Shasta was absolutely wonderful during our September wedding. Choosing a photographer was extremely important to us in order to get our "perfect wedding day photos". Shasta worked with us closely to determine what we were looking for in our photos. On the day of our wedding, Shasta was a dream come true. As a bride that had not been to many weddings before, Shasta helped lead the way throughout the night which I was extremely appreciative of (she even offered to help bustle my dress!). We are so, so thankful that we found Shasta and that she was able to give us photos that we will be looking at for a lifetime to come! :)

Shasta was everything I was looking for in a photographer. From the moment my fiancé (now husband!) met her, we loved her. She was personable, professional, and gave great advice to a sometimes clueless bride.
She listened to all of my needs and wants for that day, and made sure that she got everything that I had asked her to get. She was calm and professional throughout the entire day, and even brought my fiancé and I cake during the reception before it ran out.
She is genuinely a lovely person to work with, and I can't recommend her highly enough.

I was on the fence about hiring a professional wedding photographer at all, but I’m so glad we did and I’m very pleased that we chose Shasta. Her packages are very competitively priced for the quality of the product she delivers, and our wedding photos matched the quality and the style of the photos featured in her portfolio. We ran into some issues scheduling the engagement shoot that was included in our package; due to unpredictable and uncooperative Michigan weather and a tight time frame, we had to reschedule twice and ultimately ended up not being able to do the engagement shoot before the wedding. However, she compensated us for the engagement shoot by giving us our choice of a credit towards a future shoot (e.g. one-year anniversary) or towards additional prints.

On the actual wedding day itself, Shasta was great. She was laid back, unobtrusive, and very patient with my husband who would rather have a root canal than a formal photo shoot. She made sure our posed photos were relaxed, and that our family portraits went quickly.

As for the photos themselves, I’m thrilled with how they turned out. Shasta did a great job capturing some BEAUTIFUL, editorial-style shots of my husband and I, as well as some very emotional moments between us and our guests. (I didn’t cry at all the day of the wedding, but I cried looking through our photo gallery for the first time!) The outdoor shots in natural light were particularly excellent. The 8-10 week turnaround time she cites in her wedding information PDF is accurate; we received our photos about 9 weeks after the wedding. However, the quality and quantity of the photos made them well worth the wait! Overall, I would recommend Shasta Marie Photography.

Shasta was great to work with! She is so laid back, which was very nice on such a hectic day. My husband hates getting pictures taken, and even he was very impressed at how comfortable she made him feel throughout the day!!

Shasta was amazing!! So helpful and caring the entire wedding. Made me feel at ease and guided me throughout my day. She was more than JUST a photographer. She took the most beautiful pictures. Shasta was amazing on wedding day! She wasn't in our faces with the camera, could manage a large (19 people) wedding party for group photos, and was extremely thoughtful and just an awesome person to be around. I can't wait to get our pictures!

We love Shasta! She was the absolute best choice we could have made to capture our day. I cannot say enough good things. 1. She is a total sweetheart and very easy to work with. 2. She has a passion for her job and that comes across in everything she does to make your wedding day as easy and fun as possible. You knew she was there but never ever did she get in the way. 3. Girl has got talent! Her photos blew me away looking through her portfolio and I was still shocked at how amazing our photos turned out. I literally cried when she first sent me the link. Everyone has complimented us on how beautiful they are. Definitely photos we will treasure forever. Shasta was amazing! She was very patient with me, a rather overwhelmed bride, in getting everything set up for the wedding. She was professional and kind, and the pictures she takes are so gorgeous. I usually dislike how I appear in photos, but Shasta was so good at catching flattering angles and lighting, and then putting that perfect finishing touch in the post-processing. I was expecting to have a difficult time choosing prints because I would hate anything I was in, but instead I had a difficult time choosing prints because there were so many where Shasta made me look like I usually wish I did but don't really succeed. If I ever need a professional photographer again, I am heading directly for Shasta Marie Photography!

It has been and continues to be an absolute pleasure working with Shasta. The pictures she took are absolutely stunning, and she did a great job wrangling family members and guests for pictures we wanted to take during the wedding. As a couple that was relatively clueless about how things should flow, Shasta was also really helpful in working with us to outline a schedule for our wedding day. We would certainly recommend her to anyone in the area and couldn't be happier with our decision to have her at our wedding!

Shasta was incredible! I highly recommend her for any photography need. She did an amazing job with my wedding pictures and I loved every single one of them and how they turned out. Shasta was amazing. She was timely and professional. She was able to direct our large families and wedding party very well. I was really impressed on how she directed my husband and I to great locations at/near or venues in order to get great background and poses for the pictures. She was extremely nice and helpful and even contributed to keeping the reception events on time and gave us the idea to help fix my wedding dress when I was having a malfunction! I would recommend her to anyone who needs a wedding photographer in the Ann Arbor/Detroit, Michigan area. Her prices are very competitive. I haven't seen the photos yet, but I can't wait until I get them back from her! Thank you Shasta for helping to make our wedding an amazing day.

Shasta was great! We met a couple of times before the wedding to discuss the event. She was very nice and professional. Her package options were clear and provided a good variety of services. She was very helpful both in person and over the phone. She was great the day of the wedding. She arrived on time and took lots of pictures. We were very happy with the pictures we received, as were our family and friends. There was a blizzard the day of our wedding. She was very flexible and accommodating with the outdoor pictures we wanted, despite the weather. I would definitely recommend her to others!

She is absolutely awesome. Had my engagement photos done yesterday. It was soo much fun. She went above and beyond. We took photos in the river and she was in up to her thighs with jeans on in the water. She's very friendly, talented, and professional I would highly recommend her.

