Amazing dj frankie

DJ Frankie from SIM Events was AMAZING. He incorporated the songs and the vibe we had shared with him during our wedding. He was kind and accommodating to guests while ensuring not to play songs we asked explicitly not to be played. Our guests said it was one of the best dance parties they have experienced at a wedding. DJ Frankie also went above and beyond helping us execute on a high school yearbook-inspired superlative grand entrance. He absolutely crushed the detailed script we shared with him. DJ Frankie also helped us manage the timeline of the day and connected with us throughout. We are so happy with our choice in SIM events and especially grateful that DJ Frankie was assigned to our wedding. It was the very best day!

Sound In Motion with DJ Adam Millman 10/10

The booking process for sound in motion was very seamless. We had a couple calls to understand what we were looking for and then they paired us with a DJ, Adam, and we left it for a long time! About a couple months before, they sent us the software that they used to collect all of our requests and then set up a call to walk us through the process. Then, a month before, Adam, our DJ, reached out to us and gave us some more guidance. The DJ options were very wide ranging, from hands off, just select a vibe, to a curated playlist where you pick every song. So it was easy to be as involved or as uninvolved as you wanted. Adam was very chill and friendly and instantly put us at ease. He understood exactly what our goals were for each part of the day and matched the vibes impeccably. His recommendations put us more at ease as we approached our wedding day. He even added in some of his own mashups when he learned more of our style. The ceremony and preceremony music were perfectly cued. The reception was amazing. We had a crazy dance party and everyone (including my older relatives) was up on the dance floor. We didn't get to every song that I wanted, but that's just the nature of the time limit on the reception. I would recommend Adam to anyone looking to get married. He especially worked great with Pema Osel Ling, which was my venue.

Best DJ- Andrew Rivas

I could not say enough amazing things about our Sound in Motion DJ, Andrew. Our wedding was incredible, and so much of that is owed to him! EVERYONE loved the music, from our grandparents to our teenage cousins. I have never been to a party, let alone a wedding, where people danced the entire time. Andrew, however, effortlessly kept us all on the dance floor up until the very end.

I lost track of the number of people who told us that it was the best wedding music they had heard, and so much of that is because of Andrew. Truly, this man can transition between songs you would never think possible, and make it sound amazing (I think it's the math genius brain of his).

On top of being an incredible DJ, Andrew is excellent to work with. As a same-sex couple with many nonbinary people in our party, we wanted to ensure that our DJ would be conscientious. Andrew was that and more. He is kind, respectful, professional, and a magician with music. If you are looking for a DJ, go with Andrew, you won’t regret it.

DJ Shazam is the man!

DJ Shazam of Sound in Motion was INCREDIBLE. He was very communicative leading up to our wedding, and understood our music vibes right off the bat. He came in with questions not just about our music tastes, but us as people. He really wanted to get to know us and understand our story so that he could create a new chapter on the dance floor. After the wedding, every guest mentioned how great the music was. Even 80 year old grandma didn't leave the dance floor until the reception ended! 20/10, would absolute book DJ Shazam for our wedding if we were to do it all over again.

Awesome wedding DJ!!

We hired Sound in Motion for our wedding and are so glad we did! We first hired them for a 5/2020 wedding which was cancelled due to COVID. They were SO patient with us, so flexible, and so accommodating through multiple postponements and changes of venue and even city throughout the course of the pandemic. We finally got married at the Firehouse in Sacramento and the DJ Matthew did an awesome job!! They have a very organized planning process so they make sure they know what music to play (and just as importantly, to not play). Matthew did a fantastic job as our DJ. Everyone was out on the dance floor, including my parents and their friends (totally unexpected!). I didn't plan on dancing much at all (I hate dancing) but Matthew even had me out on the dance floor having a blast. 11/10 recommend Sound in Motion if you want an awesome, FUN event!

Andrew Rivas was the best

We hired SIMs team and Andrew as our DJ and it was such a hit. He was the best wedding DJ that I've ever seen. He remembered all my requests and his mixes were just AMAZING. My friends commented that it was better than going to a club.

As cheesy as it sounds...

BEST DAY EVER. My husband and I had the opportunity to work with Logan as the DJ/EMCEE for our wedding. He was amazing! So easy and relaxed to communicate with, and he kept the evening going without being the "star of the show". He had a great assortment of music, everything from classical and jazz (reception and cocktail hour) to country and 90/00's hip hop. My little cousins were so enamored with his DJ set up, he even let them take it for a spin (they loved it)!

Thorough and relaxed

I had the pleasure of working with Logan from "Sound in Motion ". He is extremely friendly and easy going. I had complicated requests with my music and he made sure to get them correct. In addition, he doubled checked the pronunciation of my bridal party and the time frame I wrote for the wedding. Olympic Club Reception - August 25, 2018

We used Sound in Motion for both our DJ (Raffi) and videographer (Jordan). They provided us with a very reasonable package deal with a price that couldn't be beat for both services combined. Raffi did an amazing job as Emcee throughout the night and really kept the energy going during the dancing hours. He frequently checked with me to make sure the songs we requested were being played and kept everything running smoothly. Raffi also made sure that the speeches were performed in a timely manner during the dinner service. Our videographer, Jordan, did an amazing job. He was so inconspicuous during our ceremony and reception that I was amazed when I saw our finished product. He did an excellent job editing our highlight video and was able to finish all the videos before we even returned from our honeymoon! I was initially very skeptical hiring a videographer since I was not sure it was a service we wanted/needed. I am SO thankful that I did! We watch our wedding video often and it provides us with so many fond memories of our special day. Sound in Motion is top-notch company. Their level of professionalism, energy, attention to detail and pride in their work really comes through in all the services they provide. I could not give them a stronger recommendation for event planning/wedding services.

