A Dream Come True

Stacey blew us away with her eye, image quality, timing and presence... we could go on. We did an engagement photo shoot and wedding package with her, and will not use another photographer unless somehow forced to. Even our guests loved Stacey and continued talking about her weeks after our wedding - not to mention, they plan to frame her photos of them! If we could leave 6 stars we would!

Stacey is so hands on and down-to-earth she makes working with her seem like you're working with a long lost friend. She captures amazing photos and goes above and beyond in customer service. I'd recommend her to everyone and will be using her again!

Stacey was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. She was 100% committed to making the process as easy as possible, and was genuinely attentive to our needs and wants. I am not great at having my picture taken, and as a bride my anxiety was already through the roof. Stacey presented herself as a friend and made the whole process completely seamless and easy. I would recommend her in a heartbeat to anyone who asked.

Stacey was WONDERFUL!! She is fast on her feet, has an amazing eye, and is able to get great shots from everyone!! She has an almost intuitive sense of how she can be helpful, and a fantastic ability to herd cats; she got all of our family/party posed pictures done in under half an hour, and was shooting all night! We just got the first preview pictures yesterday (a little over three weeks), and MY GOD THEY LOOK AMAZING!! We couldn't be happier with the work she did!!

Stacey Vaeth Photography was a dream come true of a vendor for our wedding. She was affordable (compared to other local photographers), tailored a package to our needs, spent time getting to know us to provide customized service, and handled our massive families with ease and professionalism. She was great at finding the perfect posed and natural shots, and managed to capture moments we didn't even realize were happening at our wedding. She even delivered her final product early!

Stacey did an outstanding job photographing our daughters wedding! We really wanted a photographer that approached photography as art, and we are not disappointed! She captured the bride and groom and the entire event without it feeling staged. Her attention to detail with lighting and background added to exceptional shots. We now have over 1000 pictures to choose from with very few we want to eliminate! I would hire her again with out a second thought. Both Stacey and her assistant were professional, on time and blended well into the group. They added to the event and we could not be more pleased with the final results!

My husband and I used stacey for both our engagement photos and for our wedding. She was a joy to work with and her photography is incredible. I was looking for a photographer who would use the world around me to capture the perfect shots and that was exactly what she did. I have had numerous comliments on my wedding's photography. Stacey was a joy to work with her and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a photographer.

Stacey is the consumate professional. She was truly a pleasure to work with, and made our wedding run as smoothly as possible. She has a great presence about her, making sure that our requests were executed. She was especially impressive with the kids. My wife and I made it a priority to work with the best photographer out there, and Stacey is second to none.

Stacey is the best! Not only is she a great person, but she is truly a professional artist. Her photos are so amazing and vibrant. Stacey was so flexible with my ideas, and even tolerated some extra driving because of specific shots I wanted. She even made an extra trip for a walk-through with me at my venue before my wedding day. Stacey made me feel so comfortable the day of my wedding, and I felt that I just had another friend at my wedding. I am on cloud nine about the sneak preview photos I got from her. Stacey was amazing to work with! She completely understood what we wanted out of our photos and delivered on it. She also was fantastic to be around on the wedding day. As a bride, you actually end up spending a lot of your time with the photographer, so you want to choose someone who puts you at ease. Stacey does a great job of this. Working with Stacey Vaeth was one of the best experiences my fiance and I have had with any of the vendors we've had the pleasure to work with. She was fun and made all the photo shoots we've done with her, comfortable. She photographed the proposal and we did an engagement session with her so far. We booked her for our wedding as well. We were more than pleased with all the photos Stacey shot. She has a great personality that makes you feel at ease and open up. You will be more than pleased with her style of photography. She keeps you active so you don't get stuck in the same pose for very long and you don't feel staged. She tries to get to know you and is open to suggestions in regard to what theme you want your photos to have. You will love her work!

Working with Stacey was awesome. She was exceedingly professional, but down-to-earth. Making her very easy to work with.

Our wedding was held at a non-traditional venue (we rented out a restaurant). Stacey's input was critical in helping make the venue work for a wedding. Other vendors we interviewed seemed unsure/intimidated by our venue, but Stacey (and all the vendors we ultimately worked with) jumped right in, completely undaunted (check out her website and you'll see that a restaurant is far from the most "non-traditional" venues she's photographed).