I'm really glad we found Shasta for our wedding! She was very down to Earth and very helpful. She had some great ideas for pictures and took into account what we liked as well. She was on time if not early and even helped us finish up with our decorations inside the barn at our site! I would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Shasta is an amazing photographer!!! We gave her a general idea of what we were looking for as far as wedding photos. She expanded that and gave us above and beyond what we desired to capture our wedding photos. I am thinking of ways I can work with her in the future. Shasta did both our engagement and wedding photos. I was a little hesitant because I actually found her on Craigslist and her pricing was so low compared to other photographers. So we did an engagement session first, and they turned out awesome! She is very personable, is willing to listen to her clients (i.e. she had me send a portfolio of photos I found online that I liked so she could get to my know my style), and even dealt well with my "quirky" husband who gets burnt out of taking photos very quickly :)I recommended her to one of my bridesmaids and she ended up doing both maternity and newborn photos for her as well - both of which turned out great!

Shasta took her time with us on our wedding day, every picture we wanted she took. She was very creative and made me feel at ease knowing I had her taking all of the pictures of the day that I know I wouldn't remember unless seeing them photographed. I absolutely LOVE Shasta and the work she has done with our family Christmas pictures. We used every shot in our Christmas card and our families thought they were AMAZING! Shasta was able to win our 4 year old daughter over and capture her personality exactly. I look forward to Shasta's work in our upcoming vow renewal August 10, 2013. I feel that Shasta Marie Photography will be there for alot of this families milestone :D

My husband and I used Shasta Marie Photography for our engagement and wedding photos are were extremely happy with everything. I also used her for my boudoir photos and they turned out great. The pictures were beautiful and she was extremely professional. We would definitely recommend her for anyone who is planning a wedding.

Shasta photographed our April wedding and did a fantastic job! The day of she made me and my family feel at ease and guided us throughout the process. Her eye for detail and use of lighting techniques is amazing - we love our photos! We would have liked a bit more editing to the final photos such as smoothing wrinkles on the wedding dress and removing obstructing items, but overall we were very pleased. I would definitely use Shasta again for photography services!

I haven't received my pictures back yet so I can't comment on the quality of the photos but Shasta was great to work with the day of the wedding. We tried to get our engagement pictures taken twice and due to extenuating circumstances such as the weather we had to cancel both times and she refunded part of the money to us because we were never able to complete them. The day of the wedding we had a few unexpected surprises and she handled them for us with a smiling face putting less stress on me. We had fun taking photos the day of the wedding which was a huge stress relief.

Shasta is clearly a very experienced and talented photographer. She was super helpful the day of our wedding and had a lot of great ideas for creative shots. She even helped with some last minute setup at the venue. We were definitely glad to have her there. However, Shasta has been difficult to communicate with/get ahold of since the wedding, and has been very slow with sending us our pictures. The digital versions were promised within "approximately 6-8 weeks" of the wedding, according to our contract, and we received them 8 1/2 weeks after our wedding. We ordered the prints that were included in our package on February 22 through Shasta, and still haven't received them more than 2 months later. I've tried contacting her twice to check on the status of our order but haven't received a response. I'm now losing hope that we'll ever receive the prints or the custom photo album we ordered. This is particularly embarrassing considering that I encouraged family and friends to order their prints through Shasta so that she would get more business - many of them have yet to receive their orders as well. While the photos were beautiful and very well-done, I'm extremely disappointed with the slow service and complete lack of response. If you do use Shasta as a photographer for your wedding, I strongly recommend going through an independent printing service.

Worst Experience Ever!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give a half star review on Shasta Marie Photography I would. We hired Shasta to capture one of the most important days out of lives- our wedding. She was a no call no show for our initial meeting that was meant to be a get to know us session and an opportunity for her to understand what we want captured. We finally got ahold of her and she came up with some elaborate excuse of why she did not show. This woman is full of excuse after excuse and judging by the below review she just keeps on coming up with the crazy excuses. She is highly unprofessional and was very cold and unfriendly to our family and guests at our wedding. We hired her for 4 hours of coverage and she left right on the dot of the 4 hour time slot. She did the bare minimum and did not go above and beyond. After the wedding we basically had to beg for our photos. She lacks customer service at any level. If you are reading this review please take this as a warning. Don't put one of the most important days of your lives in this photographers hand. My husband and I were very disappointed in the experience with her.

SHASTA DID NOT SHOW UP. Shasta Marie photography was supposed to be my wedding photographer on November 4th, 2016. We talked and finalized everything a few days before the wedding. Everything seemed ready to go. I purchased a four hour package so Shasta was to start her photography at the church. Walking down the aisle, I did not see her anywhere. After our ceremony I realized she was not there. After attempting to reach her multiple times, I finally realized that she was not coming and that I did not have a photographer for my wedding. She was basically a no call no show. I was very disappointed knowing that I trusted her to be there and realizing I would have no professional photos for the biggest day of my life. Her absence altered the entire flow of our planned events. The NEXT day, I saw a refund to my account for the full amount paid without any sort of message or phone call explaining what happened. After the money was returned, her ASSISTANT sent an email stating Shasta had been in an accident but was okay and could not stop crying about missing our wedding. I understand this was an unforeseen circumstance; however she did not have a backup photographer nor her assistant try and contact me that day. It is now January of 2017 and Shasta herself still has not contacted me to apologize, yet she has tons of time to post her other photography on Facebook. Because of this, I would not recommend her to others.
