The BEST Florist!
Shell is amazing!! She helped me with not only the flowers but provided recommendations for the cake and hair/makeup, too, all of whom were fantastic!! She and I met several times, though she knew right away what 'look' I was hoping to achieve, and she delivered! She even sent me a video of my bouquet the day-of to ensure it was perfect! Have her do your flowers -- you won't regret it!

Michelle took my "Pinterest" ideas & brought them to life! Our flowers and greenery turned out so beautiful and better than I had imagined them to be. From the bouquets (she even added mini bouquets for the flower girls!), boutonnieres, flower crowns, the arbor and centerpieces. Simple and elegant. Cannot recommend her services enough!

I was fortunate to hire Shell as my florist and as my day of coordinator. Not only was my wedding day perfect, she and her team just made my day absolutely stress free and beautiful! Shell and her team took a great deal of stress away from the planning process. They easily guided us through the process prior to the wedding which made the actual day go very smoothly. The flowers were exactly what we wanted - simple and beautiful. Shell did the rehearsal the night before - went very quickly so we could get to the festivities. The team did the reception set up and completed early that day. The day of the wedding went very smoothly as Shell and team planned the timeline well and kept everyone on track. I would definitely recommend using Shell’s Petals for both wedding flowers and the planning.

Michelle is a pro – and a great call for anyone having a wedding in the Ventura area. We hired her both as our florist and as the wedding coordinator.
Michelle (“Shell”) asked all the right questions to ensure we covered everything with regards to flowers, made excellent suggestions and was easy to work with (very responsive via email and phone). The flower selections & suggestion worked so well for our vision of the wedding.
As someone who plans hundreds of corporate events a year, working with Michelle as our wedding planner was a joy. I’m sure she has never encountered someone with as many excel sheets and lists as me, but she took it all in stride, sharing our enthusiasm for the wedding. We had 180 people at our wedding and Michelle was on top of everything – and we had a lot of little details that were part of the wedding. Her experience and expertise working in the area, and working with our vendors (photo, DJ, photobooth, venue, cake), made her the right person to plan and coordinate our wedding.
Finally, she’s also extremely pleasant. Which goes a long way as you get closer to the wedding and your calendar gets busier, and you have a lot of things happening at once – it’s nice to have someone like Michelle in your corner to handle things. She even sent us some wonderfully candid photos from the wedding and reception – which was a special touch.

And her prices beat every other local vendor I called and it was important to me to have a woman owned, local business. I used Shell’s Petals for my recent wedding and was nothing less than amazed by Shell.
The Flowers:
The flowers she created for the day were amazing and beautiful! I know nothing about flowers and needed some hand holding. Shell was great and walked me through the entire process. She stayed within my budget and gave me more than I thought was possible. I wanted flowers that were bright, not perfectly symmetrical, looked a little bohemian, but not like I just went to a random garden and picked flowers. She delivered and understood exactly the look and ambiance I was trying to achieve. She knew that my husband and I were going for sunset colors and love the beach. Within the bouquets she added a flower that looked like piece coral! It was stunning. All of the bridesmaids and myself were in awe of the bouquets. I highly recommend Shell for your wedding flowers!
As a Coordinator:
Wow. On your wedding day, and rehearsal, you do NOT want to be trying to herd the troops and get all of the details in order, that’s what Shell is for! She handled everything! She was at the rehearsal getting the wedding party to focus and she was on site the day of setting up all of our special decorations and signs. At the ceremony and reception she helped family and ensured we adhered to the timeline. At the end of the night she stayed to clean up, organize our items and made sure that all of our stuff was together and given to us the next day. She made me relaxed and able to enjoy the day. She was kind to all of our guests and wedding party. Did I mention that she thought our ceremony site needed a little extra décor so she brought it day of (no charge) and it looked stunning! I have only absolutely wonderful things to say about Shell. You should get a day of coordinator, and you should definitely use Shell!

