Saves the Day

I cannot say enough good things about Shannon. She literally saved the day. We had a local reputable Dallas artist booked for our wedding and she didnt show up or respond to calls. Shannon responded quickly with a wonderful approach to navigate the situation. She arrived to the venue within 15 minutes and saved the day for the bride. We could not be more grateful for such a professional service!

Love love love Shannon. She's so accommodating, positive, has an awesome personality that makes the day of the wedding go by with such a fun spirit. She did hair and makeup for mother of bride and groom plus bridal party and created exactly what we wanted.

Shannon is fantastic! She is so much fun to work with also and you feel so comfortable with her. Her team was fantastic with the girls and so much fun when we were getting ready! They took great care of the girls and myself and I recommend them to anyone!

Something You... did an AMAZING job! I worked with Shannon for my engagement shoot, trial, and the day-of, so I knew getting ready on my wedding day was going to be a breeze. My mom is super picky and lives out of town, but Shannon made time for a consult with her during one of her planning visits, which I (and my mom) really appreciated. On our wedding day, Shannon and Chantee did an incredible job with my bridesmaids and my mom - everyone LOVED their looks! Since I had a trial, I knew what to expect for my hair and make up, but I ended up with a 'do that was even better than I could have imagined! The day was super calm and relaxing, and Shannon even came back for touch ups just before we headed to the church! We just got our pictures, and everyone's hair still looked awesome at the end of the night, too!

Shannon and her team are AMAZING! I booked Shannon and Chantee for hair and makeup services on the morning of my wedding. I cannot express how professional everyone in Shannon's team is. We had a BLAST ... and looked amazing! They were so much fun to have around us on the morning of my wedding, and they were wonderful with listening to what everyone wanted, yet still taking my wishes into consideration for the bridesmaids. If anyone didn't like their hair or makeup, Shannon had no issue redoing anything and making everyone comfortable ... but I really don't think anyone had any issues at all :). I cannot express how thankful I am for Shannon and her team for making us so beautiful on the big day! Shannon even brought an assistant and had her come with us to the church for touch ups and placing the veil. She stayed right up until we walked down the aisle, and even scuffed my shoes for me outside!! If I know anyone who needs makeup or hair services, I would send them to Shannon immediately. Thank you to everyone who was involved in our special day!!

I can not begin to tell you how great these folks are. The ladies I worked with are really masters of their craft and can be considered artist. I have extremely pale skin and fairly small eyes, I can not imagine that being super easy to work with, but Chantee did an excellent job every single time she met with me on my makeup. My hair goes way past my waist (at times I can almost sit on it) and I probably have some of the thickest and healthiest hair you will come across. Both Shanon and Chantee managed to get my insane amount of hair into a beautiful bun that incorporated a hair vine and my veil and made it not look like some big Texas hair. My hair was elegant and while yes you could tell there is a lot it did not look like my head was going to fall off any second from the weight. I am so grateful I got to work with such amazing people I I am really hoping to work with them again in the future.

Shannon and Kelly were just amazing. The makeup was glamorous, yet natural. The girls were gorgeous in the first place, but they stunned with hair and makeup. We were able to communicate about my vision for hair and makeup and Shannon took it and ran with it. I was nervous that my makeup would shock my groom, but he loved it and it was still natural. Not a single touch up was needed all night. Not only did she help beautify me for my big day, but helped calm nerves and gain composure/control when needed. We all laughed and had an overall great time getting ready. Thank you, Shannon for setting us up for a wonderful night.

Shannon and her associates are wonderful hair and make-up artists! Everyone in my bridal party looked so gorgeous and Shannon spent her time making sure my hair and make-up was flawless! They spent the entire day in our bridal suite beautifying each and every one of the 8 women in my bridal party to perfection! She also provided a touch up kit for us for later in the night AND helped me and the girls with everything from putting our dresses on to organizing our day-of necessities. I even had a last minute eyelash malfunction and she rushed back to our hotel to help me fix it! Something You Make Up Artistry is THE BEST OF THE BEST! Thank you ladies so much for making my wedding day so special!

Shannon and her team were amazing! We had 10 ladies that had their hair and make-up done for my daughter's wedding. Everyone was stunning. Shannon brings experience and expertise to any occasion and personalized make-up and hairstyles to complement each person. On top of that- everyone had a blast! Shannon was AMAZING! Not only did she make me look stunning, she made me feel like a million bucks! From the first time we talked, I knew I had chosen the right person for the day. Shannon was professional but so easy to talk to and offered great suggestions for someone who didn't really know what they wanted. She was able to put my unknown vision into reality. I've never received as many compliments as I did on this day...wedding day or not! I would hire her again for any event that I need makeup and hair done!

