We hired Ramsey for our wedding on Labor Day Weekend and he was perfect! He was so thorough and thoughtful! He made sure that everyone was having a great time and when we had a couple of last minute changes to our songs, he totally rolled with it. He is so talented and professional. Incredible experience with DJ FishFonics!
We worked with DJ FishFonics (Erik Fish) for our June 2024 wedding and reception, and we're so happy with our decision! SGM Events helped with matching us with the right DJ, contracting, and payments. Afterwards, we worked directly with DJ FishFonics for planning the event. We have so many great things to say but the number one thing was that the music was absolutely incredible! We gave Erik several song examples for parts of the night like cocktail hour and dance floor, and he took it to the next level. Our dance floor was bumping from beginning to end. He knew how to keep the crowd energized, with his remix selections and transitions that matched the vibe we communicated. As a bonus, Erik provided the list of songs upon request after the event, so now we can relive the night whenever we want.
He was also great with all the other aspects of DJing an event: set-up done on time at our venue at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park Kijamii Overlook, worked well with the coordinator for timing and cues, lighting was great, responsive via e-mail, listened well to the type of music we wanted, played the right versions of songs at the right time for wedding moments, made the announcements as asked, and more. I highly recommend DJ FishFonics in the future if you want a smooth event and a good time for your crowd!

FishFonics (Erik) was such a pleasure to work with and totally killed it at our wedding. He was so good at telling what music was working for our guests and did such a good job of keeping people dancing all night! Dj ramsey!
DJ Ramsey was incredible! We had a couple of phone consultations with him and he answered all of our questions, gave us examples, pictures, basically whatever he could to fully answer all of our questions. He sent us a worksheet to help fill out all the specific songs we wanted, asked if there was any specific announcements he should give etc. Between the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, he was on top of making sure the music matched each portion of the day and that the guests were having a great time. Would highly recommend him to anyone. Thanks DJ Ramsey for making our wedding day so magical!

Best DJ Decision for our Wedding!
Choosing Erik (DJ FishFonics) and Sleeping Giant was hands down one of the best decisions I made for our wedding. From the minute I selected Erik months prior, he was always so responsive to my emails and pretty quick to respond, as well (which is huge for a Type A person like myself). He had SGM do all of the managing and they were also super efficient and easy to work with. The pricing was totally fair and the worksheet they sent me to complete prior totally helped me navigate our wedding and song selection. I am SO glad I went with Erik, he was AMAZING and totally listened to all of my requests and feedback. SGM + Caprice Strings = Perfect
SGM was amazingly easy to work with; maybe the best vendor we worked with leading up to the big day. We had many music options provided to us and we decided to hire Caprice Strings to play our wedding. They absolutely nailed it! We asked for quite a few songs that were not in their song list and for a small fee per song, they learned the songs and played them perfectly; super impressed with them! We would no question recommend SGM and Caprice Strings for any event. All parties were super cool and super professional and made our day perfect!

DJ Bernard Killed it!!
DJ Bernard was our wedding DJ and he was incredible! His announcements and emceeing were very fluid and maintained a great flow during our entire day. Bernard and I spoke over the phone a few times and really honed in on what type of vibe/music we wanted playing at all times during our wedding day. He honored all our requests and when it came time for the dance floor to open up he played all the songs we wanted, including a few request from the Mother of the Groom. I was told 20-30 times that our DJ was the best wedding DJ they have ever experienced, and I agree. He really understood what our guests wanted to dance to and absolutely controlled the dance floor! I can't praise him enough!

DJ Bernard Brought the Party!
DJ Bernard and the staff at SGM Events were excellent to work with. They were prompt, courteous, and helpful via email, and never complained when I took an eternity to respond to them in return!
Everything went perfectly on the day of the wedding, and DJ Bernard was a big part of making that happen. He put together excellent setlists from the snippets of information we gave him about what we wanted, and he perfectly captured the vibe we wanted at the reception for dancing. He also made some very helpful suggestions for how to make our grand entrance flow perfectly into our first dance, gave us a helpful worksheet for selecting all of the music we would need with suggestions from past playlists, and provided lighting that greatly enhanced our reception's aesthetics. Our guests were on the dance floor until literally the last second of the reception. I'm very happy that we went with DJ Bernard and SGM events for our wedding, and would absolutely recommend them to anyone else.

