Highly recommend!!

Shadow Lake was incredible to work with. Ryan was incredibly organized and helpful throughout all of the planning stages and day of. She was quick to respond will helpful answers. Even through some unexpected rain on the day of, she was a calming presence for us with a back up plan ready to go that turned out gorgeous. The staff was incredible, and handled the decor beautifully so we had nothing to worry about and could really enjoy our day! The venue is stunning and the food was incredible. No matter which meal our friends and family chose, they all said how amazing their meal was. Ryan and the staff at Shadow Lake helped to make it the perfect day for us and we could not recommend them more!!

Everything we wanted!

Finding a wedding venue was difficult for us since we were planning our wedding from out of town. We initially started looking for places in the Finger Lakes, didn't find anything that had everything we wanted and started looking around Rochester.

We wanted a venue that could accommodate our ceremony and reception to make it easy for our guests, and we wanted an outdoor ceremony to highlight the fall foliage.

The ceremony site at Shadow Lake is absolutely gorgeous, you cannot even tell you are on a golf course. It is so easy for the guests to then immediately enjoy cocktail hour and then reception immediately following. We took our wedding pictures right at Shadow Lake as well (our photographer knew of a spot across the parking lot that was away from the clubhouse and looked like we were in a forest).

The inside of Shadow Lake is modern, classy, and clean. The food is all phenomenal. Ryan Carbone is an absolute gem of a human, and our wedding would not have been what it was without her.

If you're planning a wedding in the Rochester area, definitely check out Shadow Lake!

Everything you want

My husband & I looked at several venues but nothing really felt right until we walked into Shadow Lake. Ryan Carbone, Bridget & rest of the staff are hands down the best people in the business. From the delicious food to stunning space, people still are talking about it & complimenting us on such a wonderful party. We owe it all to the fabulous people at Shadow Lake. They do it all- top to bottom which allowed us to fully celebrate with our family & friends. Thank you so much to everyone at Shadow Lake for going above & beyond to making our dream wedding come to life!

Beautiful Venue. Amazing Value.

As a wedding planner, Shadow Lake is one of my favorite venues to work with! Ryan is truly amazing at what she does. She is responsive, flexible, and always willing to make my client's wedding day truly wonderful. In my opinion, Shadow Lake is one of the best values in Rochester as far as wedding venues go. You get amazing food, a beautiful space, and attentive staff for an extremely competive price. And with a beautiful tent or the large window ballroom, there is a good option for just about any signature wedding style. I would highly recommend Shadow Lake to any couple looking for their perfect wedding venue.

Shadow Lake was amazing!! I had my bridal shower here a few weeks ago and cannot give enough of a positive review. Ryan was our event coordinator and she had everything perfect. She replied in a timely manner to emails and fulfilled our Bridal Shower wishes. Our room servants were Ang and Becky, without a doubt two of the nicest people I have ever met. All my guests raved about the food selection, how clean the space was and how friendly the staff was. Lets not forget the wonderful view!!! We were very happy with our experience at Shadow Lake and will be recommending to anyone and everyone.

Shadow Lake Golf was AMAZING. The grounds are stunning, the lake is the perfect setting.
We had our ceremony outside and the reception was in the garden tent. The food was incredible, the whole staff was on point, it was so stress free. Ryan Carbone is incredible at what she does. It was a total breeze.

We had a rainy wedding and honestly I was so calm and zen about it. We had back up plans in place but we ended up still having the ceremony outside. It started sprinkling towards the end but we made it and I am SO happy we did.

It was so so so so so easy to work with them. Every detail was executed perfectly.
We made the best decision having our wedding there.

Shadow Lake was AMAZING, Ryan was so easy to work with! Everyone loved the venue so much. The pictures were beautiful, the clubhouse was a perfect size, the ceremony was breathtaking, the newly renovated bridal suite was perfect for getting dressed, and the bar was perfect! I couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else and I'm so grateful for the staff at Shadow Lake!

By far one of the best choices we made was to go with Shadow Lake. Ryan was beyond amazing and worked with us from Day 1 with planning. She would answer emails within a matter of hours to make sure everything we wanted was exactly what we asked for. As working in the wedding industry myself it was hard to step back with the planning and let Ryan take over. But she went above and beyond anything we could of asked for. A huge thank you goes out to Ryan and her staff. We are beyond thankful for making our special day everything we could imagine it to be! You can not go wrong with Shadow Lake!

My new husband and I had our wedding at Shadow Lake in October of 2017. Every single thing was perfect. We were passed through a couple hands between the beginning and end of our planning, but everyone we worked with (Ryan, Bridget, & Billy) was AMAZING. Our guests absolutely RAVED about the food. My new husband said it was the best steak he's ever had, and he wasn't the only person to say that. I had the mango relish salmon and felt the same way. The servers brought my husband and I new drinks throughout the night and a staff member asked us what we wanted to drink/eat when we started taking pictures after the ceremony. The views were gorgeous, the bartenders were friendly, and we couldn't have asked for a better venue in every way possible.

