Soulone was very easy and enjoyable to work with. They even provided a mic for the officiant, speakers, and Dance floor lights. Guests were able to hear everything the offiant said despite our ceremony being held on the beach. The guitarist was willing to learn a specific song to play for the Processional and the dj did a good job keeping people entertained on the dance floor while making sure to play all of our song requests. The guitar made the ceremony and dinner hour feel special and our guests really enjoyed this aspect of the wedding. It was clear Soulone had done the beach house wedding setup a number of times and really knew what they were doing. They are really nice guys, talented musicians, and it's clear they love what they do. They will truly help make your wedding day special.

Brent really went above and beyond to make our wedding day special! He learned a new song and played it perfectly, and also took up the ukulele again so my dream of walking down the aisle to "Over the Rainbow" came true. I can't recommend him highly enough!

Steven's instincts were top notch. He was able to accept changes on the fly and produce immediate professional results. We needed a certain kind of music played at different events and he took the time, he did his homework to find this music on his own time. It's called caring. Summer Pool Deck Party
We wanted to host a special event for our friends and neighbors here in Southern Shores. We heard “SOULone” at the Tap Shack last summer (2024) and then again at the Avalon Pier. We knew right then- they were ‘the band’ to have!
Brent was very flexible to work with- they had to move an existing booking to accommodate us! Awesome lead singer in Stuart Marshall- pride of Lynchburg, VA.
The music selection is also well thought. They are a tight group of musicians and will “make” your event!

From ceremony and cocktail hour to the reception everything was amazing! Bret and his team were all so amazing with everything! Our ceremony was in a different location than the reception and they were able to accommodate both set ups! They also had mics for our officiant and on the groom! Which was very helpful considering our ceremony was outside!
Bret is very organized and has a great outline/form to fill out before that covers all the details!
Also, our reception was an AMAZING dance party (just what we wanted) and we owe that to Bret for the DJ skills! Everyone was on the dance floor, from 13 to 87! HIGHLY recommend SOULONE!!!!!

SOULone Wedding - 12/14/24
I decided to let my now husband decide on music for our wedding and he was really interested in the idea of live music. We saw that this band was playing at a place in town while we were visiting that was also featured in a few of the local bridal magazines we got in town so we went to see them. They were fun and lively and we decided to give them a call. The lead of the band, Brent, worked with us on every detail - even agreeing to learn a Taylor Swift song to play as I walked down the aisle. These guys go above and beyond and keep the party going. I gave them a list of song suggestions that our guests had given us on our RSVPs for the times that the DJ would be playing music and I told them they were just suggestions but they were able to fill them in at appropriate times during the night. Every time I heard one I was like oh that's cool that so and so had that song requested. I really enjoyed working with this band/DJ. I highly recommend them. They knew how to keep the party going and the right time to play different songs. It was a great night overall.

Great choice for our wedding
Great experience with SOULone for our wedding. We had acoustic guitar for the ceremony, solo guitar for cocktail hour and DJ for the remainder of the evening. Brent provided excellent music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed the songs. Steven was a fun DJ who read the group well to keep the energy up. We are very pleased with the service we received and would highly recommend SOULone for a wedding or other event. Brent was very helpful in suggesting other vendors as well which is priceless when you are planning a destination wedding.

Corolla Wedding Experience
We were able to meet SOULone at the wedding expo in 2023 and see both the DJ and the band. We're so happy we decided to book them for our wedding this past week at our rental home in Corolla. We were able to have a mixture of guitar and DJ which made our night that much more special. Attendees loved the music choices and it really kept the night flowing! OBX Family Re-Union
We hired SOUL one to provide entertainment for our family's OBX reunion week, and we were thrilled with their performance. SOULone was a dream to work with. Brent was highly responsive, and very helpful in addressing all our questions. He was incredible during his set playing incredible music while our guests arrived, and during the cocktail hour. All our guest were raving about his set! Steven was a great DJ and MC as well! He controlled the crowd by building the energy up quickly in the room and then kept it high ALL NIGHT LONG which is exactly what we wanted! Welcome party turned CONCERT!!!!
Our welcome party turned into a concert when we booked SoulOne. They were the most incredible live band I have ever heard. All of our guests were blown away! Words and videos do not capture just how talented this group of musicians are. Seriously the best part of our wedding weekend was listening to SoulOne play on our deck. SoulOne was amazing!! The guitar songs during cocktail hour were so lovely and exactly what we were hoping for. The DJing during our reception was so fun with laser lights and a fog machine and he knew how to get everyone dancing and played all the songs I requested! I had a timeline that ended up getting moved all around but they went along with everything and made announcements to keep the schedule on track. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!!

