Melissa is a life saver!!! Super professional & incredibly kindhearted. Loved working with her

From the moment I reached out to her the communication was excellent from beginning to end. The day of the wedding she went above and beyond for us. Our wedding was supposed to be outside but it got real windy and started raining during the set-up, my hair was ruined and I had no tools or anything to fix it. I wanted to cry so bad but had to be strong and not also ruin my makeup. Melissa was by my side reassuring me the pictures will still come out good and told me not to worry. She comforted me when she didn’t have to and I am so grateful to her for being so kind. I felt so defeated because of my hair and that made me incredibly vulnerable, but Melissa became my biggest support system. She guided us throughout the whole event and at times I felt as though she was our coordinator as well (I didn’t book one because since we were such a small intimate wedding I thought we didn’t need one, but I was so wrong!) She took charge and reassured me it would turn out fine and it did. The way she directed us and handled everything with such ease, how lucky I was that our photographer Melissa turned out to be incredibly talented and somehow managed to take many awesome shots of us despite my hair fiasco. I will forever be grateful. Thank you Melissa!!!! I recommend everyone to book her for your event. She did an amazing job.

Exceptional

I had my wedding about a month ago, and I cannot recommend this photographer highly enough. She and her husband did an absolutely incredible job capturing the day. The photos were stunning, and they worked quickly and efficiently while still managing to assist with little things, like helping with my dress, which I truly appreciated.

Their experience was evident in the way they guided us effortlessly through each shot, knowing exactly what to do to capture the moments we’ll treasure forever. I was beyond happy with the final results of both the photos and the videos. The videos transported me right back to the day—so beautifully done. They provided multiple edited videos as well as the raw footage, and even offered the opportunity to make edits if needed.

Their service was outstanding—professional, thorough, and thoughtful from start to finish. If you’re looking for a photographer for your wedding or any special event, I wholeheartedly recommend them. For my wedding, they were simply perfect.

Working with Melissa was such a breath of fresh air! As a fellow vendor, it’s always a game-changer when you have a photographer on-site who’s not only incredibly talented but also collaborative, professional, and a joy to work alongside.

Melissa has a calm, confident presence that puts everyone at ease couples, families, guests, and vendors alike. They know how to capture all the right moments while still being totally unobtrusive, and they never miss a beat when it comes to timeline flow or key transitions.

Simply the best!

Melissa and Javier were hands down our best vendor on our wedding day! Not only did our pictures and video turn out absolutely stunning, but they are just the nicest people! They go above and beyond to make the experience comfortable while making sure they capture every little detail and moment. Melissa even went as far as to bustle my dress and she made sure family was organized for pictures so everything flowed effortlessly. We were even ahead of our timeline. She was on top of it all! I still have family and friends coming up to me saying how amazing our photo and video crew was on our wedding day. And we received all of our pictures, thousands of them, within 2 weeks of the wedding while we were on our honeymoon and our video within the month. This is unheard of and I have friends who were shocked how fast turn around was. Not only did we get every picture she took but they were edited too. And we were able to receive the raw footage as well which was so nice to have. I will definitely be using Simply Captivating to capture all our big family life events moving forward! Best wedding photos and videos

I hired Melissa and Javier to capture my wedding and they did not disappoint! From our first video call I felt a connection to them. They were so nice and welcoming and easy to talk to. They were so flexible and understanding with everything I wanted for my wedding. They even went above and beyond when my mom got a cancer diagnosis a couple months before my wedding and they made sure I got photos with her beforehand. These are photos I will cherish forever, and the kindness Melissa and Javier have just radiate when you meet them. Their skills are just as amazing and they make you so comfortable when capturing your event. They are so quick but get the best photos and footage. I am struggling to pick which photos I want to print because they are all just so amazing. I HIGHLY recommend choosing Simply Captivating. They will be my first choice if I have any other event or memories to capture. I can't thank them enough for giving me the best product for my wedding.

Melisa and Javier are the BEST team to work with for your wedding photography and videography!!! I was so happy to be able to work with them after hearing so many wonderful things from friends and family who have worked with them before. They are experienced professionals that worked smoothly with our church and other wedding vendors to make sure our day ran smoothly. As a bride having my mind all over the place the day of her wedding, Melissa made sure everything was taken care of when it came to capturing the perfect moments. Highly Recommend!

I can’t speak highly enough of Melissa and the job she did for our wedding. She truly went above and beyond. From our initial meeting with her we could tell she was extremely organized and focused on what we wanted our photos to look like.

