Best dj ever

Anthony and his team will be exactly what you want because he truly listens to you, understands what you’re looking for, and executes it better than you could have asked for. I did immense research on a dj for our wedding. I have been to countless weddings and the music and flow are what make or break the event. Anthony and his crew was professional and energetic from the first encounter. He took notes on everything we talked about at our initial meeting. His formatting and online system is very easy to use when choosing music and explaining the days timeline . Most importantly, everyone was on the dance floor the entire evening!Teddy who was my MC is the reason all of our friends and family are still saying it was the most fun wedding they’ve been to. I also added on the drums(Christian) and the sax(Alison) who made the wedding complete. There was a point during the wedding I was looking around and I was worried there wasn't enough dance floor because so many people were dancing. We are so grateful for making our day classy and fun!

They really made our wedding special!!!

From the start of the whole process, you guys were absolutely great. To be honest we had no idea what we were doing when we started planning our wedding. Thanks for the guidance and help along the way. Your staff was excellent, professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. We had a great time, and it did go by way too fast. I think your staff was perfect for our wedding and would be happy to recommend Sound Active Events to anyone. Our guests all said that you guys were amazing.

As a bride you want everything to go as amazing & as smooth as possible & want to work with vendors that take the day as serious as you do. A while back I went to a wedding & was introduced to Kevin bene who is one of your saxophonist. He is amazing. He caught my attention in a room packed with people. I then did everything in my power to have him at my wedding & you guys made it happen. I can't thank you enough as well as Kevin for making my vision come to life. He played the saxophone during the most important dances of my wedding along with my dj & it gave everyone chills. It was the perfect touch to a perfect day. He fit perfectly with the crowd and I couldn't have been more happier. Thank you again for being apart of our special day.

Best. DJ. Ever.

Anthony and Sound Active Events absolutely killed it at our wedding! Our venue had a massive dance floor, and he got all of our guests to fill it out all night long. Everyone loved him so much he had our guests chanting "one more song" to try and keep the party going. In fact, we are now 4 days after our wedding, and we still have guests calling to say how awesome Anthony was. From the booth to light set up, Anthony exceeded our expectations. He played all the music we wanted, and didn't stray outside of our guidelines. Speaking of guidelines, Anthony has a client portal he walks each of his clients through to create a totally customizable script so everyone is on the same page the night of their wedding. Songs (eras & genres), speeches, first dance, and how to handle guest requests are all planned out exactly how you want it. From our initial meeting until the end of the party, Anthony couldn't have been better to work with. I highly recommend him to DJ your wedding. You definitely will not regret it!

I am going to start my review by saying that Sound Active Events was awesome for my 4.28.18 wedding! Anthony and his crew really kept the party flowing and the dance floor was always full and alive. I can't thank you guys enough! He really listened to what we wanted and how we wanted our day to go. My guest had an amazing time and the photo booth was a huge hit at my wedding. Anthony provided me with all the pictures of the photo booth and our photo candid we had and my husband and I couldn't stop laughing looking through all those. From music, to lighting, to Co2 tanks blasters, and montage he had it all. Huge thank you to JBeats who was our percussionist that day. He really killed it on the drums. Anthony and his team created a spectacular reception experience for our wedding on August 27th, 2017. He had our guests dancing all night long, and truly understands how to create the party experience. The violin trio for my ceremony was a beautiful addition, and he made sure to accommodate all my special music requests (including providing fog effects for our unique light saber first dance!). He had some really creative ideas and his outstanding attention to detail kept our reception moving along smoothly - there was never a dull moment! Thanks to Anthony, our MC, and the violin trio for providing an exceptional experience for us and our guests!!

Anthony at Sound Active was the best wedding DJ we could have asked for. He kept the dance floor packed from the first entrance to the last song. He brought an awesome photo booth, a sax player, a singer and just absolutely killed it as a DJ. He made sure all the right songs were played at the right time, he brought great equipment, and knew how to get people to the dance floor. All of our friends said he was one of the best DJs they've ever heard. We've been to tons of weddings and he was the best we've seen. He was also a breeze to work with. He was super responsive to us, our coordinator, and the venue, gave us our photo booth pictures right away, and even checked in with us the day after. Sound Active is the way to go.

Anthony and his team were simply incredible! They were so knowledgeable about everything related to the flow of weddings. Their team left our wedding guests dancing until the end of the night. Even guests who don't normally dance were on the dance floor the whole time. They left us with so many incredible memories. I had questioned some of the timeline aspects of the wedding, when the ceremony and cocktail hour would start. Anthony was completely right about all of it! He knew exactly how the night would play off. Can't wait to see our videos and relive this excitement. Thank you sound active!

