Fantastic DJ!

Bill was an awesome DJ! The music was perfect throughout the evening. He did a great job playing so many of the songs we had on our list, and also mixed in some other really great wedding songs that we never would have thought of ourselves. He also provided the microphones for our ceremony on-site, as well as uplighting for our venue, The Bostonian, which looked really fantastic. We would highly recommend him!

Threw an AMAZING party

I can't even begin to explain how amazing Bill and his group made our wedding. We have been to a lot of weddings, and knew that even the worst possible wedding could be salvaged with a good enough DJ. Bill made our already perfect day a party, which is exactly what we wanted. He played a great mix of music for all of our families and our friends, which is not an easy feat. Everyone raved at how fun the reception was, and loved the music. Bill took our personalities and rolled with it, playing songs that we requested and ones he thought fit with the evening. We had asked him to make a transition during our first dance and did so flawlessly, helping us surprise our guests. He even made me feel more comfortable doing the Horah and Chair Lift (something I was dreading) by giving us the great suggestion of doing it right after the first dance, before we start drinking to much to prevent being dropped. They also did our uplighting (which looked amazing and was so worth it!) and our photobooth (our guests LOVED this and loved the props they brought). They brought light up sticks/wands without our request and the guests young and old loved them! We couldn't recommend a better company for your wedding day!

Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved working with Bill! He did my DJ services and these AMAZING tri-lights for my reception which was one of the main reasons I choose him. They were perfect for my theme and because the tri lights could move and change colors, it completely transitioned the feel from 1920s vintage to party time! He helped guide me through what I wanted to do with my music choices and what's even better is he really was there for ME that day --- I previously worked in the wedding industry so I felt that my other vendors involved with my wedding day were pretty standard (and my venue staff were super disappointing) but Bill actually made me FEEL like a bride which was really nice since I was one! All my guests said they had a great time and the dancefloor was always packed!

Dawn and Siobhan photographed our wedding in May and we are so happy with our decision to hire Sound City Entertainment to do our photos. The moment we met Dawn, she was very personable and answers all of our questions. Dawn and Bill met with us a couple of times before the wedding to go over details, names, times, and locations. The day of the wedding ran smoothly. Dawn and Siobhan captured so many great photos and it was great having them there sharing in on the experience of our wedding day. They were also very helpful directing my bridal party as they were not paying great attention during the pictures! We received over a thousand photos from our day and they are so beautiful. I would highly recommend them.

What can I say about Sound City I mean they literally made the wedding, I used Sound City for Photography, DJ, Photobooth and Lighting. The are a one-stop shop and they specialize in it all. Dawn is an amazing photographer, she knows how to deal with people when they start to get rowdy, and she has a great eye for the pictures. Bill was our DJ and he knows just how to get the crowd going, hes got the voice and the ability to mix the perfect songs together, and yet still managed to get a few request in from guest. The team at Sound City are amazing I truly cannot say enough good things about them, book them and you will not be disappointed!

Bill and his team were amazing! From our first meeting, my fiance and I knew that he was a perfect fit! Our guests were dancing all night and we got rave reviews on our music! He specified the music to what we and our guests enjoy listening and dancing too. I could not be happier with their professionalism and how our wedding turned out! We are so happy that Sound City Entertainment was our wedding DJ! The day of our wedding was incredibly, and unseasonably, hot. I was worried that would keep people off the outdoor dance floor. But I was wrong! They kept the party going and the dance floor packed all night with incredible music! They were very easy to work with, very responsive, and flexible! We love that they took requests from our guests, and they honored the requests we had sent them ahead of time. Many of our guests raved about the music, and even said that when they wanted to take a break from dancing and the heat, another great song would come on and they just couldn't leave the dance floor! Music was one of the most important parts of our wedding for us, and we are so happy we chose Sound City Entertainment!