Wonderful photo booth experience!!

We hired Sound In Motion to provide a photo booth for our wedding and it was seriously one of the best decisions we made! From the moment we booked them, they were amazing. Communication was prompt, super friendly, and they were very accommodating. The photo booth was packed all night and our guests clearly had a blast. Our attendant, Adrienne, was incredibly friendly. She even handed us a custom scrapbook at the end of the night with notes and photos from the guests. Such a wonderful and personal touch!

We will definitely be recommending them to others. Thanks for making our wedding so fun and memorable! :)

HIRE THEM!!!!!! But if that alone doesn't convince you, feel free to keep reading.

We got married 6/8/19 at the Olympic Club in San Francisco and had SIM provide our MC/DJ and lighting services. They also have photography, videography, and photobooth services if you're looking for a one-stop shop! SIM was one of our venue's preferred vendors, so they were the only entertainment vendor I contacted and once we got in touch, I knew I didn't have to look any further! We emailed with Shawn Cavlan in the beginning and set up a telephone meeting with her. She was always upbeat and extremely helpful, and made good recommendations for DJs to work with.

Raffi Nalvarian was our MC/DJ throughout the ceremony and reception and everything went off without a hitch! Picking Raffi was a no-brainer, he came highly regarded by our venue coordinator and has years of expertise, and it clearly showed in the execution. Absolutely a pleasure to work with (really didn't need to do much on my part - which honestly is the BEST thing since there's so many other things with wedding planning to have to deal with), and his music selections kept our guests dancing all night long! Sound quality of the ceremony and reception speeches were fantastic as well. The planning forms were easy to fill out, and even has plenty of suggestions of popular tunes for first dance, father/daughter dance, bouquet toss, you name it!

Uplighting was great, and SIM seamlessly brought in all the lighting kits and set them around the venue and made the whole place look like it was lit up by romantic warm candlelight. The dynamic lighting was great for dancing after reception!

Thank you Shawn and Raffi for making our wedding day the best one ever! We might have to throw another party soon so that we can work with you again soon!!! :)

Great experience with Andrew Rivas of SIM

We worked with Andrew Rivas (from Sound in Motion) for our wedding on 5/18/19 in Ben Lomond, CA. Andrew did an AWESOME job. Extremely professional, spot-on playlist, friendly, easy to work with. We had rainy weather for our wedding and Andrew did not let it slow him down a bit. He set up in the rain, all the sound equipment worked 100% with no blips, and always had a smile on his face. He matched his style to exactly what we were looking for… more of an “in-the-background” emcee for the evening that made clear announcements but didn’t add more than was needed. But he also lit up the dancefloor and we couldn’t have been happier with the vibe he helped to create. We did a few calls with Andrew ahead of time to make sure we were aligned around timetable, music, etc and couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with.

DJ, photobooth and uplighting

We hired Sound in Motion to DJ our wedding. We also used them for uplighting and a photobooth. Logan did a wonderful job providing music for our ceremony and reception. The Sound in Motion team arrived promptly and had everything set up early for our wedding. Our guests loved the photobooth and Logan kept people dancing all night. I can't say enough good things about Sound in Motion (SIM). We worked closely with Shawn at SIM in the beginning phase of our planning process - we were thrilled with the level of attentiveness and excellent customer service we received. We ended up working with Logan as our DJ and feel incredibly lucky! Sound In Motion is an absolute must for anyone looking to have a killer wedding entertainment company. We had our wedding on June 2nd in Saratoga, with Raffi as our Master of Ceremonies and he was incredible! Not only did he have the most perfect playlist and kept people on the dance floor, he was adaptable, witty, great on the mic, and generally kept a pulse on the flow and vibe of the entire day and made sure everything went off without a hitch! I'd also highly recommend the up-lighting package to really make it a memorable dance floor. For the months and weeks leading up to my big day, as I was a bit of a crazy bride, it was such a relief working with Raffi and his team - incredibly organized and responsive - these are true professionals with a passion for what they do. I think the DJ/MC can really make or break an event, and Raffi and his team completely exceeded my expectations and I am still getting compliments today! Thank you SIM and Raffi!

Brian from Sound In Motion was the DJ at our wedding last month in Santa Cruz, and he was, in a word, incredible! We had a very specific vibe in mind for our wedding music, California classic rock meets indie for happy hour and dinner and a mix of 1950s/60s oldies and contemporary hits for dancing. Brian nailed it! Everyone loved the music, the dance floor was always full and at the end of the night when the last song was over our guests started chanting "One more song! One more song!" Thanks to Brian, our reception was truly a party. I was also very impressed at how Brian handled last minute changes and requests from me and my husband. Our timeline shifted throughout the evening and he was able to quickly queue up the right songs at the right time. We also had to change our bridal party entrance order at the last minute, and he quickly wrote down the new order and perfectly introduced each couple as they entered the reception. If you want an incredible event, make sure to request Brian.

For my wedding in August, 2018, I had a an outstanding experience with Sound in Motion, and in particular with my DJ/MC, Andy. I could tell from our initial consult over the phone that he knew what he was doing and was extremely experienced. He figured out exactly what we wanted and made it work. In particular, he was able to provide a battery-powered speakers and mic so we could have music and amplified sound for our outdoor ceremony. We also had a bit of an emergency when the power went out at our venue in the middle of our wedding, but Andy had it covered and was still able to keep things running until the power came back on. He played a great mix of songs, including some more classic wedding songs for the older crowd and newer hits for the younger ones, and kept the dance floor full all night. Just as importantly, he kept everyone aware of what was going on all night, and was a perfect MC throughout the reception, making every transition feel totally natural. Perfect 10/10!