Awesome music

Anthony and Jason did an amazing job for our wedding. They did an excellent job keeping the dance floor packed and the music was excellent!! From the user friendly website to add details of the big day down to the very last song played, Anthony and his team made it all ABOUT ME! Throughout this process leading up to our wedding, Anthony made sure that every detail was EXACTLY the way I wanted it. His dedication to making his clients happy is truly amazing. Sound Active Events!

My husband and I used Sound Active Events for our wedding in June. They were the HIGHLIGHT of our wedding! Prior to our wedding, my husband and I sat down with Anthony, owner of Sound Active Events, to discuss the vibe of our wedding and how all we really wanted was everyone dancing all night long. Anthony always answered emails and text messages promptly and not only was he super reliable, but he made our vision come to life. Everyone (EVERYONE!) danced all night long!! We had such an incredible mix of music that had every single person (21-80yrs old) in the room up on the dance floor. Everybody was raving about the music, weeks after our wedding. In our package, we had the amazing photo booth (with the best props ever!), up-lighting, a saxophone player (so good), candid photographer, and TV screens that displayed photos from the candid photographer from throughout the night. We even got to take the photos home that night!! Hiring Sound Active Events for our wedding was the best decision we made in our planning process. You won’t be disappointed if you hire this amazing team!!

So much fun

I can’t give enough rave reviews about Anthony and his team. Johnny (our DJ) and Gianluca (our MC) were FABULOUS. They really knew how to work the crowd and had hilarious add-ins during speeches that just made everything so much more fun. I wish I could get married all over again just to have them DJ again!

My now wife and I were very happy with Anthony and his crew. Great music selection, taking of requests, the Horah, and the volume was appropriate for dancing and lower for dinner and everything was perfect. Anthony was easy to deal with and on the ball for our meetings with him. He is punctual and up front about costs and what we needed to do for the ceremony, introductions, lighting, a photo slideshow, etc. etc. etc.! We loved the photo booth, too. We would happily work with them again!

Words cannot describe how incredibly happy we are with Anthony, Shortkutz and the rest of the Sound Active team! Anthony was the DJ at my sisters wedding five years ago and was even better for my wedding. They made our day so much fun. They catered to every age group at our wedding and really got the party going and KEPT going for hours! Everyone was having a blast that we ended up extending the night for two hours. The calls and texts that we have received in only two days since our wedding are enormous and our guests are raving about the party. I've heard from other brides that "you'll notice the things that didn't go the way they should've" NOPE!! Not with Anthony and his team. Everything was beyond perfect and seamless. We definitely made the best decision in choosing Sound Active. Adding the percussionist (Philip) and sax player (Kevin) gave our party a band like feel in addition to the DJ and MC. I can't say that one part was better than another but we did get the Co2 blaster which my (husband) got to spray while I was playing the drums and it was awesome!! The pictures and videos from that part of the night looked like a dance club (later in the night of course) and we were center stage amongst our guests. When we got engaged the first thing we booked was our DJ and that was obviously Sound Active Events. Music was one of the most important things when planning our wedding because both mine and my husbands family love to dance. Choosing Sound Active Events was without a doubt the easiest choice to make during the planning of our wedding. They are the best in the DJ's in the business... I am still getting compliments on how our wedding was a blast! And that is of course because we picked the right DJ. My wedding was amazing! I cannot say enough about how fantastic they were. Anthony made us feel so special and took the time to listen to our concerns/wants and explained everything to us. Everything was exactly as promised. The music was amazing and our dance floor was packed all night! Our guests commented that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. I had a wide variety of guests, from pre-teens all the way to elderly in their 80s/90s. Anthony found a way to provide a variety of music to satisfy all guests and keep the crowd lively. The lights and TV screens were a great touch. My candid pictures came out amazing and really captured the event! I would recommend Sound Active Events for any party looking for entertainment, especially a wedding. You will not be disappointed.

We definitely made the right decision in choosing Sound Active Events for our 05-27-2017 wedding.
From the preparation to the last minute Anthony was always there for us to answer any question and guide us through his website to prepare for our event. He even found the Hungarian songs I sent him in the last minute.
The entire day into the night ran smooth. Anthony came prepared, organized, and ready to party. Not one detail was left out and every moment streamed flawlessly into the next.
Everyone has been telling us how much of a great time they had, especially with the Hungarian music addition.

Great Music, Great MC, Great Everything!