I am so happy I chose to get married here! All of the staff were so helpful during the planning process and truly took care of everything leaving me relaxed and stress free on my wedding day. The food was delicious and I got so many compliments on dinner. Even when a few things didn't go as planned (as happens during any wedding) the staff improvised and make the day work and go smoothly!

Shadow Lake provided us with a beautiful venue for our ceremony and reception. We worked with Ryan K. throughout our planning process, and even after he became GM a few months prior to our wedding. Ryan has a great personality and was extremely responsive to the multiple emails I sent to him, answering every question, providing support and guidance as needed. Shadow Lake allowed us to personalize our wedding, such as adding additional beers on tap (our reception was in the Garden Tent).
Our ceremony rehearsal and actual ceremony went great. Ryan C. coordinated and assisted us greatly with getting the ceremony started on time which helped us avoid a rainstorm that took place immediately following. The reception tables with our centerpieces were set up wonderfully in advance by Shadow Lake staff. Toni, the restaurant manager was in charge of our reception was amazing and kept our day of contact informed of various information as needed. The food was excellent and people are still telling us how good it was. I was even pulled aside by one guest at the reception who raved to me about his meal. Staff was extremely professional, kind, attentive, and responsive the entire night. They quickly accommodated requests such as moving a table to allow more room for the dance floor, and opening or closing the tent flaps. We had a wonderful day and can't say enough for how wonderful our experience was working with Shadow Lake. We are so happy we chose Shadow Lake as our venue for our ceremony and reception.

Shadow Lake was the perfect venue for our wedding! The food was superb, staff were there every step of the way to help us keep everything running smoothly, grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Our coordinator throughout the wedding planning process was amazing and quick to respond to questions that we had. The day of our wedding everyone did a magnificent job making sure the wedding was as seamless as possible!!! I highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a venue!!! I can't thank everyone enough at Shadow Lake for making our dream wedding come true!!

The views of Greystone speak for themselves.
We were planning on getting married outside, however it ended up raining right before the ceremony. The staff was extremly accomodating and quickly set up the dining room for about 170 to sit comforatbly and view the ceremony inside.
The staff was amazing and very friendly. The food was delicious!
My experiance was a 10 out of 10 especially working with The sales coordinator Ryan Kunzer, he made the process so easy for my and my now husband. We knew we were in good hands and recieved the guidance we were looking for as we had never planned a wedding before. Shadow Lake or Greystone would be an amazing venue for the most magical day of your life!!!

My son was married at Shadow Lake in June. Can't say enough about the experience. From our first meeting with Lindsey to our last with Ryan, the staff at Shadow Lake was wonderful. No question was too insignificant and was always answered promptly. Our dinner was exceptional. The quality and portion size was beyond our expectations. Was a perfect day at a wonderful venue!

We had our wedding reception at shadow lake! It was absolutely beautiful. Ryan was great leading up to the wedding, answering all questions promptly and meeting with us a couple of different times throughout the planning process and making sure everything went smoothly the day of! The food was also delicious! I couldn't have asked for a better reception venue!

The facility and the staff were fantastic. The only draw back was that it's not handicap accessible. The food and service was good . They provided insight and suggestions when we were planning the event. I would highly recommend Shadow Lake for any event.

I do not have enough good things to say about Lindsey and Shadow Lake. I was pleasantly shocked and surprised at the cost and everything that was included. There was valet parking, a coat check attendant, hand-passed snacks, etc. The club is beautiful and I love the separate bar. I was a bride with a LOT of questions and Lindsey was always prompt and helpful with her responses. As for the actual wedding, it could not have gone better! I dropped off what I thought were complicated centerpieces and decorations. Lindsey assured me they were fine and she and the staff NAILED setting them up. It's like they walked in to my head and laid everything out the way I wanted it. I barely saw the waitstaff during the wedding yet everything was done and done well. The food was FANTASTIC! You get a beef, chicken and fish choice as well as a vegetarian choice. My guests RAVED about the food. I have an aunt that said the food at Shadow Lake was better than the food she has at her expensive private country club in Boston.

Everything was top notch, beautiful and handled professionally. I do not have enough good things to say about Shadow Lake.

Amazing!! Just amazing! The venue was beautiful in October. Lindsey was so much help and so relaxed but always on top of things. We could never have had the most perfect wedding with out her! The staff was able to put the decorations we brought to good use using everything and making it more than beautiful. The food is excellent (I have to stop using amazing but it is)! The clubhouse venue was perfect with its huge windows capturing the fall colors throughout the day. We lucked out and got a nice overcast sky which made for wonderful pictures out on the pier. Every single one of our guests complimented us on choosing Shadow Lake and I know for a fact we picked the best place. Thank you to all the staff there!!

