BOOK THEM: High Energy, Insane Talent & Incredible!

I'm writing this review as a full-service wedding planner who recently worked with the Starlight Music team for my client's wedding and Allie, Ramon & The entire Starlight Music / Onyx Band are INCREDIBLE!!

I have seen many MANY bands, but none compare to Starlight/Onyx, if you want high energy, insanely talented musicians and vocalists that have top-notch communication AND killer outfits, do yourself a favor and HIRE THIS BAND! You will not be disappointed! They had every single guest up on the dance floor and knew how to read the crowd and give them what they needed.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE! I can't wait to work with them again!!

The Rhythm Shop is the BEST Wedding Band!!

The Rhythm Shop is, without a doubt, the BEST wedding band. They exceeded every expectation we had. From our very first conversation, they were incredibly easy to work with, listened to exactly what we wanted, and somehow made our wedding more fun and memorable than we ever could have imagined. The dance floor was packed the entire night, and the energy in the room was absolutely incredible from start to finish! They knew exactly how to read the crowd, keep the party going, and make every guest feel involved. What says the most is that we are almost a month married and people are STILL calling, texting, and talking about the band. I cannot tell you how many guests have told us they were the best wedding band they have ever heard. I genuinely cannot recommend The Rhythm Shop enough. If you are getting married and looking for a band, stop searching and book them now. It will be one of the best decisions you make for your wedding!!

Best Wedding Music of all Time!

Starlight Music absolutely blew us away for our wedding! We had The Rhythm Shop as our band, and they were phenomenal from start to finish. Our guests were dancing all night and are still raving about the level of talent and the energy that they brought!

Evan and Michelle were such a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process. They took the time to understand our style, helped us curate the perfect set list, and coordinated everything seamlessly. They made us feel confident and excited every step of the way.

The Rhythm Shop delivered an unforgettable performance that truly made our wedding reception come to life. From the first dance to the last song, every moment was unbelievably amazing. We can’t recommend Starlight enough!

Spectacular!

Rock and Soul Band was simply amazing! The energy from Evan and the band made the reception rock! Evan and his team were so easy to work with, well organized, and 100% reliable. Everyone at the wedding said the same thing: "We have NEVER heard a band this good!" Even our photographer was blown away. She said at one point "I don't know why they are piping in Lady Gaga in at time point. But when I turned around, they were singing/1". We cannot recommend Rock and Soul more highly. Thanks!!!

The BEST band! You won't be sorry!!

The Blake Band stole the show at our wedding! We are so thankful we picked an incredibly talented group of musicians to make our wedding, OUR party. From the initial phone consultation to finalizing all the details Starlight Music made sure working with them was a seamless process. They made themselves available to answer all of our questions, and take specific requests. They even had a virtual portal that allowed us to completely customize our day and our music list! Denny & the band kept the party going non stop and brought the dance floor to life. The Blake Band made our wedding feel like a personalized concert leveraging each of their member’s unique talents. DEF get the rapper, he was awesome!! We even had a unique request – the father of the bride wanted to perform a sax solo with support from the band. Denny was so excited and willing to support. He was happy to communicate directly with the father of the bride and made this such a memorable experience for us. Your guests won’t remember every detail from your wedding, but they will certainly remember this fantastic band. I STRONGLY encourage speaking to Starlight music and booking the Blake Band for your wedding – we will never forget them.

Incredible musicians and performers!

We cannot recommend White Light Band enough! They absolutely set the entire vibe for our wedding reception. We told them we wanted people dancing the entire time and the band absolutely delivered - our guests did NOT want to leave the dance floor for even a single song! After our wedding we received tons of compliments about how incredible the band was, and they truly went above and beyond to create such a fun and amazing atmosphere. Not only that, but they were very professional, organized, and easy to work with, and made the entire process seamless. The entire band is made up of incredibly talented musicians and performers and they truly helped us to have the wedding of our dreams!

Onyx was incredible!

The most incredible wedding band!

Thank you so much to the Blake Band for the most incredible night!!

Literally, everyone came up to us during or after the party to specifically tell us how phenomenal the band was and needed their information. They were amazing with the crowd and just crushed every song they played. We also appreciated how they helped the whole party flow and that Denny played impromptu Grateful Dead during dinner when my dad asked. We couldn't have asked for a better band!

We also appreciate all of Evan and Allies' help these past few months, especially their flexibility when we had an issue with our initial venue a year prior.

Best wedding band we've ever experienced!

I cannot adequately convey just how amazing Starlight Music was. We had the Rock and Soul Band play at our wedding, and we've been receiving compliments ever since. I can't think of another band or ensemble where so many of the guests independently looked up their website after to follow them and e-mail the band leader thanking them for their amazing performance.

Starlight music was on our preferred vendors list for our venue at Tappan Hill. We ended up interviewing five bands and music companies in our search for the perfect wedding band. We decided to go with Evan and Starlight music for several reasons:

1) Our wedding was a Jewish wedding and Evan's band fees are all inclusive. We were honoring Jewish wedding traditions that I had little experience with. We needed music for the cocktail hour, additional music for the procession from the tisch to the bedeken, music for the ceremony, and finally music for the reception. Many of the other music companies we looked at wanted an additional "bedeken fee," for what amounts to 5 minutes or music. Evan immediately knew what a bedeken was, what kind of music needed to be played, and offered bedeken services as part of the cocktail hour and reception music. All music for the whole event was included in the fee we paid and it didn't feel like we were being bombarded with ala carte fees, as most of the other music companies were piling on.

2) Starlight was able to give us musicians who had experience with playing a hora. We really wanted someone who could sing Hebrew well, and our band, Rock and Soul, fit the bill.