Anthony made our wedding day so fun and so special. We were initially overwhelmed by the logistics of wedding planning, but Anthony demystified the whole process from the start. He listened carefully to what we wanted and provided suggestions when we needed them. I was completely confident in his abilities by the time the day rolled around, and with good reason – he crushed it on our wedding day! He chose great music, and he’s also an amazing MC, which made the whole thing even better. His experience really shows. He was also so upbeat and positive on the day, which goes a long way when you’re dealing with the inevitable stress of a wedding. Entertaining!

Sound Active Events was the best part of our wedding! My husband and I got married during this crazy time and Anthony and his crew made it that much better! Anthony the MC, Johnny the DJ and Stefano from the photo boot, kept the party going! They played every song we requested from a variety of different genres. Anthony checked in with us during the entire planning process and made sure we went over every last detail before the big day. on our wedding day, every last detail we envisioned, came to life because of them! They were super professional the entire time. Although we could not dance with our guests the way we imagined because of COVID, we still had a great time rocking out to all the music. I highly recommend sound active events for any occasion. They truly made our wedding day all the more special! We are so happy we did not postpone!

Anthony was the DJ at my daughter's wedding and I was extremely pleased with how he conducted himself at the wedding. Perfection

I hosted the party. The DJ (Anthony) was amazing. He was thoughtful and fun. He really got the party going and people involved. The flow of music was incredible to make every generation happy and want to join in the party. I wish I could give more then 5 stars. The DJ was like a member of the family that day. This company went above and beyond to provide a perfect flow of the event. There is no other entertainment company that provides such a high quality of entertainment for such a fair price. Trust me on this, they are best!!!!!!! Let me start off by saying that this review is way overdue! Anthony and his team were phenomenal. Their energy alone made our night picture-perfect. Going above and beyond is understatement for this crew, “flawless” is the word I would use when describing Sound Active Events.

Throughout our planning, Anthony promptly answered any questions, clearly communicated what he needed from us, and was simply a great guy to work with. On our wedding day, the team was prepared, organized, and ready to party. Anthony seamlessly facilitated transitions between to the ceremony, cocktail, dinner, and dancing locations as well as the toasts. Anthony made this part of our wedding planning so effortless from the first day we met with him. He and his team kept us dancing all night long, we literally didn't sit down once! Sound Active Events did such a terrific job for our reception! From start to finish! I met with Anthony when we started planning. He was so organized and prepared. He listened to what I had in mind, made terrific suggestions, and offered his opinion based on experience which made our reception great! Most importantly, he let us know that he and his group could handle anything and that we could rest easily knowing our event was in their hands. DJ Shortkutz and the MC were so great! Our dance floor was packed the entire evening -- with everyone from the club party crowd to grandparents! Plus, they were able to roll with the flow to make everything go well, even when someone showed up for the bridal party announcement as we were walking in and had just told them they weren't coming! They were perfect! We took their advice on some events like the anniversary dance -- listening to them brought tears to our families eyes! The lighting was perfect. We also got the photo booth. So many of our guests told us how much they loved our photo booth and how much better it was than others! You're in good hands with this amazing group.

I recently celebrated my wedding on 10/20/17 and chose Sound Active Event for the entertainment. I have to say it was an EXCELLENT choice! I am throughly satisfied with the service Anthony and his team provided. Not only did I book DJ service but was able to have their percussionist, Joel (Jbeats) accompany the DJ. My guest are still commenting on how great the entertainment was. Our music choices were; latin, pop, and 80s/90s and Anthony was able to accommodate our needs and keep everyone on the dance floor. I recommend SAE for any event.

Dj Mike, our Emcee John and our Saxophone player Matt made our wedding reception an epic event! They were all very professional and easy to work with. I met them the first time at the event and instantly felt at ease and knew that they will do an awesome job and they did! They kept us on track/schedule and made everything flow seamlessly. I got a lot of guests who came up to me complimenting our music and emcee and everybody had a blast! Anthony who we coordinated with prior to the event was also very responsive and did a good job relaying our vision to the rest of the team. Perfection!

Anthony & Sound Active Events definitely knows how to party! From the first time we met with Anthony, we knew our wedding was going to be exactly what we wanted! We wanted a more non-traditional style wedding where it was more like a party-feel - no dances, no stopping and up/down all the time - and he listened and did just that! It was exactly what we asked for and everyone is still saying that they loved our DJ and loved the percussionist (yes, we had a drummer - and yes, he was f*ckn awesome!). We could not have asked for better entertainment at our wedding on 9/2/17. From the moment we met Anthony Costello at his office we could tell he not only had the experience we were looking for but genuinely cared for his clients.

Anthony is a true professional and removes the stress of choosing one of the most important (if not THE most important) vendors for your wedding right away. He is extremely organized and easily accessible answering any question that came up along the way offering valuable suggestions.

