Best wedding day!!

We had the best experience using Stan Hywet for our wedding ceremony and reception on 5/25/24! They were very responsive, helpful and kind! Rebecca was our main coordinator and she was the best! All the day of coordinators were helpful and friendly though. I didn’t have to worry about anything day of thanks to them! They have so many ceremony spaces to choose from and a few reception spaces. This place is beautiful and we would highly recommend!

Fairytale Fall Wedding

The Stan Hywet was the fairytale fall venue of my dreams. The wedding coordinator, Sara, was responsive, flexible, and very nice! We had our ceremony on the West Terrace, and the trees were just gorgeous in the fall. And we had our reception in the carriage house. We got so many positive comments on the venue throughout the event. It was truly a fairytale!

A truly exceptional experience

I couldn't have imagined a more organized and helpful staff for our ceremony — they whisked us around the grounds and kept tabs on absolutely everything. There were so many little details and moving pieces, yet they remained cool under pressure, even managing to make us laugh and keep everything light. It wasn't easy work, but they pulled it off beautifully.

An amazing day!

Our daughter was recently married at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens and the day was even more amazing than we had hoped. We initially had booked the venue in July, 2019 and had to postpone due to COVID. Sara worked with us the entire time. When the actual day came, the weather cooperated and the day-of staff assisted with photos, appetizers for the bridal party and anything else that came up. The ceremony was in Birch Tree Allee with cocktails outside. Our guests are still telling us how much they loved the wedding and venue.

Beautiful and Unique Akron Venue!

We held our reception in the Stan Hywet Manor House Reception Hall in April 2021. All of the staff and volunteers at Stan Hywet were extremely helpful throughout the planning process and the actual event. We loved that our guests were able to tour the Manor House and grounds during our cocktail hour. The reception hall itself is somewhat of a blank slate, but Stan Hywet was very helpful in suggesting vendors to help us elevate the space with lighting and decor. If you're looking for a unique Akron venue with a gorgeous backdrop for photos, Stan Hywet is the place to go!

Best Day Ever

With everything going on this year safe to say the planning process had been bumpy, being this venue was our second plan it turned out to be the most magical day! We wouldn’t have wished for anything else! Sharon Hershey was amazing to work with, I would email her a million questions about all the adjusting Covid policies and she would email me back immediately. She truly went above and beyond to put my worried bride mind at ease. Both my husband and I couldn’t have been happier the day of, with wonderful weather and the perfect location this was a dream venue.

Sharon and her team made our day a dream come true. We wanted to get married at Stan Hywet every since we first visited the property and between their top notch service and the beautiful weather everything was better than we could have imagined. We appreciated the coordination that went into moving the bridal party around the property and how well they assisted our other wedding vendors (DJ, photographer, videographer, and officiant) to make the day run incredibly smoothly.

Words can't even express how wonderful my experience with Stan Hywet was! Everyone on staff was so friendly and accommodating, and they really make you feel like it's your special day. On the day of the wedding, there were a few things that didn't go the way we had planned, but the Stan Hywet team was on top of every issue before I could even ask for their help. The grounds are beautiful and provided the perfect scenery for my dream wedding, but it wouldn't have been made possible without the Stan Hywet Rentals team.

When planning our daughter's wedding, we worked with John Tedesco at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens.
He was the most committed, assuring, friendly, completely professional (even under stress),
man we have ever worked with. (this was our first wedding).
He answered all our questions, and concerns with the utmost care.
Our wedding was a fairytale come true for our daughter.
It will be a cherished memory forever.

We recently had our wedding ceremony on the West Terrace at Stan Hywet. It is an absolutely beautiful place to get married and the grounds are impeccably maintained. Most importantly, the staff there is incredible. We worked with one of the event coordinators, Sharon, and she was fantastic. She was very organized and worked so hard to make our day beautiful. On the day of the ceremony, it was raining up until 10 minutes before we wanted to start. Sharon and other staff did a great job of having a backup plan in place while still being patient and waiting to see what the weather would do. They were wiping down chairs only a few minutes before the guests were seated all to make our dream of having an outdoor ceremony a reality. We can't say enough about the location and the people who work there.

A beautiful place to have a ceremony. We have gotten so many compliments already on how gorgeous our ceremony was, the backdrop at Stan Hywet on the West Terrace is by far one of the most amazing sites to have a wedding. The staff was great, very responsive and the price was right!! I would HIGHLY recommend Stan Hywet to any future bride who shares my love of the outdoors and wants BEAUTIFUL wedding photos!!