DJ Willy has been a DJ at several weddings of friends and family and the experience has been incredible every time. He is committed to providing a personalized music an entertainment experience. His attention to detail is impeccable and begins with his music worksheet. His ability to read the crowd and tailor the music to the mood is second to none, during dancing there wasnt a person sitting down as he was able to captivate the entire crowd of 200 people and got them on their feet. DJ Willie even MC'd our reception and you could definitely tell his level of experience the way he seamlessly integrated humor and character into the very tight and compact schedule. SGM & DJ SHY rock the house!!
We chose SGM Events through Abbey Catering as part of their all-inclusive package, and we are so happy that we did. Their entire team is in the loop on your event, and make everything a seamless process throughout. Our specific DJ – DJ SHY – was the man as well...extremely flexible & patient, and completely understood all of our dance requests (first dance, father & bride, etc) and was able to deliver on it perfectly. He also kept the dance floor rocking the entire night – we had a lot of people say it was one of the best DJs they'd experienced at a wedding.

If I could rate Bernard 20/10 stars I would! From the beginning he was professional, friendly, and asked all the right questions to help prepare us for the wedding and did not miss a single detail. This review is specifically for DJ Bernard at SGM Events. My experience with DJ Bernard was everything wonderful and more. The music and show that DJ Bernard put on at my wedding was SO INCREDIBLE that pretty much every guest that attended is still messaging me or telling me how much fun they had and how amazing our DJ was. And I completely agree. If you are looking for a DJ who will take your wedding to another level, skip all the cliche wedding songs, and bring the party to life then DJ Bernard is your guy. He was so communicative, took the time to hear about our vision and what type of party we wanted to have, provide expertise and suggestions for taking it beyond just another wedding or event, and was just an all-around nice, awesome guy. For me, the music at my wedding was a top priority and I am so so happy that I found DJ Bernard. DJ Bernard with SGM was the BEST. He exceeded all expectations (and hopes) that I had. He did an amazing job reading the group, keeping everyone dancing and making it so fun for us! It is always a roll of the dice when you book with someone you don't know and so for DJ Bernard to have delivered on EVERY level: kindness, professionalism, FUN, ease, savvy plus choosing the absolute best music for the group gathered--it was such a gift to all of us!

He even offered in our emails prior to the date that I could let him know throughout the night if I'd like him to change colors, change up the speed of the rotation, etc. But I honestly never even remembered to think about changing the lights--he did such a fantastic job.
He just delivered in spades and went above and beyond to make sure the entire event was smooth-- even filling in/covering for the guitarist when needed, when it wasn't his job, to ensure our wedding reception went smoothly. DJ Bernard, I can't thank you enough! You did SUCH an amazing job and we'll never forget how fun you made our wedding for EVERYONE!

Top Notch Custom DJ Experience!
My husband and I hired Mikey to fly to Mexico to play several custom events for our destination wedding: ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, reception, late night after party, and pool party the next day. He KILLED it! We are very particular about our music and wanted a very custom set of events- Mikey delivered in a big way. Best Wedding DJ Ever!
We had the pleasure of working with Michael Cabrera (DJ Shy) for our wedding! From our initial interview meeting with him, Michael was extremely friendly, warm and easy to work with. He helped offer sugguestions for our timeline, different versions (slower/faster paced) for our first dance and shared lists of other songs that we had to consider for other parts of the night (ie songs for father/daughter, cake cutting, bouquet tossing, etc). It was also easy to share with him the songs we wanted at our wedding via Spotify or Google docs. He went with the flow of the night and kept our guests dancing and having a good time! The music was perfect for everyone, even with the kids and older generations. We loved his energy and enjoyed an incredible night. I would absolutely hire MIchael again for any future events, and would happily recommend him and Sleeping Giant Music!

We booked SGM Events through our caterer (The Abbey Catering) and are so glad we did! Our wedding was originally October 2020 and was moved to October 2021 due to the pandemic. They were helpful and flexible during the whole process. We chose DJ Ramsey who was SO nice, professional, and made our event fun! He chose great music based on our preferred music choices and came up with a great playlist. He was able to time our important songs to when we wanted to start them as well. Our SGM Team MADE our wedding!
We booked Curt Owen Duo for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and I received sooo much positive feedback from our guests on their music. Curt learned two new songs for our processional, and was even excited about them when we shared our ideas. I absolutely loved their spin on the songs and wish I had them on video! We also booked DJ Bernard for our reception and he did all of the sound for the ceremony as well, which was perfect with no sound issues. Bernard is an incredible DJ! The way he played to the dance floor and transitioned songs made our guests go wild! I barely even left the dance floor! Multiple of my guests kept coming up to me during dancing saying it was the most fun wedding they've been to - hands down thanks to Bernard! Love this team and 20/10 recommend them!