Sound in Motion was awesome and worked with me. They were proactive and honest with me when my assigned DJ retired and assigned us a new DJ right away. Logan, our DJ, was a great guy, a lot of fun, and created the exact audio experience we envisioned for our wedding during each part of the night (ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, etc). I am a big audio guy so I had high expectations for our DJ.

My wife & I want to express how happy we were with Sound In Motion
From the start, working with Shawn understanding the importance, to the selection of the team.from the planning, preparation,also the attention to detail

the DJ service which was fantastic at the event. Logan the DJ was on top of everything, from being at the event early, setting up, making sure the music was well planned. Back ground music, dance music as well as working with the guests.
We also used SIM for the photography
Scott was fantastic, with really defining our event through the photography & his creative eye.
from the time the event started until the sunset in the back ground & the ocean at our feet. I can't say enough about his professionalism.
We also used the videographer Jordan, so organized & attention to detail, getting all the important moments of the day.
All three worked so well as a team
They became more to us than just photographer, Video, Dj
They became part of the family
We received so many compliments on all three that unfortunately our review does not do them justice!!

We just got married on 3-17-18 and had a very small wedding. We never intended on having a DJ due to our small guest lists but then when we realized how expensive audio equipment is to rent and how much work goes into the announcements, timing of the music and everything we decided to look into hiring a DJ and we are so glad we did!
Andy was our DJ and he was awesome! He really listened to what we did and did not want played and kept the night flowing smoothly. Our guests had a great time dancing the night away and the lights they set up for our reception were fun. If you’re looking for DJ or debating if you need one, don’t look any further, call Sound In Motion!

I am so glad that I choose Raffi and the Sound in Motion Crew for our wedding DJ and Videographer services on August 5th 2017!! From our first meeting, I could tell that Raffi was very passionate about his job- he was so easy to work and had so much useful advise, from years of experience, on how to make our wedding run smoothly. On the wedding day, Raffi was so flexible, catering to ALL on my last minute changes, not to mention hilarious! Our wedding quests absolutely loved him and he had everyone dancing until the very last song!

Raffi also highly recommended a wedding videographer for our wedding, and I will NEVER regret booking a videographer through Sound in Motion! The wedding day went by so quickly and I am so glad I will get to look back on my wedding day forever. Jordan Graham was our videographer- he showed up to the wedding venue and starting filming without any guidance or direction and fit seamlessly in the background while capturing our day perfectly!

DJ Raffi did my wedding two weeks ago and it was absolute perfection. We had a very rowdy crowd of 220 people and Raffi facilitated the large group expertly. He had the dance floor PACKED the entire night and kept the energy and fun going from start to finish while, at the same time, he kept everything on time and running smoothly and efficiently. He is never rattled by anything and always keeps his calm, cool, and jovial demeanor while continuing to stay completely professional. Throughout the entire process Raffi was amazing and had us laughing and feeling comfortable. Sound In Motion has a great website that you pay through as well as forms to fill out with every detail, song requests, etc. which made the process really easy for us. I cannot recommend Sound In Motion and DJ Raffi more highly!!

The entire SIM staff is incredible. Raffi was super fast to respond to every email I sent. Brian (our DJ) was wonderful, super fun, very easy going, kept our wedding moving smoothly, and pumped great jams all night long. Teisha (our photo booth attendant) was so helpful, very sweet, helped my guests pick props/poses, and kept everyone coming back for more. Honestly, I would use them all again in a heartbeat. Thank you Raffi, Brian, and Teisha for making my wedding perfect!

My husband and I used Sound in Motion as our DJ for our September 2017 wedding and had a great experience. Andrew was our DJ and he did a fantastic job! He played all the songs we requested and was very professional. Everyone had a great time dancing which was very important to us. He also did a great job doing the music for the ceremony and as the mc.

This review for Adrian at Sound in Motion is nearly a year overdue, but even though I am late I wanted to make sure Adrian got the recognition he deserves! Adrian was the DJ for my wedding at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and I have nothing but positive things to say about him. It was an ease and genuine pleasure working with Adrian from start to finish. The day of the event, it was unclear whether we would be able to have the wedding outside due to inclement weather, but when we got the green light Adrian and his team set up lightning fast. He is a great MC and knew what songs to play to keep the multi-generational crowd on the dancefloor. The cherry on top is that off the cuff he played the anthem for my favorite soccer team (Liverpool in England) when someone offhandedly mentioned it. He knew the song because he DJ’ed an exhibition game that Liverpool played at Levi’s Stadium a couple years ago! I will always remember that. Thanks, Adrian!

I booked with Sound in Motion for my wedding. Raffi provided services as DJ/MC. We had a couple of telephone consultations prior to our wedding. Raffi was fun to work with, very lighthearted and he took our preferences into consideration. Raffi coordinated with our parents for their speeches and also was able to coordinate the introductions/music selections for our cultural dancers. Most importantly, the dance floor was PACKED the whole night! Raffi played a wide range of music that catered to the crowd. I still have friends and family telling me what a great time they had that night. There was so much positive energy in the room that night, great music, and everything ran smoothly.

I absolutely loved working with DJ Adam! He was very responsive and very flexible, we were able to have meetings via Skype in the evening once I was home from work. All our guests raved about the music, there was never a dull moment during the reception.

