Made My Dresses Fit Perfectly (And In a Pinch!)
I cannot recommend Marilyn’s work enough! I took her my mom’s wedding dress to be redesigned for my rehearsal dinner dress, and not only did she take a 30 year old dress, handle it with care, and make it look like new, she also added a corset back the week before my wedding when it no longer fit.
She also altered my wedding dress and it fit like a glove. When adding a bustle, I told her that I don’t like the look for normal bustles, so she added an invisible bustle which kept the seamless look of the dress.
She was professional, communicative, and priced well! I would take any of my garments to Marilyn! -

So glad I found Sewing by Marilyn!
Marilyn provided alterations for my daughter’s wedding dress. Her workmanship and fitting skills are superb. The scope of work included the hem, bodice and illusion neckline. The hem was raised about 6” and required removal of all the bottom appliqués. The train lace was quite detailed and went all the way up to a point at back hip line. Marilyn is a joy to work with and I highly recommend her boutique for all wedding and formal wear. -

Amazing work and service!
Marilyn did an amazing job with making my custom wedding dress. She was super flexible with fittings and made sure everything was exactly how I had envisioned. You would be lucky to have Marilyn make your dress. She was incredible! -

Marilyn does amazing work!
Marilyn was great to work with. She altered at 10 dresses that were at my daughters wedding including 2 wedding gowns! She is so talented and has a wonderful attention to detail. We all looked amazing! -

Marilyn was the absolute BEST! I had originally posted in a Clermont/Minneola/Groveland Facebook group asking for recommendations on a seamstress that could alter a wedding dress and 80% of the comments recommended Marilyn and I’m so glad I listened. She altered my wedding dress PERFECTLY and everytime I tried it on I felt more and more beautiful. She truly is a magician at her craft. Thank you again Marilyn! -

Absolutely wonderful experience! Marilyn is extremely professional, honest, and creative. I got my wedding dress altered and there was everything from a corset back, lace, hem, straps, and adding an additional layer to make the dress perfect. I had several appointments and each time, I was impressed with the progress of the dress. She's the best in Winter Garden & Casselberry area. She is easy to communicate with and stay committed to her deadlines. Thank you Marilyn!! Very happy bride -

Marilyn is Reliable, Friendly & Great at What She Does
Marilyn saved my wedding day! I purchased my dress before I lost weight and when it arrived I was afraid there wouldn’t be enough time to alter it. Other places I called couldn’t have it ready for up to 2 months and I only had 2.5 weeks. I called Sewing by Marilyn and she was so friendly and sweet and said she could have it done on time. Marilyn came through with a few days to spare! She is such a professional and I absolutely love my dress…I truly felt like a princess!!! And everyone loved my dress. If you need anything altered choosing Sewing by Marilyn is a must! -

Marilyn was perfect! Pricing was amazing, she was easy to get ahold of and super sweet! She hemmed my dress which had a very intricate design, shortened the shoulder straps and added a bustle. I loved it!! I highly recommend her for all your tailor needs! -

Marilyn did an AMAZING job with my Mother of the Groom dress. I needed my dress to be taken in a little on the sides & added a high low hem / train at the bottom. She got this done quickly and it fit perfectly. I will be recommending her to anyone and everyone I know. 💜 Thank you Marilyn! 💜 -

Thank You Marilyn!
I am so thankful that I found Marilyn. I found her business per a local FaceBook group where members recommended her for wedding alterations. I sent a message via her website and shortly after she contacted me to schedule my first appointment.
First off, Marilyn is extremely friendly the second you meet her. She has a warm welcoming personality and makes sure her clients feel comfortable.
My initial appointment I brought in both my reception & ceremony dress to get quotes on the work that needed to be done. I was excited to find out that Marilyn even makes custom veils for a reasonable price.
Marilyn ended up altering both of my dresses and making me a custom veil. The veil was stunning and everything I could’ve asked for. Both of my dresses fit me perfectly after the alterations were completed. Marilyn was even able to give me a bit more breathing room in my dress, after some weight gain. I always felt she was understanding and truly there for me in the process.
Not only did Marilyn help me, but she also altered my husband’s pants for the wedding and my mother n law’s dress. I also hired Marilyn to steam my dresses and my bridesmaid dresses. The girls were so thrilled about this and it looked great.
I am so thankful I found Marilyn. Her prices are reasonable, she’s extremely professional/friendly, and her work is truly amazing. -

They say that you should be careful when looking for a tailor to fix your wedding dress. They have to be very good and know what they're doing. After a long nervous search, I was referred to Marilyn. Her storefront was very close and very intimate where she focuses only on you. I needed things to be fixed on my dress that I never thought could be fixed, but Marilyn fixed them. She was so amazing and her work was so wonderful that I brought my entire bridal party to her.
Groom:
My husband brought his suit in and when his suit needed to be let out a bit, we didn't think there was any room left in the fabric, but she was able to let it out and the pants fit on him much better.
Ring bearer:
We bought my son a suit that came from the UK, but it didn't come with a tie. We needed a tie to match the fabric of the suit and in 24 hours, she had gifted us with a tie for him. It was amazing.
Flower girls:
My 5 year old twin daughters were walking down the aisle in sleeveless dresses which were so pretty. But we had no idea that the weather was going to be so cold. We needed to keep our girls warm in the cold weather, somehow. I let her know two nights before the wedding and by the morning before the wedsing, she had made the most beautiful white fur shawls with roses on them. My girls stayed warm and looked absolutely stunning.
Everything Marilyn does is amazing. She is the sweetest person you will ever meet, her work is impeccable, and she is very affordable. We will continue to use her for all of our tailoring needs. Not to mention for designing dresses for my girls. She is so talented. I would never go anywhere else. I was so for tunate to have met her before our wedding. She really helped to make our day special. -

Absolutely Amazing!
Marilyn was recommended to me by another family member, and I am SO glad I chose her to work on my dress!
Our wedding was in May, and everything was changing last minute due to Covid-19. As hectic as it was, Marilyn was extremely kind, patient, and flexible. She made me feel so special as she really took the time to find out exactly what I wanted and make sure every last detail was perfect. She even offered to steam my dress the day of the wedding!
I did not like any of the traditional bustles, so she got creative and made my dress into a "ballroom" bustle. My very long train completely disappeared, exactly how I wanted!
We ended up having her alter my grandma's outfit and have since recommended her to many other friends and family.
Her pricing was great and she was able to work within my tight budget! -

Dress was altered and bustled with expertise, love, and care! Highly recommended Marilyn! Cheaper then the usual bridal stores! Loved my bustle! It was easier for my bridesmaids to put the dress in the bustle! -

Marilyn was an absolute pleasure to work with and I cannot say enough about her amazing talent with alterations! I brought in a detailed wedding gown for alterations. She was responsive from day one and worked quickly between appointments. I was pleasantly surprised how fast her turn around time was!
