Best DJ in Indy!

My husband (fiancé at the time) and I had been to a friends wedding that Mike was DJ’ing and we knew right away that we had to book him for ours. Our friends had great things to say about working with him so he was one of the vendors that we felt very confident with. After booking with him, we didn’t have anything to do until the week of, which was really nice considering how many vendors are emailing you and giving you to-do’s. After we had our phone call with Mike to go over music selections and day-of details, we felt so much more excited for the wedding day! And let me tell you, he delivered! He played music for all ages, and the dance floor was popping until the end. We truly wanted to have fun as a newly married couple but also wanted our guests to have a great time too, and he did just that and even added a few of his own personal touches to the day. My dad was also a huge Mike fan since both of their names are Mike, and that was a huge plus knowing my family was letting loose and enjoying the night as well-DJ Mike made sure of that! A huge thanks to Mike for making our wedding day go off without a hitch. Go book Mike right now if you want to have a fun and dress free day, you won’t regret it!!

Mike was exceptional at our reception! I (the groom) had an extensive "Do Not Play" list, and Mike worked around it and kept the dance floor packed all night! He also worked seamlessly with our photographer and caterer to ensure everything was executed smoothly and how we envisioned.

Although my wife and I live in Cincinnati, meeting with Mike whenever we were in Indy was never an issue, and he always made time for us. Additionally, Mike almost always responded to our numerous emails within an hour.

Hiring a great DJ for your reception should be either 1 or 1A on your priority list, and I would not hesitate hiring Mike's services. The DJ sets the tone for the night, and Mike will deliver what you want and how you want it. I know I was picky with certain things, but Mike handled everything professionally and politely, making our wedding reception evening perfect!!

PICK SOUND ADVICE FOR YOUR EVENT!!! I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS DJ! Finding a DJ was one of my tasks during our wedding planning, and I contacted at least 5-6 vendors to receive estimates and discuss services. Sound Advice set itself apart from the competition by a vast margin. I actually received 1-2 quotes that were lower than Sound Advice, but from attending many wedding receptions, I knew that the DJ truly makes or breaks the reception. From my first conversation with Mike, I learned: he was extremely professional; he has a serious passion for weddings and his craft; and most importantly, he truly wants your celebration to be the best day of your life. Sound Advice set itself apart in multiple ways. First, Mike acted as an event coordinator and ensured everything ran smoothly all night long. Second, Mike and I became Facebook friends and hours after the reception he had posted approximately 40 pictures of the wedding celebration. It's been two weeks since our wedding, and we have not yet seen any of the official pictures from our photographer. The 40 pictures Mike sent are our first pictures of the wedding, and we have enjoyed sharing them with our friends and guests. Third, Sound Advice provides an online planning tool that simplifies your reception planning. Aside from picking songs, you can establish timelines, provide notes to the DJ, and request special instructions for the toasts, cake cutting, etc. Mike prints out these notes and has them with him to ensure the event is tailored to your personal preferences. Lastly, Mike knows how to play to his audience. When the dancing began Mike played to the older crowd at first to ease into the party. Later on in the night, Mike really rocked the house with the current hits and favorites. Every guest I have spoken with since our wedding commented on the DJ. Everyone had an amazing night, and I truly believe it was because of Mike.

The dj was awesome. Everything flowed together, there was never a dull moment. Everyone had a blast and I would highly recommend Mike.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED Sounds Advice!! Mike was incredible and everything loved him! He is very professional about everything and makes the wedding day so stress free and enjoyable!! What I absolutely love about Mike is his excitement and love for his work. Everytime I talked to Mike he was thrilled to be a part of our wedding. He calls you the week of the wedding to go over everything with you to make sure your day runs smoothly! He goes over pronunciations with you so names are correctly pronounced which I believe makes such a huge difference to everyone!! His music selection was a hit!! I don't think there was ever a time that our dance floor was empty--he kept it going all night!! He makes the music enjoyable for everyone, including the older crowd. The part I would say was most special to me is the photographs that Mike takes through the night--It was wonderful to see some of our wedding night the next day in pictures Mike had captured through the evening!! It was absolutely perfect. I would highly reccommend Mike and Sounds Advice to any couple getting married--He really made our wedding day wonderful and perfect!

