We wanted something unique and SoundShip delivered!
For our wedding, we wanted to do something a little different. We didn't want the usual fare of sing-alongs, dance-alongs, chicken dances and electric slides. Instead, we wanted music that meant a lot to us, music that reminded us of our childhood -- 90s middle school dance jams. From the start, Erik with SoundShip was on board. Every planned piece of music from ceremony to reception was played on cue and Erik filled in the rest. He even worked with our two friends who gave ballroom dancing lessons during out cocktail hour! Erik was punctual, cordial, and asked all the right questions (even things we didn't think about). We would absolutely recommend Erik and SoundShip to all couples out there who want a worry-free DJ experience at their wedding. -

Highly Recommend!
Erik was fantastic! He did both our Ceremony and Reception and it was beautiful. It was the right balance of songs we requested, guests requested and music chosen by the DJ to keep the energy up. He played the perfect mix of Latin and Top Hits for our blended wedding. There wasn’t a point when music genre transitions interrupted the flow or dancing at all. We received lots of compliments from both our Colombian family and our US family. Highly recommend Erik! -

Soundship, Erik Bloom, Super DJ
Erik was on time, presented the music he promised and then some. He was agreeable to making any announcements we requested and guided us with suggestions for the schedule for the day while leaving it up to us for final decision. I don't remember him taking many breaks, so we appreciated his honesty in working almost the entire 6 plus hours. Super nice guy. It was a pleasure to have him DJ for us. -

I am SO happy we had Erik DJ our wedding! He was so chill and easy to work with, quick to respond to my messages and had no issue with creating a playlist that fit our eclectic music tastes. No worries about cheesy DJ MCing, because Erik just played the awesome tunes and only announced the important stuff. No dad jokes, thank god. Our guests danced their little hearts out! We had the best time ever, I would book him again and again for my wedding... thanks Erik! -

What a great experience we had with SoundShip and Erik.
Erik was easy to deal with - no fluff - I enjoyed his professionalism while reserving the date for my daughters wedding reception.
He did a great job, our group literally danced the night a way and our guest continue to talk about the "DJ". I hope we can use Erik again and pass his name onto others!
He ended the night (after everyone had left) by asking to help us load our gifts, decorations, etc. A really nice Guy and a fun DJ. -

Soundship has provided DJ services for my party the last 3 years. Erik's DJ'ing takes the party to another level. The music and lights are great. I recommend anyone wanted a fun DJ to book Erik and Soundship. -

Couldn't have asked for a better DJ for the most important day of my life. He was on time, had all the right equipment, and played the best mix of music to keep the party going. He even provided the microphones and was basically the sound tech for the pastor and the live music we had outside during the ceremony. I highly recommend SS Entertainment and will be using them for any other. If event I have in the future. -

Erik was recommended by a friend. We liked the fact he was not a typical wedding vendor trying to upsell us on everything. He exceeded our expectations and knew what music to play at the right time. He definitely made our wedding music unique and gave the wedding a "trendy" feel. -

SoundShip Entertainment were wonderful to work with. His planning/playlist sheet was very helpful. He was always responsive to calls and emails. He knew exactly what to play to get everyone out on the dance floor. Great mix of 70's/80's music for the older folks, and then bumpin' 90's rap for the younger ones. All my guests couldn't stop talking about how good the music was. -

So much fun!
We we're so thrilled to find Erik! We did most of our wedding planning long distance, so when it came to picking vendors we really had to go with our gut feeling! After a phone call with Erik we knew we found the right DJ to run our music for our wedding day. One thing we looked for was flexibility and he delivered 100%! We made some last minute changes and Erik adapted to them without a problem. If you're looking for a DJ that will keep the dance floor packed, plays to the feel of the crowd, and (in our case) gets the dance floor literally bumpin', Erik is the man for the job! -

Erik provided fabulous entertainment for our outdoor garden wedding. In addition to having a fabulous balance of playing songs we requested and just reading the crowd, he helped with announcements and the flow of events since we didn't have a wedding coordinator. My husband is a big movie quote guy, and Erik incorporated movie lines from some of his fave movies as transitions between songs, which was really fun. He ended up playing 30 minutes past the reception end time because the dance floor was packed. Highly, highly recommend him! -

I'm glad we worked with Erik — we wanted to no fuss music that made everyone happy, including our alt-rock loving friends, classic-rock loving parents and business contacts. Erik did a good job keeping people dancing all night with a blend of music that had everyone dancing at some point. He was just as laid back as we were, and was very responsive about taking our playlist edits and suggestions before the big day. -

We had 45 guest at our wedding on 6/26/21 at Lake Lanier Islands in Buford, GA. Late Dec/2020 we found Erik with Soundship Entertainment on Wedding Wire. The reviews were good. I reached out to Erik, I was comfortable with what he said he offered, and his rate for service. I signed contract and made initial $100.00 deposit as asked. I made final payment well before due date. My coordinator asked on 3 different occasions, how I knew of Erik? She is well known in the area and she's never worked with him. I assured her that Erik would be great and there was nothing to be worried about. BOY WAS I WRONG!! Fast forward a few months, the only time I would hear from Erik was when my coordinator or myself would reach out to him. My coordinator emailed him flow chart and time line of what songs with artist went where and in what order. I sent a list of songs that I wanted played throughout the night. I personally requested 80's - 2000's R n B and Hip Hop and told Erik that he could also add songs from that genre. Erik played NORA JONES and many others that didn't fit in that category. I provided a song list and requested that my wedding party all had small snippets played as they were introduced. Erik took it upon himself to make the decision and not play snippets. His logic was that he never received list. Eric also played one song for the entire wedding party to enter on...It was the snippet for one of my groomsmen intro (FROM THE LIST HE NEVER RECIEVED). His logic was there was no room. Mind you, we had an entire private hallway and ballroom at our disposal. Erik also went on to fault me for not having the list of music, saying that I should have sent him links to 200 plus song. I never knew that I was supposed to pay $1000.00 for a service AND do the work as well!! Several of my wedding party and guests questioned Erik on what was going on. Every single guest knew that the music genre was early R n B and Hip Hop! To make things worse, Erik started announcing the wedding party, announced the bride and groom, then added the rest of the wedding party that he forgot. He also called SHOUT OUTS to Chicago...my husband, myself, and none of our guest were from Chicago! THE KICKER was when my Father had a microphone placed in his face and Eric announced that my Father was to give a toast...No where on the supplied flow chart was this stated. TALK ABOUT AWKWARD!! Several key moments that were planned to be captured in detail were missed, all because Erik decided to go rogue with his own agenda and not the simple wishes of his clients!! My recommendation is for you to download a playlist of the songs you enjoy, connect your phone to a speaker and enjoy your event. This will definitely save you money, embarrassment, time, and heartache instead of hiring Erik with Soundship Entertainment!! -
