small tier wedding cake at our wedding. I worked with the owner, Shannon, who was so incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. She had the best recommendations on the most popular assortment of mini desserts. We had so many compliments from guests that they loved all the desserts! Their staff set everything up the day of and made our day so perfect! Highly recommend them!!

Amazing local bakery!
We used Starry Night for our wedding dessert and were so impressed! They were able to squeeze us into their schedule even though we contacted them pretty last minute. We loved both our cutting cake and then larger cakes for our guests, so much so that my mom has been talking about it since the wedding :). We will use Starry Night for events in the future!

We chose Starry Night Bakery because we decided to do an assortment of treats instead of the traditional wedding cake at our wedding. I worked with the owner, Shannon, to determine how many individual treats to get, the variety to select, and how it could and should all be set up. Shannon was fantastic to work with, and we ended up with a wide range of treats from mini cheesecakes to eclairs to cannolis to cookies to pies and more . The assortment looked BEAUTIFUL and we had so many compliments from guests that loved the options and flavors they got to try. Their staff set everything up the day of and made it really easy and stress free for me as well. I would highly recommend!

If you are a local you know, it’s Starry Night Bakery, how can you go wrong? We used Starry Night for our wedding in 12/2022 and it was amazing. We got 400 treats for a guest count of 103 people all for about $750. And the desserts were amazing! So yummy. We made our favors little boxes to take the left-over treats to go but there really weren’t that many left over to take home! They were a hit! 10/10 would recommend. They even came and set up the display, we just had to return the stands within a week after the wedding. Seriously, no complaints.

Delicious Desserts!
We did a dessert table instead of a cake, and everything was absolutely amazing! We ordered chocolate chip cookies, cannoli, mini lemon cream pies, mini blueberry pies, peanut butter chocolate cups, and chocolate mousse chocolate cups. Everything was absolutely delicious, and we had multiple guests comment on how incredible the desserts were.
My only complaint (if this would count as a complaint) is that the recommended number to order was too small. I think everyone got enough, but we certainly didn't have any extras—too many of our guests kept going back for more!! So definitely hire Starry Night for your desserts, but be sure to order more than you think you'll need!!

Cakes beyond our wildest dreams!
Starry Night Bakery was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The owner Shannon, answered all of our questions and helped me to arrange for a surprised groom's cake! Our cake was stunning, delicious, and looked exactly like the reference photos we sent over. However, it PALES in comparison to the groom's cake. I sent some photos over for reference, but holy cow, what was delivered was truly exceptional and better than the photos I sent to be honest. My husband was surprised by the cake, but beyond impressed with the attention to detail. So many people were dying to know where I got the cake from and I was more than willing to refer them to Starry Night and Shannon.
If you need a delicious cake, a detailed cake, a cake better than the reference photos, Starry Night is the bakery for you!

The best cake/cupcakes ever!
Honestly, some of the most delicious cupcakes and cake I’ve ever had! We were able to do the tasting process from home due to the early quarantine in 2020, which was so easy! The team at Starry Night were so easy to work with and super responsive. The finished product on our wedding day was SO GOOD. Our cutting cake was absolutely beautiful, and tasted amazing too! And our guests raved about the cupcakes! I will 100% head to Starry Night for my future cake/cupcake needs!

I needed to change bakeries after I learned that I needed to avoid gluten. Starry Night had a wonderful variety of gluten free options and was always cognizant about not having cross contamination. We had a gluten free cake with regular mini dessert options. It tastes wonderful!

Starry Night Bakery was a dream to work with. They moved our order dates as we navigated through COVID and were so helpful each time we needed to make changes. We even had to decrease the number of cupcakes ordered a week before the wedding and they had no issues with doing so. Every time I sent an email or called, I got a response quickly (and kindly!). Everything turned out way better than we expected since we only got to see a sketch of the cake we designed at our tasting. When it came to fruition, it was absolutely beautiful! I would definitely recommend using SNB to anyone looking for delicious desserts as well as great customer service.