Sound City was recommended by our venue as they had done a number of events there. We could not be more surprised or pleased with what came out of the meeting. Tim (the Groom) and I were looking for Photography, DJ, Uplighting and a PhotoBooth. We met with Dawn and Bill and were immediately drawn to them. Our first meeting lasted over 2 hours (and that was before we even signed a contract). Both Tim and I can be rather verbose, but after a little bit, it was like we were talking to old friends. We signed a contract for 6 hours of photography with Dawn and an assistant, as well as Bill and an assistant to be our DJ. They would also bring uplighting, pipe and drape for the ceremony, and a photobooth at our request! We met with Bill and Dawn again about 1 month prior to the wedding to go through song requests, and photo requests. This meeting was like hanging out with friends again, and it was so much fun. Tim and I couldn’t decide on some of our spotlight dance songs, and Bill had pulled together suggestions that fit both our tastes and our personalities. The day of the wedding-Dawn took time to talk to all the kids in my family and try to connect with them so that she could get good shots as well as making grandma laugh. Shivohn went to take care of groom shots, while Dawn stayed with me and my family. Meanwhile, Bill and Andrew were busy setting up our ceremony, including the backdrop in the reception room as well as the DJ booth in the back. Trevor was our photobooth master. Our reception was top notch fun. Bill really got the crowd dancing. Our reception went by so fast, but there was a moment that my husband walked up to Bill and said that there was a newer song that he wanted to hear so that he could dance with me. Bill found it, giving Tim and I an impromptu emotional moment with all our friends. I am counting down the days to see the photos. We received one “teaser” photo (AMAZING) and I can’t wait to see the rest! THANK YOU DAWN, BILL, and TEAM!

I was fortunate enough to go with my daughter and son in law to the appointment to meet Dawn & Bill at Sound City Entertainment. They answered every question, were extremely easy to talk to, never pushing to make a sale. Needless to say, we knew as we left they would be the ones to hire for the wedding and we are grateful that we did. They did the lights, Dj, photo booth and photography. The day was perfect, these are professionals that do an amazing job!! Everyone had a great time, music was awesome, photo booth was a hit and the photos are absolutely beautiful. Can't thank them enough for making my daughter and son in law's day worry free and just perfect .

Sound City was great at our wedding. So professional and responsive to all emails and had every detail down to a science the day of. They provided music during our cocktail hour and our reception, and my the end of the night EVERYONE's shoes were off and people were dancing like crazy! Two of my friends recommended Sound City to us and I would recommend them to everyone else.

We booked Sound City for both photography and DJ for our October 2015 wedding. Dawn was our photographer - we haven't received the wedding pictures back yet, but we previously did an engagement photo shoot with Dawn, and the pictures from that were great. So I know the wedding ones will be, too! We also ordered an album of our engagement pictures, which turned out lovely. Dawn kept all the group photos moving quickly on the day of the wedding, so we didn't have to spend hours standing and posing for pictures. We got comments from our guests saying that she seemed great, as well. We also had Clinton from Sound City as our DJ. He was great! We got so many comments from guests saying that he was charismatic, kept up a good energy in the room, and kept things moving at a good pace. We didn't get a chance to meet Clinton beforehand, so we were just trusting Bill & Dawn and the other great reviews we read online - and it worked out great! No need to worry!
I was very impressed with the amount of time Bill and Dawn spent with us when we met at their office a few times. We had to come in the evenings, after work, and they stayed and talked with us for hours. They were very organized, and made sure both they and we had all the info needed up front, to make the wedding day go smoothly!

Amazing! I was so impressed with Bill- his professionalism, knowledge, and execution of putting on a great night! We met with Bill about a month before the wedding and he spent 90 minutes with us, asking us songs we wanted for different parts of the night. Of course, my fiance and i were not as prepared as we should have been, but Bill was! He had so many different options of songs to play on the spot for us at the meeting to help determine our father/daughter dance, intro songs, cake cutting songs, etc.
When it came to the actual night 6/20/15---Thank God for Bill! He kept the night organized. My wedding coordinator was not really around, but Bill made SURE i got to all the things i wanted to do. He had someone track me down to do my cake cutting, he had someone find me to do the bouquet toss. He kept the night so organized.....So he didn't just play music, he was instrumental in keeping things on track! Lastly, not only was the music great, but we all know if people aren't moving and dancing then its not a good party! BIll made SURE to get people on the dancefloor by playing a few games earlier in the night. Simple things to get everyone involved and get everyone on the dancefloor. People LOVED it! I can honestly say I've been to 20 weddings in the past 3 years and i Truly think Bill was the best. He was an entertainer, not just a DJ!