If you want a beautiful outdoor wedding - check out Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. We were married at the Birch Tree Alle & what a beautiful place to have a ceremony! The grounds are gorgeous & the staff there are wonderful. They make you feel like the First Lady & President! You are treated with such class it feels like you are the First Lady. We also had our reception in the Manor Hall & that was the best place to have a reception - lots of room & you can make such a grand enterance into the reception down the steps!

They were there for me every step of the way, zero worries and the result was truly a fairytale! They provided a back-up ceremony site and also two people that helped run things smoothly the day of, we felt so at ease and enjoyed every minute, thank you!!

Robert and I were married last Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens. The service was absolutely wonderful and everything went extremely well. The weather was touch and go and everyone made sure that it was not an issue, but that our wedding day was going to be memorable no matter what.

John, the event coordinator was wonderul...I don't know that I have words to express just how great everything at Stan Hywet was regarding my wedding.

i went here to get pictures in their gardens befor my wedding. they have so many different gardens and they provide you with a personal tour guide. they were so nice and they picture were worth every thing we spent there. thay were the most beutiful pictures ever.

You cannot beat the beauty!! And the staff was phenomenal. Their organization and attentiveness to work with us on anything that came up that day was fantastic!! It was the absolute perfect venue for us.

They were so professional and organized, I felt no stress from them on my wedding day. I would have it here again in a heartbeat. I only had my ceremony here though, because I didn't think the reception site would be easy to transform into exactly what I wanted since it was so dark. The ceremony sites and pictures from there are perfect though.

Absolutely beautiful

I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect venue for our wedding! It was more than I could have ever asked for and we barely had to do any decorating. The grounds are incredible!

Manor hall rental

We worked with Mindy, she was super responsive and got everything worked out with the vendors. It was like having a day of coordinator. Overall we were extremely happy with the entire event and all the planning leading up to it. For an Akron wedding, the venue is on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. We took all our wedding pictures on site and absolutely love the grounds in the fall. They also have very strict rules about the bar, including an uncorking fee for any wine you plan to bring. My FIL wasn't happy about that. But, overall we were happy with the selection they provided.

(We only had our ceremony here, not our reception.) Our wedding was absolutely beautiful, and I really feel we owe that to our choice of venue. The team at Stan Hywet, including Cindy, the coordinator, are so organized, wonderful to work with, and professional. We had a little trouble getting in contact with them initially and could only come to tour the wedding sites mid-day on a week day because it was the off season, but once we knew that we wanted to get married at Stan Hywet, the staff was very on-point and communicative.

True, it is pricey. But they set up everything for us, they have their own tent in case of rain so we wouldn't have needed to rent one, and both the groom and I had our own attendants with us telling us where we needed to be on the big day. Cindy ran the rehearsal for us and really thought of everything. I should also note that our photography is absolutely gorgeous, which is the kicker that made the price tag worth it for us.

Some caveats I do feel the need to mention are that there is no indoor back-up space, only the windowed tent, and there is no photography indoors (so rain would really limit your photography). Chairs do cost extra after the first 20 you rent. Also, if you're going to wear a ballgown and 4" heels like I did, you'll want to practice walking over grass, uneven flagstones, and stairs--there are a lot of tripping hazards!

Stan Hywet Hall was an awesome place to get married at. We had our wedding outdoors on the West Terrace. The house was a beautiful back drop for the ceremony. The Stan Hywet team did a great job at helping me set up the wedding. It was raining on our wedding day, and the event team did a great job of setting up the wedding in the short window without rain. The back up plan was a large tent, I'm glad we didn't have to use it. I do feel it was a little bit expensive to have the wedding there. It was a gorgeous wedding and Stan Hywet was the perfect place.

We couldn't have asked for a better ceremony location for our wedding. And it's VERY obvious that Stan Hywet has done a lot of weddings before because their planning, organization, and coordination the day of was extraordinary. I stressed so much about the details about how everyone is going to know when to be where and what to do next, etc. and the staff at Stan Hywet was great about helping us through every detail. They walk you through every step during the wedding rehearsal the day before. Then the day of, they have multiple staff members attending to you with headsets in constant communication. There was someone with the groom and groomsmen at all times and one with bride and bridesmaid as well. The bride and bridesmaids get shuttled to the spot where they made their entrance for the outdoor ceremony. We had a large bridal room to get ready beforehand. Our wedding was at 2:30 and the room became available to us only at noon but nothing we couldn't work around. Bride and bridesmaids all got dressed in the bridal room beforehand after getting our makeup and hair done before arrival. The bridal room is not ideal for artistic photos of dress, shoes, and rings though so may be wise to figure out where to do those pictures elsewhere. Overall, the location for the wedding was stunning and everything went very smoothly start to finish. We also had several hours after the ceremony to take pictures on the property with no visitors to Stan Hywet in sight as the staff members will coordinate which spots we would be going to take pictures next.