We loved Starry Night Bakery!
We loved Starry Night Bakery! We had a small cutting cake and cupcakes for our wedding on May 8, 2021. We got a super cute succulent-themed cutting cake and it turned out exactly how we wanted it (and it tasted delicious!). We had such a hard time choosing the cupcake flavors because they were all so fun and unique. Many guests told us how delicious our cupcakes were. Shannon was so easy to work with and was very flexible when we continued to postpone and change our plans through COVID. We are so happy that we went with this small local business. Amazing Keto Cake!
My husband and I eloped so we were just looking for a small cake to share between the two of us. Starry Night Bakery had a variety of keto options- and I wasn't even expecting to be able to have a wedding cake at all due to my dietary restrictions!
They were flexible and accommodating when I needed to change the pickup time due to our courthouse appointment time changing. We got the 6" round spice cake with caramel cream cheese filling and vanilla cream cheese frosting. It was not only delicious but it looked beautiful. Might sound cheesy, but I could tell they cared about the final product and that meant a lot. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area.

Starry Night was recommended to us by one of my mom’s clients and we weren’t disappointed. They were able to work with my dairy allergy and make a vegan cake for my husband and I while making the rest of the cupcakes normally. They also were able to take one of their vegan flavors (Chai Tea) and make it the normal way without losing any flavor. I highly recommend the chocolate cake with orange buttercream as well! All of our guests were asking where the cupcakes came from.

Starry Night Bakery was super easy to work with, and the results were delicious! We are pretty laid back and just wanted a small cutting cake and a couple flavors of cupcakes. We did a tasting where an employee walked us through all the different flavors and fillings, and helped us choose every detail of our cake and cupcakes. We even added a half dozen dairy-free cupcakes for a guest with allergies. They were very reasonably priced when compared with other bakeries. On the Big Day, they delivered the cakes to our venue without me even noticing them (a lot was going on!) and set up a beautiful display. We rented stands from them, and while we were on our honeymoon my parents returned the stands. Super easy for us and the guests loved them!

I cannot stop raving about Starry Night!
Right off the bat from our tasting with Starry Night, my husband and I knew we had made the right choice. Not only were their cakes delicious, but their customer service was excellent. Because we booked so far in advance (almost a year in advance), we got the rental of our cupcake stands included at no additional cost! The day of the wedding they delivered and set up all the cupcakes and our cake for cutting, and it turned out beautifully. The cupcakes were a hit (chocolate salted caramel was the first to go, highly recommend!) and I can’t wait to go back on our year anniversary to pick up a replica of our cake! Starry Night completely knocked it out of the park. If you’re getting married in the Frederick/Mt. Airy area I would recommend them a million times over!

We absolutely loved how our wedding cake turned out, and it was soooo delicious. We had 3 different flavors- a flavor for each tier- and all 3 were highly loved! My husband and I decided to do a 6" cutting cake and assorted cupcakes for our wedding dessert. Starry Night Bakery was a wonderful vendor for us. They accommodated our need for a second tasting, amended the contract a couple times when needed and there weren't any cupcakes left over after the reception. I would say that is a win! Everything was well organized, professional when it came to utilizing their website, requesting time, and cake flavors. Quality of service was great when we visited to taste the cupcakes and work out what we were picturing. We picked three different flavors for our tiers all of them beautiful. The cake was delivered with no problem and it was delicious!! The part that made them stand out the most, was the addition of being able to have a free cake for our one year wedding anniversary. Starry Night Bakery knocked it out of the park with our cupcakes and single-tier cake! We had a total of six different cupcake flavors and one flavor in particular was gone in an instant! The chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes were the first flavor to go! I would highly recommend that flavor in particular. Their professionalism was impeccable as well. They were able to deliver the cupcakes and cake and set-up the arrangement as well in a very tasteful manner. I would highly recommend hiring them and I will definitely be going back to their bakery to eat more of their delicious cupcakes!

Lovely cake and a very responsive team!
Everyone we talked to at Starry Night Bakery was so helpful and polite. My fiancé at the time had to attend the tasting alone and make some decision without me. With minimal direction, they made and decorated a beautiful 2 tiered cake and cupcakes. They were flexible and patient in waiting for us to decide our cupcake flavors. We were also late in returning they cupcake stand and they were understanding about it. Highly recommend!

I have ordered a lot of things from starry night over the years. So when it came time to plan my wedding it was a no brainer that I would get my cake from them! I absolutely loved our wedding cake from Starry Night! The price was hard to beat, design exactly what I imagined, and they were incredibly flexible when I needed to change my guarantee two weeks ahead of time. They have unique flavors that pleased even those who don't care for cake to the point were we over-ordered just a bit and still came back with only one or two pieces leftover. I remember thinking the cake was a tiny bit dry during the tasting but still delicious, but on the day of, there was absolutely no chance anyone would describe it that way - it was baked to perfection. I don't think they do fondant, which was fine with me because I prefer buttercream, but my wedding was in March so we didn't worry about a melting cake. I highly recommend this wonderful little bakery!

