    Can’t say enough good things!!!🤍

    The entire Social Butterfly team was seriously so incredible to work with! We couldn’t have picked a better team to execute our day so flawlessly. 🤍 Our coordinator, Brittney, was THE BEST!! We were planning all the way from Chicago and she made the process feel a lot less scary and doable, whether it was letting us send boxes straight to her house, or being a source of comfort if she sensed even the tiniest bit of stress. Her and Katie also took SUCH good care of us during the big day that we were genuinely so sad our time with them was over!! Couldn’t recommend them or the entire Social Butterfly team more!! 🫶🏽

    Go with Social Butterfly!!!

    We worked with Brittney as our lead planner! We went with the partial planning option which was perfect. The list of recommended vendors that was provided was so helpful since my husband and I aren’t from the area. Every vendor we chose from their list was flawless. Brittney was AMAZING through the entire process. She went with us to pick out place settings which was so helpful. She is just so sweet and down to earth and I never felt judged for any choices I made or pushed into anything I wasn’t comfortable with. She was quick to answer any questions I had during the planning process. She really went above and beyond on wedding day to make sure everything went perfectly and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Marcie was also amazing during set up making sure everything was done according to our vision. When I first got engaged I didn’t think a planner was necessary, but I’m SO GLAD I had one. It’s the biggest stress reliever and made our wedding day run perfectly. We are so happy we went with Social Butterfly. You won’t be disappointed with these great girls who work hard to make your day spectacular!!

    Created a fairytale!

    Marcie, Taylor, and Shelley were absolutely amazing! Marcie was my lead planner and helped me plan everything. She had great recommendations and answers to all of my questions! Her passion, organization, and knowledge made our wedding a true fairytale. We could not have imagined anything more perfect. I highly recommend Social Butterfly to anyone!!

    Perfection

    We had a wonderful experience working with Marcie and her team! We were an out of town couple doing a destination wedding looking for a team to help make our day perfect and social butterfly events made that happen! Our wedding day wouldn’t have been so special without their services!

    Best Day Ever!

    My husband and I literally had the best day of our lives on our wedding day. I would not change a single thing. Marcie and the team executed everything flawlessly while making sure we always had a smile on our faces. During the planning process Marcie kept us organized and on track, calm, and had a solution for any and everything.     Wonderful and Capable Team!

    I highly recommend Marcie and Social Butterfly Events for wedding planning and day-of coordination. I felt like I was in capable hands the entire wedding planning process! She was responsive, has a great attitude, and provided great advice from years of experience, all of which was beyond helpful as I had soo many questions :) All the vendors we worked with were absolutely incredible and we would recommend them to anybody and everybody. Our wedding day was flawless and completely stress free, which is saying a lot considering Hurricane Ian swept through on our wedding day. Thanks to Marcie and her team handling all the last minute changes, details, and stressors, we were able to completely enjoy our day and not worry about a thing!

    If you're looking for a planner to deliver your dream wedding - you found them, stop looking! Five stars aren't enough for Social Butterfly Events!

    I honestly can't say enough positive things about Social Butterfly Events - Charyl, Marcie and the team were absolutely OUTSTANDING throughout every single step of the planning process and were such a large part in our perfect (literally - PERFECT!!!) day! From day one, I knew in my gut I had to book Social Butterfly because 1. This team came HIGHLY recommended to me 2. Their design portfolio of previous events were UNREAL and 3. They sounded so much FUN and I knew they were going to do everything in their power to match the exact vision my husband and I had, and I must say they delivered!

    The entire process of working with this team exceeded my expectations - from answering EVERY. SINGLE. QUESTION I had (and in a timely manner), to lining up the literal dream team of vendors, to helping guide my overall design to be out of the box but still something I like, to making the WORLDS LONGEST HEAD TABLE work out in the most beautiful way, and everything in between, they were such a joy to work with and I wouldn't have changed one thing.

    Marcie, Charyl and team - I can not say thank you enough! You gave me and Kyle our dream wedding and we are eternally thank you.

    To anyone currently looking for a planner - you found them, stop looking!!! Your planner is hands down one of the most important vendors to book for your wedding day and I promise you will not be disappointed with this team!

    Marcie and Brittney are Amazing!

    I highly recommend Social Butterfly if you're looking for a day of coordinator and any planning help. Marcie was amazing. Her checklists and day of timeline kept us organized leading up to the wedding and allowed us to not worry about ANYTHING on the big day. Special shout out to coordinator Brittney as well, who handled our day of rain situation flawlessly. The Social Butterfly team really made our wedding vision come to life and were a pleasure to work with throughout the whole process.

    Amazinggg x100000

    Planning a wedding during covid-19 is definitely not ideal. However, Charyl helped us so much during the process I do not know what we would have done without her. She gave great insight planning a wedding during this time. We had several vendors cancel due to covid-19, Charyl was on it and found us replacements right away. I have to say the replacement vendors she found were also ON POINT. I told her I wanted our wedding to look like a magazine and boy did she deliver. She knew I was a very visual person and wanted to see pictures of everything. She did just that. She has an eye for design! Social Butterfly events planned us our dream wedding!

    Absolute best choice you can make!

    As someone who had never imagined getting married, starting to plan a wedding seemed beyond overwhelming. When we found Charyl, we knew we were in great hands! From helping us navigate what we did and didn't like/want, to guiding us on where to save and where to spend, Charyl was able to assemble an amazing team that brought our dreams to reality! On the day, she willed-away the rain so we could have an outdoor cocktail hour & sparkler send off. Even our hair & makeup girls comment on how relaxed the entire bridal party is getting ready (my mom included!) - all because we knew Charyl was in full control of everything and we could just enjoy every moment of the day! The process was fun, the big day amazing, so thank you, Charyl!! You're the best!