We also wanted to take pictures around DC before our wedding. Stacey was completely up for the challenge and scouted locations ahead of time. The timing went off without a hitch. Stacey got some amazing shots during the ceremony and reception, but I don't remember seeing her, which speaks to her ability to get the photos without being intrusive.

The photos we've seen so far are absolutely lovely. Neither me nor my family had much idea what we were paying for (we have some atrocious family portraits hanging on our walls), but all of us are absolutely thrilled with the way this day was captured. I hope to work with Stacey in the future.

Hiring Stacey was the absolute, #1 best decision that I made for my wedding and engagement pictures. She is a dream to work with, just lovely to be around and she has a way of making everyone in the pictures feel comfortable - and this SHOWS in the final products. I love her eye for color and lighting and felt from the moment I spoke to her on the phone like she knew me and would represent me and my now husband well. Our engagement pictures are some of the most beautiful pictures ever taken of either of us and I am already impressed with the early proofs from our wedding. Put it this way - when our wedding was cancelled in November a week before the date because of Hurricane Sandy, I refused to commit to a new date until I knew Stacey would be available because in my head, she was the one I knew I wanted capturing the memories.

On the actual day, she was amazing - herding our large bridal party and the families through the pictures with complete calmness and ease. Her personality kept smiles on everyones' faces - even through the hour long marathon that were our formal shots.

My family and bridal party were all so, so happy with her and I had numerous people come up to me to tell me how happy they were that I brought her from DC to NY (our wedding location). I not only have already recommended her to other brides, but I have sent her information to my friends with kids. On a day when emotions are running high, Stacey was a calm breeze and I think that the beauty of the pictures comes from her talent at taking the pictures and really making the people she is working with feel happy! Thank you Stacey!

A true professional. We had a great experience. Stacey knew what shots to take and took what we had mentioned into account, then delivered. She was on time and thankfully didn't worry about her shot when all our friends pulled out their phones for their money shots. Photographers can be expensive but Stacey was very in line with and you have to remember you pay for what you get. The day of our wedding we had a storm move thru and after the the storm the sky was so amazing. Stacey quickly grabbed us and knew what shots to take, they were absolutely amazing. We have already recommend her to our friends and family.

Stacey was AMAZING. She was able to keep things moving on such a special day while still finding time to capture special moments. When my husband and I reviewed the pictures we were completely overwhelmed - there were so many favorites! We were looking for one or two "iconic" pictures for the day, but we ended up with shot after shot of pure joy. Stacey has a way of finding not only specific moments in time that are special, but the personality of each subject really came through. Her work is honest, beautiful, and sincere. Just like her.

Stacey was fantastic - she was able to capture all the highlights beautifully. There are so many pictures she took that we are stunned that she got - we don't know how she got into position, but she did without interrupting or interfering. We had a small venue, which makes that even more impressive. Additionally, there were some unique elements to our wedding that required effort on her part around to be involved in and she was willing and enthusiastic. I definitely recommend using her for your events and portraits.

Stacey was great. The photos are beautiful, and she was a delight to work with. What's more, she didn't make her presence known or become a distraction during the event. She got all the shots I wanted during the ceremony and reception, but it didn't feel like we were being stalked by papparazzi.

We met with Stacey while interviewing several photographers in the DC area and immediately knew she was the perfect fit for us. She makes you feel really comfortable and understands that each couple is different and will have different needs/wants. She spent a lot of time before the wedding walking us through the location and potential photo locations around the city. This really put us at ease! On the day of, the photographer is with you during all the intimate moments (just the two of you for quiet moment after the ceremony), so you want someone that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. She is exactly that. Our photos are absolutely gorgeous and we could not be happier. We liked that we have a variety of styles from formal, candid, close-up, the full scene etc. She is incredibly quick to respond with any questions, ordering prints, and is happy to give advice on what to order for those of us without an artistic eye. I'm sure we'll use her for future family photos!

I can say without reservation that Stacey is an amazing photographer. She was extremely professional throughout our wedding weekend. She was excellent in organizing the family photos and ushering people through them as quickly as possible so that we could begin our personal photos & guests could enjoy the cocktail hour. Every shot we wanted was not only part of our catalog but presented in a fresh format. We continue to get compliments on our wedding album. Additionally, we have referred Stacey to numerous friends & family
for weddings, baby pictures, & event photos -no one has ever come away unsatisfied with her results.

