Best DJ Ever!!

Where do I start?!?! DeWayne from Sound-A-Bout came out to DJ our wedding and I cannot say enough positive things. My husband had a hand full of songs that we requested and asked DeWayne to take it from there. We wanted a fun, upbeat party and that is exactly what we got. He was great at getting people on the dance floor and letting our party know what was happening next. The sound was amazing, and he was able to light up our dance floor with his cool new lights. If you are planning a special event and need a DJ, you will not be disappointed.

A true party!

DeWayne was personable, thorough, and FUN! Our dance floor was packed the whole night and we received nothing but compliments on our music. DeWayne truly had a hand in making sure that our wedding flowed smoothly and that everyone no matter age or music preferences had a great time. I look back on my wedding night and think of it as one of the best days of my life so far. Thank you DeWayne!

Absolutely Amazing!!

DeWayne was awesome! Extremely responsive and by far one of the best DJs I have hired! He's very easy going and was the best for when it came to my Wedding Day MC, I will definitely be recommending him and the company to all of my friends!

Don't look anywhere else!

Soundabout DJ is the best! We had DeWayne as our DJ for our wedding and choosing him was the best decision we made! Everything about DeWayne and the company was perfect. DeWayne took the time to meet with us when we were considering using them, and we were sold instantly. We met one other time before the wedding to finalize everything, and it all went smooth and to plan on our day. Everyone that came talked about how fun our reception was and it was all due to DeWayne!

Fabulous for a class reunion/anniversary party

For a 50th high school reunion, music was wonderful: the songs from our era, loud enough for dancing and background, but soft enough that we could talk over it. For people in their late 60s and early 70s, that was important. Dwayne is SUCH a nice guy, everything set up on time, he was prepared for glitches (we had room lights go out unexpectedly), and so pleasant to work with. If I were doing an anniversary dinner dance, I'd use him, too. He came recommended, and I can see why!

Accommodating, Fun, and Professional

We loved our experience with SoundAbout DJ. Adam was fun to talk to, he made a lot of great suggestions, and he did everything we asked and more! We had a young group of guests for our wedding, and he helped keep us all dancing the whole night. We couldn't have been happier with our choice.

Dewayne and his team at Soundabout DJ were INCREDIBLE! From the moment we met them at the Seattle wedding show, we knew they were professional and organized. Our meeting before the wedding really helped ease our minds as to the flow of the big day. We were so fortunate to have Dewayne not only be our DJ but our MC as well. We also didn't know which songs to choose for the reception (we probably only had 10 from his list) but that was no problem at all. He put together the perfect set list that got everyone up and dancing! He also brought lighting that made the dancing even better! If you're looking for an amazing DJ/MC, you have to meet with these guys! A HUGE thank you to Dewayne and the Soundabout DJ team!

ADAM WAS AMAZING! We talked to Soundabout DJ a few time at wedding shows and decided to book them after realizing we didn't have anyone booked and really liked them. Could not have been happier with this choice.

Our wedding was unique - we are Seattle natives but love island reggae music. Adam was able to take our requested list of unique songs and mix them in with things everyone would know. We got our "not to beachy/Seattle native/island" vibe.

Adam also did an amazing job at reading our crowd. He played epic dancing songs, gave the crowds a break, and pulled everyone back through out the night.

He was also very flexible. It had rained all morning and when got there had a canopy set up at the outdoor ceremony space, but when I made the call to move it indoor he got it all torn down an hour before, but as I changed my mind (30 minutes prior to start) to have the ceremony outside again (rain slowed), Adam got everything transitioned again!

AMAZING! He really played a key part in making our ceremony and reception AMAZING! I have no hesitation when I say, SoundaboutDJ nailed it - I recommend Adam and the SoundaboutDJ's team for you wedding or special event.

DJ DeWayne did amazing! He was on point with everything we asked for. The transitions in the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were perfect. Everyone says the wedding was perfect and organized and my husband and I truly believe our DJ had a major role in that. The shoe game was also very entertaining! I have no complaints at all. Thank you so much for being apart of our wedding on May 19th at the Puyallup Fairgrounds. You were very responsive when it came to answering our questions and responding to emails. Soundabout DJ was awesome to work with! He had every song you could think of in his music library. Always had good recomendations of songs for certain dances, etc. and his playlist matched what we wanted for our wedding perfectly! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a DJ!