The best!

We knew that we were going to book Anthony from the first meeting we had with him. He’s very friendly and knows what it takes to make your wedding the best event ever. He’s very attentive and responds to your questions and concerns in a very timely manner. Anthony also used a website to track EVERYTHING, so planning is super easy ( order of ceremony/reception intros, song requests, keeping track of payments, genre preferences, special instructions, etc...). On the day of the wedding, everything went perfectly. We had a harpist at our ceremony who played gorgeous music as people arrived, a little during the ceremony, and as our guests departed. During our reception, Anthony and his crew really knew how to read the room and play the music that will keep the crowd entertained and on the dance floor all night, even eliminating certain elements of the timeline to make more time for dancing ( with our permission, of course). We had a mixed race/ethnicity wedding (Latino, Afro-Caribbean, Italian) and the DJ [Shortkut (sp?)] played a variety of music that spoke to everyone and it was amazing. We also had a live percussionist play along with the DJ, and towards the end of the night he came out on the dance floor and let some guest play his drums. We had a phenomenal time, and our guest gave us so many compliments to us about the music. We also got a photo booth which saved our photos on a usb slap bracelet, which was really cool. I recommend Sound Active Events to everyone I talk to that are in the wedding planning process because we were so happy with how everything turned out. Thanks again for everything! :)

If I could give Sound Active Events 6 STARS, I would. Anthony gave my fiancé and I undivided attention during our meetings. He went over every detail about our special day to make sure it went smoothly. Sound Active Events was a one stop shop for me. Anthony provided the DJ, MC, 4 flat screen TVs, a photo booth, a singer, percussionist, saxophone player, my enhanced lighting, a monogram with our initials and even a candid photographer to take pictures all night that streamed on the TVs. My guests raved about how exceptional the music was and did not sit down all night. Everyone was dancing and have the best time. It was truly one of the most incredible nights of my life.

EXTRAORDINARY...Sound Active Events deserves more then a 5 Star rating. They did an OUTSTANDING job at our wedding. Anthony and his crew were super professional and efficient in every way. Between Anthony’s energetic MCing skills and DJ Shortkutz mix of beats, the knew how to keep a constant vibe all night. Shotkutz just killed it with the music...bringing us back to some great times in our lives. We had an absolute blast on the dance floor all night long.

Anthony was amazing to work with! He was available through out the entire process with questions and I could always count on him to respond immediately. He went above and beyond the day of to make sure everything was running just the way my husband and I had imagined and he even worked with me the day of to surprise my husband during the wedding with the notre dame song since he was missing the game! Wedding perfection!

We booked Sound Active based on the recommendation of our good friends/photographer and we are so happy we did! We had Anthony plus a DJ & Saxophone player and everyone still tells us how much they loved them and the music, (including our 3 year old ring bearer that tore up the dance floor and couldn’t get enough of the Sax haha). Everyone was on the dance floor all night having a blast. We also had the cloud nine for our first dance and the photos came out magical. Lastly, we gave Anthony a USB of a ton of photos on it. He suggested we put as many photos as we could of people that would be there and I’m telling you I’m sooo happy we did because to see our friends and families reactions catching glimpses of golden memories plus their genuine surprise that they were featured on them was a beautiful thing. Sound Active Events deejayed my wedding in 2008 and it was a day I will never forget! Sound Active Events were so accommodating and did everything I asked them to do. Anthony is an unbelievable DJ! He did my wedding and couldn't have been more helpful! He is very attentive and listens to what you envision your wedding to look like and makes sure that dream becomes reality. Amazing Entertainment

Sound Active was everything we hoped for. From the very first meeting we knew Anthony was going to deliver exactly what we wanted, at reasonable price and in a professional way.

The customizations available to us were really what set these guys apart. We were able to add a photo booth (worth it), the fog machine for the first dance, custom lighting and visual effects... but what really stole the show was the live performers.

We had a percussionist and a saxophonist accompany the DJ and they made the wedding. The energy and excitement the drummer brought to the dance floor was incredible. The sax man added elegance to the dining time and really punctuated the music in a way we had never experienced.

Everything is important when planning a wedding but if you really want it to be great, you're gonna need great entertainment and these guys deliver. We cannot recommend them and the multitude of services and options they provide enough. If we have another event where music is involved, its Sound Active Events all the way.

One of the best!

Anthony and his team was phenomenal! He definitely can read the crowd and figure out what songs to play and what not to play. We never had an empty floor besides the first dance, mother/son dance, father/daughter dance and when dinner was served! Throughout the wedding planning process, the online portal Anthony has with his clients is absolutely amazing! Definitely keeps you on top of things and allowed us to listen to some songs before choosing the ones he did! We chose his photobooth and people absolutely loved it and the props were amazing! If you are looking for someone to book, Anthony is the guy!

