Guests are still RAVING about this band!

Side One performed at our wedding in October 2019.
They were nothing short of incredible throughout the entire booking, planning and live performance experience.

Our wedding guests are still raving about the band!! At some point or another, it honestly seems like every single guest (regardless of age) has commented on how awesome "Side One" band was.

If you have high standards, appreciate attention to detail, and are looking for an extremely talented band with impressive stage presence - you can't go wrong with Side One! You'll be in good hands!!

Cannot say enough about this talented group!

SideOne provided an amazing experience for our wedding! They really rocked the house, and our guests could not stop dancing. The team is so unbelievably talented. They provided a wide range of music, so all ages enjoyed it and really felt out the crowd on the best songs to play. Our guests cannot stop talking about how great the band was, we are so happy with them, and they really made the night.

I recommend SideOne as the only band in town to work with, they are amazing!

Best wedding band ever!

We used Side One for our wedding in June and they were absolutely amazing! First, they worked with us and were so helpful in postponing our wedding multiple times because of Covid. They made the postponements so easy on us. We had the 8 piece band and they were incredible!! All of our guests were on the dance floor most of the night, and many people have mentioned to us how amazing the band was since. They played a great combination of oldies and current music. They also played all dance songs and no slow songs which we loved! Their energy and talent was amazing and really made our wedding an awesome party.

A great experience!

Side One were amazing! The music was really a highlight of our celebration. The quality of the performance and the song selection made it feel like an actual show. They also had a great sense of the room and had us dancing all evening long. Our guests loved the band too. We highly recommend them.

Side One was amazing!! We used Side One during our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Everyone at our wedding was on the dance floor all night and had an amazing time. They played a variety of hits that appealed to our wide range of wedding guests. Our wedding wouldn't have been as much fun without them!

It's not even really a question of whether or not we'd recommend Side One for a wedding. We absolutely would but more than that, if we had friends even considering a band, we'd badger them relentlessly until they booked Side One. There are three things that I just thought they did incredibly well.
1) The playlist. Absolutely perfect for us. I like indie, my wife loves hip-hop and our guests' tastes varied even more. The band put together an unbelievable playlist that really suited our group.
2) The performance. Wow. We thought that we might have thrown them a bit of a curve ball with a tricky first dance song and we're wondering if they'd be able to pull it off. They did. And it was perfect. But there were just so many great moments throughout the night that we never would have imagined like when the female singer (sorry- don't have your name) raps the verse in No Diggity. Amazing!
3) The energy. Our wedding wasn't a large one (about 80 people) and we were worried that we might not be able to keep the dance floor full. Not a problem at all. There wasn't a single song that felt phoned in or like the band was just going through the motions and I've never seen our friends dance like they did that night.

Thank you again so much. You were one of the best decisions we made in planning our wedding. We wouldn't have changed a single note.

Side One was amazing from the start. They were professional and went above and beyond, helping with other aspects of our wedding. I am the mother of the groom and I must say that this band was exceptional. The demographic at a wedding can be diverse, as are music tastes, but this band kept our guests on the dance floor all night.
Feedback from our guests included: best wedding reception band I have ever heard, the band was outstanding, wow, they put their heart and soul into their music, and on and on. Thank you to this group for fulfilling our hope for a wonderful celebration for our family. You are amazing

Side One is a phenomenal band. They created a positive environment and the dance floor was packed from the beginning until the end. If they played until 6am the dance floor (filled with people both young and old) would have stayed rocking the entire time. Side One was a game changer and we're trying to dream up another event... With Side One of course.

Side One Rocks! We had the 8 piece band play for our wedding reception and they had everyone dancing all night long. Our guests didn't want to leave because they were having too much fun. In the weeks following the wedding, we received many unsolicited comments from guests indicating how much they enjoyed the music. Rob and his team are great to work with and very professional. They not only learned our first dance song but absolutely nailed it. The night could not have been better.