    Charyl and her team are amazing!!

    If you are on the fence about a planner, Charyl and her team will put your mind at ease!! When I was first planning my wedding, I was hesitant about hiring a wedding planner but another vendor I hired recommended Social Butterfly Events. After my first meeting with Charyl, I knew that I could trust her with my important day. She was so personable and attentive to the style and taste I wanted for my wedding. Every meeting I had with her ended up being so fun! She took the guess work out of all the little details you don't think about when you are focusing on the big stuff for your wedding. My wedding hit one month after hurricane Florence here in Wilmington and I was so thankful to not have my plans affected except for the lack of money expected due to my family out of work. Charyl didn’t skip a beat during this crazy time and helped me cut corners without noticing changes to the over all plan and also made me feel like everything would work out! The two girls on staff to help on the day of were so attentive to my husband and I and they made us feel like we didn’t have to lift a finger for anything, which is how every bride and groom should feel. The day into night ran so smoothly and even gathering our belongings was a breeze for my parents, they pulled up my mom’s car and loaded everything including left over food and cake! I would hire Charyl again in a heartbeat knowing I can trust the event will be perfect and all I have to worry about is having fun!! Can't thank them enough for helping make our day so perfect!

    Do not waste any more time and call Social Butterfly Events now! You will thank me later. The absolute best thing I did for myself and my loved ones leading up to our big day was to have Charyl on our side. She has amazing relationships with vendors, is great at working with your budget to give you what you want within your constraints, and is willing to do anything to bring your dream to life. I cannot recommend Social Butterfly Events enough and would trust Charyl and her team with the most important day of my life time and time again.

    Best choice we made!

    Hiring Charyl was the best choice we made for our wedding! She knows weddings and Wilmington inside and out, and she knows how to put brides and grooms at ease. With every question, and every concern, Charyl had an answer and a solution. We had some last minute hiccups wedding week, but Charyl had a plan in place before I had time to worry, and things turned out even better! If the planning wasn't smooth enough, the actual wedding day was even smoother. Our families didn't have to worry about a single thing the day of the wedding, thanks to Charyl's detailed plan and incredible team. Our wedding will forever be our favorite day, and the knockout details and execution are all thanks to Charyl's incredible planning! All of the wedding perfection aside, Charyl is also an incredible person. She's kind, she's brilliant, she's talented, and she genuinely cares about her clients and her vendors.     Amazing Event Coordinator

    Charyl is the BEST!! She was hilariously funny & made my daughter feel so comfortable about her wedding at Wrightsville Manor. She made it seem effortless & never missed a beat! She handled everything so professionally but with so much charm & character. She kept the day so calm & enjoyable. The best money I spent...Well worth every penny. We love you Charyl❤️❤️❤️

    All you need is love... and Charyl

    Let's be honest, I procrastinated writing this review almost a year, but you know who does not procrastinate?? CHARYL. She is on top of things and never kept me waiting on anything leading up to our wedding day. She is a wonderful person to work with and if you'd like to have an amazing wedding where every little detail is taken care of and all you have to do is show up, get married, and party, hire Charyl. She got along great with our families and made our day magical. She works very efficiently and thinks of every little hiccup that might occur and her main concern is making sure that the bride and groom have the day they are dreaming of. She did a great job navigating the disagreements between my mom and I and did so in such a way that we didn't even know we had a disagreement. Lol. She provided excellent advice based about what I might like and knew me taste and likes/ dislikes better than I knew myself. I was also concerned about the timing of my music walking down the aisle and when my bridesmaids were walking a little slowly she told them to giddy-on-up and the music swelled perfectly as I started walking. I also asked her to pack some tupperware containers with wedding cake for Cale and I to eat after the reception and she cut some big ole' slices for us. Yummy. Teehee. Looking back at my wedding day all I can think about is how loved I felt, how everything flowed so well throughout the day, how Cale and I were taken care of at every turn, and how we were surrounded by the most important people in our lives and celebrating the beginning of a lifetime together. There were no harsh words, no disappointments, and no anxiety to mar the day. And for that, I can thank the good Lord, and Charyl.

    So thankful we had Charyl!

    Our engagement/ wedding day could not have gone any smoother because of Charyl and her team! Charyl went over and beyond putting together our wedding day vision!!     Charyl is Amazing!

    Charyl is an amazing women with a sense of humor. She went beyond the call of duty to make my daughter's wedding a memorable event. My daughter is a creative person with interesting ideas. Charyl never missed a beat and was the main force behind making Hillary's vision come to life. She is connected to every vendor in Wilmington and with a phone call, she gathered the right people who made this wedding magical. She also kept me calm and assured me regularly that we were going to be able to pull this off. And, it was amazing! Simply put, we could not have done this without Charyl. I highly recommend her to everyone but especially to those who are doing a wedding in the Wilmington area and who live in another city. Thank you, Charyl.

    We hired Charyl for Day-Of-Coordinating. She and her team were such a big help - from setting up the reception space, getting last minute touches together, and making sure everything and everyone was right where they needed to be at the right time.

I would share an idea and she took it to the next level to make it even better. My wedding day was more than I ever could have imagined and none of that would have been possible without her.     I started planning my May wedding in October, and my mom and I knew we needed a planner because I was planning a North Carolina wedding from all the way in California! I had a clear vision of what I wanted from the start and Charyl knew every detail that would make it happen - things I would’ve never thought of. I joked towards the end that I didn’t even know what it was all going to look like because I let Charyl handle everything and never worried about it! Florals were a MAJOR part of my day and Charyl made sure that everything was perfect! If a planner is something that you feel is necessary (especially for having a big wedding) I would 10/10 recommend Charyl with Social Butterfly!