Leading up to the wedding she gave us every opportunity to specify shots or styles we wanted. The whole experience felt so customizable. In addition, Melissa also provided her experience and expertise to ensure us our photos would be fantastic. It was the perfect balance of customizability and guidance.

During the wedding Melissa was almost like an additional wedding coordinator. To some extent she quarterbacked the day for us. She really goes above and beyond in this regard and it gave us confidence that all was going to plan.

Finally, the end product was incredible. We are so happy with our photos and videos. Friends and family are in awe. Even our venue requested the photos to be used in marketing material. Melissa’s pricing is very reasonable especially when compared to others of her caliber in South Florida. I have already and will continue to highly recommend Melissa.

Amazing, you will no regret having this team by your side on your big day!

Melissa and her team were absolutely AMAZING and I can't say that enough. The planning and prep for this big day is extensive and goes on for months before, but it goes by so quickly and your pictures and video is the only thing that truly stays with you. I am overjoyed with our decision to go with Melissa and Javier and the rest of their team. They guided us but were not pushy. They adjusted our hair, poses, and gave us recommendations. A few DAYS before the wedding I texted her to ask if there was any way of adding another photographer (super short notice!), and she made it happen.

When Melissa first arrived to the bridal suite, the first thing she did was ask simple questions that could have caused some ackwardness throughout the day, such as "are your parents together", are we doing pictures with this person?, I noticed that certain robes were different colors- are we doing pictures with them together with your bridesmaides or seperate?" Small details that, in the moment when there is so much going on and so many emotions, you yourself don't think of. I cannot explain how much I appreciated that. It made everything flow so well.

As the day went on I was already so happy with our decision, and I hadn't even seen the pictures. But WOW when they came through (which was in 2 weeks by the way!). We have gorgeous memories and we are so grateful. I would and will recommend Melissa and her team for any events that you may have.

They are reasonably priced, and again, before even seeing our pictures, my husband and I were already agreeing that they were worth every single penny. Not ONCE did we regret our decision. Of course we have posed pictures, but we have so many natural "candid" pictures. And, although of course we were the main focus that day, they also captured so many pictures of our guests having an amazing time!! That was a big deal for me because our guests obviously played a big role on our special day.

Thank you Melissa and the rest of the team, you have given us the ability to look back on our pictures/ video of that day and have us smiling and laughing and we are forever grateful for that.

Amazing team!

Vicky from Captivating Collective is amazing!

Vicky from Captivating Collective is absolutely fantastic! We used Vicky for our engagement and wedding photos. For our engagement session, she was patient and efficient since it was very hot and humid. She even waited while we went back to our house to change outfits, touch up, and dry my hair (that’s how hot it was and how sweaty I got at our first location) before our second outfit/location shoot. We got our pictures back in three days and they were all amazing! I needed some small edits due to some skin blemishes and she quickly fixed them to my liking. For our wedding, her and her husband (second shooter) were a great team. They followed the timeline we created together and made sure to get the important shots I requested. Vicky even helped me bustle my dress after the ceremony since I couldn’t find my bridesmaids at that moment. She did a fast and great job making sure I was taken care of. They got a bunch of amazing shots and most of the time I didn’t even realize they were around. On the dance floor, they did a great job of capturing the fun moments without being intrusive. Vicky got my wedding photos back to me in 3 days and they all looked amazing!!! I highly recommend Captivating Collective and Vicky as your photographer!

Best South Florida Wedding Photographer!

Melissa is just amazing. She is so sweet to work with, makes you feel comfortable, and is creative! It downpoured on my wedding day and she came up with the best ideas to still get some beautiful outdoor shots without ruining my dress. I had my entire album (1000+ pictures) within less than a week of my wedding. They are impeccable, and I can’t wait to display them around my house. She even brought a second shooter without us mentioning it…and those pictures are the cherry on top. Amazing photographer!

Melissa is INCREDIBLE! She is sweet, patient, kind, professional, listens, and most importantly easy to work with. She was both my engagement photo shoot photographer and wedding. Melissa is one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. She is an AMAZING photographer. I just received my wedding photos (over 5000) and my current stressor is picking out my which ones to print because she does not make it easy (too many beautiful pics to choose from) LOL. Not to mention I received my wedding pictures after only ONE WEEK! I love how during the shoots she would quickly show me the pictures on her camera so that I can see how their coming out and how I look in the photos. She makes sure to ask you things like what’s your good side. She gets booked out pretty far out in advance so book her early you will not regret it. Excellent team of photographers

We had to cancel our wedding in Italy and plan a whole new wedding back in our hometown once the COVID-19 pandemic hit. We had one conversation with Melissa from Simply Captivating and knew her and her team had the experience and shooting style we wanted for our wedding. We were affected by closures due to the pandemic and had to reschedule our new wedding date a few times, so Vicky ended up being our photographer for our wedding. Best Photo/Video Team in Miami!

