Exceptional, fun, made the wedding unforgettable!

Best decision!

Jodi Light and the Shining Star Band performed at our wedding last month and did not disappoint. Jodi played for us at cocktail hour on the keys and performed with her band during the reception. They had all the guests on the dance floor and really brought the energy. It definitely made the night. We kept the night going and asked her to go overtime and she was so accomodating. From start to finish, she went above and beyond and made the process of planning and organising a wedding from overseas so much easier. She was even our MC! Thanks again :)

A Night to remember for a lifetime!

Jodi and the band were incredible! Jodi promised us a night that would be remembered for a lifetime and she was right! The guests never stopped dancing and loved the interaction with the band. They were so good that some of our other vendors on site during the evening even sent me a note after the wedding commenting how extraordinary our band was. Super accommodating, interactive and just a pleasure to work with. Thank you for such a special night!

Great night

We had an absolute blast the night of our wedding thanks to Shining Star Band. They learned new songs for us and sounded amazing. Our guests still talk about some of the songs they did and how good they sounded - everyone’s favorite was when they killed it playing Purple Rain, and it was their first time playing it!!!

Ultimate in professional entertainment

Shining Star provided the ultimate experience in every way. Not only the music which was fantastic but also helping to lay out all aspects of the event from timing to other ideas to make the experience truly special for the bride, groom, their families, the wedding party and all guests. A great job at my daughter's wedding

They played my daughter's wedding. The dance floor was packed the entire night right to the finish. The band took the time to learn a song that they had not played before for my daughter and I to dance to (which meant so much to me, I used to sing it to her when she was little). We all had a great time. Musically, they were tight and killed it.

Very accommodating!

The music is beautiful, exactly the right volume, and they make the evening really fun! But above and beyond that, I made some pretty outrageous request for accommodation for my son’s wedding. They bent over backwards to give me everything I wanted. I wish I could give them 10 stars for flexibility.

The Absolute BEST!!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jodi and the Shining Star Band. We saw them live at a hotel and we knew right away we wanted to book them for our wedding. Jodi was amazing through the entire planning process - she worked with us and our parents to make sure everyone was happy. She organized ceremony music and cocktail hour music on top of organizing absolutely all our reception music. She was incredibly flexible and willing to work with us for all our wild requests. They have an extensive song list to choose from. We starred some songs and they made an amazing compilation for the reception. Jodi was also an incredible "MC" for the night, introducing everyone and getting us smoothly through our night.
And the energy they brought to the reception.... is literally infectious. I cannot recommend them enough. If you are not sure about going with a band.. go see Shining Star play live around the city and you won't ever doubt again!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all you did!!!!

Best Band Ever

Choosing to go with Shining Star Band was easily one of the best decisions we made regarding our wedding. It’s been months and people are STILL talking about how amazing they were! Jodi was an absolute delight to work with, always responding very quickly and made me feel like everything would be handled perfectly (and it was). They kept everybody dancing and singing all night long which is all we really wanted. I truly could not recommend them more highly, they are exceptional!!

Best Day of Our Lives

The band traveled to Sedona to help celebrate our wedding! This was the most magical day of our lives. Jodi and the band were engaging, fun, and excellent. There wasn’t a song where the dance floor was empty. I would recommend Shining Star to anyone who is looking for a live band with a great lead singer :) The only requirements which I believe are normal are: place to stay because of traveling, outlets for outside available, stage be built, dinner for entire band. If you want a live band and not a dj book them now!

Shinning Star = The BEST!!

Highly Recommend

Can't say enough positive things about the Shining Star Band! We were lucky enough to see them perform at Ocean Club before our wedding and booked them immediately after.

Jodi performed during our ceremony and even learned a few songs that we requested to make our day even more special! The band has a variety of songs, which is great for engaging audiences of all ages! The band was also willing to play specific recorded songs that we requested during their break. Highly recommend hiring this band for your event!

Book them now, you won't regret it!

Shining Star Band is the BEST! They performed at one of the dinners during our corporate conference and they were the perfect fit. They played a wide variety of music that appealed to people of all ages, they were so much fun to watch and they are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. We will definitely be booking them again!

