Get the horn section!
AMAZING band. Get the horn section, totally worth it. They were super flexible on our wedding day and through the chaos of planning, they were easy to work with. Not one bad thing to say. -

Best Band in the Twin Cities!
Shirts & Skins came highly recommended by friends and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! Our guests loved the amazing vocals and rocking band that kept everyone on the dancefloor all night long! They kept everyone entertained and engaged with the crowd. Amazing Band!
We were unsure if we wanted to go with a live band for our wedding, and we couldn't have been happier that we went with Shirts & Skins! They were super easy to work with and kept the dance floor packed all night! I would highly recommend them for anyone's wedding! -

Energetic and Amazing
If you're looking to take your wedding reception to a new level, Shirts & Skins is an absolute game-changer. Their energy is so infectious, and they easily blended our older family members' requests into things we wanted to hear. They played a ton of the stuff we wanted to hear! They had everyone on their feet, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Our guests are still raving about them!

Best Wedding Decision We Made!

Versatile & Fun!
From pop to rock-funk to country, Shirts and Skins versatility is really pretty amazing. They were able to keep the dance floor alive all night long. Charismatic Performers
Not only are they musically talented, Shirts & Skins exudes enthusiasm and charisma. The lead singer's stage presence and friendliness off stage was so perfect for our group of friends! She even put our names in the songs!! Our wedding felt like a private concert, and the band's ability to connect with the crowd made it an interactive and unforgettable evening. -

Amazing amazing amazing

They Amazed Everyone

Shirts & Skins made us Rock Stars at our wedding
My wife wanted a DJ, but after we saw Shirts & Skins at The Lookout, we both knew we had to have this band at our wedding. They were super easy to work with and flexible. And it was such a great experience to have such a kind and easy-going band. The dance floor was packed the whole night and they even let us sing a song with them. I cannot recommend them enough! -

Superb band and a seamless night
I was super impressed by this band. They were there hours early to set up before everyone arrived. The band leaders were always on site in case we needed to ask questions. The professionalism in this band was of the charts. I was nervous about coordinating a band in my wedding but Shirts & Skins relieved me of any stresses. I talked to my wedding party afterwards and received a TON of compliments, so I hired them again for my aunts 60th Birthday party! -

I was so impressed by Shirts & Skins!
It was my first time hiring a band so I had no idea what to expect. Shirts & Skins exceeded my expectations at my wedding. I did have to worry about anything other than my husband and I getting married. We danced the night away and I could have been more please with the song selection, and the friendliness of the group. 10/10 would recommend! -

This band knows how to run a wedding. They are pros. The venue mentioned multiple time how great this band was. The bandleader had great communication with our coordinator. My extended family has used bands for years. No other group in MN compares to the professionalism, energy, and value this group brings to the event. -

The moment you hear Shirts and Skins play, will be the moment you know that they are the exact band you need for your wedding night! The variety of music they can cover will guarantee that every guest is out on the dance floor until the venue shuts down.
What sets them apart is the time they spend with you before the event to make sure they have the right fit of musicians to cater to your specific song requests or genres. Each song they performed was high energy and the talent was unmeasurable.
All our wedding guests raved at how much fun having a band at a wedding was and how it set our wedding apart from others. Shirts and skins had our guests dancing and singing along the whole night and it was one HELL of a party!!! Many of our guests have since followed and continue listening to Shirts and Skins at other events.
Overall, shirts and skins was incredible entertainment for our wedding. It made the night so memorable and special. Hiring Shirts and Skins for your event will be one you will never regret!-

If you want a live band/DJ - don't go to anyone else
Seriously, these guys were the best. The whole process was very relaxed and they rocked it all night. It was simple to pick songs we wanted played/veto a few in their set that we didn't want. They blended genre and age of music perfectly to keep the dance floor packed all night! The band members were just the sweetest people. -

