    A magical event!

My wedding at the Old Town Hall last weekend was everything I could have dreamed! The venue was such a perfect fit for our personalities. I feel like so many other wedding venues seem really fancy and nice but have a... coldness to them. This place felt warm, cozy, inviting, and historic in an accessible way. The big appeal to having a wedding here? GETTING MARRIED IN A LIBRARY! The ceremony space is stunning with so much natural light.

The front of the building is currently under construction. When we toured the venue, Brianne (who was lovely) told us that it may still be under construction when we had our 2022 wedding, but that if it was, we could get a discount on the space. We went ahead with it and we are glad we did. The construction just blocked off the front entrance, but all of the interior space was usable, and there was a beautiful garden and patio for outdoor photos. The discount they gave us more than made up for it! The building is accessible for people with disabilities-- there is a ramp at the back entrance and elevators inside. This was a concern of mine when touring a historic building, so I was happy to learn it was updated.
There are a few cool little treasures in there: the gorgeous baby grand piano and the buffet table that was said to belong to President James Buchanan. The oval shaped windows are so gorgeous and unique. And of course, all of the antique books! I cannot wait to see my photos.

Kaveh was the main person I communicated with when planning the wedding and he was wonderful-- attentive and kind and clear about how things worked. The staff at the venue was great, setting up and taking down all the chairs and tables according to a diagram I sent them the week before. We had about 90 guests and that seemed ideal for the space. The whole center of the reception room was a dance floor with 5 tables on either side and a buffet table at the head of the room.

A few things to take into consideration if you get married here: If you don't have a DJ, there is an audio hookup in the reception space but it's not great sound quality. We rented some speakers from Guitar Center that were not expensive and played the music off of a laptop and it sounded great. There is a catering kitchen, but talk to your caterers in advance about if they'll need you to pay for 'early dropoff' at the venue because that's an extra charge that needs to be booked in advance. I didn't and the caterers made it work but it wasn't ideal for them. Also, don't use any tape or tacks when putting up decorations and don't use real flower petals for the flower girls, but they're very clear with you about that stuff in the contract, so plenty of time to plan ahead.

Our wedding was very DIY, but the comfortable elegance of the Old Town Hall meant we didn't need much in the way of decor. The whole day was a dream come true and I hope to attend (or book) another event there some day!

    Old Town Hall was great

We held our wedding at Old Town Hall in October 2018. We used upstairs for our cocktail hour and ceremony, and we used the downstairs for our luncheon reception. All of our guests raved about what a beautiful venue Old Town Hall is.
We cannot say enough amazing things about Brianne, Noah, and the entire team at Old Town Hall. They were incredible leading up to the wedding and were very prompt to respond to our calls and emails. Brianne gave us lots of great ideas and guidance to make the rooms work for our vision. The staff was wonderful on the day of our wedding when dealing with one of our vendors who caused a number of issues. We highly recommend Old Town Hall.

We held our wedding at the Old Town Hall in February 2018 and absolutely loved this venue! We held the ceremony upstairs in the library, cocktail hour and dinner downstairs, then dancing back upstairs. For 120 guests, this was perfect! Having both floors throughout the reception meant guests who didn't want to dance could go downstairs to talk and catch up. Everyone raved about how beautiful the space was! Perfect for a vintage, romantic feel.

I couldn't have been happier with our wedding at Old Town Hall. We had about 90 guests and held the ceremony upstairs and the reception downstairs. The size was perfect- with 9 tables, there was still plenty of room for dancing, the DJ and the buffet table. Like every other review has already said, the staff are incredible. They are quick to respond, very helpful and kind. We worked with Sarah Khan Event Styling to add string lights and tassels between the columns and it made the space feel bright and festive. This vendor was the first we booked and we couldn't have had a better experience anywhere else.