Even getting stuck in terrible Labor Day weekend traffic, DeWayne still had plenty of time to set up for the wedding. He was professional and flexible, and was able to roll with the punches. The music was great, he graciously took requests from our crazy guests and kept the party going as our MC as well. We were on the dance floor for 3 hours straight! Everything we had talked about during our planning session went off without a hitch.

It was a pleasure having Adam as our DJ! We spent countless days trying to find one, and immediately hit off with one single conversation. He was extremely accommodating to mine and my husbands needs. He was quick, efficient, and dealt with all of our hassles getting on base. My wife and I loved working with Soundabout DJ. He was easy to work with, very flexible in music genre's and choices, and provided great recommendations about music. Adam was a huge help from the start! We had a great pre wedding meeting to talk about music, plans and our vision. It rained on our wedding day and Adam and I worked through alternate options still smiling and going with the flow. He was played a huge part in the success of our wedding and helped set the mood ensuring my new husband, myself and all of our guests had the best time! DeWayne was AWESOME at our wedding. He was prompt and professional, and played the best music that fit in perfectly with each part of the day. He played not only the music that we asked for, but also the other songs he chose fit in perfectly and kept everyone dancing and having fun. From the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to the dinner, to the dance floor, the music was perfect. The lighting effects and sound system were amazing as well. Our experience with DeWayne at Soundabout DJ was excellent. He exceeded all our expectations providing back ground music as our guests arrived and during the meal. Then he knew just when to ramp things up, seamlessly taking the party from cocktail hour into a full evening of nonstop dancing. The music choices seemed endless, we had a lot of fun putting together our song list and although wildly random, DeWayne put it all together for us and made it flow perfectly. He was professional, personable and a lot of fun to work with. I HIGHLY recommend Soundabout DJ !! We will certainly be calling him for all our future entertaining! My husband and I got married at the end of January and DeWayne helped make the night absolutely unforgettable! The dancefloor was packed the whole night and everyone kept saying it was the best wedding they've been to (I think music has a lot to do with this). We couldn't be happier with how everything turned out! He set up a satellite station in the ceremony room, one in the cocktail room, and his main station in the dance/bar area of our venue. Everything sounded amazing!

If you want someone that works with you and gives you all they got then book SoundaboutDJ. Music was important to us to have, but we just wanted Country Music and didn't have a ton of specifics. DeWayne did a fantastic job choosing songs to play for each part of the wedding and everything was perfect!

We loved Adam from SoundAbout. He was absolutely amazing and we felt so comfortable with him. He had our small wedding dancing all night. We recently hired DeWayne and Soundabout DJ to handle our wedding. DeWayne was responsive, incredibly professional, and made picking the music for our ceremony and reception very easy with the online playlist tool. Our event was in the rotunda of a century-old train station, which presented a serious acoustical challenge; but DeWayne and company nailed the acoustics. We highly recommend DeWayne and Soundabout to others.

DeWayne is absolutely the BEST!!! He helped make our wedding an absolutely magical day!!! His organization, professionalism, knowledge and creativity is amazing. He was able to adapt throughout the evening to whatever we wanted or needed and was engaged with all those in our party (including our 2 year old grandson!!). He was there when we needed him and yet stayed in the background and was not at all intrusive in the festivities. All our guests thoroughly enjoyed the music. We would highly recommend hiring DeWayne for any event!

DeWayne was awesome! His many years of experience show in the quality of his work - the music selections, lighting, discreet placement of the equipment and sound levels were perfect for our guests. We've been to weddings where the music is just too loud everywhere - but we were so pleased that our guests were able to converse easily in other areas of the venue. The evidence is that guests of all ages stayed until late into the evening. Having the dance floor crowded all night as well as people seated in other areas to chat and rest up made the reception feel like a big ol' house party! We also appreciated his timing and direction for the events of the entire night. There were no worries as to what we had to do and when we needed to do them. I had a blast! Thanks so much, DeWayne!

Dewayne was wonderful to work with for our wedding in October 2015. It was held at Union Station in Tacoma which is an old train station with horrible acoustics--he knows the space well and was able to make the music sound flawless (no echo!) and kept our entire timeline going on time. Dewayne is genuine and kind, we met with him twice and he handled everything without much hesitation. He's a great person and wonderful at what he does, I would recommend Dewayne and Soundabout DJ to anyone!