    A little late with this review but I used Cheryl for My daughter Kristina’s wedding in September, 2017. I had an amazing experience with Cheryl, she is very knowledgeable in what she does. She was able to provide us with a choice of vendors and on the day of the wedding she made sure to keep us all on schedule without stressing us. She is extremely professional and she did an excellent job and there are not enough words to describe how much appreciation I have for Cheryl for making Kristina’s wedding unforgettable. If you are looking for a wedding coordinator with style, class, professionalism you would choose Cheryl to plan your special day. Thank you again for everything.

    How do I even begin? Honestly, my wedding day was amazing all because of my amazing wedding planner, Charyl. There is no doubt that I am Type A personality. Match that with planning a wedding several states away. Eeeek. Charyl was quick to respond even from the beginning. I worry about things way ahead of time (thanks to the Knot wedding checklist). Charyl was always very patient and more than willing to accommodate us. She scheduled everything for us and met with us on most of our appointments. She provided helpful direction whenever I was in doubt. For example, I found a beautiful bridesmaid dress that was white and gold. Not the typical color that bridesmaids are seen in. I showed Charyl my inspiration and she was inspired too. It feels great when someone gets excited about a small detail just as much as the bride does.

    On the wedding day, we had a couple minor hiccups. First off, my junior bridesmaid/cousin's zipper decided to break. Everyone in the bridal party was freaking out. I simply called Charyl and she came right over and fixed the problem. She has the amazing ability to make you feel calm. She brings a small dose of humor to make sure you are always smiling. Even though she was planning for 2 weddings that day, it felt like she was always accommodating/checking in on me in every way.

    It is obvious that Charyl not only is the best but also works with the best. Since her and the other vendors work so often together, you can certainly see the perks when it all comes together. Everyone simply flows together. They have a plan before there is even a problem.

    There is no doubt in my mind that my wedding day would not have been as amazing if it wasn't for Charyl. It makes a world of a difference when you can tell that someone truly loves their job.

    Charyl was the best part of our wedding from beginning to end besides the end result of getting married. When my husband and I got engaged we had no idea where to start. We knew we wanted to get married in Wilmington since we had our first date there but that also meant a destination wedding since we lived in Charlotte. I researched planners in Wilmington and from our first conversation I knew Charyl was going to be ours. Charyl is such a warm person and really listens to what you say and how you imagine your day to be. She put together all of my vendors for our wedding and set up meetings with each one. She also made sure to be there during the first meeting and that definitely made my husband and I feel good about the whole process because she thought of questions that we forgot to ask. I know most people say planning a wedding is stressful but honestly I enjoyed every moment and 95% of that is because of Charyl Williams. Our wedding day turned out to be immaculate and everything my husband and I envisioned. We still have family and friends talking about our wedding day and how it was the best wedding they've ever been to. If you are looking for a planner I highly recommend Charyl because we not only walked away with a fantastic wedding but we also walked away gaining another friend in Wilmington.

Charyl was fantastic to work with throughout the entire planning process. I trusted Charyl wholeheartedly and every vendor that she recommended. With Charyl's guidance, recommendations, and hard work we had the most beautiful wedding that far exceeded what I envisioned. All night long we had friends and family coming up saying that it was one of the best weddings and that it was so perfectly "us". Charyl gets all the credit for capturing "us" and creating a truly magical day.

    I do not know where to begin. If it was not for Charyl we probably would not have had a wedding. We had a very interesting situation and Charyl knocked it out of the park. From the second I met her I knew that she was our perfect planner. She is super down to earth but has a great business drive. She was the perfect partner for me as I am very type A and she had no problem just checking everything off the to do list.
    We did a custom package that was between day of coordination and planning. I had a vision and Charyl helped me coordinate it all and attend vendor meetings to ensure I was getting everything I needed. We had the entire wedding planned at an outdoor venue that included nothing in minimal time and with minimal stress.
    That is until the week before our wedding when Hurricane Matthew was forecasted to hit us. Again, we had an outdoor tent wedding planned this of course was out of the question. Charyl worked her magic and some how found out the most perfect second location four days before our wedding. We ended up having to push up our wedding day by one day and re-plan and coordinate a new venue. Charyl did not even blink and wouldn't let me stress about it. She somehow was able to get every vendor to move up a day and designed a ceremony location since originally we had no rentals for the garden. To this day I am in complete awe of how great she was. You would have never known the day of all the stress she had that week because it all came together perfectly. If it was not for her I probably would have cancelled my wedding and went to town hall. I will forever be grateful and look forward to planning events with her in the future.

    We Loved working with Charyl. I literally don't think she left any details undone. If she forgot anything, we didn't know about it because she made it happen behind the scenes. Charyl is masterful at making all family members feel important while minimizing stress on the bride and groom. I would definitely recommend social butterfly!

    Charyl Williams saved my sanity! She is brilliant, bubbly and passionate but more importantly has a natural ability to cease any stress. She has a keen eye for décor and details which made the decision process seamless. She is well established in the community. Her long standing relationships and history with vendors made it possible to make anything happen. She goes above and beyond to make your ideas come to fruition for your dream wedding. She is well respected and came highly recommended. She worked with one of my friends whose wedding I was attending. After seeing her in action that day, it was a no brainer. The wedding was perfect and flawless, as was mine. Not only is she professional and passionate, she is hilarious and fun. She makes you feel like you're part of her family.     We are glad to have Charyl as our planner. She made the planning process simple and straightforward. She gave good recommendations on vendors, and helped us validate those that she hasn't worked with before. She also made the wedding day run smoothly, and was quick to act when it started to pour and flood outside during cocktail hour. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves on our wedding day knowing that she was there to take care of the flow and logistics of the event. We couldn't thank her enough!