We really enjoyed our engagement photo session with Dawn! She gave us a lot of helpful information in advance to help us prepare for the photo shoot. She had so many great ideas for shots and had such a fun and positive attitude! We loved how our engagement pictures turned out and can't wait to see the wedding pictures!

Dawn was an excellent wedding photographer! She gave us so many great images after the wedding, and was fun and professional to work with before and during the wedding! She captured the many moments that were important to us in stunning photographs. We were also thrilled to work with Bill as our DJ for the reception! He was an excellent entertainer and played music that we loved! Our guests are still talking about what a wonderful dance party it was! Sound City also provided the uplighting, which really helped transform the ballroom. We also enjoyed the limousine service as part of our package! We can't wait to see our wedding video once it's ready!. We are very happy that we chose Sound City and would highly recommend all of their services - especially photography and DJ!!

Sound City Entertainment not only helped make my wedding a night to remember but assured me that everything would turn out exactly the way I imagined it and they were right! The DJs took charge of everything (communication between photographer, wedding planner, food servers & guests) making sure everyone was on the same page throughout the night. Before the toasts, parent dances, and cake cutting they made sure everyone was in the room so no one would miss out on the important parts of the night. I can't say enough good things about Sound City! We had Dawn as our photographer for our wedding in September 2014. I initially fell in love with Dawn when I saw her work at a bridal show recently after getting engaged. I immediately knew I wanted to work with her. She makes you feel extremely comfortable and becomes a part of your family for your big day! Everything I requested for pictures was captured. We also did our limo service through them and unfortunately our limo broke down 30 minutes before the ceremony was suppose to start. Dawn kept me calm the whole time and before I could start to panic a new limo was on the way!! She distracted me by taking a few more pictures while we waited! Siobhan (I hope I am spelling right) who was Dawn's assistant was also amazing! She was with the guys at the church and they loved working with her! I would highly recommend Dawn and her team at Sound City! The pictures are so worth the wait and you won't be disappointed!

We used Sound City Entertainment for our DJ, Uplighting and Photography for our wedding held on 10/17/14. We chose them based on the reviews we read on the knot.com and we are so fortunate that we did. Bill (DJ) was amazing! We pretty much left our music selection up to him and he killed it! We have been married for over a week now and everyone we have talked to is still talking about how much fun they had at the wedding and how much they loved the music and DJ. Dawn & Siobhan were our photographers and they were outstanding!! Our wedding party LOVED them both and felt extremely comfortable with them. Dawn took the time to get to know us and our wedding party which made things so much easier. Dawn also kept my wife and I extremely calm. We seriously didn't have to worry about a THING!! Where to even begin! Dawn and Bill and the rest of the staff are amazing! They made our wedding day the best day of our lives and one we will never forget. I am sure the pictures taken by Dawn will be absolutely stunning. Bill was an amazing Dj keeping the dancing going all night! All of our guests loved the photo booth and have told us that it was "the best wedding they have ever been to."