This band was amazing at our wedding reception! They came highly recommended to us and after having them at our wedding I definitely understand why. Everyone at our wedding was on the dance floor for most of the time and more than half of our wedding was still there at 1 am for last call including all of my old Aunties and Uncles. Our friends cannot stop talking about how much they enjoyed our band. If you want to have a party at your reception I definitely recommend hiring these guys. They are awesome and 1000 times better than a DJ.

SideOne is THE BEST! I've worked with them on a few occasions and attended many events where they've been playing and they never disappoint!! So much talent and value it's amazing. One specific gig I hired them for was a corporate awards gala which had a crowd of 400 guests ranging from hair stylists to lawyers, ages 20-80. They had the dance floor bumping the entire time and at midnight guests were begging for the party to continue. They have the ability to appeal to any age and can adapt their sets perfectly to meet your needs. If you want to hire a band that you know will having everyone raving for weeks to come, HIRE SIDEONE!!

SideOne Entertainment was incredible from beginning to end. They were easy to communicate with and very helpful with suggestions. Hands down SideOne Band made our wedding even more memorable. No one ever left the dance floor - even the bride and groom danced from the beginning to the end. Guests and ourselves included are still talking about how amazing SideOne was. We found Side One because my mom had attended a wedding in the Vancouver region and she fell in love with the band. Although I had my own ideas for a band, she insisted that this was the band we should get, so I cautiously said ok (not knowing about my mom's taste in bands). We found out that there was a newly formed Side One out of Calgary due to the success and demand of the Vancouver band (I presume). We had an Edmonton wedding so we paid for most of the band to come up from Calgary. Due to an unfortunate injury, the Calgary female lead couldn’t make it, so they flew the Vancouver replacement out. She was simply amazing. Also, we decided last minute to go for an 8-piece band and they found us two great available local brass players a week before too. The whole band was perfect and the party and dancing was nonstop. We had literally 90% of the wedding guests dancing for the whole night. My grandparents who have been having problems walking in recent years were somehow up dancing. We had a wedding cake, but didn't eat it, didn't even cut it. We donated the cake the next day to the Bissell center. There was no bouquet toss. Once the band started playing, there was nothing that would have got us to stop the band. They were that good. In terms of value, they are a great deal. Yes, they are more expensive than your average band, but they could charge more for how good they are. I'm not sure whether this is a common polite compliment for most newlyweds, but we had at least 20 people come up to us and say that it was the best wedding they had ever been to and it's all thanks to the band. It was in a pretty simple hall, good, but not fancy buffet food, really nothing special except for the band. Around 50 people came to me in awe and asked where on earth I found this band. I was as shocked as they were. I would absolutely recommend this band to anyone and just say that yes, they are worth the money.

Hands down the best event band! Don't bother shopping around. They will learn and perform whatever songs you want. My guests still talk about the band. All Side One members are all extremely talented, professional, and a total blast (not to mention good looking:). I'd be a groupie if they would let me crash their events.

I have to say - Side One KILLED IT for us. All the administrative stuff was easy and smooth, they showed up on time, didn't have any issues with the setup and were true professionals. Most importantly, they rocked our party so hard and really made the event. They started with crowd pleasers to get all of the group (including our older guests) involved, and transitioned to HUGE dance party songs which were a blast. The medleys worked together well and I think I was on the dancefloor the entire time which was probably like four hours. Such a great time.

THE BEST!! We hired the 3 piece acoustic band for our staff holiday party last month and they were such a hit! Our management team and execs couldn't stop raving about them for days after the party! It was such a pleasure to work with Erin. She was responsive, answered all my questions and made the booking process a breeze! Rob and the group played an awesome set and had the crowd engaged the whole night. We 'twait to start planning next year's party and hire the whole band. Thanks so much!!

We started with an acoustic duo performing to welcome arriving guests and then had the 8 piece band rocking out the rest of the evening. Great selection of songs that everyone could dance to. Great energy from the band. Completely professional from beginning to end. Would hire them again and again.