    I literally could not have asked for a better day-of coordinator and team. Charyl was so pumped on our wedding ideas from the first meeting. She always showed genuine enthusiasm with every detail of the wedding, and always kept it fun! She was a great reminder always that this should not be a stressful process. What she pulled together for our big day was above and beyond our expectations, and was everything we ever wanted, and nothing we didn't. She has incredible knowledge of vendors and venues, and was able to pull together things I could have never thought of for our big day. Needless to day, it was perfect. If we could get remarried again every year, I would choose Charyl and Social Butterfly Events every single time. I would recommend these guys to anyone, hands down. Charyl and her team are some of the most amazing people I have ever met - I practically begged them to be our friends after the wedding!!

    Cheryl & Kaylie literally made all my dreams come true on October 11, 2014. As a little girl I always dreamed of getting married at my grandparents property on the Inter-coastal Waterway. When my mom and I decided we needed help on the planning process, several of my venders (KMI Photography & Party Suppliers) recommended us contacting Social Butterfly events. We called Cheryl that day and she was able to make time in her schedule to meet us. Once I talked to her and told her exactly what I wanted & she made some suggestions herself, it took us very little time to agree that we wanted them to be apart of the wedding planning process. Kaylie was the primary planner and she came to meet us several times at my grandparents house so we could plan it all out. She was very patient as we tossed several ideas around and she took exactly what I said and made it come to life that day. Everyone who attended our wedding said that it was perfect in so many ways and I owe that to Cheryl & Kaylie with Social Butterfly Events.

    Responsiveness: Charyl was always responsive to any and all of our requests (and oh boy, did we have a lot). Another important thing to note is that Charyl just didn’t provide a quick or generic response to our questions or requests; everything was always thought out and extremely thorough.

    Professionalism: Charyl is the ultimate professional and takes her role and responsibilities very seriously. However, she loves to have fun and we certainly shared many laughs throughout the entire planning process. Charyl kept in personal contact with all of our vendors to ensure everyone was on schedule. She was able to make our families feel involved while also keeping them aligned with the goal of fulfilling the BRIDE AND GROOMS vision for the wedding day.

    Value: We initially met a nice lady named Charyl with an extremely engaging personality who was very confident in her wedding planning skills. Over the course of our two year planning process, we ended up getting to know each other quite well. We are beyond satisfied with our decision to go with Social Butterfly Events. We went from a meeting with a stranger to having a lifelong friend. There is no numerical value to that; we define Charyl and Social Butterfly Events as a BLESSING!

    Flexibility: We knew that living in Atlanta, Georgia while planning a wedding in North Carolina would be no easy task. Going through the process alone would have definitely presented many challenges, but with Charyl by our side, we can actually say we had fun planning our big day! Charyl was always flexible and accommodating with our travel schedules.

    Quality of Service: The quality of service we received from Charyl and her team was top notch. Social Butterfly events personifies quality and they will do whatever necessary to ensure that shines through on your big day!

    Where do I even begin?!?! Charyl Williams, owner of Social Butterfly Events, made the wedding planning process not only easy, but so much fun! She is not only AMAZING at her job, but she is an AMAZING person with a a huge heart. To be honest, I thought at the beginning of the planning process that I could do it myself and did not really need a planner. HA! I kind of feel foolish for even thinking that. There are so many things that you don't know to do and Charyl knows everything!     Social Butterfly Events is THE BEST! I was lucky enough to be on site all day on Saturday for hair and makeup and got to see everything from start until finish! My wedding was everything I imagined it would be and more! I received numerous compliments about how gorgeous and perfect everything was! Many guests commented that it looked like something out of a magazine! There were even compliments of how nice the restrooms were!! From the gorgeous chandelier and lighting, to the stunning flowers, breathtaking and delicious cake, tasty food, amazing DJ, my wonderful photographer, and the little details......seriously made this event perfect. Charyl, Kaylie, Stephanie and the whole crew made my day to be the perfect day ever...even when I was running late for the ceremony!! We thank you so much for all of your hard work throughout the planning process and execution of event. It was the best day of my life!

    I am soooooo thankful that we had Charyl as our wedding planner! As soon as we got engaged we knew we wanted to go back to the town we loved/met good ole Wilmington. And I knew who the perfect planner was! She has now been passed first from my Sister in Laws best friend to my sister in law to me!!!! She’s fun, loving, and brilliant. ;) We love her! She knows her stuff let me tell ya! As soon as we sat down and got the overall look for my wedding she went right to town. She knew all the right vendors for me and they were perfect!!! Being in Charlotte and not there in Wilmington I thought this would all be stressful and a lot to take on but Charyl was amazing and handled everything. Piece by piece it came together and was my dream wedding!! I know allot of brides say that but to know the idea of what it might look like and then to really see it on your big day and just be taken back by what you’ve always envisioned. Man! It was absolutely breathtaking and beyond perfect! She nailed it! The day could have not been more perfect and not a single thing went wrong! Our friends and family are still talking about what an amazing wedding/time they had! And I can’t thank Charyl enough for all the hard work she put into making our day perfect/fun/beautiful and all the vendors who helped make it happen as well!!!!

    Charyl of Social Butterfly Events is worth the investment! My (now) Hubby and I live in PA but wanted to have a wedding down south near my parents and could not have pulled off this wedding without her. Charyl helped us with everything from locating vendors, to tackling our indecisiveness, and setting up everything. We managed to come down to NC once during the whole year of planning to decide on a few wedding details. Charyl is highly organized and skilled at wedding planning. She made our wedding a dream come true! It was better than we could have ever imagined!     Our wedding was on August 31st at the Brooklyn Arts Center in Wilmington, NC. I had always imagined eloping and my husband had always wanted to have ALL of his friends and family present. I knew I was in trouble and that I'd need some help.