My husband and I got married at Historic Blenheim on a perfect Saturday in October. What a beautiful venue in Fairfax with tons of rustic charm and modern amenities! Gorgeous backdrop. I knew I did not want to get married at a typical hotel or country club, and Blenheim was exactly what I envisioned. May be a little more legwork beforehand, but so worth it! We got tons of compliments on the venue. My only complaint is that we did not have more time to enjoy the reception. We had 170 guests - with a tent set up for dinner outside, a bar on the lawn, and dancing and a photo booth indoors. There is also a covered porch which we used for cocktail tables.

Kaveh helped me throughout the whole process. I emailed him so times with questions - he was always kind, super fast with his responses, and ready and willing to help! Also met Brianne the day before my wedding and she is very helpful as well. Highly recommend this venue!!!

We had our daughter's wedding reception at Old Town Hall in Fairfax, VA. The venue was perfect for our party of 100 people. All of the people we worked with from the City of Fairfax were wonderful! A special thanks to Kaveh, Jason, & Matt. We toured the venue twice and they helped us design the set-up to our liking. All of the tables and chairs are provided and we rented the linens from them as well. We used the upstairs library for pictures before the reception. It can also be used for the ceremony if you want to. We scheduled a drop-off the morning of the event to make the set-up easier later in the day.

I highly recommend this venue. It is beautiful inside with hardwood floors and pillars throughout the main floor. The steps and pillars outside in front make for a beautiful picture!

We used the Sherwood Community Center's Full Performance Space for my daughter's wedding. We had 19 tables with a band, 2 buffet lines, photo booth, and a large dance floor. Everyone loved the space! The staff was easy to work with. I would absolutely use this venue again.

We absolutely loved having both our ceremony and reception at the Old Town Hall. The staff was helpful and flexible with our setup, ceremony, and reception. The venue is beautiful and offers a cozy and personal space for a wedding. Everyone who attended loved the library where the ceremony took place and the reception space. I would highly recommend this venue for any event, but especially for a smaller wedding.

We absolutely loved the Old Town Hall. We picked it because of the look of the building and for affordability. It is also one of few venues that allow you to bring in your own caterer which was huge to us because we were on a budget. Brianne and Kaveh from the parks and recs center was always speedy with replying to our emails. They answered all of our questions for us with professionalism and clarity. They even had an employee measure the bookshelves up front because we wanted to put up drapery so the books wouldn't distract from our photos. We used the two pedestal columns that they have onsite (it isn't listed in the brochure so ask for it) free of charge. A huge plus is that they have all the tables and chairs onsite (over 200 chairs) so you can have the ceremony set up upstairs and have enough chairs downstairs for the reception area to be set up. The upstairs is a bit tight so I don't recommend having more than 7 people in your bridal parties. We had 7 on each side excluding ourselves and our officiant. The AC also wasn't working that day but once we got the windows open it was fine! We also had two friends play live music (two guitars) during the ceremony and they had no problem getting set up upstairs. They are extremely flexible with the layout of the downstairs reception area. The floorplans they display on their site are simply suggestions. We had to adjust after realizing we invited too many people! Although the construction wasn't finished when our wedding took place, I'm sure that will be a great addition to any future weddings. We also rented a few tablecloths directly from the Town Hall to cover the round tables we used to hold our beer, cake, and gifts. Notes: no open flames, glitter, sparklers or bubbles. We exited under a tunnel of our guests arms instead. Loved everything about this venue!!

Old Town Hall was the perfect venue and Brianne Baglini and her team were great! Very prompt, professional, flexible and a pleasure to work with. The venue was the perfect setting for an intimate wedding with family and friends. It's traditional design, yet contemporary look (we basically got married in a library!) was the perfect combination! It was a great venue at an affordable price. The day of our wedding a pipe had burst and there was no water...when I arrived, about an hour later than expected, I was informed of the situation at that they were already working on it. Everything was taken care of in plenty of time for the ceremony/when guests arrived and the day went off smoothly.