I'd have them close out the night instead of closing out with a DJ.

SideOne played at our private club’s 50th Anniversary black-tie Gala. The band was amazing –truly a talented group of musicians. The dance floor was packed right from the very first song, and it stayed that way until the very end. The energy and professionalism was brilliant. Our members are still raving about them. Robert and Erin were also wonderful throughout the planning stages; offering great suggestions and accommodating our many requests. We can’t wait to have them back!

Friendly, professional, willing to adapt to changes on the fly, and most importantly they got a group in formal ballgowns without a dancefloor on their feet rocking out and having a blast! Would reccomend them to anyone!

I've had the pleasure of listening and watching SideOne perform at my cousin's wedding a few years back. I fell in love instantly and I knew one day if I ever got married, I wanted them to provide the entertainment at mine.

Initially when I told everyone I was going to have a live band at my wedding, they all seem to be disappointed that I didn't hire a DJ. I guess they always had this vision that live bands would be boring and didn't know how to transition from one song to the next.

Boy were they in for a shocker! They totally blew the crowd away. People are still talking and raving about how great they were and how they had so much fun. They played all the old hits from the 90's up to the new pop music. Their transitions were perfect. Like a DJ, they knew how to keep the energy going and how to "mix" from one song to the other to keep the beat going.

They are definitely more expensive than standard wedding DJs on the market but trust me it's worth every single penny to get these guys. Your crowd will love you for it!

What can we say about SideOne?!!? They are so talented and rocked our wedding just how we wanted it to be rocked.

We had a lot of people who didn't dance at our wedding. At first we were dissapointed in that as the dance floor seemed scarce at times, however we soon realized that people were just enjoying listening to them. We had people come up to us to say that they don't dance and would normally leave, however the band was so good that we were having an awesome time just watching.

To us, whether our guests were dancers or not, it was extremely important to have live music for our wedding reception and SideOne is truly awesome at what they do. I for one, couldn't walk properly for a few days due to calf cramps and blisters from not leaving the dance floor. So regardless of whether you have a dancing crowd or not, SideOne will have your guests talking about how great the entertainment was and I would recommend investing in them!

We hired Side One for a large event at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver (2000+ people) and they proved to be excellent musicians, performers but more so kept the crowd engaged throughout the entire show. I would highly recommend them for any event as their range and versatility is beyond brilliant. They are professional, polite, responsive to feedback, present themselves without ego and quite evidently love what they do. As well, I have yet to experience a band that has this much fun onstage! Not only would I hire them again, I am now a fan because of their show.

I have used Side One for many events. From weddings to corporate they are a FANTASTIC fit for any occasion. Not only is their roster completely flexible but they are all friendly, professional and so talented.

If you're looking for one musician to play the piano or a full band to get your guests dancing Side One is definitely the way to go.

Side One performed at our Business Excellence Awards Gala on February 1st and we could not have been happier! Our event band had not been changed in 3 years, and we, along with our nearly 400 guests were thrilled with the band change to Side One. Our guests represented a wide range of ages and music tastes, but everyone was equally impressed. When the lights came on, the dance floor was still full. The only complaint we received was that guests wished the dancing could continue into the night!

Not only did Side One rock our party, they were a complete pleasure to work with. Many of our guests asked how they could book the band for their future corporate events as well. We can't wait to work with Side One again and would recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing live entertainment experience!

Have used them numerous times since, and will continue to support them. They're capable of such a wide mix of music too, from modern radio play to some of the classics... very impressed. SideOne's Rob & Rebecca provided live music for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Their music created a intimate and unique atmosphere & we still have guests commenting on how amazing they were. They are great to work with - always get back to you in a timely fashion and answer any questions you may have! They really get the crowd going, they're lively, and awesome at knowing which songs to play at which moment. They are super flexible and willing to change things in order to work around your needs. Highly recommended! We had them play at a charity holiday ball and have reserved them for a number of upcoming events.

