Sonesta Resort was the best choice we made for our wedding! We are from Upstate New York and picked a handful of venues to tour on a quick trip. We toured Sonesta and 2 other venues in Hilton Head Island, and Sonesta was hands down the best. The scenery, location, and price were amazing! But that is not the reason we booked with them. The sales manager Delaney was the kindest, most dedicated, and fun person to work with! She made sure that we had everything we needed! I am gluten free, as were several of our guests, and Delaney ensure that almost all of the food was made gluten free or had a gluten free option. We also needed easels, reserved signs, and random items we thought we be an extra charge and were free. Sonesta goes above and beyond, 5 stars is truly not enough for the service we got!

Everyone I worked with at Sonesta was absolutely amazing from Delaney, the catering event manager to Immie, their director of food and beverage. Everything went off without a hitch during the ceremony. Immie made three cocktails in batched portions for me and they tasted exactly as they should. Dinner was next-level (not your typical wedding food). they even allowed me to use their conference rooms as storage for decorations before and after the reception dropping things off the day before and picking things up the day after. I highly recommend the Beach Pavilion at Sonesta for a picture perfect wedding! Thank you to the entire Sonesta team for an amazing night 😊 -

Our wedding day at Sonesta Resort in Hilton Head was nothing short of perfection, thanks in large part to Delaney, the incredible venue, and catering team. From the moment we set foot on the property, we knew we had found the ideal place to celebrate our special day.
The venue itself is a slice of paradise. The greenery, fountains, and the breathtaking ocean views, provided the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and reception.
The catering team at Sonesta Resort deserves special recognition for their outstanding service. From the tasting session to the reception dinner, the food was nothing less than sensational. Our guests raved about the quality and presentation of the dishes, and many said it was the best wedding meal they had ever experienced.
What truly sets Sonesta Resort apart, however, is their dedicated and accommodating staff. The wedding planning process was made seamless by Delaney, who guided us every step of the way and ensured that our vision became a reality. On the big day, the entire team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. They were responsive, flexible, and attentive to every detail, making us feel like royalty.

We had our perfect dream wedding at Sonesta! Delaney and her team at Sonesta are amazing! My husband and I are so happy with how everything turned out. Delaney was so helpful during the entire process by answering any questions I had and going above and beyond for us. The staff was so attentive to us and our guests during the reception. The bartenders were great and so nice. The food was DELICIOUS! Everyone we have spoken to has told us that the team at Sonesta was so helpful and attentive during the wedding and it was one of the best they’ve ever been to. Everything was wonderful, including the day of coordinator, Delaney. She was there from the beginning to the end and helped everything run very smoothly. The ceremony was on the beach, which was beautiful and the reception was in the pavilion. The food was very tasty. We recently got married on the beach and had our reception at the Sonesta Beachfront Pavilion! Everything was PERFECT. We worked with the event coordinator, Delaney, who was PHENOMENAL! She was so easy to work with and very responsive to all our questions and needs. Our wedding was everything we dreamed of, thanks to Delaney and the entire Sonesta crew. The food and beverages were delicious! We loved the pavilion area - and also liked that it can be closed in with clear sides incase the weather doesn’t cooperate. They also have a cozy fireplace and heaters in the pavilion. We also had our Welcome Party at the Sea Crest terrace and farewell breakfast in the Savanna ballroom, both in the resort! Our guests loved the beach, pool and events all at the Sonesta! Would highly recommend the Sonesta Resort & Delaney! Our wedding was everything we dreamed of (& more!!) thanks to them! -

Thank you to the entire staff of the Sonesta in making my daughters wedding a day to remember. The food was top notch as was the staff. Special thanks to Delaney Schneider, events coordinator at the Sonesta. She jumped in and went above and beyond for us. Our wedding planner that we hired (Sarah Wright of Everlasting Events) totally dropped the ball from set up, to organizing to table coordination. Delaney even ran back to the room to get my daughter bouquet that our planners staff forgot. I was shocked when I saw the centerpieces that our planner placed on the tables. They looked like dollar store quality and did not contain vases with filled shells. Delaney brought it to our planners attention. Delaney picked up on our distress of our event planner and did what she could to ensure we had a wonderful event. I highly recommend the staff of Sonesta and you can count on Delaney Schneider to ensure you will have a wonderful event. -