To anyone looking for entertainment services, STOP HERE! Bill and Dawn DiOrio of SoundCity Entertainment are all you need!!
As busy professionals, the idea of having multiple services at one place was intriguing and Dawn and Bill delivered perfection. From our initial meeting, we knew that we were in good hands. Dawn and Bill took the time to get to know us, our wedding, our crazy family dynamics and our style. They were respectful of our needs and wishes, but offered great advice in all aspects of the wedding and were helpful from start to finish.
We had our engagement session with Dawn in the fall and she took the time on a very windy day to make sure she got the best photos of us. She laughed with us and really became a friend through the process.
As we got closer to our big day, Bill and Dawn reached out to discuss details, and they helped us think of things we had never thought of! When the big arrived, we knew we had nothing to worry about, that Dawn and Bill and their team would work to make our day run smoothly and they were awesome! Our guests continue to talk about how much fun they had the night of our wedding and it was 3 months ago. The music was great, the timing of everything was awesome. We had some special acknowledgments during the night and they helped us honor the important people in our lives.
When getting ready, Dawn was a huge help and took the time to get pictures of everything! We could not be more thrilled with the proofs we have received. She was able to capture the love of the day, the joy in all of our guests, the importance of the ceremony, and craziness that is our family and friends. She made a great connection to our bridal party and we had a lot of fun together taking pictures.
They are reasonably priced, flexible, and easy to work with. We couldn't have asked for better people to help us make our day perfect.

I can't say enough about how professional and amazing Sound City Entertainment was at our wedding. Bill was a pleasure and down-to-earth person to work with from day one. As soon as we walked into his office to meet with him, we knew that he was going to do an exceptional job at our wedding. There was no pressure to sign any contracts on that first meeting, which for us sealed the deal. Bill was accommodating to our ideas and had fantastic ideas of his own. He kept our friends and family dancing the whole night, and I can't even express how many compliments we received about our DJ that night! I chose Sound City Entertainment for my wedding photographers and they were amazing! I also chose to use their photo booth for our favors. Dawn and Shivhon did an amazing job! Dawn and Bill both sat down with me on a few occasions before the wedding to go over every little detail. Dawn emailed me back and forth quickly with all the questions I had. I loved that they called ME and checked in about a month before the wedding to finalize everything. Dawn went above and beyond to make my wedding party feel comfortable, even coming to my ceremony rehearsal to learn everyone's names and faces the night before the wedding. My husband is a little uncomfortable with getting his picture taken, but she had him laughing and joking that it felt like we have known her for years. She made my wedding party laugh the whole time which made our pictures come out very natural and unforced. My guests LOVED the photo booth and I love being able to look back at the pictures. Most importantly, the pictures came out amazing! I was told by several people that they had never seen such beautiful wedding pictures. If you want one less thing to stress about when planning a wedding, go with Sound City Entertainment and they will make it so easy!!

Hi,

I recently hired Sound City Entertainment for our wedding. I used their DJ, Photographer and Video Services. They came highly recommended by the venue where I had my wedding. This is a tough choice for any couple (bride) as you don't know for sure what you are getting until your big day and it's not something you can do a trial run for as is the case with hair and make-up for the bride.

With that said, I can't even begin to express how much I enjoyed working with Bill, Dawn & Team. I am a very detailed person, with lists and schedules. Sound City was the perfect match for me. Giving up control does not come easy, however, I found myself telling everyone throughout my wedding day, do whatever Dawn says. They are that good!

Sound City took every idea I had expressed and executed better than I had imagined it.

I walked in to meet them a nervous bride and walked away feeling like my wedding was just handled by two very close friends.

My husband and I got married on March 22, 2014. My wedding was perfect due to Sound City Entertainment. From the lights, to the fog for the first dance, to the photo booth, to the videography to the photos; everything was absolutely amazing. Clinton, Bill and Dawn, thank you so much for making my dream wedding come true. I am having a very hard time cutting down my "favorite" pictures because they all came out good! One more thing I must add, the DJ was amazing!! He made sure everything was going smoothly and didn't play any outdated music- which was one of my biggest worries. Sound City Entertainment was amazing!!
I would highly recommend them. Bill was amazing from beginning to end! He has an amazing voice! If you want your guests up and on their feet having a great time dancing to the perfect mix then this is the DJ you want. I also used there lighting which changed the atmosphere and made the room coordinate with my color scheme for our wedding. They also did a great job coordinating with the function hall staff so that the day's events ran smoothly and on schedule.

