    The Best!!

    We cannot recommend Julie/Something Bleu Weddings enough! We did the Event Management Package for our Labor Day 2024 wedding in Duxbury, MA. From 3 months out, Julie was a huge help in finalizing all of our logistics and coordinating our vendors so that everything went off without a hitch. In particular, we were worried about the logistics of our transportation as we were working across several locations about 15 minutes apart and Julie helped alleviate any concerns by being so organizing and getting the timeline down to a T! Everything ran so smoothly the day of and our parents and wedding party were very complimentary of Julie’s support. Something Bleu was always professional and highly responsive in communications with us and our vendors. Julie and her assistant Tina also made the decor we picked out look amazing and totally executed the vision we were going for!

    Julie is Amazing!!!!

    We had the absolute pleasure of working with Julie of Something Bleu Weddings for our September wedding at the Fairmont Copley in Boston, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the very first meeting, Julie’s attention to detail and calming demeaner stood out. She took the time to truly understand our vision and helped bring it to life in a way that exceeded all expectations.
    Julie’s calming approach was invaluable throughout the planning process. As anyone who has planned a wedding knows, it can get stressful at times, but Julie was always there with a reassuring smile and practical solutions (including some homework assignments for us between meetings) to ensure we were staying on track throughout the planning process. She kept what would have been an overwhelming experience for young professionals light and fun while checking off the relevant action items during the planning process.

    Another thing that really impressed us was her extensive network of vendors. Thanks to Julie’s recommendations and coordination, we worked with top-notch professionals who understood our style and needs and Julie coordinated all interactions with these vendors to ensure the wedding day went perfectly.

    On the wedding day itself, Julie was a calm, efficient force behind the scenes, ensuring that everything went smoothly. She handled all the logistics so we (and our parents) could focus on enjoying the most important day of our lives. Thanks to her, our wedding was flawless, and we couldn't be more grateful for all her hard work and dedication.

    Great Experience!

    I would like to thank my amazing wedding planner, Julie Riley, @somethingbleuweddings. Julie was professional and incredibly flexible with my time schedule which helped since I lived overseas. I have never planned a wedding before or helped in planning a wedding so I was not sure what to expect. She created a timeline as well as set an expectation of when everything needed to be executed, e.g. when the save the date should be sent, invitations sent, menus set, everything. Julie designed the seating plan, the ceremony as well as a back-up plan in case it rained, which it did. She was incredibly creative and made me feel confident with my choices. I can't really say enough how much attention to detail Julie gave, down to the timeline of events on the day of the wedding. She made sure that I was comfortable and taken care of on the day of the wedding, as well as my guests. Thank you, Julie! I strongly recommend her.

    Best Wedding Planner in the Boston area!!!

    We recently had the pleasure of working with Julie Riley from Something Bleu Weddings for our wedding, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. Julie provided us with partial planning services, and her incredible organization and accessibility were evident from the start. Julie was always easy to reach and responsive to all our questions and concerns. She truly helped ease my anxieties in the lead-up to the wedding, providing support and guidance every step of the way. Her meticulous attention to detail was particularly evident on the wedding day. Despite a few hiccups, like missing items for the groomsmen, Julie kept everything organized and calm, ensuring the day went smoothly. One of the standout aspects of working with Julie was how she walked us through everything we did and didn’t need for our wedding. Her expertise helped us focus on what truly mattered, saving us time and stress. Our guests were in awe of the beautiful layout and décor, all thanks to Julie's keen eye for detail. On the wedding day, Julie's coordination was flawless. She kept us on schedule and maintained excellent communication with all our other vendors, making sure everything was executed perfectly.     Julie did a great job at our wedding!

    We were pleased with the help that Julie provided to us throughout the wedding planning process. In the beginning, we purchased an event management-type package to assist with planning as we live far away and needed the assistance. We are definitely glad to have done that, not sure what we would have done if we hadn't hired a planner. She made sure our vision came to life and we didn't worry at all that she was helping to get everything set up while our ceremony was happening. Was great at giving us niche/industry-specific answers about the process. Our only regret was not budgeting more for a larger package.

    Best wedding planner ever!

    Julie is amazing! She made wedding planning a stress-free experience for us. She is so organized, so knowledgeable, so nice and just a lovely person all around. She had great vendor recommendations and managed every little detail flawlessly. Can't recommend her enough! We had a lot of moving pieces and she kept a cool head, even during stressful moments on our day of. She is a total pro!

    Outstanding!

    Julie was absolutely outstanding to work with! We hired Julie for Design & Coordination services over the ~10 months leading up to our wedding and truly can’t say enough wonderful things about our experience!

    Julie is exceptionally professional and organized — she kept us informed of key milestones with our venue and vendor teams to ensure we stayed on track, despite our very crazy work schedules, and was always prompt and responsive, even about the tiniest of questions (and we had many!!).

    Moreover, Julie leverages a robust network across the wedding industry and was always armed with a short-list of trusted recommendations for any service or item we wanted to consider, from florals, to invitations/paper goods, signage, specialty lighting, miscellaneous decor, etc. Julie also helped us prioritize the best ways to achieve design “impact” without overextending our budget, including brainstorming a number of creative and bespoke details to layer personal, unexpected touches into our overall design. She quickly understood our style and vision and helped us communicate effectively with our vendors to ensure this vision came together cohesively.

    In the final weeks leading up to our wedding, Julie was truly the calming force we needed. She was proactive and transparent to address any information that might have differed from our expectations: e.g., when we ran into a few miscommunications as a result of turnover within one of our vendor teams (completely out of our control), Julie was a strong and effective advocate and resolved several of our concerns within a few short hours.