Melissa & Javier are amazing! Working with them for our wedding was so easy and communication was great since day 1. We had 2 separate locations of where my wife and I were getting ready and they made everything look so effortless. Neither of us feel like we are photogenic people and usually feel awkward in front of the camera and they made us feel so comfortable and actually made us look really good!

They were extremely patient with our family members who wanted to take pictures with us when they weren't supposed to and were very polite when they needed to turn people away or ask them to come back at a different time. This is important because when you have a big wedding because your photographers have to enforce the flow and are dealing with your guests directly and they did an amazing job with that. We also got so many awesome candid shots and we didn't even notice them on the dance floor! A lot of times photographers & videographers tend to be in the way or constantly asking for posed shots and everything with Simply Captivating felt so natural and easy.

Everything came out so amazing with a very natural edit, which we LOVE! We highly recommend Simply Captivating for all your photo & video needs & can't wait to work with them again!

Perfect Experience!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Melissa! Not only was our engagement shoot above and beyond our expectations, Melissa was absolutely amazing on our wedding day. I cannot express enough how attentive and professional she was. She made sure my hair and dress were fixed all night and that I looked my best, without me even knowing! One of our favorite things about the day was that she made sure we got a picture with each table during salads at our reception so that we had a picture with all of our guests. So nice to have! She captured every moment - every tear, laugh, and dance move. My guests even noticed how impressive she was. And this was BEFORE the beautiful pictures came back about A WEEK later!! Beyond our expectations!

Melissa is an absolutely amazing person and photographer. Her advice and guidance were perfect and she continuously made sure I was looking my best (hair/dress) in all my pictures. She is meticulous with every single detail. The photographs are completely beautiful and had them to view within 10 days. I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer, both for our engagement and our wedding day. The communication was so easy and all my worries were put to ease by Melissa and her team. I had Melissa as our photographer for our engagement photos and our wedding, and she’s nothing short of an absolutely amazing person. Her advice and guidance have been paramount. My husband is not a person who poses for pictures easily, and she was easily able to make us feel comfortable and natural. She spoke with us in order to catch the shots we want and how the overall day is going to go. She really captures the most important moments, moments that you can show your family for decades to come. Perfectly Captured Memories

At the end of the day, what really stays with you from your wedding are the photos (and video) taken that day - and the photos from Simply Captivating are perfectly captured memories of our special day. First of all, the initial meeting process with Melissa was fantastic. She was really kind and took the time to really explain the whole process to me. Leading up to the wedding, she did a great job of answering all of my questions. She also was great about getting everything organized and making sure we got together a list of special photos we wanted. On the day of the wedding, Melissa did an excellent job making sure we got all the special shots we wanted, and helping us get absolutely incredible photos at the church and venue. Melissa was great at coordinating all of the members in our group to make sure everyone looked their best and everything flowed well in terms of timing. She was really good at just making sure everything went well for us and looking out for us regardless of what was going on around us. We got our photos from Melissa very quickly after the wedding and they were stunning! There really are no bad shots in the bunch. We love all of the photos and could not be happier with the way our special day was captured!! All of our family and friends have commented on our photos - truly they are fantastic and we are so so thankful for Melissa's amazing work!

Melissa and Javier are not only the best in their business but they are two seriously incredible people who helped a lot during our big day... not only with pictures and video but she even helped me with my dress! Hiring them was one of the best decisions that we made in planning our wedding. The photos of our wedding beat our expectations, which were set very high after seeing the awesome work in their portfolio. Amazing experience

We know Melissa's work through other family members that have used her services before, and having her do our wedding exceeded our expectations. We had our wedding 1/13/19 and she made our day feel extra special. Her attention to detail is incredible. From the moment she arrived, she quickly and beautifully captured all accessories, bridesmaids getting ready and myself the bride as we were getting ready. During ceremony and reception, Melissa was somehow everywhere getting every single moment. Amazing, the best!