A nye bash!
I don't think their website does them any justice to just what an amazing party they threw for our NYE wedding. The band was a blast and so good! Not only did they keep the floor going all night, but they also took care of the sound for the ceremony, the music for the dinner, the first dances, and the dance party! They had to set up in 3 different spaces and didn't miss a beat! I would recommend them to all my friends who wanted a band.-

A live band is more fun
We wanted to do something different so we went with a live band. The whole experience was great. Loren the promoter to James the go to. Everyone was easy to work with. The whole band is so talented and so lovely. Worth every dollar. -

Shirts & Skins BEST Wedding Band!!
We hired the Shirts & Skins band for our daughter's wedding this past August and we're so glad we did! From our first discussion to the last James (leader) was always responsive and informative, answering all our detailed questions. James worked with us on various packages which included both a sax and fiddle player; who were outstanding, as were their vocalists and the other members. He also spent time on discussing song selections that work for all ages! It was especially appreciated that the band made sure to learn a few favorites of the bride & groom! James promised that the dance floor would be full the entire night and it was! We're so happy we decided to go with a band! We hired Shirts & Skins for our daughter's wedding. From the very beginning, James went out of his way to answer all questions, from package options, instrument addons and playlist selections! His promise was to have the dance floor full until the end! Shirts & Skins delivered!!! People we're dancing all night! They played to the crowd which ranged from 20 - 90! A recurring comment was "where did you find this band, they're awesome!" They also added a few special songs selections for the bride & groom that were not on their extended playlist! Totally recommend the fiddler and sax add addons! If you're debating on hiring a band we would totally recommend them and rate Shirts & Skins a 10+!! Nancy & Ken -

They were absolutely amazing before and at our wedding! Working with them on planning was painless and straightforward. All of my emails were answered super quickly and thoroughly. I felt very confident that we were on the same page going into our event. Day of they were right on time and very professional. We hired a pianist for our ceremony and it was perfect. During the reception they kept the party the going. There was never an empty dance floor. Everyone during and afterward was talking about how great the music was and how much fun they had! The band is super talented, has a wide breadth of capabilities and are true entertainers and professionals! If you are contemplating having them at your wedding, stop thinking about it and go for it, you will not regret it! -

We absolutely loved shirts and skins! We had violin/keys for our ceremony and a 6 piece band for the reception. The ceremony music was lovely and well timed. Great Music, Fun Band!
I hired this band for work, to host an outdoor tented party for our customers. They set up with plenty of time to spare, brought all their own equipment, and communicated throughout set up to assure me we were set and on track. From the set up crew to the band, they were extremely professional. They played great music, were lively and fun to watch and got people dancing. I would book them again in a heartbeat! Shirts & Skins Band was awesome! They were able to keep our guests dancing all night which is exactly what we wanted! We have received endless compliments on how AMAZING the band was at our wedding. They were also so organized and friendly throughout the whole process and day of. One of the singers, Kaity, came up to me at the end of the night and took a few minutes to speak with me and tell me that she enjoyed performing for us. I thought this was really sweet and it has stuck with me how personable she was. We used them for our ceremony music (acoustic guitar), cocktail hour (acoustic trio), and for the reception (7 piece band). It was so convenient that we could use them for all three parts of the night. An added bonus is that they were super affordable! -

We chose Shirts&Skins for our Wedding; they were AmaZing! They accommodated our outdoor venue and were willing to work with any of our requests. Their DJ, Kyle, is awesome and offers all you need; microphones for speeches, grand march, etc. They have great lights and sound!! We were very pleased with everything listed on the rating scales. Our guests are still talking about how great the band was at our Reception. Coming from a bride, this band is highly recommended for your special event. The song list is extensive and impressive. We hired Shirts and Skins for our ceremony and reception. They were fantastic! We had wanted the violin and keys at the ceremony, they were able to play exactly what I requested for our ceremony and it was beautiful. I even had a fun request, which wasn't on their song list, for the recessional that I wanted sung as well and another band member jumped in and it was excellent! Everyone loved the band, their song selection was amazing as well as their vocals!! So glad we decided to go with a band, just made our celebration so much better. Definitely recommend!! -

