Robby and the Spotlight Orchestra are an absolute wedding band dream come true. Robby himself is extremely approachable, professional, and above all, deeply passionate about his work. He goes above and beyond to make sure the wedding day is PERFECT, not only for the bride and groom, but also for their respective families. Listening to music is such a personal experience in everyday life; as such, wedding-day music should encapsulate the personal taste of the married couple in a way that is unique to them, in a manner than tells their story. Mine and husband’s stories were so multifaceted, that we didn’t believe that we could find someone who would be able to play all the genres of music we were hoping to hear on our special night. We were looking for someone who knew traditional Jewish music, Israeli music, American Music, Latin music, and Persian music. How EVER were we to find a single human being who would be able to play all the above? Luckily, my husband’s mother heard about Robby and his band through the grape vine, and relayed that he can do “anything your heart desires.” Being the realist I am, I didn’t think that was possible. Robby proved me wrong. Not only did he and the band personally play Jewish, Israeli, American, and Latin music, but he personally tracked down a Persian singer to appeal to my large Persian family. (The Persian singer fit into the band, as if authentically part of it for years. Also, I am convinced that Robby could have learned Persian/Farsi himself if we had asked I’m to, but he wanted to make sure that we had the authentic Persian experience… and he delivered). Robby and the band played multiple components of our wedding - the ceremony, the two cocktail hours, and a VERY long reception with a first-dance that lasted over 2 hours. He and the band were playing nearly straight from 4pm until 11:45pm without skipping a beat. The band played every song with the same energy, enthusiasm, and TALENT then the last. I am truly impressed at the amount of excitement that Robby was able to elicit from the guests. My husband, I, and our families had the night of our lives and it is TRULY thanks to Robby. We feel indebted to him for making our day so amazing. We cannot wait for our next celebration with Robby!! -

Rob Helperin is the bandleader for Spotlight Music, and he runs everything from a chamber music ensemble for a ceremony, a jazz quartet for cocktails and a full-on 12-piece orchestra with singer(s) for a rock & roll party. The best part is he works extensively with the clients (our son and his bride) to come up with a play list, work out entrances and exits, and can serve as the charming and sophisticated MC throughout the evening's festivities. Highly recommend Spotlight Music. -

Robby is a fast learner so he takes what you're looking for and what you want, inserts his expertise, and puts together the perfect band and playlist for your wedding. He is also a great emcee for your event. He won't take up too much of your time in the planning process. It will make you feel like something is missing because he really doesn't need much time to figure out exactly what you want and how everything is going to go down. So easy to work with and not a headache at all. You pay for what you get, so you won't find any deals with Robby. He is straightforward with his price and that's that. Worth every penny and the value was there! We love him and recommend him to ALL of our friends looking for a band! -
Hannah Sent on 10/10/2017I cannot say enough good things about Spotlight Music! Robby went above and beyond in every way to make my wedding truly spectacular. The musicians were incredibly talented, the variety of music they played was amazing, and we received so many compliments on the quality of the band. There are at least 4 couples who booked Spotlight Music after hearing them at our wedding and were equally as thrilled as we were. I highly, highly recommend them!

My wife and I were looking for a wedding band that could work with our budget, but not compromise the quality of things. Robby worked with us, told us the give and take of what different amounts of money would get us, and made SURE that one way or another no matter what we chose would still be good. He wasn't lying. We did not go with the more expensive options since we just couldn't, and yet the end result was perfection. He met with us, our wedding coordinator, made sure that each song would match up well to what the wedding party would walk down the aisle to, he also made great suggestions that we preferred over our ideas.
Plus he is SO friendly, seriously, just an entirely warm and lovely guy, and since then we have recommended him and his company to countless (not exaggerating, actually so many I lost count) other parties, weddings, events, and each one has thanked us for it after.
Easy to recommend this company for anyone!