Side One is incredible and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a live event band!

We had 3 "versions" of Side One at our wedding: Rob and Rebecca provided guitar and vocals for the ceremony, Martin sang and played guitar during the cocktail hour, and the 6-piece band rocked our dance party. They seem to know just about every song every written, and if they happen not to know a song that's important to you they will learn it in time for your wedding.

Side One moved seamlessly between my 3 event spaces without any lags or silences--there was always great music playing for our guests. Because the musicians clearly love what they do, they helped set a joyful and upbeat tone for our whole wedding. Side One's talent, energy, and charisma MADE our dance party. The dance floor was never empty, and the most frequent compliment I received during the reception and after the wedding was about how incredible the band was!

I am a wedding planner in Vancouver and I have had the pleasure of experiencing the awesomeness that is Side One at many weddings and industry events. When I began to plan my own wedding there was no question that I would hire Side One. My husband and I are so glad we did!

Side One did an amazing job at our wedding. They helped us pick songs for everything, and even did a few awesome requests. All I keep hearing about is how great the band was. sideONE is the BEST band ever!!! They did an amazing job at our wedding, our guests are still talking about how awesome they were. From the ceremony music, to the acoustic set, to the party band, we couldn't have hoped for anything more. And, they were so easy to work with and really accomodative in learning a few new songs that were special to us. SideOne was one of the best parts of our wedding!!!!! Rob did the guitar solo during our ceremony and the songs we were able to choose added a wonderful personal touch. He also was an ipod DJ during the dinner and he took care of all the details of fading in and out for speeches.
Once the band got going for our first dance, the dance floor was packed for the rest of the night and didn't empty until it was all over. We had a blast, it felt almost like being at a totally awesome concert that was just for us :)

You will never regret spending a little extra dough to have Side One at your wedding. Side One had everyone on the dance floor all night long, and people weren't just hanging around they were dancing! Side One learned our requested first dance song (from a YouTube clip) and they absolutely nailed it! Amazing as always! As a wedding planner, my clients look to me to recommend the highest quality vendors for their events. K&C booked Side One Band based on my recommendation alone - without having ever heard them play. They were completely BLOWN away at their wedding! The band had all of their guests rocking the dance floor until the venue closed at 1am. They keep their set lists up to date with current top 40 songs as well as have a some of the long-time hits. I will happily and confidently recommend Side One to my clients in the future.

Side One provided the entertainment for my wedding, and everyone agreed that they were the most memorable part of the wedding.

We gave them total control of the song list, as well as a rough sketch of the type of people coming to the wedding. There wasn't a single song the entire night that didn't have half of our guests on the floor dancing.

If you're undecided, do what we did and check them out at one of their many free casino or wedding show performances. Watching the wide spectrum of people they appealed to is what sealed it for us. For anyone considering a band, you can't go wrong with Side One. They were an absolute pleasure to work with, completely professional, and exceeded all of our expectations.

We hired the Calgary based, Side One band for our Staff Holiday party. Our staff are typically hard to get on the dance floor, but from the first song right until the end of the night, the dance floor was packed! Our staff were thrilled with the band and we plan on hiring them for our next Staff Holiday party as well!

They were fantastic to work with and very easy going which is a dream for an event planner!

I worked with Erin Bishop, owner and principal planner of Filosophi events. She had a great energy to her, and totally got what I wanted out of my wedding day. I booked her for day-of coordination, and she was by far the best spent part of my budget. I literally did not worry about a thing on the big day, she took care of everything! Highly recommend Erin and her awesome team at Filosophi!

Erin also manages Side One, our amazing band. They literally filled the dance floor within 30 seconds of starting to play, and it was full until their final encore. Amazing band, incredibly talented musicians and they played a huge part in making our wedding so much fun!