3) Starlight was able to show us music from actual performances they had done at Tappan Hill. Most companies had highly edited hype videos, but they were reluctant to show us clips from actual performances. As Evan explained to us, the footage is less impressive, but it gave us an idea of what the music would look like at Tappan Hill.

We absolutely made the right choice. We had a meeting with the band to discuss our music choices. The band bent over backwards to meet all our needs. They were able to learn a waltz for our parents, do the best hora I've ever danced, learn our first dance song, which is pretty uncommon, and play an Israeli song for the bride to walk down the aisle too. They even learned a variation of the tradition bedeken music where they played modern pop music to get my non-Jewish wedding party in the mood, and switched to more traditional klezmer music for the bedeken.

We had the acoustic trio (with singing) for our cocktail hour. They were awesome and set the right mood. They weren't too loud or overpowering where our guests wouldn't be able to converse. The saxophone, trumpet, and violin did an awesome job for our procession from the tisch to the bedeken. The ceremony music was beautiful and exactly what we envisioned. And finally, the reception music was the most memorable I've ever experienced. Throughout the wedding our guests were coming up to us and complimenting us on the band. Even now--a month later--we are still receiving compliments for the band. The trumpet player and sax player were ridiculously talented and interacted with our guests in fun and entertaining ways.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We would 100% hire Starlight and Rock and Soul Band again, and we would recommend them to anyone looking. If they seem pricey, make sure to compare them to other bands after calculating all fees. They actually are reasonably priced.

Outstanding Performance

Starlight Music was beyond seamless when it came to booking our band! Everything was done via zoom call and it made it so easy for us to get it all done quickly! Evan, Denny and Allie were so informative and easy going. Allie (Event Coordinator) is very organized, professional and honest, which ultimately made our experience with Starlight Music. Denny (Lead Band Member) completely rocked out to our 90s vibe. The day of our wedding the band did not stop playing! So many of our guests raved about how outstanding they were. The best band!

Every single person who is a part of Star Power performed beyond our wildest dreams. They read the crowd like true professionals and kept everyone on their feet. The band leader Myoshi could not have made us feel more special. Her amazing smile helped light up the crowd and her talent is incomparable. The entire band is truly full of pure talent and joy and we're so happy we were able to have each person there because it would not have been as electrifying if anyone was missing. We are so incredibly thankful to all of Star Power and Starlight Music for helping to create what was the best night of our lives!

Best Decision We Made!!!!

We had Rock N Soul at our wedding and it was by far the best decision we made. They were truly outstanding and had everyone on their feet the entire time. White Light was amazing!

We had an amazing time with the White Light band at our wedding on 10/22 on Long Island. Both my fiance and I love to dance at weddings and really wanted to ensure that our wedding was as high energy as possible. White Light really exceeded our expectations - they kept the dance floor as packed as possible all night long and really performed a wide variety of music that appealed to all of our guests. Each singer was really exceptional and the music both at the ceremony and cocktail hour were great. SO many of our guests came up to us at the end of the night to say this was the best band that they have heard - even some of our friends who don't love bands at weddings said that they understood the hype. Thanks so much White Light for such an incredible night!

Incredible Vendor Experience

The White Light made our wedding!

We worked with the Starlight team and their band, The White Light, for our January 2022 wedding in NYC. We had heard them at a friend's wedding in 2019 and knew that they were a must-book for our own event, and they did not disappoint!

Allie was wonderful to work with on the backend, and they accommodated us when we pushed our reception from 2021 to 2022. Thanks to prep calls and music review emails, we felt like we were on the exact same page as to what the "vibe" of our wedding and its music was.

When our reception day came, there was a huge snow storm, and certain members of the band couldn't make it into the city. However, they seamlessly found substitutes and the band sounded even better than they did when we had heard them a few years ago! We had them play piano and saxophone at our cocktail hour, and for dancing, they did a mix of contemporary music, Motown, disco, classics from the 70s and 80s, and 90s pop/hip hop...they even threw in a "Hamilton" medley for our Broadway-obsessed crowd!

They have the best energy and such talented musicians (the singers and rappers especially)...all of our guests are still raving about them, as are we. Thank you Allie + team!

Amazing band for a non-stop party!

Evan and Rock & Soul were AMAZING! We were married in October 2021, and once we heard the band's demo tracks we knew this was the band for us. Evan shared so much content with us as we prepared to make our decision, including unedited vocal tracks (so that we could hear the raw talent of his performers) as well as videos from other events. As the date got closer, Evan and the Starlight team worked with us to create our ideal playlist, including special songs for our ceremony and our cocktail hour. They were also sensitive to our family dynamics and to our personal likes and dislikes. During the reception, the band kept everyone on their feet all night! We loved their plan for the flow of the evening, which maximized the time on the dance floor - we've since attended another wedding where this was not the case, and it was very noticeable! So many of our guests raved about how good the band was, and have asked for their information to recommend them for future weddings - everyone enjoyed themselves so much! We cannot thank Evan and Rock & Soul enough for all of their help and a fantastic evening!

We love white light!

We LOVE the White Light Band! They were absolutely AMAZING at our wedding this December. All night long our guests were raving about how amazing they were. The energy, the vocals, the guitars, the drums, the saxophone, the keyboard, ALL OF IT! The band leader Mike was an absolute pleasure to work with from our very first meeting all the way to party end at midnight! Him and the entire band kept everyone on the dance floor and we never wanted it to end! We cannot recommend them enough! We would choose Starlight Music over and over again!

The blake band!

We chose The Blake Band as they’re super diverse and play a little bit of everything, but SUPER WELL!
They say the most important parts of a wedding are the food and the music.
Well, the Blake Band did NOT disappoint. Denny and the band were incredible. It was like being at an interactive concert. The music was amazing and the musicians are so talented.
My 94 year old grandma usually leaves every wedding 20min into the reception, she not only stayed until 11:30 enjoying the wedding & The Blake Band…but she DANCED more than we’ve seen her dance in years!!! Thank you to Denny and the band and Evan and Allie with Starlight Music for not only making our wedding memorable and fun, but also for giving my grandma (and me and my family) the joy of seeing her enjoy herself so much to your music!