The minute my husband and I met with Melissa and Javier, we knew the hunt was over. That same day we choose to book them as our photographer and videographer and I am so glad we did. Melissa is so sweet, detail orientated, organized, and talented. He photos speak for themselves. When I first received our engagement shoot photos, I was blown away, but then I received our wedding photos and I was speechless! Our photos are beyond beautiful and it’s all thanks to her and her amazing talent behind the lens! Amazingly talented, creative and one of a kind photographer

Melissa was my photographer and man she is extremely talented at what she does. All my friends and family had used her for their weddings so when I got engaged I knew she was going to be my photographer. I booked Melissa a year in advance because she does fill up and man is she worth every single penny ! She is extremely professional and creative and her attention to detail is spectacular. The way she was able to capture some photos I can't even believe they are my wedding photos. I honestly think she is hands down one of the best wedding photographers in Miami especially for the price. All of photographers out there charge so much more and their quality doesn't even compare to Melissa. A wedding photographer is so important hands down the most important thing you should prioritize at the end of the day thats what you'll have to look back on. I absolutely love my wedding photos :]

Simply Captivating was the first vendor I booked!

We were lucky to book Simply Captivating, and specifically Melissa and Javier, for our Wedding Photography and Videography. While Simply Captivating came highly recommended from past Brides, the moment we met with them, we knew we wanted them for our special day! We booked them BEFORE we had a wedding venue - we did not want to miss out on them not being available. That's how confident we were in them.

Our Wedding package came with an engagement shoot and Melissa traveled to Gainesville, FL (Go Gators!) with us for the shoot. We loved bonding with her throughout the trip, and we got amazing shots! Exactly what we wanted. She ensured that we were satisfied with all our shots, while making my Fiancé and I feel comfortable. Fast forward to Wedding Day, from the minute Simply Captivating arrived, I felt at ease knowing that Melissa was leading, and ensuring we were running on time, while getting all the shots we wanted. I had a bridal emergency - and Melissa was by my side the entire time, not giving up until everything was as close to being perfect as possible. One of Melissa's best qualities is that she is down to earth, super sweet, funny, and keeps it real. She becomes your new best friend.

We received our wedding pictures and trailer within a week of the wedding and we are so happy with them! Everything is perfect. We are soooo thankful to Melissa and Javier and the Simply Captivating Team for everything they have done for us. We will be clients for life.

We used simply captivating for our engagement shoot, weddings pics and video. Our photographer did an excellent job one on one with us and in the day time. My advice is to ask for examples of nighttime photos from the photographer you are going to work with if your wedding is in the evening. Loved my video! We got our pics and video within days after our wedding. This team aims to please and provides excellent customer service.

The Best! We had Gonzalo as our photographer, he captured every photo with great detail. Made us feel very comfortable the day of our engagement shoot and our bridal party comfortable the day of the wedding. We gave him his time to go ahead and venture out to take shots that exposed the details in the wedding: dress, shoes, venue, flowers, etc.
Whenever I contacted the photographer or the company, they responded no later than 24 hours.
Also, we were able to receive both engagement and wedding photos within a week!
Gonzalo was absolutely great, I am so happy we were able to find him and use him on our day.

Melissa and Javi are the dynamic duo of photography and videography. They went above and beyond what was expected and delivered exceptional quality with little to no work required on our end. Aside from being truly talented in their craft, they are personable professionals who always made us feel comfortable with their service. Personally, I am not used to taking pictures or being recorded, but Melissa and Javi made me feel relaxed and natural. Melissa took our suggestions seriously and valued our opinions. Melissa and Javi are proactive about timelines, locations, poses, outfits, and all the specific details we wanted for our pictures and video. They made themselves available to us and responded to our questions/concerns almost immediately. They have been doing this for years and, as such, they understood the urgency in supporting us with whatever we needed.

On our wedding day, they were both remarkably efficient with their time. So much that they took countless pictures of us with EVERYONE at our wedding while allowing us to have more than enough time to actually eat our dinner and drink frequently (we’ve heard it’s common for the bride and groom to not have time to eat or drink because of picture-taking; no need to worry about this with SimplyCaptivating). Taking pics at the church was a breeze. Again, Melissa was organized with grouping us for pictures and AMAZING with getting our children to smile. We even ended up having additional time during our cocktail hour to take pictures at the venue before our reception.

Jasmin and I couldn’t be happier with their work. Less than a week after our wedding, we were reliving our wedding through our pictures during our honeymoon. They captured all of the most special moments to make everlasting memories.

We can’t thank them enough for making this an unforgettable experience and contributing to the happiest day of our lives! We’ll definitely be coming back for future events.

We hired Melissa to capture our wedding this past December and she was absolutely amazing! She was very accommodating and worked with us to make sure we could capture all our special moments and stay within our price range. We had an evening wedding and Melissa did a great job without a lighting assistant. I also really appreciated how she was always by my side to help me with my veil, my bustle , my lipstick you name it she was on it! The venue was a decent size but Melissa was able to work the venue and capture all kinds of moments. At one point I thought she had multiplied! One moment she was photographing the dance floor and the next she was right by my side capturing an amazing moment with my mom and I on the other side of the room. The digital files for the wedding were also ready within a week which was such a nice touch! I would highly recommend simply captivating for your wedding.