    On the day of our wedding, Julie and the Something Bleu team (thank you Daniella and Rachael!) ensured every detail was in place and every transition was seamless so we could enjoy each moment without any stress. We cannot thank Julie enough and highly recommend Something Bleu to any couple looking for A+ support in their wedding planning process!

    Julie Created Our Dream Wedding

    Julie did a fantastic job planning our wedding from start to finish! She has a great network of vendors and helped us choose the ones that were a good fit for us personally while staying within our budget.

    After we looked at a few venues together and weren’t quite sold on them, Julie suggested what ended up being the place we chose, and we could not have been happier. The staff went above and beyond and our guests raved about how every detail was done so well. Julie was the driving force behind those details.

    Julie kept in touch with us by scheduling regular meetings leading up to our wedding day, making sure we were on track with everything from picking our vendors, to ordering dresses and suits, to sending our invitations. We felt like we were her only clients at times with how responsive she was over email.

    On the day of our wedding, she made sure everything went smoothly and everyone was happy. If there was anything unexpected that happened, she and her team handled it seamlessly.

    Julie truly made our wedding day one that we will always look back on as the perfect day and we would not have been able to say that without her thoughtfulness, attention to detail, and industry knowledge. She really cared that our day was special and it showed in her work.

    Best Decision We Made for Our Wedding

    If you are getting married, you need Julie. Not just a wedding planner - you need JULIE.

    When my husband and I got engaged, we knew we wanted to have our wedding in our hometown, at my parents' house - but that was about it. I began to try to plan on my own, but working full time and finishing my master's degree was already more than I knew how to budget time for. We interviewed a few different wedding planners, and Julie immediately stuck out to us - her warm demeanor, professional attitude, and clear organization/plan for how to plan out our wedding was a relief, and when we got off the Zoom call, my parents and my fiancé and I all knew that we needed her on our team.

    Julie is incredibly responsive, asks all the right questions, and truly let us design our own wedding. She led us through the process with clear deadlines for decision-making, and when we needed suggestions she carefully steered us in the right direction with vendors she'd successfully worked with previously. Julie photographed everything each step of the way, ensuring that all our choices were documented and ordered perfectly.

    Julie made design mood boards for us, and when I inevitably changed my mind of some of the decisions, she made it seem easy to make all those changes across ALL her documentation and inspiration photos. Not only did we feel extremely well-prepared with Julie, it felt like our wedding was the only one she was planning at the time - something that takes talent, dedication, and organization to stay so on top of every detail.

    The final few weeks before our wedding, Julie made our lives so much easier by crafting a schedule for the day of, letting us know when our vendors would arrive to set everything up, and even sending us photos of things arriving! We felt incredibly lucky to have someone as experienced, professional, and lovely as Julie on our team - our wedding was absolutely the best day of our lives, and we can truly attribute that to Julie's hard work. Everything turned out more beautiful and perfect than I could have imagined, and even some light rain showers on the day couldn't keep people from celebrating - Julie and her assistants were literally on their hands and knees wiping down the dance from to make sure everyone could safely dance the night away!

    I couldn't recommend working with Julie any more strongly, and honestly, I already miss our Zoom meetings! She is not only a true professional, but she is a kind, warm person, and someone you will enjoy spending time with. If you do one thing for yourself, get Julie on your team for your day - it was the best decision we made for our wedding!

    The Perfect Planner

    I originally hired Julie of Something Bleu in 2021 for my 2022 wedding which needed to be postponed. Julie was very accommodating when I reached out to postpone and then went right to work when it was time to start working on my wedding together. I cannot stress how important it is to hire a wedding planner if you are doing a private estate wedding! Julie and her team were wonderful to work with! She starting working with me and my family two months out from my wedding and was successfully able to button up all the vendor details and create the perfect timeline for my wedding day. Julie is very detail-oriented and knows all the right questions to ask! Each planning meeting was informative and efficient and Julie's advice along the way was everything we needed. Julie's colleague, Tina, also served as a coordinator for our wedding day and she was amazing! Tina helped with event setup and keeping our family and friends on time throughout the wedding day. I would highly recommend both ladies! My now husband and I are very happy that we decided to hire a wedding planner. It takes away any day-of anxiety knowing that you have a planner that will take care of all the little details and will have your back!

    The MOST Amazing Wedding Planner

    I honestly don't even know where to start - Julie was amazing. From the moment I met her, I formed a connection with the way she handled herself, personality and professionalism. I immediately booked her full-service package and went right into planning. She attended venue tours with us, set up numerous Zoom interviews with vendors and always provided an updated budget as booking took place. The connections she has from years of wedding planning is invaluable and led to the best vendor team for the big day. Julie always made sure to check-in on me and ask if I had any concerns (rarely did). Hiring Julie allowed me to truly enjoy the wedding process and gave me SUCH peace of mind that everything would be executed flawlessly. Fast forward to the big day and it was nothing short of excellent. Unfortunately, it ended up raining but Julie handled all coordination to ensure I got my outdoor pictures! I cannot thank Julie enough and I hope everyone who reads this review makes a consultation appointment with her!

    Best wedding planner!