Amazing band and people

We used Starlight Music for our wedding this fall and could not have had a better experience. From our first interactions with Evan, the owner, we knew we wanted to work together and valued his personability and flexibility to align with our vision and also budget. We had the Star Elite band, headed by the lead Chandler, and we were blown away. Chandler and the rest of the band are rockstars and threw us the party that we had hoped for. All our guests raved about them afterwards and we definitely recommend them to anyone.

Phenomenal in every way!

Starlight Music is the best of the best!! Evan was fantastic to work with in the planning stages - incredibly responsive, helpful and creative. It was clear right away that Starlight wanted to help us live out the night of our dreams- and they beyond delivered! We had Star Power at our wedding two weeks ago and they were fantastic! Our guests have not stopped talking about how incredible the band was — several guests went out of their way to tell us that Star Power was the best band they had ever heard at a wedding (we agree!)! Star Power had the dance floor full all night long and our guests spanned the age range spectrum. Myoshi and Star Power simply crushed it- the vocals and instrumentals were out of control and they brought nonstop energy all night long! Wishing we could do the night all over again so that we could celebrate with Star Power the exact same way!!!!

Great wedding band

When my (future) husband and I got engaged, he was adamant that we had to have a killer band. He did his own research and we met with Evan from Starlight, who walked us through some of the band selections at Starlight. We made our decision, but then of course, the pandemic happened, and we had to postpone our wedding by one year. Evan worked with us to select a new Starlight band - White Light - for our new 2021 date. We primarily worked with Allie and Mike (band leader) leading up to our wedding, and walked through the intricacies of the ceremony and special songs to us. Our guests keep telling us how much they loved our band, and we were more than happy to dance for 2+ hours to music that was tailored to our likes and wants. White Light even learned a few songs for us. I would highly recommend working with Starlight and the White Light!

The only wedding band you should consider

If you want your wedding guests talking about how amazing your band is, hire Starlight Music! From our first meeting with Evan, we immediately knew we found the perfect band. He was professional, knowledgeable, and most importantly transparent which is not something we found with other companies. His team was extremely responsive throughout the entire planning process and no detail big or small was missed. Not only were they great leading up to the wedding, but we were completely blown away during the wedding by their performance. They took all of our song suggestions as well as perfectly adjusted their music to the flow of the night and had everyone on the dance floor the entire time! I am still receiving messages a week later from our guests about how amazing they were and how much fun they had. My husband and I are also still over the moon about them!!

The Best Thing You Can Do For Your Wedding

The Blake Band ( from Starlight Music): HO! LY! $#!%! No matter what I write, I cannot possibly do the band justice. Oh my God, they were utterly phenomenal. The energy they brought was insane. I could tell that there were some guests hesitant to get on the floor (in part due to covid), but the band leaving the stage and coming onto the floor was just what we needed. There was one point where two members were doing a Crazy In Love duet and I could swear I was watching a concert or music video. The cocktail hour singer (Elisa) was awesome and they chose the perfect playlist to compliment the vibe. The rapper (YSL) commands the room when he is on the mic and I can't imagine not having him there; he provides the band with a chance to have such great range and he is even better in person than videos. Tip: please get the 10-piece band that includes a female r&b singer and rapper, it is soooo worth it. The male R&B singer (Ashwi) was a favorite of ours—we requested specific songs because we saw him sing them on the preview videos, and he absolutely crushed each one. And of course, the band leader Denny Blake. I was able to briefly chat with him before and after everything, and I can't say enough about him or the band. He has the perfect rock voice, and is also such a great guy. I will hopefully never need another wedding band, but they will be recommended to anyone who will listen. Just about every guest told us how great the band was; there were rave reviews from anyone that was there from guests in their 20s to guests in their 80s. If I could only keep one vendor, this is the one. Their videos are incredible but only show about 1/3 of the performance you get in-person. Please do yourself a favor and book the Blake Band.

Truly amazing band

When we decided we were definitely going to go with a band instead of a DJ, our wedding planner pointed us towards Starlite as the best option. They did not disappoint!! Our first call with them was downright fun - a performance in and of itself. We were sold on them immediately.

Myoshi, the band leader for Star Power, made us feel so special. I know she does this multiple nights a week, but you would have thought our wedding was the only one that mattered. She went out of her way to check pronunciation on names she would be announcing and to learn our vibe as a couple. She nailed it.

We were particularly impressed with how well the band read the room. They did a fantastic job catering their selections to the energy of the crowd. We have gotten so many comments in the week and a half since the wedding that our band was awesome.

Starlight Music-The Blake Band

We can't say enough about Starlight Music, Evan, Allie and the most incredible band, The Blake Band! After three rescheduled dates, a backyard ceremony with Denny on guitar last year, and then the celebration a year later all we can say is WOW. The singers, all with their own specialities, were incredible, the horns playing on the dance floor, the lyrics of a song changed to match the surprise firework display in the harbor, it was amazing. Our friends never left the dance floor and are still telling us how incredible Denny was. Our daughter and SIL had the most fabulous first anniversary party!!!! There are not enough adjectives or exclamation marks to describe how great the night was.

The BEST band in the NJ/NY area!