The absolute best

I already knew DJ Shortkutz was the best in NY. But what the entire team brought to the table was top notch. Very professional. Very accommodating. Anthony was very patient with our requests. The MC was fantastic and the drummer was on point. Everyone danced all night long, and that’s what you want at a wedding. After I already booked DJ Shortkutz for my wedding, apparently someone tried to book him for he same date. They actually offered to pay for my wedding if I would give up DJ Shortkutz for their daughter’s sweet 16. I said no. Now after the wedding, I am very glad I said no. Sound Active Events is the right choice for any of your events. You won’t regret it

Most brides, like myself, want to plan the most "perfect" wedding. The only problem is that none of us have ever done this before! One of my biggest concerns was, "How do you make sure everyone has fun and dances all night?" Let me help the other brides out. The answer is -- hire Anthony! Anthony is THE BEST in the business. From start to finish, he was awesome and so easy to work with. He is professional, honest, and fun. He truly cared about us and our wedding. Instead of trying to squeeze money out of us, he was honest and told us what we really did and didn’t need. He made the planning process such a breeze! Weddings are stressful enough, so it's a relief when at least one thing is easy! The online questionnaire kept us organized and let us fill/pick things out whenever we thought of them. The music, the dj set up, the photobooth - everything was PERFECT. Anthony & his guys kept everyone on the dance floor all night; they were the ones who truly made our wedding night a night to remember. We received tons of compliments on how great the entertainment was! When the wedding was over, Anthony handed us a USB in the form of the wristband. Last minute my Fiancé and I decided to hire a different DJ for our wedding, only a few weeks out! It was such a terrifying jump to take, but I’m SO glad we did! From the moment we emailed Anthony at Sound Active events, I knew we made the right choice. He was beyond helpful throughout the process and I never doubted anything for our Big Day! Anthony was the dj at our wedding in 2011. He did an amazing job. He had the crowd dancing all night. Everyone said they had a blast. It's so obvious that music and djing are his passion. An amazing company!!!

Soundactiveevents is an amazing company!!! Not only fantastic music that kept us on the floor all night long dancing. When I called Anthony at the last minute when my DJ fell through he worked with us every step of the way to get us what we wanted. He made the wedding process so much easier and fun! Sound Active is amazing!

We would highly recommend Anthony and his team! When you book with Sound Active you are provided a website log in to fill out forms and questionnaires regarding the event. Although it seems a bit tedious, it is a super organized way for the team to get all the info they need to make sure the night goes off without a hitch. You can fill in bridal party info, choose what songs you do/don't to hear and even get suggestions for songs for different events throughout the night (such as suggestions for the cake cutting, etc.). What's even better is that you can listen to snippets of the songs right from the client.

The day of, Anthony and his team did a great job. We only gave a few suggestions as to what songs we wanted to hear and what kind of music we liked and Anthony did a masterful job of keeping the party going. We have been to weddings where no one was on the dance floor, but our wedding was certainly not one of them. Other than breaks for dinner and speeches, there was always a packed dance floor with people having a great time. We would recommend including the TVs in your package and providing a photo montage because our guests had a great time reminiscing throughout the night whenever a picture of them would come up. The GOBO was also a nice touch.

Do yourself a favor and book Sound Active Events for your wedding. You won't regret it.

Being in the wedding industry myself, I knew I needed to hire someone that would do an amazing job and in meeting Anthony that was exactly the feeling I had . I purchased his lighting services to capture the ambience that we were looking for for our farm wedding and his photo booth was a huge hit! I had originally booked a different DJ, who I was not too excited about. I met Anthony at a bridal show, and after my husband & I spent time with him, I cancelled with the first guy. I absolutely do not regret my decision. Anthony is so patient and attentive, he absolutely was the best choice I could have made. He was always available by text, phone, & email. Any last minute change I made he went with. He has a great online system where you can pick which songs you like, and a huge database filled with different songs to listen to. We pretty much let Anthony & the DJ pick the music to play during the reception & the music was everything we would have picked anyway. He had everyone up and dancing the whole night. He brought along an amazing crew with him, his singer was fantastic, the DJ was phenomenal, and his photographer was amazing. He really listened to everything we asked him. The photo booth he brought with him was a huge hit, and they displayed pictures from my photographer & the photo booth, & the photographer he brought the whole night. He was always asking us how we were doing, and if he could do anything for us. I am so thankful I happened to meet him. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Anthony & his crew. When we began researching DJ's for our wedding, I quickly came across Sound Active Events and inquired. Anthony responded almost immediately (most likely working from home as it was a blizzard outside) From his first contact through to the last song at our reception, Anthony was energetic, attentive and flexible. He listened to all our questions and ideas and gave honest feedback. The client portal on SAE website made music planning a BREEZE. We were able to manage our song selections, create a do not play list and find suggestions when we were indecisive. The client portal was specific and detailed. When it came down to the final days before the wedding, Anthony called us and we talked through every single detail to ensure a seamless reception. When our wedding day arrived, the SAE crew did an amazing job! Our guests were up and dancing all night long! The photo booth had awesome and original props. We had 2 personally designed GoBo images since we couldn't decide on just one. Matt our sax player did a great job moving around the reception adding a touch of live music. At the end of the night, I walked out of Whitby Castle with my own USB bracelet full of candid photos capturing the highlights of our wedding. SAE is the complete package! If I need a DJ again, SAE is the only company I'd call!