I also used them for my photography! They are creative, personable and you can trust them to capture more than you could hope for. I love all my photos and was amazed by the talent Dawn has as a photographer. I love all the Ideas that she came up and captured every moment!

They were the best vendor investment we made for the day and was so easy to do it all with them. Thank you both for making that day amazing and enjoyable! I will use them for any future photography or DJ session for sure!!

These guys are amazing! I booked most of my wedding services with them, my venue had my limousine in their package..

Hands down: the wedding would not have been the success it was, if not for Sound City Entertainment! Dawn and Madeline, our photographers were amazing. Not only did they work super hard all day long, but they were so fun to be around - smiling and keeping us calm. Our DJ, Bill, was awesome! He kept the dance floor full ALL NIGHT LONG. The mix of music he played ensured all ages had a blast. I wish I could post pics to prove it on here. Our limo driver, Mark was so sweet. They're not joking when they said Red Carpet Service, you feel like a princess. The videographer was great, I hardley knew he was there. The best part of all was having just one contact for all the services, it's SO worth it. Thank you Sound City for making the planning process such a breeze and the BIG DAY such a success!

Once again you have outdone yourselves! The entertainment and photography service for my sisters wedding 5/29/10 was outstanding! I had so many things to worry about to ensure this day was going to be perfect for her, I knew that both Bill & Dawn DiOrio were one aspect I had not worry a second about. Our guests had a blast and what we saw from the photos so far, the only thing I can saw is “wow”! Are we really that good looking?? Anyways, I can’t express my gratitude. I look forward to many more events working together.

My husband and I spent months looking for a company that offered all services (DJ, Photography, Videography). We came across Sound City Entertainment when a friend of mine got married. She said they were terrific. I made an appointment to speak with Bill and Dawn (owners) and loved them both from the moment we met.

Bill, who was the DJ of our wedding did a fantastic job. He is so outgoing, is up to date on all music, as well as equipment and has a love for music which all DJ's must have. He provided my guests with a night of music that nobody could ever forget. As well as music, he brought along some fun "items' to make the party a bit more interesting. He had straw hats, streamers and even knew how to entertain the children that attended our wedding. Superb job.

Dawn, was our photographer. All I can say is the pictures are breathtaking. She is amazing. I could not have asked for more. What I loved about Dawn is she knew how to capture all the perfect moments, but most of all you never really noticed her. She took pictures without anyone really knowing she was around.

Our video is the best I have seen. Each part is captured and put together very nicely. I do not remember the name of the person who took care of this for us; but he was wonderful as well. My husband and I watch it each year on our anniversary and still cry tears of joy.

Now, I also want to add in here that I am not an easy person to please nor get along with. I asked a ton of questions, e-mailed a thousand times a day, and never once did either of them sound frustrated. They always re-assured me that they are there to work with me and help me make my special day perfect. It was more than perfect, thanks to them.

My husband is NOT a dancer and the only time I have seen him on the dance floor dancing was at our wedding. Bill had to have put something in the air.

Thank you to Sound City Entertainment for all your hard work, dedication as well as the memories to last a life time.... I would be happy to recomend anyone to this company.

From the moment my now-husband and I sat down to talk with Bill, we knew we were in good hands! We were nervous about everything, we had no idea what to do, when, how, but Bill had an answer for everything, even things he didn't have anything to do with!

At the reception, he did everything perfectly! He went above and beyond with getting the crowd involved, but not in a cheesy way! We didn't want a DJ that was going to make the crowd uncomfortable, but also provide enough energy to keep the mood up. He did just that. I keep getting comments from guests about how great he was! I don't think people sat down all night!

Can not thank Bill and his team enough! Really helped us make the best wedding we could have hoped for!

My husband and I knew that the DJ and photographer were going to be the most important aspects of our wedding for level of fun and capturing important memories. We had researched Djs and photographer separately and were so fortunate to have found Sound City Entertainment. Bill, our DJ, made sure everyone got out on the dance floor all night long -- all ages, including my elderly aunt and 4-year-old nephew. Dawn, our photographer was amazing and her eye for artistry is breathtaking. I cannot recommend them enough, they exceeded my hopes and expectations in every way. And on top of that, they are fantastic people!