    Hiring Julie was the best decision I made! You never realize how much detail goes into planning a wedding until you start. Julie helped me plan and design my dream wedding. One that everyone is still raving about months later. I had so many design ideas and Julie was there to help execute them to a tee! She went above and beyond by having her husband customize a beer & champagne wall for my cocktail hour and a gorgeous greenery wall for my reception/photobooth space! Months leading up to my wedding Julie was the point person for all vendors and I can’t stress how helpful it was! I’m the biggest stress case and she was able to set my mind at ease. Days leading up to my wedding, Julie had a slight back injury and it DID NOT stop her from running a smooth rehearsal and wedding. I swear she’s Wonder Woman! If anything did happen behind the scenes I wouldn’t even know because she takes charge and makes sure you can be present for your special day. Honestly, what planner extends your cocktail hour for you because you’re running late??? Julie….Hire her, you won’t regret it!

    The best wedding planner!

    We had the pleasure of working with Julie Riley at Something Bleu for our December 2022 wedding at The Newbury and we truly cannot recommend Julie enough. Any couple reading this should immediately reach out to Julie to see if she’s available for your wedding—she is just that great! Julie is super experienced, has tremendous industry knowledge, and was fantastic at every step of our planning process: from sourcing vendors and attending vendor meetings with us, to guiding us through food and beverage selections, to the aesthetics design of our ceremony and reception, to working with the venue at every step of the way, and much, much more. On the day of our wedding, Julie and her assistant Mallory were absolutely incredible. They attended to everything--from the big tasks, like vendor load-ins and set-up, to the tiny details, like holding my lip gloss or grabbing waters for the bridal party during photos--in a way that allowed us (and our families and bridal party) to relax and enjoy the day with no stress. Aside from being superbly competent and skilled at her job, Julie is also a caring person who we genuinely enjoyed getting to know over the past several months! Julie has a great sense of humor and was also a calming force for us during the planning process. Perhaps the best testament to how impressed we were with Julie is the fact that, after hearing us rave about our experience with Julie over the past year, my sister and her fiancé decided to hire Julie for their upcoming fall wedding!     Wedding planner of dreams!

    We hired Julie about 6 months before our wedding, because we realized we were in way over our heads. We booked her for the partial planning package, and even though she officially started 8 weeks before the wedding, she sent over some questionnaires for us to fill out ahead of time that were immensely helpful, as they prepared information for our other vendors as well. Julie was exactly what we needed. She reminded us of little details we might need, and when we might need them. She organized all of our day-of items. She created a custom timeline for us and sent to all of our vendors, so I didn't have to coordinate with those other vendors, which was easily one of the best things she did for us. She was available for all of my crazy questions, and when the day came, I knew there wasn't a single thing I needed to worry about. My husband and I couldn't be happier to have hired Julie when we did, and would highly recommend her for a perfect wedding day. I only wish I had hired her earlier!

    An incredible asset to my daughter's wedding!

    From start to finish, Julie of Something Bleu was an incredible help throughout the planning process for my daughter's wedding. She made us instantly feel at ease and her positive, can-do attitude was so helpful and very much appreciated. She graciously navigated any bumps in the road and seamlessly orchestrated the wedding day which was a beautiful and personal celebration for my daughter and our family.     Definitely one of the best decisions we made!

    Julie was great to work with from the beginning: straightforward, practical, and bringing her in early really paid off in the last couple months when all the little detail questions started to hit. Thanks to her work coordinating all vendors (even a late addition we hadn't initially planned for, who was a little tough to work with) so thoroughly in advance, we had a beautiful, absolutely carefree wedding day, when we were able to just focus on each other and our guests! (Despite a last-minute obstacle, which she handled INCREDIBLY professionally and swiftly!) She dealt with ensuring everyone on our vendor team was insured, vaccinated, understood what we were going for, and showed up when needed - as busy as the last month felt, I knew with her I wouldn't have to lift a finger regarding all the vendors. She really worked to understand my priorities and helped me balance staying involved and making all the fun decisions that go into the wedding day, while not allowing the planning to completely take over my life.     Julie is an Organizational and Design Powerhouse


    Wedding planning is a remarkably complicated management task. It requires a wide range of skills -- attention to detail, vendor and stakeholder management, financial planning, and a keen design sense. Julie has these in spades. If you are planning a wedding in New England we highly recommend Julie. She was simply a pleasure to work with. Our wedding was amazing – it was fun and beautiful and low-stress. It was exactly what we wanted and exactly what we envisioned. Julie pulled it off beautifully and working with her for months through the process was a whole lot of fun. We are so glad we found Julie – she is a pro and a pleasure to work with.

    Julie was always available to work with us on our schedule. She made time on nights and weekends. She would always take our calls or answer our texts. Somehow, despite her busy schedule, she made us feel as though we we were her only clients.

    There are three stages to wedding planning – the design/planning stage, the home stretch, and the actual wedding day. Julie was brilliant in all three stages. Here’s why:

    I. The Planning Stage

    We were immediately struck by Julie’s attention to detail, her range of connections in the industry and her knowledge of the process. Julie knew the questions to ask us so that she could help us design and plan the perfect wedding.

    Julie was able to connect us to a range of wonderful vendors that fit our style, vision, and budget. She sat on every call, knew what questions to ask the vendors (and what questions to ask us) and went through every contract we signed. I am a lawyer and I was incredibly impressed with Julie’s ability to drill down on key contract terms and ask the right questions of each vendor.

    Her organizational spreadsheet was incredible. It kept us on task and on budget. We probably needed more management than most, and Julie managed us beautifully.

    Julie is much more than an organizational powerhouse. We thought she was an excellent designer. She did a beautiful job with our mood board and had so many fun design ideas that we would never have thought of ourselves. She was indispensable in helping pick our table design and florals. She has loads of experience and design sense. It shows.


