Darrell was the best DJ we could've asked for at our wedding!

Darrell was the DJ for my wife and I's wedding, and he did an excellent job! We could not have asked for a better experience. The music selection was great and Darrell kept the dance floor going for the whole reception. Everyone, old and young, had a blast!

I had an amazing experience working with Darrell. He was excellent with keeping lines of communication open and answered all of my questions, quickly and professionally. He was even thrown a few curveballs the day of, and was able to make all of our requests happen. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ.

Spotlight Productions, Darrell Osborne was so helpful in putting together a timeline that worked well and please everyone involved. He was very professional and responded in a timely manner to any requests or concerns that we had. The DJ services really brought the the fun to celebration. A night to remember!

Darrell was absolutely amazing! He played all our favorite music from country to oldies to R&B! We truly had the best night dancing our hearts out. Highly recommend Darrell if you’re needing a DJ!

Amazing DJ

Darrell was the perfect DJ for our wedding on 4/2/22. He was always extremely responsive and helpful throughout my planning process and even communicated/worked together with our hired video projector vendor to connect his system with theirs for a seamless video and sound experience. The dance floor was completely full the entire night and we, along with all our guests, had a blast!!!

Amazing, stress-free, fun!!

Darrell made our wedding amazing! He really listened to what we wanted and made it happen. We loved that he had online planning forms for us to fill out by ourselves first, and then spent over an hour on the phone with us finalizing our choices. We planned our wedding super quick, and he made the planning way less stressful. He was always willing to answer any questions we had. He also listed to every single request we had for him, and was super flexible when we changed things last minute. Not only did we love his DJ work, our guests did too. Would definitely hire him again!!!

Best DJ in Atlanta/North Georgia

I would highly recommend Darrell if you are looking for a DJ for your next wedding or event! He turned our reception into a non-stop dancing party. I've been looking back at the pictures and everyone was having a blast. He was extremely professional, responsive and did an amazing job customizing tracks for our ceremony, cocktail hour, first dance, and the reception. Absolutely perfect!

Darrell was the best DJ I could have asked for! He was able to get every single song I requested for the ceremony (even some more obscure songs). He helped move the night along with a perfect flow and helped keep us on track for all the different events that come with a wedding. He was kind to everyone and an absolute joy to work with. He took a lot of stress off of wedding planning because I knew I could trust him with the music and keep the guests having fun on the dance floor! I highly HIGHLY recommend you book him for your wedding. He is extremely professional and also just a really nice guy to work with. Thank you again Darrell!!!

Best dj ever!

BEST dj! He was absolutely amazing very professional & all my guest loved the music & him!! Request we’re a big hit & he did his best to make sure everything was played!! He was amazing with responding & helping us pick out songs we weren’t sure about! Pick him & you won’t regret it! I promise!!! Very fun & hung out with us like he was a guest! DJ Darrell rocked!

He also helped me do a special speech to my dad & really worked hard on making sure this happened! Made our special day so much better to have an amazing dj!

A great dj!

We discovered Darrell at another wedding we attended, and the music was the #1 thing we remembered and loved most about that wedding! My husband and I knew we had to get him for our wedding! Darrell did an exceptional job! The platform he uses for the bride and groom to input music into during the planning process is extremely helpful and easy (He even provides song recommendation lists if you're struggling to find something). He is professional, responsive, accommodating, and super easy-going. He knew exactly the kind of feel and music we wanted on our wedding day, and kept everyone out on the dance floor the entire night! We are very happy that we chose to go with Darrell, and we would recommend him to anyone! :)

Darrell was AMAZING in accommodating all of our needs during planning our COVID wedding. He was thorough in the questions he asked to help make our day/music run smoothly and gave us many ideas that made the day even more special! Darrell brought all the sound equipment needed and worked with the other vendors to hook up sound and any other things they needed throughout the day.

variety of music, everyone had a blast

Darrell was so accommodating with my date change and was very attentive during the whole planning process. I liked that he had lists of songs we wanted to hear, would like to hear, and did not want to hear. He played a variety of music so all ages had a blast. He was very responsive to all my emails and made the wedding go very smoothly. His lighting and speakers were awesome and gave it a good party atmosphere following the ceremony.