We rented the Historic Blenheim which was a perfect small location where we had our ceremony and reception. We had overall 65 guests and had an amazing affordable experience. Kaveh did an awesome job of answering all our questions. I was worried about the layout but Kaveh used a program to layout the exact floor plan so I could see the space and workout exactly how I wanted everything. The price was just right. We purchased the setup and breakdown which saved us time for decorating. I recommend this facility and the awesome customer service provided by Kaveh and the lady (I wish I remember her name that helped with the setup and breakdown) she was helpful as well. Thank you!! Our day was more amazing because of your help :)

The Old Town Hall is beautiful - you don't have to over decorate, because it is already such beautiful venue. We were able to have both our ceremony and reception at the same spot. The staff was incredibly responsive and helpful, and very flexible. We were able to choose our food vendor, and went with a food truck. They had not had a food truck there before, but helped to make it work perfectly. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue.

I just had my wedding ceremony and reception here on 06/29/2014. The venue is stunning and the price (for the NOVA area) is unbeatable. From the start, the responsiveness of Brianne Baglini was amazing. I received so many compliments from my guests who loved the charm of Old Town Hall and would 100% recommend it to anyone on the search for the perfect wedding venue!

We used the upstairs for our ceremony and downstairs for the reception. The venue is beautiful! I would recommend this place for a wedding smaller than 100 people.

Old Town Hall was the absolute perfect fit for our reception. Kaveh and Brianne were so thorough throughout the planning process, and made themselves available for both the initial tour, as well as closer to the date for table placement, etc. They took care of the permitting as it is part of Fairfax County's Parks and Recreation organization, which was a huge help. Not only was the space quaint and wonderfully decorated for the holidays (outside), it was large enough to accommodate the guests, and the cocktail hour upstairs was a nice addition. I would definitely recommend this space for any wedding reception, as it is warm and inviting, and a great setting for pictures as well.

There are very few rules - you can self cater, and you can serve wine and beer without a license. Brianne is most helpful in all areas.

Growing up in fairfax city, I always loved seeing the brides and grooms coming outside of this venue for pictures. I am glad to have had my own wedding here! It is very easy to book, as well as, beautiful, and very charming! If you want to it to be even more affordable than it already is, then book on a Friday night!

I worked with Brianne at the Fairfax City Parks office and she was absolutely WONDERFUL!!! I can not say enough good things about working with her and it took so much stress off me knowing that she had everything handled. She helped to coordinate drop off times, arranging the tables, dj, photobooth, etc multiple times up to the wedding, and just giving ideas on what to do and where to do things as I didn't know. One of the best things about this location is that you can bring any vendor you want and do not have to go off a list that the location has for you. This allows you to make your wedding your own which my husband and I really wanted. They are also an amazing value compared to other locations in the area. This place does book up fast so be sure to get it as soon as you know you want the Old Town Hall.

Old Town Hall was a great wedding reception venue! They were extremely flexible. We ended up bringing in chivari chairs, decorative balloons, plants for a garden themed wedding and our own alcohol and they allowed us to drop off a lot of this stuff on the Friday before the wedding and pick it up the Monday after. We had cocktails upstairs and a plated dinner and dancing downstairs. Then we turned the upstairs around to have an after dinner ice cream sundae bar. It was great to have two separate areas for our guests to mingle. The venue is a bit small and quaint. We had 106 people, which was about at capacity. Brianne and everyone else that works with Fairfax Parks at Old Town Hall were amazing. We had several walkthroughs with and without vendors and asked lots of questions that were answered very quickly. They were great to work with.

Old Town Hall was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. We only utilized the downstairs, but it worked perfectly for our ninety guests, including a buffet on the large cabinet table and room for a dance floor. Brianne and Kaveh were very responsive and helpful in fitting all of our needs into the space. I would definitely recommend to any other brides looking for a historic venue to host family and friends on their special day!