Mike is an amazing wedding vendor - the words “above and beyond” come to mind. Our reception was poorly managed with the facility managers completely MIA during the reception. Without missing a beat, Mike could see the concern in our face, and immediately started to address the problems ensuring our agenda remained on schedule, lights were dimmed, cake was cut etc. It really seemed to be his goal to make sure every aspect of our reception met our expectations.

As for the music – I did make specific song requests, but not enough to fill the entire reception. Yet without even requesting specific songs that I like, he was playing them. The second half of the reception were songs that I didn’t ask him to play but would have played if it was my ipod at a house party – he was uniquely attuned to the music my guests and I enjoyed. After the event, my guests commented on how much they liked the DJ: Specifically his music choices but also that he made the reception about me and my husband (he didn’t make himself front and center like some DJs might do).

Jen – his wife – was another great addition to his service. She was just as committed as Mike to making sure the event met our expectations. And she grabbed some really great candid photos of my husband and I with our guests.

The only thing I would have changed – was that I forgot to ask Mike if he took requests during our consultation. I later learned from friends (after the wedding) that he did. I probably would have shared that information with my family in case there was a specific song they wanted to hear - Hopefully this can just be a lesson learned for the next bride!

Thanks to Mike and Jen for making our event so much fun!

DJ Mike was absolutely phenomenal at our wedding reception, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! From the ceremony to the dance floor, he was the ultimate professional. His easy-to-use website made the entire selection process and event stress-free, allowing us to fully enjoy every moment without worry.

During the ceremony, DJ Mike ensured everything ran flawlessly, from the processional music to the vows, creating a beautiful atmosphere that was exactly what we had envisioned. His experience and attention to detail were evident throughout.

When it was time to hit the dance floor, DJ Mike truly shined. The music selection was spot on, keeping the party alive and the dance floor popping all night long. He seemed to genuinely care about our preferences and the vibe we wanted to create, which made the evening even more memorable.

I could not have asked for a better DJ. I truly believe the DJ will make or break your reception, and hands down, he made ours. He kept the night going, and when it came to the end of the night other guests paid to have Mike stay longer. So many of our friends and family commented on how AWESOME our DJ was. He was very professional, his setup was perfect, and I honestly have nothing negative to say. I would recommend him to anyone. Actually my mother-n-law said he will definitely do my sister-n-law's wedding whenever she gets married.

Look no further, Mike is THE BEST DJ IN INDY!!! I CANNOT speak highly enough about him - he is the only wedding vendor I didn't think twice about hiring! He is professional, efficient, and SO much fun. He kept people dancing that I didn't expect to see on the dance floor (my husband!?) and MANY of our guests came up to me to tell me how great our music was. Mike went above and beyond to make sure our ceremony and reception were perfect, and he made sure to run anything that wasn't planned by me (the bride) first. He also handled some minor parental interference VERY well. Mike genuinely cares about his clients and does whatever it takes to make sure their event runs smoothly. He even took the time to coordinate with other vendors so that I didn't have to worry about that on my wedding day. His amazing wife, Jennifer, accompanied him and took pictures that were posted the following day. They also made sure to take a video of an epic spontaneous interpretive dance that was the highlight of the night! At the end of the night, Mike gave me a CD he made with all of our ceremony and reception music from the processional to the last dance! I am a girl with a strong Type A personality who likes to be in control, but I was SO comfortable with Mike running the show. If you're looking for a reasonably priced DJ who is passionate about his job, his clients, and making sure your guests have a great time, YOU'VE FOUND HIM!