WOW! Rock & Soul kept everyone on their feet from start to finish! Evan and his team at Starlight Music are professional, responsive, and loaded with great ideas... and obviously fabulous musicians! The acoustics were spot on for every toast, the ceremony and vows, and all throughout the dance sets. Not only did they sing, but they performed! Our guests were dazzled with the choreographer dance moves and lit up when Evan or the saxophone player joined everyone on the dance floor. They wove in our "must play" songs with perfect selections to keep everyone moving and enjoying themselves. During dinner, the quieter music was perfect so our guests could enjoy conversation during that time. One of my absolute favorite parts of Rock & Soul was the Acoustic Trio during cocktail hour. So much more fun than a traditional Jazz Trio, and something our guests pointed out really set the mood for the evening. Rock & Soul band is worth every penny and will without a doubt help you have a memorable wedding!

The Blake Band with Starlight Music is one of the best wedding decisions you can make!

From the minute we heard the Blake Band play at my best friend’s wedding, we knew we needed them to play at our wedding! We had to reschedule our wedding due to Covid and they were so flexible and positive during the whole process. At our meeting with Denny and Allie, they listened closely to everything we were looking for and totally delivered the day of our wedding! They even learned a few new songs for us! Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how amazing the Blake Band was. Every single song they played had our guests dancing and every musician in the band is so incredibly talented. Starlight made our tiny backyard wedding PERFECT

We can’t say enough good things about Starlight and the INCREDIBLE job they did for our small backyard wedding. We originally booked them for an indoor ceremony in November that has of course been postponed. Evan was able to quickly assist when we told him we were going forward with a small outdoor ceremony. Evan recommended Drew, who was utterly fantastic. Drew worked with us to develop a song list. On our wedding day, it poured rain. Drew showed up with excitement and just made it work. Our wedding was a resounding success in no small part because Drew’ s music was SO special and perfect. All of the stress of wedding planning and 2020 melted away. We will always be grateful to them for making our backyard wedding extra wonderful.

Amazing and flexible!

We had the best time on our wedding night (and so did our guests) which we owe in large part to starlight! They set such a good and fun tone for everyone. Every guest was blown away by them, they played to what the crowd was vibing and really kept the party going. Evans suggestion to include a fifth performer to go on during the bands breaks was also a key element to keeping the energy high the whole night.

It was so much fun and they played all our requested music, much of it I know they learned just for us. We are so thankful that they worked so hard to give us the best night.

Through all the craziness of Covid, changing venues, changing guest count, and ultimately changing the specific band we worked with, starlight was so flexible and easy to communicate with. Such a joy and pleasure the whole way through and so understanding/accommodating for our last minute changes. Thank you!!!

Starlight Music's Rock & Soul Band Will Make Your Wedding a 10 Star Event

I can't say enough terrific things about Evan Tyler, the Rock & Soul Band from Starlight Music. He and his hand picked musicians and vocalists made my son's wedding the absolute most fun and enjoyable event for everyone attending. It was especially memorable as we all celebrated a week before the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut shelter-at-home order was implemented. Everyone danced their hearts out and the selection of music was perfect. There is no need to explore any other group. In addition to being an outstanding vocalist with a dynamic personality, Evan is also very flexible and able to work collaboratively with couples to provide a customized entertainment package rather than something that is typical and boring. Hire them and dance your heart out!

When we met Denny and saw footage of The Blake Band we knew that we needed him for our special day. We met with Denny and Allie about six weeks before our wedding to discuss music choices and our vision. We really trusted the both of them to make our party the best it could be. There was never a moment when guests weren’t on the dance floor. Denny’s energy and passion were truly contagious. A magical night!

Starlight's "Rock & Soul" had everyone on the dance floor from the beginning to the very end of our wedding. The musicianship was incredible and the singers were absolutely amazing. The energy from the band was contagious and guests came up to us all night long and complimented the band. Let the music play!!! Wow..

Can't recommend this band enough! Guests actually thought they lip sang they were so good! Sounded exactly like the artists they played.. They were open to suggestions. Great team to work with.. The owner (who reminds us of Pit Bull) was amazing and they gave us a mix that flowed and kept our guests and us dancing until the cake cutting and then continued on to the end of the night! We did not want it to stop.. The music they also supplied for the ceremony was so beautiful.. We got so many compliments on the band..

Exceptional!

To say that Starlight Orchestra surpassed our expectations is an understatement. They had come highly recommended to us, so I felt comfortable that they were going to be great, but I can't describe how great they were. The entire process leading up to the wedding was easy - Allie had all the logistics down to a science, and Valerie met with us ahead of time to really understand our vibe. The night of our wedding was just incredible. Our dance floor was packed the whole night, the energy brought by the band was incredible. I found myself numerous time just watching their performance, it was so engaging, and I wasn't the only one - the number of compliments we received on the band from guests was tremendous - EVERYONE was in love. Definitely work with Starlight if you have the chance, you will be so happy you did.

Had everyone dancing all night - SO FUN AND TALENTED!

Starlight Orchestra performed at our wedding and they were absolutely amazing and had everyone dancing all night! As soon as we met with them we knew that we wanted to have them at our wedding and we could not have chosen a better band! They were very communicative and helpful leading up to the wedding and made sure that we were comfortable with all of our selections and the timeline of our day. Most importantly, the dance floor was packed all night and so many of our guests were raving about their performance! We would definitely recommend hiring Starlight Orchestra if you want you and your guests to have an amazing time at your wedding!

Extremely professional and Fun!

The Blake Band was an extremely wonderful asset to our wedding day! The staff was very professional and responded to our calls and emails very quickly when working with them leading up to the wedding. They accommodated all of our requests with no question and learned some new songs for us. They had some great recommendations on our timeline for the evening and certainly bring a ton of experience to keeping a wedding running smoothly. The band leader kept all of our guests up and dancing the entire night and coordinated with the venue seamlessly. Some of the musicians even came onto the dancefloor with the instruments and kept the crowd lively. They helped make it the best night that we will remember forever!! Best Decision We Made - Highly Recommend!

