Fantastic!

From the first moment we decided to use Shooting Star Photography to receiving our photos, we have had a wonderful experience with Shooting Star. Communication was great from Sally and Alek. The prices were very good. Above all, Sally was wonderful. She has a great eye and photographed my daughter’s beach wedding beautifully! I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Amazing photographer has captured memories that will last a lifetime.

He came out to do my wedding photos on Anna Maria island, very nice man, friendly, patient and the photos were amazing.
I made a great choice with this company and now have amazing photos to remember the day.

Alec and Sally are a awesome husband and wife team. They were on time, very friendly, answer email questions quickly and affordable. Our album and pics are beautiful. Alec and Sally never got in our way when taking pics. They did everything we asked them to do. Alec and Sally are wondering people and would recommend them to all our friends and family. If you are on a budget this is the photographer you want to hire. I want to say thank you again Alec and Sally for an awesome job. You all deserve a score of high 10!

We hired Alek to take our family photos at Anna Maria and we could not have been happier with the results! Right from the start he was very responsive with providing detailed responses to my emails, and very friendly! He was also very professional and great with a large group with toddlers. Finally, the value is just unbelievable! Not only do you get great service but so many beautiful images. I looked at other photographers as well but I was by far the most impressed with everything Shooting Star had to offer. Alek did an amazing job capturing our family memories and we couldn't be happier. Thank you Alek!

In a vendor's perspective, working with Alek was a dream. He was so welcoming throughout the process and approachable the whole wedding day. Alek communicated with me during all transitional times and more importantly, was adamant on giving the couple a few moments to themselves during the busy day to be with each other. I was so fortunate to be able to work with him. I cannot recommend Alek enough--he filled in all the time provided to get some amazing shots of the wedding day. WOW! Alek and Sally did a fantastic job on our Wedding day. The husband and wife team did a great job capturing the special moments of our day. Alek and Sally came very highly recommended, we were excited to have the opportunity to work with them. They are not only extremely professional but they are both wonderful people to be around. We not only enjoyed their company but really enjoyed how well they work together and with other vendors like the DJ and wedding planner. Alek was great! We were married at the BeachHouse Restaurant in Bradenton Beach, FL. Very professional and made sure we got all the pictures we needed without missing the reception. He took pictures of my friends and family during the sunset too. I would definitely recommend him.

Alek was so prompt at getting back to my emails and following up! He was flexible with our photography package which helped us capture the things that mattered the most! I was more confident with his services when I met him at the Anna Maria wedding show and saw he was recommend by the sandbar. Overall Alek felt like a guest at my wedding who thought I looked really good and took the most romantic photos of my husband and i. what more could a bride ask for!

Shooting Star Photography was absolutely fantastic! Our wedding pictures are beautiful and we couldn't be more pleased with how wonderful they turned out. Not only did the photographer patiently wait for the rain to stop to have our wedding on the beach, he captured the ceremony and sunset in such a special way that we will always treasure these photos and the memories they bring to mind every time we look at them. We proudly have many of them displayed throughout our home. (You will be able to get as many copies made as you want from the disc they give you.) The comments we received about the photos from friends and family have all been glowing. I highly recommend their services if you are getting married in the Sarasota area.

My husband and I were so very impressed by Alek at Shooting Star Photography. While we haven't received our disc yet (as we were just married one week ago), our photos were online for viewing THE NEXT DAY. When my husband and I looked, we were so very pleased. The photographs came out amazing. Apart from the beautiful photos, what really pleased my husband and I the most was Alek's professionalism, flexibility, and personality. He was able to get all the posed shots we wanted QUICKLY, which was very important to us. We were not the couple who wanted to spend an hour taking photos--and we didn't nor did we have to to have the same result. Alek was quick at directing us and patient (wrangling our families can be a challenge). He was also very creative and got some great shots of us at our reception venue on the water. At the reception, Alek also followed us around, while not getting in our way and got pictures of me with my guests. That was really special as our wedding was on the smaller side (60 or so guests), everyone who was there was very important to us. Alek was also very patient and understanding of our guests and relatives who were taking pictures. Even though several other people were taking photos of us at important moments, Alek respected their space and still got amazing shots. Beyond the quality and professionalism, Shooting Star Photography is an amazing value. Our budget was on the smaller side and I was searching for an affordable, but quality photographer. When a friend recommended Shooting Star to me and sent me to their website, I could not believe the prices. I had researched several other photographers, not only were their quotes exponentially higher than Shooting Star's, but their websites did not list prices, which frustrated me as I planned my wedding from out of state.

You will be missing out big time if you don't hire Shooting Star Photography. They exceed expectations!