    II. The Final Stretch

    Julie really shined down the stretch. When vendors were being difficult she just handled them. She worked with us and all our vendors to create the perfect timeline so that everything would go exactly according to plan (it did). She coordinated with everyone. She made what could have been a stressful time a lot of fun

    III. The Wedding Day

    The wedding day went perfectly, in large part due to Julie. She coordinated everything and did all the behind the scenes work so our day was stress free and perfect. Because of Julie’s hard work there were no surprises. There was nothing to stress about.

    If we could give 6 stars, we would

    It feels impossible to write a review for Julie that can adequately describe our gratitude for her. The best way to characterize her role would be to call her the conductor of our wedding. She guided us through the 18+ month process with expertise and professionalism, but also with creativity, flexibility and warmth.

    As is likely true for most people planning their weddings, a lot of “life stuff” happened in the months between booking venue and the big day. Julie helped us prioritize urgent vs non-urgent tasks and allowed us to direct our energy towards only the most critical things when it was in short supply. When our lives slowed down, she was there to chat with us for hours about our vision and always had great ideas on how to bring it to life.

    I addition to her personal skills, Julie’s relationships with other vendors were critical for us. She found our DJ, photographer and florist (among other vendors), all of whom were incredibly talented and within our budget. I don't think that it would be a stretch to say that she assembled a Dream Team. This is not something that we thought a lot about when starting to plan, but by the wedding day it was clearly a very critical component for success.

    We should say that our wedding was literally perfect in every way, in large part because Julie orchestrated the event with grace and skill. By the end of the process, she felt more like a friend than a vendor. Were we to do it all again, Julie would be our first call!! We feel so lucky to have found her and would recommend her to every couple looking for a planner.

    Best Decision We Made!

    It's hard to put into words how grateful we are to have worked with Julie. In the beginning of the wedding process, we were overwhelmed and didn't know where to begin. From the first day we met Julie, the wedding planning got a whole lot easier. From the first day working with Julie, to our wedding day, we felt as if we were the only wedding she was planning. That's how personal, and organized Julie is.

    We always say "the best decision we ever made was hiring Julie". Not only is she kind and patient but the relationships she has with vendors are priceless. There were more wedding's this year than ever before and it felt nearly impossible to find vendors who we loved AND had our available date. Julie made sure we had all the necessary information to move quickly, and a list of other vendors as a backup. Julie's communication skills and attention to detail are immeasurable. Her weekly emails helped us stay organized, and on top of necessary payments, updates on budgeting, where we could splurge a bit, where we could save etc. If I could hire Julie to run my day to day life, I would lol


    We did not have the easiest time with our wedding venue in terms of their process or communication. Julie advocated for us, dug into the details, asked the hard questions, had some difficult conversations and assured us that no matter what, it would run smoothly. Our wedding day could not have gone better. Julie and her team were absolute rockstars.

    Could not more highly recommend SomethingBleu

    Words are insufficient to describe how impressed and appreciative we are of the truly exceptional job Julie Riley did as our two-month planner and day-of coordinator.
    After months of handling the planning myself, with much frustration and disappointment, it was hard to believe that anyone would come in and pull everything together. I was so glad to be proven wrong.
    From our first meeting to begin the two-month coverage, I could see how organized, knowledgeable, and experienced Julie was. She quickly not only gained, but truly earned my trust, showing she would go above and beyond in ensuring we had the very best experience possible. All tasks were handled quickly and expertly, and always to my wishes. Not only was the work done well and right, but with a level of thoughtfulness that made me feel like I was her only client, though I knew she had many others to juggle.
    When it was time for the wedding, Julie handled every aspect of the day with poise, dedication, and expertise. She seemed to be in all places at once, making sure everything ran smoothly despite the many obstacles thrown at her. She not only did her own part, but fixed mistakes on the part of others which would otherwise have been disastrous. Without a doubt, she was the hero of the day, and made sure the wedding was not just wonderful for us, but for all our guests.
    I could not recommend Julie more highly or have better things to say about her, both as a person and a professional. My only regret is not hiring her sooner!

    Hiring Something Bleu for our wedding was our best decision!

    When we first booked our wedding venue and learned it came with an on-site event coordinator, we thought we wouldn't need to hire a separate planner. Then the reality of wedding planning hit us - it's a lot of sending emails, managing vendor communications, and strategic timeline building. None of this was work our on-site coordinator was contracted to help with, and it started to become overwhelming, especially as we planned our wedding from out-of-state and dealing with covid.

    The best decision we made was to book Julie of Something Bleu to essentially 'project manage' the two months leading up to our wedding and be there to support us on the day-of. Knowing she was there to answer questions, create our schedule, and guide us through the decision making process took so much pressure off the final months leading up to the big day. And on the day-of, she was the one who made every detail, big and small, run smoothly. It really was thanks to Julie that my fiancé, our families and I were able to relax and enjoy the day. I can't recommend her enough!

    The ultimate event manager

    We used Julie for the last few months of plan ing and coordination. Julie was absolutely phenomenal and ensured a smooth wedding day from start to finish. We had multiple issues to address the week of the wedding, such as, protests where our photos were scheduled to take place and a road closure where our ceremony was being held. Julie to the rescue! Her attention to detail, time management, and calming nature is truly unmatched. I said multiple times the day of our wedding that I couldn’t imagine not having her as a part of our day. We would use Julie 100 times over! My only regret, not having her plan our entire wedding!