Stacey Vaeth is amazing. I decided to use Stacey after seeing how beautifully she captured my sister's wedding in Washington, D.C. She was so professional but very easy to work with. You can tell her creative mind is working the whole time, but you really don't get a feel for her true genius until you see the pictures.

She is also very flexible, as I live in New York and my wedding was in NY. She did such a great job, and my bridal party and family love working with her.

I can't wait for other family members to get married, have children, and/or have another special occasion just so that she can be our photographer again.

Best Decision Ever=hiring Stacey to shoot our wedding and engagement pictures.

I'm extremely picky about photos and found Stacey after hours of research. After we met her I immediately knew I wanted to work with her. She has such a calm demeanor and really puts you right at ease. It's a little odd having someone capturing intimate moments, but Stacey was so non-invasive that we did not even notice she was taking pictures after a while.

She was able to help suggest locations for our engagement photo session and took such amazing pictures-unique but not odd, simple but not boring. She also helped us design a save the date based on one of the engagement pictures-the turn around was so quick on the proofs and cards.

We had a pre-wedding consultation where we were able to discuss any concerns and go over our vision with her. She scouted out all of the spaces prior to the wedding day so that she could plan shots to keep everything moving along quickly the day of the wedding-major plus!

She showed up right on time-early even the day of the wedding. The formal shots were a breeze (we provided a formal shot list). Stacey was great with the kids in the formal shots and always kind and patient with our families. We hardly noticed her the at the ceremony and reception because she was so discreet and stealthy. I was blown away by our pictures and just thrilled with the quality of her work.

We opted for a second shooter-really glad we did. Gracie was professional and easy to work with as well and was able to capture shots that we wouldn't have seen otherwise.

Stacey was always on time, responsive and prompt with proof deliveries. I'm so excited we found her and can't wait until we have another occasion to work with her. Thank you Stacey!!

Stacey's artistry, professionalism, and collaboration is top notch -- she is the go-to wedding photographer if you are a DC local or especially if DC is your destination wedding. Our San Francisco-to-DC wedding plan was as complicated as General Patton's military maneuvers, but Stacey was so easy to work with and prepared for any variable... see below.

The Dream: A ceremony under the cherry blossoms at full bloom during Peak Week with 50 friends & family basking in the springtime sunset.

The Reality: The Jefferson Memorial under renovation, large cranes, fencing, and beige 10-foot corrals for equipment lock-up. Wedding Day weather: rain, wind, 45-degrees, and hail an hour before the ceremony.

A week before The Day, she helped us scout the Tidal Basin location for the best angles, even though I was starting to hyperventilate :) During the ceremony, she was stealthy and non-invasive, but captured everything from multiple angles. She even coordinated a variety of fun, 50-guest group photos before the blustery winds kicked up and the sky darkened. I'm not sure, but she may have put in "the order" to Mother Nature to stop that dang hail and wind long enough for 2 hours of sunshine during the ceremony...

Prepared and detail-oriented, Stacey requests a shot-list for those "must-haves," but the photos are far from ordinary, static, or boring. Her photos are beautiful, intimate, and capture the whole day -- which most brides and grooms miss in the wedding frenzy. And as a bonus, she knows how to calm down the inner-Bridezilla and get the essence of your special day. Thank you, Stacey!!

I chose Stacey as my photographer based on her online reviews and her very reasonable rates for a party in Old Town this past August.

Stacey has a great personality, and was very easy to work with. Her calm demeanor and sense of humor definitely came in handy when dealing with getting the families together for the group photographs.

And, of course, her photographs are beautiful. She was great at moving around to capture all different people at the party, and her sunset and evening photos all had beautiful colors. Her package deals for albums/photographs/digital copies are very reasonable, as well.

Stacey is definitely the best!

We highly recommend Stacey Vaeth for any photography needs. She photographed both our engagement pictures as well as our wedding and we were extremely happy with coverage of both events. For the engagement shots, we had trouble linking up on a cold day and by the time we did I was on the verge of canceling. But Stacey effectively calmed the situation, encouraged us to proceed, and the resulting photos were amazing. They could not have been better. For the wedding, she traveled to the event and captured our special day with her wonderful perspective and artistic eye. She is truly professional and follows up to ensure that all details are effectively taken care of promptly and without any hassle. We look forward to hiring her again for pregnancy/baby photos in the near future (fingers crossed!)!