Mike and his wife Jennifer were absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond to make my wedding complete! Mike made sure we were on time to keep the evening flowing. For example before we made the toast mike had brought my husband and I both our drinks for our toast. Mike was Making sure we were completely satisfied!
During the wedding our photographer had to leave early for an emergency and Mikes wife, Jennifer, stepped in and began to take the rest of our photos!
I cannot express how amazing these souls are! They are here to help and to make everything run smooth on the big day!

WOW! That is the word that comes to mind when I think about the music at my wedding. I think it says a lot about how passionate of a hobby this is that he does this job part-time. He was very easy to work with before the wedding- very prompt with emails and helping with using his website. Our first song was not a very popular song and he was able to get it without any issues. He made himself available to do the music during the ceremony in addition to the reception. The equipment he brought was perfect for our needs, and the kids LOVED his "dancing lights." We had 17 kids under the age of 10 at our wedding, and he kept them on the dance floor until the last song! Everyone had a great time and kept asking how we found such a great DJ- they don't even know how affordable he is! On top of all of this, there is an additional bonus- he takes photos of the dance floor throughout the night (which allowed my photographer a few minutes to sit down and eat!) I would recommend him to anyone!

My husband and I kept going back and forth deciding between a band and DJ; however, when we talked on the phone with Mike - we knew that a DJ was the right choice for us! Mike's online event planning form made it so easy for us to plan out our entire reception! It was one of the only parts of the wedding planning process that was completely stress-free!! Mike was always available whenever we wanted to discuss details or had any questions and was always very accomodating and helpful. I would recommend this DJ to absolutely anyone - he kept all of our guests on the dancefloor all night long to the point where we actually had to call for an extra shuttle at the end of the night because no one wanted to take the earlier shuttles! He's awesome!

Mike did an amazing job! He had the dance floor packed the entire wedding! Mike is very compassionate about his job and it shows. He was very helpful throughout the planning stages of the wedding and was amazing on wedding night. He took charge and made sure we had nothing to worry about. His wife jen is also amazing. She is so sweet and very helpful. I couldnt of asked for a better dj i had many guest tell me how great the dj was. If your looking for someone to keep the party going mike is the man!

Do not get married, host a party, etc. without DJ Mike! He served as DJ at my cousin's wedding back in 2016 and was great. Prior to that, I had hired him to DJ our law school prom, and he crushed it. He was the only choice when Alex and I tied the knot. I cannot recommend him enough!

If you need a DJ, look no further. At brunch on Sunday morning after our wedding, our guest raved about the DJ! I think that is a perfect reflection of the amazing work that Mike does. Mike was always professional and helpful in planning to make sure the timing all worked out. He had a great selection of songs to keep EVERYONE, of all ages, out on the dance floor, the entire night! I wish we could go back and dance all night again because it was perfect! Thanks Mike!

Mike is amazing. Do not look any further just chose him. I planned from another state, didn't have a coordinator, and met him day of wedding. We mainly communicated by email and I made changes day of wedding and he was spiother on. Everything exceeded my expectations. Not to mention he's a really easy guy to talk to and good with guests. And he takes good photos:)

I was so impressed with Mike's professionalism! I really had my doubts if anyone would get up and dance, since it was a corporate event. Mike knew exactly what to play to get the party started. The dance floor was packed the entire evening. He's been at it for years and you can tell by his expertise. I would recommend him for any corporate event, birthday party, wedding etc...

If I could give Mike 1,000 stars I would! I knew of DJ Mike after he did my sister in laws wedding! He’s incredibly fun and knows all the right jams! He makes sure to play all your requested songs. The girls and I got down to so many Jonas Brother hits. My 1.5 year old even got her two favorite songs played (we don’t talk about Bruno had us all screaming the lyrics)

Wish we could get married again just so we could dance the night away with Sound Advice!