    Julie is Amazing!!!

    We got married in Salem, MA on 8.28.21 in a backyard private estate wedding and hired Julie as our day of coordinator. Julie was fantastic!!! She is extremely knowledgeable and gave us such useful information and recommendations during the planning process. She was so helpful leading up to our big day and took over all the communication with our vendors. She is extremely organized and created the most perfectly detailed timeline of the day. She worked with all our vendors and made sure they knew exactly when to arrive and what to do. We felt so comfortable and at ease the day of our wedding knowing Julie was taking care of everything. She was also so hands on in helping set up all our table arrangements and decorations. We wouldn’t have been able to pull off our wedding day without her. On top of being amazing and a total pro at her profession, she was so sweet and lovely to work with. Definitely recommend!!!

    Amazing services

    Julie was amazing from the beginning and was attentive to every little detail. We decided to ask for her “day of” services with about 2 months left until our wedding due to gradually increasing the amount of items and set up for the big day. Since our first consultation, I knew Julie was the right match for us as she was so kind and up front with the services she offered. As the big day drew nearer, more detailed decorations were added and she brought in her assistant Jessica who was amazing on the big day with her skills of setting up and attentiveness to us as a couple. They made sure we were aware of all the little changes throughout the day (including the change in timeline due to transportation being late) and managed to allow the event to go off without a hitch. I highly recommend Julie if you need any type of coordinator, whether a full planner or day of coordinator!

    Amazing planner!!

    I really don’t even know where to begin with how fantastic Julie was at helping execute my dream wedding! We essentially had to build it from the ground up which meant that she coordinated with SO many vendors to keep everything together. There were so many times my mom and I would think of something to ask a specific vendor and when we contacted Julie, she was already several steps ahead of us! There is absolutely no way any of us could have enjoyed the wedding the way we did without Julie working tirelessly in the previous months and especially the weeks, days and hours leading up to the event (I’m talking like 18 hours per day)! She even helped me do a lightening fast change into my second dress just so I could get more dancing time! My advice to any bride is to trust that Julie’s above and beyond attention to detail will result in your wedding dreams coming true so you can sit back and soak up your magical day! Truly do not know how we could have done it without her! She’s stored in my phone as “Stress- reliever in chief” hopefully that gives you an idea of what she accomplished for me and my family!

    A lovely coordinator for your dream day!!

    I recently worked with Julie on a backyard intimate wedding on Cape Cod (as a photographer) - and let me tell you what a pleasure it was!! Julie had everything completed in a timely manner (and by everything I mean emails, timelines, setup, etc.), backup plans, and a vision that completely transformed the backyard into a dreamy elegant garden party for our client. She was so great & easy to work with, and the day ran smoothly solely because of her. Something Bleu is already on my recommended vendor list for all my future clients because she is just THAT. DANG. GOOD.

    Something Bleu made my wedding possible

    Julie was a life / wedding saver. She stepped in about a month from the wedding. She picked right up going over all of our contracts, contacting vendors to get more information, scheduling multiple calls and a site visit with us to get aligned with what we wanted, needed, and what we had. Her communication and professionalism is incredible. I always felt like her only client, even though I knew she was managing multiple jobs at the same time. She made me feel confident that we were in good shape and had thought of everything. She has a ton of resources for preparation lists, tipping guides, and just experience and guidance that she can provide. The day of the wedding, I was able to relax and get prepped with no interruptions or issues. Julie handled all of the issues with the designated individuals to ensure that our day was seamless and stress free. I didn’t know about anything until after. After the ceremony, she was a dream, always there when I needed water, a drink, to find someone, to follow up on something, or even to sew back on my bustle. While a lot of amazing vendors went into planning the day, it was Julie who brought it all together and delivered us the most perfect day. Seriously, you need her. You will not be disappointed with the experience and it will ensure that you have the most perfect day like I did.

    We would have been lost without Somethingbleu!!!

    We absolutely loved working with Julie! She is so warm and friendly and we would have been lost without her! We decided to have our wedding about 10 weeks before our date and from the minute we found Julie it was evident we needed her help! Julie was willing to help with anything we needed and she was a wonderful person to bounce off ideas. Her organization made our day seamless and we never needed to think of anything. Julie is incredibly organized and is a great communicator. We were able to have a wonderful day because Julie had everything under control.     The BEST Wedding Planner

    As a wedding planner myself, I knew I would need help executing my own wedding day. As soon as I met Julie, from Something Bleu Weddings & Events, I knew no one else would compare! From the minute we started working together, Julie was meticulous, thoughtful, and reassuring - I had nothing but confidence in her to bring our special day together, and she delivered absolute perfection! We hosted a 200-guest wedding, with lots of curated, personalized details, and a large wedding party - Julie managed it all with ease and grace. As soon as she arrived in the morning to our chaotic suite with 13 people getting hair & makeup done, she calmed the storm. She flawlessly styled our details, to make sure we had photos of all the important stationery and momentos, on top of managing the timing, wedding party, and all of the ceremony prep that had to occur in a very short window of time. She was able to seamlessly wrangle our large wedding party at our ceremony, and took care of details that I hadn’t even thought of (like making sure our extra ceremony items made it back to our reception venue). When we made it to our reception site, everything was absolutely perfect - she styled all of our personalized items, including putting together our 7’ x 10’ escort board exactly how we envisioned it. During our reception, Julie was by my side for whatever we needed, including helping me into and out of various outfits & shoes! She managed the timing of the reception, and even though we were running behind at one point, she seamlessly worked with our vendor team to make sure everything got back on track, all while reassuring us along the way. I cannot recommend Julie enough, as a fellow planner and now, a former bride. If you are looking for someone to flawlessly plan and execute your event, she’s the one you want by your side!

