If you’re looking for photographers that will take great pictures, you’ve found them.
But maybe you need just a little more than that. Maybe you’re looking for some people with personality, that will find ways to bring out exactly what you want someone to capture on camera. Mel and Kevin are exactly that.
But wait, there’s more. 😊 I’m writing this review the day after they documented - and enhanced - my wedding for a reason. My fiancée ran across Mel and Kevin at a bridal expo last year, and just meeting them she knew they were our brand of people. Fun, warm, and yet always aware of how to capture the beautiful moments everyone hopes to capture, all while making sure we were able to enjoy our day.
I felt compelled to write this today because we didn’t have a perfect day in spite of our photographers. Mel and Kevin were absolutely part of why we had a perfect day. We can’t rave about them enough, and I can say that only having glimpsed some of the digital photos right after they were taken and a handful of “sneak preview” shots. You can probably find some excellent photography at a number of places in the area. At Shifted Focus, you’re getting that plus great people who make you feel great, too. They’re absolutely wonderful!! -

Of all the wedding decisions we made, choosing to work with Mel was one of the easiest!!! Mel made our engagement photo session so comfortable, natural, and fun - setting us up to truly look forward to wedding day with her.
Leading up to the big day, she kept the photography portion of planning stress-free, quickly responding to any questions and providing the most helpful timeline guidance. She captured AMAZING pictures of us, our family, and our guests. We, and everyone in the wedding party, loved working with her; she spreads joy and true laughter, which really shows in photos, and she's a sneaky ninja at getting great candids and ceremony pictures! She has a true talent. She encourages and showcases you and your partner's personality and emotion in her beautiful photography - and kept our photos rich and natural in style, just as we were looking for! The variety, quantity, and quality of pictures from our wedding day was incredible. Every family member we have spoken to cannot stop raving about our wedding day photos. We are so fortunate we were able to meet and work with Mel. 1000/10 recommend working with her for any photography needs! -

Absolutely amazing!
SFP is absolutely amazing. I couldn’t of chosen anyone better to capture our wedding day. Mel and Kevin are so real and personable. They did everything we asked them too and went above and beyond at capturing our special memories. I will forever cherish our pictures and cannot wait to share them with our kids!! They are the sweetest couple and I recommend them to anyone!!! From our engagement session to our wedding they were amazing and so great to work with! Happy we went with them. We love Mel and Kevin!!:) -

Mel and her husband were so great to work with and to trust with something as important as our wedding photos. Even in the middle of starting a new family, they were always quick to respond to our questions and needs. Especially in all the unknowns of the Covid season, they remained hopeful with us and willing to help us as long as they were able to. Our photos turned out beautiful and we couldn't imagine working with anyone else. Their prices are reasonable and they are very professional as well as fun! We are so grateful for all of their hard work. Thank you Shifted Focus! -

Best wedding photographer ever
I’ll start off by saying our wedding photos turned out to be EXACTLY what we had hoped for. Mel’s skill for photography is unmatched. The details, the natural editing & entire delivery/presentation. She runs the show all while behind the camera. Overall, we couldn’t be any happier with the outcome. Every detail I could think of was captured. We can relive the day every time we look through our wedding gallery… & that was the goal! From the engagement session all the way to the wedding a year later, the entire experience was stress free, professional & fun!! Shifted Focus was our favorite vendor to work with throughout the entire planning process and even the day of the wedding! Look no further and you will not regret!! If we had to do it all over again, we know who to call. Thank you so much SFP!!! -

Mel was beyond amazing!!! She immediately won us over on our first call with her. She brought such a wonderful and fun energy to our engagement shoot and our wedding. The photos turn out better than we could've ever asked for. We've gotten so many compliments on our photos because they were stunning! I 1000% recommend her to everyone. You will not regret it! -

Mel made the whole experience the most calm, memorable, easy and unforgettable part of my wedding. She makes you feel so comfortable and takes all nervousness away. She has a special way of connecting you to your partner and creating chemistry with her too. She takes the time to get to know you personally and what matters to you, and somehow through magic, captures the moments in film. I can't thank her enough, I will only ever be using Mel for any other photography job. -

It's like your Best Friend is your Photographer
We can't recommend Shifted Focus Photography enough! We met Kevin and Mel through work/mutual friends and did a lifestyle photoshoot with them. We barely knew each other and yet they instantly made us feel comfortable and ourselves. They catered every moment to us and were flexible and fun. When we got engaged there was no question who we would ask to be our photographers for our wedding. Kevin and Mel met with us to work out a wedding timeline and gave advice based on their extensive experience in the industry. When an unforeseen conflict arose and Kevin could no longer be our second-shooter, they both worked to find an equally awesome second person to help photograph the wedding.
On our wedding day we asked Mel to take charge and lead us to where were she thought the best photos would be. We trusted her fully to make everything look amazing, and she did! Mel and her second shooter Kylee captured every moment perfectly and made sure that we got the shots we wanted. Each photo looks like 'us'. -

Top-Notch Photography
Both Mel and her husband went above and beyond to make the entire process from booking, scheduling, engagement sessions and finally the big wedding day such a success. Mel made sure my every wish and detail was captured perfectly. While looking through our final photo vault with family and friends we were all amazed by the great shots they captured, especially because we didn't even notice their presence during the ceremony/reception. They are slick with their camera presence, yet seemed to catch every precious moment! Their experience and talent allows for their work to speak for itself. We are so happy with our photos and would not have wanted to share our experiences with anyone other than Shifted Focus Photography!! -

Shifted Focus Photography did a beautiful job - STUNNING photos that captured tender, personal, candid moments for us and our guests. In addition to that, and what makes SFP a truly "ABOVE AND BEYOND" photographer, was the SFP's teams flexibility, energy, and professionalism. Mel worked with us through every COVID change/update/new plan and even helped us figure out ways to keep and capture all the elements we wanted as part of our wedding day. She really got to know us as a couple! Her energy was incredible - singing to keep the attention/gaze of our youngest guests and keeping eyes out for beautiful poses/portraits that we happened to walk by. She is truly an EXPERT - Mel had picked out natural and urban settings for our photos and helped us arrange beautiful poses, all while keeping us laughing naturally. She was the utmost professional with regards to respectfully capturing our ceremony while showing respect in the church sanctuary. I hope that every couple is lucky enough to have this kind of experience on their wedding day and that is why I wholeheartedly recommend Shifted Focus Photography to all my friends and family, and to you! -

Carey Sent on 02/02/2018Working with Shifted Focus was a dream. They have fantastic pre-big day processes and organization to ensure that all flows without a need to answer questions. They worked in a way that created ease and comfort that felt like we were with our best friends. During the ceremony, they were stealthy little ninjas, capturing the important moments without being in the way of the action. This carried through to the reception, where they caught the party and important people, without pulling us away from spending time with our guests. They took shots of amazing moments that we would have missed if they hadn't the eye to catch it. There were many times in the viewing of our photos that one of us (or both) said, "wait! when was that?!" and were so glad that the moment is now in our memories. In the time after, they were true to their contract deadlines with getting beautifully edited photos back to us (even giving us a few shots early for the family to use as Christmas cards! Thanks!). The work and editing they did with us on our album was great, and the final product is an incredible piece of art that will be with us for our marriage and beyond. We can't wait for an opportunity to use them again!