I was really hesitant to get a live band for my wedding... but after having these guys play and totally ROCK the whole night, I'm 100% convinced that they were worth every penny! The sound was high-quality, energy was top-notch, and they kept the guests out on the dance floor all night. Everybody had a blast! They were also super accommodating to a few special requests we made for songs ahead of time. Let my experience prevent YOUR hesitation-- I highly recommend these guys for your wedding or other event! -

These guys were great! I had to plan a work party, and I saw them at a friends wedding, and they told me they found them on wedding wire, so I found them on here and checked out their website. I was able to get everything I needed for the evening from them. Band, DJ, Speakers, Lights, they brought it all. They play fun music that everyone seemed to enjoy. I would use them again for future events as they are very easy to work with. -

Great band and a great group of people. They were really easy to work with and were able to deliver everything we wanted/needed. The musicianship in the band is great! I can play a little guitar on my own, but this group are all professionals. Everyone at the wedding had a great time dancing to their music, and enjoyed the fun atmosphere. They were a one stop shop for all of our entertainment, band and a DJ, so we were able to work with them on everything. I would recommend Shirts & Skins to anyone looking for a great band for their function. -

Everyone at our wedding loved the band (Shirts & Skins). They sounded great! Great guitar and fiddle work. Great female vocals. We had a fantastic dance party with lots of energy. Ahead of the big day, these guys put us at ease with their focus on keeping the dance floor packed and pacing the songs in a smart way. They let us have a lot of influence over the set, but giving them some flexibility wound up being perfect. They read the crowd very well. James the band leader was helpful and easy to work with. We opted for a package that included a DJ/Emcee for the evening, and he was great also (very communicative and useful, but didn't draw too much attention to himself). Nicely done. Shirts and Skins did an awesome job entertaining the crowd, they had everyone dancing and they were very professional. They arrived on time and had the stage set up well in advance of the guest arriving to the party. Shirts and Skins made the evening very fun and engaged the audience during the whole show. This was actually for a cooperate anniversary celebration - our 10th anniversary gala! The band was amazing - They were reasonably priced, and willing to work with what music we wanted to hear. This was a very formal event and they were dressed to impress :) I would HIGHLY recommend them for any event! They are a ton of fun and interact with the audience and they all have amazing voices. Wish I would have known about them when I got married - they are very entertaining and we will definitely use them again. **Update** we also used them for another cooperate event - this was a parking lot party! It was outside, and windy as could be - these guys were troopers! We felt bad because everyone wanted to be inside and warm, but they played on in the cold and wind - and it provided our event with a very festive atmosphere! This time we let them do there own set of songs, and I would always recommend this in the future! They are truly artistic and so talented at what they do - it was fun to see them each shine VS the gala event where we wanted all "female" songs. LOVE LOVE LOVE them and Again - we would HIGHLY recommend them - they do not dis-appoint. -

We hired Shirts & Skins after reviewing several bands for our wedding. We could not have been more happy with our choice. This group was everything we were hoping for! They really helped our families come together and have a great time celebrating. They came early to be prepared, worked with the caterers and other coordinators to make everything move smoothly, and were very attentive to our needs. Speeches and dinner went a little long, but they didn't mind and were prepared to begin immediately after everything wrapped up. They looked very professional and play great music! There really was something for everyone. Our families have all different age groups and musical tastes, so it was great to have everyone having a great time all together. We had a blast, and Shirts and Skins helped provide us with exactly the kind of night we wanted. -