He killed it

Darrell was awesome! He was so clear and concise when it came to every little detail for the wedding, and even helped out videographer when there was a little glitch. He dealt with my wedding brain also during the whole planning process and was so calm and collective about it all which really helped! 10/10 would recommend him!

The Perfect DJ!

Darrell was an incredible DJ! Planning our wedding out of town was a little stressful, we didn't even have the chance to meet Darrell in person before the wedding day. But, Darrell made sure to actively communicate with us via phone and email and delivered exactly what we wanted for our wedding. He was extremely professional and was able to guide us through the entire planning process. He made sure to cover everything that we could have possibly needed; most of which we didn't even know we had to think about! He honored our music preferences while being able to feel out the room and keep people on the dance floor. He made the night perfect!

Wedding DJ sand MC

Darrell was awesome!! We had some issues figuring out if we wanted to change our ceremony space to indoors at the last minute (it was a very hot day) and Darrell was very understanding and had setup plans for indoors and outdoors! Once we got to the reception, he always knew the right music to play. Our reception was one big dance party, and that’s exactly what we wanted. I will be recommending Darrell to my two friends getting married this summer.

Incredible experience with SWE and Darrell!

Darrell came to us highly recommended by friends who had used him for their wedding and we were not misled! Darrell was easy to work and communicate with. The process of picking all of the wedding music can be stressful but Darrell helped us along the way and has it down to a science. Even my mom commented after the wedding on what an incredible job he did keeping the event flowing seamlessly. I've been to another wedding since ours that he did and it was another great event as well. We can't recommend Darrell enough!

A DJ that satisfies the 1 AND the 1,000!

Darrell served as our DJ/MC, and throughout the entire planning, I felt reassured and in good hands despite my many plates in the air! Darrell truly knows how to make each wedding its own. I felt my music preferences and personal touches--which included cinematic film scores and 1950's "Classics"--were beautifully captured while meeting the interests of my guests of all ages and backgrounds. Darrell knows how to give structure while still allowing each bride and groom's ideas to shine through! He knows how to satisfy the one AND the one thousand. We had one couple who had never danced together in their 20+ years of marriage--not even on their wedding day! They shared their first dance together during our anniversary dance in which we dedicated a bouquet to the couple that had been married the longest, which was Darrell's AMAZING idea in lieu of a bouquet and garter toss! Darrell presented such confidence even in my less-than-organized moments, and I am beyond thankful for him and his services on our special day!

Darrell was FANTASTIC. He was one of our favorite vendors from our wedding! He was super professional and responsible in the planning of everything, so that made me feel really comfortable moving into the big weekend. I would have been nervous with a DJ that seemed flakey or non-responsive, but Darrell could not have been more organized or helpful. Then when it was finally time for the wedding he was an AWESOME DJ. He took our suggestions but then read the room really well and the dance floor was PACKED. My friends are all dancers and musicians and we are PICKY about the kind of music that we'll dance to and everyone was up and dancing and having a blast the entire night. I can't recommend him enough.

We hired Darrell to DJ our wedding in Athens, GA. From our very first meeting to the end of our reception, he was fantastic and energetic, and worked to ensure that our reception would be a blast for both us and our guests.
Darrell had us complete a survey so he could understand what types of music we wanted played during the cocktail hour and dinner portions of our evening, as well as what songs we wanted for our scheduled dances. He also had us complete lists of songs we needed to hear, wouldn’t mind hearing, and definitely didn’t want played during the reception. This was great, because we could ensure our favorite songs that would get our friends and family on the floor were played during the reception.
The day before our reception, my dad requested that our first dance song had a few extra seconds of introduction music added to so we could do a little routine before our dance began. I called Darrell, and he mixed the perfect beat that corresponded with our song to add a few extra seconds at the beginning of the song. It worked perfectly, and he did it with less than 24 hours to go before the reception!
We asked for “Acoustic” music for our cocktail hour and dinner, and Darrell completely nailed it! We got so many compliments from our guests on how great the music was and how well it fit the atmosphere! Darrell also played all the songs we had requested, but also took a few on the spot requests from wedding guests and ourselves. It kept everyone out on the dance floor the whole evening!
Darrell’s energy and talent made our event so much fun, and he was a great MC throughout the evening. He has a great ability to read a room and play music based on the energy of the crowd and what he thought would get everyone on the floor and keep them there. We had so much fun dancing to the great song selection queued by Darrell, and our guests loved every minute of our reception!