We chose to go with Stan Hywet for our outdoor ceremony and indoor/outdoor reception and we could not have been happier with our decision. The planning process was seamless, the staff was nothing but a pleasure to work with and everything went smoothly from start to finish. We worked with Cindy in the rentals department and she exceeded our expectations on each detail. The only downside to using Stan Hywet was that there were not many options for decorating the Carriage house space since we were unable to use many items to adhere decorations to the columns. Also- the lights in the tent do not dim, which was a small annoyance once dinner was over. Other than that, our guests were dazzled and our day was beautiful. The care and commitment Stan Hywet devotes to its property, gardens and those scheduling life-changing events is very evident. We will have many happy memories for years to come.

We had the best weather for a lovely day at Stan Hywet. You can't find a more beautiful place for an outdoor wedding venue. They were well organized and coordinated everything to help us have a great ceremony.

Not only is this a gorgeous venue for a wedding, but you get three day of coordinators to help keep things on track throughout the big day. As an event planner myself, I was very stressed out about giving up control and letting people I never worked with execute all the details for our ceremony and reception. I had nothing to worry about - they know what they're doing! I think they could sense my nervousness in giving up control, as they were very patient about going over the same items with me multiple times for things like when vendors were arriving. They weren't always the most responsive throughout the planning process - we had some emails go unanswered for up to four days and had to play phone tag a few times, but it all worked out. Their philosophy is not to bother you during the planning process, but just to be there, waiting, if you have questions, so you can't expect them to reach out and check up on you during the process. While they weren't always as responsive as I would have liked, they certainly were willing to work with me and make my ideas happen. It's well worth the money - you get a beautiful setting and the peace of mind of having their event team managing the details.

Stan Hywet provided excellent service the day of, and a beautiful spot for our ceremony. However, trying to contact them and get details finalized beforehand was difficult. The rental price is steep, but included staff on hand the whole time we were there, water, and a backup tent for inclement weather if needed.

I found Stan Hywet to be the perfect location for my Wedding Ceremony we were on the West Terrace and it was PERFECT! We were lucky the rain went away before our guests arrived. And I was extremely happy that they provided transportation to the guests that had a harder time getting around. The staff was so nice and they worked out every detail with me. I was a little disappointed to see that after all the planning that there were to many chairs set up and that the extra chairs were in a location that I did not approve of. (it makes me feel like they didn’t have time to tare down after the previous wedding yet I was first bride to even book for 2012 let alone the day itself). It was a challenge to get a hold of the staff by email or phone at one point but once in contact things went much smoother! But I would like to thank the Stan Hywet staff for all their help around the premises the day before and the day of!

The venue is gorgeous cant beat the scenery. It was a fairy tale wedding. Very expensive. The wedding coordinators though didnt have great customer service until the day of the wedding. I had a lot of questions that werent answered until the last minute, which made everything stressful. For the amount of money paid for ceremony and venue I felt I should have had more information on everything prior to the wedding day or last minute phone calls.

The location is absolutely stunning. Our ceremony and reception were held here. Overall, the wedding went very smooth. We ran into a few issues as far as photos and live music due to other ceremonies happening throughout the day. For the most part, the staff was easy to work with and the location could not be more beautiful.

Waste of money

I would not recommend this venue for a reception. The place is beautiful, but the amount of money spent I did not expect so much to be wrong at our reception... our coordinator John yelled at my husband for being late to the reception due to construction. The entire table seating was not how it was supposed to be set up. Our parents were literally seated all the way at the back away from the bridal table. When dropping off the reception decorations no one was there to meet us we were rushed out within minutes. The wedding coordinator let in our bridal party before the introductions. Not even halfway through the reception our coordinator was no where to be found. Basically for the amount of money spent and the time spent planning I would have expected MUCH better out of Stan Hywet. The only plus to this reception site were the photo locations.