DJ Mikey Beat was AMAZING. Not only was he flexible with last minute changes he picked a selection of music that had the vast majority of a very diverse wedding guest list on the dance floor. Wonderful DJ for our Wedding
We used DJ Mikey Beats for our San Diego wedding a few weeks ago and he was fantastic! He was extremely knowledgeable with music and receptive to what we wished for our reception. We booked with SGM pre-covid and during the pandemic got told our original DJ had to cancel. SGM was amazing at giving us other available DJs and getting a new contract signed ASAP. DJ Bernard was above our expectations! From our original zoom call to many emails leading up to our wedding and then the day of he was personable, quick to respond and so helpful. He was able to read the vibe of our wedding and keep our guests dancing all night! Our friends and family haven’t stopped telling us how amazing our DJ was and we couldn’t be happier!

We had Bernard for our wedding DJ in June 2021 and he did a phenomenal job. Not only was the equipment high quality and worked well, he also had a great playlist that had people dancing all night. He even did great with song requests. (: He did a special shout-out to my mom during the ceremony and some other announcements that went super smooth. Thanks SGM for making our wedding an amazing night!!
One word of advice for very organized brides. Make sure to have all the information you want shared throughout the night in one location to be shared with the company at one time. Also, it may take a reminder throughout the night to make sure some of the announcements get made. For instance, I wanted the DJ to make announcements about the guest book and cheesecake throughout the night, but this was overlooked somehow. I still would hire SGM over and over again, but wanted to acknowledge that communication is so important and that some of the more minor things can be lost in a very involved event.

The entire process of working with SGM and DJ Hevrock was wonderful. We had an intimate wedding reception with about 30 guests, and felt very cared for and attended to. We had an opportunity to Zoom with DJ Hevrock before signing any agreements and were able to discuss timeline and costs. The booking process was very easy, and the pricing extremely fair. DJ Hevrock was an excellent MC and applied our preferences for music perfectly. My best friend’s son literally danced himself to sleep. I high recommend SGM for your next event.

SGM and DJ Ramsey made magic happen!
DJ Ramsey was on point!! He DJed our wedding and the whole flow of the event, including the toasts, announcements, and music was absolutely perfect. He even was able to play a toast from my best man who couldn't make it to the ceremony but recorded the toast on his phone! SGM was great and easy to work with and Ramsey was the absolute professional. We gave him some ideas of what we liked and he took it and ran with it...music was perfect for each moment (cocktail hour, dinner, dancing) and the volume was great too. He was fun and energetic and our guests loved his playlist.

Danced the night away!
We hired DJ Ramsey for our wedding. He was great! Super charismatic and sweet, we were literally jumping and dancing the whole night! Ramsey has a good mind for event coordination, we felt like we were in great hands. Ramsey and his agency were super responsive with great proposed ideas and attention to detail. Highly recommend!

Couldn't Be Better
SGM was incredibly professional, flexible, and fair, given the constraints of Covid-19 and the last minute inability to have music at a 'reception' (we were allowed dinner service, without music). Shawn Blaze helped us organize and facilitate us playing our music even though he could not be there. We highly recommend SGM and Shawn Blaze and hope that we have occasion to hire them in the future.

DJ Ramsey Rocks
We met DJ Ramsey at the Bridal Expo, and definitely felt like he "got us" with what we wanted the feel of our wedding to be. He kept the party going with our classic rock/Italian/Irish music, and always checked with us if there was a question about an upcoming song, or something someone was requesting. He read the room, and kept the party going. Couldn't have been happier! Thank you, DJ Ramsey!

Best wedding DJ Ever!
Ramsey was our DJ for our wedding! He was awesome. Right from the time we met him we felt like we were working with our friend. We gave him a list of all the songs that we had to have along with links to Spotify playlists we had come with. He definitely delivered everything we wanted and more. SGM Events is the best!
SGM Events truly went above and beyond for our wedding day. After working with Freddie to find people within our budget, we were recommended Curt Owen for acoustic guitar and DJ Hevrock. Both were absolutely phenomenal. Curt is so talented and let us pick three songs we wanted for our ceremony and learned them in a matter of days. Our guests are still gushing about great he was! DJ Hevrock is kind and professional -- and even gave my shy groom a signal so he could cut off the song as soon as he was uncomfortable dancing in front of everyone. Our older guests especially appreciated Hevrock's ability to read the room and not play the music at a volume that they couldn't have a conversation during. I would choose this team over and over again if I could. Thank you all so much for making our wedding day flow so easily.