Spectacular Service! I contacted Mike Campbell as the mother of the bride. My daughter had many different time constraints keeping her from managing the needed details. She choose a venue that was about 2 hours away from Indianapolis and I was concerned about finding Dj's, Photographers, etc that would travel. I will admit, I am a pretty high strung person and that is before adding the stress of having a daughter who is graciously willing to trust my judgement. Mike Campbell absolutely helped me to sort through the dilemmas that I was uncertain of. He lead me through the process and became the role we needed him to be at the combined wedding and reception . He was the MC,DJ,and Coordinator. He provided needed equipment such as microphones, uplighting, website based prep for creating the wedding step by step for the bride and groom to work on as they had time, and coordinated with then wedding singers and Minister. He listens and gains an understanding of who his couple is to ensure the reception is a reflection of them. He ensured that no one missed all the important events such as the father /daughter dance, cake cutting etc. He does not allow there to be dead time or confusion for your guests! He LOVES his profession, and loves giving of himself to make everything perfect. He stays as long as needed in meetings and when he actually is at the reception. He is always quick to respond to a phone call or email. HE IS 100% OF WHAT YOU WILL READ IN HIS REVIEWS! His awesome wife took candid photos and they were the the first to post pictures! Take advantage of his ideas and experience. Our family and friends had a blast! They were so tired afterwards!!!

Mike is absolutely fantastic and one of the most passionate individuals I've come across throughout my wedding planning process. He is very detail oriented and goes above and beyond for his clients. I quite literally didn't leave the dancefloor a my wedding as he kept playing everything I loved. Guests loved him and so did my husband and I!

Mike was awesome! He did a great job for my sister's wedding and an awesome job at my own wedding. Contacting him was a piece of cake and he responded quickly any time we had questions! He helped us to set up the perfect soundtrack to an awesome day! At the reception he was on top of everything! He was also incredibly flexible and played any spur of the moment song we thought of the whole night. We literally couldn't have asked for a better Dj. Also, his website and app made setting up playlist (and do-not-playlists) super easy. I couldn't recommend him enough to anyone looking for a Dj. Thanks again for being so awesome! Hope to see you again the next time one of my family gets married!

Mike was excellent to work with and we highly recommend his services for anyone looking for a great wedding DJ. Planning beforehand was simple and convenient using online tools and Mike followed up with a quick phone consultation the week of the event to ensure every detail was taken care of. Everything ran perfectly the day of the event, and Mike was a big part of that - and the music selection couldn't have been any better; the dance floor was packed from the beginning to the end of the reception!

Amazing Wedding DJ! Still receiving compliments on how fun DJ Mike is!

We could not have had a better experience with DJ Mike! Not only does he play excellent music, but he also helped us rearrange our reception to be a lot more efficient for us and fun for the guests. He was super proactive and accommodating to any of our requests. DJ Mike designed mixes from all eras and genres so that we had guests of all ages dancing the entire night. We received so many compliments after the reception on how much guests enjoyed his music and energy. We will 100% recommend DJ Mike to any couple looking for reception entertainment!

I would, without a doubt, recommend Mike and Sound Advice to ANYONE. They were fantastic to work with, very responsive to questions, understood our vision for the day, and took everything off our shoulders so we could just enjoy our wedding together. His planning tools were also extremely helpful, letting us plan and provide direction for the music/ambiance at our own pace before the wedding. Obviously, they played amazing music to get EVERYONE, young and old, on the dance floor. Sean and I loved getting to know them!

Mike was incredible! The only vendor my husband wanted to be involved in selecting was our DJ, and we were both so happy we chose Mike! Since day one he impressed us with his professionalism, responsiveness and flexibility. I'm from Colombia, so a big dance party for my wedding was a most! Everyone had a blast! We keep hearing from all our guests that ours was the most fun wedding they have ever been to, and Mike played a huge part on this. All of my music requests were played, even Colombian music. Thank you so much Mike for keeping everyone on the dance floor all nigh long and even help us coordinate our sparkler sent off! We highly recommend Mike for any event!