Alek photographed our 20 year vow renewal on the beach on Anna Maria Island. He was amazing and our pictures are unbelievable! Things we loved about Alek... 1. He was on time. 2. His prices are very reasonable. 3. He was dressed appropriately and professionally. 4. He didn't intrude on our ceremony but got amazing pictures of the whole thing. 5. He had great ideas for pictures and he was more than willing to do poses and things we wanted to do as well. 6. He sends us a CD of the pix so we can do what we want with them. 7. He was super friendly to us, our family and guests. 8. Even though we weren't getting married for the first time, he made me feel like a bride. I would highly recommend Shooting Star photography. Alek was the best!

Our wedding photos were of excellent quality. We really liked all the candid photos (as we requested). We felt very comfortable around Alek - he is very approachable and flexible. Overall we were very pleased to have worked with him.

Alek provided a great service at a great price. Planning a wedding on a small budget doesn't mean you have to sacrifice good quality photos. We are extremely happy with the photos we have from our Anna Maria Island wedding and I highly recommend using Shooting Star Photography to any bride.

Alek and Sally are a wonderful couple and great photographers! They were very accomodating and had great ideas for photos. It was great to have the two of them at different spots to get really good different views for photos. I would recommend them to anyone looking to have a great time taking pictures and a lot of fun candids.. Those were my favorite!

They were so amazing...on the day of our wedding I let Alek know of certain things that we were going to do and certain pictures that I would like him to take and he had no problem with that. We live in Lakeland, FL so I could not talk to him face to face so we did all our communicating by email and phone. He and his wife were always very professional and extremely nice and did everything they could to make sure we were 100% satisfied. Oh and the wedding album..WOW I have never seen anything like this it was better than I imagined it being...I knew it would be good but I never expected this!!! The next time I need a photographer I am definitely going to call them and if I know of anyone getting married I will definitely tell them to call Shooting Star!! They are amazing and I couldn't have asked for better people to work with or a better album!! THANK YOU!!!

Our daughter was trying to keep photo costs low. She asked if they could come for 2 and 1/2 hours; enough time for the dressing part, the ceremony, pictures after on the beach, family pics and about 1/2 hour of random shots of the group. He was terrific and so unobtrusive!! I never even knew he was there, but he captured everything! He even had them do a "fake" cake cutting (which took place after he left) so that it would be a part of the pictures. THEN...we had the proofs two days later!! And they are beautiful! Talk about professional. They are a terrific husband and wife team who worked hard to meet our requirements, not theirs. I recommend them highly!

My husband and I used shooting star photography this past october. They were amazing! They dealt with our family trying to jump in their way when they were trying to take pictures and yet they still got amazing ones of us. I would recommend them to anyone! Thank you guys for such an amazing job!

My husband and I used Shooting Star Photography for our wedding this past May in Anna Maria, Island. We were on our way to check out the venue, when we called Alek to see if we could meet with him, not realizing we should have set-up an appointment. Alek actually came to our venue and met us THAT day! He was very professional the entire time. We never really noticed him taking photos and he got some beautiful shots! We love the album he made for us! He took so many good ones, it was very hard to decide which ones we would use for our album :) I would recommend Alek for any type of occasion. Can not tell you how pleased we were with this vendor- EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT!!! We LOVED everyone of the images and had such a difficult time choosing which ones we wanted for our final album! I would recommend this vendor to anyone looking for a great photographer- the fact that the husband/wife team was a complete bonus for us because both had some very unique shots and could be with both sides of the bridal party prior to the wedding!! =)

We loved Stooting Star Photography. My husband and I couldn't find anyone who would offer a package that we wanted. Basically, we wanted the photographer to be there for the duration of our wedding/reception (6 hrs), we wanted FULL printing rights to all of the pictures, and we wanted a coffee table book that we could show to guests; the kicker is we needed all this for under our budget of $1000. Alec was able to provide everything for us. The other thing that was important for us was for the photographer to capture ever moment, but not be distracting and in the way. Alec really captured all of our special moments and we hardly even knew he was there! Our coffe table book was so professionally and artfully done. Seeing his sample coffee/magazine style books is actually what sold us to Shooting Star in the first place. The picture printing is of excellent quality and the color enhancements were a great touch! I would highly recommend Shooting Star if you are on a budget, but want excellent photography.

Alek & Sally, I would like to say thank you so much for helping us make Heather & Chris' wedding day at the Beachhouse so memorable!!! We're so glad you guys were able to stay for dinner, too....we truly enjoyed your company. You both are so very professional, but very down to earth at the same time. I live in Boston and planned a destination wedding on Anna Maria Island without having the opportunity to meet my vendors face-to-face. I searched several websites and did my homework because I knew what I wanted: photographers who knew how to capture the unique essence of a beach wedding; who were caring, professional, attentive and responsible; and who would provide me with wedding pictures that would just blow us away without us having to worry and stress that we would get the shots we wanted. Shooting Star Photography really did all this and more - I cannot say enough how pleased I was with their service, their pictures, and the most amazing storybook album: people are just amazed by it when they see it.