Kept the party going all night long!
We started the day having Brent playing the acoustic guitar. It was so great and matched the vibe of our gorgeous day perfectly! Then Steven kept the dance floor packed all night long! All of our guests loved dancing the night away. We also loved the lighting they provided! So much fun!

These guys are great!
For any event that an interactive band is needed, these guys are great! They worked with the party to play as many request as they knew. Lots of energy and sound was great. I would and will hire them again.

Hire SOULone immediately!!
My husband and I just got married on 7/15/22 and with both being huge into live music, we had to have a band play at our wedding. We did a bunch of research and if you’re getting married… SOULone is your band. Brent (lead singer and manager) was great to work with, he played live acoustic for our ceremony, our guests loved the cocktail hour trio band and the best part was the reception. SOULone crushed it!! If you’re looking to have a live band plus DJ at your wedding and not into all the cliche wedding/top 40 songs then SOULone is your answer. Our guests and us were on the dance floor all night long. We are all still talking about how awesome SOULone was and wish we had more time to jam with them! Thank you for making our big day absolutely priceless!

All three members of soulone were amazing human beings. Not only extremely skilled at their craft, the professionalism in every interaction leading up to and including our wedding & reception were top-notch. We would hire them again in a heart beat. A band and DJ in one. A SOULOne
I’m a fan for life now!! It was the most excellent experience ever!!! The band plays with incredible talent, songs we all know. They kept the timeline we requested and took requests.
The wedding ceremony was great with the acoustic song playing, for the procession and recession.
Steve, the drummer is also the DJ, he was able to read the room with efficiency and change the musical landscape with the changing crowds. (After the grandparents went to bed, more modern music, etc) He was up for allowing us to “Karaoke” with some of the songs, was the utmost professional.
The band let me push my sister-in-law to sing with them, was very accommodating and so fun!!
Working with SOULOne was a great experience from start to finish! We had such an amazing time!!!!

SOULOne was amazing throughout the process of working with them! They were very flexible with requests and helped with the timeline. Everyone loved their music and towards the end we switched to DJ music. No one wanted the night to end! The combination of both make them unique in the best ways!

SoulONE, their lead Brent, and the entire team are AWESOME. This is the band you want for your wedding. Their genres span all tastes of music so everyone has a great time, and they're very helpful at helping you coordinate your music timeline. They bring their own fun lighting, are so easy to coordinate with, and are very accommodating with special requests that you may want to add in last minute (speeches, announcements, etc.). Highly highly recommend!!!

SOULone does not disappoint !
SOULone was outstanding! They were the highlight of our wedding day.
We had a Guitar solo play during our ceremony; Trio band play during cocktail hour; and DJ play during reception.
Brent and Steve were both amazing leading up to our day and during the day. They were responsive to emails, and helped answer all of our questions.
We had raving reviews from guests about the trio band and DJ playing great music all night. The dance floor was never empty!
Do not hesitate and book these guys right away!!

A must have for your OBX wedding!
We cannot express enough how amazing SOULone was to have on our wedding day. The music was the exact vibe we were looking for and our guests could not believe the presence they had. I was blown away with their music, professionalism and kindness. Brent was always available to talk or email about any questions or advice I needed! He felt more like a wedding planner and friend than the service of music he provides. Do not pass on the opportunity to have them be a part of your special day.