SAE made our wedding truly unforgettable, and sensational. The pre-wedding meetings gave me the confidence to know that we were in great hands and that SAE knew exactly what we wanted. The ease of use of the web site made it simple and effortless for us to detail and personalize our event. Everyone danced all evening, the lights and music, combined with sound of the live sax and percussion made it a one of a kind event. When Steve and I got engaged, we knew who to call: Anthony with Sound Active Events. Anthony has been DJing for parties since as long as I've known him. He DJ'd my Sweet 16! When I called Anthony, I was hit with a "I'm booked already for you date...but I have an amazing team." He set us up with Joey to DJ our wedding and he was AMAZING, as promised. The dance floor was never empty. We also booked a percussionist through Sound Active Events who complimented our DJ and provided an interactive live aspect to our entertainment that everyone loved.
The planning process was very simple and easy. We were set up with an online system that let us keep track of all our individualized wedding details. We were able to edit our music choices and reception order easily without having to call Anthony everytime. As we got closer to the wedding date, Steve and I decided we were going be introduced to the reception and go immediately into our first dance. This meant that Anthony had to create a custom looped version of our first dance song and he worked with us to get the timing down pat.
Final verdict: The entertainment was perfect and our experience with Sound Active Events was flawless. I would recommend to anyone!

I definitely pushed him outside his comfort level and asked him to play some Bollywood music for my indian wedding, but he stepped up to the challenge and mixed it in seamlessly. He was so in tune with the crowd. Almost 2 years later, my guests are still raving about how great he was. When was the last time you went to a wedding and the DJ was memorable for being so awesome. I highly recommend him!

There are a lot of companies out there that can have the right equipment and say the right things, but what sets the team at Sound Active Events a part is that they deliver on 100% of the things they say they can deliver on. They are kind, knowledgeable, and hard working from beginning to end. Every one of my guests said DJ Shortkutz was the best DJ they've ever heard at a wedding. He had every one out of their seats from the young to the more seasoned crowd. My guests also loved the photo booth and it was amazing to see all the pictures at the end of the night. I'd work with Anthony and his team again for any party that I throw in the future and I'd recommend them to any of my friends that need a DJ, Photobooth, Lighting, etc...... their prices are fair, if anything for the amount of work that they put in for your wedding it almost feels like you don't pay them enough. They are just that good. They are also just really great people who truly care about making your day a special one. If you're looking for a company that will put in the hard work and consideration for your special day then this is definitely the company you should be getting in contact with immediately.

Amazing! Seriously so so happy with the music and the lighting, everyone that we talked to after our wedding said how good the music was. Halfway through the reception my husband and I were like omg the dance floor is awesome, it's non stop. Great to work with, personalized attention and never rushed. Can't wait for the next event, you guys were amazing.

Dj Anthony Costello provided the entertainment for our wedding. Everyone was asking me where I found him and wanted to use him for their weddings. He was amazing. The music was always perfect, when you wanted to dance or when it was time to slow it down. Anthony never disappointed. He was easy to work with, listening to what we wanted and even had a drum set for our guests to play around with during some of the songs. Today this day (almost 4 years later) people still talk about how great our DJ was. Thanks Anthony!!

Anthony is the best DJ. I went to a wedding he played at 6 years ago and knew from that night that I would have to have him as my DJ when I got married. Any wedding that he DJs for is sure to be a fun, lively, dance party. My wedding guests are still raving about the wide range of music that he played. Many people have said they never left the dance floor the whole night. Not only are his entertaining skills top notch but his customer service is impeccable. He responds to calls and emails quickly. He really takes into consideration what the bride and groom want to hear played throughout the night. Even my wedding planner from our venue couldn't say enough kind words about Anthony!

