Southern Sweets has been a favorite of mine and my husband since we first started dating. They have endless possibilities and they’re all amazing. We had the chocolate peanut butter mousse cake for our wedding and the guests still rave about it. We ordered individual cakes rather than doing a traditional tiered wedding cake, but now when our anniversary comes we can just go to the bakery and get a fresh slice!

Beautiful and simple yellow cake with white icing. Perfect for our wedding and allowed the cake topper to pop! The staff did a wonderful job adding small details and it tasted great!

We had a death in the family two months before our wedding, which set us back in our planning quite a bit. When we finally got back to Southern Sweets about our cake, they originally told us that they were completely booked for our date and that the best they could do was get us a stacked party cake.

We went in to the bakery anyway and told our story to Deni, the head baker, and he came up with a beautiful and tasty cake on two weeks' notice. He even invented a new filling based on a Lindor truffle that my husband loves. We were very, very happy with Southern Sweets.

We had 12 Southern Sweets cakes at our wedding! Instead of getting a traditional wedding cake, we had several cakes on a cake buffet. All of the cakes were delicious, and Southern Sweets does a great job of handling both gluten-free and vegan cakes. All of our guests raved about beautiful and delicious our cakes were. The price was also very competitive. My only complaint is that were not open for pick-up or delivery on Sunday, meaning that we had to find a place to store the cakes overnight. We couldn’t have found a better quality, though, so we were glad to use them.

SO Yummy! We decided against getting one big wedding cake, partly because we were trying to save a little money, but more because we love so many of their cakes and pies that it was almost too hard to decide... We bought 4 of their cakes and one pie and then supplemented with other homemade pies and some southern sweets of our own (southern candies like peanut brittle, divinity, spiced pecans and fudge). The dessert bar was a HUGE hit and we got lots of compliments on the idea. The only negative is that we, as the bride and groom, only got to eat the little that we shoved into each other's mouths! :)

Ashley at Southern Sweets Bakery did an awesome job with our wedding cake! It looked amazing, and tasted even better! I sent her a picture of the cake approx. one week before the wedding, and it turned out even better than what I could have imagined! We will definitely use Southern Sweets in the future!

Southern Sweets Bakery was amazing. I came in with very specific needs. The cake needed to be Gluten free and the icing could not contain alcohol. Ashley was great and even let me take a sampling home to my parents after. They are also super flexible. I just emailed pictures of what I wanted icing wise and she was spot on. She also allowed us to change our icing flavor and made us an individual sample to try. (Lemon, totally amazing) We know from past experience that their GF cakes freeze well and I cannot wait to dig into our top layer on our first anniversary.

I may be biased, but I think my wedding cake ended up being one of the best wedding cakes I have ever eaten. Not only did it look great, but it tasted wonderful. There is a charge for cake tasting ($20) which many vendors offer for free. But the upside is that we did get to take the samples of the various cakes home. If you are seeking a great tasting cake and want something fairly traditional as far as size and shape, I highly recommend Southern Sweets. I was a bit disappointed that I ended up going elsewhere to get the groom's cake as they do not offer shaped cakes. Also, I wanted to incorporate a bit of the home we were getting married in and had the idea to pipe frosting in the shape of the windows. However, this idea was met with a perplexed look and she eventually said she could do it, but it would cost an extra $200. Finding this to not really be worth the money, we stuck with the swirls and she said she could do the swirls in my wedding colors. So this was a happy medium. My mom ended up loving the cake so much that she bought a single layer size for Thanksgiving, 6 weeks after we got married!

Southern Sweets did an amazing job on my wedding cake. I choose a Red Velvet Chocolate Pound cake with a vanilla center, and not only was the chocolate to my satisfaction, they made sure the inside was as well. The cake was not only delicious, but so beautiful, I didn't want it to be cut into to. I appreciate Southern Sweets for making my day perfection.

DELICIOUS!
They made my cake and the groom's cake from pictures and drawings that I created while keeping it very professional and wedding-y. They were wonderful to work with and had everything done just the way I asked them to. A little pricey, but worth it. This cake is so delicious that there wasn't much left over at all - we're lucky we still had the top!