Amazing Wedding Band!

We are so happy that we hired Shining Star Band to play our wedding. Jodi was so personable from the start, and made us feel like our wedding was her priority (even though we knew she obviously had others booked!). They learned our first dance song, which was very important to us. Jodi served as an emcee for the night and worked well with our planner, which took all the pressure off of us to make sure the night's schedule flowed smoothly. So many of our guests told us after our wedding, "The band was awesome!" which was great to hear, and they had people dancing all night. If only we could have had the night go on for longer so we could continue dancing. Jodi even helped me find a musician for our ceremony, which made my planning so much easier. Thank you, Shining Star!

Awesome first class band!

Jody and her Shinning Star Band made our wedding complete. All who attended were thoroughly impressed with the groups talent and professionalism. Jody’s years of experience and love of music was obvious and our guests shared the sentiments. The dance floor was filled with happy dancers young and old throughout the night! Skip the idea of a DJ, spend the money and make for a fun enjoyable and unforgettable evening. This is a great band, with lots of variety for your event. Go with the base set or add a few more pieces really helps to bring quality and character to your evening. From dinner to late night, they knew exactly how to increase the tempo/energy as the night got moving. Your guest will love them as will you. Jodi knows how to MC the evening as well and to help keep the night running smooth. My brother for his wedding had Shinning Star perform....I was so impressed that a few years later when I got married I knew exactly who I wanted. Well worth the money, very professional great to work with, you can not go wrong.

As an event producer in Phoenix I am always looking for great talent and Shining Star Band is incredibly talented and professional. Jodi has a can-do-anything attitude and the bandmembers are superstars (like for real!).

Enjoyed the New selection of songs at Lone Butte's Cascade Lounge. I've watch them perform over the years and enjoyed the performance. Definitely my Favorite Group to entertain myself dancing!! My suggestions for New songs to consider- Sia/Sean Paul "Cheep Thrills", Drake/Wizkid "One Dance", Pitbull/Enrique Iglasiaz "Messing Around", Major Laser/Nyla "Light It Up" Remix, Calvin Harris/Rihanna "This Is What We Came For", Justin Timberlake "Can't Stop That Feeling", Tito Jackson "Get It Baby". Mere suggestions as these have good upbeat Rhythm to dance to. Thank you for the many years of watching your Band perform.

My husband and I kept hearing how awesome the Shining Star Band was when were in AZ meeting with different vendors, and we had to give them a call. I spoke with Jodi and we went out to see them play locally that evening. After hearing them play 1 song, we knew we had to book them. Jodi is absolutely wonderful to work with and the band is AMAZING! Everyone at our wedding was on the dance floor AND we still get comments about much they loved our band. You cannot go wrong with hiring the Shining Star Band.

Jodi and the Shining Star Band played for my daughter's wedding. They were fabulous! Jodi is great to work with, very organized, and flexible on music selections. We hired Shining Star to play our wedding at the Desert Botanical Garden, and we couldn't be happier with our choice! From the very beginning, Jodi was incredibly helpful, kind, and knowledgeable, even going as far as to helping us formulate a perfect timeline for the reception since we didn't have a formal wedding planner. Shining Star is professional, fun, and extremely talented group. All of our guests raved about the quality of music and musicianship during our reception, and it was clear that every guest, (even the toughest of critics) was having a great time dancing and singing along to Shining Star's arrangements. I highly recommend this great group of individuals to anyone looking for a fantastic wedding band.

the band was the main reason for perfect music for
the whole night and made for a unforgettable
wedding reception for 250 guests
and you made the reception off the off
the charts for all right music at just the right
time and were the main reason for fun people

Jodi Light and the Shining Star Band played at my daughters wedding at JW Marriott Desert Ridge on 10/17/2015. She and the band were TERRIFIC! Our guests were completely entertained the entire night with music that inspired a full dance floor throughout the evening. A special moment at any wedding is the father/daughter dance . My daughter asked Jodi if she could sing Songbird by Fleetwod Mac. Although it was not a song she or the band performed in the past, Jodi learned the song and performed it flawlessly. This extra touch is only one example on how she positively interacted before and during the wedding. The Shing Star Band's professionalism was exemplary and I highly recommend them to others!