Starlight music was absolutely incredible! The whole band was amazing and our band leader, Mike, was a real pro. We had the most magical day and the band was an integral part of that. They were extraordinarily amazing with every song they played - including during the ceremony and cocktail hour. They really listened to our suggestions and vision and kept the crowd dancing all night. Not only did we thoroughly enjoy every minute of it, but we got so many compliments from our friends and family on how outstanding the band was. We would certainly recommend the group to anyone!! We cannot speak highly enough of not only the performance on the big day, but also the whole process. It was smooth and easy for us, and for such a big, important part of the day, we felt like it was one thing we really never stressed over.

The Blake Band totally made the party!

The Blake Band helped make our wedding into an unforgettable party! Denny and the band seamlessly navigated all different genres and styles; they incorporated our specifically requested songs with more wedding "fan favorites" for a blend that kept people dancing all night! They were incredibly accommodating and played some niche wedding songs traditional to my family. They even surprised us by playing my parents' wedding song which made for a really sweet moment. The whole team was lots of fun to work with and were incredibly responsive and helpful from start to finish. Starstruck by Starlight!!

My husband and I both love music, and we have experienced the amazing impact a great band can have on the energy of a wedding. We were super picky when looking for a band for our big day, and are SO HAPPY that we found Starlight Music. From the moment we met Evan, we could tell we were working with the real deal. One huge thing for us was that, unlike most places, their video demos were not auto-tuned or over-produced. It was clear these performers could sing in real life—not just after heavy editing—and the range of styles they cover was impressive. We ended up hiring the Rock and Soul band, and were able to customize it a bit to fit the style we were going for (gotta love a trumpet!). They were collaborative when we decided to bring in a ringer to lead the band for the hora, and when we asked them to learn a specific rendition of our first dance song. On the day of the wedding we were blown away. The energy was high, the musicianship was second to none, and the singers were AMAZING—I was honestly a bit starstruck—ha! We got sooo many rave reviews from our guests about the band. Highly recommend!

no one can touch them!

Consummate professionals from beginning to end. Evan and his team held our hand and respected every request we had while at the same time offering friendly advice and pointers based his his past experiences. The price is premium but when you consider the importance of the event you're hiring them for, and the quality of not only the lead up, but the performance itself, it is worth every penny! To be clear, this band made the party! We had an 800+ square foot dance floor that was packed from beginning to end. I may be biased as it was my daughters wedding, but it WAS THE BEST wedding we've ever been to by far, and it was because of this band. They are head and shoulders better than any competitor.

The perfect soundtrack to our fairytale

This is exactly what we wrote to Starlight Music and the Blake Band as a thank you...enjoy!

As Laura and I get back from our honeymoon and are still reflecting back on the best day of our lives, we wanted to thank you and Denny so much for being such a special part of the best day of our lives!

We both keep saying that we wish we could do it all over again as guests so we could dance to every song. With that being said, I’m sure Denny and crew saw Laura and I dancing all night long! We couldn’t stay off the dance floor and when we asked Denny at our finals meeting what made greats weddings great, he said it was the couple on the dance floor as much as possible. We tried to live up to that as best we could!

All of our guests LOVED the music and we saw and heard that people were dancing that usually don’t dance at weddings! The songs were perfect, the energy was palpable, and the vocals were on fire!

From the beautiful ceremony, to the amazing intro and first dance, to the longest hora anyone has ever seen, to the father/daughter dance and mother/son dance, everything was what we imagined.

Absolutely incredible!

From the moment we had our initial meeting with Starlight, Evan and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with! We originally saw them perform at a friends wedding last year, and knew that we wanted them for ours because they were the best band we had ever seen at a wedding (and we’ve been to quite a few weddings). Evan was always quick to respond to any of my questions, willing to work with us on band size/price, and truly made the process with him and his team so seamless. And man did they deliver - we have friends and family still telling us that our wedding was the most fun they’ve had at a wedding and that the band was beyond exceptional. The Blake Band

Let’s be real, the demo videos speak for themselves. The Blake Band is incredible. The singers and the musicians are very talented and they put on an amazing show. In our experience, Denny was fun to work with and helpful in creating the night we wanted for ourselves and our guests. He let us rap a surprise performance of “Bust A Move” on stage with the band. He played a medley of California songs in tribute to my home state. The horns players duked it out on the dance floor. The rapper got the crowd pumped. The band never lost steam and the music never stopped. We got the wedding we dreamed of: everyone was on the dance floor all night long. Our guests are still raving about the band.

Best choice of our wedding!

Starlight provided us exceptional music and entertainment for our entire wedding -- from our ceremony to the after party.

The band was absolutely exceptional - they learned a few special songs for us (and performed them perfectly), got all 200 of our guests dancing all night, and kept the energy so high for 3 hours straight. Best wedding band ever- all 200 guests exactly said this!

Starlight music company and The Blake Band was amazing beyond words! All night, the tables were empty and the dance floor absolutely jam packed. Song after song guests were saying omg! this band is incredible!!! Old or young, people did not get off the dance floor.
While the decorations were stunning, and the energy and love was fabulous, at the bottom line - it’s truly the band that is the single most important element of the entire wedding(other than the couple!). So having a great wedding is easy - Just hire this band. They so nailed it and as promised...they blew the roof off!

All I can say is WOW!! The Blake Band was unbelievable! I have been to a lot of weddings but never to one with a band as great as this one. They were such professionals—Denny and the band completely knew how to read the crowd. The dance floor was full the entire evening—even during dinner service!! There wasn’t one person at the wedding that did not come up to me and tell me how amazing the band was. The wedding did not end until 1 AM but no one left early, and the guests were begging for more!! The only complaint I had from our guests was that their feet were killing them the next morning!

Expectations were high but they were exceeded!!