    Richard from the Brooklyn Arts Center recommended a few different planners in the area. My first meeting with Charyl was so much fun and I knew we would be on the same page. I stopped looking at the wedding as a terrifying, never ending to-do list and more like the Best Day Ever it could be.

    Charyl and I were in touch regularly throughout the planning process. She attended all of the vendor meetings with us to make sure our voices were heard. Some vendors were pushy, and she stood her ground with the things that I really wanted. She was always patient and had great recommendations to fit our personality and style when we were indecisive.

    We had agreed upon a schedule beforehand for the wedding ceremony and reception. On the day-of, she made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the night. When it was time to cut the cake, she found me and tapped me on the shoulder to remind me it was time. She was always fun and never bossy with us. Our families fell in love with her and did not have enough wonderful things to say.

    Charyl is amazing!! My husband (so exciting) and I live in Boston and chose a destination wedding in Wilmington for our big day. I was so nervous about how this would all come together since I was unfamiliar with the area's vendors. We were married at Airlie Gardens which has very strict vendor requirements, etc. Charyl was incredible at recommending all star vendors (caterer, DJ, hair/make-up, party rentals, etc...) who could work within our budget and within the limitations of our gorgeous venue. I shared pictures of what I had envisioned and Charyl and her team delivered above and beyond what I could have dreamed. Not only is Charyl an incredible planner but she's an AWESOME person. She was so fun to work with and made every step of the planning process special. Every vendor we worked with praised Charyl for her beautiful work and fantastic personality.     I don't even know where to start about all of the goodness and amazingness Charyl brought to my year + wedding planning experience! I was originally referred to Charyl by another family friend who was using her for their wedding planning experience. From our very first meeting together I knew that she was an absolute essential to my wedding, and let me tell you...SHE CERTAINLY IS!!! She made the entire, usually stressful, experience completely stressFREE! I never really had a clear mind-set of exactly what I wanted for my wedding day. I knew the colors I wanted and that I wanted a more "modern" themed decor, but as far as that, my Pinterest board was all over the place. She sat down with my husband and I and completely blew me away at every single meeting we had together! She knew when to tell me "Jamie, that wouldn't tie in with the rest of your wedding," or, "Absolutely, that is a perfect idea," and for that, I could not thank her enough! I can only imagine how much chaos my wedding would have been without her! She answered every e-mail, text, and phone call immediately and made me feel like I was the only bride she was working with throughout my entire planning process. (which certainly wasn't the case, she has several brides at once, but makes each one feel 100% important!) I could not have had the most PERFECT wedding without her! My ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception area completely took my breath away when I first glanced at it and I had countless guests telling me how gorgeous of a wedding it was!     Where do I even begin?! I am forever indebted to Charyl and her team at Social Butterfly Events. She made the planning process so fun and stress-free. On our initial phone consultation, I knew instantly that it was a great fit. She understood my vision and really brought it to life. It was almost like she had known me for years! I was blown away with every single idea she had. We received so many compliments on the design and detail at the wedding and reception. And I was constantly in awe in every direction I looked. Not only is Charyl hilarious, bubbly, and creative, she is also calm, which is SO incredibly important for a bride during this crazy time in her life. I always knew everything was under control and didn't need to worry about a thing. Charyl has a great relationship with so many amazing vendors - they respect her and are also friends with her, so they are willing to do anything for her and her clients. I don't live in Wilmington, so when I came to town for vendor meetings, Charyl arranges all the meetings back to back, and all I had to do was show up! If I can give other Wilmington brides one piece of advice, it is to hire Social Butterfly Events! This was the absolute best decision I made for our wedding. Adam and I will truly miss Charyl.     Charyl was such a lifesaver! I started out not thinking we would really need a planner, but I truly don't know how we would have done this without her. She took care of coordinating vendors, rentals, setup, and got us all organized the day of so that everything went smoothly. She made last minute phone calls, set up centerpieces, and made sure everyone was in the right place at the right time.

    If I could go back and do my wedding over again, I would have made Charyl with Social Butterfly Matron of Honor! She was amazing. Words cannot even begin to describe how amazing she was. We had a slight mis-understanding at the last minute with the party supply company and my mother, and within about twenty minutes, Charyl had the problem solved!     We loved working with Social Butterfly Events! My husband and I lived in Oklahoma and wanted our special day on Bald Head Island, NC. Living so far away from our wedding location concerned my husband and I, so we decided that hiring an event coordinator was the best way to go!     We wanted to plan and do everything ourselves. But living two hours away from Wilmington, it quickly became difficult. We looked around and priced a few different planners. But Social Butterfly Events was recommended to us, plus she was the nicest planner we spoke to when initially scouting out a planner. We met with her, we clicked, we liked her, she understood our vision of the reception, and we were ready to roll. Charyl did it all! She brought everything I was envisioning together to make it work, made breathtaking pinwheels and backdrops, made everything run smoothly the whole day. Everything was perfect, and I know without her, it would not have been.

    Social Butterfly was such a pleasure to work with and created the wedding of my dreams! I was very impressed by their professionalism and overall enthusiasm for planning events.     Charyl and her staff are amazing from beginning to end. She recommended some great vendors, set up the venue and decor with perfect attention to detail, contacted all of my vendors even ones I didn't book through her, managed the day of schedule, and was a blast to work with. She has a unique talent for what she does and I cannot tell you how much calmer and more at ease I felt knowing that she was there to handle all of the things that can and inevitably will go wrong on your wedding day. Our wedding day was wonderful and we owe a great deal of that to Charyl!