We had our wedding of 160 guests at Sonesta on the pavilion and they helped execute it seamlessly!! Truly professionals in every sense of the word. Delaney is the point of contact for all things weddings at Sonesta and she helped me SO MUCH. Their team is helpful, attentive, and very willing to help your wedding dreams come to life. Highly recommend. -

Great Venue
My husband and I looked at a lot of venues in Hilton Head. Once we toured the Sonesta Pavilion, we knew it was the location. We had our ceremony on the beach and Reception on the pavilion. It was second week of December and the weather stood out for us. Andrew managed our event and put out all of the fires that occurred the day of, with ease. Best part of it all, people RAVED about the food after! -

We rolled the dice and booked the Sonesta as our wedding venue without ever seeing it, and I am so glad we did! We booked for October at the Pavillion to have access to the beach with the additional insurance of our ceremony happening rain or shine. October had wonderful weather and the venue was beautiful and spacious for us and our guests! The catering is provided by the resort's staff, and it was absolutely delicious!! (The next day us and our guests all raved about the food being incredible!) Theresa had everything handled and wasn't above jumping in to help serve meals and direct the wedding party to keep things moving. She's a busy woman during wedding season but still managed to make us feel like we were the center of her attention leading up to the big day by handling all our issues and questions effortlessly. The rest of the hotel staff is fun, friendly, and will make you sad when the time comes to leave. 10/10 recommend!! -

We just had our wedding at the Sonesta, we have been working with Theresa for almost two years, we had to push back our wedding due to COVID and she helped get everything moved and made sure there was no stress and nothing to worry about. She was on top of everything and helped out with every aspect and was so thorough and detailed. I could not of made it to my wedding day with out her. She was such a pleasure to work and brought my dream wedding to life! -

We had such an amazing experience at Sonesta! The venue itself is beautiful and the staff is amazing! Everybody is so ready and willing to help. Theresa was always available for us throughout the entire process. The packages they offered allow lot of room for customization. We are still receiving compliments about the food. Our guests say it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding! Everything ran so smoothly and we had the perfect wedding day! -

Definitely recommend!!! The Sonesta was absolutely good to me! Especially Samantha, the catering sales manager. She had me from the first email. She took care of everything. I’m military and was very scared about trying to find something while I’m in Germany but she made everything easy. Wedding package came with a suite and even the suite blew me away. The hotel was gorgeous and the beach ceremony was beautiful. Price was even perfect and they worked with me through it all. If you want your dream wedding the Sonesta will make sure it’s done. They will work with you regarding any concerns you have! If I could give a 10 star rating I would! -

My husband and I could not be more thrilled with how our recent October wedding went at the Sonesta. We spent a LOT of time researching and visiting venues once we knew we were going to do it in Hilton Head. Sonesta was the CLEAR standout - in part because of the incredible scenery, and in other part because of the cost. We were going for a simple and classic vibe, and the scenery at the Sonesta is just perfect between the beach, the pond and fountain, and the resort overall. We did our ceremony out on the lawn and our reception in the Pavilion. What we loved about the Sonesta was that if it rained, we could still have our wedding in the Pavilion, and could avoid doing anything in a ballroom.
We worked mostly with Theresa Anthony and she is absolutely fabulous. She was always up front with us and so excited at the prospect of working with us. We knew we were in the best hands with Theresa.
On top of all this, the food is incredible. We had such a hard time making decisions at our tasting because everything was so good and they have so many incredible options.
We so look forward to going back to the Sonesta for our anniversary! -

And I don’t mean the kind of perfect that meets expectations, where everybody walks away saying, “Well, that was nice.” The Sonesta was the kind of perfect that has our GUESTS writing thank you notes to US for choosing that venue.
Theresa Anthony was a genius at guiding the planning of our event. She was available for questions via telephone and email, and responded quickly to any questions we asked. Every detail was executed seamlessly. I would not hesitate to put any event in her hands.
The venue was the ideal setting for our families and friends as well. The quality of the guest rooms is what you would expect from a true resort – well-stocked, exceptionally clean, and up-to-date. Because it is centrally located, guests had a great opportunity to easily explore the island.
The food. I need to tell you about the food. Because we decided on a morning wedding (10:30), the reception was a glorious brunch. The quality of the food and the courtesy of the servers was far above expectations.
The Sonesta provided us with a beautiful setting, great common areas to gather, high quality food and beverages, at a very reasonable price. -