The best of the best

Picking a band was one of the most important decisions we had to make for your wedding. Our primary source was reading reviews; it was hard for us to really determine quality sifting through reviews. I can say with 100% honesty, Starlight music deserves 5 stars and more, in all areas. Your search can end here. We had multiple people coming up to us during and after the wedding raving "this is the best wedding band we have ever seen." From start to finish, Starlight Music was so incredible and professional to work with. From our first meeting, Evan took the time to explain the process and answer all of our questions (and we had a lot). We ended up working with the Blake band; Allie and Denny were so organized and open to all our requests. They really aspired to make a custom experience that was completely us. During the wedding, we had people up and dancing who never ever dance. Nobody wanted the party to end - our guests were chanting for an encore after the last song! They really made our wedding day unforgettable and I hope to see them again at a friends wedding.

Absolutely amazing!!!

Honestly, the most incredible band we’ve ever experienced. We vetted out many options before deciding on starlight and we absolutely couldn’t be happier. As the bride, I think more people came up to to compliment me on the band that day than anything else. They just did a fantastic job and made the event such a wonderful experience. Made The Night!

We had such a fantastic experience working with Starlight Music! From the very first meeting they were so wonderful about making us feel totally confident in their abilities to bring our dream wedding night to life! We watched several of their bands and ultimately decided to hire White Light as our wedding band. It was one of the best decisions we made!

Mike and his band wowed us on every level. Personally, Mike was so friendly to work with. We got to meet with him before the wedding and talked everything through. We left feeling totally confident that they knew exactly what we were looking for, which was to make sure people danced as much as possible. And they sure did!

The band completely felt the vibe of the guests the whole night. They fed off of their energy and played songs that kept everyone on the dance floor. Some members of the group even got onto the floor and danced and sang along with the guests, which added to the excitement. My husband and I did not stop dancing! They played great music and the singers were all so incredibly talented. Their vocals blew us away!

We have not stopped hearing compliments from our family and friends about how amazing the music was. Everyone has raved about what a great night it was and that was definitely in large part to the band. They were certainly worth every penny for us!

Above and beyond!

I had the Blake Band play at my wedding and I have nothing but positive feedback for them. We were really specific in our vision-from the type of music to even asking for an unplugged performance during the entres-and Denny and the band delivered on every one of them. The energy was great for the duration of the reception and we got a lot of compliments after. So glad we worked with them!

Last wedding

Words can’t describe how amazing Rock and Soul was on our wedding night. The only complaint is that the dance floor wasn’t big enough! That’s just to show how much fun our guests were having, and my now husband and I are so happy withy he outcome. We had the best night of our lives, they at the all so talented and listened to all of our requests. Thanks so much for th best night of our lives!

Rock & Soul MADE our wedding

I just got married at 26 Bridge in DUMBO, Brooklyn last week and our band was Rock & Soul from Starlight music. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Evan (the owner of the company) and the band. Where do I being?!

Let’s start with Evan: He is a complete professional at what he does and runs an amazing business. Plus, he is fun! He really GOT what we wanted and executed on it. He was such a pleasure to work with and made everything easy. We also worked with Allie, one of their producers, during the planning process. She is such a doll and super organized. Overall, they were on top of their game.

Now let’s talk about the band: We researched and went to see a lot of bands, but once we met with Evan and saw/listened to Rock & Soul, there was no question – we had to have them. It was HANDS DOWN the best decision we made with the wedding. They took the party to a whole new level – their energy is contagious. Each musician and vocalist are super talented. With a lot of other bands, you have 1-2 great vocalists, then everyone else is ok. That is not the case with Rock & Soul – they are ALL amazing. They even learned new songs that we requested. For example, we chose “Always Remember Us This Way” from A Star is Born for our first dance and one of the female vocalists learned it and sang it BEAUTIFULLY. Evan was the lead and rocked it! He was also the DJ during breaks AND the emcee. He amazes me. Love that guy. We also want to mention Denny..he is actually the guitarist and lead vocalist of one of Starlight’s other bands called Blake Band but agreed to play with Rock & Soul at our wedding because he was available. We were fan girling on him hard after hearing his voice during our consultation meeting. He sounds like a mixture of Rod Stewart, Jack Johnson and whatever the coolest guy alive sounds like.

The consistent feedback we’ve heard from all of our guests – “WOW!! Your band was incredible! Seriously, they were the best band we’ve ever seen at a wedding!”

Amazing Band

Rock & Soul (from Starlight Music) is the most unbelievable band - and had the wedding up and dancing!!! We had comment and after comment that our band was amazing. We had loved when we saw you at our friend's wedding - but you truly exceeded our expectations.

You were also incredibly professional to work with. Your team was organized and quick to answer any questions we had. I did not have to worry about the band for one second during this process.

When planning our wedding, having great music was a top priority....and we definitely had incredible live music!! We will 100% recommend Rock&Soul to anyone looking for a band for any occasion.

Over the Top experience!

The Blake Band absolutely made our wedding day with their rock star performance. I cannot recommend this band enough! They had the crowd on the dance floor the entire night and played all of the songs we wanted - Banger after banger! EVERYONE from our wedding is commenting that the Blake Band was the best wedding band they have ever heard! They catered to the crowd - both young & old. I've had several people asking for their contact information to book their next event.

We had an incredible experience working with the Starlight Team. Denny remembered all of the songs and details from our finals meeting. Allie in the office is very responsive, helpful & professional. Evan gave us a great introduction, answered questions and helped us with booking.

