We recently had Shelah take our engagement pictures and I am BLOWN AWAY! Shelah was willing to brave the cold at sunrise in the fall for us, which was our dream! She was able to get just the right angles, just the right poses, and just the right lighting. Shelah was also VERY flexible with us having made a few last minute changes...I would give her more than 5 stars for this if I could! We got our pictures back quickly and I couldn’t possibly be more happy with them! They are high quality, beautifully and tastefully edited, and truly show the love between my fiancé and I! I truly couldn’t be happier! Thanks for going above and beyond for the perfect shots, Shelah! -

We searched and searched the entire Harrisburg, Lancaster, and York area for a photographer for our June 2019 wedding. We looked at samples of their work, and when we finally found Shelah‘s website, we were definitely impressed!
When we met Shelah, we knew that she would be our photographer. She made us feel comfortable from our very first meeting with her organization and ideas of how our wedding day should flow. She really took the time to get to know us as a couple, our style, and our preferences. It was almost like she was a wedding planner and photographer all in one.
On the day of our wedding, it was over 90° and a storm had just passed through. Our plan was to take photos outdoors prior to the wedding ceremony. However, Shelah took charge and revamped our schedule on the spot. Although this could have been an extremely stressful time for us, she made sure we felt at ease with the changes, and it all worked seamlessly.
Our indoor and outdoor photos turned out beautifully! She captured the smiles of the important people in our lives, and our guests just absolutely loved her! I would not consider myself comfortable in front of a camera, but she was able to capture many of the very serious, intimate moments of our wedding day, as well as some of the more humorous ones. We almost she forgot she was there until she provided a suggestion or direction.
Shelah’s eye for detail, contagious personality, and clear direction during the entire day made it so incredibly stress-free. Her photography skills are also just phenomenal. Shelah is a true professional and artist, and we truly consider ourselves fortunate to have found her. -

From our consultation to preparing for the big day to the day of and after, we have had nothing but success with Shelah. She is professional and always thinking a step ahead. SHE KNOWS WEDDINGS LIKE THE BACK OF HER HAND. She was prepared for any conversation we had and with my crazy work schedule, this was a blessing. On our wedding day, she kept me laughing. She shared our most inimate moments with the most important people in my life. There is no one I would have wanted there other than Shelah. Our wedding photos came pouring in very quickly after the wedding and it was amazing seeing what she created each time we saw each new photo. We cannot wait to use Shelah for all of our future needs. She is simply the best!

Shelah is one of the the sweetest, most genuine women you will ever meet. I never once thought twice about choosing her to handle our engagement and wedding photos. She is patient, flexible, and very easy to talk to. Our engagement shoot was on one of the coldest days in the fall and she still was able to make it super enjoyable! On the day of our wedding, she coordinated with our videographer, corraled our families, and took charge. I cannot wait to work together on our next fur-baby photo shoot. Thank you Shelah so much for making our wedding come together and keeping me mentally sane during our big day. -
Kelly Sent on 06/23/2018When my previously contracted photographer had a family emergency 5 days before the wedding and knew he wouldn't be able to be there, he reached out to Shelah to see if she was available to help us out. By some MIRACLE, she was available and could help us... and in a two-day whirlwind of quick phone calls and contracts, we arranged for her to come shoot our wedding ceremony and celebration.
She was a delight to work with! Calm and collected, asking insightful questions about what styles of photography we prefer, getting know know us as a couple and learning what moments were important to capture... she helped us feel at ease and in good hands on our big day.
As someone who's a little uncomfortable in front of a camera, I also really appreciated her clear direction about where to look, how to stand, and what to do.
Within 2 days, she sent us a few preview pics to whet our appetite -- now I can't wait to see the rest! Thanks, Shelah, for swooping in and saving the day! -

From the very conversation I knew she would be the perfect photographer for our wedding because of her calm demeanor, skills corralling children (our bridal party was like herding cats), and her exceptional photography skills. She did such a great job helping me plan out my day so that she could capture every moment. For being only one photography she managed to get every photograph I could have wanted on the HUGE Historic Shady Lane Property. The photos will be cherished forever, and we couldn't be happier we chose Shelah Riley Photography!

We hired Shelah to photograph our engagement session and wedding, and she was absolutely amazing to work with from the get go. She's super kind, fun, professional, and completely on top of her game. Everyone at our wedding was comfortable with her taking shots and all her photos had a magic to them that we felt really captured the essence and timeline of our wedding. And if it's not obvious yet, her photos were absolutely beautiful. We highly recommend you work with Shelah for your next event! -

There are not enough words to describe how amazing it was working with Shelah! My husband and I got married back in March, but had to postpone the actual wedding to August (much like everyone else). Shelah helped us work through this process, and was there every step of the way. Not only did she continually offer her expertise, she also just lent an ear when my husband and I needed to vent about how stressful this has all been. Our wedding day certainly wasn't what we had initially planned, but it came together beautifully and Shelah captured every amazing moment. To add to the challenges we had to face, it was also supposed to thunderstorm all day on our wedding day. Shelah was flexible and even offered and researched additional options of where we could take our first look pictures (without even being familiar with the area we live). We wound up at a local University and somehow managed to get amazing weather. We've already received previews of the pictures, and they are even better than I had imagined. We cannot wait to see the rest!