AMAZING! Totally recommend
Brent and the rest of the band were absolutely amazing during our wedding. They not only provide live music but also a DJ service. Both services are unbelievable and all of my wedding guests were loving them! Overall they are very flexible and will make the best of every situation that is thrown at them. My wedding ended up being in the middle of a tropical storm but it didn't affect them at all. They found the best (and driest) area to set up and played an awesome set! They are a great beach band and the DJ will play whatever you request, and gauge what the audience will want next. They really are amazing and we 100% recommend them!

Rocked the night away with SOULone
I don't even know where to begin with this review because I can not rave about SOULone enough! I had THE best day ever, and SOULone kept the party going all night long!
To begin, I had no wedding planner and was planning my own backyard wedding. I knew I wanted a live band that would switch to DJ services later into the night. I hit up a couple of vendors, but after stumbling upon SOULone's listing on the wedding wire I checked their website and knew these guys were the ones I wanted to book.
Brent was very responsive and easy to communicate with. He even spent about half an hour on the phone with me to nail in a final timeline for the wedding. I could tell Brent has worked numerous of weddings before because he was asking me questions I didn't even think of! I can honestly say Brent helped me pull off my wedding with ease, especially since I did not have a wedding planner or coordinator. But that's not even the best part....
The best part is the band themselves. They showed up on time, ready to roll, and ready to rock the block. Brent played the ceremony music and it was so amazing to walk down to the aisle to Jack Johnson played beautifully by Brent. During the reception they had the whole dance floor pumped the ENTIRE night! I got to celebrate my wedding by dancing and rocking the night away with my husband, friends, and family. I did not even get a chance to eat much food because I was out on the dance floor most of the night. I had people come up to me numerous times telling me that it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and SOULone played a major role in that hype.
Steven took over the last part of the night with his DJ set and had EVERYONE dancing. He even mashed up two of my favorite songs I requested to end the night, which was just the cherry on top to finish an AMAZING day.
FIVE STARS ALL AROUND FOR THESE GUYS. They are probably hands down the best live band on the OBX right now. Brent killed it on guitar, Vaughan killed it on the bass, and Steven killed it on the drums and DJ set. They even brought out all the gizmos (lights, lasers, fog machines) and just rocked the whole block. We were dancing on tables by the end of the night, that's how much fun we had. They made my wedding day UNFORGETTABLE!!!
THANK YOU SOULONE!!! You have a new fan who will be supporting you at local gigs when I can! You guys are the best!

Really tied the room together
From the first call Brent was nothing but professional. These guys are veterans and it really showed in all aspects of our night - including helping to set up rain guards on our rental tent in case of rain (it didn't rain).
I really can't recommend SOULone enough. Great people, great music, and exactly what you want out of a wedding band.

Steven was great! We could have not asked for a better DJ/night. He seriously made the night! I loved that people requested songs and he played them. He announced that my niece lost her tooth, that was adorable! Overall just beyond great! Thank you again for the best night ever!

My wedding guest enjoyed the vibes
For our wedding we opted just for the lead singer Brent. Which I’m glad we didn’t opt for the whole band as my fiancé (husband) we’re literally taking photos the whole wedding! My guest definitely seemed to enjoy his services and where dancing most of the time. For whatever reason time didn’t allow for our first dance ( I’ll blame the photographer) No biggie for us, but if it matters to you just make it clear to Brent. There was some confusion about the last song, while I picked it for an exit, it was played as a last dance? Again no biggie, but if I would have known we where going to dance to the exit song, I would’ve preferred to have the first dance song as the last dance (since we didn’t get a chance for first dance). We spent more money on the photographer than on entertainment - our priorities where to capture the day. I’d say the entertainment is purely for the guest. However, I really appreciated the acoustic guitar while walking down the isle. It was a beautiful day & Brent surely added to it!

Brent played instrumentals during our ceremony and sang during our cocktail hour! He was absolutely incredible and made the ceremony so special. Our guests also enjoyed the live music during cocktail hour and said he was awesome! The drummer of SOULone DJ’d at our reception and he was a blast...He played all of our favorite songs and knew to switch songs immediately if people weren’t on the dance floor- he had our guests dancing all night!! I highly recommend SOULone!!!

