Solarshot Weddings did the most beautiful job capturing one of the most special days my husband and I will ever have. Their kindness and dedication started from the moment we booked with them. I was hesitant to choose the package that included both wedding photos and the wedding video because I didn’t think the video would be necessary but choosing that package was the best decision by far. Because the day goes by so quickly, it’s easy to forget or feel distant from certain parts of the day but the video footage truly helps you relive those most special moments that you will be able to look back on years down the road. Solarshot Weddings are the most authentic and professional companies I have ever hired for photography and videography.
The Solarshot team goes above and beyond to make sure they capture every moment you wish to be captured and even moments you didn’t know you wanted to have captured. From the moments and events before the ceremony to your exit of the wedding/reception.
If I could give Solarshot Weddings more than 5 stars I absolutely would! Book them! You will not regret it! -

Mark Sent on 09/09/2025DO NOT Hire Isaiah Matthews (Solarshot Weddings/Video) - Rip Off Alert
I have known Isaiah since he was very young, as he played youth sports with my son. He and my son remained friends even through college. I was happy to hire him to shoot video of our youngest daughter's wedding and reception. Isaiah did show up and shoot the video, but as of this date he has failed to produce the wedding video (the wedding was in February 2023). I even sent him an external hard drive and asked him to simply send me the raw video files so I could have someone else produce the video. But he won't even do that. Aside from having been cheated, I can't believe that this is the type of person Isaiah has become. What a huge disappointment, Isaiah. I hope you read this and have at least a twinge of guilt. From other reviews, you've done the same thing to other people. Does your mother know the way you have lied to people? Shame, shame, shame to take advantage of anyone, but to do this to your "friends"? Be warned - whether you are planning your own wedding or are a wedding planning professional - stay away from Isaiah Matthews. -

Lisa Sent on 04/28/2025Almost 2 years later, still waiting for my pictures and videos.
We paid Solarshot almost $7,000 to do all the photography and videography for our wedding in October 2023; as of April 2025—MORE THAN ONE AND A HALF YEARS LATER--, we still haven’t received ANY of the video work we paid for, we only have about 60% of the pictures, and we haven’t received ANY of the raw unedited footage we paid extra for.
Solarshot’s prices were higher than other companies we were considering, but we wanted photos and videos that would be as special as the day we were commemorating, so we treated ourselves—a treat that turned out to be a bad trick.
Everything from our initial consultation (we signed a contract and paid 100% upfront [a requirement from Solarshot] about five months ahead of the wedding) to the day-of went fine, so we felt like we were in good hands, and we received our first batch of photos four months after the wedding, which was within the timeline we’d outlined in our contract.
(To be honest, the photo edits weren’t as impressive as I’d anticipated, but at least we got some of our pictures; I was excited to see the rest and to see the videos from our special day.)
However, that was the last time we’ve had any contact with Solarshot or Isaiah J. Matthews, Solarshot’s owner and principal photographer.
We tried for several months to contact Isaiah every way we could: phone calls, text messages, social-media messages, emails, form submissions on his website, multiple certified letters to his business address… he has never responded and has never tried to contact US to deliver the rest of the work. He still owes us about three hours’ worth of pictures, TWO video productions, and access to all the raw pictures and video he shot that day (a service we paid more than $1,000 extra for!).
We went out of our way to be patient and understanding, but Isaiah’s callous disregard for the contract he signed with us, the money he took from us, and the value of our wedding photos and videos is beyond the pale.
My husband even considered that Isaiah was perhaps in bad health or in some kind of trouble, so imagine my shock and disgust when I started researching online and found that he is not only actively working as a photographer, videographer, and producer in the San Antonio community and on social media, but that he has shot several other weddings since ours!
My husband posted a review for Solarshot last year, and another couple saw our review; they told us that he’s doing the same thing to them, so it looks like we aren’t the only people Isaiah is doing this to.
We have elderly relatives who are in poor health, who couldn’t travel to the wedding and whom I fear will never see my wedding video because Isaiah took our confidence in his services and seemingly chose to rip us off instead of honoring his professional obligation.
It breaks my heart to think that he might be putting other families through the same torture. -

Solarshot (Isaiah Matthews) does beautiful work, but that doesn’t mean anything if they don’t actually finish the work they’ve been paid to do.
I hired Solarshot to document my wedding in October of 2023; our contract was for full photo and video coverage for the entire day, and they were to deliver a complete digital photo album, produce two videos, and provide us with all the unedited raw footage, with everything to be completed in six months. We paid them in full five months before the wedding—nearly $7,000!
Four months after the wedding (February 2024), we received about two-thirds of the photos, so we were satisfied that things were on track. Unfortunately, that was the last communication we saw from Solarshot or Matthews.
Since May of 2024-- a month after the deadline outlined in our contract--, I’ve been trying to contact Matthews every way I can: numerous phone calls, voicemails, and text messages to every phone number associated with Solarshot and Matthews; multiple emails to every related email address; messages sent through the ‘contact’ portals on both of Solarshot’s websites; even multiple certified letters to his business mailing address (which is a P.O. box at a mail annex). Despite these efforts, Matthews has not been in contact with me in nearly 10 months.
My initial concern was that he had suffered a health issue or was otherwise indisposed, but I’ve recently discovered that he is still active in the San Antonio area, appearing at events around town and producing new projects—including a wedding from only a few months ago, which has a completed online gallery! Meanwhile, the gallery from my wedding over a year ago sits unfinished, and we still don’t have the video productions or the raw footage we paid for.
So, in addition to dealing with the mental and emotional stress of not being able to enjoy or share the complete memories of our wedding (my wife and I both have ailing family members whom we fear won’t get to see all the photos or any of the videos before they pass away), I’ve been forced to assume the expense of retaining an attorney and am currently pursuing legal action against Matthews and Solarshot.
I’m deeply disappointed and frustrated by what my wife and I are enduring in this situation, and I must urge those considering Solarshot to look elsewhere for a more trustworthy business.