Ive seen Shining Star at other weddings and when I got engaged, I knew I had to have them. They are the best wedding band ever. They get all the guests involved. My wedding was over 6 months ago and my guests are still commenting on how good the music was!

Jodi and Shining Star were Amazing. We had a number of professional musicians attend our wedding and said that they were one of the best wedding bands they had ever seen. They kept the energy high throughout the whole ceremony, worked as great MCs, and made sure everyone got up and danced!

We had been following this band since me and my husband met! We knew they were not only talented but also professionals. Jodi was great about setting up a time line for the ceremony to the cocktail hour and they reception. I danced along with the rest of the guest all night long. They have a ton of music to choose from. And they learned our song we requested for our first dance which was so awesome. Guests cannot stop talking about this band!

Jodi and the rest of the Shining Star Band are incredible musicians and performers. We were so lucky to have them perform at our wedding in Tucson. One of the most important details that my wife and I wanted for our wedding was to have excellent music and to get everyone dancing all night. Jodi and her band accomplished both of those goals for us and in addition to that she was such a pleasure to work with. Shining Star far exceeded our expectations of a band for our wedding day! Jodi and the band did such a great job. Everyone is still talking about how great they were. They made our reception so much fun. Some are even saying that it's the best wedding they've ever been to, and I know it's due to Jodi and Shining Star Band! Our reception was outside at a hotel, and I even had hotel guests come up to me the next day to tell me how great they thought our band was and how much they enjoyed listening to them. Thanks, Shining Star! You were the best!!

Jodi was an absolute joy to work with. Music being our top priority with the wedding, I know we came off as "needy" and "music-snobs", and Jodi was totally cool with it and made everything happen! She even recruited an amazing guitarist for our cocktail hour. The band is nothing but pure talent and professionalism. They absolutely rocked the socks off the Biltmore and worked with all our requests and needs. Oh, and not to mention she has INCREDIBLE pipes. Seriously. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough!

look no further because you won't find a better band for your wedding if you want up beat! people did not get off of the dance floor all night! Jodi is an amazing person and i adore her! and kenny - her co lead singer is extremely talented and looks like JayZ! and he can do the moon walk! :)

Any professional band should be able to play music and perform. Shining Star Band goes way beyond expectations. They perform for you and your guests, not just for themselves. Having Jodi as your personal wedding or event coordinator is just icing on the cake.

I engaged Shining Star's services for the wedding of my daughter. The wedding was supposed to be an outdoor event, but heavy rain forced us to seek another venue at the very last moment. I'm pleased to say that Jodi Light and her band were completely flexible, and put on a great event.

Jodi did it all, from the music for the ceremony to introducing the wedding party to hosting a fantastic dance party. This level of professionalism represents a huge value, which is commensurate with the fees this excellent band deserves.

Shining Star draws from a huge book of music. They are able to entertain all age groups in many styles of music. This is NOT as easy as it would seem, and the group obviously puts a great deal of effort into rehearsal and preparation.

Many people act as "Music Buyers" only once or twice in their lives. In my case, I have been involved with the industry for decades. I personally have performed in hundreds of weddings myself. I know these players personally and have worked with them in many situations. So, when it was time to purchase this service for my own daughter Mariel, I knew precisely whom to contact.

There you have it from an experienced musician and Music Buyer: Responsive customer support, hard work in preparation, excellent presentation and fantastic value. I cannot recommend this band any more highly than this. Good work, folks. Keep it up.

We used Shining Star for our wedding last October, and we could NOT have been happier. Both my husband and I are from NY, so having a great band was a must. We went to hear the band play at some local venues, and they were excellent. Even better, our friends wound up using them for their wedding a couple of months before! The day of our wedding went smoothly, thanks in part to Jodi working closely with our wedding planner and knowing exactly what to do, and when to do it. Everyone was on the dance floor the whole night. Friends and family still tell us how excellent our band was, and we couldn't agree more! Thanks, Jodi and crew, for making our wedding so much fun! We hope to see you again at some upcoming (local) weddings!