Our wedding planner did the majority of the communicating with Starry Night, but on taste and presentation - 5 stars! We tried a couple other bakeries before decided on Starry Night. Absolutely delicious. The tasting was of course, my favorite part of wedding planning planning! We went with 4 flavors of cupcakes, and a cutting cake. We chose Maple French Toast, Red Velvet, Chocolate Orange, and Lemon. The cutting cake was lemon as well. All of the icings were yummy, and our whole setup was just lovely. The cupcakes were moist and the perfect amount of sweet. Reasonably priced, and from what I understand, friendly and responsive. We got lots of compliments! Definitely recommend.

Starry Night Bakery has the most delicious cakes and cupcakes that you could ever ask for. We have used them for birthdays, bridal showers, and now we used them for our wedding. For the price and the quality, this place was fantastic! We tried a few other bakeries/bakers, but Starry Night gave us the flexibility we wanted at a very reasonable price. They even worked with a florist nearby to pick up greenery the day before our wedding to place as decoration on the main cake. We ordered our wedding cake in a couple different flavor combinations, vegan cupcakes and chocolate tartlets. The icing is not too sugary and the cake was very moist!
We opted not to save our top tier, and I plan to drive almost an hour to pick up a small replication for our anniversary. It was that good.

I used Starry Night Bakery for my September wedding at Antrim 1844 and I could not be happier with their services! We went to a few tastings at Baltimore bakeries but we weren't excited by their cakes or the high cost they charged to bring a cake out to Taneytown, MD. My Mother in Law had tried cakes from Starry Night before so we decided to give them a try. While they were the only place that charged for a tasting, that minor cost was well-worth the service we received!
Amber met with us promptly and provided samples of several cakes, frostings and fillings. She showed us an album of wedding cakes and we discussed my idea for the cake (edible fall leaves and acorns cascading down the cake).
I felt so confident in Starry Night that I never contacted them again to go over the plans. They seemed to know exactly what to do, and on our wedding day I saw that they had created exactly what I was looking for in a wedding cake. Everyone raved about how beautiful and delicious it was!
I am also impressed by the fact that they offer vegan cakes, as my Maid of Honor is vegan so we set aside a few vegan cupcakes for her.

Starry Night was amazing! From the tasting to eating the cake the day of the wedding, the service and quality were amazing! We loved working with them. They were able to take a concept and draw something that looked perfect. The cake that was delivered the day of the wedding exceeded our expectations! It was beautiful and got a lot of complements! On top of that, it was DELICIOUS! I didn't know wedding cakes could taste that good. We had unique flavors and all were so great! Everything was perfect!!

Starry Night did a tiered cupcake display and small cake topper for our wedding. The tasting was AWESOME, Shannon was super laid back and great to work with in explaining everything to us (ie. how many flavors to do, a good mix of flavors). All the cupcakes we tried were SO good we had a hard time choosing. We rented the stand through the bakery, they delivered to the venue, and made it super easy on us. Thanks again, Starry Night! We'll be back for treats :)

Starry Night Bakery made our cake and cupcakes for our 8/16/14 wedding and they were beautiful! The whole setup was amazing and they made the cake exactly to our specifications. We had our initial taste testing and despite our difficulties in choosing what we wanted (everything was so good) they were extremely patient and accommodating. The cake was delicious and the cupcakes were a great option for those guests that did not want a piece of cake or wanted to take their dessert with them. They also came and set up the cake and cupcake display which turned out perfect.
I would definitely recommend them for a wedding or any other event that requires a great dessert.

I cannot explain how AWESOME Starry Night Bakery is! I got married two weeks ago and they did our wedding cake. It was absolutely perfect. Shannon and her staff executed our design perfectly and were so accommodating during the planning process (helping to decide what kind of cake stand to buy, how big of a topper to get, etc.). Our guests loved the cake, and thankfully we have some left over to continue to enjoy :) We did 3 different flavors, and everyone said how good the cake was! Not too sweet, honestly just perfect. And if I can be biased, almond cake all the way!
Thank you for making what was an important part of my day just wonderful!

