The Best DJ is JD!

On behalf of our Family, I want to thank you for an outstanding job on Saturday night, 8/9/2025. You had the party jumping! I never saw so many guests stay at a wedding reception until the end still dancing and partying.

And the Last Dance circle and group hug was unreal! I’ve never seen that before and it is a memory we will all treasure.

Amazing experience

My wife and I were stressing out since it was 3 weeks prior to the wedding and our booking with another company fell through. Kuya Jerrick was there to help us. He gave us a good price for the package we got. He met with us right away and asked us what specific music we wanted played at the wedding ceremony and the reception. He took care of every single detail and gave us great advice on the music. He was very responsive and so easy to work with. Everyone had a good time at the reception and his singing and jokes were awesome. I have been recommending him to my friends because of the great service he provided. Thanks for the amazing experience.

Best mc ever!

The vibes that Kuya JD experienced were undoubtedly the best MC for my wedding! He was incredible from the moment I chatted with him. He made sure we had everything right on the last day of our conversation to settle all the specifics. He was patient and listened to what we were hoping to achieve. On the wedding day (5/4/2024), he was flawless! Choosing Kuya JD as our MC was a great decision because this was undoubtedly the best day ever. Asking me where I found the MC, our guests approached us during the whole ceremony and even in the days after.

My husband and I just got married yesterday and the reception was taken care of by Shall We Dance Enterainment. JD was a pleasure to work with. He understands and works with what the couple and the guests want. Prior to the event, he makes sure that everything is ready and his responsiveness makes you feel at ease that the event you are planning is in good hands. He definitely made our wedding day special and memorable.

Fantastic!

Worth Your Money

We worked with JD for our wedding and he is absolutely amazing. We aren’t a couple big on dancing, and were not expecting a huge crowd, but people were dancing all night. JD really knows how to put on a good show, he went above and beyond to make sure the night flowed really smoothly and it was better than I could have ever imagined. Thank you JD.

More than a DJ

We needed a DJ for our wedding. What we got was much, much more. At our consultation, it was great vibes off the bat - funny, upbeat, wonderfully comfortable energy. Going over details and flow of the wedding, we realized JD was not only going to be our DJ, but he was also our Wedding Coordinator. And when he told us he took the liberties of stopping by the venue to scope things out beforehand, we knew we were in the hands of an experienced professional.

It’s immediately apparent how organized JD is and how much attention he gives to detail - this man really does his homework. He asked us important questions about things we hadn’t yet thought about, provided thoughtful, helpful and practical suggestions, but most of all he LISTENED. He cared, and it showed.

Planning this stuff is super stressful! JD took on all of that for us. He took so much off our plate as he proactively collaborated with our officiant and venue staff to ensure everyone was on the same page and everything ran smoothly. His experience is evident and he thinks about the things, tiny details, that we would have otherwise missed - he’s got it all covered. He works hard for you and is present and available the whole way through. You can rest assured, he’s on top of everything and it’s really nice to have that peace of mind throughout an otherwise stressful time.

JD gave us a night that we’ll daydream about for the rest of our lives. Music, flow, lighting, speeches, everything was so spot on and well thought out thanks to him. All the sights and sounds were beyond what we could have imagined. Oh, by the way, the man can SING! He provided us with some entertainment of his own to add a memorable touch and everyone absolutely loved it! We got so many compliments because of JD and owe so much to him for giving us such an unforgettable night. Thank you, JD!

JD is a Great DJ!

The day of the wedding, JD is ON! I loved how he interacts with the guests and gets them excited while playing their favorite tunes. As a wedding planner, it's rare for me to be surprised by a DJ, and JD had some really creative ideas that I haven't seen before. We also loved his photobooth setup and loved that he had a package option for it!

Dream come true

What a gift of talent! I met this awesome man the day I chose my venue. So kind, sweet and understanding! He made my planning and coordination for our special day so easy! We had a destination wedding in Yosemite September 2016. JD came through early and coordinated with the hotel staff for a superb experience. Not only is his sound& light system tight, he really knows how to MC. He even had extra lights on our cake in another room. The dance floor did not slow down! So many things went great for our wedding that friends and family still come and tell us "it was the best wedding they have ever been to", and JD was an integral part of it all. I wish I could give more than 5 stars for SWDE. Thanks man!