    Excellent Event Planner

    Julie from Something Bleu Wedding & Event Planning helped me plan my company's corporate holiday parties from 2015 to 2018. As the Office Manager to a small startup tech company I was in charge of planning the yearly holiday parties, but as the company grew and we needed to move the parties to a venue and not at an employee's home I needed some help! In 2015 Julie coordinated a holiday party at the Barn at Gibbet Hill. We had a raffle and large indoor games to play, everyone loved it! In 2016 Julie coordinated the holiday party at Willowdale Estate and did a fantastic job helping stay on track with the budget. In 2017 & 2018 she coordinated the holiday party at Tupper Manor which quickly became a favorite holiday party venue amongst our employees and the location was great. Her knowledge of the venues was impressive and she offered creative ideas on how to maximize our budget for the parties. The company had new management in 2019, otherwise I would have continued to work with Julie for our annual holiday parties moving forward. Julie is detail oriented, highly organized, and very kind to work with. I would highly recommend her to help plan your event or wedding!

    Great Wedding!

    My best friend shifted gears on her wedding plans due to covid and decided to have an intimate wedding within 3 weeks notice at an airbnb rental property. I knew she needed help so I reached out to Julie from Something Bleu and used her Consulting services. Julie was able to coordinate a photographer in my friends budget and style and hair and makeup artist within 3 weeks of the wedding. Her vendor recommendations were great! My friend ended up hiring Julie 2 weeks out from her wedding date for Day of Wedding Coordination and as a guest at the wedding I can say that Julie did a fantastic job stepping in with 2 weeks notice. She was very attentive to all of the details, helped keep the day flowing smoothly with the photographer and caterer and made sure the guest tables under the tent were set up perfectly. I would highly recommend Julie to help plan your wedding!

    Julie saved us

    We could not have handled our 120 guest backyard wedding without Julie. If you are on the fence about whether to hire her, it will be the best money you spend on your wedding or other event. I wanted to be guest at our daughter's wedding held at our home. On the day of the wedding, I was a wreck until she arrived and took over. Julie was so calm and professional; I just left everything in her hands for the rest of the day. It was perfect.

    We are so glad we decided to work with Julie! My husband and I lived in two different states across the country while planning for our wedding in New England. Julie's recommendations and insights were key when picking everything from our venue to the decorations.     Amazing coordinator for our backyard wedding!

    We held our wedding in the backyard of my parents house in Framingham. We were dead set on this location, but it meant that we had to be in charge of every little detail including bathrooms, catering, decorations, tents, anything you can think of! We hired Julie as our day of coordinator because we were feeling overwhelmed with all of the moving parts and little details. Julie was extremely professional and competent from the beginning! From her first phone call through the end of the wedding, we always felt like we were in good hands. She did a great job keeping track of all our vendors, making phone calls and emails the week of, and helping with the entire set up of the wedding, including implementing all the decorations and little details. One thing I really appreciated about Julie was how on the day of, whenever there decisions or issues to address, she would come to me with multiple concrete solutions, and all I had to do was pick one. My husband and I were able to enjoy our wedding to the fullest, and we wouldn’t have been able to without Julie’s help! She was also much more affordable than other coordinators we looked into, but still provided every bit of help we needed!! Highly recommend!

    Excellent day-of services

    I planned a backyard wedding at my parents' house, and Julie's help was crucial in having such an amazing day. She helped us organize the flow and layout of the yard and the day ahead of time, quickly answering any (long or short) emails thoroughly. On the day of my wedding, she arrived, briefly checked in with my mother and me about the specifics of what we had agreed to, and then got straight to work setting up our tables and decorations without any further questions. She appeared exactly when needed to help facilitate the ceremony timing, and blended seamlessly into the background during all other moments, organizing and taking care of anything that needed to be handled.
    A wedding goes by so quickly, and having Julie around allowed my mother, the host, to focus on greeting old friends and walking me down the aisle, rather than greeting vendors or fetching last-minute needs. Julie Riley is well organized, experienced, and very knowledgeable about all aspects of all types of weddings. I would highly recommend her service to any bride, and especially any bride hosting a backyard wedding.

    Above & Beyond Day-of-Wedding Coordination

    Day of Coordinators are the silent unsung heroes of the wedding day. As a fellow wedding vendor I always encourage brides to have one if they don't already have a full planner or coordinator. So when it came to my own wedding day I knew I needed a day of coordinator to relieve any day of pressures and keep everything running smoothly. I can't even begin to describe how happy I am that I connected with Julie.
    From our initial conversation I could tell how organized and detail-focused she was. It was also clear that she had a passion for planning and coordinating. She brought up so many great points and reminders that I didn't even think about! And as a fellow wedding vendor I thought I had this on lock haha.
    Her communication through the whole process was incredibly professional, reassuring, and kind. When it came to the actual wedding day it was such an incredible relief to not worry about setup and logistics. Instead I could focus on marrying the love of my life and celebrating with my friends. I chose to have my wedding at a venue where I knew that I could bring in all my own vendors I wanted from catering to alcohol to decor. Julie made sure that each vendor knew the correct timeline for deliveries and helped to make sure everything was in place. She even set up the sweetheart table and table decor!
    And while Julie did an outstanding job coordinating the day and making sure everything ran smoothly, I will be forever grateful for her kindness and genuine willingness to make sure that my husband and I had nothing to worry about. My father has some mobility issues and specific health needs and Julie made sure that my parents were comfortable. Even making sure that my dad got to the reception hall first to make sure he could comfortably access anything he needed. She also checked in on my parents throughout the night to make sure they had everything they were ok. We also had our dog be part of our wedding and Julie checked up on her during the reception a few times making sure she got a few walks and extra attention.
    My husband and I are forever grateful for the part Julie played in making our day as fun and easy as it was. If you are looking for someone that you can trust with your wedding day, Julie is IT.

