  Everything You Could EVER Ask For In A Wedding Band

  Robby and the Spotlight Orchestra are an absolute wedding band dream come true. Robby himself is extremely approachable, professional, and above all, deeply passionate about his work. He goes above and beyond to make sure the wedding day is PERFECT, not only for the bride and groom, but also for their respective families. Listening to music is such a personal experience in everyday life; as such, wedding-day music should encapsulate the personal taste of the married couple in a way that is unique to them, in a manner than tells their story. Mine and husband’s stories were so multifaceted, that we didn’t believe that we could find someone who would be able to play all the genres of music we were hoping to hear on our special night. We were looking for someone who knew traditional Jewish music, Israeli music, American Music, Latin music, and Persian music. How EVER were we to find a single human being who would be able to play all the above? Luckily, my husband’s mother heard about Robby and his band through the grape vine, and relayed that he can do “anything your heart desires.” Being the realist I am, I didn’t think that was possible. Robby proved me wrong. Not only did he and the band personally play Jewish, Israeli, American, and Latin music, but he personally tracked down a Persian singer to appeal to my large Persian family. (The Persian singer fit into the band, as if authentically part of it for years. Also, I am convinced that Robby could have learned Persian/Farsi himself if we had asked I’m to, but he wanted to make sure that we had the authentic Persian experience… and he delivered). Robby and the band played multiple components of our wedding - the ceremony, the two cocktail hours, and a VERY long reception with a first-dance that lasted over 2 hours. He and the band were playing nearly straight from 4pm until 11:45pm without skipping a beat. The band played every song with the same energy, enthusiasm, and TALENT then the last. I am truly impressed at the amount of excitement that Robby was able to elicit from the guests. My husband, I, and our families had the night of our lives and it is TRULY thanks to Robby. We feel indebted to him for making our day so amazing. We cannot wait for our next celebration with Robby!!

  Spotlight Music - From Uptown Funk to What a Wonderful World...

  Rob Helperin is the bandleader for Spotlight Music, and he runs everything from a chamber music ensemble for a ceremony, a jazz quartet for cocktails and a full-on 12-piece orchestra with singer(s) for a rock & roll party. The best part is he works extensively with the clients (our son and his bride) to come up with a play list, work out entrances and exits, and can serve as the charming and sophisticated MC throughout the evening's festivities. Highly recommend Spotlight Music.

  In your vibrant description of our capabilities, just wanna make sure it's not lost on anyone who likes to go big that 12 is no way our upper limit--we've routinely done ensembles of 20 or more. Truth be told, a 57 piece orchestra was actually the upper limit to date (complete with customized orchestrations we created based on the music chosen by the family). Anyone out there wanna go for 60? The lines are open, people. We have a pandemic to come back from! ;)

  Bride: When we met at first, we said we wanted a classy, fancy wedding that felt comfortable and haimish. And that's exactly what people said it was. Everyone said it was the most fun, joyous wedding they'd been to! And you're to thank for most of it. The musicians were amazing and perfect. And Jake is the best. Seriously, it was exactly what we were looking for and what we didn't even know we wanted. Thanks so much for giving us, our families, and our friends an amazing memory of our wedding.
  
  Groom: You have a gem in Jake, who rolled with everything and facilitated an amazing party (even with the Frisbee and the karaoke). People of every generation had something to dance to, the obligatory parts went smoothly, and Jake's just the nicest dude. We can't thank you, the musicians, and Jake enough for your part in as perfect a night as we could have asked for.

  The best. Robby is simply the best. He is a master of every kind of music. He will listen carefully to a couple's desires and preferences, create a shared program of music, and then present it with the highest musicality, professionalism, and joy. This guy loves weddings and it really shows.

  The band that Robby sent was incredible! Everyone at my daughter's wedding raved about them and wanted to know where they came from! The vocals were fantastic and the band kept the wedding guests up and dancing from the start of the wedding to the very end. Amazing, thank you!

  I can't say enough good things about Spotlight Music. To my husband and I, the most important thing about our wedding was the music-- we wanted an awesome live band. We live in LA but got married in Hawaii, so unfortunately even with a wedding planner the music options seemed slim. I found Robby at Spotlight music in LA and he coordinated an entire band for me, even flew musicians out from different islands to get the right fit. The band was AMAZING!! Definitely made our whole wedding. We wanted fun lively music, contemporary and some oldies, and they NAILED it, people were dancing the entire time. They even took requests and learned a song for our first dance, which was awesome, AND they backed me up to perfection while I sang "At Last" to my new husband! To top it off, they improved a hilarious fun song for my 1-year-old niece to bop around to. It was like having good friends (talented friends) play at your wedding. SO accommodating!!!!
  While we didn't have Robby's LA band play for us, we've seen videos and they are just AMAZING. So whether you're in LA or abroad, you can't go wrong with Spotlight Music. They do it all, and with a smile and an energy that is simply infectious. They will absolutely make your next event.

  Robby and his team have done many weddings we have been to, so we knew we had to use them! Robby is a fast learner so he takes what you're looking for and what you want, inserts his expertise, and puts together the perfect band and playlist for your wedding. He is also a great emcee for your event. He won't take up too much of your time in the planning process. It will make you feel like something is missing because he really doesn't need much time to figure out exactly what you want and how everything is going to go down. So easy to work with and not a headache at all. You pay for what you get, so you won't find any deals with Robby. He is straightforward with his price and that's that. Worth every penny and the value was there! We love him and recommend him to ALL of our friends looking for a band!

  I cannot say enough good things about Spotlight Music! Robby went above and beyond in every way to make my wedding truly spectacular. The musicians were incredibly talented, the variety of music they played was amazing, and we received so many compliments on the quality of the band. There are at least 4 couples who booked Spotlight Music after hearing them at our wedding and were equally as thrilled as we were. I highly, highly recommend them!

  It's hard to rave enough about Spotlight Music and how fantastic they were for our daughter's wedding at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. It was five years ago, and we're still hearing from guests about how great the band was. The music was exactly what we wanted and the volume was perfect -- loud enough to keep up the excitement, but not so loud that people couldn't hear each other talking. In fact, Robby checked with us several times to make sure we were happy with the volume. It's not only the music, but the way Robby kept the party going that made the reception so much fun. The timing of dinner, dancing and speeches was seamless, all orchestrated by Robby. As mother of the bride, I was able to enjoy myself, and not try to run the show. Working with Robby from the beginning was a pleasure. He asked lots of questions and really listened, to be sure the band would create the kind of event the bride and groom envisioned. From the ceremony to the reception, Spotlight Music really made the whole thing perfect.