My event wasn't a wedding, fyi. I highly recommend SoundAboutDJ and my DJ, DeWayne. He met with me ahead of time to find out more about me and what feel I wanted to have at my event. His online playlist was seriously helpful. He took requests during the event. Fantastic.

I had an amazing experience working with DeWayne. Due to recent wildfires, my wedding had to be relocated at the last minute and my original DJ was unable to make it. With only two days of notice, DeWayne was able to pull off an amazing feat! He was extremely accommodating given the situation and was able to make everything that we wanted happen with little time to prepare. Our reception turned out amazing and all of our friends had a great time. He read the room and picked songs that got everyone dancing, and he was very good about incorporating song requests. DeWayne included a bunch of additional dance floor lighting which enhanced the experience at the reception. I highly recommend him!

DeWayne was very professional during all meetings; he was only late once and called us prior to his tardiness to let us know.
I was super impressed with the option on the website to set our own custom song list! This meant that we were in complete control of what was playing at all times during our reception!
We had a slideshow running while we took pictures and when we arrived, he promptly took down the projector and was ready with the microphone for speeches.
Throughout the evening he found us a couple times simply to check-in and see how we felt things were going.
Overall we were very impressed with his demeanor, attitude, and performance. He truly understands that the music can make or break a reception!

DeWayne was such an amazing person to have work your wedding. I didn't have to worry about flow, events or music. He took care of everything! He does not send someone else in his place, he is your DJ, I have heard horrior stories about this (however DeWayne was the opposite of this). I would recommend him to any of my friends and family. DeWayne's personality is fun and vivacious this is the exact person you would want to have at your wedding.

Adam was the DJ for our daughter's wedding reception and did a fabulous job. He was very thorough and professional from the outset of the process. He met with us well in advance to understand the type of music our daughter wanted and to be sure he understood her specific music requests and also the itinerary for the evening. On the day of the event Adam was extremely well prepared. His appearance and conduct were both professional. The reception was attended by 250 people, all ages. He was very cordial to all of the guests and did an excellent job of accommodating their requests. We received many compliments about the great job he did and the dance floor was full from the first song to the last dance of the night!

Adam was the DJ for our wedding a couple of months ago and we had a flawless experience with him! Before our event he was flexible and attentive in meeting up with us to go over details, as well as develop a personalized plan that would make our reception exactly what we wanted. Most importantly, he took our requests and wants and made them a reality at our wedding. Our dance floor was packed full the entire night with all of our family and friends: young, old, and everything in-between! Dancing was one of the most important things to us at our reception, and Adam brought it to life. In addition to the music, he performed wonderfully as an MC for the evening. He kept the night running smoothly with all of our events (dinner, dances, cake-cutting, bouquet toss, garter toss, toasts, etc.). He made it so that we didn't have to worry about a thing--besides enjoying ourselves--the entire night. I couldn't recommend his services with any higher confidence, no matter the event you are looking for!

Dwayne was such a joy to work with! We met twice before our wedding and talked a few times on the phone. He was knowledgeable about every aspect of the wedding, even details that didn't involve a DJ. Dwayne was able to draw out our venue from memory and tell us exactly how everything would work and transition from ceremony to reception. I remember calling my dad after our last meeting with Dwayne and saying "We are going to have so much fun at the wedding our DJ is amazing!" Sound a bout did not fail us on our wedding day. They were there early and set up efficiently. He was able to direct the reception activities and get everything organized. This was the first wedding in 30 years for my family, we had no idea what we were doing but Dwayne kept us on track and made the whole night memorable and seamless. I would highly recommend him for a wedding!

DeWayne Campbell from Soundabout DJ was absolutely incredible on our wedding night. He is very reliable and knows what he is doing. All of my guests had so much fun and I have had many people ask where I found my DJ. He was very professional throughout the whole process. Soundabout has a very cool website where you can make your list ahead of time and submit it online. Having a great DJ is so important for a wedding; it makes or breaks it. Many people don't think having a great DJ is important. When you go to weddings where having a good DJ isn't a priority you'll notice, as I have, that not only does the night seem unorganized but also guests do not tend to have as much fun. DeWayne knows exactly what to play, and when to play it in order to keep the flow of the wedding going and keep the entertainment alive and exciting. There was never a dull moment all night and I truly believe the night went so smoothly because of DeWayne Campbell at Soundabout DJ. I cannot say enough good things about him! Hire him for your wedding!