We hired SIM to provide DJ, uplighting, and photo booth services at our wedding (venue = Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa) and they were outstanding! Nick was our DJ and made sure the flow of our evening went smoothly. Whenever he came to us to let us know what was coming up next (i.e. speeches, cake cutting, etc.) he never rushed us and gave us time to finish eating, chatting, and enjoying ourselves. The mood in the room throughout dinner service, speeches, and dancing were always spot-on visually (uplighting really helped with ambiance!) and musically, and he crafted his playlist carefully to match our requests. I don't think the dance floor was ever empty once the dance music started, and I received many, many compliments from my guests about how great the music was - all of these guests have very different music tastes too, so we were very pleased!

The photo booth services were also excellent! They designed a special printing strip with a Venetian mask to match our wedding theme and my guests went to town in the photo booth! They handed us the album at the end of the night and it was fun to be able to look through some pictures and messages from our guests that very night!

Over all, working with everyone at SIM was always a great experience - Shawn was always very helpful on the phone and made sure we understood pricing, services, and in general seemed to enjoy being part of the wedding planning process. Their client portal is super easy to use, and they collaborated expertly with my wedding venue and their staff to make sure my husband and I could enjoy our special night!

I hired Sound in Motion to DJ my wedding a few weeks ago. I specifically requested someone who was familiar with 90's R&B, hip-hop, and rap, and SIM definitely delivered. Adam emailed me two months prior to our wedding date to introduce himself as our DJ. Right off the bat he was super professional, as he listened to what my husband and I wanted and made sure to cater the song list to our favorite jams. He was even open and honest, telling us that he would be out of town until a couple of days before our wedding but that he would be accessible via email. As a bride, I was a bit nervous, but Adam responded to every one of my annoying emails within a few hours. I was super impressed! If you want a DJ who listens, is patient, and has a GREAT attitude, Adam is your man! Thanks for making our day extra special, Adam!

We had Murphy Park as our DJ, and he was fabulous. He was recommended to us by a family friend who also used him for their wedding. We had an international wedding, my family is Peruvian and my husband is Persian - Murphy worked with us to get the right mix of Persian and Spanish music and it was seriously the most epic dance party ever. He took extra time to download Persian music, (not so common), and even coordinated with my husband to make sure he selected the right version of the song. He also took special care to make sure he had the correct pronunciations for all of our non-English names. What's more, he was a true professional and made sure that the evening flowed well and had a great sense of humor. I am so so happy that we selected SIM and Murphy in particular to be our DJ. You really cannot go wrong with these guys and you would be incredibly lucky to have them at your event.

Shawn was super helpful in negotiating our package and advising us on how to make the most of our budget. She paired us up with Frank who was a perfect fit for the vibe we were going for, and Frank couldn't have been more awesome! Leading up to the event, he was really responsiveness, and on the night of the wedding, he really went with the flow and helped us reorder certain events to make the timeline work in real time. This review is a little late but I just had to make sure I got around to it eventually. We used Sound In Motion as our DJ/MC for our wedding and let me just say that we were SO lucky to get Adam as our DJ. So many of our guests commented on how great our DJ was and how much fun the dance floor was. You know how sometimes the dance floor tends to rise and decline in popularity throughout the night? Well not at our wedding! Adam managed to keep the dance popping till the very last song of the night!!! Adam was super accommodating before the wedding, he even helped us master a very specific entrance song and performance! He got the timing perfectly on the big day!! We were thrilled that it worked out so well. During the reception he was taking requests, getting the crowd into the music, and just being an all around positive guy. We can't thank you enough Adam and anyone that gets to have you DJ their big day is incredibly lucky.

I found Sound in Motion Entertainment Group because I am a San Jose Sharks fan and season ticket holder. Most of you who have been to a Sharks game at SAP center have heard that they provide the music in game but before they officially did a member of their team did the street rallys, Raffi. He is so amazing if you've ever had the pleasure of meeting him and at a street rally I walked up to him and asked if they do weddings, he said like every weekend haha. Unfortunately because I was getting married in Auburn just outside of Sacramento it did limit me to only 1 DJ on their team, Matt. The moment I spoke to Matt on the phone, I knew that I was lucky that he was the DJ available for my area. He instantly seemed to understand what I was looking for and was able to know what type of music fan I was. He kept in frequent contact with me and even created my wedding day timeline for me. On the day of the wedding he was so amazing, especially since my wedding had to start late. My whole family agreed about how amazing he wad and everyone had such a great time. I would recommend both the company Sound in Motion for their quick rate of responsive to get me booked and Matt if you are in that area for his awesome personality and his amazing professionalism.

While not a wedding, my father's 90th birthday was made complete by the service of SIM. Adrian and the entire crew are professional and really can make any event incredibly personal and special. I highly recommend them for any event... they're on for my next anniversary party!

We had used Sound of Motion for our business New Years Party and we had Logan who did an amazing job keeping the party going all night! We were so happy with how the event turned out we decided to use the company again for my wedding! This time we had Andy Acker who went above and beyond to make sure the day was exactly how my husband and I wanted it. We only had to meet one time in person, then after that we spoke on the phone a couple of times leading up to the wedding day. On the day of I knew Andy would take care of us. And he sure did! Logan is a bomb DJ. He kept the party going like I've never seen before during the dancing portion of our wedding at Gardener Ranch in August 2016. All the young kids knew every word of every song and the old folks had a great time dancing even though they didn't know if the funk comes from uptown or downtown. The songs were perfectly mixed together and there wasn't a single lull in the fun. Logan’s sound system during the ceremony and toasts was also on point. We've all been to weddings where you can't make out the touching vows the couple have written, but this wasn't the case with Logan. Logan made sure our sound system was perfect. He was a consummate professional in the run up to the wedding. He was super responsive to email, created a shared Google doc with all of our details, and was super prepared on the big day.