Shadow Lake is beautiful and the food was out of this world. Almost all of guests said they loved it and its the best wedding food they have ever had. We went with the Grazing Stations, the chefs at each station were great and the food was so fresh. Lindsey is the event coordinator and is awesome and very accommodating. She is so professional and her attention to detail is impeccable. We had a little issue...we originally thought our officiant was just late and she was very calming and reassuring that this is not uncommon and he would be there soon. She took down numbers and made calls and left messages to see if we could find out what the problem was. The officiant actually never showed up. Lindsey along with a few of our other vendors starting contacting officiants to see if they could come immediately. I cannot say enough about how comforting Lindsey was and how helpful she was with trying to get everything fixed. We looked at a ton of places, like 18 and I would choose Shadow Lake over and over again!

Emily R. and her staff were fantastic throughout our entire wedding process and the day. All of our guests were blown away with how beautiful our ceremony was outside and the reception in the tent. The service during the wedding was flawless. I would strongly encourage other brides to look at what Shadow Lake has to offer. Emily and the staff at Shadow Lake were very accommodating and professional throughout the entire process. We had planned a winter wedding for a certain amount of people, but in the end, for weather reasons and other, we were half the number of guests. Shadow Lake was very flexible and set up the room perfectly for the new number. The price was also much more affordable because it was a winter event. During the event, everyone was very professional and friendly. The venue is beautiful and the view out onto the snow-covered lake was wonderful.

Emily and the staff at Shadow Lake were amazing. Everything went very smoothly and Emily was great about talking with the photographer and DJ so that things went smoothly on the day of the wedding. The food was great and the garden tent was set up beautifully for our outdoor reception. We also had the ceremony right there and everything was handled very professionally. We would definitely recommend this as a venue.

My daughter celebrated her wedding at Shadow Lake last week and we are all still smiling. The venue was exquisitely prepared, the food was delicious, and the staff all accommodating. The event planner, Lindsay, was incredibly helpful during all of the preparations. She was responsive and patient in answering all of our questions and made helpful suggestions. On the day of the wedding, she was like a fairy godmother behind the scenes, making everything happen and attending to any minor problems.
I highly recommend Shadow Lake as the perfect venue!

Shadow Lake did an amazing job! Ryan was laid back and willing to work with us. The chef was so enthusiastic about our wanting to do a unique cocktail hour for our guests. They accommodated all of our food allergies without any problems! The venue itself is beautiful. Every member of the staff whether it was Donna organizing the ceremony or Pete helping ensure the bridal party's needs were being met was friendly, courteous, and helpful! I would highly recommend this venue!

Lindsey was great to work with and she was very reassuring that everything would be perfect. Everything was set up beautiful, the food was DELICIOUS! We had so many compliments how good everything was. They were very flexible on making last minute changes - an hour before the wedding we asked to have all of the bar stools removed and they were very accommodating. Only concerns were around a couple of the bar tending staff. We heard from multiple guests that the bartenders were rude to them. If a guest ordered a drink that wasn't on the open bar, they were not told until after they were served the non included drink and were expected to pay. Also there was no sign to tell guests when the hours of the open are were. Overall the venue was beautiful and food and staff was great - I just wish the bar situation would have been better.

Shadow Lake was a wonderful, beautiful venue setting for both our ceremony and reception! Ryan made our experience delightful with all the planning and was flexible to meeting our desired wishes for the day. Food was great and appreciated service courtesies. Some of my guests with special dietary needs did not initially get the orders they made, but when they spoke up it was able to happen. Also, it was unclear as to when the wedding party appetizers were available when we were told it would be provided by the staff.

Shadow Lake in Penfield is a gorgeous location. We have obviously not had our wedding there yet, but so far Ryan has been so responsive to our needs and questions, very professional, and out of all the venues we looked at this one was the best for the dollar. I know I'll have a gorgeous wedding without having to pay the outrageous amounts other venues are asking. For quality of service and flexibility I only gave a 4 just because the wedding hasn't happened yet but I'm sure by the time I have the wedding I'll be able to change those to 5 stars as well!

I could not have picked a better location for my wedding reception than Shadowlake. The ambiance of the clubhouse was perfect for a late fall wedding. The food was fantastic and we still get compliments on it to this day. I would recommend Shadowlake to anyone getting married.