SoulONE absolutely killed our wedding! They had everyone up and dancing until the end of our reception. We asked guests to share a song they promised to dance to and SoulONE was so amazing as making sure all got included. Best Acoustic & DJ money well spent!!!!
Brent Nultemeier lead singer to SOULone went above and beyond to meet our wedding needs. He worked with us to overcome any Covid concerns. Brent helped us plan and execute the best ceremony and reception and anytime we made a change he would update our contract and call with any questions. Brent is a very talented musician and has the ability to play a lot of genre's with ease.
He is very organized and helped us have an overall enjoyable experience with no hiccups in our wedding and reception. Brent brought up important points to consider when having a cottage style beach wedding. Brent and SOULone has the type of equipment to house any location and venue with high quality sound.
He and Steven are high tech,professional and knowledgeable. Brent created high quality sound during our very windy wedding. He sounded awesome and all our guests enjoyed his acoustic music at cocktail hour and during beach wedding. Steven was our DJ and he really got the party started. No one was seated. He played all our requests and had the ability to access any song requested by our guests. I will remember what a perfect combination SOULone provided for my event.
I look forward to working with Brent and hiring SOULone again.

Great choice for OBX event!
Soul One was amazing! I think we might have been one of the first Weddings with the Covid-19 hiatus and Brent was so flexible, positive and easy to work with! Our event went from 150 to 50 guests and it was perfect. We really appreciated the ceremony music and the fun dance reception - everyone was ready for fun. You can't go wrong! Exceeded our expectations
Brent was very helpful answering all the questions we had and coordinating with him was very easy, as he made himself available when needed. He also was very helpful in directing us in choosing the rights songs for each part of our wedding and even learned a new song just for us. He arrived early, which helped our packed schedule, and easily set up at the venue with no issues. I got many compliments on the music throughout the night and he created a relaxing environment for everyone to enjoy. I highly recommend him for you musical needs!! Thanks Brent.

It was truly an honor to have Brent come out and play at our wedding! Brent is an incredibly talented musician and played oh so perfectly on the night of our ceremony. Dance Party Fun
We used Brent to DJ for our holiday party. The dance floor stayed full for the whole two hours of his play time. He kept the music flowing and took request. He paid attention to detail before our event to be sure he had what was needed to be successful. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to others.

SOULone was very attentive to detail and prompt with communication. My brother decided to perform a special song during the ceremony and needed some questions answered- SOULone went above and beyond to help make this happen! A lot of our guests commented on how talented he is. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

Absolutely amazing! Everything was what we had imagined
Soul one did an AWESOME job! Their music selection was perfect and they were super flexible. My dad changed our father daughter dance just hours before they were coming to set up and they were able to change everything no problem! Will definitely be booking them again for another event

DJ Pack was professional, and responsive during the planning process. He played a perfect selection of music, and kept the crowd hyped! He played the ukulele for our ceremony, and spun awesome tunes at the reception, including a special mix he made just for me! Can't recommend him enough!

Fantastic! Highly Recommend!
Brent was so easy to work with and very accommodating to our needs. They were even flexible when we had to move everything to our back up plan due to rain. We hired Brent to play the acoustic guitar during the ceremony, the band during cocktail hour and dinner and then the DJ for the dancing portion of the evening and they were fantastic! The DJ even stayed a few hours after the reception was supposed to end so we could keep the party going. I would highly recommend SOULone for your wedding or event!

Smooth Operator
Brent is very well groomed and handsome and amiable and calm and very experienced. Brent gave the exact songs requested with no replacements or exceptions. Brent is not just a DJ. Brent is a musician and played the guitar beautifully at the church. He transitioned from processional to brides entrance to recessional fluidly. Brent REALLY enjoyed being at the wedding reception and interacted with the guests and let the children use his microphone. That was adorable.
Brent's strong points are:
COMMUNICATION. He text me while in the middle of another gig to answer a question that I had)
VERSATILITY: Equipment set up and break down, transitioning from live to media to guitar playing.
APPEARANCE: Very respectfully dressed and groomed. Great big smile and great attitude with all parties involved.
PUNCTUAL: Brent arrived at every venue way before on time and left in a graceful, calm way closing out the session like an expert.
I would call Brent a smooth operator and very pleasant to work with.