Simply Captivating was the second vendor we booked after choosing our venue and date (we booked Simply Captivating over a year in advanced). We had been following their work through IG and they were highly recommended by co-workers and friends who had booked with them for their special occasion. Our photographer was Victoria and she is extremely professional and is the studio manager for Simply Captivating. Victoria would always reply to e-mails, text, calls in a timely manner, and helped us with any questions, concerns and even provided ideas when we were in doubt. Victoria was in contact with us a month before the wedding, two weeks before the wedding, and the week of the wedding to make sure we were on the same page. She arrived before scheduled start time to make sure she got the shots that I wanted and even stayed after scheduled end time to make sure she got all the photos I wanted. She was very sweet and friendly and always remained professional throughout the day considering we had a big (and out of hand) bridal party. Everyone at the wedding commented that they loved how nice and polite she was. Finally, the turnaround time was so fast! We were still in our honeymoon and we already had all our pictures (digital) and it had not been two weeks. All the pictures are beautiful and she helped us so much with different poses! Looking through the pictures, we were able to re-live our wedding because she made sure to capture every special moment and every single guest having a good time. We would highly recommend Victoria from Simply Captivating to capture your special occasion!

If you're getting married in South Florida, call Melissa. My now-husband hates photos, and she made us feel completely at ease during both our engagement shoot and wedding photos. Melissa kept us running on time, was not intrusive or cheesy, and has a very easygoing personality-- same goes for her husband, who was our videographer. The studio manager, Victoria, answers e-mails and phone calls quickly. Our pictures came out beautiful, and we had them back within a week of our engagement session (which was even during the holidays). We had wedding photos back less than a week after our wedding, while we were still on our honeymoon. Your wedding photographer and videographer will be like your shadow on your wedding day, so I think it's important to pick people who you will be comfortable with.

Melissa is the best photographer in the industry. Not only because she takes amazing pictures but because she is on your heels all day and night to make sure your day is amazing! She stuck to my timeline, made sure I got all the shots I wanted, and still got so many amazing candid ones. I am so happy with the photos of our special day! Pictures are the memories that last forever, and I am so glad that Simply Captivating did such an amazing job at capturing every detail and moment so that we can cherish our day forever!

When people ask which vendors I'd recommend from my wedding, my first thought always jumps to Simply Captivating. I cannot say enough positive things about Melissa Perez and her team. It was pouring outside on our wedding day and my bridal party was running late with hair/makeup, yet Melissa remained calm through it all and captured every detail without missing a single shot. One of the greatest benefits of booking with Melissa is that you will never have to worry about missing an important moment. She has this down to a science and knows exactly when and where to be at all times- it's as if she has an extra set of eyes! We were able to view our wedding pictures (over 1,000) in less than a week while lying on the beach during our honeymoon! The images were spectacular and truly exceeded our expectations.

I feel as though I got so much more than beautiful photos with Melissa. She not only acted as my photographer but also as a second wedding planner, making sure that we were running on schedule and even helping me change into my reception shoes. She is kindhearted and truly goes above and beyond for her clients. I must also say that the entire team at Simply Captivating was a pleasure to work with as well. I booked two photo sessions with them and they were extremely friendly and accommodating. I am eternally grateful to Simply Captivating for the beautiful memories, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a five star experience.

If you are getting married the first thing you need to do is call Simply Captivating to see if Melissa is available for your date. She literally made my wedding. From the moment she arrived she put my mind at ease and when I gave her the the list of the photos that I wanted she added in more to make sure I was truly happy and did not forget any details.

She is very good at reading brides. While we were taking pictures at the church, I was unsure if I looked nice in them and she picked up on that right away and brought me the camera to show me how nice they were coming out. If I ever had a stressed out look, she would ease my tension right away. She is a photographer that is looking out for your best interest and as a result I was able to fully trust her with our big day.

If Melissa is not available for your engagement shoot or wedding, she also has a great team of photographers who work with her. We had Ricky for our engagement pictures and he had the best personality and had us laughing the whole time. As a result we were so excited that he was our second shooter for the wedding.

Another plus of Simply Captivating is that they give you all the rights to your photos and deliver them within a week of taking them. I have heard horror stories of couples paying a lot of money for their photographer to only find out they have to pay $20 per photo that they want the rights to. Melissa delivered the photos via a web link the Tuesday after the wedding. My friends and family were shocked with excitement that we received high quality photos so fast!

When you sit down to interview photographers, definitely keep Simply Captivating in mind. They will not disappoint.