Created the perfect vibe for our wedding

We chose Sound City Entertainment after watching them perform at a wedding expo. We were so impressed how they were able to get a room full of strangers on their feet and celebrating like they were at an actual wedding. We talked after and said “if they can do that with a room full of strangers, imagine what they could do with a room full of family and friends.” Well, Sound City 100% did not disappoint. They were true professionals from start to finish and the guests couldn’t stop raving about the music and entertainment that was provided. They kept the party going all night long and created the exact vibe we were hoping for. We would absolutely recommend them for any wedding or event.

Bill at Sound City was the DJ at my daughter's wedding last month and I have to say I am not a big fan of DJ's, but Bill was fantastic! He started off low key and kept things moving, introductions, toast, cake, etc. He built the energy levels in the room with the music. I don't think the reception would have been anywhere close to being as successful as it was without Bill. Everyone got back to us and raved about Sound City. He also coordinated with our photographer so she knew exactly what was coming next. Thanks Bill.

We were so happy with the DJ for our wedding day. I can not tell you how awesome the night was due to the DJ. Being married before and having an awful DJ in the past I knew how important a DJ is for a reception. The only minor problem I had was communication when we first started the process, but I think that was in part to the company moving to a new address. They really did exactly what we wanted and the night could not have gone any better. It went so well, we kept the party going for an extra hour. Highly recommend this company to use for your DJ needs.

Very disappointed after a lot of reassurance.

Sound City was recommended to us by several different sources for us to use as the DJ for our wedding at the Bostonian Hotel in October 2019. After our experience with this company we would not share that recommendation with others seeking a wedding DJ.

In the months leading up to the ceremony Bill (the owner of Sound City) communicated with us several times, seemingly ensuring that his company’s performance would meet our expectations. We had several specific requests that, thanks to our conversations with Bill, we felt very strongly would be no issue for Sound City to follow through on.
A few of these requests were:
- Having the song my wife walked down the aisle to be faded out at a certain time to avoid certain lyrics.
- Having our reception intro song be started and cut off at specific times so that a certain part of the song would be played.
- Specific playlists with songs that were to be played at different portions of the event (pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, etc.).
As stated Bill reassured us that all of these requests would be no issue to deliver, and even worked with me specifically over the phone to determine exactly when certain songs should be faded in or out and when each playlist provided should be used.

Fast forward to the Thursday before the wedding. My now wife received a phone call from Brad, an employee at Sound City, who introduced himself and asked if we had any questions for the ceremony. This was surprising for us, as we were under the impression that Bill would be working our wedding, especially after communicating and coordinating so many details and specifics with Bill in regards to our event. Brad reassured us that this was no issue and that he had it under control.

Brad did not have it under control.
- The Bride’s entrance song was not cut off when we had coordinated it to be, leaving a rather depressing and unhappy verse to be played as the happiest ceremony of our lives was just beginning.
- The microphone attached to my lapel and used during the ceremony was far too loud when I spoke (I was forced to practically whisper), and far too quiet for my wife (I had to make it a point to lean in when she spoke).
- Just before the ceremony began (when my wife’s nerves were highest), Brad asked our wedding coordinator to ask my wife what color the uplighting for the reception was supposed to be (something we coordinated with Bill during our conversations), and then asked my wife directly immediately after the wedding while we were signing our wedding certificate. This irked me extensively as I know the stress my wife was feeling that day (at least until dinner was served). Anyone in the wedding industry knows not to bother the bride on the wedding day, especially with a minute detail.
- During the reception, our introduction song was not started or faded out at the appropriate times, making our entrance feel awkward especially considering we stood in front of the attendees waiting for our first dance to begin for at least 10 seconds (a very long time to be standing and waiting with 200 eyes looking at you).
- The last song of the night (pre-requested and coordinated by us) was very unsuccessful and disappointing. Two separate tracks of the same song were played over each other, causing them to overlap, making it completely inaudible and confusing to guests.
- Multiple songs were played that were specifically on our “Do Not Play” list.