JD of Shall We Dance Entertainment was excellent as the DJ, MC, and lighting vendor for my wedding reception. My (now) wife and I would highly recommend him to our friends and family for their needs as well. Many of my guests (we had 400 people; 40 tables Chinese style banquet) commented highly of him saying that he was very interactive and engaged to figure out their song preferences. Many people with experience hiring DJs for their wedding also said that he was very good, in control, and MC'd really well. JD kept all the music clean to our preference, and appeased a large variety of ages and backgrounds. My wife and I were very happy with how well he got the crowd going, packing the dance floor till it was overflowing! JD of Shall We Dance Entertainment is definitely the real deal. I'm very pleased and happy that we went with his services and I recommend him to anyone who is in search of a DJ for their wedding as well. Thanks again JD for making our wedding reception so much fun for everyone!

If you want your event to be the talk of the town for months to come, drop everything and book Jerick aka JD from SWDE now!!! He was a huge part of making my wedding a success and it's not by luck. I've been to 2 other weddings where he worked the crowd as a DJ/MC and both brides highly recommended him based on his talent, professionalism, and fun & charming personality.
From the very beginning, I liked that JD was extremely proactive on following up on our discussions. On our first meeting, I already saw that he was very professional--he came prepared with a checklist and took meticulously detailed note on our vision for our wedding. Furthermore, he put in effort to get a good sense of our dynamic as a couple so he could reflect that during our wedding. During the planning process, he was very flexible, response, scheduled conference call to make sure we are on the same page, and was transparent on what he needs. He also scoped out the location before the wedding to ensure he's 100% set for the day-of.
On our wedding day, he came early and set up on time without a hitch. He worked the crowd using the list of songs we provided as well as some crowd-pleasers of his own. He even got a line dance going at one point. He also did an excellent job hosting the newlywed games, etc. The crowd danced all night and JD concluded the wedding reception with "Don't Stop Believing" but the guests wanted to keep going! They actually boo'ed when they were told the wedding is over. I've actually never been to a wedding where the crowd did not want to leave after the last song. So we had to extend the wedding a little longer. Still to this day, people still tell me they never had so much fun at a wedding. People may forget what they wore, ate, or saw, but NEVER forget how they felt at an event. So if you want an awesome wedding that you and your guests will forever remember and cherish, JD is your man. So snatch him up as quickly as you can!!!

J.D. was recommended to us by a friend who is a DJ (and was unavailable for our event) and am I ever happy I made that call!

He immediately 'got it' that we were doing something a little different for our wedding. Invites were sent for a 50th birthday celebration. In reality, after the cocktail hour, we were exchanging our vows! J.D. and I spoke about the plans for the evening and he offered suggestions on timing of events and reminded me about traditional wedding events I hadn't considered.

Then came the song selections for the evening. J.D. took down all of the songs and artists - both likes and dislikes - and built a playlist that rocked the night! He had EVERYONE on the dance floor! Our guests are still raving about how much fun they had. That includes a Sr. VP of a biotech company!

On top of the music and keeping the dance floor full, J.D. also managed to transform a standard banquet room with uplighting in just the right shade to compliment the evening and an electronic disco ball for when the dancing got rocking.

As the bride, I knew from the moment we walked into the room that J.D. had everything under control and that our night was going to shine beyond our imaginations. With him at the helm, I had the best time of my life in those few hours and know that our guests also had a blast!

We were so pleased with J.D.'s services at our wedding! He really took the time to get to know us prior to the event and this made a huge difference in the quality of the services rendered. He was respectful, creative, funny, and extremely professional. He even went so far to make music selection suggestions for us that ended up changing our original plans for the better. J.D. is the best! SWD Entertainment was hired for our wedding. He is our DJ & MC and my guests told me that he did a great job! He even helped us on event planning. He is very organize and always on time on our meetings specially on our wedding.

J.D. was exceptional from start till the end of the party. All of my guests song requests was granted. We are so happy and I would definitely recommend SWD Entertainment!

After a last minute fiasco with our original DJ, JD definitely came through and saved the day! With only 10 days before the wedding he met with us and planned out the best music ever! We got so many rave reviews about how great the music was all night long and still to this day. Only bummer was that he forgot to open up the toasts to anyone else who wanted to say something and the next day I found out my grandfather (who walked me down the aisle) had written a surprise speech he wasn't able to give. Other then that everything was AMAZING!

Coleen's review: JD is an incredible dj. Before the wedding he kept me updated with everything I needed to do and provided a worksheet for me to complete to ensure that I picked the song I liked. JD was flexible and answered emails in a timely manner even if it were late at night or early in the morning. He worked with my wedding oordinator, best man, maid of honor and both our parents to ensure the ceremony and reception was a time to remember. Our wedding was modern and he worked with Ricky and I and made it the most memorable day of my life. Thanks again JD!