Anthony and Joey made my wedding night what it was...INCREDIBLE!!! My friends and family still can't stop talking about how much they enjoyed the music..they played a little bit of every genre I asked them for. What I really liked was how organized they were. They updated me on everything my husband and I had to do throughout the night, and they did everything at our own pace. They were full of energy and enthusiasm and constantly got the guests on the dance floor, which is exactly what we wanted! I hope we have another party in the future where we can hire them again. August Wedding

We were so happy with our choice to work with DJ Anthony at Sound Active Events! He was extremely responsive leading up to the wedding. We also used them for our photo booth. Our wedding ceremony and reception went extremely smoothly. Our guests keep telling us how fantastic our DJ was, and we couldn't agree more! He kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night!

My husband Joe and I were very happy with the MC and DJ services provided to us by Anthony and his team at Sound Active Events.

Anthony was great to work with leading up to our event. He was friendly and helpful when walking through the options we had for entertainment, and has a great online form that we used to manage our music choices and bridal party info in order to coordinate everything smoothly. Anthony was very patient with us and our specific music choices. He worked with the music style we gave him, downloading specific songs he didn’t already have and adding his expertise to produce the perfect soundtrack for our event. He honored our do-not-play list requests and did an outstanding job choosing additional music to fit the vibe of the event in the moment, keeping the dance floor packed.

His MC skills were top-notch, with announcements made clearly and concisely. He played music for our ceremony at the end, which seamlessly transitioned from the live music we had during the ceremony to a recording for the recessional.

Our venue was indoor/outdoor with a small area inside for his DJ equipment, but Anthony made it work perfectly - providing music outside for the ceremony and inside for the reception, including lighting and a gobo design on the ceiling with our names and wedding date.

The highlight of the evening was after the last song, he surprised us with another last song that fit our musical style perfectly and ended the wedding with our family and friends rocking out on the dance floor, jumping and singing along with us. It was the perfect ending to what our family and friends have told us was one of the best and most fun weddings they had ever been to.

Sound Active was amazing at our wedding September 2017, we had over 200 people and they had almost everyone dancing the entire night! Amazing music, especially the live saxophonist- she got in the crowd and wowed everyone! The photo booth was great as well, and we loved getting an album of all the photos afterwards. We would definitely recommend !!

Where do I begin? Sound Active Events was one of the BEST vendors we had at our wedding. Their packages are tailored to you and so you get to chose what it is you really want. I have to say I love the layout of the online event planning account because it outlines every step of your wedding from your ceremony to end of your reception. If you do not have a wedding planner this is the place to go! I did not have a planner and they made everything come together so beautifully. He had my wedding party line up for the reception in the correct order, knew everyone by name, it just all came together beautifully.
I recommend you get the percussionist like we did. It's unique. I certainly enjoyed and they even had me play with them! I felt like a star and had our guests astonished. It also made for a great picture and video. You could see the joy on my face. The workers at the venue said it was the best wedding they have ever seen so far even they were having a good time. And things work out great when everyone is having a grand time.
What stood out the most for me was that he treated us like family. As the bride there will be times your guests will take you away for pictures or well wishes and it will sometimes get overwhelming when you can't say no and the program must go on. Anthony rescued me a number of times. Also we did not have first dance music until the evening before the wedding and we ended up choosing 3 different songs cut and pasted at different points. Anthony called me and sat with me on the phone while we figured out where to stop and start each song so it could be one seamless song!!! He would fix and play back so I could hear exactly where I wanted to start and end. He sent us the edited song so we could practice within an hour! If this isn't the best service I don't know what is.

My husband and I found Anthony Costello (Sound Active Events) by pure accident but we are thrilled that that is how the universe intended it to be. From the moment we met Anthony, we felt an immediate sense of familiarity. Anthony wanted nothing more than to give us a memorable wedding and that was exactly what he delivered! From talking me out of a possible melt down on my wedding day, to checking in on us from time to time throughout the wedding night, Anthony and his partner were amazing to work with. Our wedding was bumping from the second we walked into to our reception to the last minute of the last song. Anthony even helped us with our surprise first dance as husband and wife, to Edwin's surprise dance for me with his groomsmen. Sound Active Events truly understands weddings and how to make them as memorable as possible. After so much time planning our wedding, all we wanted was a perfect night and that is exactly what we got. Edwin and I will always look for Anthony's services for any of our future needs. If you're looking for a full service DJ for any event, stop looking and contact Sound Active Events! Anthony and his team were fantastic and helped make my dream wedding come true. I originally thought I wanted a band, but when I saw SAE offered live vocalists and sax player, I was sold. We got endless compliments about the sax player and vocalist as well as the music. The dance floor was absolutely packed all night by our guests of all ages, from 9 to 70. Anthony was a true master of ceremonies and coordinated all events during the reception seamlessly.