Darrell is the definition of a professional. He was a big part of making our wedding a night we will not forget. There is so much planning involved with a wedding and Darrell made the DJ aspect one thing that we did not need to worry about. Would definitely recommend to others.

I absolutely LOVED working with Darrell at SWE. My biggest request and hope for our wedding reception was that our dance floor would stay alive for the whole night, and boy did Darrell deliver! Not only did he do a great job of selecting popular, well-known songs that were easy for anyone to dance to, he also took requests, helped guide the ceremony and reception to run flawlessly, and provided our guests with well-timed updates on the flow/schedule of the night.

Darrell is so personable, and he was a huge help during our meetings and planning process leading up the big day, using his expertise to give us suggestions and guidelines on how to schedule and time out the day from the ceremony to the send-off. I could not recommend Darrell and SWE more positively!

Darrell was fantastic at our wedding! He was great at answering my questions and his website was amazing when it came time to plan the specifics. He was able to cut down our first dance and my Father/Daughter dance and it sounded fantastic! Darrell with Spotlight Weddings and Events did an absolutely fantastic job. We gave him a general guideline of what we wanted in the music (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception), and he knocked it out of the park. We had numerous folks come up to us during and after the reception to compliment the music selection. He was also incredibly responsive and addressed any issues before they could actually arise. We are very grateful for the job he did and could not have asked for a better DJ.

WOW! Darrell was nothing short of amazing!!! His rating should be allowed to go beyond 5 stars!!! Before booking Spotlight Weddings and Events, Darrell offered to meet with my Fiancé and I to go over any questions we had prior to the booking process. We were sold immediately! Throughout the duration of my wedding planning process, Darrell made us feel as if we were the top priority on his list. Days before our wedding, he spent nearly 2 hours with my Fiancé and I going over every detail, making recommendations, honoring our last minute song request changes, and squeezing our last minute song edits in between other obligations that he had in progress. I've received an incredible amount of compliments from my friends and family regarding Darrell and his performance at our wedding. He was hands down the BEST DJ/MC I've ever experienced/seen at a wedding!! He made sure everything went according to our plans and our agreement, and he certainly did not disappoint! His new modern booth was amazing and added a wonderful touch to our reception! You have to see it to believe it!! The easiest way to write this review is to say if you are looking for the most professional DJ who can ensure the energy remains during your reception or your audio during the ceremony is perfect, Darrell is the only person I would recommend! Darrell is the best DJ I have ever worked with! I work for an event venue and a DJ can make or break an event. His attention to detail and ability to hit on the unexpressed wishes of his clients is unmatched. When it came to my wedding he was the first vendor we booked! Darrell was an amazing DJ! Our party included a wide variety of taste in music and he was able to please everyone. The dance floor was always packed - sometimes with young people and sometimes with us older folks. He even correctly guessed the music preference of honorees and they raced to the dance floor for the first dance. Darrell did an awesome job!

If you are looking for a wedding DJ, look no further than Darrell Osborne. He did exactly what we asked and needed for our wedding in June. He is very approachable and knowledgeable, and above all professional. He would send reminders of items we hadn't yet agreed on as well as suggest different variations of songs if we were torn between some. My wife and I got engaged in May of 2015 and were recently married in May of 2016. We knew when our wedding planning began that finding a great DJ was one of the most important parts of the wedding. We certainly found one with Darrell. When the planning began, he took the time to meet us for lunch and put together a great timeline of events and gave us great suggestions on music, how the ceremony should go, etc. He was always extremely quick to respond to any questions we had and made us feel like we were in great hands. During our ceremony he did a great job of sticking to the schedule, playing all the music that we suggested, and kept the wedding attendants involved. Our first dance and parents' dances could not have gone any better.
The music that he played at the reception was phenomenal with such a great variety for all ages. We had numerous friends who had upcoming weddings that went up and asked him if he could please DJ their weddings on the spot. I had been to dozens of weddings before and I had never seen so many people out on the dance floor and just having a great time.
Do yourself a favor and go ahead and book him as soon as you can!!