When I found Alek and Sally's website, I liked how they were a husband-and-wife team who shoot weddings together. This meant I got Sally alone to take pictures while I was getting ready, my husband got Alek, and we got them both for the ceremony and reception. This means you get a million different angles - by this, I mean MOMENTS - from which to choose. In fact, because we received all our shots on CD, we really got every single shot. I joke that I could wallpaper my house with them all! They immediately made us both feel comfortable and they were as excited about our day as us. In fact, by the end of the evening, they felt like guests at our event and we still keep in touch.

For all you brides-to-be, let a bride whose been through it give you some advice: after your gown, the most important thing about your wedding day is the pictures. Over time, some people might forget your delicious food, your open bar, and your amazing band. Your photos are forever. Shooting Star Photography brings art, vision, and a fervent desire to personalize packages with meticulous detail to the client experience. We were unable to choose the pictures for our album so we trusted them to do it for us. It came out even better than I could have ever imagined.

One thing I would recommend is because they focus on these incredible candid shots most of the time, if you have a set posed shots you want to check off your list (more traditional family shots, etc.), make a list and give it to them. We forgot about these types of photos and had some family members looking for the more traditional wedding pictures. Just a suggestion!

If you are getting married anywhere near the beach, I cannot imagine a better photographer than Shooting Star! =)

Alek and Sally were great. The pictures that Sally took at sunset were beautiful. They are both very professional and helpful. Our wedding storybook is amazing, it is highly recommended. Alek was fantastic. I have been to other weddings where the photographers were pushy & demanding, but he was extremely pleasant. He coordinated the timeframe for pictures with the DJ, so we had little to do but sit back & enjoy our guests. The pictures are amazing. The prices of the package changed between when we signed the contract & the wedding day, & Alek was good enough to honor the new price & upgrade us to a beautiful magazine style book for no additional cost. I would highly recommend this photographer!

Sally and Alec are amazing photographers with an eye for the unique shot! I could not be more pleased with the response that I have received from people that have seen our weding photos! Ask about their wedding story books..so amazing and personalized! highly recommend!

Excellent photographers. On time--professional. Took a million pictures of the wedding and are working on our portraits now. Highly recommended!

Haven't seen the pictures yet, but we had 2 photographers for 5 1/2 hours and it was quite a deal! They were fun to work with and willing to try new shots! Loved them!

Alek did a great job on our wedding, especially under the time constraints. He kept everyone in line when it came to picture time, which was no simple task. The only thing I would change is the photo editing. I was hoping to recieve some pictures with great editing, but none looked very edited. Other then that, everything was great! I would hire Shooting Star again

Wow, what an amazing photographer for the price. Aleck showed up exactly as scheduled and made the most of his time. He was very professional and willing to listen to me as a customer. It was very important to me to get specific shots of family and friends in the wedding pictures and he was willing to try anything and got really cool angles of everything I wanted. He was even willing to do mock first dance and cake cutting photos since my budget was limited and he wasn't going to be in attendance at those times. He was quick to edit and return the photos and even gave me the release so I was able to print duplicates if wanted later. What an amazing person and photographer.

Sally was great.. we have wonderful pictures from our wedding day that we will treasure forever. Looking back, there are a few pictures that I wish she would have suggested doing and I would have liked for her to take pictures of each table of guests. I didn't request that, so it's partially my fault. But that's my only complaint. Otherwise, she was great to work with!

They were great before the wedding answering questions always very good about emailing back very quickly. The pictures were ok. I felt like anyone I knew could have done it. My main problem was after the wedding they forgot to order the photos and album my wedding was over 7 months ago and I still do t have my wedding album with corrections since they didn't do a great with photo shop.

Both husband and wife seem to not be on same page. Difference in pricing by location on same island. My opinion is that they are sketchy. Opting to do business with another company.

Heartbroken

I cannot in good conscience recommend Shooting Star because they didn't show up to our wedding. No call, no warning, just a no show. We chose them because they came highly recommended by our vendor. We met with Alek at the vendor (prewedding) to look at his work and meet him. We left there with excitement of what beautiful sunset pictures he had taken!
So our wedding time arrives, we get to our location, the flowers are passed out, our minister arrives, and our family is all present. We had a small wedding. This is our 2nd marriage, and we are in our 50s. We are planning on heading to the beach and start our ceremony at 6:30pm so that we will have plenty of time for sunset pictures. 6:30 comes and goes...where's Alek? We all trying calling and texting him, but with no response. We are understanding and kind people, so we assumed something catastrophic happened to him. Our family took Iphone pictures, and the GM of Sandbar took pictures. We spent $1,000s to get our families here, perfect cake, perfect flowers, clothes, etc. The sunset was amazing that evening, but it was captured by amateur photographers. We are thankful for them, but our photograph dreams were shattered. The ending to this story...they just forgot. We received a lame apology on social media.