DeWayne at Sound-A-Bout was the perfect fit for out wedding. We had little idea about what went into making a great ceremony and reception, but Dewayne had ideas and enthusiam to make the planning phase competely comfortable. The day of our wedding he came early and set up quite speedily. His team was out of the way, but completely involved in the process. His communication and extra's he put in allowed for us to have the most beautiful ceremony at Lake Wilderness in Maple Valley. His equipment was high end and no one missed a word. By the time the reception started he was already creating an atmosphere that allowed for us to have a great evening of amazing toasts and dancing all night. Definetly not a detail looked over with DeWayne and Sound-A-Bout.

Sound a bout provided us with a fun filled afternoon of music and entertainment. It was a community party to celebrate the end of summer with our summer lunch program. They were professional, prompt, and fun. He had the kids and community members playing, dancing and interacting for 3 hours.

DeWayne exceeded our expectations for our wedding in Tacoma. He was incredibly helpful through the planning process and had a lot of experience to give us helpful ideas and insight. He really helped the night of the event by keeping the timeline we had created on schedule and ensuring that we accomplished everything we had told him we wanted to happen the night of our wedding. Our experience with SoundAbout DJ was amazing! They were so helpful in pre-wedding planning stages with recommendations for how the day would be laid out and answers to all the questions we started out with. We had some off the wall song requests for our special dances and DeWayne wasn't just accommodating, he was genuinely excited to hear the ideas we had and to find ways to make everything work. Aside from a terrific staff, the actual song list planning tool was awesome. The user interface made it so fun for my bride and I to sit side by side building our playlist and previewing things along the way. On the actual day of the wedding the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception entertainment went off without a hitch, and there wasn't a single moment the dance floor was empty. Family members keep telling us how friendly and fun the DJ was and how much they loved the evening. We loved this experience and would highly recommend it to any couples looking for a great foundation for their wedding entertainment experience.

After comparing multiple DJs, we decided to choose Sound-A-Bout. They have really competiitive pricing, and we were very glad we chose them! The venue for our wedding is probably a nightmare for any sound technician or DJ. However, DeWayne was very familiar with the area and made everything work! Things sounded great, and he was very easy to work with. He had almost all the songs we needed, and if he didn't, he was able to get them for us. If we ever needed a DJ anymore, we would definitely come back!

I met with DeWayne a couple times to go over music. The only problem I had was website with my mac. I had to clear cookies and clear history. I also had to send my music selection a couple times for it to go through. Once I told DeWayne the problem we had open dialogue to make sure he had my everything I needed. He paid a great arrangement of music. And I also included a brother/sister dance.

DeWayne was amazing! I would hire him again in a heartbeat for any future DJ services. Union Station is a very difficult venue for sound due to the rotunda echoing and decibel limitations. DeWayne has been at Union Station for many years and knew the ins and outs how to make everything sound great. He was a great master of ceremonies and many of my guests complimented his excellent music selections.

Great DJ! Loved that we could have a "must play" and "don't play" list. Everyone was dancing and had a great time. Very nice and great sound quality. We have been to over a dozen weddings in the last couple years and a DJ really sets the tone. We were very happy with all the songs he played. The only reason I docked him a star was that he brought his school-aged son to the wedding reception with him and without telling us he was going to ahead of time. The kid was really polite so it was fine, but it was a puzzling addition to our reception.

DeWayne did a great job for us! We got married in an old train station in Tacoma and the acoustics are less than stellar. We barely noticed at all! We had Sound-A-Bout do our ceremony, Motown cocktail hour, and our reception. One of the things I really liked about DeWayne is that he's not just a DJ, more of a host for the evening to keep things on track. He even went table to table and invited our guests to go to the buffet for dinner, which was a really nice personal touch. We definitely had people dancing until the end of the night!