Melissa and Javier are the most incredibly patient, professional, and caring individuals! They listened to my fiancée and I to ensure we were able to work with our budget. Melissa (the lead photographer and owner) and her husband (the lead videographer of Captivated films and owner) are an amazing duo. They are easy to work with, flexible, professional and really listen to the bride and groom's vision while providing their professional/creative recommendation. Aside from executing the day-of perfectly, their post-production team is absolutely fantastic; they were patient, worked quickly, responsive, and were extremely accommodating - huge thanks to Victoria and Daniela!

Also wanted to point out that their second shooters are very talented. I was just as happy with the level of work in the second shooter's shots which is a huge plus.

Aside from the beautiful pictures and videos, the price was very reasonable and by far the best value I was able to find.

Highly recommend them!

Melissa and Javier are the most amazing individuals ever! They were professional and easy going. The minute I saw their work I wanted them to shoot our wedding. We customized a package that we could afford. The engagement pictures were spectacular, they were flawless. Our wedding photos were a complete success. Everything I asked for, Melissa delivered, the second shooter was also incredible. The return time of the wedding pictures was incredibly fast and they were perfect. Melissa was so efficient, we got through all of our pictures before the ceremony and we were able to relax during the cocktail hour. Simply Captivating and Captivated Films are my favorite vendor of the wedding, everything exceeded our expectations. After our engagement pictures, my sister did my nephew's newborn pictures and they were also incredible. I would recommend Melissa and Javier for any event.

Melissa is an artist. She traveled to Italy for my wedding and she also took my engagement pictures and she was fantastic. She has a true talent and a love for photography and weddings that truly show in her pictures. She's so sweet everyone loves her. She is so easy to work with no matter how many questions or requests you may have. But really, you don't really need to request anything. She's got it covered. She takes pictures you wouldn't even think of and they come out looking so magical. She'll do anything to get her shot. We almost got run over by crazy Italian drivers while she was getting a picture of my husband and I walking down the street in front of my venue, but she got the picture and it's definitely one of our favorites. She'll end up being your wedding planner of sorts too. She helped us with timing, gave advice on invitations, hair, make-up, etc. We also did a trash the dress with her the day after the wedding in Venice and she did my hair and make-up for it! And I swear it looked just as good as the professional who did it for the wedding. I think I get more compliments on my hair from the trash the dress session than I do from the actual wedding! :-) You can't got wrong with Melissa. There's simply no one better!

We had the pleasure of working with Melissa for our recent wedding and engagement session and she did a spectacular job. My husband and I have never had professional photographs taken, and she immediately put us at ease and made it a fun experience. My husband didn't even want engagement photos taken and he ended up having a great time and absolutely loved how our photos turned out. Melissa is great at directing you and knows what looks good in a photo. She is incredibly detail-oriented and ensures that you are getting the best photo every time. She was a great presence to have at our wedding and was very efficient at getting all of the necessary photos done in a timely manner (bridal party, family, etc.). Not to mention her work itself is absolutely stunning. Her photo style is very soft and romantic and everything we were looking for in our wedding photography. She also has such a fun and easy-going personality and really makes the whole experience enjoyable for you. Turnaround for photos was very fast also. I highly recommend her and can't wait until we have another life event we can hire her for!

Melissa and her husband (Captivated Films) are such great people. Not only are they very kind and heartwarming but their work is outstanding. If I could give Melissa and her husband Javier (who did our videography) a million stars I would! They were incredible, especially Melissa who went above and beyond her duties as photographer and helped me carry my dress when I needed assistance moving around from one shot to another, and even helped bustle my dress! You can tell she cares so much about her work and the couple and is so passionate about what she does. We just got our pictures today and they look amazing! Definitely go with Simply Captivating!

We just got our wedding pictures back and OMG!!! Melissa is amazing!!! We are so absolutely in love with all of our pictures. Melissa was the first vendor we booked and I am so glad we decided to do that! From our engagement pictures to now our wedding pictures, Melissa captured it all. She took her time with us both during the engagement pictures and during our wedding, she did more than just take our pictures, on the day of the wedding it felt like she was our friend, timekeeper and second wedding planner. She helped us with everything. The pictures are AMAZING!!! All of the most important moments captured beautifully, there were a couple of shots that were particularly emotional for me and Melissa helped me through them. We had a second shooter, on the day of the wedding and they were just as talented and amazing as Melissa. Melissa and her team are amazing. You can trust me because I'm picky, skeptical, and all about the details. Melissa is incredibly responsive-she always answers her emails (substantively) and always quicker than I expected. She's also creative and flexible. Shooting in public places (i.e., engagement shoot day) you have to deal with a dodge strangers in your pictures, which reminds me she's incredibly patient too. Patience is key when dealing with your wedding guests too by the way, as well as all the moving variables on the wedding day. On the wedding day, she never leaves you (even when she does; she's a ninja). I couldn't be happier with my choice to go with SimplyCaptivating, I'll be going back to them for years to come.