    Charyl and the entire team at Social Butterfly Events were absolutely wonderful. Since my fiance' and I were not from Wilmington, we were so grateful to have guidance on vendors to use and have help to orchestrate the entire wedding day. From the beginning, Charyl set us up with professional vendors that did a wonderful job. They worked within our budget and created an amazing ceremony and reception site that everyone enjoyed.     Charyl of Social Butterfly Events is an incredible wedding planner. We had the type of wedding where we had to bring in every type of vendor - we loved that we got to choose every detail but it was an incredible amount of work to coordinate everything. Charyl was incredibly skilled at both coordinating, helping me find vendors, and brainstorming solutions. We had a very specific vision and budget, and she made our dream wedding come true. She is hysterical, which helped diffuse my stress, and she always gave me good guidance with the caveat, "It is your wedding, so if you really want this, we will make it happen." She always listened and validated my concerns and wishes. People who attended our wedding said it was one of the best weddings they had ever been too, and some of our vendors even told us, "Weddings just don't get better than this." I really feel that we have Charyl and her staff to thank. Our "Central Park Bicycle Ride" theme went off without a hitch, and it was a magical night. PS Charyl's partner, Heather Ivady, from The Paper Butterfly, did all of our invitations, programs, escort cards, table signs, etc. They were amazing and made our entire theme come to life. Both lovely ladies have incredible personalities and made our wedding planning so much fun. We are so grateful to them!

    Charyl was a dream come true to me! She made my wedding day the best day of my life, and I can not thank her enough! I had absolutely no stress on my wedding day because I knew that she was in charge and she would handle any hiccups and make my wedding day wonderful. She certainly delivered! The wedding space that she created looked better than anything I had envisioned in my dreams! When I walked into the reception space I actually had goosebumps looking around and knowing that this was MY wedding! It was stunning! She helped me find the perfect color combinations, layout, details, and splendor. She was beyond a pleasure to work with - she is friendly creative, hysterically funny, and a true professional at what she does! Her love of weddings shows through in her work! I honestly know that my wedding would not have been as amazing and perfect as it was if it were not for her. I would recommend her to any and every bride looking for an excellent coordinator to make their dream wedding a real and stress free reality!! I met with several planners, but when I sat down at my first meeting with Charyl, at Social Butterfly, there was no question who I would hire. The whole team at Social Butterfly were with me every step of the way! Through every appointment, decision, and the final wedding weekend! After you have gone through the wedding process every bride knows that a wedding is so much more than just a fancy party where you give out free drinks! Social Butterfly provided so much more than just planning. They made the whole process so much fun and the wedding weekend so seamless, I never had to lift a finger!     To say that there was a connection after I met with the Social Butterfly Events team is an understatement….it was more like after 5 minutes, I knew that they were a perfect fit for me and my wedding! I’m not like most brides, I had my venue picked out and even some vendors booked, but I had a vision that I quite couldn’t put into place myself and I knew that the team at SBE would be able to make my vision come to life. I was not disappointed at any point during the process. Charyl and her team were extremely attentive in booking appointments and contacting vendors on my behalf. I was also lucky enough to also get to work with Heather and the Paper Butterfly who designed my unique invitations that received rave reviews from both local and out of town guests. The unique approach with the ability to custom design to fit the theme of my wedding was so much better than using the canned templates at stationery stores. The SBE team also suggested vendors and options for things that I had not yet booked like florals and lighting. The exceptional service that Charyl and the SBE team provided made me feel like I was their only client even though I know they were working with many other brides. I didn’t have to worry about a thing for the rehearsal or the day of, the SBE team took care of it all and I was able to relax and enjoy everything at my wedding. Even with the challenge of a crazy rainstorm, SBE made some last minute adjustments and the event space turned out as perfect as I had imagined. Their attention to detail, event management and design assistance is exceptional!! I’m proud to be a part of the SBE family and I would definitely recommend the SBE team for your most important event!

    Love the ladies of Social Butterfly Events! From the very beginning they were giving me wonderful ideas and helping me with any questions I had. They were always easy to get in touch with and responded promptly. The day of my wedding was amazing. Everything ran so smooth and on time. I even had a guest show up late who said he thought he would be on time because weddings never start on time...mine did! If there were any issues the day of, I didn't know about them. Charyl and Heather handled everything with grace and the utmost professional attitudes. They also made me feel so special, like I was the most beautiful bride they had ever seen :) I would absolutely recommend them and I already have. Thank you for everything ladies!

    Where do I begin to review Charyl and Heather and all that is Social Butterfly Events? Do I start with how these two amazing women custom made haybale covers (for the haybales that I wanted...which they found, procured, and delivered)? Or maybe it'd better to start by commenting on their extensive network of trusted vendors, all of whom took the time to tell me "how awesome" my planners were, and all of whom were willing to bend over backwards to help the Social Butterfly girls and their bride? Perhaps the best route is to begin with how comfortable and cared for Charyl and Heather made my husband and I (and our whole families) feel, from the first phone conversation with Charyl until heather ushered me to the top of the aisle on our wedding day? Any way I go about it, Social Butterfly rocks. They beyond rock. They took our dreams of what we wanted for our wedding-however out-there and vague they were- and made them into an incredible celebration of joy and gratitude that at once honored who we are as wacky individuals, and also radiated with the importance and tradition that should surround any wedding. Working with Charyl and Heather you get the sense that these girls care about your MARRIAGE and not just your WEDDING. Will they get all excited with you when you find the perfect flowers for your bouquet? Heck yes! Are they going to handle business and keep things running PERFECTLY on your big day? Absolutely. Drunk toasters and all. Marc and I consider these ladies great friends, and we'd get married all over again, with these two, in a heartbeat.