I highly reccommend Starry Night Bakery. Shannon, the owner of the shop, was super helpful and flexible with ideas for the cake for our wedding. We had a wedding with over 250 guests. Shannon suggested we do a three tiered cake for approx. 100 people and then have sheet cakes that could be cut and served to the rest of the guests since she knew we were worried about the cost. Shannon also helped us design the cake. Our wedding reception was at a Children's Museum so we new we wanted something fun and crazy to go along with the museum. Shannon designed a colorful, unique cake just for us. And she let us choose various flavors for the sheet cakes at no additional charge. At the end of the night I asked the caterer how much cake was left and they pointed to a table with about a dozen pieces on it where my aunts were packing up those pieces to take with them. All of the cake was eaten! Our guests loved the different flavors and thought it was delicious.
We also ended up doing our wedding favors with Starry Night. We decided on cookies in the shape of our cake and decorated to look just like it. The cookies were delicious and very cute.
Overall both the cookies and cake from Starry Night Bakery were very reasonably priced. Shannon was very helpful and quick to respond to my emails.

Shannon at Starry Night was extremely flexible in working with us, and Starry Night's cupcakes are delicious (I don't have much of a sweet tooth) and working with Shannon is extremely fun. We ordered 72 cupcakes, and a big cupcake for the bride and groom. My husband is a neuroscientist, so we asked for fondant brains on our cupcake - Shannon loves kooky and unusual, she'll make your idea happen! She advises you exactly how to store, when to display, and helped us on the display ideas. I'm thankful we have such a great baker in our hometown. I recommend Starry Night Bakery without reservation - if you are getting cupcakes or any cake anywhere in the Baltimore area, I'd go with them.

My husband and I were very pleased with the price of our wedding cake before we tasted it, and after we had some, we felt like we were getting away with something.
We ended up with a pretty simple cake (a three-tier peanut butter cake with chocolate mousse filling for all of the tiers. American buttercream frosting with French buttercream embellishment) and it was the single most amazing cake I have ever eaten in my entire life. My guests still tell me (8 months later) how much they enjoyed my wedding cake.
We chose our cake design based off of a photo from one of the albums that the bakery had on site and made a few color alterations to it (basing the buttercream color off of our sage green invitations which they matched very well). However, after looking through the books, looking at other treats in the bakery, and working with the staff, I'm convinced that there is no design that they can't handle (and would probably enjoy some quirky or non-conventional ideas very openly).
Also, we didn't have to worry about freezing any cake for our anniversary because the bakery will give us an anniversary cake in our flavors a year later which I prefer very much to figuring out how to preserve a top tier.
The only advice I would have pertains to the tasting:
There are TONS of really unique and delicious flavors to choose from, but you only get to select 5 cake and 5 filling flavors for a tasting, so choose wisely! Don't waste your time with yellow cake or chocolate (unless your heart is set on it) so you can maximize your unique flavor choices. Also, when you arrive at the tasting, they'll have already matched fillings to cake flavors however they feel presents them best, so if you wanted to mix and match, you have to fish fillings off the tops of cake or scoop cake out from underneath, but you're eating cake the whole time, so it's not the end of the world.

I wanted 5 different round cakes instead of one big wedding cake, with a unique flavor for each cake. After tasting cakes a few places in Baltimore we made the trek out to Westminster on a friend's recommendation and were blown away by the cake flavors at Starry Night. We had such a hard time narrowing it down to 5 flavors! In the end we chose Dark Chocolate Strawberry, Cranberry Carrot, Key Lime Coconut Twist, Cannoli, and Caramel Pecan Butterscotch. MMMMMMMM, the chocolate was my favorite, everyone at the wedding was raving about the cake, and everyone had multiple pieces. The cakes looked great too, I just wanted simple designs, very natural looking. And NO fondant! They were perfect!