An amazing experience! One of the most memorable moments of our entire wedding day, was when my brand new husband and I walked down the aisle after our ceremony, and saw, for the first time, the tent decorated for our wedding. It absolutely took my breath away! Everything I had left for Ryan in boxes was displayed magically in its perfect place. I could never have imagined this image as beautifully as it was manifested by the staff. They worked hard, started early, and stayed up late making sure that all we had to worry about was dropping off decorations and then picking them up the next day. Cocktail hour at Shadow Lake was so much fun-- the tent, patio, yard and lake are situated so perfectly for all guests to have space to spread out and enjoy each other's company, and be involved in activities, not just spectators. During dinner, the staff were timely and efficient, making sure all tables were being served promptly. They were discreet and never in the way. The food was absolutely scrumptious-- I wish I'd had time to eat even more! After dark, we roasted marshmallows while tiki torches glowed and lined the pathway out. Ryan orchestrated the perfect event, and all of the wait and service staff were friendly, helpful and energetic. We had a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding. The tent never felt stuffy or cramped.Shadow Lake was so willing to work with us to turn everything we could dream up into a reality for our wedding. We were so happy to have chosen this venue to host and take care of all of our requests & visions on our most special day. The planning process for our wedding truly was stress free, and we attribute that in part to the skills, abilities, flexibility, helpfulness and know how of the Shadow Lake staff. The full August foliage was beautiful and kept our space private. Thank you so much to Shadow Lake! We so appreciate all the work you did to ensure that we had an absolutely beautiful and inspired day!

Shadow Lake was so beautiful! Everyone commented on how it was a perfect day and it was the best wedding they've ever been to. The Club House has a huge bar with 20+ beers on tap, which was a huge highlight for our guests! The food was delicious and the scenery was outstanding! There were a couple times where our coordinator couldn't be found for questions during the reception and I would have liked a bit more guidance with deadlines prior to the wedding, however, the flexibility of the venue was great and everything turned out wonderful. The venue says it can hold up to 240 people in the Club House and we had 130 guests, plus vendors, and I honestly don't know how they'd be able to fit 240 people. With that being said, I definitely would recommend Shadow Lake to anyone who was looking for a wedding venue! We loved it and had an amazing day!

We had a wonderful Sunday brunch wedding at Shadow Lake in August of 2018. We worked with Ryan leading up to the wedding day and were happy with the planning process. It was all relatively smooth and Shadow Lake made it easy. On the day of, the food was exceptional, the service/wait staff were professional and responsive, and the venue speaks for itself in terms of how beautiful it is. We had a wonderful day and were very pleased. The only thing that put a bit of a damper on our day is that we were told Ryan and her assistant would be with us to serve as coordinators the day of. Ryan's assistant was present to help us line up for the ceremony, but then we didn't see her again for the rest of the day. And, we didn't see Ryan once on the wedding day. This would have been absolutely fine had I planned for or expected it. We would have preferred to have been given a contact person from the wait staff so that we could ask questions about the timing of food, where the cake was, etc. There were a couple of instances where we had questions about the timing of food and couldn't find the right person to ask right away. I expected a brief follow-up contact after the wedding to see how things went, but we didn't get that either. Let me be clear that these things did not significantly detract from our day and we were very laid back, so the helped. The setting was stunning and we were very happy. We do wish we would have had better communication the day-of so that we weren't left to coordinate and field questions. Overall, we were very, very happy with our experience.

The only thing that we knew that we definitely wanted for our wedding was that it was going to be outdoors. Come rain, come snow, come sunshine...we knew it had to be an out door wedding. Shadow Lake was the ONLY place that I wanted my wedding. So soon as I saw the lake, the outdoor tented area, the walk way and the complete arrangement of the grounds...I knew that I just had to book that location. The venue was PERFECT...outside of me marrying the perfect man on a day with the most beautiful weather, it really was shadow lake that everyone fell in love with. The tent was classy and decorated just to my liking. The DJ had more than enough room to set up, the tables were in a perfect arrangement AND I could put as more as a little people at a table as I liked. I got to choose whether or not I wanted a buffet (which was out of this world) a sit down dinner or stations. I went with the buffet and then the best part of working with shadow lake was that I had an ethnic wedding...and they catered to all of our Ukrainian traditions and were really supportive of our customs. We spent the rest of our wedding worry free dancing the night away. It really was the perfect night...and I have nothing but good things to say about the venue where our wedding was held! The food was fantastic, can't say enough about that - all of our guests commented on how great the food was. This was the prettiest venue we found for the price point. However, we had our ceremony out by the pond, and even though we were told we had priority, they scheduled another wedding just an hour before ours, which made it very hard to set up the space for us. It was also a little distracting having the outside reception going on while we had our ceremony. The staff was helpful, although they didn't help get things together at the end of the night, and actually gave away leftover cake to golfers the next day (our family was there at 8am the next morning to get it, and it was already out in the golfer's lounge). While everything turned out okay, it was sometimes difficult to communicate with Ryan. We had a great ceremony and reception, the food was great, the price point was good, just keep in mind some of the minuses to this venue.