I absolutely loved working with Darryl for my wedding! He was friendly, easy to work with, and extremely professional throughout the entire process. My husband and I had so much fun due to Darryl's flexibility to play requests and his ability to get everyone on the dance floor when they needed enticing. Absolutely awesome experience. Darrell contacted us frequently to check in with how our planning was going throughout our engagement and really helped move us along. The day of the wedding, he really kept the pace going and everything flowed smoothly. Without a wedding coordinator, things could have gotten sloppy, but Darrell ran the show. Darrell from Special Event Productions was a wonderful DJ at this Sorority Formal event. The lighting he provided during the event was phenomenal. There are few things better when planning a wedding than an amazing vendor! Darrell was absolutely perfect. If you are thinking about having music at your wedding, you *must* hire Special Event Productions. Darrell was kind, personable, flexible, professional, and worth every penny. We had some amazing vendors at our wedding, but SEP was by far our best. This is the farthest thing you can get from a "cheesy" DJ- it was nothing but excellent sound quality professionally executed. I had a extremely specific list of songs I wanted in a specific order, and Darrell made it happen, no problem. His advice the whole way through was helpful and spot-on. With everything going on that day, I didn't once worry about the music. He was there well ahead of time, playing the music I wanted, when I wanted, without asking any questions. This is the best DJ Ive ever experienced.

Our event was a 60's themed volunteer appreciation party. Darrell had all the best 60's music for us, had excellent timing and intuition when it came to filling the lulls of the event, and was extremely personable and flexible! This man is amazing. He was right on top of everything that we wanted and made every wish come true. We could not have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! During the planning process, Darrell was super friendly, organized, efficient, flexible with our complicated schedule, gave honest advice when asked, and had a quick response time on emails and phone calls. On the wedding day, Darrell made sure everything ran smoothly, communicated with our other vendors, and even made sure a surprise for my husband during the reception went off without a hitch. But most importantly, he kept our guest dancing the ENTIRE night. And this could have been a challenge, because even though Darrell gave us plenty of opportunities to give him music suggestions for the evening, we gave him absolutely nothing. Besides the first dance and the dances with the parents, we gave him no other specifications on music. And we didn't need too. He had it under control and our guests are still talking about how much fun they had at our reception. I wish we had had a bigger dance floor! Darrell is awesome! You will not be disappointed!

Darrell of Special Event Productions provided DJ and master of ceremony services for my wedding and he was absolutely top notch. I would hands-down recommend Darrell at Special Event Productions, as well as call him again to work with him for any future event. He was initially recommended to me by a colleague who had paid for him to travel to his destination wedding, and I can see why he insisted on using Special Event Productions. Darrell was always incredibly responsive, fun and easy to work with, organized, and clearly a true professional. We initially contracted with Darrell for DJ services and uplighting, but when I realized I needed to add on ceremony sound services, Darrell was completely flexible and happy to handle that as well. Darrell was WONDERFUL to work with. He made the whole planning process so incredibly easy. I loved using his online planning forms to make our reception exactly the way we wanted it down to every last song. A master of ceremonies, in every sense of the word. Darrell takes the time to really listen, and asks enough questions that at first you wonder how much some of it even matters… and then the day comes, and you realize as that he has spent a good deal of time thinking about how to make it special for you. As you can probably tell from pictures, his visual presentation is of the highest quality, in a manner perfectly representative of his above-and-beyond attitude. We asked for high energy, and he kept the whole room dancing for the entire reception. Every detail of his role in our day was so great that it was hard to tell if he had done it a million times or if he was just naturally good at it. Either way, we felt like we had worked with a true professional, and our money was well spent. I don't mean to ramble, but every couple in the Athens area deserves to know these things before they look any further. If Darrell has your date available, hire him. If not, change the date.

Darrell did a great job at our wedding. He provided service for both the ceremony and reception and could not have done a better job. Everyone had a great time, and I was so happy to see the dance floor packed for the reception. He played music that appealed to both young and old alike. We were so pleased with the entire event. Darrell was everything we wanted in a DJ! He was incredibly professional and responsive during the planning stages - quick to provide advice and help us out at every stage. He also graciously accommodated all our (picky!) music requests. Sound for the ceremony was flawless. Emcee duties were handled beautifully - far from the cheeseball delivery we all fear when we think of wedding DJs. His music selections for the coctail hour, dinner and dance portions of the evening were spot on. A good time was had by all and no one wanted to leave the dance floor at the end of the evening! Thank you, Darrell!