Logan was a simple and effective MC during our reception. It never felt like undue attention was being directed his way, yet every event and toast flowed smoothly, which was exactly what we wanted. Logan created an awesome soundtrack for the party and made sure all things audio went more than smooth. Logan even checked in with me (the groom) to make sure I knew how my mic during the ceremony was going to work. Logan has one of the best reputations in the business from so many other wedding vendors. We did our due diligence and know that it gets no better than Logan. He's the party DJ that you'd want to take home to your mom.

Our wedding was a PARTY, which is exactly what we wanted and would not have been possible without Andy, our DJ from Sound in Motion. From the moment guests were arriving until the time the party was over, Andy was setting the tone and making sure the ambience for our day matched our expectations. When my husband and I first met with Andy, we were so excited that he would be DJing our wedding. He is super laid back, knowledgable, and invested in his customers. Do you have a secret love of Justin Bieber? Andy will play Boyfriend on repeat if thats what you want. Looking for a mix of modern and classic beats? Not a problem. Throughout the day, we transitioned from the sweet notes of Frank Sinatra to 90's hip hop, Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake...Andy took our music tastes and our guests requests, gaged the mood of the crowd and created a night that we will never forget. We couldn’t have been more thrilled to have Andy from Sound In Motion be the DJ for our wedding! From our first email interaction, to meeting with him over coffee, to the big day - he made us feel comfortable and confident the whole time. I really don’t think that I can say enough good things about him. He was incredibly responsive via email. He accepted our “please play”, “please DON’T play”, and “please play if the moment is right and you think it would fit” lists, and affirmed all of our choices - which made us feel awesome. He did the music for the ceremony and reception. He was able to accept weather induced venue changes without letting us know if anything went wrong (for all we know - it went perfectly!). Regarding the ceremony, have you ever been to a wedding where the music goes for too long after the processional and everything is just standing there waiting? Of the ceremony is over, and the bride and groom are just standing there awkwardly, eagerly awaiting their musical cue to exit? I PROMISE you that none of that will happen with Andy. You couldn’t be in better hands. Regarding the reception, we had 110% confidence in having him control the tone and energy, which is really what the DJ does. He was GREAT at reading the room. My dad, for example, feels really awkward being the center of attention, so for the Father/Daughter dance, he had us dance solo for only a few moments before inviting on the rest of my side of the family. For the first dance, Andy had mentioned that sometimes if people are clearly uncomfortable, he will fade it out early. During our first dance, though, I didn’t want the moment to end. Andy must have sensed that, and he let the whole song play out. Outside of just Andy, Sound in Motion was GREAT to work with! They were responsive, reasonably priced reasonably priced, and encouraged us to get a photo booth, which was SO fun!! I can’t recommend Andy or the company highly enough!

Sound in Motion was a great choice for us for our Monterey Hotel wedding!. They were on the approved vendor lists of lots of places we toured and we met them in person setting up at once place, and they were so positive and organized I knew we would book with them. The online portal was so easy and helpful to have, along with their song suggestions it made song picking super easy. DJ Brandon did our wedding and it was awesome. They really keep in contact with you, with in person meetings, an online portal, and fast email responses. We told Brandon it was really important that everyone danced and he kept the floor busy, full and upbeat all night. He handled our group wedding dance excellently and knew right when to cut the father daughter dance when it got awkward. We were able to give him some of our weird songs that weren't on their website and he integrated them seamlessly. They handled the music for the outside ceremony as well and I didn't have to worry about a thing. Brandon kept the speeches flowing and directing attention to the appropriate things all night. He was there when we needed him, and let us concentrate on just having fun. They even gave us a free upgrade on lighting that really impressed the crowd and made the venue look magical!
I would defiantly recommend this company and Brandon to anyone looking for a DJ service.

Logan killed it at our wedding at Holman Ranch (Carmel Valley, CA) in March 2016. He ran all of our audio, music, lighting, and emceed the event. He was flawless throughout and we would highly recommend his services for any wedding or event.

Audio
Our wedding ceremony was outdoors, with music and readings. Logan was on-site early with an assistant from Sound in Motion, and had the mics and speakers set up well before any of the guests arrived. The sound was perfect -- no feedback, no wind, loud enough without being overpowering. He played all the songs we wanted before and after the ceremony perfectly. We had never been to a wedding that had such clean and spotless execution. We were thrilled by how well it all went.

Music
Sound in Motion uses a web portal that let us input our song choices for different spots in the event (processional, exit, couple’s entrance, first dance, last dance, etc.) as well as music preferences for the dance portion of the event. Logan played everything we asked for perfectly and didn’t touch anything on our “do not play” list (we heard horror stories of other DJs playing songs from the DNP list, but not with Logan). This still left a lot of room for Logan to fill in the gaps for the music during the cocktail hour and dancing portion. Our group loved the music he chose and stayed on the dance floor all night!

Emcee
Logan also emceed the event, including toasts, introductions, and the cake cutting portion. He was classy, wearing a full suit and being very clear spoken. He was upbeat and fun without being over the top. We had an international crowd with some uncommon names, but Logan nailed every pronunciation (we walked him through the names during our in-person meeting and could tell that he practiced them).

In total, we couldn’t have been happier with DJ Logan and the Sound in Motion team. We highly recommend their services for weddings and other events. Thanks, Logan!

Brian was amazing at our wedding. He was super easy going and helped us out when we had no idea what we were doing. He set up and got everything going and organized (including our guitarist outfitted and oriented) without needing any guidance on the day of. He helped us select songs, and kept the dance floor packed all night.

The system that Sound in Motion provided was easy to use, and the equipment was great (plenty of mics, speakers, etc to help with both the indoor and outdoor portions of our event).