Bernard Gonzalez is amazing
We booked Bernard Gonzalez for our wedding from SGM and he was given the stressful task of being told that our DJ is by far the most important aspect of our special night. After a discussion to let him know our preferences, we shut down the Electric slide and all that old school wedding music and said that we want people on the floor dancing to club bangers the entire time. He pulled through more than we could've imagined, from Hip Hop to EDM to dubstep he had the party dancing the entire time - 7 straight hours. Our wedding planners told us that they had never seen the dance floor packed during the cocktail hour (5-6) and he played straight to midnight. I appreciate that Bernard brought an extra subwoofer box to increase the bass. Guests were more than impressed and everyone was exhausted by midnight when his time was up. I would suggest him (and SGM) for anyone who thinks the DJ and their guests dancing is the most important aspect of their wedding or special event.

Sleeping Giant Music was wonderful to work with from the start. Highly professional, helpful, and dedicated to make our wedding day one we would never forget! We worked with Mike Kleeman and cannot say enough about how great he was to work with. He spent time meeting with us in person and on the phone many times to perfect our music timeline. He walked us through step by step, what we could expect from start to finish and we found that incredibly valuable. Amazing! Absolutely recommend an SGM DJ for a wedding!
It was so easy and comfortable to work with SGM and DJ Bernard. We gave Bernard the songs we wanted to play for selected moments (processional, recessional, grand entrance, first dance, etc...) but otherwise gave him free reign to read the crowd and played what he thought was best for our wedding. And it was AMAZING. He had almost all of our guests up and dancing even though I had been worried no one would dance! We ended up ending our night about 20 minutes earlier than planned since we were exhausted and we had guests dancing up until the very end. Bernard double checked pronunciation with us and made sure everyone who needed a mic had one. We couldn't have been more pleased to have hired him!

DJ Ramsey from SGM was great!
My (now) wife and I had a wedding package through Abbey Catering; Ramsey of SGM Events was recommended to us by our videographer after we mentioned we were into EDM and were planning on having a lot of it at our wedding.
Right off the bat, one of the things we liked about SGM Events is that we were able to talk with the Ramsey right away and see if he'd be a good fit for us socially in addition to his understanding of the kind of music we wanted to play. Another DJ service we talked to required us to talk to a frontman until we signed on with them, which was a turn off for us.
Ramsey was an absolute blast to work with. We obviously had a challenge in that we like EDM (particularly some heavy genres like dubstep), but we also had to appeal to the older generations in our crowd as well. Ramsey was able to make this work, starting the night with some songs that all ages would be familiar with and gradually ramping up into the heavier stuff. Ramsey was good about recognizing what songs weren't working and transitioning away from them, and checking in with us throughout the night to make sure we were happy with the song selection. Bonus points for that awesome transition from Gold into Fade (both by Adventure Club). :) Our friends loved it and had a blast, and we hope Ramsey did too.
Ramsey was also a joy to talk to when he wasn't DJing. He's definitely someone we'd hang out with outside of our wedding -- we hope to be able to catch him at DJing at other venues around San Diego.

On point, organized, did an exceptional job
Mikey Beats and his team were extremely organized - they communicated prior to the event with all the right questions to really plan and execute the event in a way that jerked just the right amount of tears and made our wedding a beautiful sentimental event. He worked well with our day of coordinator, showed up and started setting up promptly and really ran the event, got people in their seats and on the dance floor when appropriate and helped everything flow gracefully. I’d say about 90% of our wedding attendees were on the dance floor until the end and I have had numerous compliments on the music and how great our DJ was. I will recommend him to any and all friends getting married.

For A Good Time, Book Kleeman
Our experience using this company to book Mike Kleeman to DJ our wedding was everything we wanted and more. The process was easy to navigate and Mike (who was excellent and pleasant to work with) really helped us hone in on what we wanted- and then brilliantly filled in the blanks for the parts we didn't have a vision for. The prices were fair and the result was excellent!