I had my wedding reception at Old Town Hall on a Friday afternoon in late December. The venue was absolutely perfect for our needs. We had 70-75 guests and enough room to have a buffet, 8 10-seated round tables, a cake table, bar, guest signing table, gift table, DJ, and dance floor. Brianne was excellent to work with, immediately responsive and very flexible. She even let me set up the centerpieces the day before the wedding. We had simple centerpieces--live wreathes with lit candles--for our simple winter wedding, and they went perfectly with Old Town Hall's simple winter decor (such as green garlands on the windows). We received tons of compliments from our guests. I rented the tables and tablecloths through Old Town Hall--their rates are good and they set up everything before the caterer arrives. I would highly recommend Old Town Hall, especially for a rustic, vintage, or simply elegant winter wedding.

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Old Town Hall.
The ceremony was upstairs and reception on the main level. Everything went off with a hitch! I worked with Brianne who was very organized and professional. We recently relocated to NC and did most of the planning through emails and phone calls. She was very responsive and helped us decide on a great floor plan.
The hall looked beautiful and everything was in it's place. For the cost and preparation, this venue is definitely a good value!

Old Town Hall was the perfect venue for our reception. We were looking for a unique place that would compliment our vintage theme and would allow for some flexibility when it came to our vendors. The hall itself is a little tight (we had 120 guests) if you want a dance floor. We originally thought we would have to take down two tables, but it worked out that if we pushed them a little out of the way there would be space. We worked with Brianne and she was wonderful. She answered all our questions promptly and allowed us to change a few last minute details.

This reception venue is extremely unique and located right in Old Town Fairfax. It was the most awesome place to hold our reception. It's got a great charm to the entire place. They are very flexible and allow you to bring in any vendors you want. You can even do your own catering! Laura, the coordinator, is a wonderful person to work with and is very responsive. She does a great job of accommodating you. Best of all, the pricing is very reasonable.

Absolutely fantastic. Laura Lister is great to work with and answered every one of my questions in a timely manner. The venue is beautiful. We had 75 people at our wedding with the cocktail hour upstairs and dinner and dancing downstairs. It was the perfect amount of space for my guests, who needed a big dance floor. Laura made an allowance for us to come and decorate early at Old Town Hall for a discounted cost, which was a great relief. If you can book this place, do it and do it early. It fills up quickly!

Laura and Amy were very helpful and answered all of our questions immediately. The hall was perfect for our wedding because we wanted an old, historic, vintage feeling. The library was beautiful and perfect for our ceremony and everyone loved how easy it was to go from the ceremony to the reception downstairs.

The Civil War Interpretive Center at Historic Blenheim, also operated by the City of Fairfax, was where we held both our ceremony and reception. A beautiful site, beautiful weather, and a beautiful day for our wedding on Oct. 10, 2010. Our biggest problem was the kiddos trying to climb the trees before their parents had gotten any photos of them in their good clothes! Everything worked perfectly, we had no problems with fitting everyone in or getting everything prepared in the space, and having someone from the city present made everything go so much smoother!

Everything about our experience at Old Town Hall was 100% positive. Laura Lister was our contact and she was Awesome - really fast to respond to my emails, always helpful, just super nice. The staff on site is great too, we worked with Amy and Brenda and they were both just, well, awesome. I'm sorry I can't think of any better descriptors than "awesome" and "super." The venue was perfect for our wedding - and being right across the street from a bar is a bonus if your guests might want an afterparty. ;) You can't beat the value in this area either.

Old Town Hall is a great venue. We had our ceremony upstairs - the library is beautiful - and our reception downstairs. Laura was a pleasure to work with. She was very responsive and helpful, even allowing us to drop off centerpieces and alcohol the day before. Her staff was just as helpful every time we visited to review the speaker system, visit with our parents, etc. Amy was great as point person during the big day. Thank you all!

Laura, the contact at Old Town Hall, was absolutely wonderful. She was responsive, helpful, and flexible. She even provided us with decor suggestions based on other Old Town Hall weddings when we went to check the place out. She set us up with a decor drop-off time in advance that saved us a lot of hassle and made a beautiful reception possible. The space was warm, inviting, and cozy. Old Town Hall was simply perfect.