This is why Shell's Petals is the best florist especially for a once in a lifetime event... I had started Pinterest pinning floral arrangements for our wedding a year in advance. There was one particular arrangement that looked like a fantasy. It was so incredibly beautiful and elegant. There was nothing even close to this arrangement on Pinterest or anywhere else but I kept pinning to gather ideas. It may seem hard to believe but Shell's team recreated that perfectly beautiful centerpiece. It made me cry when I saw it in person. It was my dream come true. The flowers were all abundantly luscious and creamy. I knew it was perfect when people kept taking pictures of the centerpieces including our photographer. The flowers Shell did for my wedding were STUNNING! I was amazed that all it took was myself and fiance meeting with her once to discuss our wedding vision with some pictures and she nailed exactly what we were looking for! If we could give her more than 5 stars we would! Shell and her team was absolutely perfect! She was one of the best parts about our wedding. Our consultation was held at her shop. She was well prepared with options, photos, and suggestions. We bounced ideas back and forth that day and truly felt that we shared the perfect vision. She was our first candidate, and met with others for good measure, but we knew she was it right away. During the months leading up to the day of, Shell provided constant and prompt communication. We would get e-mail reminders, text messages checking in, and photos with ongoing ideas. Shell provided us with both floral arrangements and month of coordination. Upon reaching the one month mark the communication she provided was perfect. We met again two days before at the venue to perform a final walk through and pass off all of our items for her to make our day beautiful. Shell arrived at the rehearsal ahead of time and made the whole process smooth. Then there's the day of. Words can't express what a lifesaver Shell and her team are/were. They arrived early and got right to work. Multiple times we found bumps in the road and her team was extremely creative in finding ways to smooth things out. That actually may be what separates her team from the competition. Not only did she smooth out the unexpected things, but really made the solutions appear as if it was what we planned all along, if not even better. The whole day was a blur! But Shell's standout performance is one thing we'll never forget. Ask Shell for my contact if I can share any more positive remarks about her to you personally. Shell thank you for everything. Shells Petals was truly a godsend. Their work not only made our wedding day beautiful and elegant, but flow really nicely as well. We had a limited time to plan our wedding and extremely busy schedules between the two of us, but Shells Petals was extremely patient with us, flexible, and timely. Everything we described we wanted for our centerpieces, bouquet, boutineers, and overall décor was made beautifully and exact. My wife was particularly amazed that she was able to replicate the bouquet she wanted perfectly. Even as we kept changing our minds on how the centerpieces should look in the days leading up to the wedding, Shells Petals was still patient and accommodating to us. I also very much appreciated the timely set up for both the ceremony area and our reception hall. Michelle also offered to provide coordination services, both leading up to and on the day, and without it our wedding would have been a mess. I don’t think we can thank them enough for their services that day, or for the elegant décor and stunning floral arrangements that made our day so special.

Michelle is a very thoughtful and compassionate business woman. I was on a time crunch and wanted an Orchid Lei for my daughter's College Graduation. I had ordered a single strand Lei, to my surprise and delight she made a double strand and had incorporated ribbons and bows with the school's colors. The lei was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Shell's Petals is in Ventura, I live in the valley. She was kind enough to deliver to my work in Thousand Oaks the next day just in time for my daughters Graduation. The beautiful flower work and her kindness touched my heart on this special day! I can't recommend Shell's Petals enough!!

Shell did a great job for us! She was not only our day of coordinator, but she was our florist, too. She did everything that she promised she would do. She even gave us referrals for other quality vendors (many of which we used) and helped us with all of the little things that we didn't think of. She set up all of our decorations on the day of our event and made sure that everything went smoothly. If anything went wrong that day, I didn't notice. I also hardly remember seeing her, but I think that's a credit to all the hard work that Shell was putting in behind the scenes to make things go smoothly and help us enjoy our wedding. We would highly recommend Shell to anyone that needs a coordinator at a great price.

Meeting Michelle at a bridal expo we immediately connected and come to find out one of my bridemaids has used her services for her wedding. Shells Petals was our florist for our wedding and we were extremely satisfied with all of our flowers. Michelle was so great to work with. She was always quick to return my emails and phone calls. I told her what our wedding colors were and she created every arrangement so beautifully. She also made an extra stop at our hotel to deliver our bouquets and boutonnieres on our wedding day at no extra charge. She delivered and set up all our arrangements at the venue exactly as I had envisioned it. I loved working with her because she was so friendly and she was always focused on what we wanted on our special day. Her prices are very competitive as well. I highly recommend her for any wedding floral needs!

This past winter was a very dry season but she promised me I wouldn't be disappointed with the lack of supply. I wanted bright and wild flowers and she made each table and mason jar absolutely beautiful.
While I was getting ready and dressed- there was problems in the reception room, she stepped up and told me she would take care of it. When I walked in the reception room- everything looked perfect.
I would recommend Shells Petals to anyone and I know I will be using her soon again :)

I was nervous for several weeks when he told me he was going to handle the florist and just "G.I.D." (get it done- haha). If I would have known it was Shell I wouldn't have had a worry in the world. I showed up to the venue the day of the wedding and was just stunned to see the arrangements. To tell you the truth, the flowers were even more beautiful than I could have imagined. When my florist bailed for my 2-day Catholic/Hindu wedding, Shell's Petals came to the rescue! Our friends recommended Shell's Petals so we met with Shell with only about a month before our wedding. We had a modest budget for floral because we were having two weddings and Shell worked with us to be within budget. I had my wedding outdoors in Malibu at Calamigos Ranch during the fall and I couldn't have asked or wished for a better florist for my wedding. Without even meeting Shell in person, or going to her shop she was able to completely create the exact vision I had for my wedding. Not only based on my taste, but also the theme and season. All I had to do was describe my personality and send her 3 examples of things that I liked and she had it perfected! She also worked so closely to my budget and didn't sell or recommend something I didn't need. Everyone loved the flowers and they made my wedding photos complete. She was on time and even decorated the top of my wedding cake for me exactly the way I wanted it. All in all it was a smashing success! And her knowledge and expertise really made me feel comfortable....all her advice regarding what she thought would be best really paid off. Michell is a pleasure to work with. She understood what we were looking for on the centerpieces matching the colors of the flowers with the wedding colors. She was very flexible with last minute changes and additions making it easy on us. We had to change the delivery time to the day before because of pictures of the room needed to be taken a day ahead and she accomodated our request with not problem. The flower were fresh and stayed fresh to the next day for the wedding still looking like she had just put them together. I would recommend Shell's Flowers to anyone looking for a professional who understand what it takes to make the difference on such a special day. We did not need her day off coordinating services but I am a witness that she will work very hard to make sure every detail the bride wanted would get done to the brides specification.