Absolutely perfect!
SoulOne was the absolutely perfect choice for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour/ reception! Brent was so responsive and professional throughout the entire process. And the music was amazing. We wanted a Sax in addition to the 3 piece band and they made it happen. They played music the majority of the time and it was just our style, our guests loved it! They had everyone on the dance floor. And they switched to DJing for the last hour or so and played all of the right songs and none of the bad ones :). Wish we could do it all over again and if we did we would work with SoulOne again.
Also - go see the guys live to meet them, they play all around the OBX and they’re great!!!!

SOULone: our vote for the best musician/DJ on the Outer Banks!
SOULone is hands down the best musicians/DJ for weddings on the Outer Banks! My husband and I were married at the Sanderling Resort on November 10th, and our experience working with Brent and his band was amazing! Brent played a beautiful acoustic processional/recessional for our ceremony, and then he played, along with his other band members, Mickey and Steven, at the cocktail hour and then switched to DJ mode the rest of the reception. It was as if he could intuitively tell the music to play to keep a variety of generations on the dance floor! More importantly, he is so easy to talk to about planning the event. He listened to all of our suggestions and helped to guide us through the process of choosing the right songs for the processional/recessional. People are still talking about the trio at our cocktail hour! SOULone kept our guests dancing until the final song! Thank you so much, Brent for the best wedding at the Sanderling Resort!

Excellent and Professional Band
Soul One did a phenomenal performance for our event of approximately 200 people. The music kept our guests energized and having fun all evening. They were professional, easy to work with and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend them to anyone having an event, function, or wedding!

Metallica!!
So my husband and I are Marines, and we love Metallica. Always have and it’s one thing we share as a couple that always makes for good music, friends etc so why not have it at your wedding right? Acoustic was beautifully played while everyone rushed around getting everything in order before sitting down. This was a renewal but with a twist since we had not had a ceremony the first time around. Brent was so generous and he didn’t need help with anything, he just set up and starting playing. Highly recommended!!

Awesome dj/ band combo
We met Brent at the OBX wedding expo, after talking with him we knew we had to have him and his band at our wedding! We loved their style, we were able to have the best of both worlds, live music and dj’Ed music. He was great to work with during the planning process and was able to play our favorites live for the ceremony and during the reception. We had the best time and our guests loved their music, the dance floor was packed the whole time!

I found Brent and SOULone by searching the internet for live entertainment and I liked they were local not to mention highly recommended. I do not regret my decision and preferred live band over DJ services not to mention they offer that as well. So I did have that where it was warranted. Great music mix

We love live music and felt we had to have live music during our wedding. It was amazing to see that SOULone did both live music and DJ. We had such a fun time at our wedding!!! We asked for a saxophone player as well because my husband absolutely loves hearing the Sax. They played for our ceremony, cocktail hour and did the reception. It was the best of the best. We wouldn't have had it any other way. Having live music during our wedding from start to finish was amazing. Book them!!! Brent is really good at responding to emails and phone calls. He also goes out of his way to make sure both the couple and the band are on the same page for the entire day! Going to miss being in contact with them to plan our wedding!!!

Brent was a great musician and DJ for our June wedding at Jennette's Pier. He was very responsive during the entire planning process. He played acoustic instrumental music for our ceremony and instrumental solo music for our cocktail hour and provided DJ services and announcements for the reception. He did a great job at all 3. As the bride, I missed most of the ceremony/cocktail hour music, but heard many compliments about his music. During the reception, every song played was perfect. The crowd never stopped dancing and having fun. He also did a great job at the announcements throughout the night. I have no complaints at all. We are very happy that we used Brent for our wedding. Everything was perfect!!!