    Julie is just absolutely wonderful to work with! She is sweet, attentive, responsive and very accommodating. We hired her as our Day of Wedding Coordinator and very happy we did. She took the time to listen to all the details at one month out and one week prior to the wedding day. She contacted all vendors and kept them in check the wedding week. Our wedding day needed a point person to manage the tight timeline as it involved getting the chapel ready for ceremony right after an afternoon Mass, decorating reception venue, as well as getting the Bridal Party to the ceremony right on time while also working with many other vendors with their own timelines. In the end everything went smoothly and all our guests had a grand time. All thanks to Julie who I highly recommend!

    Julie and her assistant were an absolute pleasure to work with. From all her work behind the scenes to her day of services, Julie did not disappoint. She kept our wedding day moving and most importantly organized. Julie worked extremely well with all of our vendors, especially our venue coordinator. She kept the communication following and made sure everyone followed the timeline which was a huge request of mine. I did not want to be late! I also had a lot of decorations and she executed my vision flawlessly. Overall, working with Julie was a great experience from start to finish and I would highly recommend her!

    Julie coordinated with vendors, helped our reception look gorgeous (we had extra flowers so she placed them all around the space), and made sure guests stayed dry when it unexpectedly rained, using an umbrella to help people stay dry as they shuffled to and from the food station and bar!     Where do I even begin?
    We had a coordinator at our reception venue, but were specifically looking for a day of coordinator who could help us with all of the logistics of getting our families and bridal party to our church ceremony and taking care of logistics to get our guests across town to the reception.
    We initially had a tough time finding a coordinator who could help us with exactly what we needed (without all the extra stuff we knew we didn’t need help with!)-but as soon as we talked with Julie, we knew that all of our wedding day plans were in good hands!

    Julie was SO responsive over the phone, sent us a ton of resources and checklists to help us get organized before she took over confirming final logistics in the weeks before our wedding.
    She and Jessica honestly made every happen so perfectly and seamlessly on the day of the wedding that I almost forgot there were logistics!!
    Our families and guests got to where they needed to be (without a single hiccup!), all of our vendors arrived on time, and Julie and Jessica did an amazing job of handling day-of details so we could simply enjoy our big day. (We had so much fun getting to know them!) They meshed so well with our coordinator at our venue and with our other vendors which was so appreciated.
    We are beyond lucky we found Julie-she is such a gem and helped make our wedding day perfect!!!

    Julie Jensen was an absolute pleasure to work with! I couldn’t have asked for more. As expected, there are always a few snags somewhere and unfortunately for me it involved one of my vendors. This vendor was surprisingly rude in some of our interactions while trying to handle the problem that arose and Julie was right there by my side to help me confront this problem. She took the reigns and helped to assure me everything would be ok when I needed it the most. Aside from my snag she helped bring my vision to the most beautiful reality! My wedding day was perfect and with her assistance everything transitioned seamlessly. I highly recommend her and would use her services again in a heartbeat!

    Julie was our day of coordinator for our May 2017 wedding. First of all I have to say it is a real challenge locating a day of planner who is truly that alone. I found many "day of" planners really want to be involved the whole month prior and the cost then increases dramatically.
    Julie was a total blessing. She took over on the day of when we couldn't be there to set up. She was exactly what we needed. She was easy to contact, to ask questions, and gave us her honest thoughts. We completely trusted her feedback and she never guided us wrong.
    We paid the extra hourly fee to bring her out to our wedding reception site and she helped us plan out the table settings. We we were working with a truly unique space. It really set our minds at ease that she saw the space and knew how to set it up on the big day.
    Our guests really enjoyed Julie, she kept our evening running smoothly, kept me hydrated, and figured out my bustle for me. She is truly the best and wouldn't have trusted anyone else for our wedding.

    Ladies and gents, Julie was beyond amazing. I helped her set up the tables and decor of the wedding I went to and not only was she friendly, organized and direct, she helped me fix a dress malfunction and you never saw her without a smiling face.     We hired Julie for our Daughter’s September 17 wedding and her “Day of Wedding Coordinator Services”, and were extremely satisfied with her professional services.

    Our Daughter and her Fiancé rented a 5-bedroom house on a picturesque lake in Westminster to host their outdoor wedding. They wanted a relaxed family party vibe, with no full service caterer, no servers or bartenders, and no DJ.

    As a former wedding consultant, I knew that I could not be both an impartial consultant and the Mother-of-the-Bride. We searched the area, found Something Bleu, and after chatting with Julie briefly, realized that she would be perfect for our daughter’s wedding.

    Julie reviewed our Daughter’s final to-do lists, and believe it or not, day-of event Gantt charts. She met everyone the evening before the wedding to supervise the ceremony rehearsal and review the reception. The next morning she arrived early and worked with family and friends to set the tables, place flowers and decorations, and sign off on food delivery. More importantly, she was at all times was our eyes and ears behind the scenes and kept everything flowing seamlessly throughout the day.