Shannon was fantastic. My wedding makeup was absolutely perfect. I've had so many compliments and people telling me how beautiful I was and how perfect I looked. And my husband and I still joke about the "dirk-chapstick". When I had a moment of upsetting news, Shannon was willing to redo my makeup and made me laugh in the process. She was understanding and patient (even with a "stage-5 blinker" like myself) and I will recommend her to all of my friends. She took all of my ideas into consideration, explained what would or wouldn't work and why, and came up with the perfect hair and make up style for myself and my bridesmaids. I couldn't have been happier :)

Shannon is a life saver!!

After another company was very unprofessional and cancelled on me 3 weeks before my wedding, Shannon stepped up and took over!! She was very caring and promised to take care of me, which she did!!!

Shannon is very funny and kept me laughing the entire time during our trial run!

On the day of the wedding, she made everyone look amazing! When I was stressing out, Shannon calmed my nerves, cleared the room, and did my hair while we sat on the bed like teenage girls!

I cannot thank Shannon enough for her services!!!!!! I would recommend her to everyone!!

Shannon is a jack of all trades. She is so talented with airbrush make up and makes you feel absolutely BEAUTIFUL. She is fun and energetic and made the entire getting ready experience a blast.

On my wedding day not only did she do my hair and makeup mother and 5 bridesmaids. She also re-stitched the lace on my wedding gown that was hanging off because the alterations missed an Applique on my gown.

Shannon is very efficient with her time and does a great job applying makeup that will last ALL NIGHT LONG even when its 107 like it was on my wedding day!!!

I also used Shannon for my engagement photos and company holiday party.

Shannon. Was. Amazing. She was one of my favorite vendors. She was easy, helpful, funny, went above the call of duty and made my morning of the wedding relaxing and fun. Additionally, during the bridal portraits, she came with us to the venue and stayed over an hour and a half as the "assistant" helping with getting poses set, arranging my dress, etc. All while she was over seven months pregnant. I would recommend her as a vendor - she may just turn out to be a friend as well!

Shannon is the best. Hands down. She doesn't just bring impeccable makeup artistry to your wedding, she brings a fun attitude and the ability to destract everyone and keep things light and funny before a really stressful event (i.e. a wedding ceremony!). She does beautiful work and I highly recommend her...and her lash-loving style!!! I heart Shannon!

Shannon came through kind of last minute when I was freaking out about my original makeup artist. She does airbrush makeup and hair. I only technically used her for makeup. I say this because I have never seen someone go so far above and beyond. Not only did she do amazing full makeup on me, and foundation on one of my attendants, but she did the flower girl’s hair, helped with my veil, got me dressed, and was just everywhere at once and available to help with anything that came up. She showed up 4 hours before we were scheduled to leave and stayed until we had done all of our pre-wedding photos and were off in the limo. If you are wondering whether airbrush is worth it, I say YES. If it’s in your budget, the quality is great, and Shannon is the person to talk to!

SHANNON IS FANTASTIC!! I never did a trial because I wasn't doing bridals until the wedding day.. so I was a little nervous... I explained to her what I kind of wanted.. I wanted to wear a Spanish comb.. but didn't know how to wear it with the way I wanted my hair.. and she seemed confident, so I felt confident with her. My make up looked AWESOME.. the day of the wedding she sent me pictures of hairstyles that she tried on herself.. loved it.. she pretty much made everything spectacular for me in that department!

Shannon was an absolute God-send for me during my bridal portraits and on my wedding day! My airbrushed makeup was flawless and lasted through my entire outdoor bridal shoot in the Texas summer heat! All of my close up shots were done at the end of the session and my makeup still looked perfect. On my wedding day Shannon showed up right on time and amused me and my bridesmaids as she did my and my matron-of-honor's makeup. She even made time to do eye makeup and lashes for my mother who upon seeing our finished faces exclaimed that she wanted to look fabulous too! My husband and I are were not your standard subdued bride and groom and thus danced for hours at the reception and my makeup lasted through my reception and late into the night, and still looked just as perfect as when it was first applied. Shannon is amazing. If you want to look stunning on your wedding day, use her. Her cost is very competitive and her professionalism and skill outshine many of the other makeup artists I had spoken with. She is FANTASTIC and I can't thank her enough!

Shannon was God Sent on my wedding day. She has a designers eye. She provides unique insight and very creative ideas to every situation. She went above and beyond what was asked of her and was happy to do it. She was also like a security blanket to me. She handles every situation like a pro, very funny, and made me feel relaxed and happy. I highly recommend her.
I have been in the modeling industry for many years and I can confidently say that she is the best make-up artist I have experienced. Use her... you will be glad you did!