    Social Butterfly Events is amazing! They helped me with all my "day of" wedding plans, and I cannot express how much I needed them, and am so glad to have had them. I am a Catering Manager, and thought I could do it all myself. It was like a burden lifted off my shoulders when Charyl and Heather helped me on my wedding day. I didn't have to think about anything on my wedding day other then having a great time, because they did it all for me! If I can give any piece of advice to other brides it would be hire a wedding planner, and hire Social Butterfly Events!

    I would not have changed anything about my wedding. It had the atmosphere and vibe that I had invisioned for my beach wedding, all thanks to Social Butterfly Events. The only advice I can give to future brides is hire a wedding planner!!!! The last thing your wedding should do is cause you stress. The only real stress I ever felt was over the possiabilty of a looming hurricane! I would also tell future brides the I do's are the only thing that is important everything else is just details!

    My wedding was on May 7, 2010.
    The ladies of Social Butterfly were great to work with through the planning process all the way to the big day. They were in regular contact with me, and kept me on track with bride tasks so I wouldnt have so much to do in the last few weeks.

    As far as value, I believe that this service paid for itself. SB offers the experience to steer you away from less-dependable or overpriced vendors, preventing possible catastophies or budget issues. They also saved me a great deal of time on the wedding day confirming vendors and decorating so I was able to have leisurely time with my bridesmaids for fun, memorable moments, rather than nervous preparation.

    On the actual wedding day, the venue was decorated beautifully, all my requests were taken care of, and they were there to remind me of things I wanted to do at the reception while maintaing a low profile.

    Im not sure what happened after the wedding as my family, friends and I were not a part of the clean-up process. I can tell you that I met Charyl a few days later and she had all of my "left behind" belongings! What a saint.

    What sets SB apart from the other planners in Southeastern NC is that they are not rigid or stuffy old-schoolers with a mission to have a cookie-cutter wedding. They work with you to navigate through wedding ettiquette, while ensuring you have the wedding of your dreams either traditional or casual. They truly do understand the modern bride.

    If you need an event planner you can trust to create a beautiful and fun event and take the reigns the day-of so you don’t have to stress, you need to hire SBE! My fiancé and I decided to hire a wedding planner because I was busy finishing law school and he frequently works long hours. Our #1 criteria was to find someone we could trust to point us to great and trustworthy vendors, make sure we didn’t miss anything in the planning process, and essentially take over everything the week of the wedding. We did a lot of research and made several phone calls before picking Charyl at Social Butterfly Events, trusting that she could deliver, and she certainly did.

    Charyl and the rest of the Social Butterfly team helped make our entire wedding week perfect. Charyl recommended excellent vendors (even for the rehearsal dinner, which she didn’t have to do!) and, after we made our selections with our chosen vendors and handled the bills, she took the lead on coordinating with them. Charyl made sure we didn’t forget any of the details like the many rentals necessary at a reception, and she provided plenty of assistance in design decisions while still allowing me to take the lead in developing our wedding style. I stated that the week of the wedding was perfect and not just the wedding itself because we were incredibly busy and needed her to take over that week. Charyl made our lives so much easier by wrapping up all the loose ends and putting the entire wedding together. We didn’t have to stress about anything!

    As for the final product, the wedding was even more beautiful and seamless than we expected. I was quite nervous about the design because I am not a designer but I wanted to style the wedding myself. The Social Butterfly team brought everything together flawlessly both in assembly and in the use of certain SBE rentals that Charyl knew would be the perfect additions to our aesthetic. Charyl kept us on point throughout the ceremony and reception without being overbearing or pushy in the least. My new husband and I—and our wedding party, family, and guests—have been raving about how wonderful the entire wedding was. If you want to have a fun and fabulous event without the stress, you need to hire SBE!

    If you’re wondering about the 4.5 for “Responsiveness”, that is because in the first four or five months of planning (out of 10), response time was sometimes up to a week or a bit more. In our fields that is slow. However, their response time was the same or better than most vendors we worked with, so perhaps response time in the wedding industry is slow relative to other industries.

    Social Butterfly made my wedding day perfect!!! They were always around the answer any questions and listened to everything and said I wanted and made it happen!! It was a pleasure to work with them and I would recommend them to anyone who has a special event that needs planning!!!

    We were so glad that we had Charyl and the rest of the Social Butterfly team as part of our crew for our wedding day! I was nervous about the whole wedding planning process because I didn't have much of a 'vision' of what we might want the wedding to be like going in. From the first time I spoke to Charyl I felt like she was in tune with our desire to keep the wedding planning process as simple and low key as possible. Charyl really helped to guide us through the big decisions and the end result was a wedding day that we felt matched us perfectly. During the wedding weekend itself, Charyl took charge of keeping all our vendors on schedule and we worried about practically nothing but walking down the aisle, saying 'I do', and partying with our friends and family. The only reason I didn't rate Social Butterfly with 5's across the board was because at times it took a while to get a response by email. But really, anytime that was the case was when my wedding date was quite a ways away, so nothing urgent. And after a few months I found that if I ever needed anything to be responded to fast then sending a text message was the best way to reach out and she would get right back to me.

    We had hired Charyl to plan our destination wedding with a Wrightsville Beach ceremony and 128 South in Wilmington as our reception site. We live in California, and had never even step foot in Wilmington, so that’s why we hired her for full planning instead of partial or just day of.
    She is a great day of coordinator and made sure everything ran smoothly despite the Wilmington Trolley breaking down before pick up, and she arranged for a coach bus instead. Her and her staff made sure our rehearsal ran smooth, the ceremony went well, and even picked up our to go pizza at the end of the night for our guests.
    Charyl calmed our fears after hurricane Florence hit and ensured us everything was going to be fine for our wedding.
    Planning a wedding 3,000 miles away is not easy by any means, therefore I did extensive research very early on for vendors in the area and those that were recommended. I ended up contacting and booking majority of the vendors myself, and negotiated the contracts, which was part of the full planning service.
    My only complaint is the one time I traveled to wilmington to see the town, venue, and meet with all the vendors for the first time, and Charyl and her associates were unable to meet with me which was part of the original plan, and I was not told until the night before our scheduled meeting. She did however contact all the vendors and tell them what our vision was and gave them insight on what to discuss during the meetings.
    Overall, Charyl was great and she’s super easy to get along with, we would hire her again for partial planning and/or day of coordinating.