DeWayne and SoundAbout DJ was absolutely the right decision to make for our wedding. They did an amazing job accommodating our requests and were prepared to work around the challenges our venue posed. Though I wish they were a little more communicative, they were so well prepared for everything it made for a completely stress free aspect to such a busy day. Our goal was to make sure everyone had a good time and Sound About did not disappoint. Months later, our guests are still mentioning how great the music was and the fun they had at our wedding. Adam was great at our wedding in August! He met with my wife and I a few weeks before the event to go through the kind of music we liked and what we had in mind for our ceremony and reception. We like all different kinds of music and Adam blended it all perfectly. The dance floor was busy all night and we have had countless friends come up to us after the wedding saying how much fun our wedding was and that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. I attribute a large part of that to Adam as our DJ keeping the party moving and never letting it slow down once it got started.

We will definitely be recommending Adam in the future.

DeWayne and Adam were great. I met them at the wedding expo in Seattle. Adam was our actual DJ for the wedding. He was extremely flexible scheduling times and meeting up. That was great. The only issue we had was when it came to the online form they have on their website. We filled it out very thoroughly but it seemed like Adam had not even seen it. This caused our garter toss and bouquet toss songs to be incorrect. There was also a song that was played that was on our "Do Not Play" list. Other than those two issues. They were extremely professional and they kept everyone dancing the whole night. Adam told us that their main goal is to keep the dance floor full and he did just that. Almost all of the guests danced the night away.

Overall, we were very happy with DeWayne and the job he did at our wedding. There were a few songs we would have liked to hear that we didn't, but that's partially our fault for requesting so many songs to be played! If anything, it would have been nice to be able to prioritize in order the list of songs you submit for your event instead of just group them into "must-play", "play if time" and "don't play" categories. Nevertheless, he did a great job of keeping the party going and we danced all night long. He also did a great job of announcing each of the events throughout the night.

The DJ's at Sound A Bout responded quickly when I called to inquire about their services. They drove to the city I lived in to meet with us so we didn't have to go out of our way for the initial consult and final meeting. When I had changes I could text our DJ and he would respond quickly giving me peace of mind that I was being heard and the music would go perfect the day of the wedding. Adam showed up on time, got everything set up, I did not have to worry about if he was going to be ready at all during the wedding. Then we kept the music going all night long and we had a wonderful time dancing. I had the option to pick a playlist or let him read the crowd and play what they responded to which for me, I am a Graduate student and work full time and was planning a wedding 5 months, I went with him picking the music and it took that stress off my plate and I didn't have to worry about those details. Their website has all the great songs and they have many helpful lists to pick from including a list of popular first dances, father-daughter and mother-son dances. I would recommend them to another bride, or hire them for a party in the future.

Our first meeting with DeWayne went very well. He was punctual, professional and had printed information all neatly organized for us to take. The price was good compared to a few other djs we had met with. We had many changes over the year or so in between when we booked him and our wedding date. He was very accommodating to those changes and worked with us on what we wanted for our music. However, the quality of performance was a little low...there was a lot of skipping of music for some reason, which was odd because we heard him perform at another event where that didn't happen. He was also very hard to get a hold of the last month or so before the event. Never returned phone calls or emails to confirm information. We always had to do the calling.

Although I found the owner very personable, he wasn't available to actually DJ our wedding. Leeanna seemed very prepared when I met with her before the wedding. She arrived on time, but then there seemed to be some confusion about the timeline and what would happen when. When my husband and I returned from pictures, she was supposed to announce have everyone seated, announce us, and open the buffet. Apparently her microphone wasn't working, so a friend made the "announcement" and walked from table to table to open the buffet. When the time came for toasts, the wireless microphone wasn't working, so the best man and maid of honor had to stand in the middle of the dance floor while they gave their speeches. It was rather awkward. At one point, doors were opened and most of hte guests were outside looking at fireworks adn she played all of my favorite songs. I wasn't even in the room. No one really danced to her music, but she did have Karaoke available, and that really livened up the party.

Everything ended up fine, but I would have preferred a more professional looking set up for Karaoke, and maybe a little more attantion paid to the guests and how they are reacting to the music.

I booked DJ Adam for my wedding last month. First of all, he played the wrong song when I walked down the aisle. I was devastated and barely held it together. I had also previously sent him a playlist of 5 hours worth of music, plenty to last the whole reception. He played maybe 30 minutes of my playlist and chose his own songs for the rest, most of which were not the genres or artists I picked. Thoroughly disappointed, and now I'm out $1500.