On wedding day I was a little surprised to see that the bouquets did not have all the flowers we had agreed would be in them, but she really outdid herself to make them even more beautiful than I had expected (instead of red and orange dahlias we got some amazing red-orange stargazer lilies - my other favorite flower!). No matter what, 'Shell will come through for you and make your event amazingly beautiful!

Thank God I found Shell's Petals! I was on a VERY tight budget and was embarrased to even present it to Shell at our first meeting. But she was so professional and enthusiastic, I was thrilled and relieved to have found her. I had met with two other florists before Shell, and left each of them with a feeling of disappointment in their suggestions. I had accepted that due to my small budget I was going to have to settle with something I really didn't envision. HOWEVER, after meeting with Shell, I was excited and confident that she connected with me and totally understood my vision for my special day. I cannot convey my excitement and appreciation when I saw my flower arrangements and bouquets. Even the boutonnieres were awesome. Her work is beautiful, unique and classy. Her level of professionalism is to be commended as is her ability to accommodate any budget. When people look at my wedding photos, they always comment on my beautiful bouquet. Her flower creations made my wedding day just that much more magical!

Michelle at Shells petals did a great job for my May 1st wedding. I loved everything! She did the flowers for my friends wedding the weekend before and they were great for hers as well!
Michelle met me in the middle in Newbury park to save me a trip to Ventura-that was convenient. The color of the hydrangeas was EXACTLY what I pictured. She had some extra flower petals from a previous event and offered to bring them and scatter on my cupcake table. I really appreciated her going the extra mile. She was very easy to communicate with and she always responded quickly to my questions and concerns. I would pick her all over again and I would recommend her for any bride.

Shell was awesome. Not only did she do an excellent job with our flowers she also coordinated our wedding for the day. Shell made everything run smoothly and my flowers were absolutely beautiful. I told her what I wanted, left it to her and she did a beautiful job. She found ways I could use reuse items for the ceremony and reception which saved us money.

Shells Petals is excellent! I got married July 31st the flowers she provided were gorgeous. I only had a little idea of what I wanted. But she helped us come up with some really neat ideas. She also helped us figure out a timeline for the wedding and reception. She was just an over all wonderful person and such a pleasure to work with. Excellent service very professional and you can tell she just loves her job. Would and will definitely recommend her in the future.

Shell was one of the sweetest woman I've ever met! She will go above and beyond to help your vision come true for your flowers, and also keeping your budget in mind. I loved my bouquet and all of my bridesmaids were gorgeous too. She also was able to accommodate us with using fabric I provided to wrap all of the stems of the bouquets. Love her!

Her knowledge and responsiveness to my suggestions was exceptional! She was very affordable for the product we received and went above and beyond my expectations the day of the wedding. I couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. She was extremely flexible with allowing me extended time to give her final numbers for our center pieces. Everything was perfect. We booked Shell's Petals as our wedding florist and coordinator. She was super friendly and had coordinated and provided flowers for weddings at our venue location for at least 10 years. We planned our bi-coastal wedding with the hope that Shell's would make our planning easier and she did. There were some minor miscommunications (and I do mean minor), but Mercury was in retrograde. ;-) Overall, Shell made our wedding look gorgeous with all of the flowers and decorations, and she helped the entire day to flow smoothly.

-Broad skill set with arrangements- centerpieces, aisle end pieces, petal pattern, garland, custom lawn ornament floral design, wreaths, boquets, etc. :). From large pieces to small, they were all stunning.
I got married in late august in an outdoor venue in Carpinteria. Shell did all florals for the event. We hosted our wedding and reception at the same venue. Shell did beautiful boutonnieres for the men, bouquets for the ladies- all of soft light pinks and sage greens. She did aisle arrangements that hung on the end of the aisles and a beautiful design with petals down the aisle. But the most breathtaking thing was a 39ft garland that went across the stone pagoda and made the ceremony look magical.
For the cocktail hour and reception she also prepared similar (but all different) arrangements for the tables (3 per table) and bigger arrangements for the standing tables in the cocktail hour. Lastly, the staircase leading to the dance floor had 8 oversized, overflowing, beautiful arrangements. Not to mention other small touches here and there.
The whole day was absolutely beautiful and what I imagined. As the wedding developed Shell worked with me, revamped what we had planned and it evolved into such a beautiful wedding! Shell goes above and beyond. Even though I didn't hire her as an event planner, there she was in the flanks, helping things go smoothly that didn't even have to do with florals. You can tell she takes a lot of pride in delivering the wedding her customers want and on the day of it really shows.
Only knock, she isn’t great on email-I just learned phone works better. Overall, I couldn't have been happier!