    I hired Social Butterfly to help me in planning my destination wedding. I wanted a planner because I knew that planning a wedding from so far away would not be easy and I thought it would make the planning process less stressful. Unfortunately they added a great deal of stress. After meeting them for the first time a year before the wedding they told us they were going to book the two local trollies in town to ensure we would get them. They never did and when the time came we had to book a charter bus to take guests from the ceremony site to the reception venue. This caused a great deal of extra time, stress, and money. I rarely would get responses from emails I would send them with questions or concerns, even though my contract stated "unlimited calls and meetings" were provided. Because I was so far away, I only needed to meet with them a few times, so I would have thought the few emails I did send during the planning would be answered promptly. Come wedding day, they did a great job of doing everything I wanted. It was the lack of communication throughout the planning process that made this a negative experience for me.

    Working with Charyl was very confusing. I was the MOB, event planner and organizer of our daughter's wedding. We coordinated the entire event from Florida. We hired her to direct the wedding and were given a contract outlining the things she would do. Things started out great. She voluntarily recommended vendors but when we asked questions, lectured us on how she had gone above and beyond by doing so. We had no problem with boundaries and understood from the beginning what we were hiring her to do. We used the photographer that she recommended and had an awful experience with him. She ended up spending a lot of time mediating the situation because he would not respond to us. Once we got that cleared up, she seemed to not want to talk to us and we felt essentially punished for the fact that he caused her to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to get him to respond to our calls and emails. She made it clear that she was not getting paid to handle this situation. We were always reluctant to call after that as we felt so bad about the situation. To be clear, she was in no way responsible for what happened with the photographer. Things went fine for the ceremony rehearsal but she did not want to rehearse the entrances for the reception. Unfortunately, we didn't know in what order to stand and ended up offsides when the bride and groom did their first dance. Our fault, but if we had run through it, we would have been in proper position for the photos. Certainly, the value of a director cannot be understated. We had a series of unfortunate events that were out of both of our hands. Honestly, the only advice that can be given on this is to have mutual understanding of expectations. If recommending vendors is a stretch, then don't do it or have a separate charge. Most of the vendors provided a 'preferred vendor' list anyway. We had a very happy ending with an amazing wedding and found an unbelievable photographer that, in the end, rescued us.

    Didn't work out

    Charyl was not responsive or communicative. Also, did not provide services as promised. We were 6 months out from our reception and nothing had been coordinated. Had no choice but to switch planners. Very disappointed

    Please do your research and do NOT hire Cheryl! I read some of the bad reviews and did not take them seriously enough! The biggest regret I have is hiring her! I am so heart broken to leave this review. Charyl did NOTHING to help plan our wedding. She booked transportation and found us a baker but that is literally it. She was impossible to track down on the phone, would never return phone calls. There was so much communication mix up because of her lack of it. The limo company actually had to track my parents down because he was trying to set up pick up times (two days before the wedding) and Charyl was no where to be found. There was a whole mix up with the seating chart and instead of Charyl attempting to fix it she basically let me know it was my fault and just sat back.OH she did help show us where to cut the cake. The time line she made was a plus and keep us on track was great but she did nothing worth the price she cost. She also promised to have plates of food in our honeymoon suite..nope didnt so we called her to see if she knew where it was and never heard back...4 weeks later and still no word from her. She got her money and left. SAVE YOURSELVES THE MONEY! Find someone who actually cares about YOU!

    Going into our wedding in 2015, we were very excited to have Charyl for our special day. A couple days before the wedding, she notified us that she was no longer going to be there on our day, and instead chose to be the planner for a completely different wedding on the same day as ours, based on the "difficulty" of a different wedding that needed her help. To say that this was disappointing is an understatement. I would not recommend this service to anyone in the area. Charyl is a very nice person, but the lack of professionalism and commitment that was shown frustrated us greatly, and certain aspects of our wedding were lacking because of it. I truly hope that Social Butterfuly can learn from this in the future.

    Please do not let Charyl from Social Butterfly Events work on your wedding. Simply put, my wedding was great despite Charyl, not because of her. A few anecdotes:

    - Leading up to wedding my husband and I had to catch her mistakes multiple times with the caterer and the rental company (she blamed these mistakes on her interns instead of taking responsibility and fixing them)
    - At 4 pm (wedding start time) she was found by the mother of the bride in the kitchen, eating instead of coordinating leading to an incorrect procession and improper seating of guests
    -She was late to the rehearsal (last to arrive and first to leave) and to the venue on the day of
    - She did not assist me with any unloading of the car or opening of boxes despite the rain leading to me being late to get ready
    - She did not bring a box for the cards as promised leading to several gifts being lost
    - And to top it off, she left early. This caused my husband to have to coordinate the shuttles and my car keys were lost in the morning

    But the worst event was when she brought the bartender to me (who didn't want to set up the bar we paid for outside) because of the possibility of rain during the ceremony. I hired a coordinator so that I wouldn't have to have this stern discussion with a vendor while getting my hair done.

    Her performance was completely unacceptable throughout the entire event. Do yourself a favor and please do not hire Charyl. She did her absolute best to do as little as possible leading up and on the day of the wedding. She was by far my worst vendor for the wedding.