Guests still haven't stopped commenting

We were fortunate to have the Blake Band from Starlight Music play at our wedding. From start to finish, the process was personalized and organized. Evan from Starlight Music sat with us at our first meeting to discuss our vision and music taste. He spent quality time to ensure our vision could come to fruition. They were able to meet at a time that was convenient for us, were responsive via email, and had a detailed process. In addition, Allie facilitated the planning process, had prompt communication, and was a pleasure to work with. Starlight Music and the Blake Band coordinated everything with our event planner & venue, making it stress-free for us. Because they are an entertainment company, they have all the equipment they need. No additional equipment was required on our end for their performance. Our meeting with Denny was great- he ensured that we were all on the same page, paid attention to the details (timelines, name pronunciation, song selections, etc), and had such positive energy.

On wedding day, set up was smooth and organized as planned. The performance was amazing. Our guests still have not stopped commenting on how great the music was. They've said repeatedly that this is the best band they've ever heard at a wedding. The flow of music was continuous, song selection was on point, and there were no awkward moments of silence. While the band had their meals, Denny killed it with just his guitar and a microphone. The band read the energy of the crowd, engaged with the audience and made sure everyone had a great time. They're not your average wedding band, but rather a group of true professionals/performers. We would highly recommend them to any couple who cares about having fantastic music and a great time.

Best band out there!

We cannot say enough great things about Starlight Music and our band Rock and Soul. Evan truly understood what my husband and I were looking for and made our planning process from the beginning seamless and easy as well as enjoyable. Last weekend was the best weekend of our lives and we cannot thank Rock and Soul enough for making the party! From the ceremony music - which sounded beautiful, to the cocktail hour trio which was the perfect fit and finally to the reception - where you they absolutely killed it - we are so happy and grateful that we them there. Rock and Soul did exactly what we asked for and all week we have been consistently hearing from our friends and family how incredible the band was and how the dance floor was going all-night long, as well as people asking where we found Starlight Music and where they can hire them for their own events.

From the bottom of our hearts, we are so happy we found Starlight Music and loved every second of working with them.

Most Amazing Band

The Starlight Orchestra (part of Starlight music) was absolutely incredible!! They put on an outstanding performance and our friends and family were blown away. Everyone is still talking about them.

The energy in the room was electric and the dance floor was packed from beginning to end. Ramon (the band leader) was such a joy to work with and he really listened to everything we requested. He was also great at reading the crowd. We really can't thank him and the band enough.

This band is stellar and deserves to be in it's own league. The musicians are top-notch professionals. We highly recommend them especially for anyone who loves music and an energetic party.

Such a fun Band!

We had our wedding Labor Day wkend 2018 and this band was amazing! We used Blake band who were unbelievable. Everyone kept on telling us how amazing the band was. Denny was such a great band leader and when we met with a couple of weeks before to create the music list, he knew exactly what we wanted and made it so easy. We also worked with Allie throughout the process and she was incredibly! So responsive and helpful with eveythjng we had to fill out and put together. I recommend this band to anyone! Starlight is great and also has different levels of band sizes as well, all are great. Thanks Alie, Denny and starlight music for making our wedding so much fun!

From the ceremony to the cocktail hour and from start to finish of the party it was not only seamless but flawless. EVERYONE! Kept telling us how amazing you guys were and to quote my friend exactly she said,

“it was the first time at a wedding where I didn’t feel like the band played 7 songs and then the wedding was over. Idk how you guys planned the flow/structure but it was perfect. The band was incredible. Amazing playlist. “

You were truly unbelievable and we couldn’t have imagined a more wild and well done party.

Not only was the party and meetings to prep done so well and at all times we knew we were in good hands but you helped us plan our first dance so well. We were set up for dance lessons and really nailed a first song and dance down with guidance and on the night of we rocked it!

We LOVED working Starlight, it was very clear that everyone we worked with both in the band and in the office really enjoys their jobs and are very good at them! Extremely talented individuals that work together well & were a pleasure to have at our wedding. Evan, Denny & Allie helped us customize our wedding to suit us. I am from NJ & my husband is from Puerto Rico, they did an excellent job in balancing the music & had everyone on their feet the whole time. We had a non-traditional unforgettable ceremony thanks to Denny! It’s been a month & I am still getting rave reviews from all of our guests. I would give them 10/5 stars if possible. Incredibly professional, adaptable & talented group. I wish I could order the soundtrack of the wedding!!!

We selected Starlight’s Rock & Soul for our wedding and they were phenomenal! The band had everyone out of their seats on the dance floor the whole night. Guests of all ages were raving about the quality of the music and variety... Sinatra, The Bee Gees, Pitbull, Walk the Moon, & more.

It was a pleasure to work with Evan and Allie on logistics. Starlight is unique with only four bands, and we felt that we received a lot of attention. The company is highly professional and not only established a clear timeline of the night but also honored all our song requests. Furthermore, our wedding coordinator for the evening disappeared on us and ran errands for caterer instead, and we were relieved that Evan kept things moving despite their absence.

We found Evan to be extremely knowledgeable on weddings and events. He knew a lot about outdoor events and the band was prepared to perform all over the property for the ceremony and cocktail hour as well as under a tent.

We also never got the impression that Starlight was trying to nickel and dime us... While bands in the NY area are expensive, everything was included and Starlight’s overtime pricing was more reasonable than other entertainment companies. I’ve heard negative comments from my friends about last minute add-ons for expensive stages from Hank Lane, and I was glad that Evan talked to us well ahead of time about everything we would need and never tried to charge us last minute.

Overall, we are so glad we worked with Starlight and that Rock & Soul was available to perform at our wedding.

Picking a band was one of the most stressful parts of the wedding planning process. Every review we looked at gave so many different bands five stars so it really became difficult to tell which ones were the true stand outs. While I'm obviously now part of the problem by giving a five star review, I can confidently say The Blake Band and Starlight music earned every star and then some. They are the polar opposite of a cheesy wedding band. 6 musicians, 6 singers, all just as if not more talented then the next. Their team and band leader Denny (who is the man) work with you to make sure you get the exact show you're looking for. They played the songs we wanted to hear when we wanted to hear them, they read the room perfectly, and brought the house down with not one, but two encores. 90's pop, biggie, perfect dinner background jams, the best version of Bruce you can imagine, and everything in between. These guys do it all and if you book them I can guarantee that your wedding guests will be talking about them for weeks to come, I know ours have been!