JD was highly recommended. I'm so glad that we hired him to do our wedding. Not only is he a great DJ but he sings too!!! He sang Michael Buble tunes at our reception and everyone loved it. He kept the music going and switched it up to bring people to the floor. Everyone commented on how great he was. Everyone had a blast. I met JD through a friend who also used him for her wedding and I knew that when i get married, he was going to be my DJ. Not only is he able to accomodate to any environment/genre, his charisma just lights up the room.

JD and Shall We Dance Entertainment is a must have at your wedding reception. We enjoyed his performance in our cousin's wedding and we automatically knew that we wanted him at ours. He keeps the momentum going and is very interactive with the room. He catered to our every need and continuously still has rave reviews from my friends and family. I've recommended him to all my family and friends who are planning to be married. He has a beautiful voice too! He sang the ballad to my father/daughter dance. Very memorable!

Very personable and eager to please. Went above and beyond to fix the technical difficulties that came up prior to the service starting including driving to the next town over at the last minute in order to get an adapter that we needed for the slide shoe part of our rehearsal (not part of his job). Great value for the money!!

J.D. was fantastic at our wedding! I really think one of the most important vendors to have is a good MC/DJ. JD controlled the crowd, got everyone pumped up, and really got everyone to enjoy themselves. Anyone can stand up there and play a bunch of songs, but it really takes an experienced person to do what JD does.

JD sang our first dance song at the wedding and it was perfect! He even came out a couple weeks before the wedding to sing for us so that we could practice to his singing. At the wedding, he even sang a couple of songs for us… and definitely has a great singing voice.

I originally said no conga lines or dances like the YMCA… but our Best Man convinced us to let JD play those songs. I’m so glad we agreed!! After the conga line, JD lead the YMCA and rallied everyone onto the dance floor… even my boss and my grandmother got into it. We all had a blast.

Amazing host and DJ!

JD was amazing!! We hired him for our wedding on September 8, 2023. He would always offer some suggestions which my husband and I appreciated, especially when it came to our timeline. He is very talented and has a lovely voice! The other reviewers are right about him being flexible with last minute changes. JD, thank you for everything!! Everyone had a blast dancing on the dance floor and singing along his music! I will definitely recommend him and his services!

We hired JD for our wedding ceremony and reception. JD was great to work with. He always had an upbeat attitude and helped us through some song selections and reception planning. He played all the songs on our request list and was flexible enough to continue the wedding reception past allotted time if we needed. We were happy that he was able to do both the ceremony and reception, because simple is great! Everything went on time and was a great addition to our wedding. There were some parts of the reception that I would have liked to iron out a little bit more, like the cake cutting song. My father-in-law forgot to toast to us and was hoping someone (maybe the DJ?) would have caught that. Overall we would definitely hire him again for any more entertainment needs!

J.D. from Shall We Dance Entertainment provided his excellent DJ and MC services for our wedding in Pasadena in June 2011. We had a fantastic time and the dancing and attendee involvement was really non-stop. After pauses for moments like cutting the cake and the bouquet toss the dancing and music and dancing picked promptly just as we had asked. J.D. did an excellent job picking favorites from different eras so every generation had something to get down to. He was very helpful in working with us in advance of the ceremony to help come up with the perfect list of songs for special moments. He's incredibly personable and does a superb job multitasking and handling MC duties while helping our wedding night flow wonderfully. He's a very talented singer and at our request he sang the music leading to the cake cutting ceremony. He did an excellent job coordinating with our wedding planner before and during the event to ensure we stayed on schedule, yet adapted with aplomb when we requested last minute changes of plan. J.D. worked really well with the attendees in gathering some audience requests that got everyone moving. Most importantly he helped us to cater the mood and atmosphere to exactly what we wanted. He was a wonderful choice and I would highly recommend his services.

DJ was very professional... he is kind and understanding. he walked me right through the program and he eased my worries. He and his crew are very professional and he even got my parents to get on the dance floor. J.D. answered a Craiglist ad I posted outlining all the terms I wanted including the max amount I wanted to pay. 2 weeks before the wedding J.D. tried to get an extra $350 dollars out of me and claimed he was already giving me a 50% discount, even though he is the one that answered my ad and agreed to do it for the price I quoted. He then showed up an hour late the day of, started our grand entrance music in the wrong spot so we didn't get to do our whole dance, and he was unable to say one of our goomsman's name correctly even thought he was corrected numerous times. To top it all off, my husband got severly ill right as the food was set down and I had to take him to the hospital where he spent the next 5 days. I gave the rest of J.D.'s money to my sister to give to him after his contracted time was up yet I got a phone call about an hour before he was supposed to end from my bridesmaid stating that he was going around to all our bridal party asking where his money was. Needless to say he did not recieve a tip nor will he recieve any future business from me or my guests, as they all argreed he was a rubbish DJ anyhow.