Shirts & Skins entertained our family and friends for my daughter and son-in-laws wedding this past January. We could not be more pleased with their entire organization! They arrived early and had everything set up and ready to go before any of the guests even showed up to the reception. The DJ was more than accommodating with introductions, wedding speeches, first dances, bouquet toss and garter toss dances. Great personality. The band was incredibly entertaining and everyone danced the entire night. We received many compliments on the variety of songs, there was literally something for everyone! This band couldn't have made it any easier. We even moved the venue from inside to outside last min. They sent us a set list and let us make the song selection to our liking. Their is not a style of music this band cannot do. Swing, country, rock, oldies, pop, traditional, they have it all down. They are worth every dollar we spent. -

Shirts & Skins performed the reception music at our wedding and WOW - they took the event to a different level - they played incredible cover songs that got everyone out on the dance floor, they had a lot of energy, the songs were all polished & sounded wonderful! We would definitely use them again for another big event, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for an energetic, fun band! We had an outdoor reception under a large tent, and they transported all their equipment and everything all the way down a large hill and to the tent location onto the stage and got everything set-up themselves. They arrived very early so as to have enough time to set-up and rehearse and be done with set-up by the time the guests sat for dinner. They were all very friendly and respectful, and we had seen them play a couple times at local bars before booking them - and those performances were also great. Only downfall - wished we could've kept them playing all night long, but everything has to end eventually :) -

LOVED YOUR MUSIC at our reception! It was like we were at a concert, we really thought you were that good and were amazed at how accommodating you were. We were also blown away at how you ALL have excellent voices and can do both male and female songs and how you got the people dancing from the get go! Couldn't believe you guys did Cotton Eyed Joe and then went into Ice Ice Baby! Sounded like the record with the fiddle and vocals and like Mr Vanilla himself ;)---->UNREAL! Its almost like you are 3 or 4 bands in one the way you go from a Country song to a Rock-n-Roll song to an oldies song and the awesome part is you did them all equally as well. Anyhow we just wanted to say that Shirts & Skins will be at 2 of our friend's weddings coming up too as they loved them at ours and we will be coming out to any shows you are in our area! WOW, what a tight band! Their energy was great and they kept the crowd dancing all night with ease. AND they were more than willing to learn a few tunes for the hubby and I !! Form the first conversation we could tell this band loves to play at weddings. We went out to see the band 3 times before hiring them. Every performer in this group is amazing. We have gone up to see them multiple times after the wedding. They will blow away your family and friends. HIRE THIS BAND!! -

An Amazing Party

Top tier! Highly recommend to anybody!
Shirts & Skins are the wedding band that the guests at my wedding will be asking about for years! The members were all amazing and rocked the venue! Kyle (the DJ) also aided in reading the crowd and ensured that everybody got a chance on the dance floor. We highly recommend them to anybody looking for a live band! -

Seriously, they had everyone out on the dance floor by the end of the night - even old cranky family members that I'd never even dreamed would be dancing at my wedding. I'd never been to a live-band wedding dance and was so on the fence about it. Therefore, the band/dj option put my mind at ease. What a brilliant idea by Shirts and Skins. Our guests just raved about the quality and had an absolute blast. Highly recommend! -

This was a band/DJ service - if it was only band it would have been a 5.0. Band was great, DJ did what was asked, but had a lot of questions during the event (could have been better prepared before event by reading emails sent to him prior to event). DJ was unresponsive at times which I think was mainly due to him having a full time job elsewhere. -

Shirts and Skins did a fantastic job at our wedding reception. They were incredibly eager to please our party. The members of the band did change between our booking and the actual event, but they rocked it for us. The only small oversight was we never did find time to finalize a play list, but their selections kept everyone happy. We would definitely book them again. -

The band is incredible! The electric fiddle had us hooked from day 1. All really nice people and the DJ they used was very good as well. -

What an amazing band! From the minute they started until the last song, the dance floor was rockin'! They played songs that everyone would enjoy and many of our guests were talking about Shirts and Skins days after our wedding. The band has a huge song list to choose from and will help coordinate with you a set list that will keep the evening going strong. They even learned a new song for our first dance!
The band was always quick to respond to our emails and questions and we couldn't have asked for a better group to be part of our special day. -