My now husband and I used Sound in Motion to DJ our wedding last month. DJ Brian Covington was awesome! He met with us, kept in touch with us and reassured us that things would go smoothly the day of our wedding. We really felt like he went above and beyond to help make things go smoothly. All that aside, he kept our wedding guests dancing all night! Even I couldn't stop dancing and I had to greet guests at the same time. We had so much fun! He was professional and at the same time laid back and easy to get along with. We felt comfortable with him and my wedding party was particularly impressed that he got all their names right when they were introduced.

We hired Andy Acker through Sound in Motion for our July 2015 wedding at Seascape, and were thoroughly happy with him a as a DJ. His communication with us beforehand (emails, a few brief phone calls and one in-person meeting about a month out) took just the right amount of time and attention. He was thorough while still being concise and efficient, which is pretty much what you want from a vendor in the weeks leading up to the wedding.

On the day itself Andy did a great job of setting up and managing the sound, both during the outdoor ceremony and the indoor reception. The ceremony was on a windy bluff with several people wearing wireless mics (plus a harpist and a few others using wired mics), but the sound coverage and quality were great. At the reception itself Andy guided the introductions, toasts and speeches without becoming the center of attention.

On top of that he really read the crowd well, picking song choices that fit the vibe and giving attention both the older and the younger members of the crowd and generally satisfying everyone. His selections matched our taste in music well, just based on a few emails and a 1-hour conversation. Little things like this plus attention to many other small (but important) details really made for a truly excellent DJ experience.

Stephen was our DJ, and he was awesome! The music he played was exactly what we wanted, and not just the requested stuff. He kept the party fun and lively, and everyone had a great time. Stephen was courteous and helpful throughout the entire event. I could not ask for more. I will definitely recommend Sound in Motion to any friends and family looking for DJ services.

Raffi and the entire team at Sound in Motion were phenomenal! Beyond professional and helpful during the planning process and also amazing with day-of adjustments, which despite all best efforts there are always some small things that need improvising here and there). We had a wonderful time with Sound in Motion! Raffi was our DJ, and he was a treat to work with both in the months leading up to our wedding and during the event itself. That ends up mattering quite a lot, and I was proud to see how elegantly everything came together. We were actually recommended to work with Raffi through our wedding venue, since they had always had such positive experiences with him.

Raffi gave us more than just DJ services during the reception. We also rented an excellent photobooth from Sound in Motion (looking at the pictures now still makes us giggle). Raffi provided music on a mobile speaker setup for our Indian-style baraat/procession. And most importantly, Raffi provided all the sound system and microphone setup for our ceremony itself. We put a LOT of thought into our ceremony, and it was a relief to know that we wouldn't have to worry one bit about the audio. Everything worked perfectly.

Raffi was an especially good choice for us because we had a joint Indian-Mexican wedding, and we wanted to make sure that our DJ could understand the rhythm and pace of what we had in mind. Raffi was very experienced and brought a lot of knowledge and energy to our process. He even listened to a number of Bollywood songs to familiarize himself with some of the music we wanted. He gave us many ideas that we hadn't even thought of before.

Furthermore, I enjoyed the software that Sound in Motion uses to have you select your must-play and must-not-play songs. It wasn't the most modern looking, but it brought up song suggestions really well and gave me a number of ways to choose and organize my songs. It helped me organize my thoughts while planning.

All in all, I'd certainly recommend Raffi and Sound in Motion for any event, and especially for a wedding. You won't go wrong!

Sound in Motion was very easy to work with from my first conversation with Raffi to the last dance with DJ Logan Andren. Logan came to our house ahead of time and met with us to fully understand the "feeling" we wanted throughout the party. He also met with The Holly Farm and made sure he understood all the logistics there. The Italian Dinner music was perfect as was the dance mix played later. Logan was friendly and professional. I'd highly recommend him and Sound in Motion for your wedding or party.

Oh my goodness, where to begin. Raffi is a true businessman. Professional, honest, and true to his word. We had Andrew work with us for our daughter's wedding. He was fabulous. Sound In Motion is truly a class act. I was worried I wasn't going to be able to enjoy our daughter's wedding, but that was not the case. Andrew lead us through the evening like he had done it his entire life. This is a company you want to work with.

Brian DJ'ed our wedding at everything went great. He helped us put together the music selection for our attendees to ensure that everyone had a great time. He and his assistant were very polite and professional as well. The personable service we received from the office staff was very appreciated as well. We called many vendors and were impressed at how responsive and helpful everyone at Sounds in Motion was. We would recommend them for any occasion.

We contacted Sound in Motion because they were on the preferred vendor list for our venue at Clos LaChance Winery. We got in touch with Frank who was quick to respond to our e-mails, basically helped us plan out the days order of events as well as recommend some song choices when we got stuck. What stood out to me the most was at our final meeting he made sure to go over EVERY SINGLE significant song choice with us to ensure he had the correct artist and version we were wanting. He even went as far as notating the exact second of which to start our requested songs at and on wedding day it worked out perfectly! Song selections, contract, and payments were super easy with their online system. Frank even helped the Mother of the Bride pull off a surprise song during the toasts. I would definitely recommend Frank and Sound of Motion again!