BEST BAND EVER. We received SO many compliments on them. Honestly, we had no idea what to expect. We chose them solely because we loved Denny’s voice and we genuinely had no idea how they would be on the wedding night. Suffice it to say, they exceeded all of our expectations. The entire team was extremely easy to work with. Allie and Evan with Starlight were responsive, kind and organized. When we met Denny for the first time, we just knew we were going to have a great experience. For the ceremony, he sang and played the guitar for the family and wedding party processional. And then the music during cocktail hour and dinner were amazing but once we got on the dance floor – nobody left! Every single person danced all night. It was exactly what we wanted and just perfect! Highly highly recommend!!

After month of searching for our band ( we literally looked at about 10 bands) we ended up choosing The Blake Band and they were so freaking good, honestly if you come up short on your guest minimum and have these guys we will come and cover our plate they were THAT GOOD. The ENTIRE group was outstanding- please do your self a favor and book them now. Our wedding was 4.27.18 and we have been to about three weddings in NYC so far since then, and people can not stop coming up to us saying how kick @$$ they were. NO one stopped dancing it was AMAZINNG.

Holy cow! My face still hurts I still can’t stop smiling. Evan, Mike, Allie and the whole White Light band and crew, your team and talent are out of this world!!! Nailed it!! Working with you was the best decision I ever made and opportunity I ever had. our wedding was a real dream come true, a magical night I will never forget.

Mike, band leader, incredible! Everything was seamless; you made a difficult job look easy. All my guests melted because of your voice. We were all so impressed. Everyone was so touched when you came to the crowd to serenade the couples. Swoon! I will never forget the huge smile on my dads face during “shout.” he was so so happy and that’s all I wanted from the night. The White Light Band looked like they were having so much fun and that resonated in my guests. There was non stop dancing all night which was all I could ask for. Thank you so much, just amazing!

We could not recommend Evan and his band enough! From the second we met them, we knew they weren't your typical cookie cutter band - they are truly one of a kind and blew us away. 2 weeks after our wedding, people are still asking us for the name of our band because they were so great and people keep saying they've never heard a wedding band that was so good. I can't imagine why anyone who heard them at our wedding wouldn't use them -- they are the best of the best!

How can I begin to express how fabulous Starlight Music is, and how much EVERYONE at my son's wedding loved them! They are so talented, classy and warm and so thoroughly engaged in making the evening electrified! Everyone danced...even my 93 1/2 year old mother, along with her walker, and my friend who was recovering from hip replacement!
I was pleased beyond all of our high expectations....everyone agrees that Starlight is in a class by themselves!

Starlight was fantastic!! So many of our guests commented that Starlight was the best they'd ever seen at a wedding and not just at the reception! We had their rock trio play cocktail hour and they killed it! Would highly recommend these guys! You will not be disappointed! They had everyone at the wedding dancing. We had guests coming up to us all night asking how we found this band!

We had Denny and the Blake Band for our wedding. They had the dance floor full for hours. We and our guests had so much fun - throughout the night we received compliments about the professionalism and talent of the band. We had an acoustic guitar trio for arrivals, our ceremony and the reception. Our guests said it was such a treat to get a taste of the music during arrivals and all the fun that would be in store. Leading up to the wedding we worked with Evan, Allie and Denny. Everything was organized, flexible and professional - everything you want from a wedding vendor.

Hey Valerie et al
We want to extend a huge thank you to Valerie, Starlight Orchestra and everyone at Starlight Music who worked hard to make my son and daughter-in-law's wedding exactly what we had hoped it could be. From the stirringly beautiful ceremony music to the exhilarating, rousing party we couldn't have asked for more.

I don't remember being at a party where literally everyone who could walk, including my 91 year old mother, was on their feet and on the dance floor!!!! Throughout the night, our guests kept saying "This band is amazing", "I can't believe this band", "This is the best band we've ever heard." You were playing and singing, and everyone else was singing your praises.

As a family we simply had the best time!! Your music choice was pitch perfect :). Everyone wanted to party - exactly what we hoped for. You also totally respected our desire to continue the music with the volume turned down during dinner to allow conversation, and then, within minutes of dinner, everyone was back on the dance floor.

It was perfection - what a great and fun way for them to start their lives together!!

We are just beginning to recover and feel our feet again!
Outstanding performance!!! The entire Rock & Soul band blew us away! Every guest at our daughter's wedding had an amazing time (as you could tell from the dancing and high energy) and commented on how great the band was the entire night! Music selections were perfect for the range of guests!
Thank you for working and coordinating with our Clergy to learn the music for the ceremony. It was a beautiful start to the wedding!
Thanks again! We look forward to speaking to you when our son gets engaged!

Starlight Music's Rock & Soul band truly BLEW US AWAY and was one of the most important parts of the best day of our lives. They surpassed our expectations and went beyond our hopes and dreams. The dance floor was packed from the minute the doors opened until the very end. We interviewed with several companies before choosing Rock & Soul and we had the best first impression with Evan, the band leader, who eased my bridal nerves leading up to the big day. We couldn't count how many people came up to us during the reception to tell me how amazing the band was. People do not dish out compliments when they are not well deserved and they definitely deserved it. Evan really proved that he has a gift for reading the crowd. We had a very high energy crowd and never expected less from our friends and family. Rock & Soul was truly the perfect match.

Starlight Orchestra was absolutely incredible! All of our guests are still raving about our band. They were fun, engaging and the best band I've ever seen. Their voices are unreal!!