Well I don't normally take the time to write reviews but I really do feel that my photographer Melissa deserves a couple of minutes of my time after the 6 hours i had of hers.
From the very beginning Simply Captivating were professional and extremely prompt with emails and messages on helping me with my big day. Melissa arrived at least 20 minutes early and was a star from the very first minute. My hotel was a mess, flower girls and bridesmaids everywhere with stuff all over the place and within minutes she had made order and got everyone calmed and ready to start shooting. I had my shoot at The Biltmore Hotel in Coal Gables which appeared to be her second home. She snapped snapped away and put me in all the best parts of the hotel to get the pictures that I've dreamed of.
Melissa stayed with me all evening and even helped by giving a ride for my family that were having trouble getting a taxi.
She is extremely sweet, compassionate and loves what she does!!
If you are getting married in Miami and are looking for someone who actually cares about your photos than Simply Captivating is the company to chose. After the magic is gone and you pack away your dress never forget apart from the memories you carry your photographs are the most important thing that you will look back on!

This photographer is not only amazing at what she does, but she is an even better person to work with. Makes everyone feel very comfortable, timely and professional, and is simply amazing! She travels all over so just because you see Miami, don't discard. Her passion is evident in every picture she takes and is the one vendor I would recommend over and over without a doubt. As my husband told me "Does this mean we can keep her as the family photographer"...She is that good!!! My recommendation is the combination of her for photography and Captivated Films for videography, which is her husband. When I was looking for someone to capture my special day, I had certain expectations and was searching for the right person. I ended up with the right team. Melissa and Javier Perez at Simply Captivating and Captivated Films exceeded my expectations. I was looking for a photographer and videographer who were not only talented but understood my vision. Having Melissa by my side was one of the biggest blessings on my wedding day. She was not only kind but had a way of keeping me calm the whole day. I also appreciated the thought she put into making sure I had the photos I wanted without spending the whole reception party taking forced and posed photos the whole night. I was truly able to celebrate and didn’t think about it and was surprised at how many beautiful photos she was able to capture so effortlessly as the whole day and night flowed. Javier was just as gracious and wonderful to work with. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted my film to be like and it was even more amazing then what I expected. After the wedding, it was so nice to receive amazing quality work so quickly. I received my pictures just a week after the wedding and my video just a few weeks after. Melissa was incredible and made our day an absolute joy! Not only was she helpful and answered my one million questions in the months leading up to the wedding, but she was a delight to work with and really customized a package to suit our needs. The moments that she captured on film are gorgeous beyond words. She was incredibly patient with my LARGE family and our crazy bridal party and helped us to enjoy every minute. The turn around time was unbelievable! We had our digital proofs about a week after the wedding in an easy to share format that our family and friends loved. Simply Captivating is amazing!!!! From the moment I met Melissa and Ricky I fell in love!! They are so much fun, from the second you walk in for a meeting you feel like they are your best friends. You feel right at home.

Ricky was my photographer. He did my engagement and wedding photos. My engagement shoot was so much fun!! Ricky made me feel like a princess and the pictures came out to die for, so I couldn't wait for the wedding. And again, Ricky exceeded my expectations. My wedding photos are so beautiful. Once my wedding album arrived everyone was asking me "omg who is your photographer, amazing!"

So amazing that Ricky will be shooting my brother's wedding. Yayyyyy!!!

I don't even know where to start with his wonderful Melissa was, she's incredibly professional, seamless, such a big help even with things that were not her responsibility, she knows her stuff and knows it well! Her Photography style and skills are superb and her personal touch and manners with people she doesn't know makes your Photo session go so smoothy and it is actually fun and enjoyable at the same time! She was also VERY prompt delivering our high-res photos to us and so flexible when to comes to a customized package that suits the couple's needs.

The photos exceeded our expectations about her creativity and her excellent eye which caught the essence of our special day. She kept her calm and kept reassuring us that we would regret not having certain shots for us to keep and was she 100% right! I'm glad we listened! I'm definitely hiring Simply Captivating in the future for all my special events.

They do need to be hired way in advance because they're booked solid, we got lucky because our Wedding was on Sunday which is typically a more flexible day for vendors' availability.