Jaime Sent on 06/23/2017The Sonesta has such a special place in my heart. It was the venue of my dreams, and my wedding day was literally the most magical day of my life. My husband and I were actually a Hurricane Matthew couple--we were supposed to originally get married back in October 2016 at a completely different venue in Hilton Head! I almost think the hurricane was doing us a favor, because after we had to cancel, I had the opportunity to switch to the Sonesta (which had been my dream venue since Day 1, but had been unavailable for our October date). The other venue had left me feeling disappointed throughout the entire process, so when we made the decision to switch to the Sonesta, it was like a breath of fresh air.
We worked with Kristen, who is extremely professional, kind, and efficient. She responded to emails promptly, and was there for us all throughout the rehearsal and wedding day process. She made everything flow smoothly, and we're very thankful for her help and assistance throughout the months!
The Sonesta is literally one of the most beautiful resorts I've been to. The grounds are stunningly gorgeous! We had both our ceremony and reception in the Pavilion, and the entire layout, setup, and lighting is downright dreamy. It was perfect weather on our wedding day, but even if it hadn't, it's still covered so you wouldn't ever have to worry about rain putting a damper on the day. The food and staff were top notch as well! My guests still can't stop raving about how beautiful and perfect everything was.
I don't see how any other wedding venue in Hilton Head could even compare to the Sonesta--it's one of a kind, and will hands down be the most beautiful location you can get for a dream wedding! -

The Sonesta Resort and its fearless director of catering and sales--David Leffew--were amazing in executing our wedding and all of the little details that went along with it. I fully admit that we went slightly DIY crazy with the wedding decor (handmade centerpieces, table numbers, etc etc), but David gave us a room to put them in so we didn't have to cram it into our hotel room and then he made it magically come together on the day of.
We seriously feel like David is family at this point. He was warm, friendly, professional, and fun to work with. He gave us input on everything from schedule the day of to putting together a menu. Even though we are foodies we weren't really serious about the menu, but then we did the tasting and the were so excited about the phenomenal and delicious choices for our guests (again engineered by David).
I think one of the most critical points of the process that illustrates just how amazing David and his staff are, the weather the day before the wedding was pretty bad and the morning of was pretty dismal as well and the ceremony was at 4:30pm--on the beach. We were prepared to make a call to move the wedding under the Pavilion around noon but David pushed the call to 2pm and suddenly the sun came out and it warmed up to 70+ degrees. The groom was outside with David and they decided to go with the ceremony on the beach and it was gorgeous.
Needless to say, our wedding was awesome and we had a worry-free blast at it because of David's planning!! -

Now, I was blown away by the wedding staff especially Mackenzie and the catering services - but specifically that young lady made the entire planning process a dream. She walked us through the food, the entire venue and timeline. She precalled several times and made sure the day ran smoothly. Overall truely exceptional experience.
The whole venue was lovely, we got married on the lawn then the reception pavilion. The weather was perfect, and do not worry if it gets chilly they close and adjust the doors seemlessly. Also the bartending staff is very nice, they were stars of the show for several of our guests, remembering people by name and favorite libations. It was very nice.
I only dropped down a star for two reasons, I hate to even mention them because it was an overwhelmingly positive experience but these were two big things that irked me, first the front desk hotel staff did not honor the early check in that we had early email confirmation for our hotel due to a welcome lunch rather they allowed the person in our room a late checkout stating they were an 'MVP", hearing that as the bride rubbed me the wrong way and made it so we missed our own welcome lunch. And the second little issue was the night hotel staffer- i hate to say it but followed us around and felt like they were out to get us a bit, we are pg13 people but we also wanted to keep hanging out with our friends that flew thousands of miles to be with us so after our party we went to our room, no one was checked in near us. We spent thousands of dollars and this staffer person literally followed us from our after party to our room, waited outside our door 5 minutes and faked an issue it was really odd. They even threatened to call the police. THAT is absurd, we didnt have music, were just chatting in our room.
But other than that, great location, cost efficient and the food is the stuff of legends.