Side One was simply awesome!!! If you want live music at your wedding or other event, I don't think you could ask for any better. We had Rob play acoustic guitar for our ceremony which was literally tear-jerking. He took four songs that meant so much to us (some of which were more obscure) and even though he hadn't played them before he arranged them into something so beautiful and appropriate for the procession, a reading, and the recessional. People could recognize the songs but they were crafted in a beautiful way just for us.
Then for the reception ... party time! They had everyone going the entire night ... even my 90 year old grandpa! They played songs that we had requested mixed in with a wonderful diversity that just kept the party going. They were funny and warm with their banter without ever getting into cheese ball territory. They are still probably the most talked about element of our wedding reception by our guests ... everyone just loved them. I constantly hear to this day "Oh, I heard "insert random song here" today and it made me think about when the band played it at your wedding. They were so awesome!!!" We now have two categories of songs: songs SideOne played at our wedding and others :)

Side One was absolutely amazing! They played my "big fat Canadian Croatian wedding" in September 2013 and blew everyone away. The dance floor was on fire all night and we, along with our guests, had a blast grooving to their awesome tunes. Rob and the band are super friendly and easy to work with, and they even brought an ipod along for their breaks. They were one of the major reasons our wedding was so much fun and I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a talented, fun, upbeat band!

I book over 100 musical acts a year. For those slots that require a cover band there are a lot of acts competing for my attention and it can be hard for any one band to get noticed. Side One stands apart from any that I have booked. Sure they are flawless musicians but that is the minimum of what I expect. What sets them apart are all the little things. They tailored their set times and content to my event. They communicated clearly and regularly. They were adaptable to changes in our event. They worked well with our production staff. They arrived without ego and most importantly, they appear to have a real joy on stage that infects the audience.

Side One was everything I was looking for in band I wanted to hire for my wedding. Im not a huge music guru but I love live music. They met with me and my fiancee once, which is all we had time for, and they went over likes and dislike and on the wedding day they rocked out. There wasn't a bad song. Guest who I never expected to be dancing were on the floor all night. Everyone I spoke to was raving about the quality of music. Side One is awesome in the true sense of the word.

"The best wedding ever"

We had side one play our reception and I have never been to a wedding with more people dancing, and shouting the lyrics, from the 5 year olds to the 85 year olds, and all of our college friends in between. We had the 8 piece band come and it was the best use of money for the entire day. We gave them a list of as many of our favorite songs as we could think of, and what they played perfectly captured our style and kept everyone dancing literally all night. SO many people have asked me who they were and how we found them, and want to have them too! The quality was like being at a concert, but a concert that is perfectly built for you. I can't recommend them highly enough!!

We hired Side One to perform at our wedding on July 20, 2013 and our experience was fantastic!
As a starting point...I have been an event organizer, talent buyer and promoter (in the music industry) for 12 years. During this time, I've worked with more than 1500 artists to produce and deliver 250+ events. My reason for indicating this to you is because I have taken the time to write this testimonial for Side One...and they deserve it. I am critical of "little details", and I imagine the majority of "soon to be wives" are the same ;-)

Highlights of working with Side One included:
- References and positive feedback within the industry prior to making first contact
- Professionalism (and genuine interest) in our requests during preliminary discussion.
- Access & availability. Side One management was very accommodating to our busy work schedules.
- Pre-wedding consultation: We had numerous emails and a 1 hour "sit down" with management to discuss our specific details. I was also impressed with their attention to detail regarding canned music, live DJ's, speeches and wedding video.
- Pre-wedding "site visit": This may not be necessary for everyone, but I wanted to meet in advance (at our venue) to discuss power, staging and other elements of big picture delivery. On this note, I offer my highest recommendation to Rob (of Side One), as he took the time to photograph power outlets, measure the stage location and consult with venue staff to coordinate logistics. (Trust me...these are the details that make your day run smoothly!!)

- Sound tech was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
- The band was excellent and dressed to impress (men in suits, women in dresses). My wife was really impressed by the female vocalist who dressed in the colours of her bridesmaids. (Again...subtle details that show they care!)