I don't like wedding planning. I learned this almost immediately when I had to start making decisions. I like to think that I'm one of those laid back, go with the flow types and even I started to go a bit detail-crazy. You think that you know what you want and then BAM! Pinterest. You feel like you're constantly questioning yourself on whether you've made the right decisions and hoping people will still have a good time even if one of the hundreds of votive candles is out of place. Choosing Sound in Motion was definitely a good decision. My venue (Kennolyn in Soquel) had a preferred list which included SIM, but I had picked them before I even knew that list existed. The DJ's at SIM have worked that venue many times and knew the layout and general flow of the weddings that take place there. SIM made it really easy to decide on what types of music I wanted to play at what times. All of their planning tools were online, which was really handy. There were several lists for music, including songs you definitely want played, songs you don't really mind if they're played, and my favorite, the "do not play" list. I was also able to choose what I kind of music I wanted during guest arrival, cocktail hour, dinner, and the reception. These were things I didn't even think about until they asked. We had Stephen and he was awesome! I was emailing him up until the day before the wedding and was very responsive to last minute changes. He respected all of my requests (especially the no speeches or relatives having access to microphones request). He checked in with me constantly throughout the ceremony to make sure things were going how I wanted them and gently made suggestions if he knew a way to achieve a better flow. It was perfect!
Stephen, if you are reading this, you are a gem. I can't thank you enough for making our day absolutely perfect. You were able to dig though my layers of crazy to find out what I really wanted and you made it happen. You are the best!!!

We only had a 4.5 month engagement, so we were in a rush to find a reliable DJ. Another vendor recommended Sound in Motion to us and we were quickly able to get the info we needed (Frank is awesome and thorough) in order to make a decision. Brian Covington was available to DJ for us and not only got to know what we wanted/needed, but was super flexible with a last minute venue change (a nightmarish story for another time...). He's not showy or salesy at all, but was down to earth, chill, and super organized. He kept us on track with getting our song preferences in (along with giving us some grace). A lot of the music we wanted wasn't in their library, but it was no problem at all. They had the music ready to go on our wedding day.

You know those ceremonies that are so perfect except that the sound gets all messed up and everyone is secretly cringing? Well, not our wedding. The music and sound was PERFECT even though it was an outdoor wedding. We got so many compliments on the ceremony music.

Brian kept the party going with the dance music and honored all our requests. We didn't have to worry about micromanaging any part of the music. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that Sound in Motion is a GREAT company with fair prices and exceptional service. I recommend them! (Ask for Brian!)

Where to start....how about flawless, upbeat, amazing. Thats how I describe Logan and the team at Sound in Motion. This company, that DJ, the best. When planning a wedding the one thing that worried me, how would this photographer, that DJ, and this coordinator work together? Would they flow as one and make the night amazing. That is exactly what happened, truly professional in everything he did. He had the attention of the guests but never took the focus away from the bride and groom. We had to skip the cake cutting because the dance floor never once stopped! The party goes on!!! Sound in Motion has a client for life. I highly recommend them and Logan as the DJ. Perfect!

Raffi is a hoot! He knows how to liven up a crowd, keep people shaking and moving and entertained. His smile, laugter and personality is contagious! Sound in Motion is very responsive, and always up for collaboration with Corporate companies and people alike in the industry to make events happen. He is professional and extremely reliable. Our Grand Opening event was a huge success, with 800+ attending the event. Raffi pulled through to commit a 2nd DJ with a very short 2 day notice. Sound in Motion did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend them for your special event. First of all, they have a great website where you can select and input all the important information for your event, like special dances, songs, speech time, anything- pretty much a timeline of your event, and therefore your party will be flawless!! My DJ was Frankie, he is the best!!! We met a few weeks before the event, we talked about the timeline and all other important details about the dances/music, etc., He was very detailed and wrote absolutely everything down. I had some special requests and everything happened just as I wanted :) Our event was so much fun and he just knew how to keep the crowd dancing and enjoying the night. Andrew Rivas was my DJ and he did a fantastic job. We chatted with him on the phone prior to the wedding, sent him a few "must plays" and got amazing service. All of my friends said our DJ was the best they had seen at a wedding. He was professional, kind, and played music that kept my guests dancing - all ages included. Adrian was FANTASTIC! He was our DJ for our wedding. He was hilarious! He made us laugh, had everyone's full attention, played awesome songs that everyone enjoyed dancing too, basically Adrian made our wedding a day we will always remember.

We hired Raffi to be the MC / DJ at our wedding and could not have been more satisfied with the outcome!

Raffi was extremely professional (yet gregarious!) during our planning session, helping to organize our timeline and make suggestions for our music selection, based on the ambiance we were trying to achieve.

During the wedding day, he did an AMAZING job as our MC, getting the attention of our guests, providing humor throughout the night, and being extremely flexible with last minute changes on our end.

As the DJ, he was able to work off of our music preferences and compile a fantastic playlist, which our guests thoroughly enjoyed.

Finally, we hired Sound in Motion for additional services, including renting equipment for our slideshow, which went extremely smoothly.