    Julie’s assistance was absolutely essential in making the day the huge success that it was. Her special touches and suggestions were most welcome, and I highly recommend her.

    Julie of Something Bleu Wedding & Event Planning saved our entire wedding day in simple and grand measures. She was our Day of Event Wedding Coordinator (Director) and she was SO helpful to us. Beyond measureable if we reflect more on it! From keeping us on schedule, to helping direct wedding guests from shuttle buses to the church and then at the reception from outside to the indoor reception rooms with A.C., she commanded an audience. Julie teamed with the Sales Director at our reception, along with our 2 photographers and 2 videographers. Julie saved my first wedding dress' bustle and my Groom, our wedding party and me are eternally grateful for that!     Julie was a great day-of coordinator. I think that especially if you are doing something like having your own venue with a lot of people (like a backyard wedding), you'd be crazy not to hire her. I was able to enjoy my day and know that there was someone there to handle our every need and making sure everything was going well. Her prices were very reasonable, as well.

    Julie at Something Bleu Wedding and Event Planning assisted me with my beach-themed wedding in June 2014. Throughout the process, she was there with creative ideas and suggestions that fit my budget! She created starfish for me that were used as part of our centerpieces, and took time to help me organize and assemble all of our wedding favors! She also has connections throughout the industry and sent along great recommendations for vendors, always with our budget in mind. She is friendly, open to ideas and suggestions, and extremely responsive. Whenever I got stuck on something, I reached out to Julie and she always had plenty of ideas for me! I definitely enjoyed brainstorming and bouncing ideas back and forth with her! Because of Julie's help and creativity, we ended up with the perfect wedding!     Let me start by saying I had no original intention of using a wedding planner. I'm type A and love to plan events. When you start planning a wedding, reality sets in. There are SO many details and vendors and guests to keep track of that you can't even imagine until the time comes. Julie of Something Bleu was the glue that put everything together. She reviewed all the contracts my vendors sent me and helped me communicate with them as well as with the coordinator at the venue (he was NOT easy to work with). The day of your wedding goes by so fast. There simply aren't enough hours in a day to coordinate everyone, set up the decorations, field phone calls and any last minute problems, get ready and enjoy yourself. My wedding day was perfect and I truly feel it wouldn't have been the same without Julie. She communicated with me and my husband going back and forth as we were getting ready separately. The coordinator at the venue is simply in charge of the details at the venue. Julie made sure everyone was on the same page and that everything was just how I wanted it. Her help was invaluable! My husband and I HIGHLY recommend her!!

    I hired Julie to plan, organize and execute a surprise, outdoor 51st birthday party for my wife Lori at our home. I wanted to go "all out" as I was not able to do a party for her 50th and I was making up for it. I gave Julie full responsibility with some basic guidance on a theme and a long list of names, emails and phone numbers of potential guests. Julie went right to work with a beautifully created electronic invitation sent to over 100 guests two months before the party. She continued to monitor and follow up on the RSVPs every week or so until the day of the party. She immediately arranged for and made reservations for large tents, a special caterer, theme items and all the little things that make a surprise birthday party special. Details matter to Julie and she payed attention to them, constantly monitoring the status of all the moving parts coming together. On the day of the party, Julie had quite the task. While I was able to get my wife out of the house and keep her away from it from 10 am until the party started at 6 pm, Julie arranged for everything to come together in our backyard in that short period of time. Large tents, tables, chairs, decorations, workers, food, birthday cake, themed items etc. all had to appear and be set up in our backyard during that time. No vendor could come earlier or the surprise would be blown and no one could be late as the party started at 6 pm. All the guests - approximately 100 of them - had to show up on time to sing happy birthday when we arrived. The logistics and timing had to be perfect with a lot of moving parts. Suffice it to say, when I brought my wife back to our house at 6 pm, all 100 or so guests were there under tents with a delicious buffet meal ready to be served. Everything was perfect. Nothing had been missed or was out of place. The timing of everything that day was impeccable. I owe it all to Julie and her amazing organizational skills and talent. This woman knows how to plan and throw a party!

    Our wedding day was flawless, thanks to Julie. Before the wedding, she came to the venue with us to meet with the event staff to help coordinate menu, room set up and timeline. She offered great suggestions (things I never would have thought of; we took her suggestions) and was always available if we had questions. Julie has great ideas.

    She contacted the other vendors to ascertain time-frames (for cake delivery, DJ set up, flowers, etc) and was invaluable to the event staff the day of the wedding... and to us. The timeline she wrote for us was spot on and she made sure that everyone followed it. She got my step son ready for his toast, coordinated all day of activities (paid people, accepted flower and cake deliveries, etc) and on this boiling hot day always had water available to us and anything else we needed. We have three kids in their twenties and I hope they all get married locally so we can use Julie's services. I really want to have another event just so we can work with her again. Julie's coordinator services were the best investment we made on our wedding day. We would have been ok with no flowers but of we didn't have Julie we would have been lost. Thanks Julie!!

    edited to add: One more thing. Julie's attention to detail is amazing. I wore high heels for the ceremony and pictures then changed into Keds (sneakers). Before the first dance she said I should change into my heels again (for pictures) which I did. I would've looked silly wearing Keds in first dance photo but she is very attuned to what looks good and really takes wonderful care of her brides.

    Julie focuses on being a day of coordinator not a full service event planner, which is exactly what we were looking for -- especially an extra pair of hands to help manage our timeline, act as a sounding board, and make sure everything at our venue got set up. She was a huge help!