The Cake was so good! I had lots of compliments from guests after wedding of how much they loved the cake. The best part was the varietly and unique flavors they offer that many bakeries dont. We had three layers of different cakes my favorite being the mango cake with a strawberry filling. It was to die for. And the decorations were beautiful. This bakery was AWESOME! My cake looked and tasted incredible! I cannot say enough good things about this place. I had to book a bakery at the very last minute because my "plan A" backed out just 5 months before my wedding and I had a terrible time finding someone new. I wanted a "mad hatter" topsy turvy cake and every where I went wanted to charge me a fee that would make most people cry. Then somehow I stumbled upon Starry Night Bakery. They are a small bakery in Westminster MD, but they are capble of GREAT things. The owner/wedding coordinator meet with my husband and myself and helped us to desing the cake that we had been trying to put together (and just couldn't seem to make work) and gave a price that was within our budget (and what we thought this cake should run us). We booked and put a deposit at the end of the first meeting.
We even we back for dessert platters for our reahersal dinner. This is one of the few things that once booked went without a single problem.
They did charge a $75 delivery and setup fee but we didn't feel that was unresonable as our wedding was in Gettysburg PA. And the cake was a bit "crazy"

Their prices are much lower than much of their competition, but the taste of everything was amazing! So many guests complimented the delicious and beautiful cake, the creative and tasty cupcakes, and our sugar cookie favors! Everything was exactly the way we discussed it, the colors were perfect, and everything was delivered and set up nicely! Sometimes in the bakery it was not the most professional and there was some confusion when it wasn't the manager in the bakery, but it was totally worth it and the manager was great! I would absolutely recommend this vendor!

We met with Shannon a little more than a year from my wedding. Prior to meeting with her we were given a list of cake and icing flavors as well as filling flavors to choose from. On the day of our tasting we were provided with cupcakes of each favor as well as small dishes of each filling and icing so that we could mix and match. After tasting all the yummy combinations, Shannon helped us design our cake. She had a photo album and listened to our options about the cakes pictured there and used that information to come up with exactly what we wanted! She allowed for payments over time and offered to store our cake topper once we purchased it. Our cake was beautiful and so delicious! We received many compliments about it! Starry Night has become my bakery of choice!

Outstanding bakery
Starry Night worked with us to undestand our vision, bridge our differences and deliver such a beautiful, unique wedding cake that was the talk of our reception. And it was beyond delicious! Can't recommend them enough.

Shannon was a pleasure to work with. She was able to take things that I like and things my fiance liked and come up with a concept for us quickly. She also made a specific type of cake that we requested without questioning us. No matter what I requested or changed, she rolled with it and never once made me feel that I was a nuisance.

We received and absolutely delicious cake for hundreds less than other bakeries. The baker was extremely flexible with the look of the cake and delivered just what we asked for. Highly recommended.

My cake was absolutely delicious. We chose to do one small cake for photos, and had 2 additional sheet cakes. Almond & Vanilla, Red Velvet Cake with Chocolate Mousse, and Apple spice cake with Cinnamon frosting. I couldn't have asked for better flavor or taste.
However, visually the small cake for the cutting was not the decoration or style we discussed. It was still pretty, but a little disappointing.

The cake was pretty but not what I expected. The flowers were to be purple but some came out looking blue. No one really noticed but I was just a little disappointed. but other then that the flavor of the cake was good. Everyone enjoyed it.

The cake that Starry Night baked for us was so beautiful, we didn't want to have to cut into it. And it tasted soooooo good! I have had so many people tell me that they even went back for seconds because it tasted so good.
As for responsiveness and professionalism, I scored them a little lower on these because when my sister or I attempted to get information about the vegan cupcakes they have, it was like pulling teeth. My niece has severe food allergies and we wanted to make sure the cupcakes would be safe for her. When we would ask specific questions it seemed like they were just brushed aside and we were told that "we do this all the time, it will be fine". In the end we were finally able to get answers, and everything was fine, but it would have been much simpler and a much better experience had we not had to fight to make sure my niece wouldn't have a severe allergic reaction at my wedding reception.

I noticed a lot of ads for this bakery and some of their previous cakes. I really had high hopes for a wonderful cake. We had a budget of $300 which it was a bit more, no problem. Till my mom wanted a 4th tier which put me around $450.. still cant understand why so much more but it did end up being a good choice to have an extra piece. Doing the cake testing was the best part. They had good options for the different flavors and fillings. We brought color photos and a lot of detail for them to execute the prefect cake. The unfortunate part was when i saw the cake it was nothing like what i thought it would. The color was white when it was to be hot pink ombre, the cascading flower seemed awkwardly placed unlike the photo i supplied and oddly enough i cant stand the bead piping between layers. It was just a let down to see how bland and almost old fashioned it looked. But it did taste great and everyone seemed to enjoy it so i didn't let it bother me!