We were really happy to get the Old Town Hall for our reception site. Laura Lister (the contact for the City of Fairfax) is incredibly nice, responsive, and very professional! About 10 days before the wedding she did a walk-through of the place with me and the caterer and made sure everything was set up so that it all went smoothly. Even after I had to request changes in the floor plan at the last minute, she did a great job and there were no problems.

This place is perfect for a wedding of 100-120 people (we had 130 and it was pretty full, but not uncomfortably so). It's an unusual space in that there are two floors, but it wasn't a problem for us; we had our cocktail hour (and later dancing) upstairs, allowing us to maximize our space for dinner on the main floor. All our guests enjoyed the historic feel of the place and it had enough room for everyone to feel comfortable. The only potential downside is that, despite the air-conditioning, it can get pretty warm when there are 100+ people dancing - but that's pretty much to be expected.

Overall, this is a great venue, with lots of character in a nice historic location. And when you pay less than $4000 for 12 hours (including tables and chairs, etc), it makes for a great value.

The old Town Hall was wonderful - a great price for such a unique, lovely venue. The staff was very helpful - answering all my questions, offering possible alternatives, and just generally being helpful. We had just under 150 people for a seated buffet - it was a tad crowded, but not at all uncomfortable. We used the upstairs for our cocktail hour, which worked well. We paid to have the piano tuned and found a UMD music student to play for an hour or so during the cocktail hour -- very affordable.

I am so glad I found the Old Town Hall for my wedding! The venue had everything I wanted- I could have my ceremony and reception at the same location, I could bring in whatever vendors I wanted, there was plenty of free parking, and all tables and chairs were complimentary. The value for the price was outstanding and all of my guests said the setting was beautiful. Brianne, who was my contact with the City of Fairfax, always responded to emails quickly and professionally so I knew I had nothing to worry about.

The event space worked perfectly for my party size (about 50 guests). Everything was clean and in good working order and I received back my security deposit very promptly. I highly recommend checking out the Old Town Hall.

The hall is beautiful, and it's located in historic fairfax city a really cute town. Fairfax city residents get a small discount. The inside has two floors both with hardwood floors, and white walls, (which is nice to have a blank canvas to decorate, no need to compete with ballroom decor and rugs.). We had the ceremony upstairs and they even have a piano you can rent which was great for the duet my family in law sang for us. The upstairs has pretty vaulted high ceilings and big windows, they use it as a space for artwork and a library so it provides a nice backdrop. We had the reception downstairs which was nice for the guests since they don't have to travel far. My wedding was about 82 people and it fit just right I wouldn't recommend this space for a very large wedding but somewhere in the 100range would work. The staff was always helpful and friendly.

Laura Lister and OTH were great to work with for hosting our wedding reception! I would only recommend 110 or less if you want a decent size dance floor though! Their facility is beautiful and I would highly recommend utilizing the garden area for your cocktail hour. We looked around and compared prices for different reception venues for a couple months and they really have the best deal in the area. We used the tables, chairs and some of their linens. We ended up using another Vendor for all of the guest table linens and napkins (OTH doesn't offer napkins).

Our guests loved the location and building! Parking isn't really an issue anymore as they have several free parking lots that are even very close to the building. They were very flexible and allowed us to store all of the alcohol overnight so we didn't have to designate someone to do it the day of the wedding! This was EXTREMELY helpful to us! No issues and definitely HIGHLY recommend!