My wedding was beautiful thanks to Shannon! She help me coordinated all the ideas - which were a lot! - into one beautiful wedding. Shannon helped me through two sticky situations - one involving the death of a hotel plant after a major breakdown - not only did she help me hide the body (of the plant- about 4ft tall) she calm me down, re-did my make up, put my hair-up and I was "Ethereal"! And no one at the rehearsal dinner knew I was a plant murdering bridzella.
Could not have done it without you and If I could do it again -would not have done it without her - well, maybe I wouldn't have destroyed that plant....OK, yes I would.

Shannon is a freelance artist, so she came to my suite at my hotel to do my make up and all my bridesmaids and house party too. She was so calming and professional that I felt even better when she put on my veil and sent me down the aisle. I will be using her for all my make up from now on and 3 of my bridesmaids will use her for their upcoming weddings as well. My (now!) husband was a little worried about me having my make up done and even said "I'm worried you'll look like a hoochie" but I was simply, beautifully, me.

Shannon was recommended to me by Bliss Bridal in Fort Worth where I bought my dress. She had done the owners make up for her wedding and I couldn't think of a better tesitmony! I didn't know her before but we have run into each other several times since then and always stop and talk for a bit to catch up. She even emailed me a 6 month congratulations on my wedding...who does that?

Bottom line, she's just awesome. We all looked flawless but not overdone. My pictures are perfect, my make up stayed on all night (and I mean ALL NIGHT...I was still perfect the next morning) and I have never met anyone more committed to making sure I looked like me but better on my wedding day.

Shannon is a consummate professional. I don't have a lot of experience wearing makeup, and when my trial for my wedding makeup didn't look exactly as I'd hoped, she scheduled another session to make sure that I was happy and comfortable. On my wedding day, she arrived early with a huge smile on her face. She was relaxed and funny and fit right into the bridal suite atmosphere. Everyone in my bridal party looked gorgeous and was thrilled with their makeup--especially me; I have never felt so effortlessly beautiful as when Shannon took care of me! I would recommend her to anyone--and everyone.

Shannon and her team were FABULOUS! I was so happy with my hair and makeup on our big day! She made everything so positive and upbeat! They arrived at Ashton Gardens on time and totally prepared! Girls even added more services once they saw how beautiful she made us all! All the bridesmaids looked gorgeous as well! We will definitely be using her again for big events.

I.Love.Shannon. I can't recommend her enough! She made me feel so gorgeous, even when my skin decided to revolt and breakout leading up to the big day. When I was trying to decide who to go with for hair and makeup Shannon talked with me at length on the phone about what she offers, what sets her and her team apart, and even then insisted we meet in person for coffee to talk more so she could get a better feel for what I would be needing. We had a BIG group...12 people for hair and makeup!...so I wanted to be sure whoever I went with could handle the size of our party. My wedding planner highly recommended Shannon precisely because not only does she do an incredible job, she is militant about keeping on schedule. And I can vouch for that. In fact, I don't know how it's possible, but we were WAY ahead of schedule the day of the wedding. And she took the time to make sure every single person was happy with their hair and makeup before we were out the door. She is hillarious and kept us entertained all day while we were getting ready.

Beyond hair and makeup, Shannon goes above and WAY beyond what could ever be asked or expected of her. When our photographer arrived to start taking getting ready photos, Shannon went into stylist mode and ran that room to made sure everyone was where then needed to be and perfectly primped. She was the calm and direction we needed in the room as the whirlwind started. I am forever thankful for her and will call her up in a heartbeat the next time I need to look pretty.

Good Job from Something You Team

The Something You team helped me to look beautiful on my wedding day which is the most important thing. There path to get there did cause me a little heartburn tho. It often took 3-4 emails/texts to get a response on a question. This added another layer of stress to an already stressful process. When I did meet with Shannon in person, she explained that she was dealing with a bad assistant who had since been let go. Unfortunately I was stuck on the receiving end of this issue. Shannon was super professional. She was always calm and collected and even doles out words of advice. For example she taught my MOH how to remove my veil without disrupting my hair. Those little touches really helped the day to pass by smoothly. As far as value is concerned, her services are a bit pricy for me. A trail was $300. After my first trial didn't go too well, I couldn't afford a second trial and was left panicked that she would be able to pull it off on the day of (which she totally did!) Overall I am satisfied with Shannon's services as she did the most important thing that she was hired to do. Which was make me look beautiful on my wedding day.