Darrell was professional and made our wedding day comfortable and fun. He had great ideas and was very accommodating to what we wanted. He was more than a DJ for us, he moved the night along without a hitch, always announcing what was coming up. There was never an awkward moment and we all danced the night away!

As an event planner at the John Oliver Michael House, I highly recommend Darrell to my clients, family and friends who are looking for a professional, all around amazing deejay who will make their wedding reception a unique event to remember!

Throughout the wedding planning process, Darrell responds quickly to questions through email or text. He knows how to make a wedding reception run flawlessly and is able create a wonderful timeline for the reception that makes the event run smoothly and is tailored to the bride and groom. His online planning form is a quick, easy and efficient way for my clients go online and submit music requests, special songs for the reception and important event details... which in turn makes the planning process less stressful! Darrell is always so willing to meet with or contact my brides as needed and always tailors the event to their personal taste and personality... which is so important at a wedding!

On the day of the event, Darrell really goes above and beyond! He arrives early, dresses professionally and has an attractive set up that adds to the overall look of the wedding reception. Darrell knows how to get your guests on the dance floor and keep them there! He adds so much to a wedding with his professionalism and positive personality. Darrell is also an excellent coordinator at the reception. I joke that when he is at our venue I don't even need to be at the reception because he is so on top of everything! He is a wedding coordinator's dream come true deejay!

A huge thank you to Darrell for ALWAYS providing excellent service to our clients at the John Oliver Michael House! Darrell was the best! He worked with us every step of the way -- helping with the flow of the ceremony as well as what lighting and slideshow system would work best with our venue. At the reception he was great! The dance floor was packed all night as he played the perfect mix of music for our crowd. I would highly recommend his services. Darrell was definitely a large part of making it our perfect night.

Very accommodating to all our requests while providing helpful feedback and recommendations throughout the entire planning period. Although we had a list of songs prior to the reception, everyone decided they wanted to hear a different song. The song is obscure and Darrell did not have it, but he used one of our Iphones to make it happen seamlessly. Many other DJs would not be that flexible.

Darrell did an excellent job DJing for our wedding reception. We did 2 hours of dinner music followed by 2 hours of dancing. The selection of music for each was left mostly up to him and he did a great job at keeping everyone dancing. When we laid out our plans for the cake cutting and toast, he help keep everything on track. I couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommended!

Darrell was awesome! Very prompt to get back to me, and he covered all the bases! He had EVERYONE up, dancing, and at the end of the night, no one wanted to stop! I would highly recommend him to anyone!

I wish there was a way to describe the excellence that was Darrell Osborne on my wedding day! There are truly no words to tell what a magnificent job he did! He is so easy and fun to work with and he made sure we were taken care of in every way he possibly could! I don't think there was a song we wanted that he didn't have, he kept our event running smoothly, and I felt like I got more than my moneys worth for the amount of effort he put in to every detail! It makes me want to get married all over again just thinking about how perfect everything was! Darrel was amazing! He gave me exactly what I wanted for my wedding. I could not have asked for a better DJ! I still have guests compliment him and ask for his information so they can hire him for their events. If you want your wedding reception to be fun and upbeat, Darrell is your man. Not only did he do an amazing job but he was also very professional. I will absolutely hire Darrell again in the future if I need a DJ!!

Darrell was top notch as our wedding DJ! He made the evening exactly what we wanted from start to finish. We have continuously received positive feedback from all of our guests regarding our DJ. Darrell conducted the entire evening to perfection! Our videographer even stayed 2 extra hours at no charge because the reception was unstoppable! Darrell always found the perfect combination of tunes to keep the party going. We would recommend Darrell to anyone and if you don't use his DJ services then you are definitely missing out! Darrell was great. He offered good advice and provided feedback when asked and knew when to let us make a decision on our own. Darrell coordinated all the details with the venue and everything went off without a hitch. He also did a great job "reading" the crowd and selected song choices that everyone enjoyed. We are 100% satisfied and are glad we chose Darrell to dj our wedding.