WEDDING - Civil War and Interpretative Center

We had our wedding reception in June 2022 at the Civil War and Interpretative Center and it was such a special location! With all the history that came with it, how private/quiet and tucked away it is in the greenery (a rate find for Fairfax City!), and the beautiful environment it created! We barely had any decorating to do inside and out - this property is stunning! With it being open to the public, we were able to visit the location several times ourselves to walk around it, but we also had a couple meetings with Kaveh on site and he was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to work with! He was exceptionally quick with emails, helped us with the layout and vendor recommendations, and was flexible with our schedules to make the walk through happen on short notice. The contract process to rent the venue was very simple and tables/chairs were provided as well. We were able to have an outdoor cocktail hour, a mobile bar park in one of the close parking spots, outdoor yard games, and a beautiful reception space (with a dance floor!), and catering setup in the lobby. This location was perfect for our 60 person wedding and the weather on the day was perfect and allowed guests to move inside and outside the reception, we could not have asked for a better experience working with Fairfax City and the value we got from the price of this venue! Our pictures are outstanding because of the beautiful greenery and historic buildings on the property - we even got a discount for being City of Fairfax residents. Thank you Kaveh and the City of Fairfax Team!

I used the upper level for cocktail hour and the main level for dinner and dancing. I would highly recommend it. Brianne and the staff were very responsive to my questions and had everything set up as I requested. The main level was roomy enough for a small dance floor and buffet-style dinner for 110 guests. It felt cozy without being cramped. Even though the garden and parking lot were inaccessible because of construction, the interior is beautiful for photos and there is ample free parking nearby.

We had our wedding reception at the Blenheim Estate in Fairfax City and would highly recommend it to anyone. It is a relatively unknown place- a beautiful historic brick home (perfect backdrop for pictures) and a modern reception hall in the back (the Interpretive Center) that still has lots of rustic charm. The center has a nice covered porch and a pergola where guests can mingle outside. The prices are so much cheaper than any country club or reception hall since it is a city park. Our group was about 150 people so we set up a tent on the lawn for dinner and then had dancing inside. The city was easy to work with and Kaveh was very responsive to all my concerns and questions. He had lots of good suggestions for how things would work well for the reception. You are allowed to use any vendors you want at the reception site. There were a few rules that were a bit of a disappointment like no sparklers and no amplified music outside, but obviously those weren't a deal-breaker for us. The city also puts the responsibility on the customer to obtain proper permits which was a bit confusing and tedious- we had to get a "building permit" to set up our tent given its size, a fire permit, and an ABC permit from the state; but again not a deal-breaker, and Kaveh helped us walk through the process. We were able to set up the tent the night before which was really helpful. Parking is relatively limited so we encouraged people to car-pool. If you end up using Blenheim and not getting a limo- I would recommend having someone save you (the bride and groom) a parking spot! We got there late because of pictures and didn't have a place to park our car which was more lack of forethought on our part than anything else. Our wedding turned out beautifully and we got so many compliments on the reception.

I had my wedding at old town hall in Fairfax. Overall, they were great. I was able to bring in everything I wanted to an extent. Since it is a historical building, there are some strict regulations. Also since it is a public building, it was a little inconvenient that we could not reserve parking spots at the venue for the weddinf party and grandparents. There is parking a few blocks down the road in a garage but I didn't want to have some have to do that walk.

Old Town Hall was perfect for my October wedding. A lot of dark wood, low lights, large windows, etc. My ceremony was upstairs which held around 75 people, and there was a small room to get ready in, but nothing huge. It was cramped with 6 of us in there getting ready and waiting.

The reception was directly downstairs which was helpful for entrances and pictures, as its a gorgeous staircase to cascade down! It was also helpful to be able to run back upstairs during the reception in case I forgot something or needed to change.

The reception hall was big enough for my hundred guests holding about 10 tables, cake table, buffet tables, DJ, card table, and photo booth! The bar was in the foyer area which was helpful to avoid bottle necking.

Overall I was very pleased with the venue. However, if you need to access to the venue at any time besides your allotted contract time, you will need to pay for it. This is a Fairfax County Property so someone needs to be there to let you in.

The Old Town Hall is a fantastic venue. Beautiful and affordable. The main person in charge, Laura Lister, is wonderful. She is very quick to respond to you either over email or phone whichever you prefer. She tries hard to make the day perfect and ensure you are comfortable in the venue. I had a great time working with her. The only small problem I had was a last minute change in table placements that wasn't carried out but I believe that was because Laura was out of town. The other employees there are nice but not as knowledgable or helpful.