We also used SAE for our ceremony music, cocktail hour music, photo booth, and candid photos. Everything was perfect. The ceremony music was exactly as planned. We picked a few songs that were only available on YouTube, and they were played perfectly. SAE brought awesome props for the photo booth, and the pictures came out amazing with our custom back drop. We were given the digital pictures of both the candid shots and the photo both right after the reception ended; I loved being able to share them on Facebook the next day.

The planning process was also seamless. Anthony was super responsive to any questions or requests along the way. The online questionnaire form helped keep us organized and provide all of the important information. Thank you SAE for rocking our wedding!

We are so happy we worked with Anthony and Sound Active! It was so important to me that we had friends and family out on the dance floor having a good time with us and everyone really did! Between a DJ who played an awesome mix of music, Anthony as a fun, upbeat MC, and a live drummer who kept everyone entertained, we couldn't have asked for a better group to bring our vision to life. Anthony even did our ceremony music just as we wanted. Plus I loved how organized the meetings and online request system were leading up to the wedding day. Beyond our expectations!

You need to hire DJ Costello and his team! We used him and his team for our wedding at the Crabtree's Kittle House in July of this year and it was a blast! We had a combination of DJ, live singer and live drummer and it made such an energizing atmosphere. The party was amazing, the announcements were seamless. We used him and his team for ceremony music, MC, reception music, photo booth. They were beyond helpful and they are the epitome of professionals. They know how to get a party started and keep it going! Also they are so fun and Anthony wants to give the bride and groom ideas, when you first meet with him he has VR glasses so you see what it's like to hire him and his team, what you can include in your package and what it would feel like the day of your wedding. As a bride I never dreamed of getting behind a drum set with a drummer as my guests partied along and now it's one of my most memorable moments. They know how to throw a good party and they really care, I tell anyone who asks about our entertainment to call Anthony, we hope to use him and his team again!

This is going to be long because everything is worth talking about - Anthony is very easy to work with - quick to answer emails/phone calls, and his login system where you can add all the ceremony/reception song info, request songs, and create a no play list is GREAT. For the ceremony, we got the harpist, who I just adored. She was so nice, and helpful in choosing songs, plus I randomly found a song on the internet I thought sounded cool, and she offered to learn how to play it for the wedding! IT turned out it was this Icelandic pop song (Hoppipola by Sigur Ros), and I couldn't believe she was not only able to find the sheet music for it, but willing to learn it (I ended up choosing normal classical music, but I know she would have done an amazing job with anything). She played beautifully and all my guests commented on how great she is. Shes' perfect if you're looking for something different than the standard string quartet. For the reception, we made last minute changes to the order of people, and Anthony handled it perfectly, acting like it was totally NBD. PLUS, my maid of honor had this crazy song/dance for her speech and the DJ somehow managed to perfectly sync the song to her lyrics - raising the volume for the chorus parts, bringing it back down and using just the music for the rest. I have no idea how they coordinated it so perfectly - but I guess they're just THAT good! And the photo booth - such a HUGE hit. My mother was ery skeptical of the whole idea but I pushed for it, and early in the night, I see her and her whole family holding props and taking crazy pictures. She LOVED it (as did all the guests!) I'm so happy to have all those pictures. Finally, of course, everyone was dancing all night - loving the saxophone player and the singer we added on. They did a great job of mixing in oldies with top 40's, sticking to my no rap stipulation, and just generally making it an awesome night. I'd recommend them to anyone!

Beyond my expectations! Very happy!

My wedding was last week, June 8, 2019 and the phone calls and texts are still coming in from friends and family to say what a wedding!! We couldn’t ask for a better night! Perfect!
From the beginning, I worked closely with Anthony.. He was very responsive with phone calls and follow up emails.. He answered all questions and concerns of mine.. He helped lessen the stress with his knowledge and experience..
MC Nyche was beyond a perfect fit for our guests.. It was very important to us we had a bilingual MC and he delivered! His vibe and energy was effortless and had everyone one their feet! A contagious smile with amazing energy!
The photographer was an added bonus! He captured such amazing moments and memories! I’m so happy we decided to get the photographer! Our guests loved the pictures displayed throughout the night on the screens..
The drummer J Beats absolutely blew the crowd and myself away! Another added bonus to the night! Great performance!
The DJ, DJ Shortkutz simply unbelievable! He had the dance floor packed all night. All different types of music was blended smoothly! Everything was perfect from cocktail hour to the final set!