I highly recommend Melissa for gorgeous photos, incredibly great bedside manner, professionalism and peace of mind on your big day.

I hired Simply Captivating for my wedding and one of the best things of that day was to have Melissa by my side. She was the calm in a sea of craziness. What was so great was that she treats you like a real friend and is there to help with whatever you need. Melissa is an amazing photographer. We are so happy we chose her and that she was available on our wedding date. Our second shooter, Ricky was also amazing. From the moment they arrived, they were professional and we could barely notice they were there. They blend into what you are doing in order to capture all those special candid moments. They are not intrusive at all and they worked well with all our other vendors. They take the time to listen to what you want that day and do their best to capture it. Their end product is truly amazing and you feel as if you just re-lived your wedding day/night through their photos. Their turnaround time is very quick, which is an added bonus! Melissa was wonderful and super easy to work with. We absolutely loved the photos that she took -- and have been receiving tons of positive reviews and Facebook likes. :) We particularly liked how flexible she was and all of her suggestions for poses -- none of which were cheesy and inauthentic. Melissa is the BEST! Her work is amazing, I had my engagement photos taken with her and they came out wonderful, I haven't gotten my wedding photos yet, they were taken two days ago but I will have them by the end of the week!
Melissa's work is beyond words, she has the pictures to you within a week, which is what all brides really want, to see their wedding photos as soon as possible!
Apart from how wonderful her work is, she is the nicest person you could ever work with. She is on top of everything and helps with everything she can, she was helping me walk, with my dress, my hair, makeup, flowers, with the wedding timeline, everything that we needed she was there for us!
She was nice to all my guests and not at all like other photographers that get aggravated by guests taking pictures.
She is amazing, and I would use her for every major event in my life!! I highly recommend her !!

Melissa is the sweetest person, but on top of this she is an AMAZING photographer. We just received our engagement pics and swooned over every one of them. She's prompt, has great vision, makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera, brings props if you need them and is so patient (we brought our dog with a napoleon complex for the pics). Such a wonderful and talented person to work with. Love her!

UPDATE: Melissa and a 2nd shooter also did my wedding photography recently. Every picture is gorgeous, plus she has so many fabulous ideas to help you take great pictures yet still have time to enjoy your wedding reception (the days of being stuck saying "hi" to everyone and not enjoying your reception are long gone!) . Her pleasant and accommodating persona is what every bride needs during their wedding day to keep them stress free. Think about it, you spend basically your whole wedding with your photographer --- make it someone you feel comfortable and confident with. I swear Melissa is a breath of fresh air and working with her was so peaceful. Even my husband has nothing but rave things to say about her and her staff. We both tell all of our engaged friends, co-workers, strangers on the street, etc to use Melissa! She is, hands down, worth every single penny and then some!

Given our short engagement, finding Melissa was a blessing! In meeting with her, I quickly discovered she was genuine, authentic, and a true artist. She made us feel extremely comfortable at our wedding and captured all the special moments that day. Now with a baby on the way, I called upon her for pictures of my bump! These memories are extra beautiful because of her talent. I highly recommend Simply Captivating and trust she will continue to be a part of my family!

We had quite some difficulty in choosing our wedding photographer being the fact that we were out of town. We ended up with Melissa because of the following reasons: (1Melissa captures the unique, transient and unforgettable moments as indicated by the sample photos. In comparison, the sample photos taken by many other studio are quite stiff. (2) Many sample photos are very smart in making use of light and background in composition. (3) Melissa is always a prompt and pleasant communicator and makes you feel very comfortable.
We made the right choice! Melissa was very professional and pleasant photographer! She and her team are SIMPLY AMAZING. She made us feel very comfortable and fun. The the photos make us cry every time we looked at them. She captured the most amazing moments, that turned into memories. We can't thank her enough for everything she has done during our wedding day.

Melissa is an incredible wedding photographer!!! She is very professional and does amazing work and has a very quick return on your pictures! I would highly recommend her for anyone looking for the perfect wedding photographer! :D I was very picky with choosing the person who would capture this one in a lifetime moment because our wedding pictures were very important to me and I am soo glad we chose Simply Captivating!

Melissa is truly amazing!!!! Her gift is just purely outstanding! Best vendor anyone could ever deal with. She'll make your package as flexible as can be to your pockets. I loved Ricky also! He did my son's 1st birthday party in 2010, so it felt as if I had an extra friend by our side. Both are true professionals!!!! Recommend them 100000%

Simply Captivating did my engagement photos & wedding photos & videography. They were amazing. The photos came out beautiful. They are very easy to work with & have affordable prices. I will continue to use them for any special occasions I may have down the road.