The most upsetting thing that occurred was that the playlists and songs that I had coordinated with Bill were not followed or used. I had to speak with Brad multiple times during the reception to find out that Brad did not receive those lists at all, although he did make every attempt to work in some of those songs after the I brought this up. This was especially frustrating considering the time and effort that my wife and I had put into making them uniquely our own, as well as the continued reassurance by Bill that our request to use these playlists was not at all an issue.

From what we can gather, it appears as though Brad was given the minimum amount of information to do his job, and was not given the document that I had prepared (which included important information, like when to fade/end certain songs, our Do Not Play list, as well as specific songs we wanted to have played throughout the entire event).
We truly feel as though the final product we received during our wedding did not reflect the reputation and reviews of Sound City, nor the amount of money we paid for the company’s services.

After the event we emailed Bill and communicated our concerns listed above, and received a reply stating that he would follow-up with Brad and get back to us. That was in late October 2019. We have not heard back from anybody at Sound City regarding this matter since that initial reply, even after reaching out several times to see if any progress had been made.

We do not want other couples to go through what we went through on our wedding day.

Almost ruined my wedding experience!

Simply put, working with Sound City Entertainment almost ruined my wedding. Thinking back to wedding planning, the day of, and the months (almost a year) afterwards, dealing with Dawn & Bill DiOrio caused major headaches.
We booked Sound City two years before our wedding for photography, DJ, photobooth, and up-lighting. From that point on, communication with this company was impossible. Emails always went unanswered until I either followed up with a second email or got another person involved. Phone calls went to a full voicemail so many times I honestly thought I was being scammed by a fake company. When we did connect, they were always full of lengthy excuses and/or attitude. I felt I was very understanding; however, I am paying them a great deal of money and just want an acceptable service with a limited amount of personal excuses.
Prior to the wedding day, we had a phone call discussing preferences, shot lists, line-up of the wedding party, and how to pronounce names. This call may as well have never happened. I requested one photo specifically, a shot of my cathedral veil in the wind. Not only did I have to remind Dawn that I wanted this shot, but she attempted for a few minutes and then told me we couldn’t make it happen. I never got my photo. Bill made us start from scratch and tell him the line-up of the wedding party, again, in the bridal suite before we walked into the reception. Then watching our video back, he mispronounced several names, including my grandparents.
After the wedding we were so excited to receive our photos only to be disappointed yet again. We didn’t even have a “sneak preview” until a month after the wedding and were getting really frustrated, receiving many excuses from Dawn (mostly telling us she was handling other clients). Did not receive photo booth pictures over two months after the wedding when we asked for them. After many attempts to reach out, we FINALLY received our online gallery of photos 5 months after the wedding. Totally unacceptable in this age of technology when some couples are receiving their galleries even days after the event!
Now comes to choosing photos for the album and making edits. I had my choices submitted back to Dawn less than one month after the gallery was released (March). We were told with their workload & the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, she would do her best but “at the very least receive an album design layout – in the coming weeks.” We had to reach out again 3 months later, June, when we still had no layout. Dawn used the excuse that the printing labs were closed due to the pandemic, however, there is no reasonable excuse why our online design layout couldn’t have been worked on in the meantime. We FINALLY received our layout in August (10 months after our wedding). Then just shy of ONE YEAR AFTER OUR WEDDING we got the hard copy of our wedding album in the mail.
Financially this was so infuriating. They had our full payment before the day of the wedding, so we were totally at their mercy. At one point being told by Dawn that, with work being slow, they did not have the funds to complete and print our album. Our money was already spent and we had no product to show for it! What kind of reputable business operates like this?!
There were even more issues working with this company but too many to explain. They are a fairly expensive service that provides a terrible experience and a great deal of unnecessary stress. Stay far away from Sound City Entertainment!