Frank Loera from Sound in Motion was our DJ and emcee at our wedding and reception, and he did a great job. We didn't have a specific playlist, but he talked to us over phone and email and met with us to discuss what types of music we like and to get a feel for the tone and atmosphere we wanted. Frank was personable and professional and did a great job switching between the different types of music we wanted, including American and bhangra music, and Frank was a great emcee. We received a number of compliments on the music. Brandon Portillo did SUCH a wonderful job DJ-ing our wedding. From our first meeting to follow up after the wedding he was truly a joy to work with!! We were very impressed with Logan services. Since our initial kickoff meeting through the day of the wedding we were very impressed with how detail oriented, thorough and pleasant to work with Logan and the rest of the sound and motion team. Raffi and his team are phenomenal. Sound In Motion was amazing! We planned our wedding from Tampa, FL and experienced no issues with distance being a challenge. Their website is very easy to customize and plan your wedding with your DJ as well as on your own.
Andrew Rivas was our DJ and did a fantastic job prior to the wedding and during. He made sure that the wedding was about us and there wasn't one thing that he missed all night! Adrian helped was our MC and DJ at my children's school's auction fundraiser. Best.DJ.ever!!!! If your looking for a DJ, look no farther than Kevin! Kevin was the DJ and MC at our wedding and he is absolutely amazing! I work in the wedding industry and have had the pleasure of working with Kevin over the last several years, he is hands down, the best in the business! When I came to the realization that I was having a full blown wedding, Kevin was a must have vendor! He is an amazing MC an has a ton of energy but is never cheesy! He worked with us in advance to review the timeline and capture all of the little details including name pronunciation and executed everything the day of just as we discussed! This review is specifically for Brandon from Sound in Motion. Especially coming from a Hispanic family, I wanted to make sure the DJ we had was competent in Spanish music as well as the usual top hits/old school classics. I actually already had a DJ booked 6+ months before my wedding but he canceled on me less than 2 weeks before the date! I learned of Sound in Motion from a friend who was using the same company but different DJ for her wedding. They put me in contact with Brandon who they said is the "Go To" person for Spanish/Latin music. He actually was originally planning to go to a concert the night of my wedding but upon hearing my situation/desperation, he immediately agreed to be our DJ. He did AMAZING!!! He was a great MC, kept everything on schedule and made the proper announcements at the right time, and the music was AWESOME!! Seriously, I don't think there was a single moment the dance floor was not full! Everyone commented on how great the music was and how much fun they had. My husband and I had a BLAST at our wedding and a HUGE reason why is thanks to Brandon!! We got married in May 2014, and were SO happy we decided to book Sound in Motion. Nick Conforti was the perfect match for us. He did a fantastic job with the timing of music for our ceremony, as well as song selection for our cocktail hour and reception. He spent time getting to know us and made sure our wedding reception would have a good balance of music our guests could dance to and music of me and my husband's taste. The online planner Sound in Motion uses is also extremely helpful, and Nick made sure to get every song that we requested onto their database. Nick was easy to reach via email, he arrived early in the day to be sure the ceremony and reception sites were set up properly for music, and really helped the whole evening run smoothly. Kevin is so good at what he does! I have been to a a few weddings that he DJ'd and when it came time to book ours we didn't look to anyone else. He is so good we also referred Kevin to DJ our work party. He reads the dance floor, knows what to play and makes sure that people stay dancing.

My friends and I all will continue to refer Kevin for any function he can be used for. Hands down best DJ!

Nick was a great DJ. The dance floor was filled throughout the evening and he picked just the right songs. I would highly recommend Nick.

My wife Sasha and I are extremely happy that we decided to hire Sound and Motion Entertainment for our wedding. We had the pleasure of having Nick Conforti as our wedding DJ/MC and he was splendid!! Great guy, super easy to work with, very attentive and super professional! He did an absolutely fantastic job! Thank you Nick!!! :)

Sound in Motion was by far one of the smartest wedding decisions we made!! They are absolutely amazing, professional, and on it with all of their services. We hired them for the following services: DJ, Lighting, Photobooth, Videography. I honestly have nothing but great things to say about each one of their services! First off, our DJ was Adrian. The minute we first met Adrian, we wanted him to be the one to DJ our wedding and, lucky for us, he was available and happy to do so! He helped the whole reception flow effortlessly and he got EVERY single one of our guests up and dancing!! I heard so many compliments about him from friends saying they had never seen their significant other dance, to family saying he was the most respectful DJ. Also, he managed to play all song requests in such a seamless way! Truly, he made the party happen!! I would hire him in a heartbeat for any other event and I cannot recommend him enough to friends! I also trusted his decision on the lighting for the room and when I walked in, I was blown away. It was beautiful! Truly the best service you can get.
As for our videography, Michael was our head videographer. The team was awesome! We wanted to quickly do a 15 min shoot at a scenic point away from our venue and they grabbed their equipment without hesitation and caught every second. Throughout the night, I nearly forgot they were around, they managed to capture everything without getting in the way of any moment! And when we received our highlight video...WOW!!! I have no idea how they captured all of the moments, but they did. And they put it all together in such a special, memorable way. They seriously went beyond my expectations and I cannot thank them enough for capturing such a special day. These guys are seriously talented - do not even think twice about using Sound in Motion for videography services as well, just do it!!!
The photobooth and all its services and the attendant were absolutely amazing, courteous, and a hit too!

I cannot stress how amazing Sound In Motion was not only the day of my wedding but also beforehand. We were sent a very thorough survey to fill out so that they could find out what we were looking for. Then Nick called my husband and I and walked us through the entire night. He had already read the answers we gave to the survey and then helped us with the things we were unsure about. He was open to everything we wanted (and we had a kind of weird request for the garter toss which he was totally onboard with and helped us make it even better.) and patiently answered all of our questions....and we had quite a few.

The day of the wedding he made sure to check in with us and talked to our bridal party to make sure he had all of their names right, before he announced them. He made sure to keep the evening on track and played all of the songs we had put as must plays. Everyone said how much fun they had at our reception. We danced all night and had a great time.

I think a good DJ is an essential part of a wedding and Nick and Sound In Motion were not only good they were great. My wedding would not have been as amazing as it was without them.

Dear Sound In Motion Team,

Thank you for delivering an excellent experience on our wedding day. We were happy with every aspect of the process, starting with our initial meeting and leading to the day-of festivities.

I want to thank Frank Loera especially. He delivered an over-the-top experience and helped make a stressful time much easier for my wife and I. Frank is a professional and good at what he does, he is personable and an all-around good guy. Again, GOOD JOB Frank and thank you for everything.
